...Not sure if I'll be active on here again, as my muse for Vivian just isn't all that present (to the point where she only ever really seems to come out to bug Hayate) and the tumblr RPC scene still absolutely exhausts me, I don't exactly feel like seeking out additional partners that would help stave off my boredom, but for the time being, you can find me here.

Honestly, I'm more motivated to write fics these days, as even though my works don't get that many kudos or comments, I'm at least writing stuff that makes me happy instead of trying to appease others and humiliating myself in the process for the smallest grain of attention, but in the event you reply to something like one of the open starters I have posted or a thread back in 2024 you haven't yet dropped on your end, I'll be sure to get to it eventually.

once again, and i feel like people frequently forget this or like, don't notice it as much, maybe, but anyway: my favorite part of the rpc is that people can literally make up whatever they want, and it never needs to make sense. like bucky bar.nes chilling on the revenge with iz.zy hands?? or azira.phale having tea with the winchesters?? like we can literally throw any characters together! and i know that the concern lies within the concept of "are people only following me because a new season of this show just dropped, or are people just collecting me because i write this popular canon character?" but like. i have to be honest. every time i follow someone, regardless of whether we're in the same verses or not, i just love the idea of the new dynamic.

like the point and purpose of the rpc is to write stuff with people, and to form new friendships while we do it. we're just out here writing our dorky characters and letting them loose on each other. and sometimes when i'm reading the threads and i see the most unexpected yet EXCELLENT crossover going on, i just smile so much, bc that's !!!! that is the REAL rpc right there! we gotta stop caring about realistic stuff, bc let me tell u, none of our muses are realistic. they're not supposed to be! even if they're based on historical figures, the second you start writing them, they're no longer realistic bc they didn't really say or do the things we write them as saying and doing, yk?

You know what I think?? I think we need to stop apologizing for not being so active on here constantly — especially in the RPC. People often forget that roleplaying isn't a job. Roleplaying is a hobby. I know I've been bad about this in the past but ... like ... shit happens. Our health comes first. How are we supposed to be at our best and help people if we're at an all time low?? So if going onto your roleplaying blog to post OOC stuff makes you feel better then so be it. Not only that but we're not obligated to explain every little detail about our everyday lives. So you do you and focus on your health first even if it means taking 5 whole ass months (or years, even) off of roleplaying and Tumblr. Because ... let's be real ... as much as we all love and cherish Tumblr it's also a hellhole and extremely stressful at times.

So repeat after me: ROLEPLAYING IS A HOBBY AND NOT A JOB.

Hey, so I accidentally purchased Canva pro for another month after a free trial (because that fucking shit didn't even show me the unsubscribe button this time around). Kinda forgot about it the past ten days and it ends on December 2nd.

Because I don't want it to go to waste, but also don't feel too inspired for myself as well as already having done most art for my own WIPs, I offer to make mood boards or banners and matching dividers for whoever wants them. Free of charge because wtf would I even take for that.

Tell me:

- the fandom name

- the name of the characters involved

- the title of your fic and author name

- if it's for an event and what it's named

- the summary of the story or idea (links to it are also fine)

- if you have a specific vision/color concept in mind

The fandoms I have easier access to materials to are Sweet Home, D.P., Teen Wolf, Vikings and Vikings: Valhalla S1 & 2. But that doesn't mean other fandoms are impossible to create for, it just means I have no way of getting good screencaps of those.

I don't know if I will even get any requests for the upcoming two weeks, but I thought it's better to offer than doing nothing with those fucking 12 Euros it ate.

I made a private invite only Discord server that focuses on keeping the Kuroshitsuji / Black Butler Tumblr Roleplay Community together and to have a fun, interactive space for others to share conversations, resources, etc.

Invites are open to solo muses, multi muses, and OCs with Kuro verses!

Accessibility within the RPC

How we can make it a better place for everyone. These tips are coming from a accessibility educator and web tester. It's not comprehensive, but meant to give you a crash course. Especially on the most common RPC trends.

General

The more you deviate from standard English writing, the more people are going to be less likely to be able to read and interact with you. People with disabilities, neuro-divergence, or even normal people whose time is limited will be effected with each deviation.

While tools exist to make these things easier to curate someone's experience, their functionality is limited. The large majority of them work by modifying standard English sentence structure. They tend to break or not function properly otherwise.

Some screenreaders for example struggle with all lowercase/uppercase text, double/multi spacing between words, lack of punctuation, etc. They will end up reading the text back in very odd ways.

Color can be make it difficult as well. The themes on Tumblr are varied. Your writing partner could be using these theme and your colored text is nearly impossible to read because of their theme. There are also color contrast issues for people with varying degrees of color blindness.

Accessibility is not one size fits all. Talk with your writing partners about their specific needs.

Tips for a more accessible blog and replies

Look for themes / carrds that are W3G compliant.

Don't use all lowercase text in your replies ( lapslock ).

Don't use all uppercase text outside of well-known acronyms.

Don't put multiple spaces between your words.

Use punctuation in your sentences.

Don't use color in your blog's text.

Use themes / carrds that say what the button/link is for. I, II, III, IV don't really give an indication of what's there. List it out: Rules, Muses, Connections, etc.

Make sure your theme uses at least 16px font sizing. Tumblr's post small font is 13px which is below the standard. The regular font however fits.

Don't make important links or link context like text appear on hover. A mobile device can't see it. Someone who is keyboard only can't either.

Again this isn't comprehensive, but it will give you a start. This is to help be more inclusive with your replies and blogs. This isn't to shame anyone for their aesthetics, but to point out things we can all do to make the RPC more accessible.

What if I like my aesthetics and don't want to change?

That's fine. Just understand it means fewer people can read, process, or comprehend your writing. Better yet if you don't want to switch and instead compromise? Make it very clear in either your rules, pinned post, carrd, etc that you will absolutely switch to regular formatting upon request.

This will help bridge the gap that people with fewer spoons to reach out over this will feel more comfortable doing so.

At the end of the day when we make our replies and RP blogs accessible for those who need it, we make it more accessible for everyone.
