There are some rumours about the fia and its integrity and governing abilities (I just learned about how they fucked up wtcc and then wtcr after making the championship with close fights and easy rules where more teams could get in too exclusive opening chance for Citroën only to get ready for new rules so they dominated everything and adding huge spoilers which created dirty air and kept overtaking close to zero. Speaking of PaperSeer

I've been meaning to post all the propaganda i did for them for that Ship Battle separately because I want it be in it's own thing vs hiding in the rbs

None of this is new if you were following those but I like having it all in one place

It's just a bunch of fun concepts or reasons i think they would be cute

Ex-boyfriends older brother? Ex-BFs Older brother!! because that's always so fun and adds some cool drama

OR

on the other hand Dating your crushes little brother specifically because they are related and you have little chance with the older one

They could bond over divination, which has the added effect of Lavender probably not expecting him to like it at all so it's a nice surprise for her when he does.

Could also be used to make a Mentor/Mentee relationship that changes as the years pass

Lavender sending him letters all the time in that first year after he graduates under the guise of wanting help when in reality the poor girl just has a crush.

And Percy is Percy so having someone just want his help with something is just such an easy way for him to become fond of someone.

Something about Lavender I've begun to notice makes me want to pair her with people older than her and while Percy is still close-ish in age his personality would most likely emphasize that gap a bit which is a plus to me

I'm a firm believer in the Percy was very lost after the war concept and in a world where Lavender lives she would be too which also gives them a good jumping point

Like Lavender stays with the Weasley's after the war but with so many people in the burrow there's just too much noise for her because trauma from the war so Percy ends up inviting her to stay with him instead. Which has the added benefit of being good for both of them.

TransGirl!Percy/Lavender would be so much fun I love the concept of TransGirl!Percy with the most high fem girly pop girls I can find and Lavender is no exception to that

Ok so I'm going to add on some extra thoughts to one of the more vague concepts i shared before because its been living rent free in my head

So-

the concept of Lavender ending up staying with Percy for awhile after the war

Maybe she lost everyone in the war (by death or by being abandoned by her family you know either way) Maybe she's just having strong self hatred hours over being scarred and doesn't want them to see her.

Whatever the reason she can't/won't go home.

And Percy lets her stay with him because maybe his family pushes him into it. Maybe he just feels bad about her situation.

if its a Werewolf!Lavender situation where she was abandoned by everyone because of it maybe he just relates to that feeling and invites her because of his feelings of never being able to do enough during the war regardless of how much he had done.

Point is it happens and after a few weeks their able to help each other with things they both struggle with

Percy flat that's been borderline empty since moving in starts filling up with just stuff like obviously you know the normal house stuff he hadn't bothered with.

A couch here. A table there. but also like random stuff. Lamps. Curtains that actually look nice. Rugs. Little things just start filling the place out and Percy realizes more and more that the clutter is nice and is finally making the flat that's been the place he'd slept for years at this point actually feel like a home to him.

How does Lavender get all that stuff? I was mostly thinking odd shops personally like I always envision Percy's flat as in London so despite having not checked for the time frame. I imagine there would be quite a few shops to choose from.

Also having multiple people who are bad at taking care of themselves in general but who are decent at remembering different things in the same house. Means they can help each other with the parts they struggle with more.

In their case I do think a big one would be Percy making sure she's actually eating and Lavender trying to keep him from working to much its basic but i think it works for them.

I think Lavender dives even more into divination post war and that's what she does for like work after awhile. I also think she originally had no intention of going back to Hogwarts to redo her seventh year but Percy manages to convince her too with the promise that she can still stay with him on breaks and after she graduates/

mostly because that being a big catalyst of them realizing they have like feelings feelings after being apart is cute to me

Like Percy comes home from work every day and is just like oh- right like it's for the best and he firmly believes that but he misses the company you know?

Lavender is also having a not great time. She's no coward but that doesn't make returning to Hogwarts after everything that happened in her last year not terrible regardless. She's on high alert the whole time and can barely focus on anything because of it. Even her readings are not going as well. She keeps catching herself thinking about Percy's flat as home.

In the end I think she ends up leaving the school and just like taking her owls at a later date because she just doesn't want to deal with it.

Which also means you get Percy helping her study for it which is really cute

I'll also add all my original, more diverse thoughts I added to their first round below a read more!

We are back to just random thoughts because I don't think I have enough of any specific concept to talk too long

So- Lavender while doing a divination reading seeing that her last love will have red hair and during this time she's still with Ron and as any girl her age just assumes that's who the sight is telling her about

she doesn't really think about it to to much after they break up until she's laying on the cold ground assuming she's not going to make it and then its all

ah- last love because it's my only real chance of it

But then you know in this scenario she does manage to make it somehow

maybe someone is able to stop fast enough to put a statis spell on her or something

Oh a soulmate au where you can save you're soulmate from certain death one single time even if they're technically already gone? that could be fun with them Like maybe as everyone's gathering up the rest of the dead after Voldy's gone and Percy's throwing himself into helping to try not to think about Fred too much and after carrying her for a minute she just wakes up that would really neat

Plus now all i can think about is everyone in the school touching legit everyone that died

you know just in case

just everyone going in a circle and holding every corpses hand for a few moments

could be used as a set up for a lot of interesting ships ngl

Hi there! First of all, I wanted to say thank you for sending such a well written and thoughtful message to me. I’m really glad that you took the time to write this and to ask me something like this because I don’t want people to be scared or weary of bringing things up like this. I like to try to create an open blog where people can ask me questions about really anything they want and know that they will get a thoughtful and critical response back.

This is actually a topic that really interests me, and the more that I thought about this ask that you sent me the more I realize that I do actually have a lot of thoughts on modern medicine versus non-modern medicine. One of the things that I don’t really ever talk about with anyone is that I was actually born addicted to opioids and to spend a lot of time being weaned off of them I think that that plus having drug abuse in my household has changed the way that I see medical treatments for me personally? I don’t really talk about it with anyone because the very few times that I’ve actually opened up about it. It’s been almost immediately weaponized and used against me so I’ve just stopped sharing it with people, but I do think that it’s actually relevant here. I live with someone that’s actively against modern medicine, but I often don’t share her views either. A lot of that I think stems from her fear of illness.

I think that modern medicine should be accessible to everyone. I think there should be multiple options for everyone and easy ways to try out new medications without jumping through a million hoops. I think it should be easy and cheap if not free. I think if you find a medication that works well for you the government should be paying for that — it’s a right. I know governments have it in their budgets 🙄 are you kidding me?

But, I’m also someone that believes in the power of yoga, and meditation. I’m someone that uses tarot as an emotional regulator. I’m someone that says soup has healing properties and means it. Part of that is believing in the power behind those actions (saying “soup has healing properties” is much more magical than saying “food is fuel, you should eat to feel better”). And, part of it is the loverboy in me that thinks there’s peace in the rain and that sitting outside in the quiet connects you to all the little creatures whispering in the wind. This, in itself, is healing, and I mean it.

Most importantly, I think that these need to be in balance in order for their benefits to be reaped. You can’t rely on either one alone, in my opinion. Just because they give you different things. And, that idea of everything in moderation is kind of where my values lie in most things (this doesn’t include all the slimy goblin-like homophobes or transphobes or anyone that falls under that umbrella).

I’ve learned that the majority of the blogs on tumblr I’ll be disagreeing with, because most of them hold their beliefs to such insane extremes that I can’t possibly get behind them. Even the positivity blogs I reblog from — that isn’t possible all the time. “Staying positive” isn’t possible all the time, yk? My values are much more of a shade of grey than most blogs on here represent. Most informative blogs, anyways.

So I guess the takeaway here is that I’m always critical. The things that I share on here I see with a critical eye. It’s my job as a human that lives in this world to embrace and question the world I live in, because both are forms of loving life.

I actually really like conversations like this, and really enjoy when people send this stuff in so feel free to — you or anyone else. And, usually the blogs I reblog stuff from I don’t even see. I usually filter through tags instead of cruising on blogs (although my mutuals I check in on). So, usually the blog I’m reblogging something from has a completely different take from me, and I’m interpreting a less extreme version of their take lol.

hello qsmp enjoyers, here's my goodbye to a server that saved my days for a year now

i don't know what will happen with the qsmp in the future but i just can't put myself in it anymore

i feel disrespected by the choices Quackity's Studios made, as a french person, but also as someone who's been abused as a worker. I understand that the process may be long (every administrative stuff is hell) for the studio to solve the financial and hierarchical situation, and I believe Quackity did everything to solve the issue as fast as he could (it's a belief, at no point i'm saying this is the truth of course).

however, i do not agree with him being neglectful towards his own project, towards his own admins, towards the qsmp community, i do not agree with him being radio silent towards his employees/volunteers, not thanking them once they left, not communicating anything to them about their own future, i do not agree with him either being blind to their loudly expressed needs or purposely ignoring them, i do not agree with him telling everyone "stuff takes time" but also allowing new events to happen on the server, and i'm extremely disappointed in this whole situation, because it divides more than ever a community and a project that i, among a lot of other people, cherish since a year now, when simple mesures such as COMMUNICATION were ignored.

frankly i think that most of the people would have better understood and been patient if Quackity's Studios didn't keep on announcing new events like nothing was happening

the reason i'm not talking too much about the financial issue is that : 1. I believe finding a way to pay admins that are still in the qsmp is a priority to Quackity nowadays, along with firing those who mistreated the employees/volunteers ; 2. I believe they will find a solution regarding the incomes (merch actually being a means to pay the admins is one of them)

i'm writing this during qsmp awards, i know a lot of ccs will be there. i'm a little hurt and disappointed but at the same time, i know some of them have a personal relation to Quackity that we as viewers don't have, they have their reasons to trust Quackity, i just don't agree with them, but please, no hate towards them or to people who'll watch the future events

it's a goodbye even though no one knows me lmao (i spent hours and hours watching, filling the vods of timestamps, translating youtube clips, even drawing again since a long time, i filled in the qsmp fandoms, did presentation docs and put hours into spreadsheets of the ccs statistics), but know that being a part of this community was a life experience for me, in so many ways, i'm forever thankful for the people who made this project possible, i'll miss sharing my hyperfixation with you all

hello everyone! i'm especially proud of the coloring of these gifs, so i wanted to take this time to remind you to please support gifmakers. please reblog, don't just hit the like button, and share what we make so others can see it too and do the same. the rest of this isn't necessary to read, but if you'd like a little insight: we do not just feed video into a gifmaker website/app and post. see how his skin looks green-tinted in the unedited gif? it took me 45 minutes just to correct that. color on gifs is split into red, yellow, blue, green, cyan, magenta, white, black, and neutral and you can adjust them either by selective color or hue/saturation; most gifmakers do both. the problem is, green is often also recognized as yellow and/or cyan. red is also part yellow, and sometimes part magenta too. black can darken unexpected things for the same reason. so when i was trying to adjust his skintone, i had to reduce the green, but i also had to reduce the yellow - which made the reds too bright. so i had to reduce the red, but then he looked orange. so i had to add in some cyan, but then he looked kind of ashen and desaturated. it went on and on and on, and that's before i even got to darkening or lightening the saturation on multiple different colors, or reducing or increasing the saturation itself. that's how it ends up taking 45 minutes just to fix one small part of a gif. all of that was after i had already done my usual settings for darkening neutral shades, increasing the exposure, a gamma adjustment, increasing vibrancy, changing the levels, adding a curve layer, and adjusting the brightness and contrast - and often all of that involves small tweaks too, even from one gif to the next from the same video because of changes in lighting or angle. i made 8 gifs for this set and fortunately didn't need to make adjustments gif-to-gif, so it 'only' took around two hours. and i'm a novice gifmaker! i've only been at it for a couple few months and still have so much to learn. but please support people who make content for your fandom. whether it's someone making art that takes 15 hours or gifmakers constantly churning out new content (constant is not an exaggeration in f1blr btw, there is a LOT of stuff to gif in f1) or people pouring their souls into fics, support us. let us know you appreciate what we're doing. give us a little warm fuzzies and a smile for the work we put in to make this a more enriching and enjoyable place. it only takes the click of a button. (not only okay to rb but encouraged!)

the first one is named the dragon tamer, and theyre based on a REALLY old slugcat oc i made back in 2019!

the other 2 are new, the little green one is named the runt and the pink and black one in the second image is the friend (i miiiight change their design tho)

the dragon tamer is fond of lizards, but is very easily distressed by certain things, including the presence of other slugcats because of backstory reasons (which. I will not be sharing bc i havent finished drawing it also its gonna need CWs)

All of the mechanics for these are just concepts idk if this shit would actually work well in the gameplay LMAO

the dragon tamer is able to have different lizards tamed at once without them fighting, lizard bites of all kinds cannot kill them and they can wiggle out of them while stunned. tamed reds will not get snappy with them. they have a panic meter and certain situations will raise the panic meter (being alone, being around rot, seeing other slugcats and other stuff) and the dragon tamer may have to sit still once theyre away from the stressor to calm down. when fully panicked the dragon tamers battle skills are affected or they may freeze or they may be unable to focus on anything but the stressor.

different lizards have certain perks around the dragon tamer when tamed. blue lizards and strawberry lizards can mostly neutralize panic and may help find food for the tamer, red lizards, eels and salamanders can offer rides around water like jetfish, cyans, reds, greens and white lizards will let them ride on their backs anywhere etc etc.

the runt is small, weak, and alone; easy prey to any predator nearby. as such they must fight ruthlessly to survive.

the runt can carry multiple spears and can craft bombs/explosive spears if they can find explosive ash. their attack power is the same as the monk. they have more options for combat (they have artificers mauling ability, possibly melee abilities like the lancer) they can also easily traverse pipes and tunnels faster than the average slugcat with their tiny body. scavs are afraid of the runt. they cannot pounce.

the friend is a slightly older slugpup. curious and empathetic to other creatures, their path will be paved in symbiotic companionship.

i dont have much for the friend but heres what i have: befriended scavs and lizards will not fight eachother. scavs are less nervous about the friend. lizards will have a sort of universal rep and become a little more neutral towards the friend as they tame other lizards (its more like they be more likely to chase other prey rather than the friend and be less aggressive when spotted or heard) orange lizards will have the most easily affected rep and green lizards hate eachother so this barely applies to them.

Again, this was kind of luck on my part because I spoke very lovingly (albeit truthfully!) about a few mega popular characters, which caused two of their fandom BNFs to kindly reblog my posts, and that sent a bunch more asks for the WHOLE rest of the Kirby cast my way!

I'm sorry to say, it does take a lot of energy though. But I do get the struggle, as I'm often exhausted by life/lots of jobs. However, if you can find any sort of mental "trick" to keep yourself going, you might discover you have more energy than you think inside you!

(Me, I'm very visual, and I keep a collection of my favorite fanart on hand. If I think I've exhausted myself on a character/ran out of ideas of things to talk about, I'll browse through my personal "gallery" and it will help me to remember characters/events/interesting points.)

As to the matter of confidence, you've probably heard the whole "fake it to you make it" bit and to a degree, at least, it's true. I've had a couple of posts where I've flooded the tags with things like "OMG this is so bad and I'm so sorry!" or "I had no time to work on this and it shows~" or "if this sucks it's because life is crushing my soul and I just want to sleep for a thousand years..." annnnnd unfortunately...

...even if it's how you're feeling At The Time, those things can make people feel like they're intruding into your space by liking or reblogging it. It's like, if you're telling us something so personal and private, maybe you really only want to hear from a friend right now, and not a stranger...? What I've done is I've told myself it's okay to write out those low self-esteem thoughts elsewhere but try to let the people who are here for the art/images/videos/writing/discussions just enjoy your art/images/videos/writing/discussions.

If you've got something to get off your chest, don't feel like you have to hold it inside, but don't hold your audience captive either.

(Also, something else fun about this: if you cast out positivity, you may find that it comes back to you, and when you look again at that thing you shared, it was NOT as "awful" as you thought.)

Now, a lot of that was about "external" confidence or what you display. As for internal confidence, that's... kind of a constant struggle. We all -- and by all, I I mean even famous published creators -- have times when we think our work isn't good enough. Annnd...

...Well, it isn't always great. But the fact that something isn't great now (even if it's the absolute best we can do at the time) doesn't mean we have no skill at something! We all have to start somewhere. And sometimes "somewhere" is a piece of art or writing or theory or humorous content that only 1-2 people think is "...Eh, not bad."

My first "hit it big" piece? My "Moon's Haunted" Kirby meme? Ohhh man, I can't STAND to look at now! I redrew it a few months back and if I were to redraw it today, it'd look better still, probably. The key is that I tried (...and that I meme-posted when the game was going viral >.> ) and I think that shone through??

(...It might be silly, but there IS a Nintendo Direct tomorrow. Probably no Kirby news, as I assume Vanpool's closure will bring an end to us getting multiple Kirby titles a year, but if you really want to try and take that ^ path, you can always get up early/stay up late and ready yourself to post commentary on any news!)

That doesn't just go for art, but writing/theories/HC as well. I myself find it a little sad when someone starts on a post and then will just trail off with "...lol I dunno, didn't think about it that hard."

"Don't say that, person on the internet," I cry! Do you realize how much information is at your fingertips right now? You can google for things even if you only know it as "that thing in that one movie about the fruit." You can watch a Youtube video in 5 minutes explaining the mechanics of something you've never seen or ever hope to do before! You can even watch a Youtube playthrough of a Kirby thing you forgot instead of saying "You forgot!" Don't know how to draw cloaks? Pinterest has millions of references! Don't like Pinterest? Just google "cloaks, Pinterest" and click on the images tab and you will never have to log into that accursed site! It just takes WANTING to.

Though sometimes, I think people write that out of embarrassment? Maybe they DID think about it but they don't think anyone would be interested? Or maybe they really didn't think about X or Y but didn't want to feel like they were neglecting anybody and that something is better than nothing. Which it is, but LOVE is even more important!

...And love, especially in a fandom space, can be ~complicated~

Like I mentioned above, I'm LUCKY that my top favorite characters also come close to topping the rest of "the fandom's" list. But as I've said before, I love every character in Kirby. Even the ones-people-want-to-throw-off-a-bridge-into-a-waste-treatment-plant..

And if I'd started off my tumblr as a "The Susie Haltmann Appreciation Blog!" as opposed to my actual "Hey I'm Completely Obsessed About Marx and Magolor and I Think About Them All The Time (...but I also like the Haltmanns from a story perspective for their heartrending tragedy that hits close to home for me...) Blog" I don't know if we'd be having this conversation right now. ^^;

(It doesn't just have to be all about controversy/"discourse" related stuff either. I could have started a "Daily Sillydillo" blog and had to retire it in a month due to low levels of interaction. The concept of fandom favorites might not be very egalitarian, when every character deserves to have their story enjoyed, but sometimes, strong love can make up for the lack of eyes on a thing. Occasionally ^^)

...Anyway, you might not have the energy, at least not all the time, and confidence might be a little low right now too, but you love Kirby, right? You have passion for it? Passion can get you a lot! And also, there's a few methods of interaction that, for personal reasons, I could not choose that have done wonders for everyone else!

For example, I have some old, unhealed trauma about OCs, but there's a whole hu~ge section of Kirblr that loves OCs and, as far as I've seen (??) tries to be really supportive about them?

Lastly, I can guarantee you, you are NOT a stalker and anyone who thinks being a "quiet supportive fan" equates to being a stalker should consider moving away from thinking of themselves and/or others in that negative way. You have stalked nobody! You have only shown an active interest in others! That is a POSITIVE thing!

And on that note, you're definitely not unwelcome either! Especially if you're one of the precious, wonderful people out there who reblog lots! If you want to get your toes wet, why not test the waters and build your confidence in this space by adding some of your thoughts onto your reblogs? You could build a rep/connections that way!

TLDR, sometimes gaining an audience/a space is a magic trick that no one knows the secret to. Other times, it is the result of months and months and months of hard, lonesome persistence.

The best advice I can give you is advice I would give myself:

-Be kind if you can, if you cannot, then be understanding -Demonstrate care about your interests and those of others -Forgive yourself for being at the beginning of your journey

-Enthusiasm, sincerity, and love are warm lights in this world of ours that can, at times, seem so dim and dreary. Light a little lantern for yourself and remember to laugh loud with joy that life is also so amazingly, ridiculously magical and before you know it, others will find their way to your light to add their lantern to yours!

Thoughts on josuyasu? Also: merman!AU josuke and okuyasu

My honest thoughts on Josuyasu are that they're silly and they are very much in love. I might not post much about them or other ships, but there's a bunch of Jojo ships that I like and enjoy seeing around! (I am just too big of a Speedwagon/Jonathan/Jonawagon trashbag that most of my posts and rbs revolve around them lol).

In the mer!Joestars AU, Josuke would be a merman while Oku is either his caretaker or maybe a regular visitor (since I think he's the youngest Jobro of the bunch?? I'm not too sure about this, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!). Maybe he's a regular visitor who gets a part time job at the aquarium after class!

I know a lot of people has the idea that there's not a single thought in Okuyasu's head, but the reality is that he's a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Sure, he's a silly guy and he may do and say dumb things, but at the end of the day he's a teen acting like most teens do. And not just that, but he can also recognize that he isn't the brightest crayon in the box and yet he is often seen making insightful observations that your Local Certified Dumbass(tm) would sure af not have the brains to make.

With all that considered, I think he would be the kind of guy who becomes just ✨ mesmerized ✨ (or should I say.... "mermerized"? lol) with the aquarium and the sea life living there after some school trip to that place, and even more so after meeting some of the mers living there. After that, he visits the aquarium often and is eager to learn more about sea creatures.

It's been established that Jonathan is often helping visitors and sharing his knowledge with them, so he is always happy to share with Oku his knowledge on both sea life in general as well as about merpeople. Speedwagon (who I'm assuming is either the owner or the manager of the aquarium while *also* doing a lot of the physical work too along with the other Jobros because he genuinely likes doing all that stuff and running the place the best way possible) would see the kid hanging around often and, even if Spw wasn't the observant man he is, he would still be able to notice the Very Evident enthusiasm in Oku's face every time he learns something new and just his eagerness to learn more. And so, a spot would be eventually offered to him for a part time job there. By this point he would know a lot about merpeople already, so it wouldn't take long for him to be considered for a role as a caretaker (with a little help, maybe? since he's still new and not experienced). It would be through his constant visits that he would meet mer Josuke and, now, he would be assigned as Josuke's caretaker due to them being friends already and getting along well.

Needless to say Josuke would be so happy to get more time to hang around with Oku. And, of course, the typical Teen Chaos and all of its shenanigans would ensue from then on. Nothing mean spirited, just teens being teens -them being LOUD, mostly- really lol (idk if merpeople have longer lifespans than humans?? but Josuke is still at the stage of a merperson's life that would be the equivalent to a human's teenage years anyways).

you try and pretend that everything is alright - you tell your friends that his and your relationship is just as happy as ever

he lies and he tells the other people at the bar that you’re too busy to join him

you both lie

your relationship with him used to be spontaneous: every day with him was a new adventure

he used to surprise you with breakfast in bed. you used to come in during his work hours to say hi and drop off lunch

but it’s been almost a year since you’ve woken up with him on the other side of the bed

he used to tease you and ask you to wear his signature scarf 

and you used to steal it, and swear you’d never give it back

only now, you stare at it in your closet, before returning it to his side of the clothing rack

he used to come home every night for dinner, and then ask you, with a teasing smirk, if you’d like to accompany him to angel’s share

and now he doesn’t come home until it’s late - and you pretend to be asleep as you hear his drunken footsteps stumble to your door

you’re quick to hide your tears. he never notices

you argue a lot now – but the arguments always go unresolved. he’s too scared of intimacy to give a genuine apology, and you’re too prideful to give one either

so it always is resolved by the argument being swept under the rug

it’s gotten to the point where you’re both too tired to argue – so you purpose schedule things to do whenever he has his off days from work

and he throws himself into more work to avoid coming home to you

it’s breaking, and you both know it. you just don’t know how to fix it

and there’s one particular night – on your anniversary, where you bought tickets for you guys to go on a cruise to see a performance in liyue

he’s always told you how much he wishes he could travel

and you even went out of your way to ask jean if he could have a week off, and she says yes

you made him promise to be home by six because you had a surprise for him

but when he stumbles home at eight, when the cruise ship has already left, you can’t help but feel exhaustion bubble up in your chest, as you wonder where you went wrong

kaeya jumps at your voice.

 “sorry, love,” he says. “i got held up at work.”

 lie, lie, lie. that’s all he does anymore.

 “jean says she let you off three hours ago.” he freezes at that, and you can see his mind working to come up with another excuse. 

 “i–”

 “it’s our anniversary, kaeya.”

 he huffs. “i know–”

 “one fucking day. i ask you to come home for one fucking day on time, instead of going to the bar. and you can’t even listen to that.”

 “y/n–”

 “i bought cruise tickets.” he freezes at that. “for our anniversary. i cleared it up with jean to make sure you got the time off. i packed your stuff for you. i made sure to pack your favorite food. you always told me you wanted to see a performance in liyue.”

 there’s a flicker of emotion on his face – and it’s because you love him, that you know that the one flicker speaks volumes. but you’re too fed up to even care.

 you’ve spent too many nights alone to forgive him now without an apology.

 he turns. “i’m going to come back when you’re more rational.”

 of course. he always leaves before you can finish - he always shuts you down, he never fucking listens.

 and you want to yell–you want to scream at him. you want to be angry.

 but the only thing that comes out – 

 “do you really think we can keep going like this?” 

 he freezes at that. his hand hovers on the doorknob. you pretend you don’t see how they shake.

 the silence is deafening. you regret asking.

 “just lie to me,” you whisper. your voice has lost the anger. “lie like you always do. it’s the one thing you can do.”

 he doesn’t turn. but you can still read him; you know every way his shoulder bends, every way his hands shake. you know every sign – it’s an imprint you’ll never be able to brush away. 

 i love you. i still do, you want to scream, you want to beg. you want to tell him that you’ll try again. you want to tell him that you’ll fight for it; the love.

 but instead:

 “no,” he says. his voice sounds stronger than you remember. “i don’t think it’ll work.”

 he opens the door and he leaves. 

 you pack your things up that night. 

 you leave before he comes home.

 little do you know, he was late because he was preparing a special dinner for you. but you will never know that.

there’s an odd feeling of knowing that something is breaking, but being unable to fix it

what used to be a loving relationship, has dissolved into brief good mornings and i have to work on my experiment

and while it used to be i have to go back to dragonspine, he used to pause and ask if you’d like to come with him

now, there’s no pause. there’s no add on

he used to take the time and break in between experiments to make sure to spend time with you – at least for a few days

if it’s been awhile since he’s seen you, he used to note to make you dinner, and spend the night with you

when he was working in his lab, you used to sit in one of the stools, absorbed in your own creations

you used to make him small bracelets – beaded necklaces, or some trinkets that he always wore

sometimes, if the experiment wasn’t vital, you used to sit by him and watch

and he used to look up from his experiment, just to stare at you and smile softly, knowing that he loved you

it’s not like that anymore

now, you sit in silence in his lab, eyes nearly closed, wondering where everything went wrong

now, you ask him if he wants food, only for him to snap at you in a harsh tone saying that he was busy

he stops inviting you to dragonspine, for fear of hurting you in the lab. but you think it’s because he’s fallen out of love

he gets to wrapped up in his experiments that he only occasionally comes out of dragonspine, and he almost never spends time with you

your dinners become awkward and tense.

something’s breaking. and you can’t tell if it’s your heart or his 

and sometimes when you lay, alone, on your cold bed, you wonder how you ever thought your relationship could last forever

it only gets worse when albedo gets so wrapped up in his activities, that he forgets the things you’ve planned completely

there have been so many dates where he’s just completely forgotten, or been unable to leave the lab

and once or twice is fine. but seven?

you’ve been training to get into this apprenticeship program in liyue – and the day you get the letter of acceptance, you can’t help but be overjoyed

and it had been albedo who had encouraged you every step of the way. 

and while you want to tell him, you know you shouldn’t disrupt his experiment

so you leave him a letter at his door, asking him if he could come down over the weekend during your going-away party

he reads it, but he’s unable to leave his lab. he swears he’ll make it up to you after

and while you pretend you’re having fun at the going away party, you can’t help but watch as every hour of the clock ticks by

he never shows up

and you wait longer than you should have. like every goddamn time.

 you make your way up to dragonspine in early morning.

 you know he didn’t show up to the going away party – still, you want to say goodbye, one last time, before you left for liyue because you knew you wouldn’t be back for at least a month.

 you hesitate when you see the experiment in progress sign, and you wait there for an hour, waiting to see if it’ll be changed.

 it doesn’t. and you’re running late.

 fuck it, you think, opening the door.

 “i’m busy,” he says, the moment the door opens.

 your mouth snaps shut. something like anger and hurt both rise in your chest.

 “i just wanted to say goodbye,” you say. i can’t even do that anymore.

 he doesn’t even look up. “oh. y/n.”

 he says your name plainly–there’s not an ounce of emotion in it. it makes you flinch.

 albedo’s never been good at expressing emotion–you know that. but still, it hurts.

 “do you need something?” albedo asks.

 he doesn’t even know. and there you see the crumpled note you left for him, sitting in the recycling.

 you scoff. “could you even pretend to care?”

 he looks up at that. “can we do this after? i’m in the middle of an important experiment.”

 you snap your mouth shut. of course.

 you know it’s stupid – the anger you feel. you know he’s trying to keep you safe. 

 but not even a congratulations. 

 and it hurts. that he prioritizes his experiments over you.

 “of course,” you say, bitterly. “i won’t interrupt.”

 you leave. and deep down, you know this is a final goodbye.

 little do you know that he had a surprise planned for you – little do you know that he had gone through the effort to prepare you a send off meal, thinking you wouldn’t have to leave until later.

 but by the time he asks sucrose where you are, you’re already gone.

you can’t count how many days it’s been since you and diluc have fallen out of love

 liar. you’re still in love. you know you are

 but you don’t feel love anymore. you don’t even remember what it’s felt like

you used to make breakfast together, chaotic or not, but still in love

you remember the days that you used to catch him staring adoringly at you while you tried to make the eggs, breaking into a grin

he used to always remember to give you a good morning kiss – no matter how late he was – and just give you a soft smile while saying “just one for the road”

you sit at the empty kitchen counter now. diluc is long gone

he barely mutters a “good morning,” always rushing to leave, even though you know he won’t come back until you’re asleep

and you won’t ever admit it, but you wait for him. every night

you wait in your bed, sitting up at every creak, wondering if he’ll finally be home

and when he is, you pretend to be asleep

he doesn’t pull you close anymore. instead, he stays on his side of the bed

he throws himself more into work – there have been so many times when you’ve tried to schedule a vacation with him, but he always cancels last minute

you’ve wanted to take a trip to liyue with him for ages–but every time, he cancels because of work

so many weekend plans, down the drain

he’s forgotten about your plans so many times – and when people ask you where diluc is, you just smile and say that he got caught up in work, pretending that you’re fine

he apologizes every time. but i’m sorry can only go so far

you had planned a trip for your and his anniversary – the same liyue trip you were supposed to have gone on six months ago

but on the day you were supposed to leave, he leaves a note saying that he won’t be able to go again because of work

 you’re waiting for him when he gets home.

 it’s past two in the morning - and you always wait. you never tell him, knowing he’ll feel guilty if he knew, but this time, is an exception.

 he slides in through the window, jumping when he sees you looking back at him.

 he tries to smile but it’s strained. “y/n. why are you still up?”

 you stare him, blankly.

 “are you kidding me?”

 he freezes at your tone.

 “is this about the trip?” he asks. “i’m sorry, dear, but i can’t go. i have work.”

 you can see the exhaustion in him – and you know it’s selfish to argue now when he looks dead on his feet, but you also know that he’s skipped on you far too many times for you to forgive him.

 “you say this every time,” you say. “i’ve been begging you to hire someone to help so you’re not working every hour. it’s one weekend, diluc.”

 “let’s talk about it tomorrow,” diluc says. 

 you scoff. “tomorrow? when you leave even before i wake up? sure, continue avoiding me like you always do.”

 he flinches. “y/n–”

 “i’m tired of this, diluc,” you say, with an exhale. “you said you’d try. you said you’d try and make time. but last weekend when i bought you tickets to see a show that you wanted to go to, you told me you had to cancel. and the time before that, you cancelled on my birthday dinner. i don’t–i can’t do this anymore. i can’t be the only one who puts effort into this.”

 and you can pinpoint the exact moment you see his heart shatter, as his eyes widen. and you know – you know it will haunt you for the next year. 

 but it has to be said. and whatever your relationship once was–it ended a long time ago.

 he swallows the lump in his throat, reaching out. “y/n–”

 you flinch, taking a step back. he freezes.

 “i tried, diluc,” you say, swallowing. “i really did.”

 and then you’re gone.

Well, this post has been made countless times, but I’m making one too because I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re new to tumblr and don’t know the whole “reblogging is better than liking” rule and other stuff. So without any further ado, here are ways YOU can support the fanfiction authors. Now keep in mind this applies to almost every author out there, not just the stayblr fandom, so if you’re a silent reader (or even if you aren’t), I advise you go through this post. Warning, this is a fairly long post going into detail, so yeah. I still expect you, the readers to read this, and if you’re a writer, feel free to lmk if i’ve written smth wrong or if you want me to add something! ^^

In this post I’ll go into thorough analysis of the pros and cons of each of the methods listed here and how YOU as a reader can show the authors whose fics you read more love and motivate them to produce content.

#1 : LIKING !

I think this is basic common knowledge, and a lot of people tend to do this. When you like the post, the author sees it, you see it, and if the author has their liked posts accessible (which majority of the time they don’t), and if someone deliberately goes to check it, then they see it. You’re telling the author that you've read their fic, and either you’ve enjoyed it to a certain extent, or you’re just saving it to read for later.

Likes are seen by you, the author and anyone who has access to your likes (which, most people don’t).

♯ CONS:

If you ONLY like, you’re not really helping the author’s work reach a wide audience because this site isn’t Instagram. Reblogging is the only way people can SEE our works. I’ll cover more on that in the next section.

In a nutshell, liking is good! But you should most likely use it in a combination with the other stuff I’ve listed below, because just the like itself doesn’t really do much in giving the author any feedback or interaction on their fics.

To clear shit up; I’m not talking about those people who don’t read the story or appreciate it in the first place. I’m talking about those who appreciate the fic, like it, but don’t leave any sort of feedback to show that.

#2 : REBLOGGING !

This is SO, SO important. I cannot stress on this enough. Let me explain WHY so many writers stress on reblogging content: 

Tumblr’s tag system is inherently fucked up, and has grown more so over the year. I’m not kidding, at first, the fic either used to show up in the tags or it didn’t, but now, sometimes your fic can be REMOVED from the tags because of,,, idk tumblr tag shit. Anyways, as you can see, it’s very demotivating for authors at that point, because the major way for people to find their content and expand their blogs has been blocked.  

Due to this reason, tumblr authors need to RELY on you, their followers to help spread their works to a wider audience. Now again, before you get me wrong, I’m not saying you ae forced to rb our works regardless of whether you like them or not. BUT, that being said, if you DO infact like the story, there’s no harm in reblogging, right? By doing this you’re indirectly telling the author — “hey! :D I liked your fic! Which is why I am gonna share it to my followers so they can read it too :D” Trust me, you’re doing nothing but helping the people who produce content for you to read. Seems like a worthy cause to hit the reblog button, right? It’s only a one, or maximum two step procedure.

Leave tags in your reblogs! Trust me, as an author myself and as much as I know from all my author friends, we oft check the tags of your reblogs to see if you found any part amazing or even if you have anything to say about the writing we put so much hard work into. Even a key smash or a “This was so [insert adjective] 🥺” is enough to leave a smile on your authors face. 

♯ PROS :

You’re !! Sharing !! Your authors !! Works !! This leads to them getting more recognition, so for the content they’re so graciously providing for free, you’re promoting their blog and helping them expand it.

If the tags are being a shit, which majority of the time they are, then you’re literally making an author’s day by reblogging! You’re showing them that you, a follower and appreciator of their works are willingly sharing their content because it deserves to be seen by more people. Again before any dumb people decide to attack me, i am talking about people who like the fic but don't bother reblogging and are silent/ghost readers. I am not forcing anyone to read anybody’s work.

YOU’RE MAKING YOUR AUTHOR SO HAPPY WHAT MORE REASONS COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT !! 🥺

♯ CONS :

Literally none, because as far as I remember no author is against reblogging of their works. It’s quite literally the way this platform functions. Reblogging is IMPORTANT.

#3 : COMMENTING/SENDING FEEDBACK !

This kind of overlaps with the previous section, but THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT STEP !! When you leave feedback, you are directly giving the author something so much more valuable to them than high follower/note counts or money. Your feedback is literally our serotonin. I kid you not the number of times I’ve received a positive comment and smiled and it has made my day. There’s a reason youtubers (though not the best example, bear with me here because it was the only one I could think of) ask people to subscribe, like and COMMENT. The subscription is like a follow, the like is ofc like a heart, and the comment is equivalent to an rb with comments in the tags. 

You might argue and tell me that a comment is basically like an ask so the reblogging step isn’t necessary, but I’m sure 99% of you use YouTube and you know that more comments leads to people’s videos boosted in the stream/trending charts. This is what reblogging does. Reblogging shares the piece with other people like minded, which leads to a boost in reads. You are literally helping your author grow.

It’s quite literally the same thing as youtubers. Youtubers NEED validation to keep their content creation going, so do writers, so do other ccs on this site. This post is however, focused on WRITERS, so keep that in mind.

♯ PROS :

By doing this, you’re giving author valuable feedback! It’s similar to what you do in rbing with tags. Interactivity with their fics boosts their note counts and helps expand their audience, so srsly, now think of it: your one comment is playing such a massive role to help ccs create more content.

Imagine how much of a difference the note counts will be in when every person who simply likes after reading the fic, reblogs, leaves a comment and sends an ask. the note counts would be high on each and every fic, which is validation in itself, but your comments would inspire the writer so much more! Please, don’t skip the commenting part. Even a simple one like: “this is so cute!” is wonderful. 

♯ CONS :

Remember, if you’re gonna give constructive criticism (which I’m sure you all are smart enough to know if different from hate), make sure the author is okay with it. Authors need to be in a specific mindset and must be ready to accept criticism, so if you’re gonna give constructive criticism to them when they’re at a low point, it may demotivate them.

Just commenting, instead of reblogging and commenting in the tags/ reblogging and then leaving an ask in their inbox, while it gives validation in plenty, will not lead to the author’s work being spread. Therefore I suggest either reblogging and commenting in the tags or reblog and then leave an ask, or comment under the fic!

!! reminder; I am not saying that if you don’t rb and just leave feedback, your feedback has no value. We authors truly appreciate every bit of feedback, but this post is aimed to help you learn how to interact with and support authors, and make them feel more motivated, because the current scenario of liking and scrolling is taking a toll on their creative abilities. Take it from a person who’s been writing for a year.

#4 : COMMSIONING VIA THEIR KO-FI/OTHER APPS !

Before any of you attack me, let me tell you that this is not a step that is 100% necessary to do. ONLY donate if you can and if you genuinely want to, and if anyone is forcing you to pay for something against your will, you need to get yourself out of there.

Regardless, if an author has a kofi and you’re able to and you want to donate, you definitely should! It’s also a valid form of support.

#5 : ADDING THEM ON REC LISTS/ RECOMMENDING THEM TO REC BLOGS

This is such an underrated option, to be honest. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen my fic was recommended onto some rec list and it’s made me smile so hard. If you like some fics, create a rec list! They’re oft very popular amongst the fans too. Making rec posts is such a great way to share your favorite stories with others. 

Rec blogs! I’ve seen a couple going around, and needless to say they are a great way to get someone else to read your favorite author’s work whilst also giving them your own feedback. These blogs oft accept recs via a form or ask box, and they leave your feedback along with their own, or else they’ll oft tag the author in the feedback post, so look! You’re basically helping your author share their fic to many more people, because you’ve given them feedback and a reblog.

Validation! Feedback! Reblogs! More exposure! Helping a blog grow! Spreading love! basically a run down of the stuff I’ve said before!

♯ CONS :

Literally no con of this. Unless, a one in a million case, this author says they don’t like receiving feedback/being tagged, and I’m sure NO person has said this before, at least none that I’ve heard of.

#6 : FINAL COMMENTS; MISC !

When an author points out about how the interactivity is drastically reducing, don’t just give them blind apologies. Yes, you feel sorry for not interacting as much, we understand, but rather show that you’ll become a better content consumer through your actions. We need to see that we’re not just throwing words into a void and that people are actually trying to be better content consumers. 

Understand the fact that authors don’t get paid for this, and 99% of the time, these authors don’t take commissions either. They’re giving you novel worthy writings for free. Take Percy Jackson: You think the author would have felt motivated to write the subsequent parts, let alone two whole series based off of it if literally no one showed that they were interested? Rick Riordan has sales, he is being paid, there are millions of people and big agencies who provide him feedback. Now take that huge amount and simmer it down to an audience of maybe 10000 people This is what fanfic authors want. They don’t want your money, nor are they telling you to risk your lives for them. All they want is, a reblog, some tags, some feedback, some INTERACTIVITY.  A sign that they aren’t throwing fics into the void and that people actually like them, some motivation to continue. Seems fairly easy to throw an rb with some tags, right?

Don’t bother to tell me that we do this for ourselves and we shouldn’t ask for likes and reblogs and feedback, because 1) you are consuming the content that we “write for ourselves” and 2) writers post their content here for interactivity and feedback. We could just not post and write and save our fics in our dungeon drafts for years. But we choose to post to entertain the readers, the consumers. And we aren’t even asking that much in return.

Don’t give me the whole “I’m scared that authors feel that comments are annoying” excuse either because seriously this has been DEBUNKED SO MANY TIMES. Istg, in the nicest way possible, if you still think writers are annoyed by interaction and feedback, after so many posts, long rants have been posted as to how we’re not, then you must truly be living under a rock. There, I said it. Please stop thinking this way, I’ll say it again, AUTHORS ARE NOT ANNOYED OF FEEDBACK, COMMENTS, TAGS, REBLOGS. WE LOVE IT. Saying this is like saying that the audience in a theatre play shouldn’t clap when the play ends because the actors would find it noisy. 🤡

I’ve seen some people saying they have anxiety issues and such, so pls note that I’m not invalidating your condition. If you’re trying to be more interactive, I really appreciate it! If you can’t, that’s fine too. You’re trying.

But for the people who have no reason other than feeling lazy to rb and comment, your lack of interactiveness is not excused. Please. Tumblr is a reblogging site. If you’re gonna consume content like authors are some sort of machines, I encourage you to go get some more perspective.

This site is not Instagram or the satan bird app. Your likes are appreciated but frankly speaking, they do nothing to the author except tell them “Hey i read ur fic but i'm not gonna support u :D” and honestly, that is detrimental to their creative capabilities and mental health. 

DON’T FOLLOW AN ACC JUST TO MINDLESS RB THEIR SIGNAL BOOST POSTS AND THEIR REBLOGS OF GIFS AND NOT INTERACT WITH THEIR WRITING AT ALL ! Trust me, authors prefer a lower amount of interactive followers than a high count that doesn’t even give them any feedback. Again your follows are appreciated, but when you’re following, you know the type of content the author creates, so the author expects that the more followers, the more interactivity. These days, this is just becoming the opposite. So don’t do it! If you’re gonna follow to read, interact with their works. I promise, this will make both you and the author happy. A win-win situation.

In conclusion: SUPPORT YOUR FUCKING AUTHORS! THEY ARE NOT MACHINES THAT HAVE NO FEELINGS TO PRODUCE CONTENT FOR YOU! FICS TAKE DAYS AND DAYS OF PLANNING, PLOTTING, OUTLINING, WRITING, EDITING, MAKING TEASERS. SO JUST SHOW THEM YOU APPRECIATE THEM WITH AN RB. IT’S THE L E A S T YOU CAN DO.

25. What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?

I really enjoy the brainstorming/outlining. I like to add fun things into the details of my stories, but also since I want to write longer fics sometimes my brain likes to just ooze out bursts of text and paragraphs to buff out later. There's no in between. I definitely just love talking about what I will add and wish to do in the story and then see how it eventually differs off once I get the ball rolling to see how much of my concepts have changed. To answer the question, it's definitely brainstorming/general story planning. I love making my silly little bullet points and titling my silly little chapters that will eventually either stick or change. ♡｡:+*

45. What genre/trope do you tend to write the most?

I write the most for romance. I just love romance in every single thing ever. Whether it be the love of life or the romance of a new, blossoming love. Love is just a vast, ever-changing emotion and flexible feeling to work with. It's a versatile thing. Romance can take even dark turns to become something twisted and other times it is the most gentle thing ever like an s/o kissing your fingers. I also really, really love writing sibling dynamics. Family is so, sooooo unique. The dynamics are GREAT. ♡｡:+*

38. What is your most self-indulgent posted story?

Definitely "The Orthodox Stance" and "A Rose by Any Other Name". Those are incredibly ridiculous and self-indulgent that there is just no need other than to test my abilities. ♡｡:+*

61. In [insert fic], what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?

The scene from AUA, where they're going on that arcade date and it's just.. a mess. So much miscommunication, more comedy to fix the error of ones ways. It really was such a joy to write.

65. If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would happen in it?

For the Orthodox Stance it would definitely be just more in depth moments between them. I feel like I didn't give more to Wakasa and Reader in that fic, and I feel like there's so much more scenes to add! So I would just rewrite it, but add more and more. Maybe even some silly little established relationship concept between them. The both of them trying to see how they can navigate being an item.

For AUA, I think it would be a "we're-dating-but-no-we're-not" scenario. Expect a lot of banter and more comedy of errors. They're a mess, I say.

hey so I was wondering if you had any advice for dialogue?

I don't have any problems with making it flow or sound natural but I've found that I tend to condense conversations as much as possible. when I write them out really long I feel like it's kind of droning on and people might find that boring, but I'm not sure if it actually is or if that's just part of being an author

I absolutely love the pacing in Taking Shots and am using it as a model for the fic I'm currently working on, and i noticed that the dialogue in that one tends to be pretty long but still so enjoyable to read. how do you do it?

yeah i’ll hit you with a few tips and tricks. welcome to above the cut, meet you down below

so step one when you’re writing something is to come to terms with the fact that you’re writing something. no matter what you do, opinions will vary. some people really like meandering dialogue, some people prefer things quick and snappy, and there’s always going to be arguments about it if you put it up for critique. if you’re writing a story or dialogue, longer tends to work well because it helps slow down pacing. with comics and animations and things like that, dialogue needs to be really to-the-point. neither is right or wrong, they’re different toolsets for different situations. you’ll find yourself settling into a pattern more naturally eventually, somewhere on the spectrum between Ulysses and Letterkenny, and trying to get out of the mindset of overall self-consciousness will help a ton. instead, working with it on a level closer to “is this taking the right amount of time in the story” would be a good start. vibes matter.

if your problem is you feel like the dialogue should take up more time, i can break down a couple things i tend to do that make conversations take more time. eventually you start doing this meandering naturally, but like most other things, knowing the vocabulary for it helps a lot.

first on the list is the classic blundering. characters forgetting the word they’re looking for and fishing for it (with the additional perk of making that word emphasized) misunderstanding each other and needing things rephrased (which also helps with stressing and clarifying to the reader that something is potentially important, or to clarify cloudy events or situations), or slips of the tongue that are then stumbled over for a few back-and-forth volleys (helping either endear the character to the reader or make them seem more fallible to whoever they’re talking to). you don’t necessarily need to slam the entirety of Who’s On First into every bit of dialogue, but misunderstandings can be good for comedic potential, stressing important plot information, and overall just making characters seem more human. i have a problem of talking too fast, and the amount of times i hear “what’d you say?” in my day-to-day is staggering. it’s something people do!

second, getting off track altogether. elaborating maybe more than absolutely necessary and having characters go into more detail can give insight into what a character finds important—a quick sidebar to talk about an individual can tell you a lot. a character saying “and i knew his niece, she plays soccer, really nice kid, heard she’s headed to college soon” paints a different character portrait than “he always wears these really clean shined shoes, wingtip, the classic kind” paints a different portrait than “guy is tall, walks with a cane, bushy mustache, talks like he’s always chewing gum”, each telling you different things about the person speaking. what they notice and feel is important to share tells you a lot about them, and sidebars can help fill a lot of gaps. besides that, getting off track to explain something the others don’t really know about and to argue the finer points of things does the same function.

third, you can have characters repeat things, rehash things. a character hears a story and repeats back an overview, occasionally getting corrected, questioning finer points and giving the other one a while to elaborate and defend themselves. you can have a new character be introduced to a joke familiar to the audience, giving them a chance to chime in on it. really, it’s good for establishing where characters stand with each other, whether they’re on the same page. characters bringing up things about recent events, the environment, current tasks, it can all be related to seeing how the characters all individually feel about the situation. clarifying questions make it clear where the characters misunderstood or want to know more, and can help as an insight for the audience to preemptively answer questions.

i’m sure there’s more than that. it helps to essentially slow down while you’re writing, to let the characters meander. you might know where a conversation is headed, but the characters often don’t, and giving them the time to get there on their own terms can get you a pretty solid word count. my most important policy is always that i only ever have characters get in conversations that i care about. pretty much every talk you’ve seen in my stuff—definitely all of them in the RB series��have been ones that i enjoyed, even looked forward to. letting characters riff for a while is really fun to me.
