Oh, Husk and Alastor?

Their dynamic is also pretty interesting, they kinda feel like two people who everyone thinks gets along great and are the best of friends. While in reality their friendship is fueled but a fire born from their hatred. They just have many decent moments and have a easy time understanding each other, through they often use that information to serve a selfish endeavor.

Like Alastor would mess with Husk, tease him and Husk would tell Al to get his act together so that he(Husk) doesn't have to deal with some sort of fallout (ref. when Mimzy comes by)

In general, I feel like they do get along really well, but they are in no way friends. Kinda like how you can get along well with your boss, but wouldn't really consider them a friend. And you wouldn't really want them to involve themselves in your life, but that doesn't stop Alastor. (Social conversions? What's that)

This also makes me curious, wonder what kind of dynamic Husk has with Rosie, or rather, how do you think Rosie sees Husk? Just like a pet Alastor has? Or does she actually see the person that is there? (Leaning more towards her not really seeing Husk more than a errand boy or pet of Alastor)

Though it would be fun if the first time Husk meet Rosie he thought that she might actually be willing to help him because she gives of the energy of being a very kind person around people she cares about (aka Alastor). So he tries to talk to her without Alastor present and he finally understands how they get along so well, they are both the same kind of crazy ᵔᵜᵔ

So, um- what are your thoughts on the dynamic between Alastor and Husk?

I saw a theory that Husk had children when he was alive. Keep that in mind, it's a secret tool we wanna use later

So, little bit about Alastor. He is not the guy who owns many souls. In fact, he doesn't own any (well... i have some headcanons, but it's for another time). The only soul he has is Niffty, and she's... she's whole another level.

So one day Alastor get's Husk's soul in posession and he has no idea what to do with him. Their contract is basically "you'll have to do anything i order you" but it doesn't set any boundaries for Husk. So he can insult Alastor, argue with him and so on. The only thing he cant is to try to kill Alastor, but it's obvious.

So, Alastor's just... drags him around, and Husk has to just be there all the time, and watch Alastor do stupid shit without thinking, being manipulated by Mimzy into some shenanigans and so on, because he's too powerful, kinda don't afraid of anything and little bit unhinged. And Husk is trying to be that voice of sanity for Alastor (and maybe Niffty). Like in canon, he tries to warn Alastor about Mimzy nd at some point seems genuinely worried about him. Just a bit. And also, in that scene in final song, when Alastor appears again, Husk doesn't seem happy but still goes for group hug.

I think he sees Alastor as a child he has to babysit, but the child is so spoiled, that he doesn't give a shit about his warnings. Maybe Al reminds him of his own children at some degree. And so Husk is attached to Alastor in some weird unhealthy way, he cares about him and tries to protect, even if it pointless.

The worst part of it is that Alastor doesn't see him more than funny fluffy cat-guy-pet. He almost never takes him seriously and doesn't listen to what he says. So Husk may try to reach out to Rosie, to make her to reason with Alastor. But she's basiclly "i could fix him, but whatever is wrong with him is way funnier". I think she listens to Husk's worries about another Alastor's scheme, but she also trusts Alastor? I mean, she belives that he'll be fine. But if something seems to dangerous, she can agree and talk to Alastor.

After all, Husk was an overlord, and i think Rosie could know him before he made a deal with Alastor. So, i think she doesn't think of Husk as just Al's pet, she knows who he is. After all, not every sinner can become an overlord. But still,

So, last thing. I saw that one comic where after episode 5 Alastor admits that Husk was right about Mimzy and i really love this thought. I think Alastor also likes Husk's presence at some degree. Maybe they could build something healtier, maybe Alastor, after losing part of his powers, would listen to Husk more. But still it's all fucked up while Alastor owns his soul.

And also, i'd really love to see something of just Alastor, Husk and Niffty getting into some shenanigans together, this would be so much fun. Al and Niff who are just 2 unhinged gremlins and Husk who's done with their shit, but still cares about them and can't just leave, and it's not because of the deal. Like i imagine when husk is trying to reason with Alastor that he's about do something stupid and dangerous and Alastor's like well i don't force you to follow us this time, but Husk still goes with them because who else would watch after these two idiots?

So i think, i get your point about them!

I saved it for last because I really am going to answer all the ones I want to answer but haven't yet. Also, I can use it to link all my previous answers! Yay!

I'm putting a cut here because this got ridiculously long (as you can probably imagine).

1. Favorite secondary character

As 'secondary character' was used in this ask game to cover all non-Wilmon characters, I'm going to make a top four:

August because he is, to quote my answer to 21, "easily one of the best-written and best-acted characters in the show. It's rare to see an antagonist with such deep, complex emotions of his own, and casting a sweetheart like Malte to play him was an incredibly successful choice." Personally, I relate pretty hard to his perfectionism, and I also can't help connecting some other stuff about him to someone I know.

[Obligatory disclaimer that this doesn't mean I condone the things he did very wrong.]

Sara because her arc is one of my favourite things in the show and Frida's performance is phenomenal. As with August, I also have a personal point of reference: I too was bullied all through secondary school, and while my experiences weren't as extreme as Sara's, they did leave deep scars and a fundamental feeling of "nobody likes me for real and they never will." So yeah, I do relate to her quite a bit despite not being ND myself.

Henry because he was my inspiration to start writing again after more than ten years. I've always had a tendency to fixate on background characters, and S1 Henry was an intriguing mix of things that felt very foreign to me (his background and political opinions) and things that really appealed to me (his rudeness to Simon vs. kindness to Wille, and of course the vibe that inspired me to read him as ace). I do also enjoy him in the later canon where he is more of a funny mess, but yeah, it's definitely his S1 self I hold the most dear. Also, see everything I wrote about him and Simon here!

And finally, I also want to mention Ayub because he is just a very sweet guy whose friendship with Simon I really enjoy (he does make some mistakes, e.g. by pushing the Marcus rebound, but don't we all). I don't necessarily gush about him much, but I do like him very much. Even tried to write fic from his POV once.

2. Favorite secondary romantic and/or sexual pairing

Out of the canon pairings, Sargust. Their chemistry is amazing, and I love that their romance is absolutely integral to both their character arcs and the show as a whole. I do think they had to stay broken up in S3, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't ship them. I hope they get a second chance later in life when August has grown as a person and things between him and Simon have been resolved as well.

Out of the non-canon (or semi-canon) pairings, I'd say Walty, but I also really enjoy them as a platonic or queerplatonic pair. My ace hc of Henry is strong enough that I don't actually read many fics where they are both allo (although I do have a couple of faves, e.g. Change It And Say which is on my fic rec list linked under question 18).

To start this off, I want to say I'm really coming around to @bluedalahorse's aroallo Fredrika! Her occasionally rosy and perpetually normative ideas of romance certainly do seem very "this is romance, right?" rather than something she has personally experienced.

But as you know... Ace Henry is the hill on which I will gladly lay down my life. It started back in S1, when it felt like everyone else saw sexual attraction from him towards Stella in the exam scene, and I just couldn't. I guess that just sparked something in me and inspired me to put him under an ace lens haha.

I used to think it was just for my own fics, but then when S2 came out, all I could see was more "proof" (most notably, his very "yikes I forgot that hookups were a thing" reaction to Wille and Felice, as well as his fed-up response to Vincent's "advice"). The poor guy just wanted to live his best dorm life and partake in silly traditions to egg Sprucewood and write cringey Valentine's letters, and everyone around him kept making it about sex for some reason.

[Arospec sidebar: Also, his question on how the protagonist in Kris can be in love with someone she doesn't know can easily be twisted into a rather demi thing to say. I sometimes think demiromantic ace would suit him well.]

And yes, I'm aware that Henry implies that he's straight in S3, but that's because a) he hasn't figured himself out yet or b) he's just saying it to mess with the teacher without actually meaning to imply anything. (Or both. This is messy post-S1 Henry so it's probably both.)

This is a tough one because I can like almost any pairing if it makes sense in a specific fic, but that doesn't mean I'm going to like them in every context.

Maybe Stedrika? I never disliked them as a couple, but I did dislike them as individuals and wasn't super interested in their romance when it was introduced in S2. I do like them a lot more now that I've warmed up to Stella. Although I still think it would be more interesting if they broke up in uni and had to get back to being friends so... Yeah, this is a tough one.

9. Favorite non-Edmar actor

Malte, Frida, and Pernilla. They give so much depth and allow us to understand these complex characters, even when they make bad decisions. August, Sara, and Kristina are all very challenging roles, and the actors would have deserved to win some awards for how amazingly they embodied all their different sides.

10. Favorite s1 scene centered on a secondary character

My very favourite one is August's talk with his mother on Parents' Day. There's so much meaning loaded into every line (words and delivery) and every expression. Parents' Day as a whole was when August really clicked into place for me on my first watch, but his altercation with Louise was the crowning moment. It was also a major inspiration for how I wrote his messed-up family situation in Årnäs, February 2016.

My runner-up is the scene where Smysan tries to force Felice into the Lucia dress. It makes me so fucking mad and uncomfortable on every watch.

It's impossible for me to name a single favourite - both because I haven't rewatched S3 much and because there are so many amazing scenes centred on both Sara and August! But my top five (not necessarily in this order) would be 1) Sara and Micke in the car and the subsequent talk with August, 2) August reading his first-year letter to Sara, 3) August and Nils talking about their initiation, 4) Sara's driving exam, and 5) August breaking down at the table and Nils and Vincent comforting him. These are all stellar scenes that tell us so much about the characters involved and their relationships.

Here, I must admit that I haven't read too many fics with subplots focused on the secondary characters. That's because most of those are multi-chapter Wilmon fics, which I haven't read very many of in the last few years. I did read more of them in my early days in the fandom, but I don't think there were any such subplots in those fics that really stuck with me.

However, I did very much enjoy your take on Henry in the dark vampire fic, @willedeservesbetter! His friendship with Simon was wonderful, perhaps my favourite dynamic in the entire fic. His characterisation was also very fitting for the fic, and it really felt like you let him be a character in his own right instead of just Wille's coven member/Simon's friend.

Random question: What specific villains do you headcanon as being on the Isle of the Lost who weren't confirmed to be there (i.e. Prince Hans of the Southern Isles would presumably be on the Isle, as the antagonist of Frozen, although he was never mentioned in any of the movies/books/webisodes)?

Well, to be honest, I don't think anything after Tangled is canonically in Descendants. In fact, I think Frozen, Moana, Raya, Encanto, the Fairies movies, and a few other things, should be counted out of the Descendants' universe canon.

From what can be deduced from canon (movies/books/webseries), the Villains we didn't see mentioned but should be there could/should be:

Monsieur D'arque (BatB, the owner of the asylum)

Nasira (Jafar's sister, pretty much canon give the existence of Jay's cousin Jade. Jade can't be his maternal cousin because he canonically doesn't know who his mother is)

Morgana (Ursula's sister from the second movie)

Varian and Cassandra (Tangled the Series, which I have not seen though. I know they redeemed themselves at the end, but Auradon's purity culture don't seem to consider that, think of Iago and Anastasia Tremaine, just to say a few)

Now i know the topic I'll bring is pretty repetitive but jungkook's reaction when jimin initiates any touching is not something similar to couples. See thing with jungkook is that he only likes physical touch or affection when he initiates it and when other memebrs do it he does not enjoy it that much not all the time but most of the times. When you're actually dating you don't shy away like that over small small things when you have been affectionate with others too. Idk bro that reflex action or response does not give me the vibes that someone who are dating. And I'm saying it that it's not just about jkk jk act like that with other members too but you expect a different reaction to his supposed bf.

Then that time in ptd LV/LA (idr) vminkook live where jm said jk goes to his room three times a day and that jungkook goes to his room more than jimin's manager. Now this says how much close and comfortable jungkook is with jimin and how he seeks out jm more often..but if you're dating why would you say that he comes to your room more than your manager i mean what's surprising in that? Isn't it given thing?

I think about things like this that they said where my mind goes "they wouldn't be saying these things if they were dating". So for me it does seems like there could have been something between them, they might have shared intimate moment here nd there but i don't think they actually ever dated.

I as said here I still believe that at some point in their lives, their relationship crossed the platonic line. Whether that was in the past or is currently true, I only can guess, but to me, there's no way these two were always, all these years, just only friends.

I'm not saying it's impossible they were only ever just friends, but it seems a bit unlikely to me.

I disagree that Jungkook does not like when Jimin is the one initiating the physical contant between them. I believe JK can be a very tactile person but is also introverted , not to mention there are always cameras in their faces. I think he likes that Jimin is touchy with him and may even appreciate that JM has no problem initiating physical contact, because then JK himself doesn't need to try and still gets what he wants (aka Jimin's affection).

In fact, JK himself said once that what he likes about Jimin is his shamelessness. JM asked him then if that makes JK like him and Jungkook could only just nod.

JK may sing about fucking and "leaving you with an afterglow", but he can still get easily shy. In some of those instances, you say he backed off from Jimin, you can just see that it is getting flustered and doesn't know how to react, especially given they fact they are being filmed.

When PTD in Las Vegas was happening, people (taekookers) were once again hating on Jimin and Jungkook's relationship. The reason was that during an IG Q&A someone asked if they could kidnap Jimin, and JK answered something along the lines of "yeah, take him". This was interpreted by taekookers as JK not wanting or caring for JM. I always assumed that Jimin's comments about JK visiting him all the time were meant for those people, to shut them up.

In general, skinship and physical contact are the least of what made Jimin and Jungkook's relationship suspicious to me.

Hey there. I've got some new info/observations I've been meaning to add and I felt like now was as good a time as any. But this rant got long so readmore time!

First of all, the map they gave us is actually ridiculously detailed. You can tell A LOT about what overlords rule a district just by looking at it, and I feel now is as good a time as any to highlight some of these. Let's start with the most obvious, the Vees.

The Vees pride themselves on being modern, and if you look at the top-left district, it's full of neon signs, tall buildings, and plenty of lights. Overlords seem to be based on various industries, and it fits the bill for the Vees being the Big Kahunas of the entertainment industry. The V tower is easily distinguishable. Interesting these obvious big, neon signs seemed to have spread tto the grey transitionary district between the Vee’s terrritroy and Alastor’s. Considering Alastor took a seven year ‘sabbatical’, this makes sense that they were able to creep their influence towards his territory. There are also a lot of big neon signs in the center area, the one I associate with Lucifer the most. I may have to alter that interpretation later, but that’s not for right now. What you CAN see, apart from the heaven embassy smack dab in the middle, is a lot more neon signs. So if this territory is associated with Lucifer, who we know hasn’t exactly been active in asserting his dominance over Hell, it makes sense that the Vees have been heavily influencing this place too.

To focus a little more on “Lucifer’s” territory, the central area, it’s plausible that there’s also a lot of flashy lighting because of his interest in circus. And many other overlords probably wouldn’t be too keen on gathering permanent territory in the area closest to the Heaven embassy, AKA most likely to have the highest death count of the angels all appear from there. Charlie is seen very close to the Embassy in the pilot episode as well, suggesting that she and/or her father have a home nearby the centre. Now obviously we need to take pilot episode info with a grain of salt, but still. So far it tracks. Especially if it’s a hot-zone for Turf Wars like we saw in the pilot. There’s no specific industry here, and why would there be? Lucifer wasn’t really into spreading his influence in this city. Nd why would he? He’s got the entirety of Hell to work with.

So, let’s go counter-clockwise and focus on the next district: presumably, the one Carmilla oversees.

Earlier poster put enough info on their stuff that I don’t think I need to go too into this. Carmilla likely owns this district due to the obvious factory we see there there’s also a lot of smokestacks, suggesting it’s a very industrial area. We also know from episode 3 of Hazbin Hotel that Velvette seems to have a grudge against Carmilla. If Carmilla is running the territory directly next to them, that makes sense. It’s likely they’ve had disputes. They even used the poo emoji picture  of Carmilla for their war table, so that is definitely some aggression there. Of course, with Carmillla being the big guns in the weapons (and probably general manufacturing) industry, trying to take any of her territory would involve some pretty steep resistance.

Now for the next district! But oh, wait. A quick aside. As I mentioned earlier, the grey areas in-between the major districts, which form the points of the stars of the pentagram of Pentagram City, are what I consider transitionary areas. They belong to smaller overlords that we might not have seen yet, they’re constantly changing hands, they might belong to multiple overlords, IDK. Maybe they belong to Zestial and the bug/ghost/butler guy combined. I really don’t know. I’ll be overlooking them for now, for the most part.

With that in  mind, the next big district is Rosie’s! At the very centre you can see the podium that we also saw in episode 7, where Charlie made her announcement. Like I said earlier, this map was hella detailed. IT seems obvious to me that this is Cannibal Town, though admittedly in the top-right of the territory there seems to be an area with decor that doesn’t entirely match Rosie’s aesthetic. It looks more oriental in nature if I’m gonna be blunt. Maybe a friend of hers?

It’s also interesting that this is one of two districts that seems to have a lot of ‘greenery’, and seeing as Rosie does a lot to keep her people happy, I’ve no doubt she keeps these green spaces in good condition on purpose. Rosie’s emporium can be seen near the podium, and if you watch episode 7 closely you can see that a lot of the buildings in the area are shops. This makes it seem to me that Rosie is in charge of the shopping and/or Fashion industry. Considering that, it’s no wonder she strives so hard to keep up a clean appearance in her area.

Now for the most desolate of the districts: the Doomsday District. There’s little here for the most part, save for a lot of rubble, fissures, swirls that suggest barbed wire, and maybe a few tall lights left over on the left-most chunk. Zeezi is fairly enigmatic at this point: we’ve seen images of her destroyed district, she’s appeared in a nightclub in the pilot and the meeting in episode 3, and that’s it. If Zeezi is based on an industry, my best guess is the party industry. (Could also be sports or alcohol industry, mind, all of which are fairly destructive if left unchecked.) Clearly some buildings have survived, but overall the place doesn’t seem particularly functional. Sinners probably only go there if they want to party hard, blow shit up, and/or start a fight.

Finally, we get to the district with the Hotel… Alastor’s district! Although with Lucifer and Charlie barging their way in there, he might not have as much as a hold on it as he’d like to think. Poor guy got two roommates whether he wanted them or not. But honestly, considering the seemingly low population density of the district, he might not even care. There’s a lot more barren areas, like the forest areas like you can see in the far right, complete with unwelcoming-looking trees. Him and Rosie are friends so it makes sense that they both value greenery, though Alastor’s ‘garden’ is a lot less friendly looking. What few buildings you can see appear to have antennas on a decent number of them. All for radio reception I’m sure, as he's into the radio entertainment thing. This might be the lowest density of Hell’s population too, aside from the Doomsday district, if we go sheerly by size and number of the buildings. Considering Alastor is a serial killer who spent his first few decades happily hunting down sinners, it makes sense that people would get the heck out of the region.

Just wanted to start a conversation about the districts and overlords of Pentagram City.

So an overlord is any sinner with lots of power, territory, souls or all of the above. They can be in charge of a industry like weapons, entertainment, internet, radio etc which can form its own district.

So far I’ve only seen two districts names confirmed (Doomsday and Cannibal) the other two are just assumption. I love that the Vs district is the most modern. Some districts or industries that may exist are mafia, drug production, and Gambling.

There are sinners that have blocks of territory but not considered a “heavy hitter” I think Husk was an Overlord of Gambling and owned casinos and some territory he won in gambling.

I'm bored, so i'm gonna main a random character || p1

Hello everyone! A bit of a different post for today but I wanted to switch things up. I really enjoyed making my last series so today i'll be starting a new one where I document my whole process of building + maining a new character for a bit

For those of you that like my more educational content, i'd still love if you stuck around for this one because it will cover a lot of my thought process and you might be able to pick up some tips along the way.

Obviously the description of "building and maining" a character is kinda vauge. So, here are the criteria i'm giving myself for this challenge

: ̗̀➛ level 90 the character

: ̗̀➛ crown a talent. This one is a maybe but i'd like to do it. Consider it an "extra credit" assignment for myself lol

: ̗̀➛ all artifacts have the correct stats + correct set

: ̗̀➛ at least a 60/120 or 70/140 crit ratio

: ̗̀➛ a complete team for them (not a team that will carry them though, aka hyperbloom)

: ̗̀➛ a "functional team". A team that isn't just for the showcase, but is somewhat practical for everyday use

: ̗̀➛ kill a boss with the team in a somewhat impressive amount of time. I'm not talking any crazy nukes since my Mona isn't built yet but around 5-10 seconds is the goal. I'm not gonna try to reach 100k or anything crazy with them though since if it's a "bad" character that's probably a waste of my resources

ok, so you have no reason to trust me on this but I 100% promise the character I get is the first one I roll.

I plugged all my unbuilt (all level 60 or below) characters into a wheel and, incase you're curious, here's the list:

Lynette, Mika, Candace, Dori, Yun Jin, Kirara, Gorou, Thoma Chongyun, Dehya, Charlotte, Freminet, Faruzan, Heizou, Mona, Kayea, Ninnguang, Kujou Sara, Amber, Razor, Collei

Gonna spin it now and then immediately write my first thoughts so, here we go!

Ok I got Candace! Honestly not too sure how to feel about this. One one hand her infusion should allow her to function as a DPS but since she's HP scaling, my options are limited when it comes to choosing teammates. Honestly, I think I can do this. ALSO she's super pretty and I love her design which is a plus. The wheel allllmost landed on Charlotte which is a bit of a bummer because I was eventually planning on building her but, oh well

if you aren't interested in this kinda thing, skip to the end this section for a summary :D

ok, now I actually have to figure out a build for her. Before looking at any guides, the sets that stick out to me for maybe being viable are:

Nymph's Dream for Hydro damage bonus and attack. The attack won't boost her skill or burst damage but could help her normal attacks especially since her scalings are less than impressive. But the fact that a) one of the stats is useless for 2/3 of her kit and b) that the domain is super inefficient to farm + I have no preexisting pieces for it makes me not want to go for this set

The second set that once I immediately was drawn to after thinking of it was Marrechausse Hunter. Not only does it boos her normal and charges attack damage, but the 4pc will help a ton with crit stats. Of course, this does mean running her with Furina but I promise i'll take off her artifacts once it's time for a showcase since her summons will 100% destroy everything. The other benefits of this set are that I already have a few pieces and that I don't mind farming it for Noelle and Furina

Unfortunately the KeqingMains guide for Candace is only up to date with 4.3 but looking at the artifact section, 2pc/2pc is only 3-5% worse than Nymph's Dream. From this I think it's safe to assume that Marechausee Hunter will be at worst, only a bit less damage than ND

note: I asked on the KQM discord and it seemed like people agreed

As for weapons, I unfortunately don't have any 5 star Polearms so my options are kinda limited. Of the polearms I have, the only one that I think could work is White Tassel but with 4pc MH the crit rate might be too much when factoring in CR from substats

Other than that, Missive Windspear could work for Vaporize

I could also use Dragon's Bane for EM but atp I'm just gonna wait till artifacts are done

note from the future that i'm adding later: will probably go with missive windspear

Finally, it's time to decide a team

Because of her set, Furina is needed. I should also slot in Kazuha because it's Kazuha. For the last slot, I have a few choices

Bennet is an obvious choice for the Attack. I could also go Xiangling on 4pc Tenacity for Attack + Attack from passive + Pyro application. Probably a worse choice than Bennett

A strange but not horrible choice would actually be Lisa! Her ascension passive shreds the DEF of enemies. She can run 4pc Noblesse to buff attack and as a catalyst, can use TTDS for even more attack!

I think i'll try both Bennett and Lisa in the final showcase to see which has more damage

As for the practical team, I think a Taser (electrocharged) team with Sayu/Beidou/Furina would be a ton of fun. I chose Sayu for the teamwide heal bc I don't have Jean and she's already built

Honestly this practical team ig getting me kinda excited to play her!

~12/12/2022~ It was a different but okay sort of day again - H wasn’t able to come in as was unwell, but again felt like we could use some time to ourselves anyway. Had a fairly slow morning, then decided to go out into the snow for a walk - I walked to the high street to get the bus to Lindfield to have a walk round there as well. It was fairly pretty out there, though not as pleasant as I hoped walking in the snow - it wasn’t particularly fresh and quite icy underneath which didn’t make for comfortable walking :/ Preferred watching a new flurry start to fall from inside. AKA texted me cancelling my appointment as she needed to leave work early in case the roads started to ice up again - we were expecting this tbh. Added in a small extra lunch time dose of ivabradine like PoTs specialist recommended - didn’t really notice much effect other than a bit more tired and slightly headachy, but in the evening my resting hr was much lower than usual so perhaps it is starting to work… In the afternoon had ND peer workers group, which I always seem to get anxious about, but then turns out fine. For the rest of the day I finally got out my paints and made a good start on my Christmas crafting project. Hey, was reading through your post about abelism in writing and I wanted to ask how you would suggest to better approach some of these descriptors. Obviously research before using any term that's an actual diagnosis, but for the more general like "odd" and "blunt" how would one use those respectfully? Is it just kinda make sure you're not using them exclusively for villains or to use them not inherently negatively.

Like they're blunt so they can be kinda rude unintentionally but also they're really sweet and genuine because they say exactly what they mean

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head yourself with "don't just give them to villains and show they're not inherently negative". the problem isn't things "odd" and "blunt" as descriptors specifically, it's when people act like being odd, blunt, easily tired, insomniacs, etc, are inherently character flaws.

Character flaws are supposed to be something that makes characters seem "worse". Being odd, blunt, always tired, depressed, hallucinating, and the like are all very common neurodivergent & disabled traits, or--in the case of being depressed & constantly tired (aka Chronic Fatigue)--neurodivergences & disabilities themselves, and none of them are inherently flaws.

Obviously not every neurodivergent/disabled trait is good, they're disabiling for a reason, but imo, you should think about whether something should actually be portrayed as a flaw or if it's just a neutral trait.

Like, your blunt character's bluntness--you've expressed how it can be both a good and a bad thing. Their bluntness (common ND trait lol) isn't the problem, their tendency to be accidentally rude is. It comes from being blunt, but so does their tendency to be genuine.

And yes, try not to have all your villains be neurodivergent or disabled-coded when your protagonists are not. So, like, an eccentric, often-tired villain who has trouble socializing and rarely sleeps has... something going on. You'd want to balance that out with good characters who have similar traits.

Ch.11 Creepypasta x Fem! Reader

Four days had passed since their first brawl. Toby had observed her staggering improvement and powerful determination to learn. He hadn't seen that kind of behaviour in a long time. As nightfall came they began to clear up and head back. Both tired from the long day of training, Toby walking in front of her as they went on their way. The walk was peaceful, the night sky illuminating from the dense array of trees as the crickets chirped their lullaby. The sky was littered with beautiful stars and the girl couldn't pry her eyes away from them, looking up in amazement like a child on Christmas day. Toby on the other hand wasn't paying any attention to anything around him, with his hands in his pockets and head down, eyes focused on the patchy road ahead.

The walk to the cabin was beginning to feel longer than usual, the air now becoming tense from all the silence, but the girl still didn't bother to speak up as she knew it was futile. Toby was a man of few words, always keeping to himself, there would be days where they would only say two words to each other. This was a drastic change from what she was usually used to with the others, especially Ben. " So." Her thoughts were cut off as she looked at Toby, who had now slowed down and was walking in since with her. " Um yeah." She sighed out, looking ahead both hands in her large pockets. " Ab-about the necklace." He continued still trying to put his thoughts into words. " What about it." Her eyes widened a little, not expecting him to bring that up as she looked at him pulling it out from underneath her jumpsuit and holding the tiny bottle between her rough fingers. " D-di he tells you wh-why he gave y-you it?" He asked in his usual bored tone. " Yeah, he did. It's for safety and protection. He gave it to me almost two weeks ago and I usually wear it most of the day." She answered honestly softly smiling as she looked at the pretty plant inside of it. It calmed her looking at it. " Interesting." He said to himself not wanting her to hear him but she still managed to.

Her eyebrow raised, why was he so interested in the necklace all of the sudden. " So...do you and Ben get along or...?" She said trying to further the conversation while they walked to the cabin. Toby was hesitant with answering the question, as he took a moment to think of the right response to such a subject. " Yes a-and no. But more n-no. I te-nd to avoid that blab-blabbering idiot but h-he has his moment at ti-times. Very few a-a-and in between but st-still there non the l-less," He answered simply glancing at her direction as he did.

The girl was intrigued by his answer, she assumed he despised him as they were the polar opposite. The assumption wasn't unprompted either, as Toby didn't seem to like most people. " But then ag-again, he tries t-to hard. He acts too m-uch like a child. It's frust-rating." He finally finished his thought, looking back at the road and softly closing his eyes as he walked, admiring the cool night air. He hadn't felt this clam in a while, he enjoyed the feeling. So much so as a small smile crept up his lips. It wasn't noticed by the girl standing next to him but he didn't mind.

In the distance, they could make out the cabin, relief washing over both their bodies like a title wave. " Almost there, finally I can rest." The girl announced dramatically, sighing. It made Toby eye her watching her hunched form drag her feet while walking. Almost close to collapsing. He grunted, at this rate they'd reach it till next morning, clearing his throat he hunched down sweeping her off her feet. She was startled by the sudden action as her eyes widened in surprise, now settled in his arms bridal style. " WHAT! What the hell are you doing? Put me down." She shrieked flailing her arms. But it was to no use as she was too tired to do any harm. Toby grunted as she thrashed, waiting for her to stop and when she did, he smiled softly picking up his pace.

The girl was surprised at how he was able to hold her weight, as he looked quite thin, but as her back pressed against his arms she could feel the defined muscle. Toby didn't say anything, he seemed like the extra weight didn't even affect him. She could hear his heartbeat, it was slow and quiet. The soothing rhythm made her relax even further melting into his arms. They finally reached the cabin, but Toby didn't bother to put her down, no he managed to open the door with her in his hands and she barely noticed. Walking inside, warm air hit his face making him sight. Going to the living room he carefully set her down on the couch and stepped away.

The girl sat upright, her whole body resting as she softly smiled. It had been a while since she could get some rest. Toby had walked to the kitchen slowly lowering his mask and pouring himself some water, looking into the living room while he drank it. He could see the back of the girls head. " Did you also have to train as I do?" The girl's voice broke his peaceful trance. He cleared his throat pondering on his answer as he usually did. " Not r-really." He simply said rinsing the cup and putting it back into the self. " What do you mean by that?" She perfused, wanting to know him better. " Well," He sighed putting his mask back to place and walking towards her, sitting down on the armchair next to the couch. " You have y-y-your duties so you ne-need a different type of trai-ning and mentors. M-my mentor was much wo-worse than we a-a-are."

The girl let out a snort when hearing the last part, looking at him with a curious look. " Really, how so?" " He i-i-is a being co-comprised of pure e-evil so you could imagine it your-yourself." " Pure evil? Is this the Operator man everyone is talking about?" " Bingo." Shed started to get frustrated by how short his answer always was, shed has to ask multiple different questions to know the smallest thing. " What's up with this Operator fella? If he's so powerful why does he need a human guarding his forest?" " Easy. A human is a b-b-basic, morally grey, being. F-for example, you we-were chosen be-because you weren't all t-that good bu-but not all that bad, in the mi-ddle aka The middle-man. So it d-doesn't matter how po-powerful h-he is if there's no real ba-lance in the fo-forest and your j-j-job is to hold that balance." He finished taking a big sigh and slouching on the couch, making it clear that he didn't feel like talking anymore. Soon he would fall asleep.

The girl watched him thoughtfully, eventually getting up. They had finished a little earlier than usual, at this time she would be heading back to eat and then go to bed but something was telling her to look around the cabin, something she wasn't able to do. There were no bookshelves. Its walls were all very sterile and plain. Same for the kitchen. But something in her gut was telling her to go up the stairs, slowly approaching the railing she sighed, with every careful step she would look behind her to make sure Toby was asleep. Reaching the final step she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, the narrow hallway felt longer than before, and she felt strange not immediately heading to the left.

Turning her body to the other side of the dimly lit hallway at the end was a door, she hadn't noticed it before. ' Was that there?' She asked herself approaching it and reaching for the gold knob. The door was painted in a thick layer of black paint, scratches and carving covering its whole surface, one of the larger carvings was crossed out circle. A chill when up to her spine when she noticed it quickly pulled back her hand. Taking in another harsh breath and mustering up the courage she turned the knob, but it didn't budge. She pressed her whole body on the door and began to push but it still wouldn't work, finally, she got frustrated and began to hit and thrash the door handle. But it still didn't move, so she had to reluctantly give up.

There was something important they were trying to hide and she made it a point to find out what it was.

To me, Theo had traits of Antisocial Personality Disorder, aka, he had sociopathy traits (minors can’t be diagnosed cause kids are already kinda narcissistic, they haven’t completely develop empathy, so this traits can dissapear with age, I think Theo’s traits dissapeared too, cause he felt regret while selling Malia, at that point i’m thinking it was more a nurture thing and not nature), that’s why the Doctors chose him, he was easily corrupted (being a sociopath doesn’t instantly makes you a killer, not even a bad person, you just lack empathy, but take everything I say about this with a grain of salt because my research on APD goes back to almost 10 years and it was scattered to begin with ), very easily manipulated, there was some innocence in him even with the lack of empathy, because a kid is a kid after all. 

What called my attention in this part is, if he was the most succesful till then, why not keep going with someone even more evil? maybe a teenager who had already killed, why that fact made them see they needed someone good? logic would point you to the other direccion. 

In my opinion, he was a half success because a) He wasn’t good or evil, just vulnerable and innocent as most kids. And b) because he was the only one apart from Mason whos second set of DNA came from a sibling, but that’s another topic. 

I would like to point out that the causes for sociopathy are rooted on trauma, abuse, parents with substance abuse problems or parents with personality disorders. 

After alllll this rant, I don’t think he was a actually sociopath, he just had traits, because it doesn’t have a cure, just a treatment to minimize or dissapear the dangers to others, and Theo does change a lot, his main desire changes completely, is thrown away even when he fights it, that doesn’t happens with APD as far as im aware, if someone knows better please correct me (i will research more in the future, but not today). 

I do believe Theo is ND somehow. And that with the fact that he was a kid just doesn’t ties up the “he was corrupted before” thing, a child can’t consent, he couldn’t be a willing participant, they lied to him, I highly doubt he underrstood completely what he was doing entailed. Mainly cause when he says to Stiles “they told me she wanted me to have it” he seems pretty sincere, he didn’t had to lie, it wouldn’t help him at all, Stiles had no simpathy towards him at that point, there was no purpose on it, and everything we saw Theo do in s5 has a purpose, there’s no cruelty just because, he might enjoy it while he’s at it, but he doesn’t do it just to enjoy. Except for one scene; when he goes to is “parents�� and braeks that dude’s hand with a hammer, that was punishment, I wonder why, why the only act of cruelty just because was directed towards someone who was playing the father role.

Someone traumatized can do very awful shit and none of those things cancels out the other. So while I believe he was traumitized he still killed and deceived, the consequences of it, the harm done, doesn’t dissapear. 

But because is fiction I allow myself to love him cause he changed, in TW universe that happens a lot, within the context makes sense, it’s not really that bad, but in real life people don’t do that, at least I don’t believe someone capable of doing what he did irl can be saved, or deserves to be saved.

Theo was already corrupted before the Dread Doctors got to him.

In 5x19 they literally say it point out that he was basically already evil to some extent. At 31:05 "Not a complete failure. We learned from you"

And what they learned is that you need someone "innocent/good" and corrupting them to create the perfect evil. Hence why they took Mason.

Theo was a failure because he was already corrupted, because he was already to some extent "evil"

The dread doctors didn't "torture" Theo to the extent some people make it out to be either. He WAS a willing participant. Yes, he was a child so there for, yes it's iffy, and I am not saying Theo didn't get affected by the Dread Doctors at all and what happened.

The thing is he isn't some innocent little kid they just choose to corrupt. He wanted to be a Chimera, that's why he killed his sister. So that the Doctors could transplant it into him making him a natural Chimera.

In 5x11 Dr Valack explains that Theo was the first step in the right direction for the Dread Doctors for making the "perfect evil" and is the reason they changed their methods in creating one.

They changed their methods to "corrupting something truly good" to create the "perfect evil" because they originally thought to create the "perfect evil" they had to start with the "perfect killer" that is said as stated before.

ok i mentioned earlier that i wanted to make a fnaf au that sort of does it’s own thing and is it’s own beast entirely so I spent a few hours writing a few things down and here are the basic plot elements nd stuff!! fair warning tho it is REALLY long so that’s why the readmore is there

you play as a 2nd year college student whose on vacation with 6-7 of your friends who all go to different schools. ur all on vacation in ur small hometown around the midwest region of the us, none of the friends except for one is rlly worth noting (bc i’ve yet to rlly flesh them out)

it takes place in the modern era, around summertime, and right near the end of everyones vacation.

the one friend of note I mentioned is a guy called Lester Smith! He’s really into electronics and his dream job is to become something akin to an imagineer . you and him go way back but not in the good way. You used to bully him a lot in middle-high school for being the “weird kid” and ultimately fucked up his dreams. This is because at the end of senior year, there was a robotics competition you both partook in, both in different teams, and the reward for the winning team was a fully paid scholarship for the most prestigious stem school in the state. Lester would’ve won, but the only reason he didn’t is because YOU broke into his garage late at night and tampered w his robot so that it would fail and make him seem like he was inept at programming. That’s what happened, and YOU won the scholarship instead. This was a massive blow to Lesters hopes as his parents weren’t able to pay for a proper college for him and his grades in other areas weren’t that good so he just goes to a community college now. since then you and him have became friends as he mostly seems to be on good terms w it and doesn’t SEEM to be onto you for what you did to him. you two like to talk about animatronics a lot and it’s apparent that he’s probably way smarter than you and that he probably deserved that scholarship way more than you do.

also none of your friends are accquantinced with Lester, you only just introduced them to him over break, and they seem to be getting along well. For now

thankfully for Lester his luck has turned around, he’s been showcasing these new entertainment animatronics he’s worked years on to multiple restaurant chains but they’ve all wanted nothing to do with his project because of Lester’s lack of any sort of resume etc. it all seemed doomed to fail until this local restaurant called Freddy’s (which genuinely is not affiliated with the Freddy Fazbear company because....the Fazbear company does not exist in this universe!!! it ditches the canon ALTOGETHER. the place the plot takes place in is just called Freddy’s for continuity purposes and to keep the name of the franchise) humored his offer and took him up on it. probably because the company is losing money each day and is likely only doing this so it can bring customers in and not be bankrupt

OH YEAH ALSO Freddy’s is given the funding to go thru with the animatronics initiative from an anonymous angel investor which has also allowed them to expand it and be relatively financially well off and has allowed Lester to make more animatronics and expand the place! so that’s fun

the hypothetical game takes place thruout the week-long testing period for the animatronic prototypes and the restaurants renovations are nearly done and they also need extra night guards to make sure everything goes smoothly. so you and your friends all decide to pool in and help Lester with the testing week by all becoming night guards and working together at the same time since it’s your last week together and you have nothing else to really do plus you could use the extra money but YAY!!!! FRIEND MOMENCE

Throughout the hypothetical game Lester who is also a nightguard serves as your phone guy stand-in. He calls every night to chat with you and the others, telling you about tips and tricks to make sure the animatronics work as intended, goofing off with you, infodumping about his cool robots, being a pretty neat dude and having fun. it’s so cool.

as mentioned before it ditches the series standard 5 canonical night format and goes with a full week of 7 canonical nights instead. the first night is relatively tame but as it goes on the other nightguards (who are your friends) start disappearing one by one....aka they’re being KILLED by the animatronics. you can’t really know this is happening at first because all your friends have made it clear they have to go back home on different days, and your friends disappear on the days they’re set to leave home so nothing seems amiss at first because you, and everyone else who’s still left, just thinks they headed back home like they said they would, which Lester assures you is what’s going on. but eventually in the last 2 nights you and Lester are the only ones left and it becomes apparent that your friends, or rather what remains of them, never got out at all.

remember how i said that Lester serves as the phone guy stand in and how he helped you with the animatronics? turns out a lot of the advice he fed you through calls actually ended up aiding him in killing all your friends, and technically you’re sort of to blame for why they’re not around. 50% of the advice he’s given you ends up hurting your friends and making the animatronics go after them.

plot twist! Lester is fully aware that you ruined his life at that robotics competition and as soon as he got home from it he could tell that someone, specifically you, tampered with his robot, and has been planning to brutally get back at you for years and is incredibly jealous and spiteful toward you for obvious and... pretty justifiable reasons, all things considered

on the 7th night Lester locks both you and himself in Freddy’s with no way for either of you to escape. he’s then killed by one of the animatronics and that animatronic, now possessed with his soul and with his consciousness stored inside, chases after you and tries to kill you. this is along with the other animatronics, who are now all haunted by your dead besties who died on the previous nights, partially controlled by Lester and enraged that you let them die. you spend the rest of the night evading them, but in the last few hours they all combine together into a single animatronic who is entirely controlled by Lester and goes after you even MORE and the difficulty ofc ramps up to 100.

the only way to beat the night is by going into the secret storage room and grabbing all the fireworks that you and your friends were going to set off on your last night together as a group on break - which is like, a lot of fireworks - but had to cancel due to bad weather (which was the 2nd night of the game, right around when ppl were disappearing) and luring the Mega monster animatronic to it and setting it off, destroying Freddy’s and everything in it. wether ur player character also dies in this explosion is up to ur interpretation and their fate is left ambiguous as the Newspaper Article(tm) published after night 7 states that you simply “disappeared” and doesn’t elaborate on if ur alive or not.

so yeah!!! that’s the basic plot and backstory of my fnaf au. i’ve always thought it would be really cool if there was a fnaf game based off the slasher genre (w Lester being the slasher-type villain here), that concept has always worked rlly well in my mind nd i gotta say i’m having SO much fun workshopping it. i’ll get to designing the characters and the animatronics REAL soon and i’m definitely gonna have a ball w those aspects. i’ll also probably find a name for it other than “MY FUNNY FNAF AU” so that’s cool. ok i’m done rambling im so excited to flesh this out byeeee ^^
