Section 31 is responsible for the near destruction of Earth in Picard S3E10.
I had an epiphany the other day while I was out walking: Section 31 fairly reliably has never demonstrably "saved" the Federation on screen that I can recall. On the other hand, literally no good ever seems to come from its obsession with its epistemology that only Section 31 can preserve the Federation's wholesomeness and decency through doing the unethical things your average Starfleet officer cannot and must not do.
In modern espionage, there is a much discussed concept called "blowback." Blowback is a euphemism for the unintended consequences of an action or policy that seemed like a good idea at the time, but has ripple effects that may or may not be foreseeable.
The Fourth (?) Borg attack on Earth and the almost certain many thousands of casualties is an example of blow back. Now in Section 31's defense, the chain of consequences meanders quite a bit and heated arguments over whether this constitutes a black swan or gray rhino are not entirely unjustified.
But the fact remains, that without the assistance of Vadek's rogue Changelings, the Borg Queen clearly did not have the assets to execute her plan to infiltrate Starfleet and set conditions for the assimilation via transporter of Starfleet's junior crew.
Vadek and her Changelings were motivated by vengeance. Vengeance for the torturous experiments they were subjected to by Section 31 and, although its not clearly spelled out, almost certainly the near extinction of the Changeling species by a Section 31 bioweapon. This Vadek would have known about when she rejoined the Great Link, if not before when she and her crew killed the researchers experimenting on them and may or may not have had access to other Section 31 files in the process.
Classic blowback.
I may have misjudged the streaming era of Trek and its handling of Section 31, because while it has normalized it in some ways, that so many problems are caused by Section 31 in this era of Trek does not seem to be an accident. I don't like the normalization as a worldbuilding aspect, but I do appreciate its function as the provocation for cautionary tales.
In universe, Section 31 really needs to be disbanded. As an organization, there is no evidence it has ever actually saved the Federation from any existential threats and it seems to be in the business of reliably creating existential threats. If I had a strip of gold pressed latinum for every time Section 31 was in the chain of causality for a computer virus hive mind taking control of Starfleet vessels and attempting to exterminate organic life, I'd have two strips of gold pressed latinum. Which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice.

Howdy, Tenno!

1999 has come, and with it, a bounty of Hotfixes to iron out any Y2K bugs! As we’ve resolved issues along the way (but more are being tracked and tackled), we’re pausing Hotfixes while we develop an interim Cert build - Devstream #184 will expand on when and what content will be released in this build! Please note this interim Cert build is not Echoes of 1999 (yet!)
One important note: during this downtime, the iOS team may continue to Hotfix to tackle performance improvements exclusive to the Mobile platform!
Like always, our next Cert Update includes further code fixes. Code describes changes made directly to the engine, which requires Certification from each Console platform to pass its checks, such as ensuring an Update doesn’t crash the machine itself.
We also need to ensure Cross Platform Play parity so all Tenno can continue to play together!
You can find further details on the “Code” and “Cert” processes here! With that said, a healthy helping of resolved issues from our ‘Known Issues’ list you can expect to see are:
Freezes/crashes on the Nintendo Switch.
We sincerely apologize for this taking so long, Tenno! This Cert build was our only opportunity to resolve these reported Switch crashes.
Continued work towards camera and lighting issues in various Quests and Cinematics, like The New War, The Second Dream, and The Sacrifice.
The broken camera in the Epilogue of The New War.
Incorrect camera position and broken lighting in the Chamber of the Lotus during the Angels of Zariman intro cinematic.
Calendar Task progress lost after a Host Migration.
Certain Task Challenges appearing to restart after completing them in-mission.
Brief Respite / Duplex Bond not working for Clients with Inner Might.
Corrupted Ancients giving Thrax ghosts Overguard.
Rare cases of Scaldra Exterminate Bounties containing no enemies.
Legacyte Harvest ‘Capture multiple targets’ Objective allowing extraction before the Objective is finished.
Players/Crew not being seated correctly as the Railjack pilot or frontal gunner.
And more as we continue fixing your bug reports!
Severe performance degradation when using Arcane Camisado on Nekros is on our radar!
Devstream 184 has also been announced for January 31st at 2 p.m. ET! Expect news on On-lyne’s upcoming tour, the next Prime Warframe, Rhino Heirloom, Nightwave, and much more with all things Echoes of 1999! And as always, Tenno, we’re still shining bright at your usual spots!
The Lunar New Year Event is live! Brand new Glyphs, Skins, and Emblems at your fingertips.
As discussed earlier, Devstream 184 is live on January 31st at 2 p.m. ET! We’re ssssso excited to bring you news about On-lyne’s upcoming tour, which will include a deeper dive into the Technocyte Coda and more!
Prime Time, Warframe International, and Devshorts continue!
Our directory-wide Twitch Drops Fest for 6 On-lyne and 6 Technocyte Coda Glyphs is live! The campaign is live until January 31 at 11 a.m. ET, with the wave of Technocyte Glyphs beginning on January 24th at 11 a.m. ET!
Thank you for your patience, Tenno! We’re working hard to get more content (and more fixes) into your hands as 1999 continues to grow between now and Echoes of 1999!

Reiner Braun: Hogwarts AU
Reiner Braun is a Half-Blood wizard that was born on the 1st of August 1979 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1990, being sorted into Gryffindor House.
He has a Cypress wand with a Phoenix Feather core.
His Patronus is a Rhino.
His favorite subject is Defense Against the Dark Arts and his least favorite subject is Herbology.
He was one of the Gryffindor Prefects of his year and one of their Beaters from his fourth year onward.
As a child, Reiner was rather quiet and meek yet at the same time very loyal and driven. He believed that if he was sorted into Slytherin house then his Pureblood father would come back and deluded himself into thinking he would still cheer him on as he fought back against Muggleborns, even after he rejected him. Because of his motivation, Reiner was very desperate to be sorted into Slytherin House, even going as far as to mentally curse out the Sorting Hat when he was sorted into Gryffindor House. However, after he was appointed as one of the new Gryffindor Prefects, Reiner gained a newfound self-confidence, though it was quickly shattered when Annie revealed that he was not chosen for his blood-status. Due to the Ministry's propaganda and his mother's influence, he believed Muggleborns to be "thieves" and that he would become a hero by exterminating them. He was also very gullible, never doubting the words of his mother and professors.
Following the death of his childhood friend Marcel, Reiner began incorporating elements from his personality into his own. He became more decisive and assertive, even willing to threaten Annie and Bertolt to ensure they followed his orders, yet also deeply caring and genuinely desiring to protect them. He also accepted that his belief that his father would return if he were to be sorted into Slytherin and defeat the Muggleborns was just a fantasy. In addition to this, Reiner started to develop a negative perception towards himself, believing he was supposed to have failed in becoming a wizard and that he should have been the one to die instead of Marcel.
By the time he started his second year, Reiner had completely incorporated Marcel's personality into his own. He built up a reputation of being a passionate and honest person with a strong sense of duty who takes his role as a Prefect very seriously and encourages others to do the same. However, he was also noted to have a kind heart and a tendency to always think of others before himself, taking on extra burdens for the sake of his comrades. He was stated to be the "big brother" of Gryffindor house.
However, beneath this facade, Reiner developed serious emotional and mental problems as a result of living a double-life. While still loyal to his true cause as a Pureblood Supremacist, he was unable to cope with the guilt he felt towards his actions and thus began to suppress his true memories in an effort to escape. Having to kill Marco seems to have been the final straw for him, causing him to snap and developing psychological issues. During these times, he would forget his actual identity and truly believes himself to be an ordinary wizard. Even after blowing his and Bertolt's cover, he initially still continued to shift between his two personas. However, after Bertolt bluntly told him that he was not a "student" but a "wizard", Reiner was, though with some difficulty, able to set his priorities straight.
While similar, there are a few differences between Reiner's "student" persona and his true self. He has shown himself to be more ruthless and fatalistic, though this is partly out of necessity. Despite these differences, he still tries to reach out to others and get to see things from their perspective, as seen when he trusted Ymir more than is perhaps wise.
Following the failure of overthrowing the Ministry and fighting in the Fourth Wizarding War for four years, Reiner's personality has changed so much that both his mother and cousin noted that he seems like a completely different person. Despite the fact that they are enemies now, Reiner harbors little to no malice towards his former comrades, only sarcastically referring to them as "devils" while humanizing their actions and beliefs before his family. He also suffers from constant nightmares about his near-death experiences and frequently sees memories of his childhood. Eventually, Reiner's negative perception towards himself reached its lowest point and caused him to contemplate committing suicide. However, despite stating that he wants to die, he cannot bring himself to, as his dedication toward his loved ones still exceeds his self-loathing.
However, in spite of all his emotional issues, Reiner is very intelligent with notable leadership qualities, able to think clearly, analyze situations, and formulate effective plans. As Eren himself confirmed, he is able to think ahead and in the long term, able to accurately predict the consequences depending on the course of action taken, all while maintaining his composure. He understood the hidden meaning behind Zeke Yeager's words when he indirectly implied that the meeting was being listened in on, and acted accordingly, quickly agreeing to his Captain's plan and intentionally cutting off Galliard before he could run his mouth too much. During their mission at Hogwarts, while it was Annie's job to gather the information, it was mostly Reiner who strategized, coming up with efficient multi-step plans not long after acquiring intel from her. As a leader, Reiner is also very devoted to his mission, to the point that he refused to talk and was ready to die or lose his soul when he was captured by the Aurors and Hange Zoë threatened to kill him for not cooperating.

The time has come to talk about Weiss, aka. Rosie's late husband.
She met Weiss when she was 24-- she wasn't an Overlord, and not the leader of Cannibal Town (something which didn't exist yet). She wasn't particularly powerful, but she'd managed to stay alive in Pentagram City for more than a decade on her own.
And Weiss, who was quite a bit older, had promised to protect her. He was a rhino Sinner demon, broad shouldered and incredibly strong. At just over 9 feet tall, he towered over Rosie, and could throw demons around one-handed.
Not a bad guy to have in your corner, or so she thought.
At first, things went well. But on their wedding night, everything changed. If there had been warning signs of his violent, jealous temper before they were married, Rosie didn't see them.
In the space of a few hours, her husband went from the man protecting her, to the man she needed protecting from.
For a decade she lived in fear of him, walking on eggshells, forever trying to do everything right, so he had no reason to get angry. Sometimes it worked... Most of the time, she was the lightening rod for his rage, because she was the person living under the same roof.
Eventually she packed her bags, intending to slip away in the middle of the night. She wasn't entirely sure where she was going to go, but she had a few friends that would shelter her until she got her feet under her.
Weiss found out.
Enraged by her deception, he pinned her to the wall and gored her with his sharp horn. He left her to die in the middle of the living room floor, clutching her throat to try and stem the blood.
Lying on the floor, Rosie could have died... But somewhere buried deep down, she found a small reserve of stubborn courage that she'd thought was lost. She wasn't going to die, not here, and not like this. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction.
In that moment, she decided two things: first, that she was going to live. And second, that Weiss was not.
This wasn't as easy as it sounded. If she killed him outright, he'd simply come back, angrier than before. No, she had to make sure he stayed dead. She bided her time until the next Extermination, finding strength in the knowledge that she'd soon be free of him.
Locking him out of the house and putting him in the Angel's line of fire was surprisingly easy.
In the aftermath, Rosie had a newfound determination to make a safe space in Hell. Somewhere that people like her didn't have to live in fear. Eventually this idea became Cannibal Town.
Rosie still carries the scars from Weiss, which is why she always wears high collars to hide them. She hates them, but they're a reminder of why she works so hard to keep Cannibal Town safe.
She's an Overlord, and she will never let that happen to her people.
#. rosie#( i've had this percolating in my brain for ages )#( i'm so glad to finally have it written out! )

not so much different between you and I...?
I have some news for you all.
First, I listened to your advice— I didn't explore the crater. I think it was a smart decision on your end, because a few hours later I picked up on rumbling in the ground.
cr: GamingSoundEffects on Youtube
But that's not all... because guess what?
I've picked up a radio signal from one of my kind.
I recognized the beacon from one of my dear friends from space training. Again, her name is hard to say, so we'll just call her Eva. She was patrolling the solar system next door when I crashed. Unfortunately, I also have to exterminate any evidence of these communications— or else I'd likely need to spend a couple years… (or decades), in Ryua equivalent of prison (it's not pretty), so... this could be our last correspondence.
I will most definitely miss talking to you, seeing all your inquisitive comments. Some of you asked me good questions— what political system does my planet follow? Are we more 'advanced'? Do I see colours differently, like some animals that walk your Earth? Interestingly, the people of Ryua have a name for a colour that doesn't exist for you. It sits just before red in the rainbow. Sworple. That's right. It goes sworple, red, orange, and so forth. It's hard to describe it in the terms where such colour is not present to influence the words of the language, but I might call it a… deeper orange? A distinctly red-less dark red? The kind of colour you put on before a date, one to impress the person you're to meet while remaining understated, and still effortlessly fashionable. Some of us strictly, only wear sworple— in long pantsuits, in fitted spandex— of course with more openings, to accommodate our seven limbs— and—
I'm just kidding. There is no sworple. And we only have 4 limbs, two arms and two legs, just like you. But anyway, I appreciate all your questions nonetheless. Unfortunately I don't have time to get into it all. There are differences to Ryua and Earth, like when the sun sets, or how long the cycles are, but otherwise, miraculously, I'd say much else is the same.
There is not so much different from you and I, is there?
Oh, lastly, some of you asked for my name. To explain the intricacies of it would take me far too long— but here, I can provide this. It’s my name scratched onto a scrap piece of the ship’s door blown off in the crash. I used a tool to etch the writing on. There are different ways to write it, with varying levels of respect— but I just used the one I normally do, among my friends and family.

cr: bing image creator
Well… perhaps this is it. I guess I will see my home, sweet home after all? And maybe, someday, I will be privileged enough to meet yours. I am glad to have met you— such a vibrant species in just a small blip in time, so close to reaching that pivotal discovery which had saved my kind from extinction.. yet still so far away... Hang tight. Keep your rhinos and red pandas alive. I wish to see them when I visit.
(You'll know when I do).

WH40K Homebrew Space Marine Chapter: Stormwolves — October 2024 Update
So, the October 2024 Points Update dropped from GW today, along with some Errata and FAQ updates. You can no longer stuff other vehicles into an Imperial Agents Rhino. Alas, they still did not make the Corvus Blackstar a Dedicated Transport like it should be.
One side effect of building Army Lists off of Lore Vibes instead of for Competitive Tourney Play™, is that I often have to change very little when new points come out. On my 3K list, the "Extermination Crew" went up in points but this was slightly offset by a cost drop for the Phobos Captain. And since the Lieutenants got errata-ed to be able to join Units already lead by Captains, I stuck them in the same squad so I could drop the Enhancement that lets the Captain rip off the Lieutenant's move-after-shoot trick, and ended up with 5 points to spare.
Similarly, my Boarding Action Patrol dropped to 490 from 500, with no change in Units. None of my Units in my 1K proxy for Rogue Trader fleet's shipboard Void Troopers Astra Militarum List changed in points, but I found a math error where I had used the native cost for an Imperial Agents Unit instead of the allied cost, which put me over budget by 20. However, swapping the second Kasrkin unit for the new badass Tempestus Aquilons balanced things right out.
Because nothing substantially changed in my three lists, I'm not going to go to the trouble of posting them again. Instead, I'll share more of my recent Hero Forge work imagining the characters associated with my Homebrew Chapter and their supporting Rogue Trader Fleet.
First, a Phobos Armored Stormwolf from the Stygian Wolves Division of the Stormwolves chapter, with Bolter & Single Lightning Claw (Back in the day this used to be a valid option when they were more flexible with the rules, which is why so much of my example art features it)
Next is my Ordo Sicarus Inquisitor / Vanus Temple Unbound Infocyte Assassin, Sigma Stroke Niner, updated with the new kitbashing feature.
An "Officers" Group shot with the Voidmaster previously shared, my "Fleet Security Marshall" (uses Tempestor Prime rules), my "Deck Officer" (Cadian Castellan), and the Sergeant of my Navy Breachers (updated with new kitbash insignia and also cat ears on the helmet... for reasons.)
Void trooper with Rotor Cannon (GW's mini for this had a hat, so I gave her one too)
A Void Trooper who's not from the 1st Selene Contingent so he doesn't get the all red w/black accents color scheme on his armor plating, just the cloth bits.
Navy Breacher Hatchcutter w/Chainfist and Autogun
Splicer Gang Conscript (uses Wulfen rules), improved with dual rocket boost on his sledgehammer now, and a better shoulder mounted Stormfrag Auto Launcher
Updated Lectro-Maester from the Rogue Trader Entourage
Also from the Retinue My Death Cult Executioner, who happens to be a Splicer Gang Bunny Girl (again ... for reasons). Kitbashing allowed me to show of the Dartmask in action
The latest version of the Imperial Navy Breachers rules say you need a token to represent their "Cyber Altered Task Drone" and the published lore for the C.A.T. Drone is that unlike servitors and servo-skulls, this drone is of entirely inorganic construction. To which I say screw that, this is the franchise that coined the term GrimDark, and I'm making mine an actual cyborg cat.
WH40K Homebrew Space Marine Chapter: Stormwolves — September 2024 Update

(Yes, I know it's the First of October)
It's been about a month since the Agents of the Imperium Codex was published by Games Workshop. In late September, they issued their PDF of FAQs and Errata for the book. That means time for me to update the army list for my Homebrew Chapter (last posted about here). I will detail these updates under the cut.
I've also been working in Hero Forge on creating some more supporting characters, taking advantage of their new kitbashing feature.
For example, here's my take on a Voidmaster to lead a Voidsmen-At-Arms unit, as viewed through the lens of the "1st Selene Contingent" Rogue Trader's elite guard concept I'd come up with for my homebrew. I particularly like how the artificer-built mastercrafted shotgun turned out on this.
I feel the shotgun looks the part better than the one carried by the official GW mini for the equivalent character:

And here's a better look at the Hero Forge Kitbash-built Laspistol at her hip.
As for the new Errata document, unfortunately, it did not make the Corvus Blackstar a dedicated transport as it should have been. Also, it didn't even fix the obvious error that lets the Imperial Rhino transport any other model from the Imperial Agent Army Roster, not just the intended infantry, letting you stick other vehicles inside like a Russian Nesting Doll.
What the errata did change involves the limited number of units you can take when using Imperial Agents in other armies. There are different categories of units: Character/Retinue/Requisition, and you're very limited in how many of each that you can ally in to another force.
However, there were two Retinue Units that under the rules as originally published, didn't count against the limit if they were attached as Bodyguard to certain Character Units. This got changed so that you don't have to attach them any more.
This was nice, because I preferred to have my Rogue Trader attached to an Imperial Navy Breachers Bodyguard instead of just the free Voidsmen-At-Arms. But my previous Army List was already maxed out on Retinue Units, even with the Freebie.
So, Instead of using Deathwatch Kill Team (formerly Deathwatch Veterans pre-codex) to represent my "Control" command squad, I switched to using Sternguard to free up a Retinue Unit slot. This was an idea I'd considered before, but rejected since the current statblock is supposed to be for Primaris Sternguard and Control is supposed to be Firstborn.
However, Sternguard Marines existed years before GW introduced the Primaris, and they say if you have the older models just use the best statblock that fits, so I decided to just roll with it as is.
Sure, the current Sternguard statblock has a keyword that prevents them from riding in Rhinos and Razorbacks, but I'd taken their Rhino away in a previous army list revision anyway. Gave them a Repulsor Executioner instead. And switching to Sternguard let me give them as many Combi-Weapons as I wanted again, bringing them back to my original vision.
I also finally got a chance to look over the new update to the Boarding Actions Rules. While the Space Marines got three different Boarding Patrol options, I was disappointed that Phobos Armor was restricted to just one Patrol, and you couldn't just mix it with the other types.
But I found a loophole. The Boarding Strike Patrol list didn't prevent you from taking Phobos Armored characters. So I snuck one in.
I was also a bit disappointed to find that unlike the seemingly more freeform Boarding Actions rules from the beginning of 10E last year, the new rules expect you to stick to all Chapter specific restrictions if you include marines from any particular Chapter. This meant I could no longer put Apothecaries into a Space Wolves Boarding Patrol. But it wasn't worth it to even try anyways, as they took all the useful bits off the Apothecary when you use them in a Boarding Actions game.
Even with the changes, it's a fun way to get a more Space Wolf flavored version of my Stormwolves homebrew chapter, to contrast with the Imperial Agent Allies version.
I've also been exploring another facet of my Stormwolves, the fact that a company of them is supposed to be assigned as support for a Rogue Trader's fleet.
While I could have represented this with one of the Detachments from the Imperial Agents Codex (and still might), I realized that there were a lot of suitable units from the Imperial Guard Index and Legends Sheets, that would make good rules proxies for an army of Void Troopers serving under my Rogue Trader character.
Picked a lot of 4+ Armor Save Units comparable to the void armored troops from Imperial Agents (and a handful of 5+ to round out the list). Since I was shooting for a 1K list for this, I could only ally in one Unit of Marines, but overall, I'm happy with the list.

Puppetmaster Oogway Theory
Ok so, I've been hyperfixating on Kung Fu Panda some more. Let's talk about Oogway.
Oogway is not necessarily a good person. He was a famous warlord alongside Kai, and warlords don't exactly sit around drinking tea all day.
The Oogway we see in the movies has some sort of destiny power, an ability to see the future to some degree, and uses this to achieve his goals. However, he's also very anti-intervention. He's the most powerful martial artist in the world but he sits in his palace when Tai Lung is fucking up the village five minutes away, and he did nothing to help the pandas when they were being exterminated even though they saved his life.
What IS Oogway willing to use his abilities for? Maybe to fix the biggest mistake of his life. His brother-in-arms Kai, who clearly loved him (you don't carry someone alone across mountains to save their life if you don't love them to some degree). Oogway was unable to redeem Kai, and eventually had to kill him.
Oogway is clearly sensitive to powerful warriors and major events. What if Oogway KNOWS that Kai is coming back, and that he won't be able to stop him? He feels responsible for this and he wants to set up a hero who can defeat Kai and fix Oogway's mistakes.
And he is willing to sacrifice any number of lives to get it.
Poor Tai Lung. He literally didn't know any other life but the dojo. He's been trained from birth for nothing except being the dragon warrior. He has no friends, nothing outside of Shifu and martial arts, he's breaking his bones and suffering for his dad's approval. He's living in the same building as Oogway, who knows what the dragon scroll really is, and can see this kid through his literal entire life.
Then Oogway does literally nothing until he denies this kid the scroll and sets him off to go insane and become evil. After which Oogway effortlessly knocks him out and locks him in a monstrously heinous prison for 20 years to be abused by rhinos. Why? He could have intervened WAY before this!
The answer is that Oogway needed Tai Lung to become this, to set up Po. Tai Lung can't beat Kai, we know that for a fact because Tai Lung loses to Kai in the spirit realm off screen.
ONLY Po can beat Kai, and Po reaching his true heights requires Tai Lung as a sacrifice. Oogway let this innocent little orphan kid suffer his entire life with no happiness to set up Po, to fix Oogway's mistake.
So, if Oogway is willing to do that, what else exactly would he be willing to do for his long-term goals?
Take a young snow leopard from his family, perhaps?
Or maybe something worse?
How exactly did Lord Shen know where the hidden village of the pandas was, to try and kill Po's family and set Po off on the life path that would lead him to Oogway? Who do we know in canon who knows the location of the hidden village, perhaps because his life was saved there once?
Someone maybe who has been working on a plan for hundreds of years to finish what he started.

SET TWO:
1.Can your Dalek mutant swim? If so, how do they react to being cast into a quarantine tank? If no, how do they avoid it?
2.A scientist Dalek insists on opening your Daleks casing for inspection, do they obey?
3.There are so many Doctors in the reality, which one does your Dalek remember most? Which does it fear? Which does it loathe?
4.Your Dalek runs into a Thal, how do they react? What of a Dal? Or perhaps they meet a Kaled.
5.What does your Dalek believe will happen after death? Would they linger like some Dalek mutants have been known to? Would they become part of the sewers?
6.It’s a rainy planet that your Dalek finds itself on, with little to no targets. Do they take a moment to enjoy the peace? Or do they try and find a way out of the rain?
7.Sauntarins are met at a main control point of a target species. How do you deal with the threat of being at war with said species?
8.Your Dalek is captured and given two options, become a companion or be exterminated. What do they choose?
9.What would be a food or beverage your Dalek would become obsessed with if introduced to foods outside of what a Dalek should be eating?
10.Chaos erupts as the police of the universe, the rhinos looking creatures, invade an operation of your Daleks. How is it dealt with? Why were they raided in the first place?

The lone power pylon stood a solitary vigil on the moorlands, its body creaking and groaning with the wind. The power lines connecting it to its kin were long gone, the power they once carried, the life-blood of the township, were wasted. Its sibling pylons were gone too, destroyed by the war as targets, collateral damage, or fallen to decay and privations for metal.
It stood alone to watch the Damocles command Rhino sit alone on a small rise, its large dish scanning back and forth slightly as it sniffed and scented the information being sent across the battle scape kilometres away. Compared to the pylon, with its red rust and brown dirty metal, the Rhinos flanks are shining steel. Even its dirty tracks cannot detract from the martial worth of the vehicle, especially with the roaring head of a dracon, rendered in silver, against the onyx black door at the flank and rear.
The pylon watches the Rhino as it carries out its task.
-----
With a jolt that shook the body of every transhuman passenger it carried, the Deimos-pattern Rhino bounced and roared its way across the broken highway designated ASR-Bravo-2 by the Astra Militarum officers in charge of leading the fight against the cultists fighting the city of Vagasgrod. Its true name was lost now, being blasted away by mortar round, artillery shell and rocket.
Another crater, another heavy sideways jolt that shook Brother-Sergeant Gaiun, squad leader of Sternguard Squad Gaiun, of the 1st Company of the Steel Drakes, heavily enough for his helmet to bang against the interior of the Rhino.
“Brother! Please try and miss one of the craters!” The Astartes veteran calls out over the vox to his driver.
“Apologies, honoured sergeant, but these roads are, in a word, terrible.” Another jolt, this time up and down, as the armoured vehicle mounted an obstacle at speed. “I will need to put in for repairs when we return to the Ferro Cordis.”
Not saying another word, Gaiun settled himself more comfortably in the vehicle as their target approached. Again, he called up his eidetic memory, recalling the mission briefing in the clipped tones of Astartes professionalism.
Assist Cadian combat engineers in attack cultist defensive line. Exploit breach. Hold position for reinforcements. Break the enemy’s teeth.
“Honoured sergeant, we have company.” The driver spoke up again. “Linking vox feed to theirs.”
The clear transmission of Astartes level communications was replaced with static laced growls of Militarum-grade communications for armoured vehicles.
“My lord, this is Captain Gyles, Cadian 16th Armoured. I’ve got a trio of Leman Russ’ as per orders for your support.”
Turning slightly, Gaiun accessed a panel allowing exterior view of the Rhino as it ran through the ruined city. Keeping pace well, three Leman Russ tanks roared alongside the armoured personnel carrier. Three different patterns of tank; a Demolisher, Exterminator and Conqueror, all painted in broken shades of grey and black ran alongside the steel-clad Rhino.
“Acknowledged, Captain Gyles. Be ready for contact.” Gaiun said curtly, shutting down the feed before he closed his eyes behind his helmet. Quickly, he called up his eidetic memory and the plans shown to him of the local PDF defensive lines. Perfectly, he remembered the placement of each bunker, each wall and the line of tank traps recently put in by the renegade forces. It flashed by his yes like a sped up pict video.
“Battle line ahead. Forty-seconds until contact.”
As soon as the words left the driver’s mouth, explosions rocked the Rhino on its suspension. Even muffled by the armour plating of the vehicle, Gaiun’s enhanced hearing can make out the sounds of battle: the roar of artillery pieces, the heavy snap of lascannon shots, the thunder of explosions.
“Is the road clear?” Gaiun asked as he reached down his waist, pulling his plasma pistol from its holster, dracon-skin leather, revealing an ornate pistol of silvery steel and burnished gold, crowned with blue energy.
“Still clear, honoured sergeant.” The driver responded. “Twenty-seconds. Fire incoming.”
A loud thrum shook the Rhino, loud enough to rattle Gaiun in his armour.
“Glancing hit from lascannon. Still operational.”
I ran out of steam on this sadly. But I like it.

Let me summarize on how you should teach yourself to know your enemy!
FINDING A BEST FRIEND:
KL - Eliminate enough Grineer and a caterpillar should show up. Catch a caterpillar, it should look like a fugitive of Saturn Six. Or.... A scorpion.
CS - Find a smol nervous funni hat guy, get in Protea's hometown and efficient kills should be 25, at R1. Your lady will spawn.
WEAPONS:
Rejection: You can't find a weapon you like, but hate leaving "them" behind.
Accept: You finally looked for the weapon! Go get it!
YOUR BUDDY AND YOU:
1) Pay attention to the elements, weapon bonuses, immunities, and resistances.
2) Not one or many has an ephemera.
3) Some styles may vary, even voices.
Sisters:
Find some doggies in your area in Venus, Phobos, Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto.
Kuva: Find purple thralls and get em in Earth, Mars, Ceres, Sedna and Kuva Fortress.
Make sure to use correct Requiems.
If you find yourself worried about not having it, use Oull. Ask a friend or anywhere in Trading. Here:
Fass
Vome
Xata
Khra
Lohk
Jahu
Ris
Netra
Oull
--------- If it's Defiled, throw it away.
The finisher will be glowing:
Red: Incorrect (slashed circle)
Blue: Correct (Consume 1)
Gold: Correct
CHOOSING/DECISIONS:
Kuva: In Saturn Proxima
Sister: In Neptune Proxima
Do your business.
Convert: Best friends
Vanquish: *Crewman Death Sound* WHY
TRADING:
Must not have an active lich or sister
Selling without an ephemera is hard.
Use Crimson Branch
Frames I highly recommend:
Wukong: Twin that has your back.
Banshee + Cedo
Harrow + Nataruk
For that squeaky clean shine, use Rhino.
Nezha: Status Effect Ignorance with Safeguard
Put some moonshine on your Gauss
Wisp: More healing from the hound's damage
Tips: Don't use Gara in Mobile or Defense, the mission would be over quickly.
Use Wisp or specters and on call expert. Or invite a fellow Tenno.
I know Wukong is Mass Braindead, but he's much helpful with Extermination
Ivara is no use, use Shedu to crack surveillance. Limbo is useless but press a button to make him invincible during Spy. I know people are going to complain.....
I use a Korumm and Skiajati
If you find this as recommended, good.
I'm open for feedback.

ATLA AND WAR CRIMES!!!
LOL, what is with people and their obsession with War Crimes and the ATLA universe? The Fire Nation is based on the Mongolian Empire, Imperial Dynasties of China, and Shogunate Japan. Countless Millions of civilians were massacred during those regimes. Granted, the Avatar world is modernizing but that is mostly due to the Fire Nation technology advantage.
Trying to force a modern and western lens on the ATLA given the cultures, society, and timelines that it is based on is ridiculous. The Five Punishments of Imperial China proved the different moral standards of the modern west versus the ancient east. Imagine going up to a Mongolian Khan and talking about War Crimes and proper Rules of Warfare!
Ozai, Iroh, Zuko, and Azula can all be considered war criminals! Ozai's men burned villages and towns to ashes with the Rough Rhinos, used POWs as meat shields, used slave labor, stole countless resources. Iroh also seized a city for six hundred days and nights and helped in an imperialist war, Zuko burned down Kyoshi's village and stole from civilians. Azula invaded Ba Sing Se and started a Coup!
Even if the Earth Kingdom demanded Ozai, Iroh, and Azula's heads. The Fire Nation Elites Generals, Nobels, Aristocrats, and even Zuko the Fire Lord himself wouldn't allow it! Zuko would attack the Earth Kingdom and King Kuei just like in the comics but for a more justifiable reason to his Fire Nation populace!
Ozai has too much clout, power, and influence in the Fire Nation court to be simply executed outside of the Avatar himself. Not even Zuko would be able to get away with it as Fire Lord. People were trying to kill him and bring Ozai back to power DESPITE HIM BEING A POWERLESS NON-BENDER!
I'm quite sure the Royal Family is seen as Demi-Spirits by the Fire Nation citizenry an execution of any of its members by an outside nation would be heresy and a massive spiritual insult. This was why America didn't execute the Japanese Royal Family or dethrone them for War Crimes
Also, just because Ozai was NOT known as Dragon of the West or fighting at Ba Sing Se doesn't mean he did not have a part of the pillaging, destruction, carnage, and genocide that was going on in the Fire Nation military. Zuko, Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai serve a military role despite not being soldiers which is a war crime of partisans.
Ozai probably served in a similar role to his peers Iroh, Jeong Jeong, Zhao, Chey. Burning, raiding, and pillaging down Earth Kingdom towns and villages with soldiers while hunting for the Avatar just like Zuko would later. He probably was far more vicious and crueler to the Earth Kingdomers than Iroh, Zuko, and even Azula. Ozai takes more from Sozin and Azulon's personalities and imperial mindset i.e. screw everyone that isn't Fire Nation and of noble blood. I seriously doubt that a 45-year-old MAN that is a REIGNING AGNI KAI CHAMPION, MASTER FIREBENDER, LIGHTNINGBENDER, SECOND IN LINE TO THE THRONE, MASTER MANIPULATOR AND TACTICIAN [taught Azula] ALONG WITH PREVIOUSLY HUNTED THE AVATAR, DIDN'T FIGHT IN THE HUNDRED YEARS WAR!!!!!! PLUS, IT SEEMS THAT OZAI HAS COMMITTED MURDER BEFORE GIVEN HE POISON HIS FATHER AND IS WILLING TO KILL ZUKO!
P.S: The Bombing of Dresden by Britain and Hiroshima and Nagasaki by America is the reason Fire Bombing on CIVILIANS isn't a War Crime during WWII, because the Allies would be seen as hypocrites and civilian exterminators as well.

A snippet from the upcoming chapter of Dragon of the West:
"You have spent six days boasting about what a hardened killer you are, that there is nothing that can surprise you."
Hoelun's eyes narrowed as she saw the Traitor moving toward her with a pair of scrolls.
"That's right, Scarface, that's exactly what I do and why I do it. I have done fearful things, dreadful things. Written pages of glory in our nation's holy war to remake the world in the glorious image of fire."
The Arch-Traitor stood in front of her.
"Do not burn these," she said calmly, "but read them. Read the words of Fire Lord Sozin and Fire Lord Azulon, one on the annihilation of the Air Nomads, one on the Massacre of Taku."
Hoelun looked at the scrolls.
"Enemy propaganda, lies. Komodo-Rhino shit. You're telling me fireside tales and children's stories."
The girl's fist slammed into the table in a sound that disrupted her persona, the look of surprise and fear one that brought a look of regret to her face.
"Look me very careful, Hoelun of the Destruction Battalion."
Hoelun did. The Arch-Traitor's eyes were a beautiful golden hue, small twin suns. Suns that were fractured, the star-imagery become broken glass, the deep scars on her face marks of triumph and endurance and the works of the Fire Nation writ raw.
"If you want to know why my gaze is like this, read the scrolls."
The girl stalked off and Hoelun could not resist a lingering stare at her of the kind she suspected might get more than a frown from the snow savages the girl had taken in as a twisted kind of family. And then her gaze turned to the scrolls.
"Field report on the ann-"
She sat down heavily and picked them up.
"Field report on the extermination of the Air Nomads, written by the personal hand of Fire Lord Sozin."
