On Sunday June 14th I decided I needed to drive through Spearfish Canyon. I was cloudy but I felt the need to see how much water was going over Bridal Veil Falls. With all the moisture we have had I figured it should be doing quite well. It didn’t dissapoint. Spearfish Creek was going pretty well but wasn’t real high. I didn’t go up to Rough Lock or try to see Spearfish Falls. My back doesn’t permit a lot of walking. The hike down to see Spearfish Falls is not long but it’s relatively rough and strenuous. Maybe next time.

We spent the week of May 31-June 5 at Custer State Park. This is just a sampling of the photos I took. Watch Facebook for link to a Flickr album from the week. I have enjoyed taking photos with the new Tamron 16-300 zoom. I can no get some close ups w/o breaking out the Tamron 200-500. I will be showing some good Prairie dogs pics taken with the 200-500 in Wind Cave National park however.
It was a wet week week but temperatures were pleasant. We stayed in Legion Lake Campground. However the old bull buffalo that has been in the campground in the past was missing.

Here are the Sheep Photos from my trip through Custer State Park today. I am glad I went back through the park after I was done in Custer as the sheep weren't out earlier.

Spearfish Canyon
We will be camping at Spearfish City Park next weekend. Hopefully there will be some good "leaf peeping" photos from that trip.
