Me: I read/watch Delicious in Dungeon for The Plot The Plot (spoilers for S01E17: Harpy/Chimera; CW blood and injury):

And this episode we have the absolute best problem: THERE'S SO MUCH OF IT alkdjaljda

I always loved this bit in the manga, with Kabru using logic to point out that Toshiro's frustration, while valid from a legal standpoint (and debatably from an ethical one), doesn't make any sense because he'd have done the same thing in Laios' shoes. Kabru defending Laios :3

Kabru being supportive of Laios more T-T The soft looks. Love them so much.

There's just something very compelling about how Toshiro is holding his hips in this shot alkjdlajda

I know Toshiro was miserable during this but they are really cute together T-T Poor Laios wanting to be friends and being very bad at it, which is a total mood.

Kabru protecc :3333 I just love seeing so much of Kabru's strategic mind at work this episode. He's always thinking and planning something and I love it.

This shot was just really fucking good. In the manga, Kabru's slightly cropped out of the panel, but the way Trigger like fully defines his musculature is nice. Poor Falin :( Is okay, she gets her revenge and kills him back roflmao

I want it noted that this is Kabru looking at Laios, and while obviously the idea is to focus on Laios' obsession with monsters and the danger that poses were he to become lord of the dungeon, I keep think about that slo-mo pan-up shot and how beautifully Laios is posed here. Just Labru thoughts.

So soft for each other, these two. Frustration, aggravation, annoyance, pain, but also envy and softness. Toshiro's little, "That's the part of you that I envy." just kills me. Lots of Toshiro softness this episode. His Japanese VA did an excellent job showing his softness for Falin. Also Laios' constant YOU NEED TO EAT SOMETHING kept getting to me alkdjaldja

Girl twin notices Bi-Han outside approaching the house, and she and boy twin are on the move to protecc and possibly attacc and hide like mini assassins

Bi-Han enters the house and he's abt to enter reader's room, and boy twin gets protective (he's the more impulsive/emotional one) and throws a snowball at the back of Bi-Han's head

Bi-Han vs. Little Twins???

Twins yell and stuff waking reader up, and reader comes out of the room and finds Bi-Han, the grandmaster, Lin Kuei assassin getting attacked by two little ice demons

Reader stops the twins and is shocked by Bi-Han's appearance

Bi-Han and reader go outside to talk (angst, hurt, with maybe a sprinkle of comfort for reader, but not for Bi-Han. We will make this man suffer)

Archaeologist Ecru is a SNEK (not that you can tell bc she has limbs lmao) Kind of Australian stereotype my apologies - girl is essentially the Indiana Jones of Murdle but her job is difficult since she doesn't have opposable thumbs?? (Maybe because she's a snake.)

Logico is on a mission - to deliver the Special Secret to the Convocation of Countries. He WANTS to go alone, but there’s a few issues. One, there’s a huggy goat who won’t let him go!

IRRATINO: No no no no no. You are not going by yourself, it is far too dangerous. I will be right here.

He ensnares Logico in an inescapable hug, with the biggest, dumbest grin on his face. 

Of course, with the Special Secret in his possession, Logico has instantly become a MAJOR target - especially for murder. He has to travel in a car with Irratino, multiple bodyguards, and an extra driver! And the worst part? He has to travel in a CAR! (In case you don’t remember - Logico hates cars.)

Oh yeah, and one of the bodyguards is Officer $%#@?& Copper. For added security, there’s a fake car alongside them with a fake Logico driving. Wait! Then how the hell is it moving?!

Unsurprisingly, murder strikes - INSIDE THE CAR! Irratino uses himself as an airbag to protecc Logico, and the killer ends up striking the driver instead. The car does a barrel roll! After the crash, they all take a minute to recollect themselves.

LOGICO: What… even happened… IRRATINO: One of your bodyguards tried to kill you! They hit the driver instead - but it was so close! This is why you need me here with you! LOGICO: This is why I hate cars… IRRATINO: No, you should hate murder.

There’s not even time to solve it first - they have to get right back on the road. Now, Irratino gets to sit up front with another human driving. But when she turns around (a horrible thing to do while driving), Logico sees that it’s not just one of those humans! It’s the Third Human… 

R. CRIMSON: RADICAL CRIMSON!! LOGICO: [scream] R. CRIMSON: I know you’ve been palling around with my INSIPID sister. But I will ensure that you will pay for all of your crimes… AND YES, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY!

Logico doesn’t get the leisure of sitting up front. He’s crammed between Officer Copper and a giant dismembered stone statue, for some reason.

LOGICO: Why does that need a seatbelt?

The statue stamps its foot in response, and Logico screams! 

R. CRIMSON: CAREFUL. He’s sensitive. LOGICO: THE WHA?? STATUE: [tapping the ground] - .- ..- .--. . COPPER: WELL? Are you gonna say hello?

Logico shakily reaches out his hand. Taupe has no arms, so it cannot return the gesture.

TAUPE: .... .. IRRATINO: Logico, remember? Someone tried to kill you! LOGICO: RIGHT.

The decoy car has gone off road and exploded. Unsurprising, considering it was driven by a stuffed animal. But the real car drones ahead, and Logico is REALLY having trouble getting clues when he’s stuck in the back middle seat. Especially crammed between one of the worst people on earth and whatever Taupe is, who is so big that if it did have a head it wouldn’t fit in the car.

IRRATINO: Here, I’ll help you out. I know a secret divination technique called [talking-in-reverse demonic language, eyes glow red] that we can use! 

At that moment, he realizes something vital! And so does Logico… Copper is wearing TWO pant legs that go all the way down. She never does this, unless she were to hide her prosthetic - or lack of one!!

It’s Constable Copper! No wonder the bitch was being too polite. 

LOGICO: WHY? C. COPPER: The officer didn’t have the GUTS to try and kill you herself… thanks to the GOAT MAN that follows you!

Logico is disappointed. Why couldn’t she have been afraid of HIM?

C. COPPER: I HAVE to get that Special Secret. SPILL IT! LOGICO: NO! NO NO NO NO NO

They crash at their arrival destination. Finally!

Honestly I enjoy that episode a lot! And watching it right after predatory makes the episode even better!

The episode fleshes/metals (I’m so funny) out a lot of the characters and the impact Optimus has on their lives and how far some may go, especially Bumblebee. I also think that the episode does some justice for Megatron, showing that he's not pure evil and will listen to reasoning, and there’s a progress between him and Bee where he gradually shows Bee more respect, although the dynamic was short lived, it was still very refreshing.

The episode also sets up that Bee is really good with communication (despite the barrier) and persuasion, using what he knew about Megatron to get the cure.

Genuinely a great episode 10/10.

Do you think we will ever get a hint of Fred’s backstory? I feel like he is probably an orphan William picked up on the street but there seems to be so little info bout him. Heck. In the pages that give info on the characters he is the only one who doesn’t have an official birthday/age which I find odd.

I’m assuming Moran came before him then Fred after but who knows how far apart. I also wonder how Moran reacted to this child being brought into the group given how he can be about newcomers. 😂

I'm curious to see how much more we get about all the characters going into part 2! I'd love some more backstory on the Holmes boys, more Moneypenny, some Fred focus, etc etc. And I think it's fairly likely we'll get some of that. It'd be nice for other characters to get their own little arcs like Moran did in the Man With the Golden Army.

I think Moran was the first person added to the group other than the brothers and Jack. William still looks really young in the flashbacks to their meeting and early interactions. But if I'm remembering right that Fred is 19 pre-timeskip, he definitely might have been really young when he got incorporated into the group. And since Moran was pretty sweet with younger William (carrying him sleeping, so cute!), I'm guessing he probably took pretty easily to the big brother role. It's a little different with Bond, where he gets briefly hung up on the gender thing but also I think is just challenged by and competitive with Bond. With an orphan kid who probably reminds him in some way of the boys in his unit that he feels he failed? I think he probably decided "Must protecc" very quickly.

I will never stop screeching about all the different and wonderful kinds of love and amazing found family relationships in this series!

How did you start liking G/t like what was the Awakening?

For me, I was 6, it was Sunday School in Church and we were learning about David and Goliath, and then heard David knock Goliath to the ground with the Pebbles and Sling and I said out loud in class, "Man if I was a Giant, I wouldn't be mean like Goliath" then it HIT ME, like IT RAM OVER LIKE A MOVING CAR

The whole time I was like, "What if I was a Good Giant?" That interest grew all the way to now and I had so many thoughts like I was 12 and thought, 'I want to be a Giant big Brother figure to Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, I wouldn't let him get bullied by anyone because I'll eat them and make sure he's safe' I WAS FALLING INTO VORE COMMUNITY OUT OF NOWHERE, which unfortunately I am now in lol.

I was a kid, I played with toys and imagination with my sister. The toys were always actually tiny compared to us, and I liked to put myself in their perspective.

Then my sister and I got into video games. I played Mario, and what do you know... my favorite item was the mini mushroom- so in our little made up games in multiplayer with each other, I always used it.

Got older, got into Minecraft. Found the Gulliver mod out of pure luck. Loved it, became my favorite mod and always begged my sister to let me include it. I liked to be tiny and it had a lot of fun features if you were. It sadly doesn't get updates anymore, I have to sort of use a makeshift version of it these days.

Honestly Ruby is probably the anime character I relate to most, so I wanna see her end up tiny and getting a break from being super stressed while her team just kinda protects her while she takes the time to relax even a bit since well... she's small, she can't get into much crazy (she might try, but I doubt Yang would let her)

First Impressions: honestly his design doesn’t really appeal to me. my friend said he looked like a TWST chara but honestly i can’t see it based off what I know about that game. also his name makes me think of betel nuts. that said i like the little skits he did for his pre-debut vids.

Debut: he has a very… “bro-ish” voice lol. also he’s talking really fast. idk if it’s bc of the nerves or not. pulling out the slide out of his hat was very creative ngl. betel nut man confirmed. idk what to make of his comedy, it’s good but not really to my taste. he’s really loud so i probably wont watch him much or my ears may explode. mascot is cute tho ig. purple likers based. also… this guy laughs at his own jokes? at least he loves himself so good ig? actually nvm he doesn’t RIP. fuck cockroaches tho. he plans to do drinking streams? oh god i can’t imagine how chaotic he’ll be on alcohol. also he can’t cook?! dear lord. omg that catwalk is pretty af. also his design has grown on me, bro jumped out of an otome LMAO.

First Impressions: he looks like a tiny little apple 🍎. baby boy, baby (or is he? i didn’t follow these guys on twt so i wouldn’t know). but lmao at that edgy-ass name 🖤🥀⛓. then again one of my oshis also has a chuuni name (but its in japanese so my monolingual ass can ignore it kek) so i can’t really judge. it seems the name was chosen to fit with the design as it is more overt abt the sci-fi stuff than all the others. friend said he looked like an edgy und3rt4le oc and while i get the edgy oc part i don’t get the und3rt4le part. his skits were frankly amazing and i don’t think anyone can top them.

Debut: that intro screen is so cute oml. also the logo bounces around like a tv on standby thats really neat! music is cool too! omg he did a “behhh” i like him alr! his lore video was nice and funny too. if im not mistaken he’s the first tempus member to have a dedicated lore vid right? now that i’m hearing his natural voice it sounds really pleasant! must protecc. i may be shorter but im calling him short anyways for lols. he looks cute when he’s angry www. his layouts are pr creative i love this man. he screams loud but its okay he is babi. vegetable dislikers are based and no one can tell me otherwise. if this is him at low energy, how would he be at high energy? headpats tskr. outro is cool.

First Impressions: pretty boy. purple is my favorite color + most of my oshis are associated with blue so his indigo color just makes me mesmerized. and because of that it would be funny if his voice was deep as hell. my friend said he looked like a jenshin chara and while i do understand that bc jenshin is many people’s first exposure to this kind of fashion… okay yeah he kinda does look like a jenshin chara. instant roll lmao.

Debut: his intro is pretty dope, especially with the music. omg he can do metal screams?!? his voice isn’t deep as hell but its still not what i expected. weirdly enough it still fits. i really like his sense of humor the most so far. he talks at an average speed to me but ppl have said i talk fast so im probably not the best judge i retract my statement he actually does talk fast. OMG A VOCALOID FAN B A S E D. i think i can hear an accent, a pretty thick one at that. yknow what, shinri has competition when it comes to who’ll get demonetized first. my boy drawing with ms paint lmao. probably gonna become my oshi for this wave (?).

First Impressions: the boing boings are on full display. pec nation has won. now we must prepare for the ultimate battle, the battle against demonetization. jokes aside his design is kinda generic imo but if it works it works. also he actually looks slightly older than everyone else so thats a plus. friend said he looked like a himbo and tbh i get that. but from what ik he doesn’t seem like one so far? he’s giving off more “father figure” vibes to me.

Debut: the intro bgm is chill which makes me hope he’ll be chill too. holy shit his voice is really deep, like probably the deepest out of the vtubers i’ve seen so far. i think his laugh is cute. so far the chillest of them all, which admittedly isn’t a hard bar to clear. i do appreciate the simpler debut this time, the other guys production values and ideas were good but this one will definitely age gracefully. daddy (platonic). mans has his priorities in order. the little JRPG section was neat, my friend called it when they said “jrpg vibes”. yet another league player, nobody is perfect. probably won’t watch him much if he goes ahead with the horror stuff bc its not my genre but i appreciate him carving out a little niche for himself.

OVERALL:

I like most of them, but I’m worried the group dynamic may be a bit unbalanced this time around. We got three loud guys and one chill dude, which will be an… interesting combo. These guys seem to have lots of cool ideas and potential, so I would be interested in seeing how they could improve. 8/10 stars, mostly enjoyed the relay.

[Magi reread; special edition] Episode 1: Aladdin and Alibaba [Part 1]

Lmao, yeah. Ofc I'm also rewatching it. Btw, you'll proobably see some Polish subtitles, sorry in advance. Usually, if I cut some pic, it's because I tried to cut out the subs.

Starting off strong with Aladdin screaming his throat dry (I feel that rn, but also, man, that's some good screaming, I give it to the VA, you can really feel how he's seriously losing it here).

Also, I didn't remember the animation being this pretty. Like, my mind is still on that scene with Ja'far attacking Cassim, and the dart being a bit too slow, which made it look kinda awkward ngl. But, well, first three episodes tend to look best.

But also, in the manga it was less breakdown-y. I actually like how the anime shows more desperation in Aladdin than the manga does, in which he's pretty chill about it all (unless we're shown him losing it in some later flashback, in which case I don't remember.).

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE Magi OST? Well, I'm saying it now.

I like that we don't find out what's Aladdin's wish until later. But also, you know what? That was such a good way to cut it! Ugo tells him he'll grant his wish, and Aladdin repeats "My wish...?", and is IMMEDIATELY cut by V.I.P.'s "All my wishes are finally within my reach". Say what you want abt the anime adaptation, but that was an awesome choice here.

I'm kinda skipping the OP, I'll probably go about it in another post.

Overall, there's a bit more interactions with some random people. You get the general impression that Alibaba is pretty well-liked here.

Also, something I meant to point out - I know it's not some ground-breaking discovery, but in the anime you very much get the feel that Alibaba is the protagonist instead of Aladdin, and, yeah. You very much do. Aladdin might've got the first scene, but for some reason you do feel like Alibaba's already got more focus. Though that might be because we learn more about him faster. In the manga Aladdin had an entire chapter to be established as a character first, but here we've got that one (1) scene, and then we have Alibaba working, interacting with others (they comment of how hard he's working), chatting about Budel, and him having a "I'm working to reach my goal" moment, like, that's a lot of information compared to what Aladdin's got. Aladdin meanwhile has only got that breakdown scene, which, honestly, tells us very little about him. Just that he's ectremely desperate to get out, so he was probably stuck there for a long time. Like, it does kind of play well to Aladdin's general mysteriousness, but also makes Alibaba steal the spotlight a bit. Which will be a bit of a trend for at least the first few episodes.

So, a small thing is that Alibaba comes off as a bit more confident here, at least regarding the Dungeon thing. In the manga it looks more like him daydreaming a bit, while here he's like >:/ I'm serious.

Also, now that I think about it, it's another case of the focus being shifted from Aladdin to Alibaba. In the manga in that scene you're watching Aladdin freak out behind Alibaba, whereas here you can actually see Alibaba's expression a bit (not on this photo, sorry), and you can't really see Aladdin's face at all.

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the ridiculousness of this situation. Aladdin just. Followed Alibaba there. Just like that. They don't even know each other's names. He just followed Alibaba into his house, and ate his apples.

And Alibaba doesn't throw him out for it.

Instead he started to monologue about dungeons, lmao. That's actually another difference - in the manga Aladdin doesn't care about the dungeons and Alibaba's monologue, but here he's actually curious about them, and listens to Alibaba's explanation.
