Wildcards!

Session 4 time! For some fun, I decided to add a death count for just the wildcard. Just to see how deadly each one is. The death count will be delayed a bit to figure out how many deaths are wildcard caused. It’s also under the cut for added spoiler protection.

Session 1: Shifting shrinks you, jumping grows you.

Session 2: Constant Hunger III. You can eat everything, but food restores no hunger (instead increasing the hunger effect to 8), and each item gives a different effect. It changed twice more during the session.

Session 3: The Immortal Snail. Everyone has an immortal snail that chases them down, it can mine, fly, teleport, and it speeds up when further away. Nothing can stop it. (It can also rebound TNT, and it drowns the player if it is drowning itself).

Session 4: Time starts moving extremely slowly then speeds up over the session to being extremely fast.

Session 1: 1 death

Session 2: 6 Deaths + 1 Assist

Session 3: 27 Deaths

Session 4: 0 Deaths

Just in general I think trying to look to pre-late modern period history for validation of LGBT+ identities is an absolutely useless venture. Every single underlying human experience defined through the lens and framework of LGBT identity has always existed, but it's impossible to pin down Exactly who and what a figure might have been if they existed in this contemporary context and decided to self identify via these labels.

It's also a wildly reductive lens that flattens the complexity and variety of how sex and gender has been constructed across time in different cultures, how sexual norms have varied, etc. This is not a constructive approach to learn about history and you're never going to be able to fit historical figures neatly into little identity categories.

"QPRs and other non-romantic committed relationships are not inherently amatonormative because there existence challenges amatonormativity" and "the way that some people frame QPRs as inherently more than friends is recycling amatonormative rhetoric like 'they must be in a romantic relationship or at least a QPR because friends don't do that' and is no more helpful" are statements that can co-exist.

There are phrases like "romantic relationships for aros" that completely miss the point of QPRs and frames it like aros need to make up for not experiencing romantic attraction (at the same level as allos). Ignoring the way that some people treat QPRs and other non-romantic committed relationships as a stand in or a substitute for romantic relationships is ignoring the hurt this causes non-partnering people.

Notice the nuance in what I'm saying. I'm not saying that QPRs are amatonormative. I am saying that the way some people talk about them is. Also notice I'm not talking on an individual level, this isn't about people who feels their qpps are more important than their friends. I firmly believe everyone has the right to choose what relationships are important to them and how important they are. I am talking about people who make generalising statements that do a disservice to the point of QPRs and other non-romantic committed relationships and harms non-partnering people

had a conversation last week with a 10 year old girl about the s5 finale and i can’t stop thinking about it. she said nathalie is the best because she loves adrien enough to lie to him about his father so that he stays happy. completely convinced that emilie was resurrected at the end and shocked when i suggested otherwise. i’ve been dying to know what the children think happened and it’s so interesting

Howdy hello- guess who made a wings au :)

More to come with this eventually- I’m working on my designs for other characters at the moment, but for now we’ve got Red-Tailed Hawk for Curt and Eagle Owl for Owen.

For DMA I had Barn Owl wings because a) Barn Owls are beautiful and I wanted to draw the wings for them, and more importantly, b) Owen would probably want to disguise his wings, and it would make sense if it was as a different type of owl. I just assume he’d dye his feathers in some way or another. Look- just don’t think about it too much.
