1. What is their morning routine? What are the first things they do when they wake up?

-Wake up around 5 am. (six if he feels like sleeping in). Do morning stretches/yoga immediately. Fix his appearance/ brush his hair and teeth. Go over notes and documents from the night prior to see if he views anything differently now. Breakfast (light) with black tea. This is his me time of the day. Then choose an outfit and get dressed. Have the messengers sent in to hear any news or concerns. By around 7 am he's ready to greet the day :)

2. What is their nighttime routine? What are the last things they do before they fall asleep?

-He usually goes to bed around midnight or so. He bathes, chooses an outfit for the next morning, maybe does a face mask or sets some candles. Goes over documents and letters. For a little while in bed he'll read, either work related things or something he finds interesting. He falls asleep fairly easily but is a light sleeper and suffers frequently from insomnia, so its not unoften he'll miss a day or two of sleep and just spend the night working instead.

6. If they were videogame characters, what loot would they drop when they died?

Man I cant imagine him being killable in a videogame hes DEF an unkillable npc 😭 since hes literally a god. maybe he gets sick of the player trying to kill him and pretends to die, dropping the following- a bottle of wine, a coupon for scented bath salts, a collection of golden rings, and a moderate amount of XP. You run into him later in the game and can ask him like “didnt I kill you?” and hes like “that sounds like a personal problem. But try it again and you wont be as lucky” and then any further attempt to attack him just ends with the game crashing.

3. They’re locked out in the rain. What do they do?

Start crying probably if hes wearing velvet or satin and then gets mad enough about being locked out (even tho he locked himself out) he kicks in a basement window or smthn and crawls in and ends up falling on his face. A nice plate of assorted cheese, a bottle of champagne, some fine imported silks unavailable from anywhere local, a darling fancy rat with a tousled coat, an ocean scented body mist, an arcane tomb bursting with forbidden energies, and maybe a beginners set of dulled throwing knives bcs he wants to learn how to be sexy but keeps cutting himself up when he tries w real ones :/

18. What do they do to cheer themselves up?

Buys himself things, spends time with his rats and talks his problems through with them, buys his rats costumes and accessories, throws himself into his studies, or if he's really feeling it then makes himself a bubble bath and gets champagne drunk in it while reading other arcane scholars thesis papers and scribbling down scorching reviews while mocking them aloud to the rats or whoever is unfortunate enough to be nearby.

-Suds considers himself too old and too jaded to ever do something like go on a date or have romance again. Of course that doesn't stop the occasional dream or fantasy of it from which he wakes up thinking damn :/ that hurted. Ideally its a picnic with just the two of them, they go to a pond or a spring and have biscuits and honey suds made himself. They feed the local squirrels and maybe share a glass of rose wine… they go home late through the garden and suds shows them the different variety of plant life he grows. They maybe hold hands :) and then share a kiss at his door.

15. They need to go on a 5 hour drive. How do they prepare?

Wakes up a little late and packs half in a hurry. Water bottles check. Snacks and food check. Pee bottle and tampons? Check, in case someone needs it. He respects women like that. Books on tape check, but also custom made cds for the occasion. Headphones and sunglasses check. MOST importantly a blanket and neck pillow, check. On god he is gonna be snoozin. Sun chips and arizona iced tea are his go too snack so also check.

*spits my coffee* (/jk) OK, so, this one's hard so I had to think for a while, but for (high) fantasy anime with no romance or harem we have a few options:

Dungeon Meshi - you may have seen it in your dash, because Tumblr absolutely LOVES it. Comedy fantasy about an adventure party exploring a dungeon who lost a member of their group to a dragon and want to rescue them. They have no funds to go, though, so they start cooking and eating monsters in the way. Ppl like saying some of the mcs are coded as autistic and tbh I don't disagree. 10/10 beautiful artstyle, amazing worldbuilding, and top tier animation, same studio of Kill La Kill and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, if you know it.

Hunter X Hunter - i had actually forgot thid one as I raided my mind for anime that fit your description—which is funny because this one is A Classic and one of my forever favorites. It's about a boy whose father left him when he was a baby to become a sort of adventurer; what in this seting we call a Hunter. When he turns 12, he decided to go on a journey to find out what about being a hunter is so great that made his father leave him...by, of course, becoming a Hunter too. 11/10, amazing soundtrack and colors, the voice actors totally kill it (Maryia Ise, who acted Ray in The Promised Neverland is there two and her voice is just *mua*) and the story in general is beautiful. Quite the Battle Shounen too, if you may. It is also divided in two anime, the 1999 version and the 2011 version, which is longer and adapted more of the manga, and is also the most famous one. The first episode of HxH 1999 also has some lore exposition we don't get in the other version, so if you don't mind seeing the Ep 1 twice, I 100% recommend it. Also a banger bc of the platonic relationships.

Magi: The labyrinth of magic - literally nobody (hyperbole thats too close to reality) knows this anime but it's also one I really like. It is sorta inspired in the A Thousand And One Nights tales and is about a very very poor dude who one day finds this boy—this weird boy, who appears to have the powers of a top-tier magician; what in this setting we call a Magi. With his help, the guy decided to raid a 'dungeon' and gain the power of a Genie to conquer his dreams. 9/10, it's not that much of A Master Piece but it's a very good anime. It def loses points bc of some intersexist moments but if you can enjoy it despiste that its totally worth a shot. For me an element that truly shines on Magic is also its worldbuilding and especially the magic system. It's the most Hard magic system I've ever seen I think??? And it's just chef kiss.

The anime has about 2 seasons of good size, and I found it pretty enjoyable, but it doesn't adapt a huge part of the manga which is very frustrating, so I'd advise you to read the manga too, if you like manga or want to try.

There IS also some side plot romance between two of the supporting characters that starts about near the middle but it's not very Big but it may not 100% fit your order bc of that.

Magi: Sinbad no Bouken - The Diary of Sinbad is the spin-off of the main Magi series, and in my opinion it might be even better sometimes. The anime is way shorter than Magi (with what, 12 episodes?) so for this one i much more recommend the manga than the anime, BUT the anime is also good.

It tells the story of the son of a desceased fisherman named Simbad, who is recruited by the military service for a mission of cleaning a misterious building magicians have decided to call 'the dungeon'. Sinbad hates his homecountry's military, but when he finds out that who cleans it will have imensurable power and gold, he decides to go to heal his sick mother. Over the course of the story, Sinbad goes on a lot of adventures to make his goals a reality and its SUPER good.

Sinbad takes place 14 years before Magi and focuses more on the setting itself, not telling us much about the magic system and not focusing on it much like the main series does. This one got no romance from what I remember, and the cast is very endearing.

One Piece - another ABSOLUTE classic. This anime is famous because A. It started in 1997 (ish) and its still being released to this day. It's got like a thousand episodes (LITERALLY) by now? For reference about twice of Naruto Shippuden. And B. IT IS INSANELY EPIC. I haven't watched it myself but I know it's good and I also know there's no romo bc the author said in an interview i think that they don't want any characters to be involved romantically in any way. It's basically a pirate adventure story with insane character proportions (in the bad way when it comes to girl charactets though) and it's pretty celebrated as one of the best anime of our time.

10:38 PM 9/16/2020 You can seep in all the nostalgic Final Fantasy music you want, but I'm just not feeling this new Final Fantasy.  When I think of Final Fantasy---what I PERSONALLY like about FF, it's that almost-steampunk mix of scifi and fantasy magic.  I love that modern, urban fantasy mixed with ancient magics.  That anachronistic amalgamation in the art style that can't really be placed anywhere.  

But even this costume design is so distinctly historic European.  With regular names like Joshua.  

The gameplay looks nice tho.

I don't think I'm interested in FF16.  Even if FF15 was disappointing, I loved Nomura's art style, the world design that is blatantly more than just "sword and sorcery" fantasy,...  I don't think I'll get Final Fantasy XVI.

11:17 PM 9/16/2020 Oh, PS5, you do look nice.  But I promised myself that PS4 would be my last console.  I just have to face facts now: I dont' actually play videogames much anymore.  It used to be a big part of my life.  An enormous part of my identity.  And I didn't want to let it go.  But I have to face the reality.  My backlog didn't pile up worse than normal gamers' for no reason.  I don't feel motivated enough to engage in such an active passtime anymore.  I need passive entertainment now in my "old age".  And look how overactive I already am, just reacting, making fan-art, and writing essays about all that passive entertainment I've been absorbed into instead.  I guess I'm too old and tired for videogames.  ;_;  Well, playing them, anyway.  I have enough fun watching let's players, and I waste enough time engaging with fan-art/fandom with just that already.  If I added gameplay time, I probably wouldn't have time to eat/sleep. And I'm too old now to not sleep, regardless of how much I already stave it off.

The Report Card – Fantasy High Sophomore Year Ep 4

Skipper Thistlespring and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

We pick back up at The Swan’s Little Parade where rich people shenanigans are taking place. Gorgug breaks from the group to try and call Zelda. When she doesn’t answer, he leaves the saddest, sweetest apology voicemail ever. Lou breaks. Siobhan breaks. I break. 

Meanwhile, the rest of the group gameplans. Adaine pushes back against the idea that they have to talk to Aelwyn. Her parents are also an option and Aelwyn is not a good person, no matter how hot Fabian is for her. They also check out the guest book from the hotel and see that Bill Seacaster has stayed there several times, always right after a Garthy O’Brien (they see that it happened a bunch while they were in jail and it was probably in conjunction with when Bill was supplying palimpsests). Fabian recognizes the name as a pirate and Cathilda knows they run the Gold Gardens which is a floating pirate casino/brothel.

Kristen tries to release Gorthalax but just confirms that, because of the curse, doing it without messing up Gorthalax is gonna be tough. 

Sandra-Lynn goes to get Gorgug while Fig decides to careen the campaign into Crazytown and make herself Empress for Life of the same. She disguises herself as an old lady and tries to drop off a note giving her phone number as the new number of the cop she impersonated last episode (Detective Decker) so she can send a fully grown cop texts that would def get him Chris Hansen’d irl. Brennan decides that if she’s gonna keep making beds, she should probably lie in one of them for once and comes for her entire life in the funniest scene of the episode. No recap I could give can do it justice(links to clips here: x, x). Just know it ends with Fig running away and ditching her phone in a lake, which could very possibly have plot consequences if she forgets to replace her phone before she’s in a tight spot where it would be helpful and the absolute dumbest/funniest reason for a character death (I want to note that she did replace her phone technically, but with a huge, old, brick phone from Adaine’s jacket that can’t be as useful as an actual cell). 

ANYWAY

Tracker creates a Moon Haven in the van which is basically like a dope pillow fort with the Sanctuary spell cast on it and TARDIS bigger-on-the-inside spatial mechanics. Once they’re inside the Moon Haven, Ragh finally feels safe to tell them what he knows--which he does telepathically via Adaine and the message spell to make everything extra safe. Here’s a rundown of what he tells them:

He saw Kalina on the night of prom after the big fight. She was talking to Jace (the sorcery “teacher”) and an elven woman who looked like Adaine in black robes--Adaine confirmed with a picture that it was her mother. 

After being healed by Porter, Ragh started walking home and was stopped by Kalina who said she would kill his mom if he told anyone what he saw. 

Ragh’s mom Lydia is also a half-orc barbarian. She was on a mission in the Red Waste (where the 7 Maidens have their Sophomore Year quest) and they found a soul gem that was leaking something bad. She put it in her chest to contain the evil but at the cost of her health. She’s now extremely sick and in a permanent, medically-induced rage to keep her alive. She refuses medical treatment because no one can ensure the evil won’t be released if they remove the gem. 

His mom fucking slaps.

So that’s all deeply worrying. Adaine invites Ragh and his mom to live with them in the Haunted House and Fig offers to give them Dr. Asha’s number. Gorgug discovers the Van can become a boat which is convenient for the pirate-y things they have to do (the Golden Gardens is on the way to Falinel so they decide to stop there first). Fig has a heart to heart with Gilear while Adaine and Sandra-Lynn take first watch outside since the Moon Haven can only hold nine people. Adaine has to roll a wisdom save because she’s outside of the Haven’s protection and, even on a 16, the music goes all scary and she feels that something is in the tent with her outside. Something humanoid and her size with its knees to its chest. She senses that if she sees its face, something will happen to her and, instead of looking at it, she calls for Sandra-Lynn. By the time she shows up, the thing is gone. Fig assures Adaine that she’s not crazy or seeing things and, based on Adaine’s description, they’re able to deduce that it wasn’t Baron or Kalina. 

In the morning, Gorgug is pretty bummed and asks everyone to call him Skipper. Kristen is very down and Fabian is very not. They discuss whether they should tell all of the information from Ragh to the 7 Maidens (no) and whether Gorgug should call Zelda (yes). They drive into the sea. Gorgug finally talks to Zelda who is not happy with him for the ghosting and unintentional thoughtlessness. She’s even less happy with him when she realizes he forgot to get the generator they needed to stay in touch long distance. They’re breaking up. Do I mean relationship-wise or phone-wise? You don’t know? Well that makes two of us (Thanks, I Hate It).

They’re at sea for two days and then make it to the floating pirate shipwreck city of Leviathan. Pirate adventures next week, y’all!

Listen, I’ll stop putting her here for this when she stops doing this. Not to mention, she invented a whole ass person (HILDA HILDA?????) when she’s just been told that nightmare monsters are being generated from lies. Fig, my girl. Ms. Faeth. Please. I’m begging you. Please. 

Honor Roll

All of the Adults for Stepping Up

Every single adult in this episode was on fire. Fig confided in Gilear and he stepped up to the plate with a This-Is-So-Serious-I’m-Going-To-Use-Your-Actual-Full-Name, speech. Sandra-Lynn showed Adaine how to do some ranger stuff and jumped in to save her when she cried out. Cathilda was ready with warm milk and cookies she somehow was able to make in the van as soon as Adaine needed them. Sandra-Lynn also had a heart to heart with Fig and even Gorthalax, who’s still trapped in the ruby, gave Fig a spell slot back. And, of course, Ragh’s mom slaps. 

Random Thoughts

Adaine and Fabian both being uber rich but being on the opposite ends of the rich people spectrum is hilarious. Adaine is a “Sleeping in a van? I’ve heard of that but I’ve never gotten to do it. This will be fun!” Rich Kid  and Fabian is a “No turn down service? Hard pass,” Rich Kid. 

I was happy that they brought Ragh along for comedy reasons but who knew he was gonna be so chock full of backstory and important story beats? Like, every good GM has a way of making whatever story path that was chosen seem like the only way the story could have gone and I’m sure that whoever was picked, Brennan would have made that seem like the obvious and essential choices but I’m very happy they picked Ragh. Him talking about how much he loves his mom was so adorable! I love that he’s a big, good, dumb boy now and I’m happy they invited him to live at the Haunted House. That’s def gonna be good for some shenanigans (also love that Adaine’s only stipulation was that he had to be nice to Zayn and he was so eager to agree).  

Insane Ally Move of the Game: Deciding that Kristen genuinely doesn’t know Gilear used to be lunch lad at their school. Is Kristen even on the same plane of existence as everyone else. And then, later, “I worry about Gilear.” Do you really???

I totally forgot that Gilear was not only an elven diplomat but also a full on actual counselor. Makes it even wilder that he lost the job to Jawbone. Also, while we’re talking about him, I said we were gonna inevitably gonna get some more color on Gilear this season and we saw some of that in this ep when Adaine uses detect thoughts on him (which, btw, seems like a horribly invasive thing that people do very casually in this world) and we see that he gave up his career for Sandra-Lynn and then was wrecked when she cheated on him. Really puts a melancholy shade over his hilarious ineptness. 

Another thing I figured we’d see soon and that we’re starting to see is Adaine speaking up on Aelwyn. Two times this ep she tried to steer the group away from Aelwyn and seemed more serious than her usual trash talk. As excited as I am for pirate adventures, I want to get to Falinel ASAP to see how this shakes out. 

Also, on the mom front, wild that we found out that Ragh has a super dope mom in the same scene Adaine took another L and found out that her mom is also involved in this shadiness. Black robes are never a good sign. But I will say, just based on the story beats we’ve gotten, I’m not totally sold on the idea that she’s 100% bad--or at least that she doesn’t care for Adaine at all. I’m wondering if she wasn’t at school trying to find Adaine (possibly among other things).

Gorgug trying to let a full sized griffon land on his arm is hilarious. I love that. He’s so wholesome and dumb.

I love that when Emily was doing her Hilda-Hilda nonsense , turned into Detective Decker, and ran past the police house precinct, Lou was the only person who was on her wavelength and understood what she was trying to do while everyone else was like????

We find out in this ep that Van can control all the auxiliary functions of the van but not the actual driving, which is important to know before a sticky situation. On a more personal note, we find out that he was originally a planetar (second most powerful D&D angel) of Elysium, specializing in harmony, relaxation, and chill vibes and he got dumped and kicked out of heaven for sleeping through a call to battle.

We also get the cursed image of a van with hands which I knew was gonna be the shirt and lo and behold. 

“Fuck Me.”/”When.” Y’all are the worst. 

I love that Brennan mentioned Porter in Ragh’s flashback, fully knowing it was gonna trigger Emily. 

Fig’s new plan is to get all of her parents in a throuple and I don’t even know where to begin with that tbh so I won’t.

@voxfantasma made a comment last week that Sandra-Lynn very well could have seen Kalina which is why she can she her in the photo--which is an offhand comment I made when I was talking about the rules of the photo last week--and Ragh’s reaction to the photo is making me move this theory back up to the top spot. I still wish they would show the photo to more people so we’d have more data for this. 

I loved Fig tossing Fabian a bardic inspiration for a compliment even though he didn’t really need it. I also love that she has a rider in her rockstar contract necessitating gogurt be at all her shows for Gilear. 

Adaine paranoidly casting water breathing on everyone at the slightest hint that they may have to go near water. Our girl is learning from the mistakes of the last oracle. 

With the gang facing off against the Nightmare King and Brennan’s description of the thing in Adaine’s tent as being humanoid, about her side, and sitting in a sort of defensive way, I’m wondering it what it was was a manifestation of her own anxiety or something along those lines. Of course, it could just be a normal ass monster. Sometimes the scariest thing is your inner turmoil and sometimes it’s just a monster trying to bite your head off. 

We also learn that Cathilda has a super wild adventurer’s life before she settled down to be a maid--so she knows what she’s missing and she’s fine with it--and also that she is paid ridiculously well, which makes me feel better about what’s going on with her. Also, her moment with Adaine and the cookies was so sweet. My notes for that scene say, “Adaine loves Cathilda and so do I.”

I loved Murph and Riz going equally Pepe Silvia trying to anagram out Garthy O’Brien (which is also what I was doing, especially since Brennan specifically spelled out the name). Cheers to Murph/Riz and Siobhan/Adaine trying to single handedly keep the story on track--both in and out of character.

There’s a part in this ep where Adaine Ray of Frosts Fig who immediately Hellish Rebukes her and that’s truly the kind of step-sister shenanigans I want to see from them as much as possible please and thank you. Also, like I said before, it was very sweet of Fig to reassure Adaine that she wasn’t just seeing things in the tent. Her catfishing middle aged men aside, she can be very empathetic when she wants to be.  

Adaine cast (or tried to cast Friends) on the thing in her tent. And I think it’s very telling about her character that that’s the spell she would cast and not an offensive one. All the skipper talk this ep got the Gilligan’s Island theme stuck in my head (never seen an ep but my mom watches it sometimes) so the next day I was getting dressed going “With Fabian, and the skipper too, the oracle, the PI,” to the GI theme song. Also, did not know skipper and captain were the same title until Fabian got all upset and I looked it up. Yet another piece of information I know because of some game (along with what a panacea is (Dragon Quest 9) and where the CDC is (Pandemic)).

Gorgug, being offered a virgin daiquiri: No thanks, I’m driving. (I’ve said this before: Zac low key has the best comic timing of anyone.)

When Riz is angraming, one of the things he ends up with is something about a “night yorb” which Brennan decided is a real thing that both the Hangman and the Van are very wary about. Having the Hangman constantly being like, “SPEAK NOT OF THE NIGHT YORB!” and the Van being like, “Seriously, don’t fuck with the night york,” was so funny and such nonsense. I can’t wait for the night yorb mini boss fight that has to happen now because of the rule of funny.

Gorgug comes down from his call with Zelda and everyone except for Fabian (and probably Ragh who cannon-balls off the boat w/ Fabian and they both have to be rescued by Sandra-Lynn) knows exactly what happened immediately. Aw, buddy. One of my favorite things about media where you have kids saving the world is you have relationship drama and also the world is ending and it all feels equally high stakes. I find that so funny but also it feels very representative of what high school was like, or at least what it felt like (minus the literal apocalypse, obv. Or maybe not. Idk what was going on at your high school). 

Adaine continues lending out Boggy to anyone who needs him.

Also, Gorgug tries to build a cell tower with driftwood and parts from Adaine’s jacket. It’s not going super hot.

Im trying to think of questions bc i love these children but i cant so just. Yell about them? What are they like when theyre in fantasy higj school? What are their friends like? Do carey and killian slay at the pta meetings? Do they go to taakos school? What shenanigans do they get away with? What shenanigans DONT they get away with? This is all important information

i somehow forgot to mention this in the original post but johann, a dragonborn, is super purple and, despite being small as a baby/kid, he grows up to be, like, six and a half feet tall. noelle, an orc, was the taller of the two until johann was in his teens (he’s two years older than noelle) but she’s still over six feet tall and an absolute powerhouse

they all tower over carey and it’s not even like carey is incredibly short (i picture her at, like, 5′7), she’s just in a house full of giants

it’s obvious, as the kiddos get older, to see which of their family members had more of an influence on them than others (besides carey and killian bc both moms can be seen in the kids). johann is good at things “accidentally” ending up in his room (or his pockets). noelle loves to garden and seems to have a bit of an affinity for it. johann, despite not always gearing towards academia, loves to write. noelle can wield an axe with the best of them. davenport actually helped out with teaching johann how to drive (wagons, obvi, and totally not fantasy cars), and eventually taught him how to captain a boat, too. barry lets noelle in on all his scientific studies and he even shows her some of his necromantic studying, though that’s their little secret from kravitz.

also there’s def more little ways of seeing all the birds +co. in the kiddos, this is just 1) the first time i’m actually able to develop these kids outside of my own head, and 2) this is currently just me rattling off whatever i can think of rn

they’re both kinda jocks in fantasy high school, and then noelle also falls into the nerd category while johann is, like, a three-way cross between jock/prep/goth. also noelle is absolutely the one studying for exams while running on a treadmil

i don’t have a huge mental spreadsheet on their friends, but i can def say that the sweet flips household is practically a second home to all of their friends!!! as the kids get older, it’s common for at least one friend to always be sleeping over bc their house just radiates warmth and love.

johann does have a serious boyfriend when he’s 17 (and older) though!!! he’s a gnome and, okay, originally this was a normal dnd oc for me and i was making fun of my own shitty naming conventions so i just said that his name was “guy” but let’s just say, in this fiction, “guy” is short for something ajksjkdjkf. but yeah he’s a gnome and his class is barbarian and he can wield a huge axe (beefy gnome) and, again, still developing a lot of this fiction i’ve made in my head, but the way i kinda see johann and guy working out is that, like, they’re both pretty Up There people and super loud and bold and, to make a reference, very “rushing in” type of people? guy in a more “magnus” way, and johann in a very “holy shit i didn’t think this through but now it’s too late to bail” way. but, together? they almost calm each other down and they’re quiet and peaceful with each other and, it’s not that they tire each other out or bore each other, but it’s more so the fact that they don’t feel the need to be all “out there” most of the time. and for johann, guy kinda gives him the chance to actually just relax? like, he was a super shy kid, and while he did “grow out of it,” he sometimes feels that introversion again so, instead of overcompensating and forcing himself to be super uppity, guy lets him just relax.

the entire family loves guy but he was absolutely terrified to meet all of them because “johann i don’t know how else to tell you this, but it’s kinda intimidating when your boyfriend’s family consists of the most important people in the world”

oh they absolutely dominate the pta. carey is more so the mom who brings stuff in for, like, bake sales and shit like that (with the help of taako and lup because “guys you don’t understand, i need to be better than helen or else i will never hear the end of it”). they’re both the super intimidating parents when people mess with their kids. carey more so on the “i can rob you blind and you would have no evidence to prove it” spectrum. killian on the “i have very big arms and an even bigger crossbow but, oh yeah, do that again” spectrum

johann goes to taako’s school (which taako loves bc johann thinks the dueling is hysterical and he’s actually a pretty good student and also ren is one of johann’s favorite teachers/administrators). noelle goes to lucas’s school and taako will forever be offended

Honestly? Most of the comics I've read as part of #week_long_bookclub and #comment_storm fall under that umbrella. The vast majority of comics I've been introduced to through the CTP activities are really quite good (there's been exactly one in the book club that I couldn't stomach, and it was because of content/writing i personally found overly edgy & distasteful) - but for one reason or another, they're just not the type of comic I want to keep up with regularly. Too slice-of-life-y, too sad, i couldn't visually distinguish the characters that well, a super-sporadic update schedule/is on hiatus/is getting rebooted, the parts of the story I liked are clearly not things the author wants to focus on moving forward, a non-functional/poorly organized website, etc. All very good in their own right, but for one reason or another is not something I'd want to read one page at a time.

I think CTP should remain author-submitted. Readers could suggest to the authors to submit their comic, though.

the majority of comics I encounter everywhere aren't my bag of tea, TBH. And that's probably a big part of the reason why I'm making my own. Gotta feed my inner reader's needs, one way or another

A lot of Western-written comedy, specifically, are lost on me for cultural reasons. Often they seem to be referencing something that I'm not aware of. Or they have to be read in a specific tone that's lost on me, and probably would make a bit more sense to me if voice-acted. Things like that.

For me it's usually art style. I'm pretty picky about art style, and I know for a fact that I'm missing out on a lot of good comics simply because the art styles are not to my tastes. Any style that's too cutesy, simplistic, or "generic" anime just doesn't call to me. There have been outliers that have managed to draw me in anyway, despite the art style, but not a lot. I also just tend to not like gag-a-day comics or slice-of-life. If there isn't a larger story, I get kind of bored. That being said, I also don't tend to enjoy most superhero/ strictly action comics, simply because I can recognize the tropes from a mile away. Not that they're bad, just... outdated? In fact, I LOVE superhero movies, but most superhero movies have adapted the tropes into a new form for the big screen. Here's an example of a comic that I've seen around, laughed at a few of the jokes, and then never felt the desire to consistently read it, just because it's not my style. I find myself having the same problem with webcomics that I do with other media - I like to feel like I’m escaping reality. Stories set in our world are hard for me to sit through comfortably. That automatically makes general slice-of-life and romance stories hard for me to get into, unless there’s a strong fantasy/supernatural/sci-fi element to them. That already puts a lot of webcomics out of my range. Because there are SO MANY high school slice of life romance drama webcomics out there. Some of which I know are very highly rated and probably great. They’re just not what my brain craves

To be fair and honest... I don't really have comics I don't enjoy, or I guess fall too far outside my tastes? Out of the ones I've read, anyways! My reasoning is that I just don't have TIME to read too many comics out there, so when I decide for myself that yes, I'm going to sit down and commit myself to this comic, I look for and find things to enjoy about it, even if it's not normally my cup of tea. The story, the art, the style, the jokes... I try to keep an open mind and enjoy whatever I have the chance to get into, because as an artist I think about the person behind the comic and what kind of story they're trying to tell. I just... really like comics ahahah I wish I had more time to read more!!!!(edited)

I agree with @LadyLazuli (Phantomarine) on the 'set in our world ' bit! I find it difficult as well to immerse myself im stories that are in our world with exceptions of an alternate reality or large enough twist that would really differ from what the setting is. Slice of life doesn't really appeal to me, mainly because many comics don't have very stand out designs/personalities for characters that i would gravitate to. To be more specific to the question however, there are certainly quite a few amazing looking comics that don't really float my boat simply bc of style or execution of story or whatnot! Ive been reading one recently that hasn't really stuck to me or left any impact character/story wise, but.....im still reading it! so there def must be something!

There are a lot of comics I like but I find myself not reading them after I get to where they last update. I just rarely check in afterwards and usually by the time I do I’ve forgot the plot. I feel that every time I go back to a comic I have to read it all over again to get back to where I was. That can be really time consuming the longer the series is. I also try not to pick up long story oriented series if they aren’t finished because I know I’ll never get to the end of them.

I say this as a person in the LGBT+ community: I’ve become very tired of comics that centre around a person coming out. Which sucks because they’re super important! But I’ve lived the struggle, everyone close to me has lived the struggle. It’s tiring. What I want is genre stories where the characters are LGBT+, but that’s not necessarily the focus. Luckily in webcomics that’s easier to find. I still have to dig through coming out stories to find them though.

Same. I like stories where characters are just casually LGBT. Even to the point where they won't even mention that they're gay or lesbian and instead just show up in a gay relationship or naturally bring up their attraction to the same sex. Steven Universe does this really well, I think.

If I'm just speaking in general, usually comedy and slice-of-life comics will fall into this category for me even if they're fantastic. I am very, very particular about comedy and slice-of-life. Especially comedy, as I'm usually very specific about the sort of stuff that actually makes me laugh and entertains me. So honestly, a lot of comedy in comics is just not my jam. In a more specific comic sense, Kamikaze to name just one of many: https://kamikazeanimated.com/comic/ The art in the comic is fantastic, the characters really fleshed out and interesting, and even some of the comedy I like. Objectively, I think this is a fantastic comic with a ton of effort put behind it and one everyone should give a chance. That being said, for me personally, I just can't get into the pacing. It's a bit too slow for me even if I think objectively it works fine. So while it's a comic I might enjoy in bulk reads, as a page-by-page thing I just can't do it.

Thing is I have another short comic from about 6 years ago that I am now far removed from enough to read objectively. And I notice things I think are well done that I didn't notice before and big flaws that I haven't considered 6 years ago. So I'm worried since I can't read my current comic objectively I don't know what I need to improve on

That's definitely a struggle for me as well. It's what constructive critiques are for, BUT it's not easy finding someone willing, able and well suited to critique your work.

I used to actively solicit concrit on my comic. While I appreciate that every critic spent their time and effort genuinely trying to be helpful, the actual critiques weren't always helpful. You have to be a good critic (it takes skills), and you have to be the right critic for that specific story.

I think the problem is that most people who offer critiques are trying to shape the story in a way that they themselves would enjoy more, and not necessarily an objective improvement to the existing story. Offering a critique that also preserves the essence and heart of a story is extremely difficult.(edited)

Yeah, and even when you get two crits on the same "side" it's possible that it's just skewed data due to small sample size. Like, maybe both of the critics are simply not your target audience. I've found that it helps a LOT if you ask specific questions, instead of just asking for a concrit. Coming up with good questions can be very difficult, though! One I've asked in the past is "did you lose interest while reading the comic? If so, at what point(s)?" and I got helpful answers from that, even from people who weren't the target audience.

This might be getting off topic for the channel, but I think it's better to think of it as "effective for the goals of this work" rather than "objective." If you do X in your work on purpose, but X is not appealing to your target demographic, that's not effective. You need to either not do X, or re-define your target demographic. (Not necessarily the only options in that situation, but you get the point.)

I definitely think that "effective" is a better word for what I meant. It's all about intent. For example, most people generally agree that art style should be consistent in a comic, BUT in some cases (especially in comedy) switching up the art style for a scene or a panel to emphasize a point or subvert expectations (thus making the scene potentially funnier) is a very "effective" inconsistency. Basically, if something is effective for telling the story or instilling a mood, the objective view basically becomes null.

I can get into almost anything, there are very few stories I have trouble with, even if it's a genre I wouldn't normally like. Although there are a couple that I'm really picky with, and that's gag-a-day comics or general comedy. The only ones I can think I've actively read off the top of my head are Oglaf, Perry Bible Fellowship and more recently, Woman World. Other than those few the genres never catch my interest, I'm more for story/character driven comics, with plot and stuff like that. Sometimes a comic doesn't click regardless of genre, for example: Homestuck I tried sooo hard to read this one to see what the hype was about, but the farthest I've ever gotten was maybe 50 pages after several attempts, and that's not because it's bad! The comic just didn't click, and regardless of my taste I probably would recommend it to someone who likes those types of comics.

Thank you!! and yes it recolors, the mod is a mesh, a modification of the shape of the hair model, it does not change the textures. Right now it is only available for female elves! I may look into porting it to others at some point when I have some time 😊👍

Hello! OH I used to play FFXIV I love the game! I also saw some great mods for it lately, sadly you can’t import a new model to replace a DAI model for some reason, at least not using DAI mod maker, I’m not sure about Frosty since I haven’t tried it yet, but there is a ton of limitations, the number of triangles needs to be the same and stuff, I’m not sure if it is a thing with Frostbite or the compilers 😩 I haven’t looked much into it to be honest, but thank you for the offer!! 🤗

Name: ’Skurvi’ is from the disease scurvy which ailed sailors due to a lack of vitamin C from citrus. ‘Meeday’ is from Artemiidae which is the taxonomical group for Brine Shrimp. It also evokes Artemis slightly, who was a God that travellers could pray to for good weather. It also sounds a little like ‘mayday’ which is a way to alert to a problem, often on ships and aircraft. All in all, her name is a reference to explorers and sailors as well as dangers they present and face.

Strife Specibus: Spadekind. The reason she uses it is because she thought it was a neat lowblood thing to have, and decided to use it to show off her ‘exotic’ weapon to others. It’s also telling that a seadweller would use a ground-based tool. Furthermore, actual monks often used a kind of spade as a weapon, as it could bludgeon, cut, and dig for remains. It’s a subtle way to tie to her light theme of S.E.Asian spirituality.

So to clarify, this is basically a character based on like, rich white women who have just been getting soooo into ayurveda recently without regard for the racial and cultural history behind those practices.

I love her as a character and if I met her in real life she can catch these Tamilian hands.

Fetch Modus: Namemodus. Skurvi thinks this is some amazing prayercirclemodus that requires you to sit down, meditate and really spiritually focus on the item before it’s summoned, taking great skill to do so. Blood color: #7F007F -Violetblood, fits with the nauticality and exploration kind. Plus the type of people she’s lambasting are generally upper-class so it felt appropriate.

Ehhh I still don’t know if we have variants from the canon 12 colors unless they’re mutantbloods so if you wanna keep that compliant it’s better to bump it to #6a016a to be sure. But yeah she’s def a seadweller.

Symbol and meaning:It’s mainly meant to be a Brine Shrimp-like shape with the Violet language. It also resembles the symbol she uses in her quirk. I’d rather not use an extended zodiac sign.

It looks like, a little closer to indigoblood sign language than it does to violetblood? I’ll see what I can do to keep it with a few tweaks!

Trolltag: freshBodhisattva - ���fresh’ is just a reference to freshwater, a subtle way of showing how much time she spends inland away from seawater. It’s also a way of saying ‘cool’ or ‘hip’ which is something Skurvi would do. 'Bodhisattva’ is a but more fun of a term. It’s a term for someone who has achieved Nirvana but remains on Earth out of compassion for those suffering. This fits Skurvi extremely well, or at least how she sees herself; someone who’s completely spiritually 'chill’ and 'humbled’ but also goes around visiting those lesser off to 'be with them’ when it’s really just fuelling her own delusion. This isn’t even the first time 'Bodhisattva’ has been used this way; my favourite Steely Dan song of the same name is about a Western business man looking to the East for quick and easy spiritual enlightenment, conflating all of Asia into one big exotic fantasy.

Went on for a bit there, but the tag is about how Skurvi mainly perceives herself, both her spiritual zen and her 'fascination’ with landwellers.

I think if you wanna hammer home the fetishism I’d suggest freshKarma, mainly bc like…Bodhisattva is still a term that means a whole lot to some folks? Whereas like…at this point most Indians I know make a distinction between “kuhrmuh” and “car-ma.” The latter’s a white people concept that’s basically like “if you do something bad today then bad things will come to you tomorrow” whereas the former is a fairly simple concept: if you do not follow your dharma, then you are implicated in the consequences of that choice, even if such consequences only turn up in another life.

I kinda like that tag more because it basically immediately shows her whole ass.

Quirk:She replaces 'tT’ and any 'en’ sounds with ’¥’ the Yen sign. This is mean to be a joke to people who get tattoos of things like Chinese characters without knowing what they mean. Similarly, Skurvi has adopted this 'super cool symbol’ into her speech with the joke being to us is that is’s actually a completely mundane symbol. Symbolism aside, it resembles her symbols and horns somewhat, as well as a little 'v’ for victory sign on top. Really, the symbol and horns could use some editing.

Man yeah I like that enough that I wanna preserve the feel of your symbol to keep the quirk.

Special Abilities (if any):None.

Lusus: Seamomkey - A loving if distant lusus. This is because when Skurvi was still rather young, her lusus went into a state of Cryptobiosis, a real process Brine Shrimp can go through which is how they can be packaged and sold under their more popular name, Sea Monkeys. Because of the lack of a parental figure in her life, Skurvi has been travelling in order to make up for her lack of valuable Life experiences by creating her own.

Personality: Skurvi as she is right now is rather safe for a Violetblood. She doesn’t command authority, at least explicitly, nor does she intimidate others into doing what she wants, at least she doesn’t feel like she is. On outward appearances, Skurvi’s a rather friendly and outgoing troll, if a little privileged and caught up in her own bubble without really thinking about everyone else all that much.

Skurvi sees a value and mystique in the 'quaint’ way landwellers live, especially lowbloods. This outward and overt interest in them has made her somewhat antagonising in whatever school, couldn’t resist the pun, of other seadwellers she hangs out with. They call her an 'air-head’ because of how much time she spends on land. Skurvi doesn’t mind this name and actually embraces it, considering it a nice epithet of her story.

The actual meaning of the label isn’t wrong because as well as antagonising, zen, and amicable, Skurvi’s also kinda dumb. Like, gullible really. She’ll believe a lot of things you tell her if you add the caveat that it’s some 'ancient landweller secret’.

Skurvi’s based off a certain type of people that I’m not sure may be present all around the world? Before you head off to university in my country, a lot of people elect to go on a gap year in order to travel, explore and see the world much like Skurvi does. What this often actually involves is going to South East Asian, stroking a drugged-up tiger, getting a nonsense tattoo, buying harem pants and coming back so 'enlightened’ and 'spiritual’. Drug use is also pretty common.

I think her personality might need some more nitty-gritty to it, but this is what I have so far.

There’s a girl that used to be peripheral to my friend group who would jet off to various countries each summer and would like, come back from a fucking ashram and talk about how she truly understood how the other side lives. Nah, this is a well-rounded character because tbh that was her entire personality. Still is, a little bit.

Interests: Skurvi’s chief interest is voyaging, going out to land and finding people or places to meet and greet. She likes experiencing the landweller way of life in eating their food, going to their hives and making herself comfy. She’s often a little insensitive and somewhat patronising with her trips however, either antagonising the mid to highbloods she meets and often intimidating the lower bloods based on her high noble caste. If some noble barged into your house to be entertained, wouldn’t you be panicked?

Other than that, she often documents her trips on her blog. These often focus more on herself, how she experienced things, felt about things, and perceived things, so there’s rarely a name on it other than her own. She’s immensely proud of her blog and sees it as a shrine of sorts, a testament to how much she’s 'grown’.

Speaking of growing, she likes cultivating plants, and often decorates her house to try and replicate the zen and order she feels in landweller hives. Her sense of Feng-shui isn’t exactly refined and the plants she grows aren’t exactly traditional. Her use of them is 'spiritually medicinal’ but she really just gets baked out of her mind and falls asleep with reality TV reruns on.

I think her current interests are very rooted, sorry, in Life and could perhaps use one or two more 'out-there’ ones to not just simply have 'hippie stoner troll’.

I think if you want to add another aspect of hers, maybe she’s like…really into holidays? Like the kind of troll who knows it’s Alternian Pancake Day and of course she has the decorations for it! It also gives her a means to justify her zest for travel; she just loves joy, and loves collecting joyful experiences whenever possible!

Title: Page of Life, actively serves herself Life - After her lusus entered it’s catatonic state, Skurvi has been in a state of arrested development that she was very aware of at the time. She started travelling as a means to remedy this, taking active control of her own valuable growth experiences by going on 'enriching’ trips to better herself. Over time, she thinks that she’s been able to perfectly grow and mature as a person, achieving a zen state of being, hence her chill demeanour. In reality, she’s made little to no progress on escaping this arrested development, as she’s not really 'learning’ anything from her trips. They’re just a way for her to believe she’s gone on an amazin enriching quest where in reality she’s just barged into a random lowblood’s house, inadvertently intimidated them to spend time with her, 'teach’ her things and more often than not eats their food whilst taking a memento back, even if said memento is the lowblood’s only bowl for instance.

Right, I forgot that you and I use difference verbiage for classes! I typically think of Pages as an Exploit class, and given the verbiage you use I think I’d personally classify her as a Thief of Life? Like she’s suspending the growth of everyone around her to benefit her own, and is passively utilizing the rules of Alternian society to facilitate that.

D/Ancestor: I have a concept in mind for her dancestor, a person who travels to classify and examine Life as opposed to making experiences for her own. The dancestor is definitely more of a scientific explorer than a leisure sailor, like Charles Darwin 'hence the Seamonkey lusus’. As for the ancestor, I’ve got nothing clear honestly.

How about Land of Permafrost and Parthenogenesis (LOPAP)? The permafrost pretty much effectively leaves her landlocked and drives home her lack of development as a person! Which leads to her second word: Parthenogenesis, a method by which brine shrimp reproduce without fertilization. In her case, I think we could actually do something similar to paradox cloning to repopulate the planet’s citizens? i like this because it’s a case of borrowing from an existing duty with a purpose, stripping it of its context, and repurposing it for her own growth and development.

oh i finally listened to sawayama. i don’t think i listened to her first ep or maybe i did and just forgot but anyways................literally album of the year. blows basically everything else ive listened to out of the fucking water. ive loved clarence clarity for a few years now and his solo music is exactly my type but omg, sawayama was just so good. i love every song pretty much equally except snakeskin which is top of the list. i won’t go through individual tracks but ill write some thoughts on the songs i really loved at first:

dynasty is one of the best songs on the album. its so intense, such a good ass rock power ballad. so addictive. i get shivers every time. lyrics are just....AHHHHHHHHHH. i dont have a lot of notes on it its just really really good and makes me emotional tbh. i was reading a webtoon, Her Tale of Shim Chong, while listening to this and wow did i bawl my eyes out multiple times

xs is simply iconic. so so catchy and i loveeeeee love love love love how chaotic the production is but at the same time everything fits so well. i love how the chorus is delivered too, like how she sings one part and then whispers “more”. the acoustic guitar is so standout like thats sooo early 2000s and its incredibly catchy. the bridge....whew what can i even say. the bridge might be one of the best bridges in pop music. “oh me oh my where did it go awry?” I LOVE THAT SO MUCH LIKE WHO USES AWRY IN A SENTENCE OUTSIDE OF A BOOK? RINA SAWAYAMA THATS WHO. also the pun of using “tesla xs” was great. rinas vocals were so good too

stfu: i listened to this when it first came out and i loved it so much. why is she so innovativeeeee the switch btwn the heavy metal verses and the sweet chorus is so good. i watched her vid on writing it and she said the way she says shut the fuck up varies between like, how a teenage girl would say stfu when joking around, or when a woman is kind of annoyed but cant show it she’d be like stfu in a small voice. like i didnt notice that at first but when she pointed it out i was like omggggggg

akasaka sad: omg. the production. i havent listened to this song as much as i have the other tracks but this is def one of the most innovative of the songs on here. but i love the additional synths in the second chorus

snakeskin: best for last. ok so theneedledrop (i honestly dont know his real name i guess i could call him melon) said he didn’t like this song that much or something but i completely disagree. i feel like i have kinda similar taste to him but idk i think he likes experimental music in one direction whereas for me i like experimental but in another direction. i can’t describe it. but anyway this is my top track. i listened to this song for 3 days straight. so so so catchy. the way she stretches out “heart” in the beginning as the different instruments come it was just so excellent, i can’t help but sing it too. the prechorus is definitely the best part. i love love love it. the final fantasy interpolation is so good like i thought it sounded familiar but then i saw it pointed out by someone and i was like :OOOOO. another thing i love is the bell sound in the part thats like “l-l-l-like a snakeskin” it gives me vampire castle vibes. i havent listened to dubstep since i was like 12 but the sorta dubstep sound in the verses i liked more than i thought i would

but i fr do love every song on this album. theyre all good. these are just the songs i loved from the first listen, whereas the rest i think need time to grow on me. if she and clarence clarity dont get a grammy i’ll have to intervene.

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson - ASDYHFFJDKFD THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHINGGGGG it switches POVs between the two main characters who are twins but the writing styles differ between them based on their personalities and the writing overall is very beautiful and it’s amazing in general so PLEASE read it (one of the main characters is also gay and I know that’s something a lot of people look for so DO IT)

The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult - alright so this is my favorite of Jodi Picoult’s books but I’ve read at least ten of the many books she’s written and I would recommend them all.  It’s about the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor and a former SS officer who asks her to forgive him for his sins and then help him kill himself.  I love the way it explores the moral implications of her decision, which she doesn’t make until the end, but it’s v good.  10/10 would recommend.

The Legend Series by Marie Lu - Probably my favorite fantasy series.  If you like dystopias I would 500/10 recommend this one, it’s reallll good.

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand - this is a biography of Olympic track runner turned WWII bombardier turned POW turned Christian evangelist Louis Zamperini.  It’s really interesting, and I think it’s really amazing that he was able to overcome what he did.  I’ve also read his autobiographies and I would recommend those, too.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - this is definitely my favorite classic.  I think most of the reason I like is just how it’s written - the language is really flowery and dramatic, and I find it pretty.

10:38 PM 9/16/2020 You can seep in all the nostalgic Final Fantasy music you want, but I'm just not feeling this new Final Fantasy.  When I think of Final Fantasy---what I PERSONALLY like about FF, it's that almost-steampunk mix of scifi and fantasy magic.  I love that modern, urban fantasy mixed with ancient magics.  That anachronistic amalgamation in the art style that can't really be placed anywhere.  

But even this costume design is so distinctly historic European.  With regular names like Joshua.  

The gameplay looks nice tho.

I don't think I'm interested in FF16.  Even if FF15 was disappointing, I loved Nomura's art style, the world design that is blatantly more than just "sword and sorcery" fantasy,...  I don't think I'll get Final Fantasy XVI.

11:17 PM 9/16/2020 Oh, PS5, you do look nice.  But I promised myself that PS4 would be my last console.  I just have to face facts now: I dont' actually play videogames much anymore.  It used to be a big part of my life.  An enormous part of my identity.  And I didn't want to let it go.  But I have to face the reality.  My backlog didn't pile up worse than normal gamers' for no reason.  I don't feel motivated enough to engage in such an active passtime anymore.  I need passive entertainment now in my "old age".  And look how overactive I already am, just reacting, making fan-art, and writing essays about all that passive entertainment I've been absorbed into instead.  I guess I'm too old and tired for videogames.  ;_;  Well, playing them, anyway.  I have enough fun watching let's players, and I waste enough time engaging with fan-art/fandom with just that already.  If I added gameplay time, I probably wouldn't have time to eat/sleep. And I'm too old now to not sleep, regardless of how much I already stave it off.

born and raised in wilmington, delaware on the du pont family ranch, reese learned how to ride and compete on her family’s thoroughbreds. she’s a seasoned equestrian who typically competed in eventing and throughout the years had accumulated a series of ribbons and trophies between dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. definitely was a horse girl growing up and tbh still is???? definitely not the type to eat grass anymore BUT if given the chance she will not shut up about them.

a veterinarian before marrying into the du pont family, reese’s mother had their ranch doubling as both a home and veterinary clinic where the kids would help with the animals and keep them company. this caused reese to develop a soft spot for them, one that contributed to her going vegetarian at the age of 12 and eventually vegan at 15. it was also this love of animals that led her to wanting to help the environment they lived in and so her parents put her in girl scouts and eventually her love for the outdoors would cause her to join steinhardt’s outing club.

while her mother, eleanor, also helps out with the du pont family business of breeding thoroughbreds as well as run her clinic, her father, pierre, is a chairman of dupont, a conglomerate who got its start in the black powder market before expanding into chemicals for agriculture, materials science, and specialty products.

he was the type to have HIGH expectations for his family, expectations that reese never met. not that she cared to. definitely not a daddy’s girl, she’ll be the first one to call her father out for being a pompous douche straight to his face. probably quoted this to her father during a thanksgiving toast of “what are we thankful for this year”.

the black sheep of her family, even at a young age she could be found stirring up some trouble and almost always dragging one of her siblings or cousins along with her. a rebellious child who didn’t like being put into a box, she lived in a fantasy world of whimsy, often playing make-believe much to her father’s chagrin. she believed in all things fantastical from fairies to mermaids and while pierre tried to stifle those thoughts, they stubbornly remained.

even through her teenage years she’s held onto the firm belief that barbie lore is real. no one knows if she actually believes that or if it’s all of the drugs and her love for the movies getting to her head, but when confronted about it she will always be adamant that it’s a legitimate form of history.

speaking of history, her concept of it is slightly skewed?? def has weird beliefs of what communists are?? like you’re an android user??? suddenly she thinks you’re a communist????

i guess now would be a good time to preface that she’s dumb. stupid. an idiot. the list goes on but when i say she’s lacking brain cells… i mean it. the definition of head empty, she probably has a bunch of rocks where her brain should be sdfgh. but really, she can be innovative when she wants to be but academically she just doesn’t care to do well. in high school she ditched classes more often than not and was probably the kid smoking under the bleachers.

but where she lacks in intelligence she makes up for in brawn??? def the brawn over brains type who was a jock in high school. competed for her school’s equestrian team but also was on the fencing and archery teams. she once begged to be put into archery lessons after seeing the princess diaries 2 and fencing just came along not too soon after. she also used to run track and play soccer but those two sports ended after her senior year of high school although she probably still plays for the steinhardt’s intermurral league as well as any athletic competitions her sorority, tri-zeta ( zeta zeta zeta ) enters.

definitely the jack of all trades type except she’s passable at a whole bunch of things but good at none of them. probably can change a tire but it’ll need to be changed again soon. can bake a cake but it’ll be a little dry. the list goes on. she’s just very curious and picks up a lot of things but gets bored of them easily so she changes to the next thing.

okay i know i said she could bake a cake but she really…can’t. like with supervision she probably could but she’s impulsive and following directions for that many ingredients??? impossible. she just gets tempted to toss everything into a bowl and wing it and she does that every time. she can however make rice krispy treats. especially if they’re suppose to be edibles dfghj. but ya, don’t ask her to cook bc she can. not.

a stoner and overall drug connoisseur, she’s probably most known for being that kid who forgets to bring their backpack to class but don’t worry!! she remembered her juul!! has a collection of juuls on her person at all times. definitely that party girl who shows up hungover to class whenever she did bother to show up.

calls herself an entrepreneur because she used to sell edibles and other drug-related things and definitely was that tweet where she would give discounts if you signed an environmental petition or went to a protest.

i’m also not saying she’s out here to ruin your life for her own whims but like home girl has ZERO boundaries for anything. if you want to say she was a homewrecker in a past relationship??? honestly full send because it probably was her. morally she’s chaotic neutral and doesn’t care to be good or evil, she just wants to live her life of chaos and whatever happens happens. it should also be noted that she’s selfish. she puts herself first and others second always.

god someone pls try to start a fight with her. she’d either pat you on the head and ignore you OR go feral and just…foam at the mouth and bite you. probably claims to have gingervitis which is where she like…sprays vegan whip cream into her mouth and just… attacks you. for fun.

WOW ALMOST FORGOT but she’s a big larper!!! loves to go to the ones that are historical-esque where she can be an elf ( because she has a collection of elf ear tips dfghjk ) and acts as a knight/ranger by using her ACTUAL fencing, archery, and equestrian skills. she learned sindarin ( elvish ) for this but also she’s a big lord of the rings fan in general so it just worked out. her character’s storyline is her acting as her cousin, taay’s, protector but she has been known to enroll in a few competitions regarding any of her three skills.

currently selling moonshine alongside her roommates of trap zeta ( also known as the residents of the moonshine & roses subplot ) and so if you saw her running around with stolen pressure cookers, that is why !! making your own alcohol is illegal, but selling it??? even worse so they only sell it to trusted customers and anyone vetted by their usual customers. they probably have secret passwords and shit just like the prohibition period.

speaking of trap zeta, with the exception of fraternities on greek row, they throw the biggest parties. their jungle juice??? fire AND strong but also, they keep it in like....these dispensing chugs with a key so the only ones with access to fill them up or trap zeta themselves. they also have a stripper pole ( or two ) around their living room so like...ya get lit, get twisted, go off ig.

let it be known that their sorority, tri-zeta, is actually known for their stellar amount of community service but after the residents of trap zeta moved in together their sophomore year, the rep for partying started to increase and that’s why the home of muse 46-50 is nicknamed trap zeta. reese has probably been sent to standards way too many times and only got in and is still in bc her mother is a very generous alumni of steinhardt’s chapter of tri-zeta. 

a broadcast communications major, she’s a social media intern for steinhardt’s barstool page but most importantly has a whole tik tok account alongside her roommates dedicated to their college antics. think the hype house except it’s not pg-13 dancing and rly just their crackhead, drunk antics. might eventually make a playlist of tik tok’s that are probably posted on their account, we’ll see.

okay so you know the whole exposing of secrets from last semester??? reese doesn’t usually get mad but rn she Big Mad. like not only are they be scrutinized by the dean but their sorority is too and suddenly tensions are high between tri-zeta bc if trap zeta gets caught they all suffer and their chapter will be shut down and it’ll be a whole ass mess. atm she suspects their customers and even their somewhat rivals, the drug dealers of the ludes plot, but does she suspect anyone from the house??? no not rly

Finally the time for school was here. Something to set my mind to, something to hopefully motivate me and get me started in the right direction, or at least that’s the intention. My memory really is bad thinking back on this moment, due to anxiety, antidepressants i’ll be taking and emotional trauma, but i’ll get to what I remember. I remember finally getting ready to go to school, me and Moo Moo were excited to do this together. We were starting on our future, taking classes together, being there for each other, and really getting along. We started spending long nights at her moms work to do homework or me spend the night so I could ride with her to school the next day or drive her. It really was a lot of fun and she actually kept me motivated and focused. I quit smoking and drinking for the most part except some weekends, but there began to be a downside to quitting so abruptly after doing it so much in the summer. I went to school and it was like I couldn’t focus, I couldn’t remember anything well, I couldn’t find my way around to classes, and It took me a really long time to learn the layout of the school. That was the easy part, but anything that haunted me before the smoking and the summer, all came flooding back at once. Drake, bullying in school, past family life, the girl from my dreams, came back to attack me. That was just the depression part, but I felt this feeling in my stomach and a lot of pain with it, so much anxiety. I’d never felt anxiety like this so constantly. It wasn’t just occasional, it was almost nonstop. It hurt to live, and do this. It got worse as the weeks went by from quitting. I saw bugs flying around in the classroom that weren’t there. I forgot where I was or what I was doing walking down a hallway and was really freaked out. I told my mom at that point I couldn’t take this shit anymore and I needed help and I wanted to get on antidepressants or something to control the anxiety. So we went to the doctor and told them about it and the Drake thing and so they put me on Prozac. Prozac Moment-My first night on it was the scariest. I had a total freakout when I took it, maybe from last nights drinking but I felt scared and wanted to kill myself. The next day, way better. I masturbated and it might have been the best feeling in the world. It felt like every stroke was an orgasm, but it wasn’t even that, it was just a full body intense feeling, and when I came, oh I came. It was like every ounce of my being was coming to that orgasm and I exploded everywhere. I told Moo Moo, and we had sex and if masturbation wasn’t intense enough, this was a whole new level. Though it was sexually gratifying, the emotional had its ups and downs. Some days i’d be really hyper, other days i’d be on a cloud and nothing mattered and everything was more beautiful than I ever believed could be possible, then there were days where I wanted to be dead more than anything. School was hard to keep up with on these meds, and my feelings changed about my relationship and more. I felt my self being attracted to people I normally wouldn’t have, like literally a different selection of attraction, I lived very fantasy like, who I was changed, I talked to people a lot and wanted to interact, I rekindled old friendships and it was really weird. It didn’t terribly change how I felt about Moo Moo but I wanted more intellect and sociability out of her because that was who I was then. I def had weird moments. I broke the screen of my ipod and have no memory of dropping it, I saw something run across the road and nothing was there, and on the weird night, I heard the ocean outside. Waves and wind and everything. While listening to music, it was like I could imagine and picture every lyric the bands were saying and I just knew what they meant, I experienced a clarity no one could ever know. I put my whole life together in a night and knew why things happened to people or me or anything, I spent two hours talking to Moo Moo about this crazy feeling and mindset. The negative is I could never sleep and the anxiety was still bad and I took kpins to sleep but i finally snapped and tried to kill someone and so I had to get switched off. generic celexa?-This is where my true hell began, I’m not sure if this was what I was on but I never contemplated suicide so much in my life. First off, I couldn’t have an orgasm unless I had sex without a condom, I couldn’t give myself one, and my whole body was really numb. I couldn’t feel much of anything. I felt very dissociated and alone, so alone. Every thought was sad and pathetic. What was the purpose of living feeling like this? All I felt was pain and sadness and my own mind was all I had even if people were there for me. I did nothing but lay in bed any chance I got. My grades were dropping, I was def skipping classes and failing math. I hated my life so much. I explained a rainy day to Moo Moo in such poetry that it reminded her of a famous writer who wrote just like that. I believed I def had the talent, and she assured me I was a good writer, very philosophical, beautiful thinker. She told me she was still there for me and loved me and though I couldn’t feel anything at all but sadness I knew I did somewhere in my heart. I tried breaking in to her mind a bit more and all I can remember is reading her poetry, and how she was like a bird trying to get free from a cage, that pained me but I felt like I understood though she said I didn’t. The pain became to much and my brother brought this stuff called Red Magic over. It was synthetic marijuana but 5 times more potent. Mixed with the antidepressant though, not really thinking about what could happen, actually felt incredibly amazing. It added to the trip not being able to feel anything so I just felt part of my environment, but my trip was different than other peoples. My first night I was so floored that forward was my floor, and my directions were different, my TV spun in circles, I didn’t really understand who I was, who these names I knew of were, it was like a psychological battle but it was incredible the way it felt. I heard sounds 5 times louder than ever and saw crazy things and felt weird. The next night I was so high I couldn’t stand up. Any game I played looked like the real thing. The next day, it felt like I was my brother, and he was who I was, then he left and it was like I became part of nature and was one with it. When I wasn’t on it I still had a crazy afterglow and things seemed longer or narrower or bigger or smaller than normal. I went to class after smoking it and it was the trippiest thing I’ve ever experienced. After a bit of time I had to get off of the meds cause it was making me crazy and I couldn’t be the bf Moo Moo needed me to be and I felt like we were drifting apart. I begged her to please understand and wait and that if the next meds didn’t work i’d get off them and try to get better without it so I could be me. Throughout all this time I was a mess. I cried a lot, I begged to god to either save me or kill me, I didn’t believe in god for a bit, I was more to my self, I talked to Moo Moo about my feelings a whole lot which later seemed to be a mistake. Who wants to take care of a depressed crazy person right? I probably seemed pretty out there a lot on those meds. Buspirone-I started taking this, and it didn’t last to long. I was on it for a few weeks but it did nothing but make me angry and aggressive and not a fun person, I got off them but I still had a month before it wore off. I was kind of excited to be me after half a year and hoped for the best but sadly it was to late for me and Moo Moo. I noticed she was acting different, we broke up, got back together because I really wanted her, and I knew she was talking to some guy before it even happened. I got off the meds for her, I just needed some time, I realized I truly loved her and she was the one I seriously wanted to spend my life with, but it was to late for her, and we broke up. I know it was rough but all I needed was a little more time but she wouldn’t give me a chance, even after telling me the reasons, which I could have changed just for her and actually did most of those things later in the future except maybe drink and smoke, but it was to utterly late for her, and though I know now maybe its cause she needed to explore or she was in a different stage in her life, it was the worst thing for me to have to face when I was going through the drake court case and putting myself together because I went way downhill after that, my whole life, everything I put my heart and world in to left me all alone and it destroyed me and has had effects up to this day, but that’s a story for the next blog.
