#ffxiv#endwalker spoilers#bounding frog#6.5 spoilers#my first run of the variant was a little vague in terms of knowing if I'd... varied anything#I only saw 1 thing in the whole run which seemed like a choice??#I know some have random variations per run which you can't affect and just happen so I have to hope that's it#and I just picked wrong to feel like I had any agency :P#anyway unexpected twist (look away if you really want to find out yourself) that this is about Nym and lala deep history#weird intext and metatextual discussions of colonialism to be had though#given it's about an abandoned island with mystical past people and then settled and abandoned again by Nym#also the glam from it is more of the stuff that looks like hippie cultural appropriation style modern fashion#I'm absolutely not the person to talk about any of this since I'm not even educated on any of the parts of the world in question#but I guess if anyone wants a dissertation topic or something :P#in the mean time I'm over here like yay faerie wings#(also ... another she/her faerie from Nym so the they/thems on the First are definitely a culture apart)#(I mean I'm a nonbinary she/her but whatever :P)
