If the revolution is supposed to be political first and social later, it would create an apparatus whose sole function would be the struggle against the supporters of the old world, i.e. a negative function of repression, a system of control resting on no other content than its “programme” and its will to realise communism the day that conditions finally allow for it. This is how a revolution ideologises itself and legitimises the birth of a specialised stratum assigned to oversee the maturation and the expectation of the ever-radiant day after tomorrow. The very stuff of politics is not being able, and not wanting, to change anything: it brings together what is separated without going any further. Power is there, it manages, it administers, it oversees, it calms, it represses: it is.

also i thought that bored gay werewolf referring to werewolf transformations as ‘transitions/transitioning’ made for some really funny lines out of context

Apologies for jumping on your tags @mysticsoldiersailorhylia
#thank you op #also #a sidenote on bras that blew my mind #apparently the classic underwire bra is supposed to touch your ribcage between your breasts and if it doesnt then it doesnt fit right #i never once had a bra that did that
But: yeah most people don’t realize this, and it’s the fault of bra companies ironically enough
I was a mail carrier for a year and change ten years ago, and I nearly started a side blog just for cover photos of Victorias Secret catalog models whose bras obviously DID NOT FIT THEM. How are you supposed to know how a bra is SUPPOSED to fit when the advertising for them shows badly fitting bras?!
You see this *everywhere* once you know what to look for!
The bit in the middle of underwire bras is called the gore, and yeah, it’s supposed to be flat against your rib cage. Not on top of boob. Not angling away from your chest. FLAT.
The whole point of underwires is to hold your boob. All of your boob should be *in* the wire!
The band should not be climbing up your back. The straps should not be digging into your shoulders even if your boobs are huge, because 80% of the support should be coming from the band.
On r/abrathatfits, most people find that they need to go down multiple band sizes and up multiple cup sizes. We regularly get people who think they’re 36c’s find out they’re 32g’s. Vickie’s Secret tried to stuff me into a 34d and I’m a (uk) 30ff.
(This is why it always cracks me up when people say VS is for “skinny people with big boobs” because they do not in fact sell any bras that fit skinny people with big boobs; last I checked they didn’t sell band sizes below 32!)
And that’s not getting started on shape; most American bra companies make cups that are too shallow (think a drinking glass vs a bowl that holds the same amount of water—most people are closer to the drinking glass than the bowl), and so a lot of people have to get bras made in the UK or Poland. (Thankfully many American specialty shops sell UK bras, and so does Amazon)
Anyway, if you want to see what bra sizes look like on people in bras that actually fit, look up the Irish Bra Lady on instagram!
Things about boobs that everyone should know
Because I just keep finding out people don't know these things!
Most boobs "sag."
Actually, on that note: very very few people have the stereotypically perfect breasts that are round and perky and don't touch your ribcage/belly. Here is an entire gallery of non-sexualized, perfectly normal breasts. Here is another one, but in one image. There's an incredible range of size and shape!
Also related: very few people fit those molded foam-cup bras. Because very few people have a boob that shape. "Then why are those kinds of bras everywhere??" Because they're cheap to make and they hide your nipples.
Your "armpit fat" is probably not armpit fat. It is probably your tail of spence, and you have lymph nodes there. Some people have a bigger or smaller tail of spence, and it has very little to do with how fat you are or how big your boobs are. (Some bras can press on it or pinch it uncomfortably, like balconettes.)
When you lie on your back, your boobs will go into your armpits. That is true of EVERYONE WITH BOOBS, with the exception of some implants. Boobs are squishy! This also means that like, lying on your side will cause them to flop over. If that's uncomfortable when you're trying to sleep, there is such a thing as "sleep bras."
Lots of people's boobs get bigger and/or painful before their period starts. Some people gain an entire cup size every month.
Whether or not you wear bras has no effect on "sagging." The one "study" on this that was written about everywhere extremely badly done. The one exception: If you do the kind of exercise that has you jumping around/jogging a lot, and you don't wear a supportive-enough bra, it's possible you can injure the cooper's ligaments. But also: that would hurt, a lot.
Bras also have no effect on whether you get breast cancer.
Everyone has one boob that's bigger than the other. It's just a matter of degree.
The size of your boobs has nothing to do with whether or not you've had sex???? I'm stunned that there are people that believe this, but I've heard multiple people say they had relatives who absolutely believed this--refused to buy teenagers the correct size bra because "only sluts wear D-cups," or insisted a thirteen-year-old was "fast" because of breast growth during puberty...good lord.
It's possible for AMAB people to breast-feed--they have the same mammary glands AFAB people do! Some hormonal issues can cause people (both AFAB and AMAB) who haven't given birth to lactate, but also there's a few cases where transgender women have been given the same hormones that AFAB people's bodies make during pregnancy/lactation, and voila! Breast milk!
(I very intentionally didn't go into bra sizing with this post, but yes, if you hate your bras, you are probably wearing the wrong size and/or style for you. That's a much more finicky topic though, so I'm just going to point out that the letter doesn't mean anything about boob size by itself, D isn't big, and Victoria's Secret's "fittings" are garbage. For more info, go to the subreddit for r/abrathatfits, or try their size calculator.)

Overview of some topics when it comes to drawing characters who are burn survivors.
DISCLAIMER. Please keep in mind that this is an introductory overview for drawing some burn scars and has a lot of generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. I'm calling this introductory because I hope to get people to actually do their own research before drawing disabled & visibly different characters rather than just making stuff up. Think of it as a starting point and take it with a grain of salt (especially if you have a very different art style from mine).
Talking about research and learning... don't make your burn survivor characters evil. Burn survivors are normal people and don't deserve to be constantly portrayed in such a way.
Tumblr media
Consider supporting me on ko-fi if you find this to be helpful.
edit: apparently tum "queerest place on the internet" blr hates disabled people so much that this post got automatically filtered. cool!
second way more important edit: How are people seeing this post where I specifically talk about burn survivors being normal, real people, and still tag this as "TW body horror"? Not a single one of these drawings or pictures is a fresh injury. All of them are healed. How the hell would you feel if someone tagged a photo of you as "trigger warning: gore"?
Disabled people are not your fucking body horror. Grow up.

bored gay werewolf was good i enjoyed it, i heard going in there was very little Werewolf and more Critique On Toxic Masculinity so i didn’t feel too let down w how little werewolfing there was (it rly was very little) i Love werewolf shit i always appreciate more werewolfing but i respected what it was doing anyway. some stuff rly hit, the particular homophobia w the camping scene ✊ been there man. it sounds bare minimum but i was also rly relieved one of the main characters was trans showing up right away so there was no like intense cisgender gay media blindside. wasn’t perfect and writing could’ve been better in general (the pacing and general descriptions in particular were not the writers strong point) but i had a good time so nbd. it knows it’s audience and what it’s goal is and i definitely got it lol
