“ You know it's just routine. Orders from above, it won't take long. ” Truthfully, he'd prefer to be conversing with Erwin directly; even if the commander gave him more headaches then not. Something about the captain always made him uncertain. Could be all the workarounds that Erwin made to have Levi here, a lot scrubbed away from his profile ━━ honestly, Nile had done his background checks enough that he knew not to dive deeper. That gamble of Erwin's worked out this time, he supposed. Though, it made it a bit harder having those so loyal to that Erwin, that he worried what they could mean for humanity. Too many unknowns and loose canons.
“ We don't want to take up time on this either. So let us be thorough with our investigation. We are just going to inspect the Survey Corps equipment and ask some of them questions. Then they're all yours again. ”

“Thank you for helping me today! Have a good weekend,” Armin beams at you, sending you off with a wave.
You shoot him a small smile and a wave back before turning on your heel to go for the door. On the way out, you keep your briefcase tucked under your left arm as you wave with both hands to the rest of the people still on the floor.
Once the door behind you is shut and you’re out of your coworkers’ view, you let a smaller, more bashful smile break out on your face as you make your way over to the elevator. Your shoulders loosen up, and you find yourself taking lighter steps. Your arms are swinging freely, not paying any mind to how idiotic you might look. Ordinarily, you'd be walking normally when you clock out, so what has you acting so different today?
Well, it’s Friday, and Friday is when that guy on your bus is there.
You first saw him in September, right around when Armin, Eren, and Mikasa started at your firm.
You remember Erwin begging you to give up your parking spot for Armin; it wasn’t hard to forget when the tall, usually levelheaded man got on his literal knees to ask you to find a different ride to the firm. You worked at a fairly busy downtown building with its own parking structure, but it wasn’t big enough to hold both client and employee cars.
Erwin was only able to negotiate a number of spots for your department, and, even then, most of them were reserved for clients. Erwin reasoned that Armin drove Eren and Mikasa to work, so it would be more logical for a spot to be given to them instead of having you, who drove only yourself, own it.
At the time, you didn’t know them all that well yet. They were freshly hired interns, the lot of them, and you had only worked with Mikasa so far. You were inclined to refuse Erwin, but seeing him on his knees was so… pathetic, and so you found yourself giving him a polite smile and saying you'd try to figure out a new ride.
Part of you also felt bad because Armin had already gotten ticketed 5 times by city security for parking at a client parking spot, and Mikasa had already asked you on several occasions where Armin could park without getting fined (to which you told her, "I don't know any better than you do. Before I got my parking space, I got so many parking tickets that I just stopped counting them.")
You and Erwin weren’t super close. Friends, sure, but you never interacted much outside of work. He was your work superior, and even if he was kind and cordial with you, he was like that with everyone. Perhaps he was more so with you because you were an intern around the same time he was starting out after coming from a different firm.
As the two “newbies,” the two of you would eat lunch together in the breakroom when the other coworkers got into heated arguments about workplace politics on the main floor. You'd eat in silence for a bit to ease out the stress from work, but you’d both talk about random things you did over the weekend when you had extra time before you had to go back to your desks.
You didn’t really peg him as the sort of guy to be into Gundam building, but most of the stories he told you from these small lunch breaks were about what figures he had in progress at home or how hard it was to find a certain model he wanted. You usually talked about the new recipe you tried that weekend or what you had planned for the next week, and he seemed as interested as he could for a guy who knew next to nothing about baking.
Back then, you always brought food from the family-owned Chinese takeout place across the street because... well, you were a struggling grad student without enough time to make lunch for yourself to bring. You'd make little paper stars for Erwin with the chopstick wrappers you got there whenever you saw him after lunch (even when you didn't eat together).
He found it odd at first, but you explained that they were good luck charms (and that you had a habit of folding them for people any time you got your hands on a long strip of paper).
It was a peaceful thing—what you two had going on.
Just two coworkers who ate lunch and talked to each other sometimes. That went on for a long time until those others coworkers went on to other departments or other firms, and the two of you were promoted into your respective positions now and got too busy to have lunch anywhere besides your desks.
Well, more like he got promoted and you were hired full-time after graduation.
And even though there was less time for the two of you to talk like before, when he first showed you his new office, you didn't miss the small jar of white-with-red-lettering paper stars sitting at the edge of his work desk.
Either way, no matter how tight you were with Erwin, you were left without a parking spot now.
He practically leapt to his feet in joy when you said you’d at least try to find a way around it, and he apologized profusely for asking you to give up your spot. He knew you lived relatively far since you had to drive 30 minutes to get to work everyday, so he promised to get you an unlimited-use pass for the bus if you weren’t able to find a ride at the firm, which you took him up on, not wanting to bother your other coworkers with the inconvenience of picking you up from a neighborhood far from the building.
He also promised to give you a spot as soon as he was able to negotiate another one for the department, and you forced him to link pinkies with you to seal the deal.
Now, you weren’t inexperienced taking the bus.
You took it every day in university, only getting a car the summer before your first year in law school. Even if it had been 5 years since then, you figured it wouldn’t be any different. Erwin did promise he’d get you a spot again soon, and you knew him to be a man of his word.
Besides, gas prices were crazy—maybe you’d be better off giving your wallet a break for a while.
The day you first took bus 143, you were wearing an outfit you wouldn’t normally wear to work.
Erwin was the only superior working in the office that day, seeing as the others were off at some conference in the next town over, and he was fine with you wearing whatever you wanted to—within reason, of course. You had on a nice pink two piece blazer and skirt, as well as a white blouse underneath it.
You also remember your outfit because Petra, another one of your coworkers, complimented your outfit and asked if the two of you could go clothes shopping together sometime. You promised to invite her the next time you went out shopping, remembering that she was nearing her first anniversary with her boyfriend Oluo (who worked on the floor above you), and that she’d maybe want your help choosing an outfit.
On the walk to the bus stop, you weren’t nervous at all.
You already looked over the bus route several times at work during your breaks. It was quite the convenient route—you only needed to take one bus, and your apartment was only a 5 minute walk from the stop after the 45-minute ride.
You spent the earlier parts of the week at another office in a different building (with actual parking) because Erwin had sent you to handle some business there, so that explained why you didn’t have to take the bus until the tail end of the week. You had breakfast with Hange that Friday, so you didn’t have to figure out the logistics of actually getting to work since they dropped you off, but you’d figure it out next week.
"Get home safe! Text me when you're home!" They yelled for you through their rolled-down window.
It was good that you waited until Friday to try the bus anyway. You got out early on Fridays, so if you took the wrong bus or got off at the wrong stop, there would still be time to figure out the right way to get home. You were hardly worried about it, but it was nice to know that the sun would still be out if you ended up stranded.
You checked the time on your phone; 3:02 PM. You heard the screech of the tires seconds later, and you went to scan the card Erwin gave you earlier that week.
Well, curse you for thinking the ride would be normal.
It wasn’t until you actually got on the bus that you felt nervous.
After you settled into your seat and put your briefcase on your lap, you saw an admittedly really hot guy sitting right across from you.
He was clad in a neat suit, not unlike the ones the men at your work wore. He had a neat pair of cuff links pinned on his dress shirt and what looked like a watch peeked out from under his sleeve. His hair was trimmed neatly in an undercut, and it looked so impossibly soft and shiny. And even though he was looking down at his phone, you could still see his face quite well. His lips were downturned, his features were sharp and strong, and, worst of all...
His eyes were gorgeous.
They looked to be some shade of blue. Maybe even grey? Silver? You hadn’t even seen them fully yet, and your heart was already starting to race.
You didn’t even want to imagine how you would feel if you made eye contact with him.
You didn’t need to be knocked out of your staring. You knew it would be weird to stare any longer than you already had been, so you busied yourself on your phone while fighting off the blush you felt blooming on your face.
You occasionally stole glances at him throughout the ride, pretending that you were looking out the window he sat in front of, but your eyes never lingered on him for fear of getting caught. He never seemed to look back up at you though, so maybe he didn’t care that you were even there in front of him.
You were grateful for your choice in outfit, since you felt quite pretty in it—you wouldn't want such a handsome stranger to think you had poor fashion taste. Not that he probably cared. He didn't seem to look in your direction at all.
You were grateful he didn't look at you. Well... some part of you was grateful he didn't.
You had gotten bored of switching between the random games you had on your phone, so you took note of his bag. You were so entranced by his face that you hadn't even taken a look at his backpack yet, almost 30 minutes after you got on the bus in the first place.
It wasn't unlike the one you used in university and grad school—simple, black, practical.
What caught your eye, however, was a bird keychain looped onto the outermost zipper. It looked like some sort of white dove, but you didn't know anything about birds, really, so you couldn't guess what kind it was.
It was... cute. It didn't seem to really match him, but you suppose it added to the mystery of him. Maybe his girlfriend gave it to him? It seemed like it could be part of a matching set.
Before your brain could even wrap itself around the idea that this stranger could've been already taken, the bus stopped at 3:40 PM, and he got up from his seat, and left the bus without so much as a sound.
The rest of the ride was a bit of a haze.
You remember you got off the bus 2 stops later, walked the short route to your apartment, and put down your briefcase at your dining table after opening the door. You walked over to your cupboard and grabbed a mug, then you moved over to the fridge to take out a chilled pitcher of water you had in there. As you filled the mug, you felt a quiet bloom in your chest.
In the privacy of your own home, you finally let the blush you’ve been fighting finally reach your face in full, and it seemed that even your cold water couldn’t cool you off. After taking off your heels, you went over to the bathroom to start taking off your makeup.
The first time you looked in the mirror after taking bus 143, your face was alarmingly red.
What was up with you? You saw attractive men all the time, and you'd never been this flustered before. It had to be the mystery of a stranger, right? You splashed water onto your face, trying to calm down your burning cheeks. Hell, even your ears were red.
After you removed your makeup and got dressed in some home clothes, you plopped yourself down on your couch and groaned. This wasn’t you. You weren’t one to even care for looks all that much in partners, and you were all hot for a guy you didn’t even get to make eye contact with.
You decided then that the stranger on bus 143 would be someone you didn't think of outside of the 40 minute-ish ride you just shared. You’d probably never even see him again anyway.
And you were right. You didn’t see him that following Monday. Not on the ride to work, not on the ride home.
When you didn’t see him on Tuesday, you figured he would just be gone forever, and he could stay someone you could form an answer around if someone asked what your type was.
Truth be told, you probably didn’t even have a type. Your university days were filled with LSAT cramming and trying to figure out where you wanted your life to go, and when you got into law school, the academic rigor was too much for you to even consider having a crush on someone. Now, as a practicing attorney, you were able to relax a tiny bit, and you certainly had more time than when you were a student, but you didn’t have any particular interest in dating. People were attractive, sure, but that had more to do with their charms than it did their appearance.
The week continued as normal, with Erwin popping by your desk more than usual to ask about how it’s been taking the bus. He sounded just about ready to give up his own spot given how guilty he sounded, but you reassured him that he was probably the only person in the department that absolutely needed to have his car on him.
Armin, Eren, and Mikasa offered to grab lunch for you (seeing as you didn’t have a car to go out for food anymore), and you spent that entire week eating with them in your office.
You were glad that they were able to explore the city a bit more now that they didn’t have to worry about parking, and it was nice to be able to have lunch with someone else. You hadn't had lunch with anyone since Petra started going to the upper floor to have lunch with Olou. The three of them seemed to really appreciate you giving them their spot too, even going as far as to try and pay for your lunches that week, but you just waved them off and explained you had more than enough money. They weren’t too much younger than you—just 3 years younger—but you knew better than to let them waste even more of their money on downtown food that was already overpriced.
By the time Friday came around, you had completely forgotten about the man on the bus, and your days were filled with paperwork, meeting with clients, and having lunch with your new favorite interns.
Imagine your surprise when, a whole week later, you saw him again, sitting at the exact same spot as last time.
You guess you didn't consider he only takes the bus on Fridays. Or maybe just at a different time, since you got off of work at 5 on other days of the week. Either way, you avoided looking at him altogether to save face, but you still felt a bit of heat reach your face at just the thought of him being there.
When you got home, you went through the same motions as last Friday.
Splashing your face with water, looking at yourself red as a tomato, and groaning into your couch cushions to curse the universe for making such a perfect looking man.
After the fourth Friday you see him, you accept that this is just how your weekly encounters with the devilishly handsome stranger will go.
You don't even get to decide whether or not the stranger on bus 143 ends up becoming someone you think about every week.
You sigh as you step into your apartment, letting your blush settle just as it does every Friday.
The air has gotten colder now that it's January, and you're grateful you wore a scarf today to both shield you from the cold and hide your blush. After hanging your scarf over one of the chairs in the dining room, you head immediately into the bathroom to get a quick check at your reflection, not even bothering to try to get the red to go away. You just empty out your pockets on the countertop, not wanting to deal with the discomfort of your items pushing into your skin in a few seconds.
You know all too well that you need to go take a breather on your couch to cool your face, so you just head over and throw yourself into your cushions, groaning and kicking your legs. In your anguish, you hear the faint ringing of your phone from the bathroom. You barely register it as your phone, but once you do, you bolt up off the couch and rush to the sound and pick up without checking the caller ID.
"Hello?" You say into your mic, bringing your phone up to your ear and trying to sound as neutral as possible.
"Hi! Can I come over?" You immediately recognize the voice as Hange's, so you relax into yourself again.
Before you even try thinking of an answer, you go back to your couch and flop onto it again. You move one of the pillows under your chin and shift around so you're lying on your stomach. Your phone's on the couch itself, and your hands keep your face propped up.
"Huh? Why? Aren't you at work?"
"Do I need a reason to see you? I miss you, and I got out early today!"
You shake your head with a small smile. Leave it up to Hange to joke with you.
"Hange, you live 2 doors down from me, I see you every morning. I got breakfast with you yesterday too!"
You can almost see them nervously smiling and scratching the back of their neck at your comment.
"Still! Can I come hang out? I've been craving some of your cookies, and you haven't made them in so long!"
"What cookies are you talking about this time?"
"I'm feeling like snickerdoodle today."
You roll your eyes, starting to get up. "Yeah. Yeah, you can come. If you're already at my door, it's unlocked."
There's a beep from your phone, indicating that the call's over.
Sure enough, Hange comes through your door in record time and saunters across the entryway and living room to give you a hug.
"Hange! Shoes!" You chastise. You return their hug, nonetheless, and they just laugh wholeheartedly.
They pull away from you before taking off their shoes and walking over to the shoe rack to drop them off. "Sorry! I got too excited thinking about the cookies. Besides, it's been forever since we hung out on a Friday!"
Lately, they've been staying late at their lab on Fridays. Something about some new scientific discovery and wanting the lab to themselves to research.
Oh well, such is the life of a scientist.
"How'd you even finish so early? You're usually at work until night on Fridays."
They laugh and motion for you to move over to the kitchen. They rest their face in their hands at the countertop, and you go to a cupboard to start grabbing ingredients and tools for the cookies they wanted. "Some other guys are staying late to work on a project, so I figured I'd head home after lunch. I got a snickerdoodle ad when I was—wait! Why's your face all red? Are you sick?"
At the mention of your apparently still-present blush, you look up at Hange to see them lean even closer to you.
"What? No, I'm not sick."
"Are you sure? You look really red, even your ears are pink."
You turn away from Hange as quickly as you can to avoid their gaze, opting to go to the fridge and get the rest of the things you need for the cookies. "Don't worry about it. It's nothing."
And just like that, you can almost hear the smile break out on their face.
"Holy shit! Do you like someone?"
You stop moving, milk carton in hand. You quietly shift to put it on the counter before turning back to get the eggs.
Your silence is probably more than enough to get Hange to keep going.
"So you do like someone! Who is it? Who!?"
Your face heats up at Hange's comment, and even though you have all the ingredients out and ready to go, you suddenly feel too shy to start. "I don't like anyone. You're making things up. Seeing things, too."
To that, they just straight up laugh in your face.
"You got even redder! Of course you like someone! Who is it? Is it one of those interns at your firm? Nothing's hotter than an office romance!"
You make a face of disgust at them and decide to start weighing out what you need. "God, no! They're all so young!"
"Well, they're the only people you talk about nowadays, I figured it'd be one of them. It's not your senior at work, is it?"
"No, it's not him. I barely even talk about him, I think I only brought him up when I was talking about how I had to give up my parking spot a couple months ago."
"Well, who is it? Is it me? I can keep a secret," they tease, continuing to badger you.
You roll your eyes at that and sigh.
It wouldn't be so bad to tell Hange about him, would it?
Besides, there's no way you actually like him. No, you don't even know him. You just... think he's pretty hot.
That's all.
Maybe they'd drop it if you explained it was just a stranger you saw every week. Maybe actually telling someone about it would help you not feel as anxious having to see him every week. It wasn't like you actually liked fussing over a man you didn't know.
You've been mindlessly mixing the ingredients together, now switching over from a whisk to a spatula to get the wet and dry parts combined.
You know Hange's gonna get you talking at some point, so probably better to just rip the band-aid off now.
"There's this guy on the bus. I think he's attractive, that's all," you mutter. Hange seems to light up at the information, and the excited cheer from them tells you that you maybe didn't make the greatest choice telling them about your bus guy.
"Well, tell me about him! What's he like? Have you talked to him? What's his name?" You nervously laugh at their questions and sort of bitterly continue mixing the dough.
"I've got no idea. He just sits there, looks pretty, and gets off, like, two stops before the one I do."
They whistle, not seeming to care that you knew nothing about him. "He's gotta be a real looker if he's got your attention with just that! You're gorgeous, your kids together would be beautiful! Describe him to me, maybe I know him!"
You scoff at that, reaching over the counter to give them a playful punch to the shoulder. "No fucking way, Hange. There's no way you know him."
"If you're so sure of that, then tell me!"
You dramatically groan, wanting to play up your frustration, but it's nice that Hange's so invested in this to keep asking questions.
The two of you met 5 years ago, about a month before your first year of law school started.
You struggled to get your couch up the stairs, and they laughed at you for a good minute or two before helping you up.
Turns out, they only lived 2 doors down and were excited to get a new neighbor their age because, quote, "all the people on this floor are old and grumpy!" It worked out that they wanted to hang out so often because you didn't know anyone in the area yet, and you probably would've become a hermit without them to drag you around.
Hange was doing their master's program, though, so it's not like you went out all the time.
On nights where they had too much on their plate, you'd come over with a batch of cookies and your textbooks so they wouldn't feel so lonely working alone. When you were crammed, they'd come over with some poorly brewed coffee and their laptop so the two of you could watch a bad movie when you were done studying. When you both graduated, you shifted to doing more homely activities, like doing laundry together or meeting up to buy furniture, but the two of you still met regularly outside of when you'd bump into each other in the morning on the way to work.
It was nice to have a friend who accepted you as you were. You knew too that they had a larger friend group that met every so often, but Hange never forced you to join them on their nights out. They'd ask, you'd decline, and they'd happily come back sometime later, usually the next day, and talk all about all the fun things they did. It wasn't that you didn't want other friends.. It was just daunting to try and become apart of a group of friends who've known each other for what seemed like forever.
You made other friends in grad school and later at work, but having Hange at your side throughout all the changes of the past couple years was greatly comforting, even if the two of you didn't really know each other's friends beyond quick descriptions and stories.
To hell with it, there's no way Hange knows this guy. They're right, it wouldn't matter if you told them what he looked like.
You grab some plastic wrap from the far side of the counter and start transferring your dough onto it.
"Alright. Let me put this in to chill first, and we can gossip on the couch."
They almost look surprised, but they get over it pretty quickly and rush over to the couch, making a big show out of getting comfortable. You roll your eyes yet again and close up the plastic wrap around the dough, turning to open the fridge and chuck it in.
"Hurry up! I wanna hear all about him!"
You walk over to them with a shy smile, and when you sit down, you wrap the blanket around yourself before turning to face them.
"Well, what do you wanna know?"
"Everything! But let's start with appearance! What color's his hair? What does he wear when you see him?" Your face starts to burn up yet again at the image of him in your head, but you figure you can bear with it while you talk to Hange.
"His hair's black. It's styled in an undercut. He's usually wearing a suit, but he's probably just coming home from work or something."
Hange seems to be a bit surprised again, but instead of lingering on it, they move on quickly to the next question. "And his face?"
"I've never really gotten a good look at it since he's always looking down, but his eyes are this really pretty grey. I.. don't really know how to describe faces without sounding stupid."
Hange's just eating this up, aren't they? They look like they're racking their brain for other questions, so you figure you could tell them about his keychain to give them some more time to think about what to ask next.
"He has a bird keychain on his backpack, it's pretty cute! It's white, and-"
"Did you just say bird keychain?" Hange interrupts, eyes seemingly boring into your soul. You nod slowly.
"Yeah? Does that mean something to you?"
Instead of answering, Hange goes to their back pocket to take out their phone. After some swiping and tapping, they hand you their phone. On the screen is a picture of... a bird keychain? It's pretty blurry, but it looks just like the one that guy on the bus had.
"Hange, you're messing with me. You just googled a picture of a white bird keychain and got lucky, right?"
You see them shake their head, and it takes you a second to process what that could mean.
"Please tell me you're fucking with me. Please tell me you have no idea who I'm talking about." You stare at them intensely, waiting for an answer from them.
"You take the 143, right?"
You nod slowly.
Instead of asking another question, they break out into a huge smile and tackle you into a hug, squealing excitedly. "I totally know who you're crushing on! Oh gosh, I gotta introduce you to each other immediately! You two would be so good together!"
Well, at least you know now he's single.
"I told you, I don't like him! He's just someone I see on the bus!"
They let go of you but keep their hands on your shoulders, that shit-eating grin still on their face.
"Darling, I'm not letting you get out of this one! Oh, this is perfect! We're having dinner on Sunday, you have to come!"
Before you can even protest, Hange starts rambling on about the details (most of which fly over your head) while animatedly moving their hands.
You knew how hard Hange went when it came to things they wanted. They worked relentlessly in their master's program, they were in charge of setting up plans for their friend group, and they even got your landlord to lower the rent a couple years back.
There was no way you could stop them from dragging you to this dinner. You knew that you really weren't going to "get out of this one," whatever that meant.
Better to accept your fate than fight it, you guess.
But... even though you know you'll be embarrassed to death and you'll probably have to figure out a new bus route to completely avoid this guy after whatever shenanigans Hange's bound to pull, you somehow don't regret telling them about him. They look so happy just thinking about you coming to dinner with them (who even is them?), and you don't have the heart to refuse them and break that joy. They'd never pressured you before into hanging out with their other friends before, so... maybe this could make up for you never taking up their offer to go out with the group.
Or maybe you could figure out how to change your identity and move continents by Sunday.
Yeah, maybe you could do that instead.
But first, you'll have to finish baking those stupid snickerdoodle cookies for Hange.

ME WITHOUT YOU
Tumblr media
Erwin stood in a small huddle of soldiers, overlooking maps. Based on the speed they’d been traveling for the last few hours and, given the relatively few Titan spottings since leaving the Walls, they were on track to make their target; a small grouping of tall trees as yet unexplored and uncharted, by mid-afternoon. It was good news. If they could map out the size of that forest, seen only from a distance on previous expeditions, it could potentially give them a huge advantage. A whisper in the back of Erwin’s mind told him that he was getting closer to the truth with this small step.
He was so engrossed in the conversation and planning that he only hardly registered that Levi hadn’t joined the group yet. He knew that there had been a Titan sighting in that area of the formation; it was entirely possible that his squad was still working on eliminating the threat.
Route decided and everyone in agreement, the huddle broke and Erwin ordered a halt until the remaining soldiers could be accounted for.
He walked to his horse and took a sip from his canteen. Something in his chest felt off. Levi should be back by now, shouldn’t he? Surely his squad wouldn’t take so long to dispatch a few Titans, even if abnormals had been among them. His thoughts were interrupted by a loud call and the thundering of horse hoofs.
“Commander!” came the shout, and he turned to see Gunther racing towards him. “It’s Captain Levi, Sir!”
Erwin was on his horse in seconds, ordering Hange to keep everyone in place until his return. He followed Gunther back the way he came.
“I’m sorry, Sir!” Gunther called as the wind whipped their faces. “The Captain’s wire got grabbed mid-flight by an abnormal. It slammed him into the ground. He’s got a really bad head wound and probably internal bleeding. He keeps asking for you, Sir.”
Erwin tried not to let the fear that was threatening to liquefy his heart show on his face. In his head, he begged his horse to gain just a little more speed.
“Are medics on site already?” he asked, hoping that the trembling in his voice could be attributed to the pace of their riding.
“Yes, Sir.” Gunther leveled a grave look in his direction, which Erwin did his best not to look directly into. “They don’t think he’ll make it.”
Erwin didn’t respond. He grit his teeth as he spotted a cluster of people and horses slide into view in front of him and he urged his horse onward. Just a little faster.
Coming up on the cluster of people, Erwin could see Levi’s squad standing together, in various stages of hugging each other and holding back tears. Miche loomed over the medics, who knelt on the ground around a crumpled body. He could already tell there was too much blood.
His horse had barely trotted to a stop before Erwin leapt off and jogged the rest of the way. Miche turned to him, a deep frown on his face. He placed a hand on Erwin’s shoulder, halting him for the barest of moments.
“We took down the abnormal. Levi was the only one it got.”
Erwin fixed him with a stare that he knew betrayed his fear. He couldn’t hide it anyway, not from his best friend.
“He doesn’t have long, Erwin. I’ll get people out of the way, leave you two to it.”
Erwin managed a whispered ‘thanks’ before breaking through the group of medics and kneeling by Levi’s broken form. He held out his arms and the medic holding the man passed him over, their entire lower body soaked red when they pulled away. Erwin distantly heard Miche order everyone to form a perimeter around the area and give some space.
Erwin could hardly breathe as he stared down at Levi. It was clear that he had suffered a skull fracture, and blood coated his face. Every quivering breath that Levi took caused a sickening crunch of shattered bones that Erwin felt under his fingertips. His mouth hung open, teeth crimson, wheezing bubbles gurgling past his lips. Blood freely flowed from his nose. Erwin felt nauseated, the sting of loss already seizing his heart as he bent down to whisper to the man dying in his arms.
“Levi?” He was afraid of saying it too loud, as though death would hear him and snatch him away more quickly.
“E-er-e-” came the reply as Levi struggled for air.
“Ssshh,” Erwin stroked a hand through sticky hair. “It’s okay. I’m right here.”
“I-I’m sssso-sorry,” Levi gasped. His chest heaved and ragged coughs tore through him, spraying blood on Erwin’s chest.
“Don’t try to talk,” Erwin urged. His free hand moved from Levi’s hair to grab a limp hand laying in the grass. “Just stay with me a little longer, okay?”
Erwin squeezed the hand he had wrapped in his own, but he didn’t feel a response. Levi fixed him with a stare, drifting as the light fell from them. Erwin though he saw tears mix into the blood on the man’s face. Levi’s mouth moved without sound, and with a final cough, he was gone.
***
Levi’s funeral was meant to be small and private, but the news of the death of Humanity’s Strongest drew people from the smallest villages all the way to the capitol to observe the procession and service. Newspapers throughout the cities questioned how much hope Humanity had of regaining territory if even Captain Levi could not avoid death at the hands of Titans.
Some argued that Erwin should resign, saying that it was the recklessness of the Long Distance Scouting Formation that killed a man who could otherwise have been protected by others had the ranks been tighter. Dozens of soldiers transferred to the Garrison or left the military altogether. The Special Operations Squad was handed over to Miche, who initially offered them a leave of absence but ultimately, per their insistence, drilled them harder than they had in months on the training grounds. The whole squad seemed determined to sweat away their grief.
Erwin stayed in his office for days after the funeral. Officially, he was signing death notices, coordinating with squad leaders to deliver said notices, and reading and writing reports from the expedition. Unofficially, he was drinking a half bottle of scotch every night. He struggled to fall asleep at night and struggled to find the will to wake up in the morning.
Miche brought him food, but it wasn’t until his normally quiet friend scolded him for ignoring his last three meals that he ate anything. Even then, it was a struggle to keep it down. Miche asked him one morning, as he supervised Erwin eating breakfast and drinking a cup of coffee, if he wanted to talk about Levi’s death. The only reply he received was the slamming of the bathroom door and the sound of retching.
Erwin lost count of how many days he’d been in his office. Something in the back of his mind said it was two weeks, but the concept of time had been lost to him. He sat at the window, staring out over the training grounds. The Special Operations Squad was training again, and Ouro skidded to a stop in the grass and sank to his knees. It was quick to see he was crying. He was followed quickly by Petra and then Eld and Gunther, the four of them huddled together. Erwin couldn’t hear their wails, but the shaking of their bodies told him enough. He finished his third glass of scotch for the day.
A knock brought him hazily back into his office and he grunted to allow entry. Hange carefully opened the door and peered in. They quickly entered and shut the door behind them. Hange crossed the distance to where Erwin sat and looked at the emptied glass in his hand. They snatched the glass and the bottle of scotch and opened the window and tossed them out. Erwin could only watch with a distant apathy that he couldn’t connect between the front and back of his mind. A glass of water was shoved into his hand.
“Drink up, Erwin.” Hange resolutely leaned against the wall near the window. “Time to sober up and move forward.”
Erwin watched Hange’s face for a long time before turning to look back outside. Miche stood below the window, in front of the mess of glass and spilled liquor, looking up. Hange gave a thumbs up. Miche returned the gesture and returned to his squad.
Erwin sipped from the glass and stared blankly forward, through Hange and into some dark space he couldn’t identify.
“Levi’s dead,” he whispered. They were the first words he’d said in days.
“Yes. He is.” Hange’s tone turned soft.
“It’s my fault,” Erwin said. “He trusted me and I killed him.”
“Everyone in the Corps trusts you, Erwin.” Hange pressed a hand to his cheek and rubbed a thumb against the stubble. “And many of them die in the field. But you don’t drink this much scotch for all of them.”
“Levi was special.” Erwin was surprised by the challenging tone of his voice, like he expected Hange to argue with him on that fact. He became aware of a voice in his head supply, to me. He was special to me.
“He was,” Hange agreed. “He was incredible in so many ways. But he was also human, just like the rest of us.”
Erwin didn’t have a response for that. He drank the rest of the water and felt his stomach flip. He willed his body to hold it down. Hange went to the bathroom and poured another glass. Within two hours, filled mostly with silence, he had drank five glasses of water, pissed three times, and sobered up completely.
“Erwin, I actually came to ask you a favour,” Hange said after he emerged from the bathroom again.
“What is it?” Erwin didn’t like the apologetic look on their face.
“I was going to start cleaning out Levi’s office and, well. He left something for you on his desk. It’s a note.”
***
Sitting neatly in the centre of the desk was a small envelope. Written in thin lettering was, E.S. and Erwin picked it up, running a hand through his hair before opening it. He was expecting a long letter or a will, but instead was written simply,
Third drawer left. Underside.
-L
Erwin reread the note several times before looking around the room. Hange was busying themselves with the small bookshelf across the room, muttering quietly to no one in particular.
Glancing down at Levi’s desk, he furrowed brow with deeper confusion. Levi’s desk had two drawers on each side, not three. His bedroom didn't have a desk, and the small dresser had a single row of drawers.
The realization hit Erwin like a horse at full speed. He left the room, only vaguely aware of how abrupt his actions were by the confused noise Hange made. They did not follow him.
Just a minute later, Erwin was standing in front of his own desk, looking at the third drawer down on the left side. He glanced at the note again and something in his chest churned. He set the paper on his desk and pulled the drawer out and away from base, lifting it above his head, but he didn't find a note stuck to the underside. He set it down on top of the desk and stared at the contents; shoe polish and a rag and brush, a spare comb, a cluster of documents, a tin of sweets he kept for late nights. Nothing he hadn't seen hundreds of times, and nothing out of the ordinary. Slowly, he pushed at the bottom of the drawer, overhanging the edge of the desk. He did not expect it to lift, nor did he expect it to keep lifting as he continued to push upwards.
The bottom plank of the drawer peaked out over the top, followed almost immediately by a second plank. Curious, Erwin pressed the index finger of his free hand to hold the upper plank and slowly allowed the lower one to settle back down into position. In the space between the two planks sat a larger envelope, Erwin’s name written out in Levi’s unmistakable penmanship. Erwin slid the envelope out and let the upper plank drop unceremoniously back into place.
This envelope felt a good deal heavier than the one that contained the cryptic note. Erwin leaned back in his chair, breath caught in his throat, unsure he could handle whatever was contained within. Slowly, he spun the envelope around and pulled the flap away from the wax seal keeping it closed. He pulled out the sheets lying inside and unfolded them and read.
Erwin-
If you're reading this, that means I've died during an expedition. I've been leaving the note with the clue to finding this letter on my desk just before we've left for expeditions for years now. This letter has changed over time; I've written new ones as necessary, but the intention has always been the same.
I hope you didn't have to see me die. I hope I was already gone when you found out. I know all too well what it's like to watch the light fade from someone's eyes, to feel their heartbeat stop, to feel the warmth leave their body. I desperately hope you didn't have to endure that for me. If you did, I'm sorry. I hope it was quick.
I hope you don't mind that I modified your desk drawer to hide this note. I didn't want to risk someone else finding it when they were cleaning out my office. At least this way, I have more hope that you will be the only one to read this. (By the way, I did it when you were in a meeting at the capitol one day. Yes, I learned how to do it in the Underground. No, none of my own drawers have a false bottom.)
Do me a favour, and do not blame yourself for my death. Whatever the circumstances were, just know it wasn't your fault. I know you'll probably still blame yourself, but I want to say it anyway.
Just know that everything I did, I did for you, and your dream. I know that sounds hopelessly subservient and like I'm just trying to make you feel good, but it’s true. I don't know that I've ever been able to explain it, but ever since we met, I've felt this draw to you. Like I waited my whole life to find you so I could follow you and be the strength you needed to accomplish anything.
Erwin, I hope you know that I have no regrets about following you. Just the opposite in fact. You may not have realized it – or maybe you did, you're always so damned perceptive – but you gave me a freedom I could not have achieved on my own. You gave me the wings I used to fly – literally and figuratively. With you, I had something to live for beyond just surviving through the day so I could survive through the next. I could never have enough words to tell you how grateful I am for that. You looked beyond the street thug with bad manners and saw something more, something that you thought was worth giving a chance. My whole life, no one had ever been willing to do that. Maybe all you saw that day was my strength and maybe that's all you wanted, and that's okay. I hope it was more than that. I hope what I've been sensing from you means it was more than that.
There's something you should know, and I've been too scared to tell you. Even now, I'm hesitating to write it out.
I love you, Erwin.
I'm so sorry I never told you. I've loved you for so long, and I was too much of a damned coward to say it. I hate that this is the way you'll find out. I hate that I'll never know if you feel the same way.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Erwin, please keep living, for me. Get your answers, fulfill your dream. Learn what really lies beyond the walls. See the world, however large or small it may be. I'll be with you, standing by your side. Even if you can't see me, or feel my hand wrap around yours, I'll be there. I promise.
I love you in every lifetime, in this world, and the next, and all the others after that. I'll wait for you at the end of time.
-Levi
Erwin held the sheet of paper in his hands and stared at the words for a long time, tears streaming down his cheeks. He placed the papers on his desk and held his head in his hands as sobs wracked through his body, heaving his chest and shaking him from head to toe.
“God, Levi,” he said to the room. “I love you too. I’m sorry I never told you. Fuck, I’m so sorry.”
He let himself cry until there was nothing left, being only distantly aware of Miche and Hange taking turns to poke their heads into the room to check on him. When only miserable groans fell from his lips and his head ached with grief, he allowed himself at last to pick up the papers and turn beyond Levi’s letter. Behind it sat a much shorter one.
Erwin-
I’m leaving everything I have to you. I know up on the Surface, people would call it “my estate,” but I don’t really have anything that would amount to an actual estate. So just, my stuff. I’m leaving you my stuff. All the shit in my office can go wherever; you can even leave it for whoever takes it next for all I care. What I actually want you to have is in a small chest under my bed. It’s not locked. There isn’t a lot in there. Just my other cravats (did you know I made them from one of my mother’s old dresses? It’s the only thing I have left of her. I promise they’re clean), the Survey Corps patches I took from Furlan’s uniform after he and Isabel died (I couldn’t find the rest of Izzy’s body to take hers), and that history book you gave me for my birthday that one year. I know I made fun of you for giving me a gift of something you like, but I did read it. I read it over and over and over. It was a part of you that you gave to me. And I have cherished it so much. I hope it’s okay for me to give it back to you now.
-Levi
Erwin walked into Levi’s bedroom and found the chest under the bed. He slowly pulled the contents from it, pausing to smell one of the cravats. It still had a hint of Levi’s scent underneath the smell of soap. When he pulled the book out, he found that the cover was held up slightly by something. Pulling it open, he felt another sob catch in his throat. A thin golden ring sat pressed into the first few pages, with a twist of paper wrapped around it.
Erwin pulled the ring out and unraveled the paper. It read simply:
Even after death do us part.
I do.
Erwin slid the ring onto his finger and whispered through his sobs, “I do.”
In the darkness of the room, he had the distant sense of a kiss pressed to his lips.

Angel of Paradis
Pairing: Levi Ackerman x Reader
Warnings: Spoilers from Season 4. Mentions of gun violence, blood, death
A/N: Now I know EP8 is only the beginning of the end but goddamn it hurts!! I love potato girl and losing her just tore me to bits. So here, take this. Its my way of coping I guess..
Tumblr media
Levi is pissed off. From the start, he disliked the plan but it wasn't like Eren gave you all much of a choice. So the moment the kid got on the airship, he was welcomed with one of the captain's infamous kicks. The cockpit wall quakes with the impact and Hange sighs, shooting you a look. "I think you need to get out there and make sure Levi doesn't kill Eren, Y/n." She says exasperatedly and you nod, rising from your seat next to Onyankopon.
"I'll be right back." You say and she flashes you a knowing grin, shaking her head slightly. Even the commander knows you're the only one who could reign in the Levi Ackerman.
You see Levi on the corner glaring at Eren as he was being tied up. You sigh heavily, seeing Eren steaming as he heals. Jaw probably unhinged from the captain's kick. You sat beside him on the bench and pulled out a handkerchief, wiping his face clean from dirt and blood.
"Y/n-san." He greets you monotonously and you gave him a kind smile. "Hey, kid." You greet back, tucking loose strands of his now long hair behind his ear.
Your heart aches at the sight. He used to have so much fire, had the same will to fight for humanity that you only ever saw in your mentor, Erwin. Now all you see is ember of pure hatred and cold blooded need for revenge. "I'm glad you're okay." You murmur. Eren's blank stare softens for a second and a small smile hints the corner of his mouth. "Glad to see you too, Lieutenant." He says quietly and out of the corner of your eyes, you see Levi roll his eyes and make a disgruntled sound as he turns around.
You walk up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Levi meets your gaze with his dull gray ones for a second and sighs, his expression softening too. At this you smile a little and say, "We still have a long battle to fight ahead of us, Captain. Things might not have gone smoothly, but we won today." You remind him and as if proving your point, right on the other side of the ship you hear the soldiers celebrate as they reunite.
"You're right." He agrees. Levi then takes a deep breath and grabs the hand you placed on his shoulder so he can bring it to his face. He turns his head and placed a chaste kiss on your palm. Your heart flutters at the gesture. It isn't grand but was still something you couldn't quite get used to. You two never declared your love for one another, never really had the luxury of time or chance to do so, but small acts like this was enough to let you know that your presence provided him the calm he sorely needs. And that was all you want. Be his peace in this war.
"I'm going to check if the rest of the squad made it back up." You tell him, grazing your thumb on his lower lip and he reluctantly lets you go. "Be back as soon as you can. Meeting will start as soon as this fucking monkey heals enough." He says, cold glare flashing at the other Jaeger who is a pile of steam still laying on the ground. "Okay, I'll just check on Lima's squad. They're the last ones to be picked up supposedly." Levi nods again and watches you leave before turning to talk to Yelena.
You smile past Floch and the other soldiers who are weeping, hugging and making their tributes for those whom had fallen in battle. You then saw three of the soldiers you've grown close with through the years. They were huddled in the corner, sharing a hug.
You hear Jean say in protest, "Dont hug people with that lump ass iron gear on.", while shrugging off Connie's arm. You chuckle at this and tackled him back to the embrace. "Shut the hell up, Jean. I would take Connie's armored hugs any day!" To which the trio whines out, " Lieutenant Y/l/n!!" when you squished them tight.
Although the new gear designed by Hange was in deed not made for hugging, you four relaxed in the uncomfortable embrace. Grounded by the fact that you all made it safe despite the battle you had just gone through. Connie and Sasha smile up at you while Jean tries to still look annoyed, although the softness in his eyes says otherwise.
The soldiers left below start coming in and the cheering just grows even louder. You didn't have the heart to stop them because you yourself are quite happy that today was a success despite some casualties. Now, you have the War Hammer titan as well and were able to destroy the fleet. Now, the Eldians' chance stands higher against this damn war.
"Did you hear that just now?"
Sasha asks out of the blue and you turn to her in wonder. Honestly you couldn't hear anything but the soldiers celebrating. But out of the lot of you, you know Sasha's sense of hearing is far superior than all of you combined. So you take a step back from the crowd and actually looked around.
"Hey, quiet down!!"Jean yells over the chanting but Floch shouts, "Make some noise! Victory!!!" And was echoed by the rest as they embraced and pumped their fists in the air.
"Hey!" Jean tries again only to be pulled by Connie to the side to ask, "Isn't Lobov-san still out there?"
"No, I think he came aboard." Jean says thoughtfully and this was when something didn't sit quite right with you. Commander Lobov is a man that is hard to miss. And with his dedication to this mission to make up for his years being a useless garrison, he would be amongst the soldiers cheering the loudest for the said victory.
Your instincts has never failed you before and its the very reason why you are so good at your job and able to survive this long. But sometimes, you wish that your instincts aren't always right because you always perceive danger. And right now, every fiber of your being is telling you something is fucking wrong.
That if you were to look out the airship right now, you'll probably see the commander lifeless.
Or worse, an enemy may have made its way up to the ship.
Your blood runs cold for a split second before you acted purely out of instinct. You shove Sasha to the side, dreading as you head for the airship's side door and at the exact moment.. someone aboards.
Your gaze met the kid's muddy brown ones. It was determined, filled with fury and you saw that there isn't any trace of hesitation as her finger pulls the trigger. You knew you didn't stand a chance judging by look on her face and her sure aim on your torso. The word of warning you want to let out was caught in your throat as she fires.
You remember seeing those crazed brown eyes and then the ceiling of the airship the next. The sensation of what can only be compared to fire piercing your skin spreads through your chest and insides like molten metal. You hear the indistinct noise of the soldiers' voices grow louder yet muffled at the same time around you.
From happy cheers to manic, hysterical screaming.
You couldn't catch your breath at first and you aren't sure from which. Was it from falling flat on your back? Or was it the searing pain that made tears leak from your eyes?
And then above the chaos, you hear your three closest comrades call your name in unison.
"Lieutenant Y/n, hey!!!" Connie's frantic voice shrill through the limited space of the ship. "Hang in there, hey!" You feel him rattle you, placing his rough calloused hand against your cheek. Jean's panic stricken face comes to your field of vision and you whimper,  "A kid." You gasp. "In the airship."
"Bandages! Now! We need to stop the bleeding!" Jean commands shakily and the rest of the soldiers that aren't capturing the two intruders scramble to get the med kit and the captain.
"Y/n-san, please hold on until we make it to the island!!" Connie pleads but hopelessness crawls his veins as he sees your blood flood the wooden floors.
"Keep him safe." You whisper out to nobody. The captain in mind. Your eye lids grow heavy but you didn't want to close them. No. You can't die. You promised him.
"Don't you dare die on me, Y/l/n." His voice echoes in your mind, compelling you to keep breathing despite how excruciating it feels.
Sasha who was frozen at first, snapped out of her shock as she hears Connie's voice call your name out of sheer panic when your eyes fall close. She then runs to meet the soldier carrying the bandages and was at your side in an instant. With trembling hands, Sasha tries with all her might to wrap you up and stop the bleeding.
"No, no, no, no!!" She starts sobbing while watching the bandage turn red, your gushing blood seeping through no matter how tight she puts the wrap around you. "Y/n-san, no, you can't leave us like this." Sasha hiccups, wiping her tears hastily before grabbing your now cold clammy hand and pressing it to her face. "Please!" She cries, eyes falling close.
If you hadn't pushed her, if you didn't step in her place, it would have been her that got shot. Guilt rakes through her as she watches you desperately fight for your life.
You can feel yourself drifting and you felt helpless. You then meet Sasha's, Jean's and then Connie's gaze, muttering with your remaining strength, "Protect him." And it was no request but an order.
Jean stumbles away, his hands going over his ears, unable to stand your labored breaths and Connie and Sasha's whimpering. Jean felt like hurling when Floch turned the kids to him. The other responsible for you being on the brink of death.
But to those two kids, they are the enemies who wreck havoc to their hometown. Floch wanted to kill them and throw them out but what good would that do? Would taking their lives save yours? And knowing you, who practically treat soldiers like them like your kids even though you were just a few years older than them, you would be disappointed in him at the mere thought of hurting these kids.
Jean can almost hear your angelic voice, "They're just children." You would say. So with a vexed expression and heavy turmoil growing within him, he ties them up and led them to where the captain and commander are.
Jean swallows hard when the captain's cold gaze met his and asks, "Who are these kids?"
By the looks of it, he still does not know.
"They killed Lobov-san and used his gear to come aboard." A lump forms in his throat, suddenly can no longer meet the captain's gaze. "A-and this one here, she.. shot Lieutenant Y/l/n."
Levi's eyes widen. Did he just hear Jean correctly? You? Shot? You were with him just minutes ago. No, how is that possible?-
"Captain, I-I don't think she'll make it." He continues, voice faltering. The grievance in Jean's face make Levi's blood run cold. He stumbles forward a bit as Armin and Mikasa run past him but he seemed frozen in his tracks.
No.
You got hurt but you'll pull through this. You always have. You promised him. And you are one of the toughest people he knows.
Levi tries to convince himself as he glared back at Zeke. He tries to distract himself from the cold fear of losing you with the blinding rage he feels for the Beast Titan wielder. But then, the door swings open again and Levi felt something terribly wrong right away.
And when Connie appears with tears sliding down his face and says,
"Y/n-san.. is dead."
Levi's entire world shifts.
Everyone was shellshocked for a moment. Because how could you be gone just like that? When you were just with them just minutes ago providing comfort to all of them? Passing by and giving them a wave of peace and calmness like the angel that you are.
Hange wobbles, her knees growing weak and its as if someone had punched her in the chest. The pain reminiscent as the day she watched Moblit vanish before her eyes. You were her right hand woman. Her confidant.
Eren's head hung in disbelief. His mind clouded by your kind smile just earlier and telling him you're actually glad to see him. Him. The monster who had just devastated a whole town and killed probably thousands of people. He thought that by now, he'd have gotten used to losing the people around him but losing you is gutting him. Its was like losing family. A sister.
"Connie.. did Y/n-san have any last words?" He asks mindlessly, wanting to know what your last thoughts were. Connie blinks through his tears and his eyes drifts to the captain, whose face was undreadable and knuckles threatening to split open at how tightly his balled fists are clenched.
"She said.. 'Protect him.'" Connie mutters and Levi's facade breaks.
The mob of weeping soldiers parted as the captain staggers to the back of the ship where you lay. Armin and Mikasa were still curled up beside you, their faces red and puffy from wailing. Both of them reluctantly stood up and stepped away as he walks closer. His gaze was still trained on the ground as he puts one foot in front of the other.
He shudders and stop midstep as his foot steps on the crimson stained wood. Before he knows it, he falls on his knees with a thud. Your pale hand comes into his field of vision and he takes a deep shakey breath as he reaches for it. His eyes darts everywhere but your face. The bandage on your middle, the boots on your feet that he had his fair share of shinning as his token of appreciation for you making his morning teas, the emblem of the Wings of Freedom embedded on your breast plate.
Your hand felt cold and stiff against his. A stark contast of the warmth it exuded on his cheek just moments ago.
"Y/n?" He croaks.
Suddenly his breathing shallows as the deafening silence stretches on. He can still smell you but can no longer feel you although you're right fucking there. Levi wanted this to some fucked up nightmare. But then, as he steels his nerves and finally looked at your face, his heart shatters.
Your hair is uncharacteristically dishevelled, e/c eyes lifeless, pupils middilated and your mouth parted ever so slightly.
Levi pulls you in his arms frantically, plethora of would have been and should have been anchoring his heart into a sea of regret.
He should have never let you out the damn door.
He should have held you tighter.
He should have you talked to you longer.
He should have told you.. he loves you.
He never even got to tell you.
Levi's face crumples, face reddening before a resentful yell erupts from him. The soldiers wince at the sound. It was pure agony and it pierces through each and everyone of them, bringing the lot of them back to tears if they ever stopped in the first place.
The entire flight back to Paradis, Levi held you the way he wished he did while you were still with him.

Could you write some smut reader/Zeke/Levi? Btw the one reader/Zeke/Reiner/Porco was ✨✨✨🤤👀👀❤
I worked on this fic for a MONTH thanks to my fever brain <’3
Tumblr media
Zeke Yeager x female!reader x Levi Ackerman
cw: threesome, oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex, creampies, backshot, double penetration, fingering, biting/marking, rough sex, clit slapping, face slapping (once), spit kink, very minor injury (cut on lip), slight angst
Tumblr media
The scent of smoke fills your senses with every soft puff of breath he lets out along your neck, his lips trailing along it like you are made off of the nicotine he’s so addicted to. As his hands dip below the fabric of your shirt, you can’t help but wonder how you ended up here, meeting in the middle of the night in a lonely storage space, in the arms of a man who by all means should be the enemy.
When his lips find yours, you can taste the answer on them. You had been lonely, so lonely. The man you loved had long made it clear he had no intention of being with you, he barely spared you a glance most of the time. When you had confessed how you felt, he had flat out rejected you, no reason had been specified outside ‘I can’t.’. Zeke was the exact opposite of him, not only as a person but also in his interest in you. He didn’t avert his eyes when you passed by, he didn’t give you cold stares, instead he gazed at you with lust without any hesitation or shame.
Was it weak of you to give in to this morally corrupt man so easily? Probably, but you were sick of spending the cold nights on Paradis alone, and Zeke was more than willing to keep you company.
Zeke’s touch feels wrong, yet it awakens a fire inside of you. Every spot he touches seems to tingle with anticipation, and you sigh into the kiss. Had it been so long?
Too lost in your thoughts to hear the jiggling of the doorknob, you are unaware someone has just entered the room, the feeble lock having easily given in. By the time Zeke notices, his hand has already been snatched away from under your shirt, his normally great senses having been slowed by his arousal.
“Do I have to cut your hands off again, beast?!”
You look on in shock as Zeke’s hand is forced to his back, and a knife is brought to his throat. You recognize the voice instantly, you have spent too many years around him not to. “Levi!”
“You think you can assault one of my soldiers?! You think you can lay your dirty hands on her?!” Though you can’t see his expression from behind Zeke, his voice lets you know he’s furious.
Zeke huffs but doesn’t move, an irritated look on his face at the interruption. “I think you have the wrong impression here. This wasn’t my idea.” His tone is smug, provoking Levi to dig the blade into the skin of Zeke’s neck.
“He’s right!” You say quickly, your hands quivering by your side. Though you would prefer to just disappear at the moment, you need to speak up before it gets even further out of hand. Out of all people, why him?!
The knife retreats from Zeke’s throat, leaving a single scarlet droplet in its wake. His lips quirk up slightly into a smile, smug at the short freeze he had noticed from the man behind him.
You want to avert your eyes when Levi steps out of Zeke’s shadow, but you don’t want to be disrespectful, not more than you already were by messing around with the enemy anyway.
“What did you say?” Levi asks, steel eyes commanding you to repeat yourself.
Your throat feels dry out of nowhere as your gaze locks onto his. “I said that he’s right. What you saw was my idea, captain.”
His usual stoic expression twists to one of hurt for just a brief moment, disappearing within seconds. He regained his composure so quickly that you question whether you actually saw it or were just imagining it.
Levi returns his knife to its sheath, eyes burning holes into your form. “We’re leaving.”
You blink in confusion, looking from Zeke to Levi and back. “What? I know what Yeager has done, but I wasn’t aware that interpersonal relationships aren’t allowed, seeing how things were going with-“
“It’s not about that!” Levi barks out, making you flinch. You had seen him angry like this only a handful of times, and only in situations far worse than this.
Zeke comes closer to you, facing Levi with a shrug of his shoulders. “Seems like y/n wants to stay with me.”
This whole situation is growing more awkward by the minute. Normally you would go with Levi without a second thought, but now you found someone that desires you you don’t want to give it up that easily. The thought of spending another 6 years of your limited life alone makes you stand your ground.
“You can have her,” Levi says, causing your heart to plummet to your stomach.
“When I’m six feet under the ground.”
You stare at Levi. His expression and voice have calmed down, but his anger seems to roll off of him in waves. Should you be happy? More than likely this has nothing to do with you, and all with the promise he made to Erwin.
You fiddle with your skirt uneasily. Gods, how could you be doing this? What a betrayal to all who have fought and died by your side these past few years.
Zeke glances over to you, taking in your nervous form before sighing. “I’m not sure if it will wreck your little soldier, but I don’t mind sharing.”
If you weren’t absolutely frozen in shock, your jaw would drop to the floor. Your turbulent thoughts are instantly blown away by Zeke’s words, a whole new moral conflict arising. Heat rises to your cheeks at his suggestion, the word choice of ‘wreck’ making your knees embarrassingly weak.
Levi grits his teeth. “I must have knocked some threads loose last time we fought for you to even suggest such a thing.”
His rejection doesn’t surprise you in the slightest. He didn’t want to sleep with you when it was just you and him, so now with Zeke here? No chance.
Zeke takes off his glasses, examining them in the light of the lantern before polishing them on his sleeve. He’s practically oozing disinterest, which you are guessing is the point. “I understand. You don’t want to do anything that will leave you embarrassed.” He says.
Levi stares him down, but Zeke continues casually polishing his glasses. “What are you implying?”
You look at Zeke, shaking your head slightly. Just drop it, this is madness.
“I don’t think I need to tell you what I’m implying.” He sighs when Levi doesn’t say anything.
“Just stop!”
Their gazes both snap to you after you yell. Your fists are balled, form trembling slightly from embarrassment and adrenaline. Sure, the prospect is exciting, but it will never happen, and at this point, you are starting to feel humiliated over the continuous rejections from Levi.
“I’m leaving.” You tell them and start walking towards the door, adjusting your messy shirt on the way. Levi tries to grab your arm when you pass, but you slap his hand away. “Alone.”
You already have the doorknob in your hand when the wood of the door shakes with impact. Wide-eyed, you look at the boot that’s keeping the door shut. The owner of it gazes at you with a conflicted look. “If you want to stay with him, stay.” He spat out the word ‘him’ like it was poison on his tongue.
Your gaze travels up his form and to his face, confusion written all over yours. What is this pushing and pulling? Stay, leave, which is it?
“Y/n, come.” You look back, seeing Zeke beckoning you with open arms, his glasses back on his face.
You chew on your lips, glancing between the two men once again. Levi drops his gaze, avoiding your questioning eyes. Ah yes, that’s how it is, isn’t it? The previous moments were exactly that, moments, and they had passed now he had come back to his senses.
Slowly, your hand slips from the doorknob, and as it does you can sense Levi tensing up next to you. Not daring to look at him in fear of conflicting your heart any further, you go back to Zeke. As you stare at your new lover with a stinging heart, you hear shuffling behind you. When you turn your head you find that Levi has propped an old chair under the doorknob, closing the storage room off more effectively.
“You didn’t think I was going to leave her with you, did you?”
What? Your mind races as Zeke pulls you closer, hugging your back to his chest and his fingers finding your chin. Levi is... staying? You are given no time to process what this means as Zeke’s lips press against yours. He drags you into a wild kiss, forcing your mouth open by your chin so he can push his tongue past your lips. One of his legs pushes yours apart from behind, your skirt hiking up on his knee. You squeeze your eyes shut in embarrassment, the person you admire the most watching you get devoured by another man.
Zeke pulls away from the kiss slightly, leaving his tongue sticking out so he can show off the string of saliva connecting it with yours. He glances at Levi from the side, keeping you panting in your position. “Let’s get to it then, if you hadn’t interrupted us I would’ve already been between her legs.” Heat creeps up your neck at his crude words.
“Bastard.” Levi curses under his breath, sharp eyes finding yours. You can’t place his look, there’s anger there for sure, but also something else.
After Zeke’s little display, you are expecting him to leave the room any second and have him never want to look you in the eye again, but instead of doing that, he starts undoing the straps of his uniform.
It’s impolite to stare, but how couldn’t you? In all these years you’d never seen him anymore bare than in his nightclothes, and here he was, getting ready to strip right in front of you. Taking advantage of your distracted mind, Zeke swiftly pulls up your shirt, exposing your bra to them and making goosebumps rise on your skin from the cold air. As Levi’s eyes trail over your chest, you regret your choice of bra. It has a very low-cut cup, barely covering your nipples.
Zeke’s one hand remains on your chin as the other snakes up to the exposed flesh of your breasts. You shiver when he traces a finger just above the edge of your bra. “You even wore something nice for me? I’m honored.” Zeke presses his lips to your ear but still says it loudly enough for Levi to hear. You really had. It’s not like you had a ton of fancy underwear laying around, 98% of it were practical ones that weren’t exactly eye candy.
You gasp when Zeke backs up for a second and swiftly pulls your shirt off completely, forcing your arms up. He easily catches your wrists together in one colossal hand, keeping your arms up to ensure you can’t cover yourself.
“What do you think, Levi, should I take off everything?” Zeke asks, amusement sounding in his voice.
Your wide eyes move to Levi, a frustrated expression showing on his face. You would’ve thought he wasn’t enjoying it if it wasn’t for the obvious imprint in his pants.
Zeke tuts at Levi’s lack of answer, freehand creeping down your stomach and to the fabric of your skirt. “You’re right, it’s better to take our time.”
He crunches the fabric up in his hand, slowly pulling it up more and more until your panties are revealed. His breath is hot on your ear, becoming noticeably faster when his fingers grace over the silk of your underwear. Your arms wiggle in his grip as his fingers tease over your heat, sliding past your clothed slit. The more pressure he puts against the material, the more your body heats up, and soon he can feel a damp spot through it.
You look at Levi through your lashes, lids low as you hang back against Zeke’s body and let him explore yours. The embarrassment has mostly faded and you allow yourself to stare at him to your heart’s content. You notice everything; the subtle twitches of his face, his widened pupils, the way he swallows heavily every time a tiny mewl escapes your mouth. All of it combined with Zeke’s touches is sending electricity through your body.
Zeke’s hand trails up slightly, leaving your damp panties to stick to your core. You turn your head to the side, giving him a pleading look to take them off. He tugs at your arms, making you stand straighter and causing your ass to bump against his crotch, letting you feel the noticeable bulge there. His hand dips underneath the elastic of your panties, causing your breath to hitch in your throat. The pads of his fingers cause shivers to run down your body as they glide over your mount before dipping between your legs. You open your legs slightly so he can reach you well, causing him to chuckle.
“Eager aren’t we?” He has a hungry glint in his eyes when they meet yours.
You lean into his touch when his fingers stroke over your slit, gathering your slick on them. He parts your folds gently with two of his fingers, his middle finger teasing over your entrance. Levi comes closer, lured in by the pants and whimpers falling from your lips. Heat rises to your cheeks as he stands in front of you, barely any distance between the two of you. He looks down at where Zeke’s hand is teasing your cunt, Zeke’s finger lightly pressing on your entrance before moving away once again.
Levi’s hands come up, cupping your soft breasts in them. You bite your lip as he rubs your hardened nipples through the fabric with his thumbs. His gaze shoots up as soon as a moan sounds from you, one corner of his lips quirking up. More moans slip past your lips as he rolls your nipples between two of his fingers, the thin fabric of your bra adding even more friction.
Zeke frowns behind you. All he got was a few whimpers until now, but Levi touches you and you are moaning like a whore. No, he can’t have that.
You cry out when two of Zeke’s fingers suddenly thrust into your tight heat, a wet squelch resonating throughout the room. You barely notice Levi’s hands freezing on your breasts as Zeke’s fingers curl inside of you, intently searching for the rough patch on your walls.
Levi grabs onto your chin, his other hand harshly fondling your breast. He isn’t pleased like when you moaned for him, far from it. His lips crash onto yours, catching your open mouth by surprise. The moans enticed by Zeke’s fingers are muffled by Levi’s tongue, both men groaning as you shake between their forms. This isnt how you expected your first kiss with Levi, but you might just like it more, the desperation behind it intoxicating.
Zeke’s fingers finally find their target, and he notices instantly as your arms jerk in his grip, your cunt clenching around him. He pushes and strokes over the spot feverishly, and not even Levi’s mouth can muffle your moans anymore.
“You should feel how she’s sucking me in, Levi. I’ve never felt such an eager cunt.” Zeke taunts. Levi doesn’t answer, lips moving against yours so roughly that you feel like your lips will be bruised afterward.
You’re getting close, you can feel it as your whole body starts tensing, bucking into Zeke’s curling fingers. You aren’t sure if Levi means to add to it, but as his hand dips below the fabric of your bra, nail softly raking over your sensitive nipple, you feel yourself rushing towards the edge.
It only takes a few more strokes of Zeke’s fingers before you cum around them. Your legs buckle and tense as you orgasm, Zeke praising you and grinding his bulge against your ass. “That’s it, good girl.”
Levi causes you to yelp out in pain when he bites down on your bottom lip out of nowhere, breaking a tiny part of the skin. You stare at him in shock as he backs up, still shaking from cumming as you watch him wipe the trickle of blood away from his lip. Even Zeke wasn’t expecting that, his fingers leaving your heat quickly and forcing your face to the side. He examines the small cut on your lip even as you try to cringe away from him cupping your face with slick covered fingers.
“Don’t cum for that animal when your mouth is on mine.”
You look at Levi from the corner of your eye. He doesn’t seem angry or shocked with himself, instead, he seems pleased.
Zeke chuckles. “Jealousy doesn’t suit you, Levi.”
His grip tightens on your wiggling wrists as you try to get some space between the two of you. He tuts at you, making your eyes dart back to his. You can tell from his grin that the little sympathy he might have had just now has disappeared.
“Open your mouth.” He says. He can feel your jaw tense at his words. He loves how innocently wide-eyed you look at him while knowing full well that your cunt is throbbing at the idea of obeying him.
Slowly, you open your mouth, and Zeke’s fingers ease off of your jaw. When you have opened your mouth wide enough for his liking, he slides the two wet fingers past your lips, deliberately going past the cut. Your taste is mixed with a faint hint of blood, but you don’t stop to think about it as Zeke’s fingers press down on your tongue. While you are lapping at his fingers, he finally lets go of your wrists, letting your arms fall to your sides.
You hear Levi sighing close by. “Seems like you are all show and no action. Couldn’t have expected more from a circus monkey.”
Zeke’s eyes stay on yours, daring you to look away even as they talk. “It’s called foreplay.” He responds casually.
Seemingly satisfied with your suckling at his fingers, he slowly pulls them out of your mouth. Taking in your swollen lips, he can’t hold back the urge to make you look even more pathetic. He wipes his fingers off on your cheek, leaving your own spit on it. Is it embarrassing? Most definitely, but in a different way than normally. Something about their rough treatment makes your abdomen flutter in excitement.
Zeke suddenly pushes you towards Levi by your shoulders. “Entertain him while I get these tight fucking pants off.” Zeke grumbles and you can instantly hear him start fumbling with his belt.
Your nerves chitter as you look at Levi. His watchful gaze always makes you scared to make a wrong move. You want to be good to him, for such a long time already that the need to is practically overflowing.
Tired of your staring, Levi makes the first move, pulling your hand forward and against his crotch. Your eyes dart from the bulge you are cupping in your hand to his face. “I’ve waited long enough, take off my pants.” The slight tremor in his voice as he speaks and the pink color on his cheeks has your heart beating faster.
He lets go of your hand, allowing you to move it. You slide your flat palm along the imprint of his cock, making him part his lips in a pant. Making quick work of the button on his pants, you start sliding down the elastic of it, taking his underwear off with it. When his cock is exposed, he pushes your hands away, quickly taking his underwear and pants off completely. He glares at you as he takes off his shirt as well, hair getting tossed on the way. “Strip.” He tells you. The way he throws his clothes to the side is yet another surprise in this odd night.
You let your skirt fall to the floor first, then your wet panties, and lastly your bra. Shivers run up your body from both the cold and the nerves that course through your body as you are naked in front of Levi for the first time. He watches you for a moment, his length twitching excitedly against his stomach. You are watching him as well, but you aren’t sure where to look first. His chest is lean yet muscled, dipping down his in a delicious V just above his crotch. Not following where the V is going would be a shame, and so you eagerly eye his cock. It’s long, curved to the side just slightly with a girth that already ensures you that he will fill you up well.
Wetting your lips, you step towards him, closing the distance between the two of you back up. Reaching out, you wrap your hand around his length. It feels hot and heavy in your hand as you give it a testing pump. You hear Levi’s breath hitch when you look at him through your lashes, eyes lidded. As your hand pumps his cock slowly, he can’t help but tense at the memory of all the nights he spend imagining his hand was yours. Watching you jerk him off, your pretty face so close to his, makes him want to hold you, but also ruin you until you cry.
“Y/n.” He starts and you cock your head to the side slightly, showing that you are listening even though your eyes are trained on his cock again. “Turn around.”
Your eyes snap back to his, searching for what exactly he wants but finding only more questions at the intense lust he’s showing. Precum leaks from the head of Levi’s cock as you obediently turn around, still within reach just like he wanted. You swallow heavily as you are now faced with a fully naked Zeke, his hand eagerly pumping his cock. He gives you a lopsided grin as his thumb rubs over the head of his cock, making it twitch in response.
Levi’s fingers press down softly between your shoulder blades, instructing you to bend forward just slightly. It’s not necessary for what he’s planning, but after Zeke made it a point to show off, he intends to pay him back. You yelp when Levi kicks your legs open and one of his hands grabs onto your hair, roughly pulling at it. He thrusts his cock between your thighs, causing them to be even slicker by combining your already present wetness on them with his pre. Tiny mewls leave your lips as he slides his cock back and forth, the top dragging against your soaked heat. Your plush thighs feel amazing already, but just sliding against them is not what he intended. He grabs onto his cock with his free hand and pushes the tip between your folds. Your surprised look makes Zeke chuckle, cock still in his hand. Is Levi going to put it in? The question rushes through your head and you feel the tip of his cock catch onto your entrance.
“Not yet.” He groans, unsure whether he’s telling you or himself.
The head of his cock slips away from your entrance, his length now snuggly between your folds. Your wet cunt feels better than he could’ve imagined as it drags past his cock, everything about it beckoning him to take you already. Hand on your hair tightening painfully, he starts thrusting slightly as you squeeze your thighs to keep him near. Your heavy pants are interrupted by a moan every time his tip slips against your clit, sending pleasure through your body.
“Look at those pretty lips.” Zeke says, coming closer to your bend-over form.
His cock is glistening with his precum, the head of it flushed red. As he’s closer to you you can really take it in, and the size is startling. Gods, you already have Levi’s sliding against your cunt and now there’s another right in front of your face, this is insane.
Zeke observes the bliss that comes over your face with every thrust of Levi’s. “Your shortness comes in handy for once, like this she’s at the perfect height to suck my cock.” Zeke tells Levi, tapping his cock on your parted lips.
Levi shoots him a nasty look. How he can be so cocky is truly beyond Levi. It doesn’t matter though, it’s clear that you like him better, your body speaks volumes on that. His thoughts making him slide forward faster, his hips connecting with your ass in a loud slap. As you open your mouth to moan at Levi’s actions, Zeke makes little time of thrusting his cock into it. You cough and sputter as you choke on his length, being given no time before he greedily slides himself down your throat.
Tears form in your eyes as Zeke fucks your mouth roughly, your nose bumping against his trimmed pubes over and over again. Levi curses behind you, jealously stirring in his chest. He disgusts himself with how the sight of Zeke defiling you both angers and arouses him. You scream around Zeke’s cock when Levi harshly brings his hand down on your ass. He hits your soft flesh repeatedly, his cock twitching against your heat at every hit.
Zeke coos at you as your tear-filled eyes overspill, the stimulation from both sides becoming too much. His hand strokes over your cheek comfortingly, though he refuses to slow down his thrusts into your squeezing throat. You feel your ass sting from the continuous slaps Levi is landing on your ass, the pain mixing with the pleasure.
Levi stares down at the darkened skin of your ass, his handprints littered all over it. A smile twists onto his face, proud of his work and the way your cunt is drooling over his length in return. Meanwhile, you are still choking down Zeke’s length, the strangled sounds from your throat making it clear that you are struggling. Your sounds draw Levi’s gaze back to where Zeke is fucking your face just in time. Levi recognizes the look on Zeke’s face instantly, head lightly thrown back and eyes closed. Without a second thought, Levi uses the hand in your hair to pull you off of the other man’s cock. You gasp and sputter for air, just as surprised as Zeke as he curses. “What the fuck?!”
“I’m not letting you cum in her mouth, I’m still planning on coming near it.” Levi explains casually as he slides his cock out from between your thighs.
You are still hacking and coughing as the two men exchange dead glares. Will you survive this? You truly wonder as you regain your breath. It’s like being pulled apart between two forces, but you would be lying if you said you weren’t enjoying every second of it.
“Shit.” Zeke runs a hand down his face, stroking it over his beard. “We can’t take her like this.”
You look up suddenly at his words. Hold on a second, he can’t be tapping out now?!
Zeke gestures towards a sturdy crate off to the side. “Sit on that, Levi.”
Levi grimaces and you look between the two men, just relieved you aren’t being left like this.
Zeke sighs and waves towards the crate again. “Do it or I’ll shove my cock back down her throat, and this time I won’t stop till I’m done.”
You look at Levi, who despite looking slightly disgruntled, agrees and goes to sit on the crate. Zeke swiftly picks you up after, the muscles of his chest presses temptingly against your back. He only holds you for a second before he sits you down on Levi’s lap, having you straddle him.
You place your hands on Levi’s shoulders, a shy smile on your face. He can’t help but chuckle slightly at that, you are still unsure even as his cock is pressing against your cunt. Zeke comes to stand behind you, hands grabbing onto your sore ass. He makes you push it towards him before he spreads your cheeks, whistling at the sight of your dripping hole.
“Don’t know how you resisted all this time.” He comments towards Levi.
Levi’s eyes don’t leave yours, too enthralled by finally having you on him to have Zeke ruin the moment. “Hurry up already, shit beard.”
Zeke lets one of your cheeks go to grab onto his cock. “As you wish.”
Surprising both you and Levi, Zeke aligns himself and pushes into your cunt in one swift thrust. You cry out loudly, nails digging crescent shapes into Levi’s shoulders. Levi is caught off guard for a second as he watches your blissed-out face, and Zeke takes the opportunity to pull out and thrust in with force once again.
“Let’s see if you get the same sound out of her.” Zeke taunts, smacking your sore ass once before pulling out of you. It’s obvious to even your foggy self that he did it just to rile up Levi.
You are panting again, your body shaken by Zeke’s surprise. The walls of your cunt sting from the sudden stretch, but at the same time squeeze eagerly around nothing, waiting for more.
Levi cups your chin in his hand as the other goes to your hip. You watch his dull blue eyes shimmer as he shifts under you till his cock is poking at your dripping entrance. For a second, you wonder how different this would’ve been if he had accepted you sooner.
With a hard push to your hip, he thrusts you onto his length, forcing your spasming walls to accommodate him in one go. To Zeke’s disdain, you do cry out for the other man. Not just the sound either, you cry out his name excitedly.
Levi pulls you in by your chin for a quick, sloppy kiss. It feels so hot inside you, so tight, he’s losing his sense and that’s exactly why he was afraid to do this with you. After this, he won’t want to let you go, while the world may force him to do so. He can’t think about that now though, not while your lips are on his. In this moment you are here, and he will enjoy you fully.
With one of Zeke’s hands still firmly on your cheek, he pulls it to the side, allowing a clearer view of how your hole is stretched and stuffed around Levi’s cock. He feels his face flushing. Though he would’ve liked to enjoy your cunt for himself, this sharing has turned out pretty entertaining so far.
You gasp against Levi’s lips when Zeke presses the tip of his cock against your other entrance. Breaking the kiss, Levi keeps his hand on your chin, thumb rubbing over your bottom lip soothingly, careful to avoid the cut he made. “Take a deep breath.”
Your breath comes out in trembles as Zeke pushes past your tight entrance, his cock coated in your slick. You can feel every inch of him slowly sliding into your ass, causing you to whimper as you soon feel overwhelmingly full. The wall separating their cocks twitches as both their lengths slide against it.
You took that so well.” Zeke says as his hand finds grip on your free hip. He brushes your hair away from your ear, leaning in closer till his warm breath washes over it. “Makes me wonder how many men you let fuck your little ass.”
You bite back a moan when Zeke bites the top of your ear softly and, unbeknownst to you, connects eyes with Levi. “What do you think, Levi? You are her supervisor after all.”
Levi’s jaw clenches and he drops his hand slightly from your chin. “Seems like I missed a lot.”
You swallow nervously at the angry look in his eyes, your holes involuntarily clenching around their cocks. Quick like always, Levi moves his hand to your neck in the blink of an eye. You quiver between their bodies as he squeezing down on the sides of your neck.
“Who else did you do it with?” He questions, his gaze not allowing you to avert yours.
You gasp as Zeke starts moving, dragging his cock out just a little before thrusting back in. He’s more than eager to add onto your punishment, your body still struggling against the intrusion.
Levi shoots a glare over your shoulder, but Zeke shrugs it off. “You feel how she’s squeezing down. Seems like your cadet likes it rough.”
You didn’t think your embarrassment could return in this situation, but it does. Your perverseness was already exposed, but now the full extent of it is coming out as they question it.
“Tell me who fucked you!” Levi snarls, his hand squeezing harder around your throat. The fact that it happened right under his nose makes his jealousy spark into a wildfire.
His cock twitches inside you at the way your mouth quirks up into a smile. You are enjoying this, aren’t you?
Switching tactics, he leans in closer, ghosting his lips over yours and sliding his cock halfway out of your heat. You fall right for the bait as you try to move in to kiss him, whining when he pulls away just before you reach his lips. “Tell me who.”
Levi can feel your throat moving under his hand as you start and stop speaking multiple times. Your eyes and mouth go wide when Zeke thrusts into you hard, making your ass sting all over again from the impact.
“Tell him.”
You nod your head up and down desperately. “Alright!” You yelp out as Zeke continues his sharp thrusts.
“Jean! Jean! Just a few times.” You say quickly, your cheeks burning up from shame.
Levi stays quiet for a moment, and you would have been scared if his cock wasn’t buried inside of you. He pulls you closer by your throat, examining your face. “Did he fill you like this?”
You want to answer, but your mouth is left hanging agape as Levi suddenly slams his full length up into you. Choked sounds leave your lips as he forces your hips to stay up as he joins Zeke in a harsh pace.
Zeke’s hands come around your front, fondling your breasts and soon squeezing your nipples with his fingers. “You sure have yourself a good slut here.”
All you can do is moan and cry out a jumble of their names as they fuck into your tight holes. Gods, have you ever felt this good before?
“I’m jealous.” Zeke grunts out, rolling your nipples between his fingers before giving your breasts a forceful squeeze.
Levi grunts as he watches Zeke squeeze your breasts together, his eyes glued to the cleavage it created. The sight makes him want to stick his cock between them, but that will have to wait for another time.
“Levi! Zeke! Ah!-” You mewl, your slick dripping down Levi’s cock as you bathe in the pleasure of being pinned between them.
Zeke and Levi look at each other, and though they couldn’t be more different, the two men understand each other’s gazes perfectly at this moment. Stilling inside of you, Levi makes your hand clamber desperately down his shoulders and chest.
“Levi, please!” You whine, attempting to move your hips but being hindered by Zeke’s restless thrusts, his hands having left your breasts to hold your waist instead.
Just as Zeke’s cock slides out of your tight hole till the tip, Levi thrusts up into you, filling you completely. Your eyes roll back from the pleasure as they switched up the pace, one now pounding into you while the other pulls away.
You barely even realized that Levi’s hand was still on your neck until he removes it, making you sigh under the relief of the pressure. “I waited so long, assuming you would break under my touch. But look at you now.” He grunts out.
Zeke chuckles as he bends forward to run his tongue over the length of your neck, causing you to shiver. “That’s on you, Levi. I saw it right away.”
You can feel his voice vibrate against your skin, lips so close you can feel them slightly ghost past when he enunciates. “Though I have to admit, the extend of it surprised even me.”
Your hands run from Levi’s pecks to his firm abs while Zeke’s broad chest presses against your back. The slaps of their bodies hitting yours resonating beautifully throughout the room. How did you get so lucky to be sandwiched between these men?
You bite your sore bottom lip as you feel the coil in your abdomen start to tighten. They too can tell you are getting close, your hips clumsily moving in search of more friction.
One of Levi’s hands moves between your bodies, slender fingers quickly seeking out your swollen clit. Screams get caught in your sore throat as he rubs agonizingly slow circles over your clit, his fingertips never faltering in the precise movements.
“Shit.” Zeke curses out behind you, thrusts growing sloppy as he feels your body starting to quiver from your incoming orgasm.
Levi’s free hand grabs your face, squeezing your cheeks together, his lips quirked up in a lopsided smirk. “You hear that? Shit beard over there is about to cum.”
Your chest heaves heavily with your moans as Levi’s fingers work your clit faster, causing your holes to clench around their dick tightly.
“Bet you’d like that huh? Have him fill your ass with his cum?” Levi asks mockingly, squeezing your cheeks tighter.
His cock can’t help but twitch inside of you at the sight of your pathetically blissed-out face.
“Mmhm! Yes!” Is all you can cry out, so close to your release.
Levi releases your face, his eyes seemingly growing more darkened with lust by the second. Without warning, he moves his hand away from your clit slightly only to bring it back down with a slap. You squeeze your eyes shut as you cum from the sudden sharp pleasure, your legs shaking at either side of his.
You barely register Zeke’s wild pumping into you or the way Levi groans out your name as your orgasm rips through your body. The stimulation of their touches only prolong your bliss, mewls, and whimpers leaving your mouth like a chant.
With a hard slap to your ass, Zeke brings your focus back on him. You are still cumming as he squeezes the soft flesh in his hand, thrusting into you one last time. He breaths out your name as he empties himself inside of you and the warm sensation of his release spreading through you feels sinfully good.
Zeke leaves his cock buried to the hilt inside of your ass till the last twitch, your tight hole objecting when he starts pulling out. You feel his cum leaking out and spreading over your cheeks when he has pulled out of you completely. His hands grip your ass tightly as he spreads it, groaning at the sight of your leaking hole. At every thrust of Levi’s, your tight entrance twitches and forces more of Zeke’s cum to leak out.
Levi’s fingers have returned to rubbing quick circles over your swollen clit while he fucks you, and the intense sensation after you have barely finished cumming has your eyes rolling back as you cry out his name in encouragement. “Ah-! Don’t stop,” your unfocused gaze finding his “More.”
“You want ‘more’?” Zeke repeats, mockingly mimicking your slurred tone.
He grips his still-hard cock in his hand, pumping it in his fist. “Do you want more of him, or of me?”
You can barely muster an answer as Levi bounces you on his cock, your body shaking with the need to orgasm again. “B-Both!” You choke out.
“Guess I have no choice.” Zeke chuckles as he positions the tip of his cock at your twitching hole. Even though this is the second time, you still pleasantly surprise him with the way you eagerly suck him in.
Levi can feel the way your cunt spasms around him when Zeke thrusts his length into you, your mouth once again opening in a wide O. He’s the one who made you cum, isn’t he? So why are you still so damn focused on that shit face?!
He calls your name, but your foggy mind doesn’t register it. You are too close again, and after cumming so hard already twice, you feel like this time you won’t be able to stop.
Slap
The side of your face stings slightly and Levi gives you a dark grin as your gaze connects with his, your eyes cleared from their earlier fog. “Don’t go drifting off on me now, brat.”
You nod your head, your arms wrapping around his neck. You are back to focus, but you hope he doesn’t think that will prevent you from cumming. The way that they fill you is just too good.
“You can’t blame her. Her slutty body is betraying her.” Zeke says as his mouth moves to your neck once again. You don’t think anything of it as his hot tongue glides over your skin, so used to their constant touches by now.
Levi’s fingers leave your clit, once again followed by a sharp slap. This time he doesn’t do it just once though, he repeats the slap three times before going back to rubbing the abused nub. The way your sounds and labored breaths hitch in your throat every time have him closing in on his end faster than he wants.
Zeke’s gentle lapping and sucking at your neck turns animalistic as he suddenly bites down at the juncture of your neck and shoulder and you yelp as his teeth dig slightly into the sensitive skin. It only lasts for a few seconds before he sucks a giant hickey on top of the bite mark, placing a gentle kiss on the bruise afterward.
Shit, shit. Trembles rattle your body as you drench Levi’s cock with your slick, cumming from the added pleasure of Zeke’s bite. You let your forehead fall against Levi’s shoulder, mumbling slurred words and moans into his skin, your tiny muscle spasms alerting both men of your orgasm.
Levi pushes Zeke’s head away from your neck. “What do you think you’re-” He stops his sentence, taking the other man in with narrowed eyes.
Zeke slows his thrusting, raising his shoulders in innocence. He’s about to say something, but Levi grabs Zeke’s attention by taking your face in his hand.
Their conversation has completely gone over your head, still tingling all over as the tip of Levi’s cock hits the sensitive spot on your wall repeatedly, dragging out your orgasm. The way they slowed down has you whine in displeasure as well as curl your toes at how it increases the intensity of each dragged-out thrust. The hand on your chin barely catches your attention, only truly noticing it when Levi’s voice pierces your thoughts.
“Open up and stick out your tongue.”
You do as he commands, your mind not even questioning it for a second. Levi chuckles at your display of obedience, you always were good at following orders. Zeke can make marks all he wants, but Levi knows who owns you on the inside.
Keeping a good grip on your chin whilst continuing to fuck into you, Levi observes your open mouth for a second before spitting in it. You mewl as he keeps your mouth open, watching his spit run down your tongue.
Zeke grabs you by your hair, forcing your face out of Levi’s grip and forcing it to the side. He groans at the mess Levi just made, your eyes growing watery as you moan with your mouth wide open. Zeke let’s go off your hair after noticing Levi’s glare. Shit, he could say so many things, but he’s close again, and he’d rather making a mess of your soft ass than argue with Levi.
“Swallow.” Levi orders when your face is turned back to him.
You close your mouth slowly, eyes staying on his as you swallow. A choked sound comes from his throat as he snaps his hips up into you, your hands flying up to grip the back of his hair.
“Fuck!” He curses. “Be a good girl and cum again, when you do I’ll fill you up.” He says, wanting to drag another handful of screams from your throat before he finally cums.
You nod your head, tears forming in your eyes from the intensity as both men desperately rut into you. Your holes spasm around them, your tired body ready to fulfill Levi’s wish any second.
Zeke’s forehead rests against the back of your head, his glasses fogging up from his panting. Every tremble of your perfect body pushes him closer to the edge.
“Z-Zeke.” He thinks he imagined it for a moment, but then your sweet voice calls out for him again. “Zeke!” One of your arms has left Levi so you can place your hand on the back of Zeke’s head.
You are pulling at both men’s hair now as your hips sway in a desperate attempt to ride their cocks.
“Levi!” You call out as well, the man busy clenching his jaw in an effort not to let too many moans out.
“Please! Please!” You beg, your fingers trembling as they grab at their locks. You scream out in pleasure, your orgasm interrupting your pleading. “I-” It’s so hard to talk, your throat feeling squeezes without any hand being near it. “I can’t take anymore! Please, cum!” You cry out, continuously interrupted by wild pants.
Both are happy to oblige, having had their fun in torturing you and now eager to give you your award. Zeke pulls out of your ass in one quick slide, pumping his slick cock in his fist. He’s the first to cum as he empties himself all over your ass and back, his cock jerking in his hand at the sight of your skin getting more and more soiled by him.
Levi presses a hard kiss to your lips before finally giving in to his release, making sure your beautiful eyes are on his as he lets go. You can feel every hot shot of his cum inside of you, your cunt clenching around him tightly. Zeke is just admiring his handy work from behind you as Levi fills you up for what must almost be a minute. Your hand in Levi’s hair twirls his soft locks between your fingers, your heart squeezing as your exhausted mind ponders he pend up he must have been himself.
You smile weakly as Levi kisses you again after he’s finished cumming. It feels appreciative, and he really does feel that way as he can’t remember the last time he felt so good.
Zeke takes in the way he painted your skin with his cum one more time before turning around to get his clothes, leaving you nestled on Levi’s lap. You let your head drop to Levi’s shoulder, not caring that his cock is still inside you as exhaustion nips at your body.
Levi strokes your hair gently, but his watchful gaze is glued to Zeke. It’s a good thing that Zeke is putting on his clothes because it’s clear from the look in the other man’s eyes that his presence is no longer welcome. Always the defying type, Zeke gives the side of your hip a quick tap before exiting the room.
“See you soon, y/n.”
After the door has shut after the blonde man, Levi immediately jumps to action. He moves you off of his cock, his cum streaming out onto your thighs and his lap.
“Shit.” He mumbles at the mess.
He kisses your forehead softly, making your lidded eyes look up at him. “You did well, but do this again and I will leave you like this for the other scouts to find.” He tells you strictly, hands coming up under your arms to lift you up.
You can only nod weakly, not able to find your voice anymore. Perhaps he’s a little mad at you, but you don’t regret it at all. Your lips twitch into a tired smile as you think, ‘yeah, I really did do well.’.

another character based question - how do you feel about mikasa? a lot of fans dont like her, im curious about how you feel! - armin anon
Hellooooo Armin Anon. OMG it’s been forever since I had the time to sit down and do a proper meta, and I apologize.
First off, I finished the manga!!! (So, spoilers ahead for anyone else reading this.) I had to lie down after reading 139. It’s a tremendous story and I’m still taking it all in. The set pieces and personal/emotional stakes of everything that happens is just astounding. If it’s one thing Isayama does good, it’s the gut-wrenching personal anguish that underlies the action. I’m absolutely floored. My favorite bit was probably the timey-wimey stuff in Paths and Eren. That blew my freaking mind. But onto Mikasa!!
A Cruel Yet Beautiful World
I remember way back when I started the anime that I started liking Mikasa first out of the group. I liked how sullenly silent and no-nonsense she was, and I liked her loyalty to Eren. Her emotion, especially when Eren died in Trost, was palpable and terrifyingly beautiful. Her grief was incredibly realistic––rushing off with a death wish that even she couldn’t succumb to in the end, because of the drive to fight that she got from Eren. In a world like SNK, her relentlessness breaking through her grief was incredibly moving. And her philosophy is basically the driving theme of SNK: “This is a cruel world, and yet so beautiful.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the same moral message she gives Eren when he can’t find the strength in him to fight Annie––and gives him that warm, understanding, inscrutable smile that allows him to finally accept his own monsters, fight Annie, and save her and Armin. (One of my favorite panels of her from the manga, actually.) Mikasa is basically the first character we meet who embodies this contradictory morality, which grows to engulf SNK and other characters as well (Levi, Reiner, and Armin especially come to mind). Which could be why I was drawn to her at the start, since the complex moral outlook of SNK was the primary reason I fell hard for this story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(And gosh, it’s tragic to realize that it’s teaching moments like the scene above that made Eren into the person who could influence his own child self to murder, the person who could wipe out so much of humanity, the person who could take Ymir’s challenge to free her by destroying the love of the person who cared the most about him. I’m still processing yo.)
Acker-parallels
I started really analyzing Mikasa when I had to defend her from a friend of mine who accused her of resenting Levi (for beating up Eren) and that’s why she attacked him so violently in the RTS serumbowl. Because of my research into rebutting that, a lot of my affection for Mikasa now comes in seeing the little ways in which she cares and trusts other people, including Armin, Levi, Gabi, and Jean. And her quiet sensibility that goes beyond her love and protectiveness of Eren.
With Levi in particular, I find a lot I like about her. Because you can definitely see her annoyance at him, but she also trusts him more than anyone else in the Corps outside of Armin. After Levi’s violent encounter with Historia, she was the only one who implicitly trusted Levi’s judgement, backing up Armin’s more reasoned logic. She sees beyond her own emotions and even moral feelings and realizes the world is cruel enough that sometimes people have to do dark things to help others and survive.
Tumblr media
This is very much the same statement Levi made to the 104th when he had asked them to follow Erwin’s orders when the commander’s plans were questionable on the surface: “Do you trust him? Those dumb enough to say yes… come with me.” These two understand each other on a moral level, and they ask for their comrades’ loyalty without demanding it, because they each know that everyone’s conscience is their own.
Tumblr media
There’s a clear parallel between Mikasa and Levi, not only because of their Ackerman heritage and sensibilities (loyal to a fault to their chosen person, impossibly strong, quiet and grim), but their frustration when they cannot protect the people they are responsible for. They both know they are the strongest around, and if they cannot fulfill on that power, a lot of people will die.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are many moments in which Mikasa puts aside her personal feelings to do her soldierly duty, from leaving Eren to help with the evacuation of Trost to leaving Eren and Armin to fight the Colossal Titan alone in Shigonshina.
And then there’s the fact that Levi’s the one who could break past Mikasa’s headspace and distraction so that she can do the right thing. He understands her strong emotion, he respects it, but he also knows when that has to be put aside for the greater good. But he doesn’t put her down for having those emotions, either.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strength from Eren, Humanity from Armin
Mikasa’s love and loyalty to Eren challenges her tremendously after the timeskip and her sorrow at Eren’s change is what really stands out to me about her character in the Marley arc. The absolute grief in her eyes when she tells Eren what he’s done is devastating, and it shows just how much goodness and compassion she does have.
Tumblr media
And yet she longs to understand Eren, to trust him, to believe there can be something redeeming, and not merely jaded and tired, in what he taught her so many years ago––to fight, to win, to live.
Tumblr media
There’s such a difference between these same words said here by Mikasa, so many years later, after so much heartbreak, to the anger and flame that were in them when she first heard them, back when she realized that this was the way of the world. That death and killing happens in the natural world everyday and that’s how you survive. That the world is both cruel and beautiful.
Tumblr media
And yet as the years wore on, as Mikasa grew closer to others, found purpose in protecting others, sought a life with Eren… as she wandered further into the forest of life and society and relationships, she lost some of that simple injunction... to live is to fight, to fight is to win. She, like so many of the 104th and the others on this journey, found that it’s not enough to just fight and live and be satisfied. We really want it all to mean something, to have our actions be redemptive. To allow ourselves to believe that we do what we’re doing because we’re not just saving ourselves, but saving others, “saving the world” like Yelena points out (in the forest therapy session pfff). And it’s that drive for something bigger in our actions that grieves her so much with Eren, because as she wants her own actions to be fundamentally good and selfless, she wants his actions to be moral as well.
So while Eren is the person that frustrates Mikasa and motivates her to become stronger and braver than she ever was, Armin is the person who humanizes Mikasa and allows her the space to be gentle and vulnerable. She comforts Armin, confides in him, puts her faith in him, and puts her life in his hands.
Tumblr media
She trusts Armin with Eren, and she values Armin’s intellect and compassion, qualities she doesn’t have in nearly as much quantities as he does: “There are only so many lives I can value. And… I decided who those people were six years ago. So... you shouldn’t try to ask for my pity. Because right now, I don’t have time to spare or room in my heart.”
Tumblr media
This bit from her confrontation with Ymir and Historia was a defining moment for me with Mikasa. It’s honest and realistic in a way that few of us care to admit about ourselves, and it’s just super chilling and badass coming from her, too. It also shows how much she fights for Armin and Eren both. They are the two people she loves the most in the world, and she never gave up on saving either of them––from death or from themselves.
I’m looking back on Trost now and finding so much irony with the ending to SNK. In Trost, she was the one to give up on Eren, telling Armin that it was hopeless to try to extract Eren’s personality from his Titan form. And yet, like in the end, it’s always been between Armin and Mikasa to try to salvage Eren’s humanity. In Trost, Armin tells Mikasa to leave––to go do what she’s good at (saving lives)––and to entrust Eren to him.
Tumblr media
It’s a huge expression of both Mikasa’s trust in Armin, and her belief in Armin’s abilities and friendship for Eren. And in the end, it’s the two of them again debating on if there’s any humanity left in Eren. The bond they share is intimate and deep. With all the military doubting Eren and scheming to take away his Titan (with even Jean and Connie unavailable to them emotionally), it’s only Armin and Mikasa against the world––the only two people who can truly consider Eren’s actions and hold off on judging him. And you can feel their love for him even as they doubt him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And like back then, it has always been Armin who understands Eren most, the one who recognizes his own evil and Eren’s and finds a redemption in having others stop you, because you cannot stop yourself.
And that’s the thing I really take away from SNK and from Mikasa’s journey, that we all have devils inside us, and yet there is still beauty to be found, within us and in the world––from the natural wonders that Armin dreams of, to the comfort of purpose and companionship that Mikasa has in Eren. Love and wonder is what redeems us of our devils. And yet love itself is complicated, and can turn ugly in its obsession. That giving up that love is what makes the love selfless and beautiful, what absolves us of the selfishness within us. That’s what Mikasa learned. And in the end, she was able to release that love for the good of the world.
Tumblr media
So I guess to sum up, I really love Mikasa. I can see why her dogged loyalty to Eren might annoy some fans, but I think there’s a lot more to her than simply that, and in fact, her journey and growth is heart-rending and one of the most symbolic arcs of SNK and fundamental to its entire theme. She’s a badass with a lot of emotion and depth behind her cold mask.

On the 20th day of Levi’s engagement to you, he found himself tense, frowning, and sitting across a less than pleased Erwin, right in the commander’s office.
Erwin sat at his desk, deep discontent written all over his face, with his arms folded tightly across his broad chest.
Levi knew the scolding was coming and cursed himself in his head for being so careless. He hadn’t really meant too much by it. Mike had just been asking him how things were going as they walked down the hall together and the words had just tumbled out. Levi didn’t like talking about his personal life in general, mostly because he had hardly had one prior to getting engaged, but now he was extra wary.
“Not much to tell. Just thankful she agreed not to have an actual wedding and to prolong it as long as possible.”
That was all he’d said and he’d said it with a tone of finality that Mike understood well. It was the tone that warned not to push it any farther.
It was just Levi’s luck that Erwin had rounded the corner as the words left him. The commander had bristled as he processed what Levi had said and then blurted out that he needed to see the shorter man immediately, in his office.
Levi had never seen Mike hurry off so quickly before.
And now here he was, tense and waiting for Erwin to lash out at him.
The words came moments later, but Levi didn’t get yelled at, which made him feel worse. Erwin was quiet, stern, and very open with his disappointment.
“Is it true? You really asked that of her?”
“Yes,” Levi sighed, running a hand over his tired face. “I did.”
“You didn’t even consult me about it. Levi, I hope you know I’m trying to grant you as much freedom as I can in this situation, but this was out of line. I’m sorry, but you don’t have that kind of say.”
Erwin’s words made Levi wince a little, but he tried to keep a stoic face. He could see that the commander was waiting for him to say something, but Levi didn’t quite know what to say.
He thought of you for a moment, and thought about how confused he’d been lately, and then looked at Erwin with a hint of a frown.
“You’ve hardly given us any freedom,” he blurted out, and then cursed himself yet again. He’d used the word “us” instead of “me” and he knew that Erwin would catch wind of that.
He did, and he even seemed to soften up a bit, raising a brow curiously.
And then Erwin used you as ammunition.
“You’ve stripped away any semblance of choice left for her by making her agree to your terms. She has even less freedom than you. Is that what you wanted?” Erwin asked, but the question was more rhetorical than anything.
Levi’s frown grew deeper. His mind went back to you, how broken you’d looked when he’d said he didn’t want a wedding day, and how he wanted to wait as long as possible to actually be married. And then his mind took him to that day you were feeling unwell, and how that same broken expression appeared when he’d gotten upset with you.
His chest grew heavy when he realized he had helped in breaking you.
And even worse, he hadn’t gone back to visit you after that day, when you had fainted. It had spurred too many mixed emotions in him and he had wanted the space to clear his head. And you had confirmed you were still unwell in your most recent letter to him from yesterday.
But maybe you were lying. Maybe Levi had broken you so much that you wanted to start keeping your distance from him.
That’s what he wanted, right?
Is that what you wanted?
Erwin’s unanswered question echoed in his mind.
If that was what he’d wanted, why did he feel this way, so horrible, after being called out by Erwin?
“I just don’t know what to do,” Levi finally said, unable to meet Erwin’s gaze.
Erwin hummed and sat back in his chair, arms now unfolded as he looked at Levi. The conversation had gone way beyond Levi’s little mistake. As much as he wanted to help his friend, there was a reason Erwin had been wandering the halls. He had, in fact, been searching for Levi. And he had, in fact, been wanting to discuss the topic of you. It had been mere coincidence that Erwin had caught Levi’s confession.
“Talk to her,” Erwin said, eyes on Levi, who was still looking anywhere but at him. “And I’d suggest going today. There was a reason I’ve been looking for you.”
At that, Levi flickered his eyes to Erwin, a hint of curiosity in them. And, dare Erwin say, even a little bit of worry hid behind the silver.
“Well, spit it out,” Levi said, already making to stand up. “What happened? Is something wrong?”
Erwin also stood up, slowly and deliberately, and didn’t know how to answer that.
“There’s been some...civil unrest recently. Some of the working class citizens have been getting riled up because of some recent unfortunate events with the upper class,” Erwin explained, watching carefully for Levi’s reaction. “Some of my intel has told me there’s talk of a few riots being planned.”
“What kind of ‘unfortunate events’ are you talking about?” Levi pressed, arms at his side with hands clenched into fists. This didn’t sound good.
“Seems like your fiancee’s father has been in some bad business deals that affected a lot of his workforce. And he’s got quite the workforce, if you remember,” Erwin murmured, looking a little thoughtful as he tried to gage Levi’s reaction. “I was looking for you to tell you that I’d like for you to go and check on things. I’m not sure how extreme the situation is.”
Levi was already halfway out of the office and didn’t bother to answer. He was, without a doubt, upset.
Upset that Erwin didn’t let him know about this immediately.
Upset that it would take a while to get to you.
And, curiously, he was upset that he was upset. What the hell was going on with him?
-
In your parlor room, you were curled up on the sofa and reading your favorite book. It took all your willpower to try not to think about how, just a few days ago, Levi had touched those very same pages.
He’d kept his distance since then, though you had certainly had some part in that by sending him a note to say you were still sick. It wasn’t true at all and you’d felt almost back to normal the next day, but you couldn’t really face Levi yet. Despite forgiving him and allowing yourself to have a little bit of hope that things would turn out okay for the two of you, it was obvious that Levi was still on the fence with you, and had a very specific opinion about who you were despite not getting to know you.
You were using this time away from him to think of ways to show him that you weren’t that way at all, and that his impression of you was, truthfully, completely off the mark.
As the grandfather clock sounded off at noon, it brought you back to reality. You set your book down, not that you’d actually been reading much of it, and sighed when your stomach grumbled. Definitely lunchtime.
You stood up and stretched, about to walk to the kitchen and bother Chef Erlo when you realized something seemed...off.
The clock struck noon for a final time and you realized that that was the only sound you could really hear from all over the house. Silence engulfed you when the grandfather clock stopped, and you peered out into the hallway, baffled when you saw absolutely nobody in sight.
Feeling like you couldn’t break the silence, you stayed quiet as a mouse as you made your way to the kitchen, hoping to hear the usual bustle of noise there for lunch. Maybe that’s where everyone was. It was lunchtime, after all. Had you forgotten it was somebody’s birthday? Sometimes you’d sneak the staff into the servant’s quarters for a bit of a break and have a little birthday celebration during lunch, but you were sure nobody’s big day was today.
But you didn’t make it to the kitchen. As you got closer to the foyer, you could hear the commotion outside, interrupting the eerie silence in your home. Instead of going to check on things, curiosity got the best of you and you ended up peering out the window to see what was going on. A little gasp left your lips when you saw what was outside.
Hoards of people were at the gates of your home, screaming and shouting profanities as they tried to make their way inside. Your heart sped up at the sight, absolutely terrified at the pure hatred they all wore on their faces. You couldn’t really make out what they were all saying, but you heard the profanities, and you heard your father’s name enough times to know that this was personal.
The guards situated outside at the gate were pushing back as much as they could, and you even see that some of the Garrison soldiers had come to help out, but the crowd seemed to be growing bigger and bigger by the second. At any moment, it would bubble over and spill past the gates of your home.
Right to you.
Once again, after a lifetime of avoiding your father and his business to try and escape it, you were being dragged right into the middle of it instead.
You had to run. The anger outside was something that was almost tangible; you could feel it weighing heavily in the air even from where you stood inside your home. No doubt that someone would try to hurt you just in the belief that it would hurt your father to know they’d gotten to you.
For a brief moment, Levi flashed through your mind, and you sincerely regretted lying to him about still feeling unwell when his face popped to the front of your head. Maybe he would have helped you. Maybe not. The anger you could feel from the crowd outside was unfortunately similar to the anger Levi had bestowed upon you just a few days ago.
As you backed away from the window, you thought of all the different places you could go to hide. So lost in your thoughts, you didn’t register the footsteps sneaking up behind you and gasped when a hand clamped against your mouth to keep you quiet.
Before you could try and scream, a familiar voice whispered in your ear, “Shh, it’s only me. Let’s go.”
You whirled around, tears of relief springing to your eyes as you hugged Greta tightly.
“Greta,” you breathed out shakily, pulling away to look at her with wide eyes. “What’s going on?”
“Let’s not talk here, come on,” she whispered, tugging you towards the servant’s quarters, where you knew the wine cellar was situated. As soon as the door was closed and locked behind the two of you, Greta practically dragged you down the stairs. It was cooler down there and you shivered involuntarily.
There was dim candlelight at the end of the steps that lit up a narrow hallway, one that led towards a heavy wooden door. Chef Erlo was there holding a candelabra with one hand, a silver key in the other.
Your tears of relief spilled over at the sight of him.
“Erlo,” you whimpered, moving to hug him as well. He was just as quick about it as Greta was, gently stepping away from you with a small and sympathetic smile.
“We’ll get you out of here safely, miss,” he promised you.
A pang of fear hit you and you looked between Erlo and Greta, hand at your chest as you thought of the worst.
“And everyone else? Is everyone okay?” you asked them.
From above, you heard glass shattering and heavy thumps. Your heart pounded so hard against your chest that you worried your ribs would crack from the force. The fear you felt in that moment was unparalleled, unmatched by any other situation in your life. You’d never been this scared in your entire life.
“Everyone is safe. Except for you,” Greta said, and she nodded for Erlo to open the door. He unlocked it and hurried you both inside, but you stopped in your tracks when you saw Erlo wasn’t following.
“I’m going to lock the door behind me and slip the key under the crack. That should buy you some time,” he said to Greta, avoiding your gaze.
“What are you talking about? You’re coming with us, it’s not safe here! Something’s happening outside, people are angry and I don’t know why,” you rambled, tearing up again. Greta reached over to squeeze your hand, but everything about it was rushed, too hurried to really be a comfort to you.
Erlo flashed you another small smile, and then gave you a wink, his crow’s feet prominent as he finally flashed his goofy smile.
“I’ll be fine, miss. Don’t worry about me. It’s not me they’re after,” he assured you, but it didn’t make you feel any better.
Chef Erlo was like the father you’d never had. It was impossible to allow him to do this, but Greta held you back as he shut the door and locked it once again, with the key slipping underneath moments later.
Greta let go of you to swipe it off the ground, and then began to push you forward, nearly in the dark save for cracks of light at the door opposite the room.
The faint smell of wine permeated the air and you found yourself wishing for a glass to calm your nerves. Greta led you to the door in just a few moments flat, using the same key to unlock it and hurry through with you in tow.
It was the bulkhead entrance to the wine cellar, where the merchants would come deliver or take some wine. Part of your father’s business. It was where a lot of things were delivered. On the few steps there beneath the wooden doors, there was a maid’s dress and some worn shoes. One look at Greta told you that the new outfit was for you, so you wasted no time in nearly tearing off your dress and kicking off your shoes to put on the much simpler garments and better blend in outside without striking too much attention to yourself. Your current outfit would have been a dead giveaway to your status.
Greta lifted one of the doors up just enough to peer out cautiously as you changed, making sure it was safe to leave. Once she was sure it was, she nodded to you and lifted the door up quietly, keeping it lifted for you to hop up the short steps and out into the spring afternoon.
It was cloudy outside, threatening to rain. As if on cue, a crack of thunder sounded and you felt it was remarkably similar to a cliche in your favorite novel; it always rained whenever your favorite character was feeling upset.
You didn’t have much time to dwell on that. Greta gripped you by the elbow and tugged you away from the house in a pace that was rushed but not too much that it looked suspicious. Now that you were wearing new clothes, you looked like everyone else outside. There was no real need to rush and risk getting caught.
Nobody paid the two of you any mind. The real focus was on your house that was currently getting ransacked.
The sight made your heart sink to your stomach, but your tears had already dried.
It was true that these people were destroying the only home you’d ever known. It was true that in that moment, you were sure you’d never go back to it. But you just couldn’t find it in you to cry about this. Your tears were reserved for your staff and worrying about their wellbeing.
Whatever your father had done, it probably deserved this level of outrage.
Although you were filled to the brim with fear and adrenaline, above all, you felt a peculiar sense of freedom as more and more people pushed their way past the gates of your home to run inside.
Greta gave you a moment to watch the scene before steering you away with promises to explain everything as soon as she got you to safety.
The only time tears actually did threaten your eyes again was when Captain Levi’s face pushed its way into your mind once more.
Maybe you would never see him again. And maybe he’d like that.

Levi was all too familiar with feeling dread settle in his stomach and harden like a rock. He’d experienced it all his life, countless times as he watched comrades die, often such a big part of his nightmares and the reason for his insomnia.
He didn’t expect to feel that rock in his stomach as he approached your home. Rather, what was left of it.
But he felt it settle in his stomach, a dread so heavy that he almost had to hunch over, and he looked on in horror as people continued to run in and out of your home. Many people were running out with valuables in their arms. Others were running inside just to destroy everything in sight.
He was far too late, by the look of things.
His eyes darted around, a futile attempt to locate you, but of course he didn’t see you anywhere.
Soldiers and guards were doing what they could, and Levi could see reinforcements marching in, but it was too late.
It was too late.
Levi hopped off his horse and pushed past people and soldiers alike as he ran into your home, taking in the sight of broken glass and ruined furniture and banged up walls.
It was disgusting.
He went to your room first and only found it ravaged and empty with no signs of life.
Levi knew he was being crazy. Of course he wasn’t going to just find you there. In fact, the thought of seeing you in the middle of all this would have actually been worse. But not knowing where you were had his stomach in knots.
As a last resort, he checked the parlor room, where you’d shared an afternoon that had left Levi questioning himself and questioning you. Mostly himself.
He got there as the grandfather clock chimed at the top of the hour. It was just as ravaged as your room, but curiously enough, he noticed your favorite novel on the ground by where the side table used to be.
He picked it up and clutched it tightly, and then made a promise.
He would find you and he would get your book back to you. It was the only possession you had left in the world, he realized, looking around.
He’d find you.
He wouldn’t rest until he’d found you.
-
A cup of tea warmed your hands as silence filled the room of Greta’s mother’s kitchen.
The two women stared at you with so much sympathy, and so much worry, that it made you feel loved and yet also a little small at the same time.
Greta had just finished explaining everything to you.
Your father had been atrocious, and had taken advantage of his employees. He was in protective custody because he’d anticipated this riot to happen. Nobody knew where your mother was. It was a miracle that Greta and Erlo had managed to help you and everyone else out before you’d gotten hurt. Or killed.
And now you didn’t know what would happen next.
Your spirits, already low, dimmed even more at the thought of Chef Erlo. You desperately hoped he was okay, and hopefully he was. After all, he’d been correct: nobody was trying to hurt him. Only you and your family.
“Are you sure everybody made it out safely?” you whispered to Greta, who immediately nodded.
“Everyone’s been aware of some of the...tensions around town,” she explained. “We all had an exit plan in the works, just didn’t realize we’d have to implement it so soon.”
You flashed a brief and sad smile, nodding once as you took a sip of your tea.
“Thank you for getting everyone out safely first. It means the world to me.”
In your mind, you were just as responsible for your father’s sins as he was. To think you didn’t even have a clue of what was going on. It was embarrassing.
As if reading your mind, Greta’s mother, May, reached forward to squeeze your arm reassuringly.
“It’s not your fault, darling,” she murmured. “It wasn’t your place to know.”
You sighed softly and kept your eyes on your tea, frowning to yourself. It was true that you had basically been forced to be cooped up in the house, and now you were thinking there was a clear reason behind it now. You hardly had much say in your day to day schedule, especially after getting engaged to Captain Levi. Still, it didn’t feel good to be so in the dark.
And the thought of Captain Levi sent your heart aflutter. Did he know? Had he been aware of this the whole time? Was this part of the reason for your arrangement?
Slowly, you picked up your gaze from your tea to settle on Greta, biting the inside of your cheek before asking the question you were dreading to ask.
“What happens now?”
She didn’t look too sure either as she pondered your question, finally settling for shrugging her shoulders.
“I don’t know, miss,” she answered honestly. “I hate to say it, but it depends on your father. He and your mother will start looking for you once they realize you’re missing.”
The thought made you nauseous. Despite such a horrible outcome of your day, that peculiar feeling of freedom had been what kept you going. There was some sort of thrill attached to it.
You realized it was achingly similar to the hope you felt for your arrangement for Levi. The chance of things looking up, turning around.
All this hope and nothing to show for it.
Now you were hopeless.
-
News had gotten to Erwin quickly. Levi saw the commander ride in with other squad leaders as he helped beat down and arrest some of the rowdier citizens at your home. He hated to be there and wanted to go off and find you more than anything, but someone there had to have seen you, or seen what happened to you.
So far, nobody seemed to remember seeing you. In fact, some people had sworn to him that the house had been empty of people the entire time. Not a soul in the home at all.
When Erwin stepped past the gates, Levi had never wanted to pummel him so badly. Instead, he shoved a badly beaten merchant towards his commander with a growl, eyes nearly feral as he found the calm blue ones that he hated more than anything at the moment.
“You said there was civil unrest. You didn’t say there was an entire fucking mob,” he snapped.
Erwin remained calm, casually stepping over the merchant to get closer to Levi.
“Seems I was deceived,” he admitted, looking around. “Her father kept me in the dark. I had no idea about any of this. But I suppose you’ll be pleased to hear that I’m calling off the deal. We can’t tarnish the Scouts’ reputation even more by doing business with this family.”
Levi’s body went cold at the news.
Just a couple of weeks ago, he would have felt nothing but pure relief. Now, he felt nothing but pure dread.
“What about…?”
Levi couldn’t even say your name. It caught at the back of his throat and he struggled to breathe. He tried his best to remain as stoic as always, but Erwin knew him so well, and could see the concern at the edges of Levi’s gaze.
“There’s not much protection we can offer her, being her father’s daughter. She’s under his control,” Erwin reminded him. “Do you know where she is? I heard she’s declared missing.”
Levi nodded once to confirm, his worry amplifying at Erwin’s words.
He couldn’t protect you. Not while you were still affiliated with your father.
“People are saying that nobody was in the house,” Levi said, giving the commander a rundown of events. “I did a quick search, didn’t find any of the staff. No one was around.”
Erwin hummed a little, hands behind his back as he took in the sight of the damaged house in front of him.
“No surprise there. Our man of the hour is already in protective custody, having predicted this well before anyone else, and his wife was visiting with a friend, and now they’re all in protective custody as well. It’s just your ex-fiancee that we’re having trouble locating. Perhaps she’s with her staff.”
How stupid of him. Levi hadn’t really thought of that possibility yet. He’d been so focused on finding you, assuming the worst, that he hadn't taken the time to really think it through enough to realize that you were missing along with the staff.
Erwin was already five steps ahead of them.
“Some of the scouts are off to find the staff members that don’t live here in-house. One of them is bound to know where she is.”
Levi couldn’t help the small sigh of relief that left him, but he still felt useless if he wasn’t doing more to help. Without another word to Erwin, he marched off to do another quick search around the entire perimeter.
Some medics had come onto the scene as well and he was surprised to see a couple of them towards the back of the house, dragging someone out of the cellar. Levi had admittedly not really looked down there, knowing all there was, was food storage and wine cellar that someone had told him was all cleared out by now.
A familiar old man was getting dragged out and treated. He was badly beaten, bruised from head to toe, and his breathing was raspy and uneven.
Levi knew him to be a staff member and his heart skipped a beat.
Before he knew what he was doing, he was kneeling beside the old man, shaking him to get his attention despite the angry protests of a medic.
The old man opened his eyes and grimaced, but his face grew soft at the sight of Levi.
“Captain Levi,” he greeted him in a hoarse voice. “You’re a little late, don’t you think?”
“Where is she?” Levi asked, voice soft. “Do you know?”
“I know,” the man confirmed, nodding slowly as his eyes closed. “Greta...Greta took her. She’s...with Greta’s mother. But don’t know where...she lives.”
Greta. Levi knew that name. It was the name of one of the maids. You looked to be friends with her.
“Thank you,” he said, very sincere, before standing back up. More determined than ever, he made a beeline for his horse, a plan of action already formulating in his mind. He could make do with the information given to him. It was all he needed.
He was going to find you.
-
The sun hung low in the sky as May and Greta made up Greta’s old bed for you.
You had insisted on sleeping anywhere else, even the floor, but Greta had already set her mind on sharing a bed with her mother.
“I shared a bed with one of the other maids all the time, whenever we felt like it,” she told you. “I actually like it. It’s nice having another person there with you.”
You still felt a little guilty but stayed silent, and opted instead to watch the sun lower through the window of Greta’s childhood bedroom after being shooed off.
Greta and her mother chattered amongst themselves and you didn’t have the heart to join in just yet. You felt so drained after the day’s events that you couldn’t muster up the energy they had.
What kept you so anxious was also the thought of having to stay under your father’s thumb.
It was maddening to know that after everything, he still had your life in his hands. To be a highborn lady was to be in shackles.
A plan was starting to formulate in your mind, one where you could fake your death and run away and find work as a maid or maybe even a governess. Greta could help and confirm that you’d been taken, never to be seen again. You could grab your clothes that you’d discarded, if they were still around, and maybe douse them in animal blood or something, to really sell it.
But your plan was cut short with a pounding at the front door downstairs. The knocking was so intense that all three of you froze and looked between each other, fear prickling your spines.
When the door clearly sounded like it was trying to be opened, May sprang into action and ran downstairs, which kickstarted your adrenaline. You ran after her, afraid for her possibly getting hurt, reaching out for her to try and stop her from going any farther.
“May, no!” you hissed, eyes on the front door that was now in view. Someone was slamming into it, the lock jiggling unsteadily, until it finally gave in.
You were paralyzed in fear as the door flew open, but fear gave way to shock at the sight of Captain Levi at the entrance, looking frazzled. You would have never predicted you’d ever see him as anything other than composed or angry.
As soon as your eyes locked, you ran to him.
“Captain Levi!”
He stopped you before you could throw your arms around him and, at first, you felt embarrassed by it, taking it as a rejection.
It wasn’t until he started examining you, hands lifting and twisting your arms and turning your face this way and that, that you felt your heart warm up.
“Are you hurt?” he asked. He was cupping your face, holding your jaw familiar as his eyes scanned your face for any signs of injury, and that frazzled look he held only softened when his eyes finally met yours.
You shook your head slowly, keeping his gaze, hands shyly reaching up to cover his over your jaw.
“I’m not hurt,” you whispered. “Just scared.”
Levi frowned and reluctantly let go of your face, but his hands didn’t travel far. He rested them on your shoulders while your hands gently gripped his forearms, the two of you in your own little bubble.
“You don’t have to be scared anymore,” he promised you, sounding so earnest. “Nobody can hurt you while I’m here.”
Your bottom lip quivered, emotional at the thought of him willingly protecting you, but also emotional at the more sinister situation at hand.
“My father can,” you told him, squeezing his forearms as the words left your mouth. “Greta says he’ll be looking for me soon. I can’t escape him.”
Levi’s eyes hardened at that, grip also tightening on your shoulders, before he groaned and stepped away from you to run a hand over his face.
“Erwin said the same thing to me,” he admitted, pacing back and forth. He briefly looked towards Greta and her mother, then to the now broken front door, and blankly stared at them before muttering, “I’ll fix that.”
He turned back to you, arms crossed, as he took on a look of deep concentration. It was only there for a few moments before he snapped out of it, holding your gaze as he seemed to come to a conclusion.
“You can’t be under your father’s control once you’re married,” he pointed out.
At first, you didn’t understand. You raised a brow, a little peeved he was bringing it up, and nodded once.
“I suppose so…,” you agreed, a hint of a frown on your face. “But I’m assuming we won’t be getting married after this, so I’m kind of shit out of luck.” It was the first time you’d really sworn like that in front of Levi. In front of anyone. It was nice.
Levi tensed up a little and broke his eye contact with you to look away, and you could have sworn he looked a little flustered. There was a hint of pink at the tips of his ears, which shocked you.
“What?” you pressed, also feeling a bit of heat creep into your face.
This wasn’t happening. No way this was happening.
Levi hadn’t wanted to marry you even when it was basically required of him.
Your hopeless romantic little heart was just playing tricks on you. He wasn’t possibly going to suggest…
“I gave my word and I don’t intend on going back on it,” he said, still not looking at you, ears still pink. “Got any better ideas?”
“Captain Levi…,” you began, but then trailed off, not knowing what to say, until finally you managed out, “You don’t have to do this.”
He scoffed a little, eyes finally flickering back to you. Tentatively, he stepped forward until he was right in front of you again. You stayed perfectly still as he lifted a hand to place it on top of your head, giving you a small pat before ruffling up your hair.
“I have something for you,” he said suddenly, taking his hand away to reach into the pocket of his coat.
And then your favorite novel was in your hands, a little more crumpled up than usual but basically intact.
Tears sprang to your eyes and you hugged the book to your chest gratefully, looking to Levi with nothing but adoration.
At that moment, it was all you owned in the world. You didn’t even own the clothes on your back.
“That was really nice,” you choked out, gazing down at the book again with a small smile.
Levi stepped forward again, closing the distance between you as he rested a hand on your shoulder again.
“Let me protect you,” he said, tone filled with an air of finality that you couldn’t argue with. “I know I don’t have to.”
He didn’t have to say the actual words; you understood what he meant.
I want to.
-
Marriage was all about compromise.
In the end, Levi didn’t get to prolong his nuptials, since marrying you had to be done quickly. However, it also had to be done in secret. So, at the very least, you figured he at least got half of his wishes respected.
The moment the ink was dry on the certificate, you felt a weight lift off your shoulders. You shed your maiden name to gain a new surname, fully protected from your father now and fully backed by the Survey Corps. It was your 30th day of knowing Levi. Your 1st day of being married.
You took in a deep breath as Erwin took the document from you to sign as a witness, and you turned to Levi with a small and timid smile, which he actually tried to return. It was brief, but it was appreciated. And when he lifted his hand to pat your head affectionately, you melted a little.
“I’m sorry you didn’t have a big wedding like you wanted,” he murmured, eyes staring at you with a hint of remorse. “I should have never made you agree to that before.”
A half-smile tugged at one corner of your mouth and you shook your head, nudging your shoulder to his playfully.
“I never really wanted to have a big wedding,” you admitted to him. “I just wanted to have a special day for myself. And for my husband, of course. Didn’t have to be a big thing. It just needed to be special.”
Levi seemed to lighten up at that, giving another brief smile before murmuring, “That’s a relief.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, but he didn’t respond, choosing instead to stand up and offer a hand to help you on your feet as well.
You smoothed down the cream dress Greta had so kindly let you borrow and followed Levi out the door, head held a little higher now that you were an official Ackerman and nothing else. Instead of going to Commander Erwin’s office to go over a few next steps like originally planned, you found yourself following Levi outside.
“Where are we going?” you asked, puzzled, but Levi scoffed a little and turned to look at you from over his shoulder.
“If you could just be a little patient, I promise you’ll find out soon enough,” he said.
It was a beautiful day, you had to admit. The spring temperature was perfect and you basked in the sunlight, feeling freer than you’d ever felt before.
You stepped onto the grass in the courtyard, eyes towards the sky, and it wasn’t until you heard several people clear their throat that you tilted your head down to take a look.
Your heart nearly stopped as you saw Erlo, Greta, May, and Charlie, and some of Levi’s friends, sitting on the grass, a spread of what looked like a marvelous lunch in front of them.
Shouts of congratulations were passed around and you lit up at the sight, heart feeling full as you stumbled over while dragging Levi along.
You turned to him, eyes bright and excited, still not quite understanding.
“What is this?” you asked, looking between your bubble of friends and your brand new spouse.
Levi looked a little uncomfortable, but in that cute way, and Greta beat him to the punch with the answer.
“It’s your wedding day, so we’re celebrating, of course!” she laughed, then nodded towards Levi with a cunning grin. “It was your husband’s idea.”
Levi’s entire face flushed at the term but he also looked murderous at being found out.
You grinned at him, feeling warmed at his gesture, and you made a mental note to pull him aside later for a real thank you.
At that moment, you made do by sneaking a kiss to his cheek, fully appreciating the way he got flustered.
-
Erwin had made up a new room for you at base and, after a full day’s worth of celebrating your wedding day, you were ready to fall into bed.
The room was right next to Levi’s, which you appreciated. It seemed funny, almost, since of course spouses typically shared a room, but under these circumstances, that wasn’t very likely.
You cared for Levi and you could see that he at least cared for you in some ways, but those feelings would need to be nurtured with time.
The two of you were in front of your bedroom door, with you yawning up a storm, and Levi grumbling about getting you to bed.
You burst into your room and made a beeline for your bed, not bothering to really look around at your new room or even change out of your clothes. As soon as you were on the bed, you felt your drowsiness start to overtake you.
Before you passed out, you peeked over at Levi, who was getting situated at a desk.
“Aren’t you gonna sleep?” you asked, yawning again, and Levi turned to look at you briefly.
“Not for a while,” he answered finally.
You frowned at that but didn’t argue with him, your heart bubbling over with so many questions and feelings that you just couldn’t hold in anymore.
“Do you still dislike me?” you blurted out, face heating up at your lack of filter.
Levi raised a brow, pointedly looking towards the new ring on your finger. Then, his gaze softened, and he leaned back in the chair he sat in.
“No,” he answered. “And I was wrong for judging you before. I’m sorry I didn’t give you a chance sooner.”
You stayed quiet for a moment, but kept your eyes on Levi, no matter how hard it was.
“Do you think you’ll fall in love with me one day, now that we’re married?”
You couldn't stop that question from tumbling out either, but you were too curious to feel embarrassed.
Levi’s ears flushed pink, a cute new trait you were catching onto. He looked away from you briefly, clearly trying to find the right words, and he took so long to respond that you felt your heart start to sink.
But then he stood from his seat and moved to kneel beside the bed, a hand reaching up to smooth some hair out of your face.
“Let me focus on protecting you first,” he said.
His eyes were the softest they’d ever been. They gave you another answer.
“I’m going to love you,” you promised him. You still couldn’t admit that you were actively falling in love. Not to him, not right now. But another time.
“I don’t deserve that, after how I acted,” he whispered.
“I’ll always forgive you,” you whispered back. “And I’m going to love you.”
Levi moved his hand from your head to tuck you into the sheets a little better, avoiding your gaze. Neither one of you said anything for a minute, a comfortable silence falling between you like that afternoon in the parlor room.
As you began to drift off, Levi’s soft voice filled your ears with one final promise. One that was meant more for him than for you.
“I’ll figure out how to love.”
You were too tired to notice how the sheets smelled like Levi. You were too tired to realize that the room was clearly already lived in and had typical possessions of a squad captain, from ODM gear to a desk clearly stacked up with documents.
You’d been too tired to remember that your bedroom door was the right one and not the left one. You’d been too tired to notice that you’d opened the left door.
Levi was too besotted by you to correct your mistake.
Somewhere, a grandfather clock chimed as midnight struck.

It was only a work event; it was only supposed to last a couple hours and then you’d drive back to your empty apartment. That was all the night was supposed to be, Eren had been the one to make you stay for longer, the event was only to gain extra money even with the CEO of the company already having all the money he needed. You never understood the need for these events, it was a way to just flaunt wealth and you would rather just stay at home.
Even if you did love your job and your friends, the only real reason you’d ever resign was if a certain man had started to hate you. You knew it was cliche, resigning because a man hated you, but he wasn't just any man, he was the strongest in all fields of the company and a great asset. You on the other hand may have just been below him in position, but you’d never reach his standards.
Remembering the earlier conversation you had had with the man, on arrival with Eren who had wandered off to get some drinks. You found yourself flicking through your phone before hearing a cough behind you. “Oh Levi.”
His lip twitched upwards before he composed himself, “I thought you said you weren’t coming.”
“Oh, Eren kinda dragged me here.” You stared at his build, the way the suit fit him perfectly, the loose buttons allowing his neck to show. Even his fingers with the veins across the back of his hand-held rings, you couldn’t say that you hadn't given long looks towards his arms and hands when you both had to work late.
“You look nice.” He didn't meet your gaze; he couldn't lie and say the dress you adorned didn’t make his heart flutter. How could he not love the way your figure rested in it, how perfectly your boobs rested between the dress. How even with its length you looked seductive, the way even your neck looked ready for kisses and marks. He shook his head trying to not think of anymore thoughts but the soft eyes you gave back made him stare at you.
“You look nice too.” You repeated before noticing the crests of ink across your wrist, you hadn’t noticed it before but now you could. “Woah, you got another one.”
In a matter of seconds you grabbed his hand, your other hand moving his blazer jacket to see the tattoo swirls across his arm. You always loved his tattoos, he had shown you them a while back, and you had fallen for the scenes he had across his arm. He always tried to hide them in meetings but in the comfort of work colleagues, when he’d roll his sleeves up you were able to see the patterns across his arms.
You skimmed your finger against the new ink that you haven't seen a month ago. “Yeah, I got it a month back, I’m surprised you didn’t notice, brat.” He teased knowing how you always did stare at his arms.
“Oh shut up, it’s so pretty.” You grazed your finger across the tattoo, Levi felt his cheeks gloss over with red. He didn't care to watch how enticed you looked, your hand touching his own whilst your finger contained to trace his new tattoo. “Wait, I remember you showing me the designs.”
“I asked which one you liked, and you picked this one.” He shrugged not wanting to make you feel shy over the fact that something you picked was now permanently on his body.
You felt your eyes widen at his words; your opinion had meant something to him. You had meant something to him, “Agh Levi, Y/n, Hanje is waiting for you Levi.” Erwin spoke having appeared from one of the doors to the hall, Levi nodded as you let go of his hand.
He missed your touch but knew if Hanje was the one waiting, she’d become irritated from not doing anything. “I’ll see you, Y/n.” You nodded giving him a way as he left with Erwin.
Eren passed you the drink after you both had mingled with some of the less ranked staff. You didn't care to make friends in a company filled with over 200 people there was no need, you’d never meet them again, so why should you care. Taking a large sip, glad that Erwin had finished the introductions of the night in haste, he was always good with words. That's probably how he got so much money from the company and other businesses.
“Y/n.” Eren nudged you softly, “you spaced out, we should go find Armin and Mikasa.”
You nodded, the blue dress clinging to your frame, with the small straps across your shoulder. You regretted not bringing a jacket, having decided to go for a more attractive look rather than comfortable. “Y/n, Eren.” Armin called out.
“Hey Armin.” You gave him a smile hugging the boy, his blonde hair crept to his shoulders and the suit he wore fitted him nicely.
Eren went next smiling at him as you wanted to talk to Mikasa, “you not seen Levi yet?” She questions taking another long drag of her drink.
“I saw him earlier.” You seethed out, even with your early conversation, an intimacy between the two of you, he was still the strongest in your company and a man you highly looked up to. But it's not like you were in love with him, it was just an office crush, a simple crush that would go away in a matter of months.
Jean and Connie were the next to come meet you guys, you enjoyed hanging out with them but became agitated as if someone was staring at you. It felt like eyes were eyeing every inch of you, watching the way you touched the glass, the way you licked your lips. “That guy’s been looking at you for a while.” Jean lowly whispered into your ear; Jean had seemed to notice but hadn't said anything until he saw a shiver run through you.
He moved away from your ear, having had to bend down to even reach you, he went back to talking to Connie who had been trying to gain Sasha’s attention away from the food. You stopped paying attention to the group, deciding to turn around to meet the man's eyesight, that's when you saw it.
The dull eyes of your ex-boyfriend, the eyes of the man who had degraded you to your limits, left you crying on the floor, pushed you away and gave you the worst months of your life. Your breath hitched at the sight of him eyeing you up and down without shame, the glass you held looked like it was about to shatter.  You wanted to go home, leave away from the man, putting your glass down as you quickly walked away from the group with your head low.
You knew he was following you, the feeling of his gaze etched onto your skin. You didn’t even know why he was here, thinking back, you didn’t know how he could have even gotten in. That’s when it dawned on you as you tried getting past the guests and their plus ones, your stomach felt like it was about to explode of anxiousness. You continued trying to get out of the hall, to gain some air, but he kept at it, following you swiftly.
That’s when you saw Levi, he was at the bar, a drink in his hand as he was looking around. He had been on his own, you were almost grateful for this, but the feeling of your ex nearing sent your mind into overdrive. With a quick step your eyes moved to the man, he had seen you walk towards you, the figure of a man following like a lost manic puppy.
“Y/n.” The man repeated your name, but you kept on ignoring him. Your eyes fixated on Levi the way he had rolled his sleeves up, his blazer on the side. His jaw tense as he watched you being followed.
Levi took a swing of his drink, the alcohol burning his throat, even the way you walked up to him was so fucking sexy to him. He leant against the bar, waiting for another drink to come his way, until you finally came up to him. “Y/n.”
“Levi.” You whispered, just as your ex was about to call your name, you smashed your lips onto Levi. You didn't care if others were around, who were not even bothered about your actions anyway. Levi had been in shock at first but had kissed you back, his tongue flicked against your lips, his hands cupping your face. He shouldn’t have let it continue so why was he trying to bring you closer. Why was your body moulding into his, why hand your hands moved to his hair.
A small whimper from your mouth let his tongue glide inside, moving along with your own. He let out a groan at how both of you were too close, he could taste the alcohol and presumed you could taste what he was drinking. His hand moved to your waist, trying to bring you even closer, he didn't know why you had even kissed him. But he assumed it was because of the man who had taken a couple steps backwards.
You finally let go, mouths still only inches away, you regret your actions, not having considered Levi’s feelings. Words spurted from your mouth instantly, “sorry, I shouldn’t have kisse…”
This time it was Levi’s turn to instigate it, his hands grabbing your head making your lips smash into his again. He had always been in control, guiding your head through the kiss, your heart fluttered, the first kiss you had had was only to get rid of your ex, but this one, it was one that proved that he did like you.
He let go of your face, his thumb caressing your cheek as he stared lovingly at you, “you k...kissed me.”
“You kissed me first.” He grabbed his drink, taking another sip as he stared at you, hand still around your waist.
“I...I…” You couldn’t speak, only staring at the man instead. He stared back, before giving a small smirk.
“That guy left, I guess the alcohol took over.” He muttered; he didn't even know if you liked him like that.
“He was my ex.” You whisper.
Levi acknowledged, “a twat?”
You nodded, looking down, “we broke up on bad terms.”
“Would you ever get back with him?” Levi questioned, even with it being on bad terms, Levi knew how easily manipulative guys could be.
Levi watched as you shook your head, his hands firmly gripped on your waist seemed a lot more. He saw you take a deep breath before you continued speaking hesitantly, “I…I like you Levi.”
“Good, now that you’ve shown the whole event that, we should get out of here.” He put his hand out, he had spoken with such confidence, but inside he knew he was shitting himself.
“Levi.” You were still hesitant.
He turned to face you again, his hand still out, “take my hand, brat...I like you too, okay?”
“Okay.” You smile looking down to suppress just how wide your grin was, you take his hand as he brought you closer to him again, his jacket in his other hand, as your fingers played with the rings he had.
He went towards Erwin hand still with yours, Mikasa was the first one to notice, elbowing Eren who had given the loudest sign before passing Jean what looked like some money. You rolled your eyes as they watched the stern Levi have you in his tight grasp. It was common knowledge between the group of yours and Levi’s crushes on each other, the long looks you’d give each other after work, the way you'd both instantly turn to face each other in meetings. Even the way Levi would bring you coffees in the morning even if he hated making them. Everybody knew and it almost came at a relief that both your pining for each other were finally over.
“We’ll see you later, Erwin.” Levi smiled as you gave a smile and waved back to the blond.
“Do you think Y/n will let me look inside her brain to see why she likes Levi?” Hanje questioned Erwin watching as Levi brought you closer to him, his arm resting against your waist.
“No, Hanje.” Erwin spoke stoically, removing the drink from her hand.
Levi’s eyes stayed fixed on yours, his arm wrapped around your waist. Your fingers began tracing his tattoos. “Y/n?” You both stood at the entrance, but the sound of someone calling your name, made you both turn around. “Who’s here?”
Your ex stood with a sadistic grimace on his face, trying to act threatening but Levi gave a dull look at the man. “He’s none of your business.” Levi spoke, seeing how you began to look scared.
“I wasn’t speaking to you.” Your ex was about to waive the man off, ready to grab your arm.
“I don’t like when people touch what’s mine.” Levi gave a glare holding you behind his back.
“Yours?” Your ex looked even more pissed.
Levi didn’t want an argument, seeing it as immature and fighting a feeble man like your ex would bring him no enjoyment. “Ignore him princess, lets’ go.” Levi didn't even let your ex interrupt instead taking you outside leaving your ex with an angry confused face.
“I’m yours?” You questioned once the feeling of the cold air hit you both. He let his jacket drape across your shoulders, the black and blues in the sky mixing together with pins of stars scattered throughout it all.
Levi looked up to watch the stars, at how everything looked so bright in the dark. “You are now, idiot” He whispers, grabbing your hand again, you gave a small smile to the boy, his hand bringing your comfort as you both just stood outside the venue.
Basking in the comfort you both brought as you watched the constellations and swirls of blues flow throughout the sky. Levi may have hated to admit it, but he was almost relieved that your ex had come, without him both your feelings probably would’ve never been revealed. His grip tightened on your own hand, watching as you learnt your head against his shoulder, he felt comforted, warm even and was never going to let you go.

Title: Haircut
Pairings: Levi x fem! Reader
Summary: You got a haircut but you're not confident of how it turns out so you avoided your boyfriend, Levi so he wouldn't see your new haircut but at the end of the day you still ended up meeting Levi.
Warnings; Mentions of 18+ thing at the end. Other than that, none.
Word Count: 1000+
(This idea just popped into my head today because I just got a new haircut and I feel awful about it :< so this is me tryin' to cheer myself up.)
Tumblr media
••••••
You sighed as you looked at yourself in the mirror, “I look awful.” you told yourself as you comb your hair using your fingers, you just got a new haircut, Erwin suggested that you should cut your hair short because it's too long.
He's not lying though. Eren, Armin, Connie, Jean and the other people that are too many to mention, are always talking about your hair. Every damn time you'd pass by in front of them they'll talk about how long your hair is, your hair has always been in a ponytail down your back.
And when they saw you while your hair was flowing freely down your back to your hips, everybody's jaw dropped, realizing that your hair is much longer than they thought.
You've always loved your hair, if there's something that you love about yourself, it is your hair, especially your boyfriend, Captain Levi loves playing with it, he loves smelling it, he even tried braiding your hair. It was bad but he didn't stop trying to perfect the art of braiding.
But because of Erwin's order, you've decided that your hair could get in the way when you're fighting Titans, so you decided to give yourself a haircut.
You tied your hair up in a bun, nobody would notice the change in its length once you keep it that way, you find your new haircut awful and there's no way you would let anyone see this new haircut of yours.
••••
“Did somebody see Y/N around?” Levi asked Connie, the latter shook his head slowly, “I haven't seen her, Captain.” he answered as he proceeded in sweeping the floor.
“Where the hell is my brat?” Levi asked himself, he needs to see you as soon as possible, or else he wouldn't be able to focus on work. He just had to see you, hug you or talk to you for quite some time so he could finally start working.
It's already 12 o'clock in the afternoon and he hasn't seen you yet, Connie was the tenth person that he asked about you. Eren told him he saw you feeding the horses but when he went there you're already gone.
When he approached Armin, the kid just told him you're with Hanji but when he went to look for Hanji you were not with her.
He's already frustrated of what's happening, is it all coincidence that you're already gone before he could see you or you're purposely avoiding him?
He tried reflecting on himself, thinking if he did something to make you upset, he didn't sleep beside you last night but you usually don't mind such cases, because you understand that there's too many paper works. What did he do that made you avoid him?
•••••••
So far, operation avoid Levi Shorty Ackerman is doing good, you succeeded in avoiding him. When you entered the headquarters your gaze landed at Connie who was passionately sweeping the floor.
When the bald guy noticed your presence he immediately waved excitingly.
“Y/N! Captain Levi was looking for you, want me to tell him you arrived?” Connie asked you innocently as he smiles widely.
You just shook your head politely, “Where did he go?” you asked, you have to know where Levi went so you could go somewhere far from him. Connie thought for a second.
He actually didn't get to see which way Levi exactly went but he think he saw him headed to the left, “He turned left earlier.” he answered.
You smiled and pat Connie's bald head before heading to the kitchen, Sasha is probably the only person staying there, you just need some tea right now.
But instead of Sasha, you saw Levi instead, his grey eyes immediately met yours as he sipped onto his tea, when he placed down the teacup, he stood up and walked towards you.
You cussed Connie in your head for a hundred times, he told you Levi turned left! That bald kid!
“You've been avoiding me, I presume.”
“What? I was just busy.” you denied, you felt cold sweats formed in your forehead, Levi kept on stepping forward but you keep on stepping backwards. He was looking at you intensely, he stopped walking when he noticed that you keep on stepping back.
You finally get to breathe steadily but he suddenly snatched your arms and pulled you towards him, your body slapping onto his, you shut your eyes because of the impact, not that it hurts so bad, there's just a weird effect when your body slapped against his.
“I know it when you're lying, brat. What did I do? Is it because I didn't sleep beside you last night? Did I accidentally made you jealous? What did I do?"
“Nothing. I'm just busy today.”
“Cut the crap, Y/N. Just tell me why are you killing me like this?” he whispered as he hugged you, burying his face on the crook of your neck as he breathes heavily. “Levi, it's just that...” you gently pushed him away from you and pointed your head, he looked at you in confusion, still not getting it.
“Well, ahm I did something stupid last night.” you crossed your fingers as you bite your lower lip.
“What did you do, exactly?” Levi asked curiously, he's hoping you didn't get yourself hurt because he'd go crazy once that happens, you can be hard headed most of the times and you're the most unpredictable woman he'd ever met.
But that is the reason why he loves you, you're always full of surprises and random things he wouldn't find attractive nor important when it's other people but when it's about you, everything is important.
Your heart was beating crazy fast as you slowly lift your hands to reach your hair bun, you were closing your eyes as you freed your hair, you let it fall freely in your shoulders, it was cut that short—you still haven't heard Levi spoke yet and it's killing you for real.
After some moment of silence, Levi's low chuckle echoed through your ear and you clenched your fist, you knew it, he'll make fun of you.
“I know, I look ugly.” you trailed off but you felt Levi's strong arms made their way on your waist, he pulled you close to him before he leaned down to press a kiss on your lips.
“You look beautiful, Y/N. I just find it weird that you have to avoid me just because of this haircut.”
“You loved my long hair right? You told me you love playing with it.” you mumbled as you tried hiding your face from him but Levi nipped your chin using your fingers, before he raised your chin and pressed his lips on yours quickly.
“Brat, it is you that I love the most. My love is not based on your hairstyle or hair length. You look beautiful in any hairstyle. It will grow back anyways.”
He raked his fingers on your hair with a smile, “See? I can still play with your hair like this. Don't you ever think that my love for you is shallow. I love you no matter what, you can even shave every single hair in your body and I would still be here, ready to love you.” you don't know what to say, you were out of words at that moment so you decided to just act out what you feel.
You grabbed him by his collar and pulled him down for a deep passionate kiss, Levi even hummed as he pulled you closer and closer. Not wanting to leave any space between the two of you.
“I love you, Captain.”
“I love you too, brat.” he smirked before scooping you up.
“Levi!” you scolded as you try hitting his back so he could put you down but he didn't, he's not affected.
“I gotta keep you locked in the bedroom so no one could see how prettier you've become. Fuck my paper works, you're my priority.” he smirked as he playfully cupped your ass.
“Fuck you.”
“You already did, brat.”

Hi! :D I saw that request are open, soo can you do a reader x levi where reader and reiner were a couple, but she found out about him being the armor titan and now she is a mess and levi is making her forget about reiner or something like that, pretty please? 🥺
Oooo I like it :)
Summary: Reader is heartbroken with the revelation of the identities of the Armored and Colossal titans.
Word Count: 1.8K
__
You sat numbly at the dining room table. It had been one day since Reiner and Bertolt revealed their secret. You and the others were still in shock, denial even for some of you. Connie sat to your left, his face in his hands, shoulders slumped. Levi and Hange had left you and the others alone to update the commander on the current situation. It felt wrong, to be without the blonde, someone who had slipped into your heart and become a constant in your life effortlessly. Someone you trusted implicitly with all your heart, he had been more than a comrade to you. More than a friend even, the two of you shared countless nights under the stars during your cadet days, talking about anything and everything. But now you wandered if it was all an act, an elaborate scheme to blend into the ranks, seem human. Because no human being could slip between roles the way that they had. But he had felt human when you kissed him, held him, talked to him.
“Your turn to be on duty.” Sasha said, coming into the small space, shotgun slung over her shoulder. Mikasa held an armful of kindling, which she set near the stove before turning to retreat into the back room where Eren was resting.
“Okay Sash.” Connie said, his tone deflated and dull. Sasha handed you the shotgun and Connie shrugged a cloak on, pulling the hood over his head as the two of you walked out into the night. You stood on the makeshift towers that had been constructed, looking up at the same stars that you’d gazed at with Reiner ages ago. It was all so fresh, the sting of the steam hitting your face as they transformed, the clap of thunder. The way he had begun throwing titans left and right with no regard for his former comrades, for you. All of you had nearly died in the fiasco, yet you couldn’t bring yourself to be mad at him. No you were just plain hurt. Connie perked up beside you, pushing his hood down when the sound of hooves thundering down the deserted path became clear.
“They’re back.” Connie stated the obvious as he climbed down the tower, you followed him. Once the superiors arrived you took the reins of their horses and rushed to put them away, eager to hear your next orders. With the horses fed and watered you both ran back into the cabin. You hung the rifle by the door and Connie threw his cloak onto one of the coat hooks. The others had already gathered at the table, Historia sat at the head of the table, a humble meal was prepared and placed on the table, soup and stale bread as always. You listened as Historia told you her story, of her true identity and what that meant for all of you. Levi and Hange informed you that the government was fed up with the scouts and planned to punish Erwin Smith. Everything was falling apart, the little family that you had found was about to come crumbling down once more. As soon as Levi gave the order for all of you to go to bed, the cadets fled to the two rooms, one for the girls the other for the boys. Hange left once more, something about checking up on the pastor and keeping Erwin company. You were doing dishes with Armin who was drying them with shaky hands.
“Go to bed, I can finish this.” You assured him, wanting to be alone and do a mindless task to help you dissociate.
“I couldn’t-”
“I need this Armin, just go to sleep.” You came across a bit hostile but at the moment you couldn’t care less. He frowned but set the towel aside and retreated with slumped shoulders. Levi cleared his throat from behind you as he came back into the kitchen. You didn’t even spare him a glance as he reached into the cupboard for the tea leaves, he filled the tea pot with water and began to boil the water. As he waited he sat at the kitchen table in silence.
“Finish those and head to bed.” His cold voice made you jump a bit, due to the randomness of his order.
“Yes sir.” You answered as you scrubbed at the ancient dishes. Your hands were sore, they had been burned during your assault on Bertolt. The bandages were wet now, the salve Hange had applied earlier in the day had long since dried up. As you finished the last dish you turned and dried your hands off, a involuntary hiss escaping your lips as you applied too much pressure to your wounds.
“What’s wrong cadet?” Levi asked as he poured hot water over the bitter leaves.
“It’s nothing, just burned my hands yesterday...” You answered as you pulled at the bandages.
“Hm I see.” Levi mused as he reached into the cupboard once more, you watched him carefully, waiting for him to tell you to get lost. But instead he produced another cup, pouring tea into it and walked over towards the door. You watched, confused when he paused before the door.
“Bring the roll of bandages and that salve Hange had earlier. They’re in that bag over there.” He said with a vague nod in the direction of the humble living room. You found the bandages and salve, you carried them out into the cool summer evening, the sound of cicadas and tree frogs felt familiar and comforting. You found him on the porch on one of the rickety old chairs. The cups were steaming as they sat on a small round table, he watched you with a dull expression as you sat in the other chair and placed the bandages and salve on the table.
“Let me see them.” He sighed, holding his hands out, his own palms were littered with callouses and old scars. You timidly obeyed, placing the backs of your hands in his palms. He inspected the bandages for a moment before he began to unwrap them. You watched as he uncovered your wrecked palms, the flesh red and blistered from doing the dishes and other chores all day long.
“You should have said something.” Levi scolded as he unscrewed the lid of the salve and dipped a finger into the cool substance.
“It wouldn’t have been fair. We’re all injured.” You pointed out as he began to smear the salve onto your left palm.
“You’re no good to me if your hands get infected and need to be amputated.” He shot back, his dark eyes focused on the task at hand, you frowned but said nothing.
“I suppose.” You said after a moment, your eyes taking the opportunity to study his features as he worked, the soft curve of his nose, prominent cheek bones and delicate brows. He was undeniably handsome, you had known this obviously, the women of the walls always threw themselves at his feet.
“Tomorrow you will do look out rotations instead of cleaning or getting wood. Your hands need to heal.” He stated as he wrapped your left palm back up in fresh bandages. The burning had subsided with the aid of the salve, now he turned his attention to your other hand.
“Yes sir.” You answered obediently as you watched him unwrap the bandages once more.
“How is your knee?” You attempted to make conversation, eyes traveling to inspect the injured knee. He paused and looked up at you, his eyes weren’t as hard as they’d been moments ago, the sudden softness caught you off guard.
“Better.” He answered with a clipped tone as he held your hand tenderly. His thumb rubbed the space over the inside of your wrist and your brows raised in shock.
“You were close with them?” His words and actions alike caught you off guard, you blinked dumbly at him as he waited for an answer.
“I was....” You said, his grip on your wrist tightened then eased up almost instantly.
“It’s a shame. They were good soldiers.” He said nonchalantly as he ran his salve covered fingers over your torn skin.
“Yes.” was all you could manage as he began to wrap your wounds. When he finished he sat back, crossing his legs, one ankle resting on his opposite knee. He reached for his cup and took a sip of the bitter tea, eyes wandering to scan the forest. Not knowing what else to do, you grabbed your own cup with your freshly wrapped hands and took a sip of the calming liquid.
“Where are you from cadet?” Levi asked, once more shocking you.
“A small village in wall Maria.” you answered, the memory of your cozy home and the unfortunate end that it met coming to your mind.
“Hm, that why you joined the scouts?” He mused, eyes still not on you.
“Yes, mainly.”
“Mainly?” He looked at you now, eyes curious.
“I wanted to fight alongside my brother.” You answered, remembering how he had been killed by the female titan during the 57th.
“Ah I remember him now.” Levi said, his tone soft and understanding.
“Good soldier, he would be....proud of you I’m sure.” You looked at him with wide eyes, he was being so kind. Did he put something in his tea?
“I can only hope...” You said, taking another sip of the tea, hoping now that there was alcohol in it to calm your nerves and help make sense of this weird situation.
“We must remember our fallen, that’s what I fight for, their memory.” Levi said, the vulnerability in his voice making your heart skip a beat. He had lost people too in that expedition, their deaths were the only reason that you’d been assigned to his squad.
“Yeah..” you said lamely as you tried to make sense of where all of this was coming from.
“Sir?” You started, unsure of if the next words you were going to speak would be appropriate or not.
“Hm what is it?” He asked over the rim of his cup.
“C-Could you...tell me a story or something? I can’t stop thinking about-”
“What do I look like? Your mother?” He snorted, setting his cup down, you blushed profusely, instantly regret flooding your chest.
“No forget about it, it’s stupid” You said, shaking your head and standing quickly. Levi leaned forward and caught your wrist.
“Sit.” You dropped back into your seat without a second thought.
“I guess...I could tell you about the time-” He trailed off, a thoughtful expression replacing his dull one. You found yourself admiring the rare expression fondly.
“The time that I had to knock Hange unconscious to bathe her, filthy animal.” Levi scoffed and leaned back into his seat when he saw that you were no longer trying to get away.
“That sounds perfect.” You sighed and sat back as well, ready to hear about the antics that Hange and Levi went through to get your mind off of the betrayal.
“She got into some mud after a mission, wouldn’t bathe. Said there was too much work to do-” You closed your eyes, letting the baritone voice wash over your senses and sweep any other thoughts out of your mind. That night you fell asleep to Levi’s voice for the first time and the melody of cicadas and tree frogs.

— rumors with erwin smith.
Tumblr media
being both in higher positions and closer to each other, it seemed about right for erwin to invite you to come with him within wall sina for a visit of some sort to some wealthy businessman that you have no idea who. everything was pretty vague, considering erwin woke you up from your slumber with a loud knock at your door— without even acknowledging your delayed grunt of a response as who might it been.
but you let it pass because for some reason, you knew it was him— and it was okay for him to barge in like that.
like mentioned, close.
wall sina was decorated with beautiful and elegant people, houses big with great architecture as the walls on wealthy houses were tall— secluded from each other. you admired the architecture while erwin talked to the businessman a few feet apart, occasionally looking back at your wandering eyes. as he finished your talk from the corner of your eyes, you stared back at him, basking in the way sun danced around him.
an angel reincarnate— but his eyes devious as you slightly squinted, lips pursed because you know that look.
it came out of nowhere—even erwin thought so too. perhaps it was the way your eyes devoured him, or the parting sigh that escaped from your soft lips that awaken something in erwin.
erwin looked back once more to the businessman, raising a hand— until he pulled you close to him, shoulder to shoulder as you two walked around aimlessly.
you counted. it took fifty steps for him to grab your wrist, pull you back to him, dragging you out of the public eye as he eyed the narrow alley— tall walls from parallel houses. still— it was out in the public, anybody could walk in the alleyway.
he flushed you against the rough wall, placing a hand on your jaw as he tilted your chin up, making you question as to what he was doing. hearts thumping as blood rushed on your cheeks, feeling the sensation of his calloused fingers dig in to your skin from just one touch.
and every time he touches you— you turn into a mess, finding a haze in your mind as you searched more and wanted more of him.
“now?”
your voice danced teasingly and soft on erwin’s mind— your eyes challenging him if this was really about to happen. the stare between you lasted for 10 seconds, until erwin watched you drag your tongue across your lower lip— your eyes flicking downwards, and it was all he ever needed.
“now.”
erwin untangled your thin green jacket, his big hands coming over to take control over your gentle ones as he unbuckled his belt— leaving it open as he widened your legs apart with a nudge. his fingers made work over your own belt and trouser, pulling them just a little to get a view and of your underwear— as he moved in closer, shielding your body on one side.
he held the eye contact, as his fingers rubbed just over your clothed cunt— clicking his tongue as he moved his fingers just above. immediately, his lips found yours— kissing you forcefully at first, his lips moving faster than yours. and once you placed your hands around his cheek and one on his nape, you took control, pulling the kiss gentler but still in a hurry.
his fingers didn’t stop running up and down until you felt the air hit— making you moan on to his lips just as when he pushed inside you. erwin chuckled in the kiss— feeling the way your walls flutter within the sensation of his two fingers, softly and hard as he continued all the while capturing your breathy pleas and moans.
erwin listened to two things: your lewd sighs on his ear, and the one around the surroundings, specifically the heels on the cobblestones as faint laughter of the people walking by, aware of the couple in the alleyway, yet oblivious to the act.
or not.
“do you promise to be real quiet?” erwin asked, kissing your jaw at each word, as he pulled away— his eyes stern and dark, “they might hear you and know that i’m fucking you with my fingers.”
your body jolted, holding on to his arm as his thumb rested circles on your clit, making you inhale deeply— biting down your lip, as your nails dig on his skin. he played with your clit so well, moved his fingers inside you so well— filling you up as the coils in your stomach tightened as well as the drawled out sounds that you tried to repressed echoed in the air.
erwin chuckled at the mess that you were making, your thighs tensing up as he nudged them away with his knee, a playful smirk on his lips as your walls fluttered on him again and again as his fingers worked harder and faster— ignoring your hold on his wrist as your eyes clenched shut, your lips repeating his name over and over again.
“... win, erwin,” you breathed, holding his wrist as his thumb left your clit for a second before diving back in— feeling your close, “i’m going to— oh,”
“not until i say so,” erwin whispered, holding your jaw again as he rested it upright, “open your eyes for me, i want to see you.”
it was a struggle— his eyes blinding you as well as the ministrations as his knuckles hit your core with a sinister glint on his face, watching your teary eyes beg and close. he didn’t mind that your nails were digging deeper into his skin, probably marking him.
“please,” and then he nodded.
your hold on him trembled as did your shoulders, your breathing hard and heavy as you whined loudly enough for some eyes to go your way but they didn’t pay attention more than a second longer.
erwin chuckled, rocking his fingers inside you, riding out your high as he continued to pump against your limp protests.
his fingers continued to move, snapping you back into reality and away— as you pulled him down, clashing your lips with his to shut yourself up as your second release were close to peak until his finger rubbed on your clit to no ends, tears forming at the corner of your eyes, but erwin paid no attention as your walls fluttered at the added sensation, smiling against your lips as his name became a prayer on your mouth once more.
“please,” you begged, placing soft kisses on his lips and on his chin, “erwin, no more...”
“you can’t do one more?” erwin kissed you back, eyes softening at your begging. he found your lips again, shutting down your whines, “baby, be quiet for me.”
“hmm,” you nodded, gripping him tight.
you felt your high come closer once more, chest panting as he moved deeper, his fingers tantalizing your release with every hard thrust to your core.
you dragged your hand down his chest, to his cock— palming his hard length, enough for erwin to grunt loudly and in return, attacked your neck with sloppy kisses as the tips of your fingers dragged the waistband of his briefs.
“does that feel good for you?” you breathed, kissing his jaw— but his response was neither a verbal one, instead, a faster pace of his fingers, making you grip his wrist tighter.
erwin hissed against your neck, when he felt your fingers play just at his reddening head, wiping away the pre-cum that elicited just from your touch. he flushed his hips against your hand, making you gasp and smile— working your hand on his cock, building enough pressure and friction against his length as he grunted loudly.
the pad of fingers moved agonizingly slow on his length, making him shiver under your touch— and gone in a while as you wrapped your fingers around his cock, teasing him.
“hey! what are you two doing there?” a man asked loudly, making erwin peek from your side, pressing his body to yours, “there’s children around—!”
“wait,” a woman shrieked, moving closer as erwin looked at your fucked-out state, “is that commander—?”
erwin looked at you, zipping your trousers up as he placed your jacket flimsily around your shoulders, making use of your wide shoulders to give you space to fix yourself up.
anger filled you up for a few seconds, annoyance dancing on your eyes and face as it felt so close. it was ready— all it needed were few more uninterrupted seconds and it all came down in an instant with a scowl on your face.
but suddenly, you bubbled out soft chuckles, making erwin look at you, his brows furrowed in confusion but he laughed with you nonetheless. his cheeks were flushed with hot blush, fingers slick and messy as he wiped it on the inside of his jacket before making sure you were all covered.
“can you walk?” erwin asked, pulling you to him, wrapping an arm around your waist. “i’ll clean you up later.”
“hold me up,” you chuckled, wrapping an arm behind him as he held your waist— flushing you against his side.
erwin sheepishly looked back once more, making you hold on to his nape, in a way for him to not actually look back. but alas, it didn’t work.
“that is commander smith,” a man confirmed, his voice ringing loud, as he gasped, “i didn’t know he has a partner!”
both of you chuckled to yourselves, erwin holding you up as he matched his strides with your slower ones. you pushed yourself up, ignoring the mess in your trousers as erwin covered it up.
but not really partners.
like mentioned, real close.

Peace of mind part (1/2)
Tumblr media
Levi Ackerman x Reader
location : (pic)
era : A choice with no regrets ova - season 1
word count : 898
summary : you’re the captain of your own squad, and you have a habit to go spend some time alone in a cabin located near the young recruits quarters. One day, you found Levi there who didn’t mind your company.
themes : deep talks, rain, maybe new beginnings, feelings development (on your side at least), slight interest from Levi’s side if you squint hard enough.
You were a also a scout when Levi got enrolled by Erwin. Like everyone else, you were both surprised and intrigued by this man : he joined the military forces at an odd time, had the audacity to show disrespect to his superiors, but most of all, what was bewildering was his already acquired set of skills. From hand to hand combat to ODM maneuver, he was by far a rare breed. Outragedly reserved, mysterious, and with a seemingly inhuman force, this man never failed to impress without even trying, and all of the scouts -you included- couldn't do anything but stare at him in awe. From where all of you stood, you were mere humans with limitations, but this man of short-stature, seemed to have wings that stretched beyond this world.
You never quite interacted with him, as the majority of the time, he was with his two friends? family? you weren’t sure how to call them but you knew there names : Church and Magnolia. You never knew what the connection between them actually consisted of, but the only thing you knew, was that their bond was extremely strong, Levi looked like a protective brother to the two of them, especially to the flamboyant red-haired young woman. You were positive she was very young compared to Levi, and what he exhibited was more of a big brother's affection, even so, you couldn't help but feel a little tug at your heart every time you caught him ruffling Isabel Magnolia's hair with a silent affection, but you always brushed that intrusive feeling aside, quickly.
----
A decade after Levi lost Church and Magnolia in that horribly gruesome expedition you heard of, both you and Levi had graduated by that time, and were now respected veterans. There was this one place you would always go to to seek refuge when you'd want some peace and clarity of mind, or just to breathe some fresh air -if there was any inside the walls- before going back to your quarters. One time you climbed the stairs to this favorite location of yours and found Levi, absent-mindedly staring at the sky. He never climbed here before, at least you thought, and the first time this happened, you were about to turn heels and leave him alone, but you quickly heard him calling you and asking you what business you had to do in here, you answer was short, concise but honest.
“Just seeking some peace of mind”. You'd swear he appreciated your honesty and by the look on his face, he almost seemed pleased by your answer.
“I'll go back now, have a good evening captain”
“Oi, why are you leaving? Isn't this the place you come to for some “peace of mind” ? “Yes, but you're here now” you replied in a quiet yet steady voice. “And i'm ruining the view for you” ? He asked looking at you nonchalantly. Even though his tone was sarcastic, his eyes pressed you for an answer. “No, I don't want to disturb you that’s all.” “You're not disturbing me” he said, his body still facing your way but his eyes were back scrutinizing the sky now, his tone was soft, he meant it. “Besides, i'm the one barging in apparently” he added. This last bit was laced with sarcasm, but he was looking directly at you now, and you could tell it wasn't meant to be mean, you knew the captain enough to know how he interacts with people.
“Well then" you said to yourself before stepping in the cabin, the wooden floor squeaking under each one of your heavy-booted steps. You got next to the captain, leaving a calculated distance between the two of you, as any closer would have seem disrespectful, odd, to say the least. Levi Ackerman's personal space seemed to expand beyond one’s average. He was always guarding himself, but he projected a softer presence right now in the cabin, and you thought maybe the location calmed him too.
Even though there wasn’t a lot of years separating you two in age, there was always a lingering shyness that got you every time you were around him. No one can deny Levi Ackerman had an aura that commanded respect everywhere he went, and giving you permission to stay with him felt like you have been granted the honor to come closer to a majestic creature, only a few people had the chance to approach, at least without a valid reason, Levi hated small talk, empty talk, any kind of talk that wasn’t necessary really, little did you know the confessions this cabin was about to bring out. “The view is not bad from this muddy cabin.”He said, taking in the sky with his eyes, looking at the intense colors painting the most beautiful of sunsets. “But looks like it's going to rain” he pointed out as the colors quickly started fading with the sun, darker shades engulfing the entire cabin.

peach fuzz, he can’t even grow it
Tumblr media
↬  Pairing: Levi Ackerman x Reader
↬  Word count: 2.3k
↬  Synopsis: Four words. Levi with facial hair.
Tumblr media
Cream white clouds floated above as the wind breeze gently pushed them. Trees were in full blossom and flowers were pushing through the earth. The market was lively, with merchants continuously and incessantly shouting in attempts to advertise their goods whilst the townspeople roamed around, perhaps window shopping. A group of children were playing tag, which caused a disturbance as they ran around bumping into other people. As always, some soldiers from the Military Police would huddle together—slumped on top of crates—as they talked and drank booze all day. How you wish you could spend your days lounging around without a care in the world. Alas, since you are a part of the Survey Corps, that dream would never come true.
“(____). . .” your partner started, pulling you out of your thoughts. You hummed in response, eyes momentarily gazing at the male walking beside you. It was none other but the ever so stoic captain, Levi Ackerman, your loving boyfriend for five months. His raven hair locks swayed ever so slightly with each step he took. He looked soft, if it wasn’t for his cold silver eyes glaring at every male who dared to look at you longer than he would’ve like
“What is it, captain?” you teased, fully aware that it irked him when you call him by his title and not by his name. A smirk donned on your face as you heard him click his tongue.
“Let’s pass by the Bill’s tea shop. I heard they were giving out discounts,” Levi uttered, choosing to ignore your teasing rather than chewing you out for it.
“Sure, why not? We are kind of low on tea leaves anyway,” you responded. Earlier that day, Levi invited you to go with him for a stroll around the market place. It was his own way of asking you out on a date. After countless restless weeks full of paperwork and meetings, Levi thought that a walk on the town would ease both of you and take your mind off of work for once and focus on him.
Levi looked at you from his peripherals ever so often, making sure that your dumbass wouldn’t get lost in the middle of the crowd. He took note of the way your eyes shone as your intertwined your hands with his. You would hum a tune ever so often, and the skip to your step signifies that you are in a joyous mood. Who wouldn’t? After all, you get to have some alone time with the captain.
The door creaked open as both of you walked inside the small shop. “Ah! Captain Levi!” Bill cheered as soon as he saw the male. Levi gave him a short nod in acknowledgement.
“I figured that you would soon visit my shop. So I saved some black tea leaves,” the shop owner informed, his excitement evident. Which is to be expected. Despite Levi’s cold demeanor and harsh rumors, people can’t help but be amazed and idolize the so called “Humanity’s strongest soldier”.
You detached your hand from Levi’s as you wandered aimlessly around the store, admiring the jars full of tea leaves that adorned the shelves of the shop. Your boyfriend eyed you for a moment before striking a conversation with the shop owner, eager to get the discount he heard.
Levi hummed in delight as Bill twisted the cap of the metal container. The delightful scent of black tea flooded his nostrils. One of the perks of being captain that Levi found himself relishing in is the increased pay grade. In certain occasions (such as this), he likes to spend more than his monthly expenses to treat himself.
    “How much?”
“Since you are a regular customer of mine, I would give you a thirty percent discount,” the shop owner replied. With that said, the male fished inside his satchel in hopes to find the sack full of coins.
“Captain Levi. . .” Bill trailed off as Levi counted the coins, making sure that he pays the exact amount. He hummed in response, eyes focused.
“It really amazes me how despite your old age, you still look rather youthful,” the shop owner commented. Levi snapped his eyes towards the male almost immediately, brows furrowing in a deep scowl. What does he mean by that?
Unfazed, the shop owner continued. “Why don’t you try and grow a beard? Ladies love men with beards, if I do say so myself.”
With that, Levi glanced at you examining the shelves. A thought crosses his mind. Would it really attract you more if he had facial hair? Levi knew that you weren’t shallow and superficial when it comes to physical features. He was aware that you would love him no matter how he looked. Despite that, he can’t help but recall one instance wherein you complimented Mike. Informing the blond that his moustache really suited him.
Or that one time when you playfully rubbed your palms against Erwin’s stubble. Giggling at the friction that tickled you. Levi pressed his lips to a thin line as he placed the money on the counter. He said nothing as he twisted the cap close and grabbed the metal container.
“(____). Let’s go,” he called. Your ears perked up at Levi’s voice, then you skipped your way towards the male. His heart softened at the sight of your cheery face. Levi found himself leaning in to kiss you, but then was quickly reminded that both of you were in a public space. He cleared his throat, facing away from you and heading towards the door.
“Come back again, Captain!” Bill exclaimed a little too lively. You bid farewell to the shop owner before jogging up to Levi, who was already outside.
“Sheesh. You could’ve said goodbye. He really admired you, you know?” you playfully nudged Levi to the side. He clicked his tongue but made no response to your comment. Levi’s mind run wild with thoughts as he continuously darted his attention from you and the road. Would you really like it if he changed up his looks? Impatience biting at him, the male finally decided to ask you.
“(____),” Levi started in which you hummed in response. “Beards. Do you like them. . .?”
You staggered behind, caught surprise by his question. “Come again?”
Levi clicked his tongue, increasing in pace as he walked ahead of you. His cheeks burned in heat and the tips of his ears turned bright red. He can’t believe that he would be insecure in such a miniscule detail. Nonetheless, maybe he could try it out to see your reaction.
Tumblr media
Over the next few days, you took note of the stubble adorned the features of your beloved boyfriend, which perplexed you. Levi was known to shave weekly, stating that he likes to keep himself looking clean. The male made sure that no stray hair would be seen growing on his face. Yet there he was sitting in front of his desk, patches of hair evident on his upper lips and chin.
Levi sat quietly whilst reading the paperwork before him, taking a sip from his cup of tea ever so often. You eyed him cautiously, taking your eyes off of the book you hold. The deafening silence irritated you. You wanted to ask him about the change in his looks, but decided to go against it. Suppose he was just too busy doing paperwork and training the cadets that he had little to no time in shaving his face. Yeah, it was just the lack of time. Maybe he would shave it later.
But hours, turned into days. And days turned into weeks. Still, Levi did not shaved. By now, you are convinced that your boyfriend is trying to grow a full beard. With weak attempts, mind you. Seeing as there are patches on his skin wherein there were no facial hair on sight. Suppose it was his own feeble attempts in styling, but given that he had no experience in it. Levi’s facial hair looked wonky and unkempt, much to your amusement as well as Hange’s.
Hange snorted from beside you, stretching her legs as both of you watched the man barking orders at the cadets. “Looks like shorty is trying on a new style.”
You pursed your lips and hugged your knees close to your chest. “I don’t know what has gotten into that mind of his.”
The brunette tore her gaze of the captain to look at you. “Kinda suits him, don’t you think?” she nudged you lightly.
“Only if he knows to style it well! Look at his face!”
Your comment made Hange roared with laughter, her hand slapping her knee as she tried to calm down. Snickering alongside the brunette, you can’t help but join her seeing as her laughter was contagious.
Levi furrowed his eyebrows in a deep scowl as yours and Hange’s boisterous cackle reached his ears. He tore his gaze off the cadets for a moment, to shoot both of you an ice cold glare. Much to his dismay, the two of you were too caught up with laughing to notice him. Levi shook his face, folding his arms across his chest as he chose to ignore the noise.
Little did he know, you would pester him about it later.
By the time nightfall came, the mess hall was rowdy. Eren and Jean, as per usual, were bickering and borderline ready to start a full blown fight if it weren’t for Mikasa coaxing Eren to stop. Sasha, as expected, gulped down her food in an instant, and is now stealing other’s rations. Seems like it was now a daily routine in the mess hall.
You munched down your bread, Hanji by your side. The brunette chatting away with Erwin, who sat across the table from her. They were mostly talking about the failed expedition last time, and were now brainstorming on what they could do to improve the formation. Occasionally, you would utter suggestions here and there, in which Erwin nodded in acknowledgement.
Strangely enough, you don’t see Levi anywhere, which worried you. That means that the male is caging himself inside his office once again. Possibly going over the mountain of paperwork which opted him to skip meals. You sighed as you stood up, an action that caught both of your friends’ attention.
“I’m going to fetch Levi in his office,” you informed, leaving the mess hall without waiting for their reply. Luckily, his office was close by. Just a couple of halls down, a sharp turn to the right, and the second door to the left. You had practically memorized the way to his room, after a myriad of times dragging Levi out to eat.
You made no attempt to knock at the door, given that the male gave you permission a long time ago to come inside his office anytime you want. You sucked in a breath, ready to scold Levi about skipping meals. But was cut short when his empty chair greeted you.
You blinked, slightly tilting your head to the left in confusion. If Levi wasn’t here, where was he?
As if on cue, you heard noises coming out of his private bathroom. As silently as you could, you tip-toed towards the door and leaned your ear towards it. You heard him muttering a string of curses followed by the sound of metal clashing with porcelain. Slowly, you pushed the door open.
There stood Levi in all of his glory, angrily glaring at the mirror before him as he attempt to style his facial hair for the umpteenth time. You suppressed a snort, but failed miserably.
Levi’s eyes instantly darted towards yours, his cheeks heating up in embarrassment since he was caught in the act. “What?”
“What do you mean what? What are you doing?” you leaned your weight on the wall, a smug look on your face.
If looks could kill, you would probably be dead by now given by the way Levi looks at you menacingly. You took note of the way the tips of his ears turned beet red.
“Are you trying to grow a beard?” you sauntered towards him. Levi sighed through his nose, hands ruffling his raven hair.
“Thought you might like it,” he weakly muttered. Seeing Levi in such a weak state was rare. Considering that he would never show such demeanor when with others, but since you are his beloved, he was comfortable enough around your presence that he could relax.
“Awwee, babe!” you threw your arms around his neck, making sure to pepper his cheeks with kisses. Levi’s arms found its way around your waist, grip tightening as he buried his face in your neck. A chuckle emanated from you as you had finally understood his actions. As if reading his mind, you eased his worries that plagued the back of his mind for weeks.
“You don’t have to grow a beard. You’re already manly and intimidating enough.”
Levi scoffed, pulling back to press a kiss to your temples.
“Besides. . .” you trailed off, cupping both of his cheeks. Your thumb rubbing against his facial hair. “You’re already handsome.”
Levi was taken aback when you rubbed your cheeks against his, relishing the rough friction that his facial hair gives. Your comment, however, made his cheeks flush a deeper red.
“What are you doing?” he said through squeezed cheeks.
“I like the feeling of stubbles, hehe. It tickles.”
After a couple of seconds, you stopped with your actions, finally staring deep into his eyes. “Want to know a secret, Levi?”
He hummed, leaning his forehead against yours, capturing your lips in a sweet but short kiss.
“Do you know that facial hairs are known to have traces of bacteria that are found commonly in feces? Hange told me earlier.” you joked. Levi froze, then went silent. You watched in amusement as the color drained from his face, slowly digesting your words.
Suffice to say, Levi shaved the next day, vowing that he would never attempt to grow a beard again.

laughter of youth.

Tumblr media
Paperwork after paperwork after all the paperwork...
Levi had come to dread the sound of hasty footsteps pacing up to his wooden office door and its prolonged creak as Miss Four Eyes allowed themselves in carrying yet another pile of experiment reports, barely containing their unreasonable excitement. While they fervently sought the tiniest free space to fit the monstrosity held in their arms, their flow of Titan anatomy ramblings never ceased.
Levi, you won’t believe what Eren managed to do today...!
Victor - who the hell is Victor? - stood awake the whole night and was as energetic as ever in the morning! This new breed of Titans is quite interesting!
I keep naming these Titans and I won’t shut up already and I should slap myself before you kick me across the fields, Levi! - he couldn’t possibly describe the joy these words would bring him coming out of Hange’s mouth. Too good to be true, unfortunately.
He shifted into his chair, straightening his back and shaking off the annoyance that had been constantly pulling on his nerves for three days already.
Thankfully, his office was quiet and the hallway was blissfully empty. Hange had taken a day off from experiments to let Eren rest. On that note, Jean and Eren had stopped arguing for once, Sasha had ceased her relentless search of meat and he could finally relish in the silence surrounding him. It wasn’t often that he got to have such quiet moments to himself.
And because they were so rare, only when he got the chance to savor them did he realize how much he actually hated them.
It wasn’t that he disliked being alone - on the contrary, he loved solitude a little too much for his own good. Instead, he found that whenever he allowed his mind to rest, he was assaulted by intrusive thoughts and memories that he’d rather bury deep in the back of his consciousness. Perks of being a soldier.
His eyes took in rows and columns of observations on the papers in front of him. His hand signed each and every one of them away promptly, yet his mind was drifting, conjuring up crimson fields, disgusting Titan flesh sliced in half, the blood-curdling screams of soldiers trampled off their horses or chewed to their demise. Nothing he wasn’t used to. However, that didn’t mean it didn’t make his skin crawl sometimes.
He thought back to commander Erwin, weak and thinning, laying in a hospital bed with only an arm left. Levi knew his superior was a strong man; he didn’t worry much about his recovery. What did plant the seed of doubt in his heart was the fact that somehow, the man he’d thought nearly invincible had been so badly wounded, and that alone was a strong indicator of the deep shit they all were in.
And of course, the one member in his squad that had never returned from the battlefield hung dark and heavy over his consciousness, a shadow of guilt, the same damn story repeating itself over and over again. No matter how much he tried to avoid it, it came crawling back like an awful nightmare, looming over him along with the deaths of all the other people he has trusted and cared for. Isabel and Farlan, Petra, Eld, Günther, Oruo… and now them too.
I won’t die on you, sir!
Like hell you won’t.
Their promise rang in his ears as if trying to mock him. The shadows of his consciousness sneered at him: look what happens when you decide to trust people, you twerp. Should’ve known better. Haven’t you learned your lesson?
“Tsk.” He set the cup he’d mindlessly lifted back on his desk. The tea had gone cold. He’d have to ask someone to brew him another. Not exactly pleasant, but enough to distract him from the dark path his thoughts had gone onto.
Before he could even stand up from his chair, though, loud voices boomed from downstairs through the whole hideout and caused the floor beneath his feet to vibrate. They were followed by clattering of pots and Jaeger’s unmistakable yelling, obnoxious and over dramatic as always.
So much for his quiet moment.
With an exasperated sigh, Levi picked up his cup again and left his desk and the piles of papers behind, shaking off the last of his melancholy. These damn brats can’t get anything done without wrecking havoc first…
The kitchen was right beneath his office, so all he had to do was climb down the short flight of stairs, put the cadets back in their place, ask horseface to brew him some more tea and go back upstairs. Simple enough.
He came to the sight of Eren, Jean, Mikasa, Armin, Sasha and Connie all hunched around in a compact group, chattering loudly and all over each other. Historia’s dulcet tone surprisingly prevailed amongst deeper voices, although she was nowhere to be seen.
“Wait! You need bandages before anything else! The gash in your side isn’t looking good…”
“Yeah! You’ve literally been through hell and back!” Jean marvelled.
“No, guys! They need food!” Sasha exclaimed as if she'd made a grand discovery, grabbing a half-boiled potato straight out of the pot.
“Sasha, no! The potatoes aren’t done yet-”
“Oi, what the hell is going on here?!”
“C-Captain Levi!” Jaeger stumbled back on his feet, broom in his hands, his headscarf sitting askew on his head. The huddle immediately dispersed, everyone had gone dead silent. Levi scanned the room quickly, not paying much attention to the soldiers’ faces and rolled his eyes.
“I thought I told you to clean up the kitchen, not turn it into a pigsty!” He passed a critical hand over the table, gathering up the dust in his palm and making a grimace. Cleaning supplies, pots and cups were scattered all over the floor and the table, as if the cadets had all come to a mutual agreement of dropping everything at once just to see how many white hairs Levi would gain in his hair.
“B-but-”
“Get back to work and stop yelping, you’re turning my brain into mush.”
But before he could open his mouth to bark another order at Jean, his eyes finally landed on who was once the centre of the huddle: Historia Reiss holding on to a hunched figure’s arm, obviously attempting to provide support, but ending up resembling more of a lost puppy clinging to someone’s sleeve.
“Captain Levi!” the petite girl exclaimed, a hint of relief present in her voice, “I-I went to get water from the fountain and I found them there! They seem stable, but I think they might need a doctor-”
His thoughts were running at light’s speed, yet he couldn’t get his body to wake up from its frozen state at the bottom of the stairs. What must’ve only been seconds felt like hours. As if time had decided to finally slow down, to finally stop the nonsensical blurry of days, months, years passing by only to give him a chance to breathe. A chance to understand. Was it just too good to be true?
“Captain…?” Springer trailed off, eyes bulging out of his little bald head, and quickly recoiled as Jean subtly elbowed him in the stomach. Only then did Levi notice that he had been standing among the shattered porcelain of what used to be his teacup, his hand still hanging in the air as if clinging to the ghost of the object.
The cadet finally raised their eyes from the floor, face bloodied and battered, yet still brightened by youth and devotion.
“Captain Levi… sir.” They saluted in a weak voice, raising two fingers to their temple.
Their last name rolled off Levi’s lips in a stronger tone than he thought he’d manage, yet still trailed off a bit in disbelief. Clearing his throat, he stepped over the broken porcelain.
“So. You came back, huh?” Out of all the words piled up on the tip of his tongue, begging to spill out, the best he could come up with was a rhetorical question. But the soldier still let out a dry chuckle, straightening their back as much as their wounds allowed them to. Their legs wobbled and the Ackerman girl, who had been quietly watching from the sidelines, immediately jumped in to offer extra support. Seeing the usually stone-faced Mikasa’s facial expression filled with a flurry of emotions similar to those churning in his heart allowed him to relax a bit.
“Of course.” The wounded cadet answered. “I made a promise, didn’t I?”
Levi gave a slight nod, features stoic, yet he felt his heart grow with pride in his chest. The same glint of determination glowed in their eyes as it did back then, during their rookie days, when they had placed their fist over their heart and had sworn to stay alive. He had heard the same promise come out of so many of his dead comrades’ mouths that realistically, he shouldn’t have expected this particular soldier to honor it. Yet for some reason, unknown even to himself, he had chosen to place his fragile trust in them. Maybe it had been their thirst for revenge, or their sheer willpower which, dare he say, could surpass Eren’s; whatever it had been, he did not regret it.
He drew closer, steps light as feathers on the wooden floor and took advantage of their hunched position to card his fingers through their hair, ruffling it affectionately. These damn kids keep getting taller… he thought bitterly to himself. The gesture managed to transform their wince of pain into a look of total and innocent wonder. The look in the eyes of a kid who's just got the utmost gesture of validation from a parent.
“You’re a good kid,” he conceded, patting their scalp twice before letting his hand fall back to his side. He could barely recognize the gentle tone of his own voice. “Although were you not wounded, I’d have roundhouse kicked your ass for scaring everyone like this.”
The phrase hadn’t even been that funny, in his opinion, but they let out a joyous, loud laugh, contagious to the people around them. It even pulled a chuckle out of Mikasa.
And as he stood there in the kitchen, surrounded by the laughter of youth, he finally understood. Placing his trust in these kids, fighting alongside them, protecting them with the price of his life were worth all the risks because they were humanity’s last hope. And he would do anything to one day see their joyful faces wiped clean of crimson wounds and dirt and death. Anything.

hey i saw your requests are open and i have the BIGGEST dad levi brainrot rn, can i request Levi and Reader in a long term relationship, reader’s sibling has a newborn kid and reader takes care of the kid and Levi sees how motherly reader is being, how would he react? i’m curious about what you think!
AN:  Ohhhhhh I love some Dad!Levi, I’ve got at least two or three fic ideas with eventual Dad!Levi, so it’ll be good to dip my toe into the waters a little earlier than I otherwise would have :D  I had these two little short scenes almost immediately come to mind when I read this and while I was at work, and its the first thing I started to do when I got home :D  Thank you for the request--I don’t get many <3
Plus, I think everyone needs some happy fluff after the two story whammies I just delivered XD
Fanfic One-Shot Request is below the cut.
~*~Different Kinds of Gifts~*~
*Levi’s POV*
He was midway through his day, finished with his daily cleaning routine (besides his own room) and finished with helping with morning training.  He was giving himself a bit of a break, and by break, he meant he was going to spend a few hours in his office doing paperwork.
When he opened the door to his office, he was met with an unexpected sight.
It wasn’t the same office that he used to have--once the two of you had solidified your relationship as a serious one and started practically living with one another, Erwin had moved the two of you into a larger space that was more like a small apartment than a simple office and bedroom.  The main front room was still his office, but it doubled as a living room as well, with a couch, fireplace, bookshelves, and lounge chairs taking up a portion of the room off to the side, though Levi’s desk and workspace was still center, and a straight shot from the front door with nothing in the way.  Instead of one branched off room there were three--the bedroom, of course, off to the right, as well as a washroom and a small private kitchen whose doorways were along the left wall.
Practically the lap of luxury by Scout standards.
However, right now the little sanctuary you two shared was occupied by more than just you.
Levi paused just in front of the doorway, his hand still on the doorknob and the door hovering open just a crack as he processed the sight in front of him.
You were sitting on your usual spot on the couch, somewhere he actually knew to look for you whenever he needed to find you.  However, in your arms was a small, carefully wrapped bundle, tiny arms hanging free and moving involuntarily around in the air, coming to curious stops whenever they collided with your chest, neck, or chin, little fingers curling instinctively against the human being they found.  A small face of soft and not-yet defined features was peeking out from the bundle, the cloth wrapped around its head like a snugly fitting cloak, and its eyes were open, staring widely at your face as you peered down at the babe with a soft smile, a mouth that could probably be covered by the pad of his finger working as if it was trying to copy the sounds you were making as you spoke softly to the little one.
For a moment, Levi was just...confused.  What were you doing with a baby in his office?  Where had the baby even come from?  He was pretty sure that whole thing about storks coming to deliver swaddled babies to expecting parents was an out for parents who weren’t ready to have the babies talk.
He was pretty sure.  The sudden appearance of a baby in your arms made him doubt for a couple of moments.
With the initial surprise passing, Levi shut the door behind him much more quietly than he initially would have, though you had already looked up by now to see him entering the room, that soft smile still on your face.
“Hey--didn’t expect to see you for a couple more hours, at least,” you said, as if it wasn’t noteworthy that you had a baby in your arms.
“Paperwork--what’s with the...”
Levi was dismissive about why /he/ was here, considering he was much more interested in why the /baby/ was here.  You only chuckled at his confusion, though, one of your fingers brushing against the baby’s little cheek and making the baby try and look to see what touched them, eyes following the finger as it traced lazy circles in the air in front of the baby’s face.
“You know how my sister had her baby the other week?” you said pointedly, and the pieces clicked into his mind.  Ah, /that’s/ what was going on.  Babysitting.
“I thought their boy already had a reputation for his lungs,” Levi said wryly, moving over to his desk and taking off his jacket, draping it carefully over the back of the chair for the time being until he was ready to put it back on and get back to work /outside/ his office.
“Oh, believe me, he does--he came here screaming and crying and people kept checking in to see what the hell was going on,” you said with a chuckle.  “But we got pretty well acquainted.  He seems to like me, now.  Don’t tell my sister, though--she’ll want to know what my secret is.”
“What is your secret?  They were having a rough time getting him to quiet down,” Levi remarked as he took a seat, remembering the tired circles under your sisters eyes the last time he’d seen her and how she’d been running through an exhaustive list of what they’d already tried to calm their newborn son down.
You shrugged.  “There is none.  I guess I just have a gift for it,” you said with a twinkle in your eye, turning your attention back to the newborn as he seemed to be burying his face in your chest.  “Hey, that’s not going to give you any food, I’m not your Momma!  Where’s that bottle.”
“Hey, hands off, those are mine,” he grumbled at the baby as he pulled a stack of papers towards him.  You shot him a look which he returned with the ghost of a smile flickering across his face, a bit of amusement in his eyes as he kept track of your movement through the office and apartment as you sought out the bottle to feed him.
Levi’s attention turned back to the paperwork he was planning on doing once his curiosity had been satiated, a relative silence falling over the room.  For the most part.  There was the occasional noise from the baby that got to eagerly suck on the warm milk after you’d disappeared briefly into the kitchen to heat up the milk.  You walked in slow, directionless lines around the room, wandering around to keep the baby entertained and in motion while you fed him, and a few minutes afterwards when you burped him (Making sure there was no mess left behind, of course), and as you simply hummed or talked to him, finger brushing against his lips, or his ears, or his cheeks, just giving him little reassuring touches until one of his hands curled around your fingers.  The smile you had when that happened was heart-melting, even if you had prompted it by letting your finger brush against the baby’s tiny hand, and it might have been a reflex more than anything else.
It wasn’t long before the baby was sleeping, but instead of laying him down on, say, the bed in the bedroom, you simply brought out a crescent moon pillow from the stash in the bedroom your sister had apparently given you while you were babysitting, and sat on the couch.  There you cradled the baby closely to you, mostly laying him on the pillow so he was securely held to you and you wouldn’t have to keep a hold of him with your arms, though they rested around him along the rim of the pillow.  Once he was safe and secure, you leaned your head back and closed your eyes, letting out a soft sigh and slipping off into a light sleep, something Levi could tell by the sound of your breathing.
The entire time, his attention kept getting drawn off the paperwork in front of him, watching you out of the corner of his eyes so you wouldn’t catch him, gaze following you as you paced around the room, watching how you interacted with the baby that seemed so content in your arms.  Now that you were asleep, he gazed more openly, even putting the pen down for a few moments with his arms lying loosely in front of him on the table, a small smile curling across his lips as he watched you and the baby sleeping soundly, the peaceful silence in the room somehow warmer than the sun outside.
Tumblr media
A few days later, and the sight of you with your sister’s baby still hadn’t left his mind.
Currently, the image was plaguing him as the two of you stole some time for yourselves, the door to the apartment/office locked, with you sitting properly on the couch and Levi stretched out along the couch, his head in your lap as you gently threaded your fingers through his hair in a relaxing, soothing manner, allowing him to relax and stew in his own thoughts as he gazed up at you.
He was thinking about that peaceful moment when he’d watched you after you’d fallen asleep with the baby situated securely within your arms on the pillow.  He thought about that warm smile and the bright look in your eyes, how quickly the baby had taken a liking to you, how you’d said you had a gift for it.  He was looking at you in the present, but his mind was projecting an image that had been slowly solidifying in his mind since that day, of what it would be like, what it would feel like.
“What if we had a baby?”
You blinked, thrown off by his sudden question as you looked down at him in your lap, your hand pausing halfway through his hair.  “What?”
His cheeks colored with a light blush as he realized he’d just blurted that out loud without any context or explanation, just dropped it on you without warning.  “Not right now, there’s too much risk, but...eventually.  What if we had a baby?  When this is over?”
Your eyes were wide with surprise, lips moving without words coming out as if you were seeking for the right thing to say.  Suddenly, he got worried he’d somehow said the wrong thing, that he’d simply assumed, that he’d let his little fantasies run away with him without stopping to see what you thought about it.
“Unless...you don’t want kids,” he said, quickly trying to retreat and take back his blurted out question, already mentally kicking himself for springing this on you.
“No, I...I think I do, some day, I just...wasn’t expecting to be talking about it right now.  Honestly, I thought I was going to be the one to bring it up, not you,” you said with a slight laugh, hand running much more tenderly and intentionally this time through his hair to soothe him and any worries your hesitation had caused him.  “I do.  I’d love to have a child with you one day, Levi,” you promised him quietly.
Levi took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, closing his eyes to conjure up that mental image of you holding a child you’d had with him, that same warm look in your eyes--no, warmer.  Sparkling.  Like they were right now as you promised to have a child with him.
“One day...” he agreed in a low murmur.

5:00 am
You had plans to send Levi to his grave. How dare he wake you up at like four in the morning only to start your makeup and hair an hour later? The makeup and hair team were completely respectful towards you and respected your space, considering today was going to be full of emotions.
As your face was getting beat, there was a knock at the door. The makeup artist working on your face stopped so that you could address the person at the door. "If your name is Levi, don't bother coming in," you say. The door opens and your heart jumps because
Her Royal Highness Princess Historia and her girlfriend, Ymir, were in YOUR room.
"Oh sh*t, Your Royal Highness," you let out. Members of your team start to curtsy and bow to Historia. Ymir stands awkwardly behind her. She must have been getting used to the royal bs around her.
You stand to curtsy as well but Historia raises a hand to stop you. "Today is all about you. Ymir and I are going to be your bridesmaids today! Levi called us and we decided we would support you today!" she says cheerfully.
So, Levi probably wasn't going to die today. Now, you couldn't bring yourself to be mad at him but you still side eyes him. He was a powerful guy- you were still under the impression that he said something to Mikasa during the show and caused her unusual behavior.
"O-Oh?"
"Yeah! Ymir and I will get changed but we'll see you in your dress."
And with that, the princess and her girl left your room. It was like a dream.
Tumblr media
5:30 am
Weeks before the wedding came, you went dress shopping. However, it didn't go how you wanted it to go. Ideally, you would be dress shopping with Sasha, Mikasa, and Connie. There was no way in hell you would call Sasha and ask her to go with you. You called Connie, who refused to pick up. You thought about calling Mikasa but you felt uneasy about it. So, Levi and his husband, Erwin, went with you.
Erwin was a complete angel. He asked you respectful questions about your life and even made you laugh. Spending time with Erwin made you realized how...dark Levi was and even made you question why they were even together. But your thoughts couldn't stop you from seeing how Levi melted under Erwin's touch. They loved each other. You hoped that You and Jean would be like that.
With their help, you managed to pick the perfect dress.
Slipping it on for the second time was just as magical as it was the first. Your team awed and cooed over how beautiful you looked. Historia and Ymir entered in matching pink outfits and immediately started fawning over how good you looked.
You felt your face redden up and you couldn't help but smile. But all of that went away when a familiar face entered.
"You...you look good, y/n."
"Mikasa...what are you doing here?"
Mikasa was standing in front of you in the same pink color that Ymir and Historia were in but her outfit was a sleeveless wide-legged jumpsuit. Her bangs were brushed away from her face and the rest of her hair sat behind her ears- well, mostly.
"Levi called me. He apologized for everything and told me to come over to apologize to you too. And then he forced me to be your maid of honor," Mikasa explained.
Levi forcing her to come over sounded like him but apologizing? He must have realized he went too far, especially since Mikasa was his niece. Levi was too caught up in creating and entertaining drama that he probably forgot Mikasa's relation to him.
So, you decided to let everything go.
You walk towards Mikasa with arms open and she's shocked but she doesn't hesitate to envelop you in her arms are well.
"I'm so sorry, y/n. I know was so out of line. I'll never let any man get in the way of our friendship again," Mikasa said as she squeezed you harder.
"Same here. If things don't work out with Jean, I'll marry you instead," you joke. You can feel Mikasa's laughter vibrate against your neck. She pulls away first and you proceed to ask another question. "Have you been in touch with Sasha?"
Mikasa purses her lips and shakes her head. "She's been radio silent. I can't tell if she got more backlash than me. She's off social media and just unwilling to speak with anyone. The hate probably got to her and she's just hiding for now."
You weren't too surprised. Mikasa was doing a job- a terrible one- but Sasha went out of her way to sleep with one of your guys...but she was drunk. You could imagine Sasha being the most discussed and debated online. Without speaking to her, you wouldn't know what was really going on in her mind.
"Oh! You never said hi to Princess Historia or Ymir. They're my bridesmaids for the day," you point out. The color leaves Mikasa's face when she realizes who's in the room with her. "Sh*t. Your Royal Highness," Mikasa curtsies. Historia lets out one of her signature giggles and begins to introduce herself and Ymir to Mikasa. As that goes on, your team starts helping you with your dress again.
You were slightly glad Mikasa was by your side today. The situation between the both of you was awkward but you were willing to give her another chance.

7:30 am
In the last two hours, you've done photoshoots and chat with everyone around you. Now it was time for Jean to be yours and for you to be his. You did question the early wedding time that Levi gave you but this would probably be the last time you saw that man so let's just let him do what he wants.
You were visibly nervous. You were gripping onto Mikasa's hand like it would be your last time doing so. "Hey, just remember, he's not your real husband. At least for now. This is all show," Mikasa reminds you. She was right. Jean may have been romantic with you but also he got his hour of fame, he could possibly leave you. Maybe he would get married to Connie.
You started to take a few deep breaths as you pulled up in front of the venue. Levi had rented a beach (not the one you and Connie were on) for your wedding.
From what you could see in the car, there were multiple seats and people were filling them up. You hoped that Connie's family had no ill-feeling toward you and decided to show up. It would be a shame since you were caught on television talking about how you would love for them to be there.
Your car came to a slow end. "y/n, do not worry. Remember, THIS is all fake. Only you decide if it's real," Mikasa reminds you. Levi opens your door and offers his hand to you. "It's go time." Mikasa helped you with your veil making sure that it wouldn't hit the ground.
"y/n, I know I may have been a menace but I'm happy for you. You might have had the most popular season yet," he says. Him bringing up ratings was no shock to you. You don't reply and Levi have his moment.
You like to think that Jean would like to spend the rest of his life with you. You knew that wasn't the case with many Bachelorettes and Bachelors but you look at Levi and Erwin...ah well, that wasn't a good example, considering that Erwin wasn't a contestant. He was the previous host. 'CALM DOWN,' you tell yourself, 'YOU AND JEAN WILL BE GOOD. AND IF HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU, ITS WHATEVER BECAUSE I'M THE BEST THING EVER.'
Minutes later, you're at the end of the aisle. Jean has his back turned and he's pacing back and forth slightly. Next to him is Connie. You know this because you recognize his big egg head. You're happy he put everything aside to support the both of you.
Mikasa takes her place in front of you and the music starts. Levi offers you his arm and you take it.
This was really happening.
You looked into the audience with a smile on your face but everything was moving so fast, you couldn't recognize their faces.
Before you knew it, you were by Jean. He still couldn't look at you- not until Levi gave you away. The marriage officiant clears his throat and begins to talk.
"We are gathered here today to witness the union of Jean and y/n. Welcome friends and family! We're glad to have you with us.
Today is the beginning of a remarkable journey for this couple. Drawing on their mutual admiration, respect, and trust, they are ready to embark on the next chapter in their lives. We celebrate the love and light evident in their relationship and wish them well on this joyous occasion.
Who gives this woman away?"
"I do," Levi answers. He takes Jean's hand and places it on top of yours. Jean then moves his under yours so that he could hold it. He looks down at Levi and mouths 'Thank you'. The shorter male nods and takes a seat.
The officiant gives you and Jean a moment to face each other. Jean had the biggest smile on his face when his eyes landed on you. "You look gorgeous," he whispers. "You're not so bad yourself," you reply.
The officiant continues. "If anyone has cause to object to the forming of this union, speak now or forever hold your peace." You look over Jean's shoulder to see Connie. You couldn't see his whole face, thanks to Jean's height, but you could see his eyes. They were narrowed and looking straight at you.
You wanted to feel bad, but you couldn't. YOU decided that Connie would not be your spouse, and that was final.
No one responded to the officiant's request, so he continued.
"Marriage is an integral part of the human tradition. Let us remember, as we stand here before the Universe, that the vows taken today hold great importance, just as they did to our ancestors. As individuals, we choose to enter the union of marriage to share all aspects of ourselves with our soulmate. Today, this is true for Jean and y/n."
Soulmate. You hoped that was true for you and Jean. You did meet him on a tv show.
"There are few greater joys in life than finding someone with whom we truly "click." In that spirit, I will now share a short reading on soulmates from author Richard Bach:
"A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we're pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other. No matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we're safe in our own paradise. Our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction. When we're two balloons, and together our direction is up, chances are we've found the right person. Our soulmate is the one who makes life come to life."
Under the eyes of Ymir, together we take a moment to acknowledge the seriousness of the commitment being entered into today. With great joy, we also recognize the special bond shared by Jean and y/n.."
This...this was a special bond indeed. Not only that, it was completely random. The next part of the wedding was your vows. The next part of solidifying your relationship.
"I will now invite the couple to share their vows. Jean and y/n, the promises you make today are sacred; they are the groundwork from which your marriage will grow and blossom over time.
Jean, would you like to begin first?"
Jean nods and squeezes your hands. "y/n, hopefully by the end of this ceremony, you will be my wife. I know there's a lot that you're worried about but I'll do everything to make you happy. I'll always protect you and keep you satisfied."
"y/n, your turn."
"Jean. I'm not too sure what to say...you've out-speeched me," you joke. Jean chuckled. "But...I too promise to love and protect you. I'll also make sure we're on the same page because that's very important for our relationship. I'm willing to fight for us."
You look at the officiant, letting him know that you were done.
"Let us proceed. Jean, before your family and friends, do you take y/n as your beloved Wife, to have and to hold, through laughter and in sadness, through challenges and successes, so long as you both shall live?"
Jean is silent for a moment. He's rubbing the back of your right hand and staring straight into your eyes- almost as if he was reevaluating everything. This made you nervous. Jean was a smart guy. You know you couldn't hold him down and force him to do anything he didn't want.
"I...I do," he finally answers. The weight on your chest dissolves.
"y/n, before your family and friends, do you take Jean as your beloved Husband, to have and to hold, through laughter and in sadness, through challenges and successes, so long as you both shall live?"
"Yes, I do," you answer quickly. You hear small laughs coming from the audience.
The officiant gives you a small smile before continuing. "Wedding rings are a traditional symbol of the strength of the bond between two soulmates."  Connie comes from behind Jean with the wedding bands and gave you both one.
"This bond is never broken, and continues in a perpetual circle, glowing with the warmth and eternal light of two souls in a perfect union. By wearing these rings, you will be always reminded of the connection you share and the vows you have made today. Jean, please, repeat after me;
I, Jean..."
"I, Jean..."
"present you, y/n, with this ring..."
"present you, y/n, with this ring..."
"as a symbol of our everlasting love."
"as a symbol of our everlasting love."
"Let it never lose its luster..."
"Let it never lose its luster..."
"just as my love for you will never fade."
"just as my love for you will never fade."
Jean, still gently holding your hand, slips the ring on (whatever finger your culture uses for weddings!). He can't help but admire it for a moment. He looks back up at you with the biggest grin. All you had to do was place the ring on his finger and your marriage would be "official".
"y/n, repeat after me. I, y/n..."
"I, y/n..."
"present you, Jean, with this ring..."
"present you, Jean, with this ring..."
"as a symbol of our everlasting love..."
"as a symbol of our everlasting love..."
"let it never lose its luster..."
"let it never lose its luster..."
"just as my love for you will never fade."
"just as my love for you will never fade."
You slip the ring onto Jean's left finger.
"By the power vested in me by the Ymir Life Church and Paradis, under the eyes of the Ymir, I happily pronounce you Husband and Wife! Jean, kiss your bride."
At that moment, everyone disappeared. It was just you and Jean. Jean places a hand on your waist and pulls you in. You find your hands riding up his chest and resting on his shoulder as you get closer. You and Jean connect and all of sudden, you're not in that bubble anymore.
"Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time, I give you Mr. Kirstein and Mrs. l/n!!."
Tumblr media
You and Jean left together as "spouses". The first thing you did was official wedding photoshoots that were to be spread all over Paradis and all over the world- thanks to social media. Y'all kinda look like Meghan and Harry tbh.
Anyway.
You both got an opportunity to change in your reception outfits. After that, it was another car ride to the reception venue. Jean held your hand and couldn't stop talking about how beautiful you looked. You were so flustered, you couldn't get a response out. When you reached the venue, the driver helped out first and Jean slipped out of the car after you. He took your hand and entered the reception venue with you.
When you entered the dining hall, you were welcomed by cheers and claps. It was extremely overwhelming- not in a bad sense, however. You looked around the room and caught some familiar faces. You saw Bertholdt and Reiner sitting at a table with another unfamiliar girl. Across the room, Mikasa is seated with Connie, Historia, and Ymir. Everyone else is family that Levi most likely reached out to.
You and Jean take a seat and the cheering calms down. You lean on Jean's shoulder and sigh. The day wasn't over yet, but you were already so tired. Jean places his head on top of yours. "I can't wait to just be with you. I don't know what you had planned tonight but to be honest, I just want to sleep. I haven't realized how tired I was until now," Jean says quietly. "I have to agree. Let's just take a shower, cuddle and just pass out."
Jean brings his head up and smirks at you. "A shower? Together?" You only roll your eyes jokingly. "Oh, look, I think Levi is gonna call us up to have our first dance." "Don't worry, I'll get my answer sooner or later, y/n. You can't run from me." Jean pokes your arm teasingly, which causes you to squirm a little bit. Levi calls you up and Jeans takes your hand to lead you to the dance floor.
(Song of your choice) starts playing and you're not even sure where to start. Jean has a hand on your waist and is holding your free hand. You have a hand on his shoulders. "I'm not even sure where to start, we never practiced," you whisper. Jean smiles softly. "Don't worry about it. We're in this together aren't we?" He begins to move, taking full control. You stumble a bit but your reception dress hides your clumsiness. After a bit, you weren't stumbling anymore. You rest your head on Jean's shoulder and he pulls you even closer. Your movements get even slower. The music slowly disappeared and so did everyone else. It was just you and Jean.
When the music actually came to an end, you pulled away slowly. "You did great," Jean says softly. "So did you." You both go back to your seats. Waiters started to come out and take everyone's orders for dinners and started to pour drinks- meaning a toast would be coming up.
Mikasa comes up to the dance floor and awkwardly clanks her glass, trying to get everyone's attention. Everyone turned their heads and it wasn't because of the awkward clanking of the glass. There were some 'What the hell is she doing here?'s and 'Eren's b*tch?'s. You could visibly see Mikasa's nervousness so you attempted to lock eyes with her. It took her a while but she could finally look you in the eye. Mikasa clears her throat. "Um, hi. You're probably wondering why I'm here but today is not about me. It's about y/n and Jean. I was once y/n's closets friends until I was pressured to do something that I wouldn't normally do." Mikasa gives Levi a side-eye. The shrimp man crosses his arms and rolls his eyes.
"y/n is absolutely amazing...I can't really put it into words but there's something about her that just make people want to be around her. I can see why Jean fought so hard to be with her."
Jean squeezes your hand when she makes that comment.
"I often think to myself about how y/n could have easily met Jean at a café or a movie theatre or something rather than on TV show. But at the same time, this was good for her...and all of us. Here we discovered the lengths of our friendship and who we really were as people. I believe these ups and downs helped y/n find Jean- her true love. Honestly, I wish you both a happy future. Make it worth it."
Mikasa raises her glass and everyone clinks their glass with their neighbors. Connie begins to walk up to the dance floor as soon as Mikasa leaves.
"I'm going to be really honest with you. This is was unexpected. I honestly thought that today was going to be about me." Connie raises his eyebrows at Jean, who furrows them.
"But I guess it's a good thing I didn't marry y/n. I wouldn't have been enough to handle. So, congrats to you, Jean. You're tolerable."
Connie gets off the dance floor without giving you or Jean a look. You look at Jean and he's hurt. "H-hey...maybe he's drunk or something. In his feelings, you know? Don't let him make you feel bad," you say. Jean gives you a small smile before sipping down his drink.
Moments later, it was time for parent dances. Jean got up to dance with his mom. It was a little bit uncoordinated than yours but they looked like they were having a lot of fun.
Next was the bouquet and garter toss. You started with the garter first. You sat in a chair with your legs cross. You knew this was going to happen but it wasn't rehearsed. Jean could see your uneasiness, so he started doing a silly sensual dance. It made you laugh and your laughter got louder once he started shimming down to the floor. He got closer to your thigh and you felt your face heating up. You slapped your hand over your mouth once he starting biting the garter and pulling it off. As he continued, you cupped your face. When Jean was finally day, cheers erupted and you uncovered your hot face. Jean closes his eyes and throws the garter into the crowd and it lands in the hands of Reiner. The guys cheer even louder for him as he awkwardly glances over at Bertholdt, who is a few people away from him.
Next was the bouquet throwing. You closed your eyes and the guest counted you off. Once you heard the number three, you threw the bouquet. You open your eyes and turn around to see that Bertholdt had gotten the flowers. His face is so red...he look like a tomato.
After your guest settled down, it was time to cut your cake, meaning that your wedding day was almost over. You picked a (cake of your choice) for tonight. "It looks delicious. I can't wait to try it," Jean whispers in your ear. "It is. You'll love it," you respond. You pick up a knife. Jean wraps his hands around yours. You both gently place the knife on the cake and pushed it down. You lean back to give Jean a kiss and he gives you one. Jean grabs two forks by the cake and hands one over to you.
Jean scoops a piece of the cake first. He places a hand on your chin and you open your mouth. "Ladies first," he says as he places the cake in your mouth. You take a minute to savor the taste before swallowing. You also take a piece of the cake and get on your toes to feed Jean. He chuckles softly at your struggle before taking the fork from you and feeding himself. "You're right, it's good," he says after swallowing. He bends down slightly to give you another kiss.
Tumblr media
The night was slowly coming to an end. There was no sight of Connie after his stupid speech and Levi and Erwin were getting ready to get home. Historia and Ymir had left right after the cake cutting ceremony but had promised to call you once everything had settled down. You and Jean formally greeted your guest and started your goodbyes.
Mikasa had gone up to you with a slightly awkward face. "Today wasn't so bad, huh?" she starts. You give her a kind smile. "It wasn't. Did you enjoy yourself?" Mikasa pauses to answer. "Your wedding was beautiful...however, I can't get upset over the reaction about me being here. y/n, I have to apologize again. What I did was completely wrong. I shouldn't even be blaming Levi for everything. I could have told you at first and-"
You pull Mikasa into a hug to shut her up. "Mikasa, move on. Come on, we're adults! At least you're apologizing and trying- unlike someone we know," you joke. You pull away. "Hopefully, if Jean and I have a real wedding, it won't be as awkward for you." Mikasa nods. "I'll see you around. Congrats." As Mikasa walks off, Reiner, Bert, and this mystery blonde come up to you. Inside Reiner's pocket is your garter sticking out and Bertholdt is clenching your bouquet.
"Hey," you start," Thank you for coming. Who's your friend?"
Bertholdt looks over at the blonde. "Thank you for inviting us...um...this is Annie. My dad thought you were her."
Now, why did Bertie's dad think you was this yt girl?😟
LMAO. "Nice to keep you, Annie. You Bertie's girl?" you ask.
Annie shakes her head no frantically. "OH, NO. Never in a million years, no. Yuck!" she answers dramatically. Reiner throws an arm over Bert's shoulder. "He's actually my boy now," he says proudly. "OH-! Congrats! So we're having a wedding for you soon, yes?" You tease. Reiner nods and Bertie tries to hide his face in Reiner's hair. "When did this all happen...? I just eliminated you like...two weeks ago?"
"Well...Reiner and I were still in contact and when I left, he reached out to me. We met up a few times and we hit it off," Bertie explains. "Congrats. I'm really happy to hear that," you answer. You turn around to look for Jean. He's talking to his mom. He gives you a small glance before continuing his conversation with her. "I better go catch up with Jean. It was nice to see you...and finally meeting you, Annie." The trio say their goodbyes before leaving.
You make your way over to Jean but you're stopped by the human fit of annoyance- Levi. You were so tired of him but you threw on a smile since Erwin was walking over as well. "Yes, Levi? I thought we were done here," you say in a singsong voice. "Aw, you're ready to go?" Levi says sarcastically. You open your mouth to answer but he cuts you off. "For starters, thank you for adding on to mine and Erwin's paychecks. We really appreciate it. Arrangements for your hotel and honeymoon have been put together. You're tired of me, but don't hesitate to call me if something goes wrong. Besides that, I wish you luck. Make everything worth it."
Levi walks past you and Erwin stops to hug you before following his husband.
Jean makes his way up to you, his mom following behind. "Everything good? I saw shrimp talking to you." You take Jean's hand. "Everything's good." Jean pulls you into a side hug. "Aw, you guys are so cute. I really do hope you last," Jean's mom comments, "I've always wanted a daughter."
"Mom, nothing's official yet-"
"I'm glad you think of me as your daughter, June."
"Well, I'll see you later. Jean, take care of her tonight. Be good to her and listen to her. Don't be rough, she's not a rag doll," June warned her son. She had a finger up in his face and everything. Seeing their relationship on the regular was going going to be hilarious.
Jean swats his mom's finger out of his face before waving her goodbye. He then fully wraps his arms around you. "No offense. But I'm glad this is over. We'll get to know each other one on one now," he says. You can't help but agree.
