In the episodes "The Floating Palace" of Sofia The First, the mermaid queen mentions that the last ship that arrived in the Merroway Cove, the humans in it attacked the mermaids, then a storm came and sank the ship before anything worse happened.

This ship is in the bottom of the cove and the mermaid princess Oona frequently plays in it. I don't remember having any other sunken ship mentioned in the series, besides....

Besides Birk Balthazar's ship. He got lost at sea.

It's probably a shot in the dark, but what if it's true... Especially since Sofia got in there too. I don't totally believe in this theory, but I don't think it's impossible.

Edit: I know she said "years before you were born", but Sofia was very small when her father disappeared. What if Oona is younger than her? What if the queen just isn't sure about when that happened? because, as we know, she didn't said the exact date.

I was thinking about Princess Oona's mermaid comb (idk how my train of thought led to that) and honestly, what was Queen Emmaline thinking? If I were a mother and I thought my daughter wasn't yet ready to use a powerful magical comb, I'd keep it hidden until she was ready and then give the comb to her, rather than giving her the comb but not allowing her to use it, so she can swim around defenseless, easy pickings for any old sea monster looking for some power.

I'd like to imagine that after the sea monster incident, she decided to teach Oona how to use it properly, but as we can see in Return to Merroway Cove, so far she only taught Oona how to make some little waves. Did you learn nothing from the incident?!

I made this "masterlist" to make a compilation of all the links of all the magazines that I scanned and posted here on Tumblr. Instead of interacting with each one of those posts, you can interact only with the masterlist, and it will be a lot easier to access (and support with reblogs, if you want to, of course)
