where atsushi is a member of the royal family; adopted son of fukuzawa, taking care of his duties alongside his many siblings

in another kingdom, akutagawa is a loyal knight, dedicated to mori and the kingdom

the two kingdoms border each other, always at a cold war

no one knows this (except they do) but when the two kings meet, for treaty talk, or any other reason, atsushi's eyes find akutagawa's who is always already looking at him

its deep deep into the night one time, that atsushi apologies to fukuzawa who reassures him he'll always have a home, should he come back, even if he comes back with someone else, atsushi leaves into the night quietly, cutting of his long white hair and dressed in something thats unrecognizable

he has to get to the border, before travelling out of both kingdoms and somewhere far away, maybe by water, somewhere quiet and just for them

when he reaches the border, akutagawa is already there

hc the Flags are obviously very close and love each other a lot but Albatross is particularly vocal about his affection...one of his habits is saying “love u bro!” (note: he always looks expectantly at Chuuya and Iceman to say it back. they pretend they don’t notice.)
