mmmmmm read a disciple shen yuan/shizun luo binghe fanfic about two days ago where the first chapter was the Immortal Conference arc, and SQQ was the one who had to be pushed into the abyss (he was still the villain) except Luo Binghe was refusing and was like, lowkey losing his mind about SQQ being so close to the edge. SQQ ended up having to be the one to fall in himself because of the system's punishment system. The rest of the fic is leading up to that moment. But like, MMM i've been obsessively thinking about that first chapter for DAYS ever since.

now i've been in svsss for a grand total of *checks watch* a week. but god obsessed with that. I want to write/read a fic where disciple SQQ goes a little nuts down there. Like keep all of the things that make SQQ, SQQ, but just. Throw in a little bit more trauma in there. A little bit of a mental break. Let him go a little nuts as a treat. Just a tad unhinged. I wanna see him go, just a little, "god fuck it, i've tried so hard to change this shitty story's outcome and it feels like everything i've done has been for nothing. I'm going to die in this world no matter what I do, I've been doomed from the start, so might as well die the way I want to." and he just, breaks a little! Under all the stress.

He still retains the traits that makes shen yuan, shen yuan, like his overwhelming kindness. But he's just! yk. A little less patient. Paranoid. Jumpy. Colder. A little more aloof and closed off. A little more Shen Jiu. He's no asshole child abuser, but he was a Number One Hater in his past life and he's leaning into that old habit a little more now.

(On a totally coincidental not-at-all related note, there's not enough SJ-and-SY-are-the-same-people fics out there that i've found. This is totally unrelated...)

The Endless Abyss turns the mind into an over-sharpened blade, and SQQ is both fascinated and perhaps a little excited to explore a place that doesn't have a lot of info on it in the mortal realm, but still terrified out of his mind. And he's no Luo Binghe, he doesn't have the sheer brute strength and power to just bulldoze his way through, so he has to be a lot more sneaky and cunning if he wants to survive.

The fic itself role-swapped LBH and SQQ so that SQQ was the half-demon (which lowkey fucks) and LBH the human, but I'm equally-if-not-more obsessed with the idea that LBH remains the half-heavenly demon and SQQ the human. If only because I keep thinking about SQQ befriending some demons (particularly and specifically a group of succubi) and they grow very attached to this Human Cultivator so through magic plot stuff they create some kind of seal/illusion/talisman that makes SQQ appear as a demon because a human cultivator in the endless abyss may as well be the equivalent of putting a giant neon target on your back.

And iirc Shen Jiu was taught demonic cultivation by that one guy(?? i've only been here a week so im not caught up in ALL of the lore yet) so that could totally happen here.

(On the other end of the realms, poor Shizun Luo Binghe is just. losing his fucking mind over losing his most precious and beloved disciple. About .5 seconds from burning down the peaks himself. somebody sedate him.)

The Endless Abyss sucks and SQQ is having a really terrible time and can feel himself going lowkey mad, but also holy shit look at all this WORLD-BUILDING. look at all this flora and fauna, and oh if he had the equipment for it he'd be writing all of this down. ALL OF IT. He was kinda-sorta-already planning on never leaving the Abyss as some sort of fucked up self-exile and self-preservation thing, but now he might? actually just?? never leave if he can help it, like he lowkey likes it down here.

anyways the next time anyone ever sees SQQ again he's got hair so long its almost touching the ground and he's either in rags and half-feral or he's been completely dolled up by his adoptive succubi sisters and still about three seconds from biting anyone who tries to touch him. (he's also lowkey trying to book it back down to the abyss even if he has desperately missed all of his friends and shizun)

A question about My immortal soul.

Let's imagine a situation where one of them lost his memory, completely or until a certain event that changed his life in a different direction.

Will the second one take advantage of the situation, for example, by turning him to his side, or will he help return his canonical memories?

Hmm, probably unexpected answer, but I think out of two of them Chase would be the one to try and get First's memories back if it ever happens, while First would not go out of his way to make Chase remember.

Now I know, it would seem more logical for Chase to take advantage of the situation, because evil and etc. and First to do the 'right' thing, BUT hear me out -

Chase Young is an opportunistic being - we've seen him use situations to his advantage countless times, and he is not necessarily above underhanded moves when it comes to getting what he wants... but he is also an arrogant, confident person, who doesn't do things head on/in a simple way. He is someone who prefers his targets/opponents to be... sorta aware of the fact that he so cleverly manipulated them/took advantage of the situation. Like, for example with Omi - there were so many times that he could have just took Omi, by stealing him away and forcing him to be his student, or even I dunno, find a wu that wiped memories and convinced Omi that they were on the same side? Heck, even when he did actually turn Omi evil, by removing his good chi, he backed that up with a real/main plan that hinged on restored Omi's honourbound word. There is also this kinda sadistic glee in him, for his opponents to know what he did - that they were so soundly beat.

So, if we do imagine that First lost his memories and Chase did just tell him that First was part of Chase's army... than what? Sure, he could probably get some satisfaction of being the only one who knew about First's real life, and sure, if Chase is 'in love', it probably wouldn't even matter much to him to have such a knowledge advantage, because now he had First to do as he pleases... but is this First still the First he got interested in? I mean sure, the battle skills probably didn't get anywhere, but it wasn't the only reason he got so involved with First. After all he had countless warriors of the same level skills in his army already, how would this wind wiped First be any different? The spark of interest and spice would kinda dull, the thrill of battle and the chase would feel less potent and in the end it would feel like Chase did not actually win.

Tho, I guess if you headcanon Chase differently than I am, (more sadistic and bat-shit crazy possesive evil???) he would undoubtedly do that and wouldn't be bothered by it, but the Chase in my head, would not be satisfied with such a luck-luster win and no ability to actually enjoy it fully, by lording it over First.

(Though I'm not going to deny, there is a possiblity of an absolutely devastating angsty Amnesiac First AU in my mind now, where both of those idiots suffer if Chase does keep First by his side.)

Now, when it comes to First Ninja in this imagined scenario - the reason I believe he would not actively try to return Chase's memory, is because First Ninja can be much more underhanded than we think sometimes (he just controlls himself better about it lol) AND its rooted in the reason why Ultimate Lesson exists. As we all know, the reason Ultimate Lesson is important in Ninja's career is because, the more power Ninja gains over his tenure the more possibility of corruption exist, because as we all know - absolute power corrupts.

Now, imagine Chase Young - an immortal with centuries of knowledge and memories and experience - suddenly loosing all of that... does it mean that automatically this loss would equal a return of Good!Chase but in Heylin!Chase's body? I mean the power is still there, just the knowledge and memories are gone. Or is it just the same evil!Chase but... with no memories? Would he still be a dick, lol? Maybe First Ninja will think that with no knowledge of power, of the corruption, he could sway Chase to make decisions not ruled by the it? Not that First would actively try to gaslight Chase into being 'good' but more of his real uninfluenced self? Maybe Chase will decide to do something good with his immesurable power on his own will? After all, not everyone is born evil, Maybe they grow up to be dicks, but not like 'destroy the world' evil, lol.

To be honest, even in this scenario, I feel like it could backfire in some way, and in the end First would be either forced to help Chase return his memories due to circumstances or Chase will somehow regain them himself (he is overpowered like that ,lol), but it also would STILL be a win for First Ninja, because there would be a lesson in that experience for Chase.

Also, Im just really getting vivid images of First smirking at Chase and saying that for all his talk about Evil, Amnesiac Chase sure loved to be a hero and doing good things, and Chase immediately shooting it down by saying that Amnesiac Chase was doing that not because he loved being good, but because he loved being good for First, and winking at flustered First. (but the true answer is that it was both reasons lol.)

Man, all those ideas make me want to try and write drabbles/short one-shots for some of these AU scenarios. xD

Dnd lore is so crazy. I had to read up on Dragonborn lore for my homebrew character since she's mixed and was like "what the fuck" Everytime I learned something. And then I completely forgotten about teifling lore bc my campaigns don't really play on the concept of ppl hating teiflings.. then I played Buldars and had to deal with ppl being so mean to my Teifling for just existing..
