Anyway, MORE INFO about Tucker, Jazz and Sam’s outfits!! My HC is that the ancients used to be prevalent in society but people stopped worshiping them so they stopped interacting with humans. Even if the ancients wanted to interact with people they have been in the infinite realms for so long they can’t relate to humanity anymore. So Clockwork along with some other Ancients decided to take successors to do what they normally would in the human realm, knowing that a younger ghost would care more about humanity.

So you may or may not know about that ep. Where Tucker becomes a pharaoh but I really wanted to lean into that and have him be mentored by Horus, bc he’s protector of Pharaohs and just a symbol of protection in general and Tucker is a great embodiment of that, so OFC Horus would give him a nemes headdress, and Tucker would give his look a more modern, comfortable style with a hoodie and his regular cargo pants.

Undergrowth would definitely take Sam under his wing, after having to profusely apologize for using mind control against her. She made her outfit herself, like she does with all her clothes, using the gaudy dresses her parents buy her instead of throwing them out. Undergrowth would teach her how to use the plants as her eyes, (bc in my au Sam is legally blind) and so she has him embroider plants in her clothes.

And last but definitely not least we have Jazz! My thought is that Pandora would mentor her, and become a great mother figure to her and Danny. Pandora has her hands full guarding the box, but she wants to rid the world of its evils, and Jazz wants to help do that. Pandora insisted that “she is a princess, she must dress like one!” And made Jazz a beautiful dress from the finest silks she had. She even gifted her a beautiful tiara to match. Jazz is absolutely loving it bc what teenage girl doesn’t want to feel like a princess?!

And if your wondering who Danny’s mentor is… mostly clockwork, but all the ghosts have taught him a thing or two. Nocturn is definitely a father figure to Danny. He spends a lot of time with him, letting the boy ramble on about space for hours, as he sits and listens. He also makes sure Danny gets enough sleep, and that his dreams are pleasant. With the help of clockwork, he sometimes gives Danny prophetic dreams to help him with what is to come.

- He often sees Finn around school and then sees the bullies, in the beginning of the movie when Robin so casually walks into the bathroom while Finn is with them. He already knew Finn was in there and was just waiting, WAITING. For his grand entrance.

- Robin always makes sure he has contact with Finn while they're together, to a pinky hold to have his arm around his shoulder. He is always making sure that he is making contact with him.

• Finn only rambles about space to Robin.

- Finney gets embarrassed when he starts to ramble about space to any of his friends, he makes sure to stop himself but when he's around Robin, he can't help but start to ramble because Robin listens and engages.

- Robin knows Finney feels embarrassed about the constant rambling, but he finds it absolutely adorable so he makes sure that he's always paying attention. Especially to the little things like why Jupiter is Finn's favorite planet.

• Robin makes songs for Finney.

- Robin has a guitar and he knows how to play it amazingly, so. Whenever Finney comes over, he'll pull it out and start singing and playing it for him. He made the songs for him, but tells him that they weren't made by him. He feels embarrassed that he made songs for him.

- Finney eats that shit up, he generally does believe that Robin is just singing covers of these songs, but if he didn't. He wouldn't care, he just loves Robin's singing voice and loves how he plays.

• Robin only watches horror space movies with Finney.

- Finney is scared of horror movies, they freak him out, but he also loves space.

- Robin absolutely loves horror movies, and he can't watch anything else. So, he finds space horror movies and watches them with Finney.

- Finney and Robin's favorite movie is Alien, Robin himself, favorite is Predator. Finney loves Alien. So whenever they hangout and watch a movie, those are the ones that get played the most. Other than Texas Chainsaw massacre!

• Robin turns Finney into a Juagglo.

- Robin is a huge Juggalo, he's already made Vance and Griffin Juggalo. So who's next? His boyfriend obviously!

- Finney didn't like it at first, but he eventually did and now him and Robin listen to it all the time.

- Finney drew two hatch people holding hands, he made sure to add features that make them look like him and Robin. One has a bandana and a bandage wrapped around the fist, the other has rockets and stars around it.

• Finney likes quality time and physical touch and Robin likes to buy Finney things and physical touch.

- Finney absolutely loves the time he spends with Robin, he also never stops touching him. He always has his arm hooked around the others or is holding his head. He also just loves the time he spends with Robin because he knows it'll be amazing.

- Robin loves to buy things for Finney, little rockets or things that are related to space or even things that remind him of Finney. He also loves his physical touch. He'll have his pinky hooked around Finney's, or his arm hung around the other.

- Finney hates accepting the gifts, he feels bad when he gets them. The fact Robin spent money on him, or the fact he didn't get him anything even though it was a surprise gift. He still cherishes them all.

• Finney's dad HATES. Robin.

- Terrence absolutely despises Robin, gets "a bad vibe" from him. He also just thinks he's gonna turn his son gay. Cough cough

- Robin also despises Terrence. He knows how he treats the kids and he just doesn't fuck with it.

• Gwen and Robin are besties.

- Robin made, MADE. Gwen his best friend. Him and Finney started dating and he was like "Yep, we are the best of friends now." Even if they were close before they got together.

• Gwen Blake.

- Robin and Finney have basically adopted Gwen, she is their child. Practice child, actual child. Doesn't matter, they see her as their kid.

- When Robin goes to the store and buys Gwen her favorite snacks/drinks, he only does this if he is going from his house to Finney's, because Grab 'n go in on the way.

why you like ruggie sm? (Not to be rude but it actually got me interested to ask about my moots favs)

I think I answered this like once bc one person asked me that in the past but YOU KNOW WHAT???? WHO AM I TO DENY ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO RAMBLE ABOUT MY BELOVED RUGGIE<3333 (also dw I didn't take it as it being rude, sometimes we wonder why people like certain characters sm and that's understandable especially if you yourself can't feel the same way about the character lmao)

This might be long so my answer will be under the cut!

I have like. So many reasons so I need to go onto topics. Ok, first!!! Let's take the more superficial stuff outta the way

Sometimes I start liking certain characters because I find them beautiful, for Ruggie it was because I found him cute lol I remember until today the day I read his Ceremonial Robes for the first time and I saw his vignette and my brain stopped functioning bc I thought he was the cutest thing I've ever seen and I couldn't stop thinking of how cute he was and how badly I wanted to bite his cheeks—

Ok, now that the superficial stuff is outta the way, let's start why I actually like Ruggie and why his personality captivates me!! Some of these stuff will relate to me as a person which is why I grew so fond of Ruggie

Ruggie is someone who's very persistent and very determined, I remember reading book 2 for the first time and while I didn't like him yet I felt so bad for him, but I was so admired by how he kept going and trying; in the manga this is particularly well depicted!! The way he lays on the ground in pain as Leona urges him to give up but he says NO because Ruggie will never give up on achieving his dream of having a more stable and secure life😭😭😭😭 it breaks my heart and it makes me admire him as an individual. Yes, we have characters who are also determined and striving to do their best, but none of them come close to how Ruggie is, at least not in my view. I think the fact that Ruggie had such a tragic life is why I admire him so much, he could've given up so easily, just lived through the motions and hated the world for his situation, but Ruggie still pushed through, he's still there doing his best and this is one of his biggest qualities, I'll never shut up about it💙

As someone who's very family oriented and dreams of building my own family because mine kinda. Ya know (children of divorce where y'all at). Because of that I really relate to how family oriented Ruggie seems to be and how he loves his community. I call Ruggie family oriented because you can clearly see that grandma Bucchi is his priority, he doesn't only work for himself but for her as well, he doesn't want to give only himself a good future but grandma Bucchi as well :( his way of dealing with children and taking care of them also warms my heart, it makes me super happy to know he cares and loves the children in his neighborhood, and I love seeing how he deal with them in general... His Portfest vignette is one of my favorites, because it's him calming a crying child and helping them find their parent 🥹💙

I think it also goes without saying that as a human I love cheering for the underdog, the person who came from nothing but was able to succeed... The fact that Ruggie had absolutely every odd against him (he's an orphan, and we all know how it's hard for children to grow up and succeed without parents, especially without a father figure; he's poor, meaning he has no connections and resources to invest on himself; heck, he didn't even go to school before NRC😭). I adore Ruggie's resilience, I'm sure he felt lost, hurt and sometimes he might've wanted to give up, but the fact that he's still there trying to grow... I admire him a lot for that💙

Anyways this was a lot😭 if I think about this more I can probably figure out even more reasons as to why I like him but rn these are what I can immediately think of.... In short, I love Ruggie and I want him to achieve all his dreams and goals, live a happy life with a lot of money, food and love😊💙

Bruce Wayne Headcannons:

had the BIGGEST Dinosaur hyperfixation as a kid. This is said because I have read two (2) things in the past three days where Bruce mentioning relatives took him to the museum to see dinosaurs LIKE COME ON. He probably knows all about Dinosaurs and it's like a sleeper agent waiting to be activated in him, he probably saw Booster somehow bring back the Jurassic league and had to keep his face neutral as batman while his brain was clocking what each and every dinosaur was. This is where he finally finds some common ground with Damian as well in the early days probably, tentatively trying to form a bond with his biological son and the only way of knowing how is finding something that the kid is interested in and bring up something related to it. That's how Bruce ended up rambling about prehistoric ancestors of common animals for a solid hour in the bat cave.

Transfem Bruce absolutely wears pearls like her mother. Is it to honor and to mourn her or is it to keep up the act of a young socialite? It's probably both. It's probably both a comfort and a heavy weight against her neck, because in some sense her mom is here with her, but in another sense the pearls just seem to weight her down, and one wrong move and all the pearls could go tumbling onto the floor from a broken and improperly knotted cord and she would unintentionally have a recreation of that night in the alley way except this time it's on the marble tiled floor and the blood is only in her memories...

Bruce in general however I think wears his dad's cufflinks or watches pretty regularly while in socialite society. He needs to keep a piece of his parents with him he needs to. Their wedding rings are still in his room, untouched because he doesn't think he's ever going to find someone that he'd love enough that would marry him but accept the job he has to do. He was so close with Selina and Talia but those both crumbled in unforseen ways and it hurt badly, so for now the old wedding rings just stay in his room, not getting used but always staying with it's other half.

I think if Cass were to ever wear pearls she'd look so much like Martha Wayne that Bruce would cry a little. I think Bruce finds qualities in all his kids that I think he would relate to his parents even though they're not biologically related. it's small things really, like interests and certain mannerisms that shouldn't remind him of them but they do. I think each Batkid also gets a Wayne heirloom as well, I just don't know what it would be but the kids are debating it out and Bruce is just sighing and putting down what he plans on leaving for the kids.

Also on the topic of Wills, he does have video messages for the kids if he ends up dying. It's canon, but I think he personalizes them more and records them late at night when the kids are asleep or each one was recorded while he was stuck in the cave on "bed rest". He also recorded one for Alfred in the possibility that he died before the butler did... He misses Alfred a lot...

Which Martha/Thomas/Alfred polycule is canon in my heart goddamn it. All three of them were Bruce's parent and Bruce would absolutely agree about it.

Speaking of Polycules, my opinions on Bruce's sexuality depends on what would better fit a story. like yeah no that man can be Bi, he can be on the aroace spectrum, he can even be poly. I personally like to keep him on the aroace spectrum so he has all three As (Aro, Ace, and Autistic!)

Speaking of Autism!! He is so autsitic and those that don't believe so... Like are we reading the same source material?? That man has such a strict moral code, refuses to put on a Kevlar vest unless it's light and flexible, has struggles communicating and struggles with tone so that most times his words can be read as very monotone, literally has a very blunt way of saying stuff just!! Also I will point at Damian and say that Autism is hereditary and out of Bruce and Talia which one would you expect to have Autism hm? cause Damian is definitely not a neurotypical child!

also yes he had a fear of bats as a child, but I believe after the getting shot and having a bat land in his father's study that Bruce absolutely went into a major rabbit hole to find out everything there could be to know about bats. He researched what bats eat, how they communicate, Natural habitats, all of it. It even got to the point where he learned how to get the bats that reside in the bat cave to trust him and actually come and land on him because he'll offer them food. He has names for all of them and everything and the batkids lose their minds about it every time. Damian wants Bruce to teach him how to do this because this is Damian, the kid who loves animals to death.

Bruce hasn't watched the mask of Zorro ever since his parents died. It brings up too many traumatic memories for him and he just doesn't know if he could watch the film again. i'll give the name here as well as my reasoning for it: i named the little one izumi! reason being because that name means spring, and apart from the countless artworks i saw of the precious bean being surrounded by sakura trees, it's also because back when i did the third act of sumeru for the first time and watched kuni's cutscene very thoroughly and with lore crafter intent ( while crying ) i saw the little boy and his design, color scheme wise to be specific, and it reminded me of sunflowers. while doodling little drawings for the concept, the name izumi popped in my head and i was like "you know what? that just sounds about right honestly."

if you read the title for the seventh chapter, the name "kuzou" is not the name i chose, it's just a little trick of mine and because of a hc i hope to elaborate on in that specific chapter <3

as for the angst........ yeah now that i think about it a little more, i feel a tiny bit sorry ^-^

Can you just…ramble about romy ronance and explain everything? I know absolutely nothing about X-men but I’m seeing the art and I know your ronance ideas are always killer so I am confused yet invested at the same time

of course anon!! i’ll have to admit this one isn’t very well thought out and all in good fun, but the idea of romy ronance is so intriguing to me

so! romy is the ship between rogue and gambit in the marvel comics. rogue and gambit are both mutants. rogue's mutant power is that she can absorb someone else's powers and memories through touch alone. she once held on too long to captain marvel (carol danvers) and permanently absorbed her powers of flight, super strength, and near invulnerability. when rogue absorbs memories and whatnot it's basically like. that person living inside her head. rogue put her first boyfriend in a coma (accidentally!!) when her mutant powers manifested. rogue is also known for calling everyone "sugar" bc shes a Southern Gal(tm) from mississippi! in the comics tho it's often written as "sugah" bc they wanna make sure people know it's a southern accent lolol

gambit's powers are related to kinetic energy manipulation. he can charge inanimate objects and essentially make them into bombs. he can also resist telepathic attacks (which is. very useful in the xmen universe.) he also has like, a hypnotic charm as part of his abilities but that's just like, a cherry on top thing. he's also cajun, and a former member of the thieves guild, but you don't need to know any of the thieves guild stuff for romy ronance

anyway. rogue and gambit have a very sweet relationship. they genuinely care for each other and they really do love each other. just so much. it's already frustrating enough for rogue to not be able to touch anyone (hence the gloves and why she often covers gambit's mouth with her hand and then kisses the back of her hand--and why she's always covered up!) and with gambit it's just a touch more frustrating bc she wants to kiss him!! but she can't!!! she has to be so careful and so methodical to ensure the fact that she does NOT make skin to skin contact with anyone--that includes just a brush of skin. like bumping into someone.

but rogue and gambit have very fun pet names for each other. gambit's favorite is "chère." my personal favorite that rogue uses is "swamp rat" (lovingly).

there's a lot of things im not going into here just because we'd literally be here all day if i continued any more rogue and gambit lore.

now onto the ronance stuff:

nancy as rogue to me makes the most sense just because. trauma. and also the meticulous attention to things. but mostly trauma (and you knowwww it's barb related, babey!)

im not gonna lie. gambit robin came to me just because robin knows french (and spanish and italian etc etc) but i got the mental image of robin calling nancy "chère" and thus, romy ronance was born. plus i've been like. neck deep in xmen stuff since i finished watching xmen '97 a few months ago (which is a phenomenal show, btw. definitely recommend) other than that i can't really explain it. ronance is just so romy coded... to me. rogue and gambit are both very like. ride or die. which is another ronance quality. and rogue specifically is like. i don't know how to explain it. but there's just a overlapping nancy quality there somewhere...

obviously i don't think nancy is exactly like rogue and i don't think robin is exactly like gambit, but there are some parts of those characters that really do just. make sense for the two.

Answering for Lahpp bc the brainworms got me bad the last 2 years.

A. What nicknames do they get called?

None, really. Unless employee numbers count as nicknames. I've made a joking comment about how Petthri would start calling him Gecko for absolutely no logical reason other than me being amused that the man's voice claim actor played a character with that name in a super niche musical. This isn't canon. But it makes listening to relevant songs funny.

B. Describe their family dynamic.

Non-existant. Didn't even have an official legal guardian until Rata Sum authorities required related paperwork for school stuff. There was the subkrewe that handled surveillance of his 'progress' and the head of the project was sort of 'in charge' of him but whatever relationship they had was nothing remotely comparable to a family. I think to this day he's got the hardest time wrapping his head around the concept of family relationships, other than of course the purely biological explanation.

C. What’s their weirdest habit or quirk?

Does consuming more coffee than anyone feasibly should count? I'm not even sure this man drinks anything else. Probably, but seriously unsure. Just don't question it, it hasn't killed him yet.

D. What was their high school college experience like?

This is one of those "20k essay; 1000 different amv scenarios" topics. In short: difficult, exhausting, but not as bad as it could have been.

On a social level he always felt like the odd one out and didn't have much contact to the other students, but he was never actively disliked or anything of the sort. Him being generally rather distant and observant probably intimidated a few people, as well as him being Inquest. Group projects went smoothly though, and interactions were superficially friendly. Just comparatively rare.

Work-wise he had to put in so much more effort than many others because of his disabilities, all while trying to be as stealthy as possible about it so noone would notice. He excelled in many challenges, didn't manage to hide all of it however; some things he simply couldn't do. Uncomfortable for him.

He was a really good student overall.

Also as a side anecdote, he got the typical "can you speak up please" a lot even though he was a front row regular. Soft-spoken guy.

E. What is their love language?

He's the "invite someone to go out for dinner" type. Spend some good quality time. He might get invested in the relevant person's interests too. Ask about them, enable some rambling, or ideally an interesting discussion.

F. How do they handle conflict?

That depends entirely on the kind of coflict and who or what is involved. Can range from "take the lead and try to find the most efficient solution" to "remove himself from the situation and just not deal with it at all".

G. What’s their greatest talent?

Developed mad acting & pokerface skills. He can smile through the most annoying social situations and you wouldn't guess he hates every single second of it. If he actively wants to give you that impression, that is. Sometimes he just doesn't bother.

H. Where is their favourite place to be?

Not sure if he has a consciously picked favourite place but he's comfortable enough in the small studio room connected to his lab. Made it a decently livable place. It's tiny (very tiny) but that's fine, he doesn't need much space. It's a place of peace and quiet, and that's what matters.

I. What makes them feel safe?

Good question! Next question.

J. What is their greatest weakness?

He's a coward who resigned himself to a life in a corrupt, hateful, criminal system. He was target of that very same system's bigotry for ages but he turns a blind eye on it out of fear and a lack of willingness to change anything. He's content being a simple cog in the machine, not caring about what its greater purpose is. is this what Camus calls philosophical suicide

Maybe one day he'll overcome the cowardice to face some difficult truths. Probably not.

K. What is their greatest strength?

If he says he'll get shit done, he gets it done. He's got an incredible amount of perseverance.

Especially in his teenage years this often meant choosing the path of more resistance simply to spite the people who would assume he wouldn't manage certain things. Even if those people would never actually know. He had to at least prove it to himself under the guise of acting out of spite. Is that even a strength anymore or actually a flaw? A strength born from flawed thinking?

L. What is their secrets to happiness?

Don't have anything change, find comfort in living the convenient lie. The illusion of happiness is good enough.

M. How do they handle competition?

If it's the kind of "who wins the monthly nonfatal pool by putting the most life subjects in a vegetative state" small-ego-competition then he simply doesn't care. Not because he has any moral issues with it but because he think it's a waste of time and just distracts from the actual tasks at hand.

If it's "the events in Cantha have put you in a physical and mental state that prevents you from working; and staying away on sick leave for a prolongued amount of time will eventually get you replaced despite decades of dedication" sort of competition then he doesn't handle it well at all. And he doesn't even believe anyone else could do his job better than him. Somehow that actually makes it worse.

N. What are their hidden talents?

Music. Got curious about the general topic in college. And in true spiteful (big fat disclaimer: asshole statement) "Oh you're severely HoH so this is clearly not for you" fashion, he decided this is exactly for him to get invested in. He got really into the theory part especially but also picked up an instrument (undecided which one. the decision has been haunting me for months.) to play.

Later when he met Luqqah they found out it's an interest they have in common so they spent a lot of time just either discussing or analyzing theoretical concepts or actually making some music. Luqqah taught him how to sing over the years! It's something he had wanted to learn well before he met her but very much lacked the confidence to start on his own.

He hasn't lost that passion over all these years, even if he didn't get to share it with anyone in a while. Post-EoD music trio incoming?

O. What motivates them?

In the past: Mostly fear with a good portion of spite.

Now: Mostly habit. Some underlying fears.

P. What advice would they give to their younger self?

If he could look past his own facade he'd likely tell his younger self to keep kindling at least a bit of that spiteful fire he had.

He does sometimes feel like he's lacking more "bite" the older he gets.

Q. Do they have a signature look or fashion?

Always got that eye piece on covering his left eye. You'll not encounter him without it. If you do, something's either wrong or you've somehow invaded into private space.

He spends the majority of his time working which means the majority of the time you'll find him in a labcoat. He also keeps his hair tied up for practical reasons.

His "casual" outfits are still surprisingly formal looking. He wants to leave a decent impression, you know. I'm awful at describing clothes so I'll skip this one until I one day inevitable draw it, but he's big on waistcoats and likes different shades of brown.

R. How tall are they?

Listen friends I'm really bad at understanding the gw2 race heights and putting them in perspective, but I assigned him a confident 98 cm (3'2") which in my world view is somewhere in the average middle. Not super short, not tall.

S. What’s their relationship like with their parents?

Somewhat answered in the family dynamics question. As for his biological parents, he never knew them. His -on paper- legal guardian wasn't much of a parental figure. Did it fuck him up growing up without any real guiding figure to look up to? Sure. Did it take time for him to understand that this is not the normal experience every child has? Unsure if he actually ever fully understood. Rationally he does, but emotionally this is a different matter.

T. What are their favourite foods?

He's really gotten into wasabi.

U. What do they like to do in their spare time?

See the music answer. Also reading an interesting book in a quiet environment is always a good pastime.

V. What’s their biggest pet peeve?

So he's generally really good at keeping his cool but he's got absolutely zero (0) patience for several people talking over each other in the same time. There's a reason he demanded his own lab space when everyone moved over to the CoE.

W. What’s their favourite sport?

If dancing is considered a sport (I believe it is?) Petthri might eventually get him to be interested enough as a spectactor. Let that be a future arc.

Otherwise literally no interest in any at all.

X. What’s their biggest fear?

Death. And I don't mean it in a 'most people find thinking about their own mortality uncomfortable' way, I mean it in a seriously phobic way. It keeps him up at night. He's had numerous seriously bad panic attacks over it. Based important decisions on it.

There was a time of his life it got somewhat better but it's catching up to him again recently.

Y. What physical object do they value most?

Whatever omious instrument I'll decide on that he owns will probably be valuable to him. I have no idea otherwise.

Z. What’s their relationship status?

Officially single (and it will stay that way). Unofficially complicated.

Hi, I'm back 😩

Sorry for just like, dropping off the face of the earth there for a hot minute, but my life has been this specific brand of absolute dogshit that has left me hiding under the floor boards - quite literally - since mid october, and I'm only just starting to get my battery back to like, maybe 10% again now.

TMI under the cut, and probably quite a bit of a ramble;;

SO.

Life has been shit. Like, shit shit.

Like, I'm warning you now, this is trauma and abuse shit.

Suffice to say that I'm the kind of person who tends to get taken advantage of and not speak my feelings or stand up for myself. It comes from a place of pretty severe trauma and mental illness, of course, but knowing that and knowing myself doesn't make things any easier in my life really. It just makes me self-aware and subsequently frustrated at my own slow progress.

For example, at present: I've been locked inside my room since the above mentioned, mid october. I have to ration food and water, I can't be too loud for fear of being caught, I sneak out for one bathroom break a day, if I'm lucky, and I have had to work with sanitary wipes instead of showers since this bullshit began - which is fine for the body, but fucking useless for the hair 🤷‍♂️ this wouldn't be such an issue if I didn't have eczema, but I do and so I am suffering, I guess.

Why, do you ask? What has caused this situation? Stupidity has caused this, my friend. Stupid people including my stupid self.

For a bit of backstory context: Several years back, I was chased out of my house by an abusive family member. It was 30 below and I had nowhere to go but, I remembered someone offered to help me, if I ever needed it - so I ended up on his doorstep! He happily took me in as he was like a father to me. There was no expectations for me, it was clear I was abused and traumatised (I was horribly malnourished and anemic at the time) and I was a naturally reclusive and quiet person anyways. So they gave me an old dusty room and left me be.

They being him and his father. For simplicity's sake, we will call them Dad and Gramps. I'll start by saying that I love and adore my Dad. Also, I don't hate Gramps, despite all he's done to me. Even if sometimes I think I should.

Gramps is an old cowboy. Crass and backwards and poorly educated. He's spent his whole life working and drinking and smoking and driving really really fast. He thinks insulting people is how you make friends and his favourite past time as a young man was starting fights. He's had several failed marraiges and has several dozen people (related or not) that call him dad. He's done more than anyone that I've ever met but that also means he thinks he knows more than anyone and no one can tell him what's wrong or right.

He's got a lot of good and bad qualities. Is what I'm saying.

Among those bad qualities, unfortunately, is sexual harassment. Which, I suppose should have been a very clear and blarring warning sign right from the beginning but, as a survivor of child abuse and SA, my boundries have always been miles behind from where they should be. Additionally, I had nowhere else to go 🤷‍♂️ it took several months and me getting visibly angry with him and telling him about my previous abuse before he finally stopped slapping my ass but, his language towards me never really fully went away;;;

Despite this, I stayed. I was unemployed and terribly ill and struggling to get through my previous traumas and depression, so I stayed and helped around the house however I was able to make up for me occupying space. The room I was staying in was musty and filled with mice and their filth, so I had to clean the space. The big old bed was filled with droppings (inside the boxspring especially) but Gramps refused to let me get it replaced unless someone would pay for it. So I layered it up with a dozen blankets and it's still the bed I sleep on to this day. In my brain, it wasn't much different from the bed that I had as a child, so I just put up with it 🤷‍♂️

As the years went on, my health continued to decline. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong, they tossed around words like 'heart failure' but wouldn't confirm a diagnosis. My muscle wasted and I was never able to catch my breath, I started having fainting spells. At my worst, I would spend days in bed.

Despite all this, I somehow became Gramps's unofficial caretaker. Unbeknownst to me, his whole family couldn't stand to put up with him because he would complain for sympathy and demand to be waited on hand and foot. I can't deny that I'm gullible, so when he started his sob stories, I went out of my way to help. If you can't tell by now, my fawn response is pretty strong - I've been told more than once to consider myself before other people but, it just never occures to me in the moment, I guess.

And so, I took care of him. No matter how aggrivating he was, no matter how often he belittled me or insulted me, no matter how stubborn he was or how little he listened to me; no matter how disgusted I was at the kind of things he suggested to me. It was nothing I hadn't dealt with before so I just 🤷‍♂️ put up with it - like an absolute fucking idiot.

This went on for several years.

It affected everything I did. My health never got better because I was too busy taking care of him (and others) to set time aside for myself. My friendships were impacted and even started to decay in several instances because of my declining mental state. It felt like, no matter how hard I tried to mend things with people, to keep up face and hold things together, it all just kept slipping through my fingers - until I had nothing to hold onto at all.

In the beginning of 2023, Gramps got diagnosed with cancer.

Now, an additional note that I should add here is that his family throughout all of this was entirely absent. In those several years I was caring for him, I was calling 911 nearly once a month for his heart or his breathing or because he stumbled and fell. I was helping him get dressed and cleaning his (and his friend's who is also an asshole old man) shit and piss off of the hallway and bathroom floors. I was cooking his meals and giving him baths and sitting on his bedside in the middle of the night when he had a breathing attack or got too lonely. I was buying his groceries and carting them up two flights of stairs, I was fixing his tv and enduring his fits of anger and yelling and pandering to every nonsense request he had on top of that. On top of all of my own problems, I was entirely alone in taking care of him.

When he got cancer, I was still entirely alone in taking care of him.

When he started getting angrier, more stubborn, more vocally abusive. When his diabetes spiked and his eyes started going blind and he was swearing and yelling at me because he didn't want to go to his appointments or use a walker or a wheelchair despite not being able to see 5 feet in front of him. When he refused to eat, when he refused to let me sleep.

When he started with the verbal threats of violence.

When he started touching me again.

And I had nowhere else to go.

I tried to ask for help. I genuinely did. Which is honestly a huge blarring warning sign for me because, if I'm asking for help, I'm probably close to a mental break - and I was - but, despite me saying, mulitple times to multiple people "I need help. I can't do this. I'm out of my depth. Can someone help me." No one ever did.

It all came to a head shortly after my friend group fell to pieces. I just wanted everything to turn off after that. Gramps and I got into an argument, a real proper one where I finally got angry back, and he took a swing at me and I decided that was enough. I was done. I went into my room and locked the door and curled up in bed and did my best to ignore his threats and his yelling. I cried until I fell asleep and thought about killing myself and I continued to think about it for the next two days. The entire time I was in there, he was upstairs, right above my head, promising to call the poliece to kick me out or promising to beat my face or break my neck.

I texted my Dad, I told him how I felt. He called his sister and she took over where I left off.

I still had nowhere to go 🤷‍♂️

So now, here I am, over 3 months into this bullshit. I filed for emergency housing within the following week of that madness and I've been hiding in this room and waiting ever since. My laptop was packed up in an emergency bag for the first month and a half / two months since I was in perpetual fear at that point of making even a whisper of noise or being caught without my bags packed and ready to go. I've had one dear and solid friend that's stayed with me and helped me through the worst of this all, even despite being an ocean away. Without them, I don't think I would have made it this far tbh.

So!

As you can probably tell, tumblr has been the LAST thing on my mind lately 😂 I've only really started coming back to it in the last month or so and I have just had no energy to put towards my blogs at all.

But, I'm slowly coming back!

I have a few drafts saved, so I'll probably trickle those in eventually. OL has been on my mind as of late, as well as BG3, which is why I'm posting here again at all. So, I hope to do something with this little sprout of inspiration that's managed to grow out of my head.

In the meantime, yeah 🤷‍♂️this is where I've been, under the floor boards, hiding in the dark, and just biding my time until I can escape.

Sorry for the long ramble! But also, not sorry at all, because this is my blog and all that 😂 For me, it's nice to finally put all this down somewhere, at the very least. Hopefully I won't have anything to complain about again for a long while after this. Honestly, I'm just hoping that I get that email soon that says there's finally somewhere safe for me.

Harry/Colin can be very fun when playing with angst, like watching Colin maybe become something that he isn't as he's obsessed, or take it on the side of heartbreak, Harry saying (in his very blunt, Harry way) that he has absolutely no feelings for Colin. Set it during OOTP when Harry is a Grumpy Boy and it's even more sore, because I feel like he won't hold back.

I like the idea of using photography as a sort of prompt when it comes to Luna, like I think that's so cute, so fluffy <3 Like I suppose if you want to draw similarities or how they could relate to each other, they've both been kinda dismissed as a little haywire upstairs, or too weird, not really understanding of boundaries or how it is to "act normal" about things you like/think/believe in.

Now Percy/Colin... I gotta admit you're making me really think about it. A lot. :)

I love the way you've explain Colin, I find it hard to think of him as straight up creepy stalker, more like absolute idiot/cutie/lovesick/baby with no boundaries and combined with Percy I think that can be very cute. I sort of feel like Percy is the mother hen type, like the kind to show you he loves you by taking care of you and I think Colin would just absolutely be on board with that lol.

I do definitely prefer it postwar tho, like when Percy has those paranoid little layers and Colin (if he survived) would I think be a little traumatized. I think Colin is the type to not say when something is wrong, like a fake it 'til you make it guy and there's gotta be some quality hurt/comfort opportunities in that. Idk, just the idea of Colin always trying to put on a happy face and then failing and Percy taking care of him and learning how to take care of himself thru that is just so fun to me.

Another interesting idea could be vampire/werewolf Colin, you could either fall into obsessive vampire (fun!) combined with Colin's already hyperfixation self, (I think it'd be funny if he was still into photography but he didn't show up in the pics lol) or you could go for werewolf mates and becoming a werewolf was the only thing that saved him from dying during the battle.

Anyway, I've been rambling, I love the idea of that soulmate AU, the bit with Colin's dad just made me laugh and I'm going to read that fic :)

i feel like he originally proposed it from a genuine place of love. he wanted to be with you and call you his, but couldn't see himself being good enough for you because he would be too busy with the bat side of his life or because he would struggle with showing affection, resulting in him often coming across as cold and uncaring.

he definitely suprises himself though with how quickly he adapts to being in a relationship with you. like he's figured out your boundaries and your mutual favourite things to do very quickly

he's so confusing though, honestly like one day the relationship is just for show and mutual benefit and the next he's showering you with gifts and professing his genuine care for you

he never lets you down though, plans for dates always went ahead, even if they had to be rescheduled for some reason, and if they were rescheduled, he made sure to amp up the quality and make it even better than promised. (often the rescheduling was bat related, not that you knew that yet)

it's probably dawned on you many times that he's way too caring and affectionate (on those certain days) for it to just be a fake relationship to him

spoils you with gifts all the time, no matter how much you beg him not to he'll show up at your door with a large teddy bear and boquet of flowers, muttering something about it being alfred's idea (to which the said loyal friend swore he had absolutely no part in)

speaking of alfred, i just know he's your number one supporter. he's known it's a fake relationship since day one, but he always catches both of your lingering stares, longing eyes and slight blushes when the other is around

after a year it's no secret to everyone but the two of you that you had both genuinely fallen hard for eachother

you just both accidentally fall into the habit of saying things that were originally just to gain the public eye and convince them

bruce starts calling "bye, love you!" as he rushes out the door, only to freeze in the door way and audibly gulp, bolting out the door seconds later and leaving you alone with your mouth agape. safe to say alfred got a lot of panicked rambling from both sides that day

after bruce accidentally does it few more times, you kinda both just get used to it and even expect it, adipting more coupley tendencies along with it. like bruce no longer blames the spontaneous gifts on alfred, but instead accepts entire responsibility.

he's also recently found that he has a strong love for holding your hand or lying his head on your shoulder

tells you about the bat about a year in, it kinda just comes naturally because you're starting to feel like his real romantic partner, not just an accomplice im a publicity stunt

everyone that knew about it being fake has just kinda brushed it aside by now because what reasin was there to keep the act up for this long besides javing a genuine romantic connection?

everyone's noted the change in bruce too, he's still reserved and quiet, but it's very evident that he's not as moody or reserved anymore

he does get upset at the narrative that his love for you is fake very often, but it's nowhere near enough to convince him too confess

he genuinely confesses to you on one of your date nights, he's being followed by all sorts of journalists that're hounding him with tons of questions, including about you

"mr wayne! many critics have pointed out the flaws in your relationship with mx l/n, what do you have to say about that and are you really in love with them?" he justt kinda snaps and spins around, glaring at them angrily as they shrink back. "nothing about my love for them is fake. every word i say in private or public, every compliment i pay them on live tv is one thousand percent true" he snaps, slightly annoyed at himself for giving them what they want as they all thank him and scatter, clearly realising they've pushed him to the edge. "you... love me?" he literally freezes and slowly spins around, his throat going dry as he pales. all he can do is just meet your eyes and nod, a weak smile on his face as he searches your face for answers. the answers are given moment later when you kiss him and grin "i love you too, bruce"

after that day, everything is so much different but exactly the same at the same time. bruce and you are closer together than ever, emotionally and physically, often refusing to leave eachother's side for days, the onot exception being when bruce goes on patrols around gotham as the batman

Like it's a young woman, around 18 years old, who has a natural ability to communicate with all manner of Spirits, maybe even is part Spirit in some way, so she gets appointed by the King of Hyrule to teach Zelda how to do the same? Let's set the scene, yeah?

You were one of the descendants of Hylia from centuries past, now a ghost in the afterlife as part of the universe itself.

Naturally, you would be surprised when you became sentient once more and blinked open your eyes in the middle of Hyrule Field. In your head rang a soothing voice that you both heard in your head and felt in your bones. In an instant, you knew it was Hylia communicating with your physical form again after years of dormant sleep.

The voice instructed that you were to aid Zelda in her studies of connecting to her powers. Hylia could not intervene directly with Zelda, of course, but the most the Goddess could do was send someone in her place. And that was you: a descendant of Hylia's own bloodline resurrected from the dead come to help the princess in her efforts. Easy enough, right?

Convincing the King and his guards of the situation was difficult, let alone trying to get him to allow you to assist his precious daughter with her practice. The only proof that you had of any story that you told were the markings on your hands and chest.

Three distinct triangles etched themselves on your body: one on the back of each hand and the third on your chest. Your powers had long since been passed on to the next descendant of Hylia, but you were still full of the knowledge of how to use Hylia's gift and how to communicate with the spirits.

Link

Link was wary of you at first, being the princess's appointed knight and all, but he soon figured that you weren't as much of a threat as he initially thought

You were kind and excited to meet someone else who also held Hylia's gift (albeit not necessarily awakened, but still) and Link knew that Zelda would be safe in your hands

While going on spiritual treks with Zelda and Link, you almost always made the meals because both Zelda and Link can't really cook lmao

Coming from an entirely different era, you had a big book of recipes in your head that you brought into reality with every meal you made, and Link definitely wasn't complaining

He appreciated your wide breadth of knowledge of different foods, plants, and wildlife that you might encounter on your travels

It made planning protective measures for the princess all the easier

Sometimes the ventures to connect to Hylia didn't bear any fruit (and that's okay because the gift takes plenty of patience!) and the mood could become solemn quickly

But you were always determined to lift the mood and lighten everyone's attitude, and it always worked!

You would excitedly ramble off stories about where you grew up or what you liked to do on your own travels back in the day, and it would always make Link feel warm that you had such fond memories you were willing to share with him

When Zelda needed time to herself to try to connect to the spirits and Hylia, you and Link would hang around each other and bond

Link would listen attentively as you talked about the cultural and time differences between your world and this one, sharing sympathy when you expressed nostalgia over your time lost

But you would quickly turn it around to the positives, which is what Link thought was a wonderful quality that you had

If you ever got caught off guard while on ventures by the Yiga Clan or rogue animals, Link would fight just as hard as he would in larger battles to keep you safe

Over the time you spent together, Link grew very fond of you and always was at your side if he wasn't immediately attending to the princess

Once your guidance and knowledge finally broke through to Zelda and her power awakened, Link was so proud of you for fulfilling your duty

He was worried that you would disappear from his life once you completed Hylia's task, but you connected to the spirits after the fact and bargained with them

At the end of it all, you were able to live your life through again with Link by your side :)

Zelda

Goddess was Zelda relieved when she found out that she would be having a guide to help her unlock her powers

Upon meeting you, she was absolutely floored with your kindness and willingness to help her with her problems

You were a wonderful mentor to Zelda, teaching her things about the different spirits and how to harness the power that she never would have dreamed of researching on her own

And wow there was a lot of information HAHA

Zelda was also transfixed with the fact that you came from another lifetime, and you were more than happy to tell her all about your life before this one

She would also take very detailed notes about everything you said, enamored with the way you spoke and how excited you got about things you loved

Quiet study time in Zelda's room would often turn into challenges of you trying to make her laugh with small tidbits of stupid stunts you would pull

Of course Zelda couldn't hold back a smile when you were around, so the challenges would fall short but with you falling into fits of laughter

You always brightened Zelda's mood whenever she was down about a failed connection attempt, urging her to try more and be patient with herself

Zelda was thankful to Hylia for sending you because honestly she wouldn't know what to do without someone that was as kind and generous as you were with spreading knowledge about your gifts

And when they finally awakened, Zelda couldn't be more happy!

Hyrule was now safe with Zelda's power awakened and Ganon on the edge of being sealed away

She pleaded that you find a way to stay in her time and teach her more about the spirits and Hylia herself

Your heart warmed at the thought that someone wanted you to stay, and it warmed even more at the fact that someone loved you enough to want to keep you forever :)

Sidon

Sidon met you when he was summoned with the other Champion successors

You were the first to greet him and explain what had happened with the time jumping and all that, and you helped to put his nerves at ease

His own excitable and boisterous personality bounced off of your own energy and buzz!

Fighting side by side with you, Sidon admired how you always had a strategy and were looking out for Zelda as if she was your own sister

He was surprised upon learning your story: never had he known that Hylia had the power like that to bring someone back to help those in the present

Sidon tried his best to stay by your side whenever he could, wanting to keep your blind spots covered just in case

In your time, you had known the Zora and actually knew King Dorephan when he was a young little guppy, and your stories of Dorephan never failed to make Sidon laugh

Sidon in turn shared his own tales of the evolved Zora Domain, and you found his storytelling absolutely captivating

Sidon felt a pull to you like he had to no one else before, and he nurtured that pull with his own heart

He made sure you had enough supplies, checked in on you immediately when you came back from a far off mission

Just an all around softie I think! Sidon has always been caring like that :)

When it was time for him to go back, you discovered a way that you could jump with him back to his own time

After all, your mission with Zelda from Hylia was over. Why shouldn't you be able to live your life through again?

You jumped back with Sidon to a world vastly different than the one you had just been in, and even more different than the one you were born into

But with Sidon, it always felt like home!

Revali

Revali didn't want to be impressed, but he was Definitely Impressed

Your composure about the whole situation was amazing, and you handled all the questions everyone had with grace

And your kindness was overwhelming (in a good way) with the fact that you opened your mind to such possibilities of even being resurrected like that

Revali admired you through and through

He would be incessantly curious about what the afterlife was like, how the spirits communicated with you, what Hylia was like

You, of course, couldn't accurately answer most questions because, well, you couldn't remember, but you appreciated his desire to learn

You loved the way that he fought: with purpose and intent. There was little to no hesitation with Revali, he always had a plan

When you would go to treks with Zelda and Link to try to summon Zelda's power, Revali would make comments here and there insisting that he tag along just in case

Poor Rito really just wanted to spend more time with you, that's all!

If he did tag along, it would be to Lanayru with his knowledge of the cold weather

He would rattle off safety facts of mountain weather and gear you would need, and you would be happy to listen as long as he was talking to you

Revali would also love to hear about your old life, and since you could go on for hours about it all, he would sit and absorb everything that came out of your mouth

He was smitten in a matter of weeks!

He could see the care and sympathy you had for Zelda as she struggled and triumphed in her process of opening her powers, and he appreciated that you could care so much for someone like that

Revali subconsciously protected you even if there was a leaf that fell in the way of your path, as he was always on alert in case someone caught you off guard

As your time came to a close and Zelda awakened her powers, Revali demanded that you stay (with love, of course)

And stay you did, making a bargain with the spirits and living the rest of your second life in the company of the Rito warrior :)

oh yeah you’re new here huh. anyway i’m flattered that you ask but i absolutely will not be able to provide you a concise or coherent reply here. i have too many thoughts. and i can’t be objective about this character, despite Wanting to be analytical. i’m emotionally invested in a way that surely clouds my judgement. anyway. rambling under the cut.

look. there are just so many things that drive me completely fucking nuts about dirk specifically - his thematic substance and narrative role / utilisation, the way his portrayal reflects HS’s ideas about masculinity and toxic masculinity and sexuality (wowww dirk is just so masculine and rational and doesnt use labels, not like the other silly effeminite and emotional gays), the way he embodies the relationship between creator and creation.. the meta stuff, the philosophical stuff, postmodernist themes, the weighty existentialism, the moral quandaries, the ocean imagery, the isolation... there’s whole a lot for me to dig into, analytically speaking, a whole range of ideas i personally find compelling all packaged up in one extremely fucking weird boy. a boy who i like on the surface/story level, also. i think his brand of dry humour is funny, he’s a fun combo of rose and dave’s personalities, and i like his rapport with his friends, despite their conflicts and communication problems - he has some genuinely  sweet moments. he’s pretty badass, which is cool. he’s also kind of incredibly fucking tragic. assigned self destructive @ skaia. i can’t read him as anything but tragic, same as any of the alphas, which is why i love them. they’re all fatally flawed, but i feel for them, and would like them to overcome those flaws.

i was going to get into the ways the character is flawed / morally gray / a problematic fave but i really ran out of steam and don’t feel like trying to recreate the d*rkscourse that happens in my brain on a weekly basis. just know i think the ways he is flawed and the question of responsibility wrt his splinters and the harm they cause is also absolutely fascinating, and i’m willing to indulge some critical takes on the character because i like to punish myself for enjoying things i think seeing what this guy is like at his worst is sort of... integral to what i perceive to be the core of the character? the tension between his worse traits / selves and what i see as fundamentally good aspirations...  essentially big-brother-style protectiveness, warped by a less than healthy attitude / shitty ideals wrt to heroism and masculinity, as well as communication issues partially related to a commitment to self-aggrandising and insincere cooldude posturing. i think as a defence mechanism if the breakdown on the roof is anything to go by. i’m not sure if i’m correct in that read, but it’s what made sense to me. i’m going to re-read soon though, maybe this will change?

like... essentially, in homestuck proper - he’s not a villain but he really, really could be. he is, if you want to look at hal that way. the things dirk thinks are heroic (masculine/stoic/powerful/martyrdom) ideals are very much being deconstructed by homestuck as a work, that’s more what dave’s arc is about but it goes for dirk too. those ideas, especially as handled by “villainboy diva” prince dirk, are in some ways flawed and harmful and could be putting him into villain territory if he takes them too far... idk. the tension between dirk’s multiple selves embodying his worse qualities, vs his own genuine desire to do good, do better, despite what he comes to perceive as his own totally innate and inescapable flaws... ugh, maybe i’m just also a self absorbed and mentally ill piece of shit, but jesus christ that is fascinating to me? like... it’s really hard for me to not connect some of my own personal feelings and struggles to that conflict, even if the circumstances are Obviously not even remotely similar and i don’t want to project :/ (i totally do though)

okay okay okay so i have THOUGHTS, and i'm glad that you asked!

anyways, i'm on episode 2 of season 2! so still relatively early, but i can't wait to watch more! my current fave characters are shiv and willa, if only because i just . . . i really love shiv out of the three siblings? i pity kendall, and i'm slightly more intrigued in roman than i was at the start of season one--because like, idk, all the roy siblings are plainly not great people, but i can't help but want them to have . . . at least . . . somewhat okay lives? like, kendall's most sympathetic when you see him getting chewed out by logan + when you see him around rava and his kids (the season 1 finale when he's dancing with his kids . . . the song i wanna dance with somebody but the lyric being i wanna dance with somebody who loves me . . . and cutting to kendall . . . dancing with his children . . . yeah no i actually felt my heart twist at that scene). and roman's interesting to me in that he's like . . . a pretty textbook definition of an immature asshat, but when he has good moments, he seems to actually have good moments? (like, especially when they were all out at connor's house? because roman seemed to genuinely care if kendall was getting himself high or not, and i think there was partially guilt there on roman's behalf. but like. i think he does genuinely care about his older siblings, so i'm interested in seeing more of that depth.)

but rambling aside: shiv is probably the character i'm most drawn to, just because i always gravitate towards the oldest-and-only-daughter type characters. she's interesting to me in that she's separate from the company, and she's working politics, and i think that gives her some sense of I Am a Better Person Than the Rest of My Family--and maybe that's somewhat true, but from what i've seen, there's def. a seed of that roy family fucked-up-ness in her too, whether she likes it or not. but like, she's trying, i think. in her own way. she's manipulative, absolutely--but god, when she told nate in season 1 that "wouldn't it be nice to just...wake up in the morning and not feel like a shitty person?", my heart broke a little for her. my heart broke a lot for her when logan said "you're marrying a man beneath you because you're scared of being betrayed!" and my heart broke for her when she was rambling to tom about how she's not sure about her relationship with him but then ended it with "fuck, i love you" and oh boy oh god is she just a mix of all these little characteristics that i think are just genuinely, depressingly relatable in that she's smart + clever and seems to have it all but is pretty clearly Messed Up from her own perception of love + desire + etc etc etc. (so. it's delicious.)

i wish i could write. like. a whole essay on willa too, in that i didn't really know what to make of her character at first, and given that she doesn't have a whole ton of lines, i still . . . weirdly adore her? maybe because of her iconic line to tom, when she said "at least i'm only getting fucked by one of the roys, yeah?" like GO OFF WILLA!!!! I LOVE U!!! just because i think willa's . . . she seems so unassuming, but it's pretty clear that she can see right through everyone in the roy family. it's also really interesting to see her relationship with connor (who . . . like . . . yeah, at first i felt bad for him, but now i don't really like him because he's like. he's the type of person who thinks he's a good person, which makes some of his dickhead qualities that much worse. like, if you're a dickhead but know you're a dickhead like roman, that's slightly more endearing than being a dickhead and still thinking you're the Good Guy, which is what connor roy feels like to me). idk. willa honey pls date me instead <3333

oh, and i suppose for male characters, i lowkey love tom. like. he's insane. but i fucking love him. he's a pathetic bisexual man. he's my pathetic bisexual man. i want to rattle him around in a box. i want to punch his face but i also want to kiss his stupid forehead and tell him to actually talk to his wife. also, to figure out his feelings about cousin greg because tom sweetie . . . that's not how you talk to your crush <3 i love him. i thought he was the saner one in the roy family mess. i was so wrong. he's so stupid. i love him. i can't talk normally about him because every time he shows up on screen i just go "oh, MAN" really loudly because there's not a single boring moment with this stupid pathetic man

as for ships . . . tbh, i'm kind of a part of the "roy sibling x therapy" bandwagon, but if i want to be honest, i'm def. part of that crackhead energy of whatever's going on between tom and greg. because. like. are they insane? yeah. do i want them to make out and then kinda destroy each other? yeah. (no seriously because starting from episode one i was messaging one of my friends just screaming "WAIT SO THEY'RE REALLY LIKE THIS? STARTING AT EPISODE ONE?????" because what the fuck do u do with that energy.)

but on a more serious note, i think a part of me genuinely unironically likes the idea of tom and greg together because outside of their weird-ass energy, there's a sadder component to them in that like. it seems like tom's genuinely. lost around the roy family. like, i think shiv does love him--in whatever her definition of love might be--and greg genuinely loves shiv (distressed sad sounds), but also? but also, i think tom likes taking care of people, and more than that, i think tom needs someone who's genuinely sincere. shiv is absolutely . . . well .. . . . i love my girlboss gaslighting queen so much, but when i say sincere, i also mean someone who doesn't play in, like, 4d chess as a hobby, you know? i think tom might need someone like that in the long run, which breaks my heart because on the other hand, i also really pathetically adore

tom and shiv because okay okay okay they're also awful for each other, but i just. like. i'm weirdly so invested in their stupid awful marriage. a part of me wants them to be happy together. another part of me wants them to divorce because that might make them happier. a third part of me just wants them to keep up this funny weird marriage and now that it's an open marriage, tom can live his best "I Have Two Hands" life by being with shiv and greg--

but outside of that, tom and shiv just feel like a huge tragedy to me. i've been vaguely spoiled for season 3 (. . . . i have no idea what's up with the nero references, something something pushed his pregnant wife down the stairs?), so i'm already bracing myself, but oh god. i don't know, they just make me so sad, so sad because i think they both actually love each other but they also don't actually love each other but also they were happy at some point but also i don't think they're ever going to get that happiness back and AGGGGGH

i'm also weirdly digging kendall and stewy? like, i dunno. no one can break your heart quite as much as your best friend, and i think stewy genuinely cares about kendall. (and rava cares about kendall! i think i ship kendall with anyone who actually GENUINELY loves him, because i think kendall's different from his siblings in that . . . i think he has genuine people in his corner who actually give two shits about where his life goes? whereas it seems that roman doesn't have anyone except his siblings, which is a pretty volatile relationship, and shiv has tom, but we've already discussed how volatile that relationship is . . . idk, my heart always feels something for kendall whenever he's around stewy and/or rava. like! look at those people. they care about him! they're pissed off at him, but i think they're pissed off at him because they know he can do better or that he's capable of being better. pls kendall ditch your stupid family and either date stewy or work things out with rava and be a better dad idk dude just break the family cycle, you lame pathetic meow meow)
