Sooooo can we stop discrediting or removing the synth/techno/rock/pop elements that some traditional Scottish musicians use?🫠

I did not just watch a band perform some awesome rock/synth trad music yesterday just for the official recording to strip out all of the rcok/synth to the point where it's now an entirely different genre being shown? That would be a bad idea right? Right??? 😃

#i love a bit of Cèilidh music #don't get me wrong #but so many trsd scottish bands have broken out into the rock/pop space #and yet the representation of their music is poor af #i'm so disappointed because they were awesome yesterday and the recording doesn't do them justice :(#although my faves did thankfully get some better sound quality #even if one of their best songs was cut 🙃#(for context no i am not scottish)#(but i have grown up on scottish music)#(and i stand by the fact that trad music in general needs to be better represented and appreciated)#(looking at you spotify 'fairycore' label)#steph rants
