99% of the time, yes. I do forget sometimes but I really wanna show my appreciation to those who take the time to leave a comment by responding and thanking them.

Skip, I don't do angsty endings. Angsty stories, absolutely, but the ending has gotta be a happy one.

Well considering I've never actually finished a fic this is hard to answer, but for plenty of them I do have endings figured out. Makes it hard to talk about it due to spoilers and what-not.

Yeah it's happened. I delete their comments, block 'm and go on with my day, happy in the knowledge that while I'm not perfect, at least I'm not a pathetic troll hiding behind anonymity to make myself feel better ^-^

I used to write a lot of smut, always m/m. It's fairly rare for me to write nowadays but I'm not ruling it out.

None of them have really been all that crazy, some crossovers work out surprisingly well! I love it when they do.

Also yup. Most of the time the person behind it asked for permission so I was cool with it, but I've also found a translation or two of that one orphaned fic that was done without my knowing about it.

All of my work is co-written (with the exception of one CP2077 one-shot and my current DCA AUs). I am big on one-on-one fandom RP, I love building a story with someone else and have our characters interact. It's one of my favorite things to do. Still hoping to find a someone to write DCA stories with one day.

14 – What's your all-time favorite ship?

Impossible to answer.

15 – What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Dialogue, both spoken dialogue as well as a character's inner thoughts. Also action/fighting scenes.

Again the orphaned fic, it had a lot of characters from different countries so while everyone spoke English, those characters did tend to slip every so often. Mostly French and Italian, all done through google translate because I don't speak either lol.

And in most of the DBZ fics I used a fan-made language for saiyans that I borrowed words from.

Medabots. This was like... 2001 or something, I finally got access to internet around that time and the first online friend I made I also started writing stories with. Medabots was one of the most popular anime on tv in that time so yeah.

Uh... again that's gotta be the orphaned fic. It's certainly the biggest I've ever (co) written and it was a ton of fun as well as the most popular fic I've ever written. And the longest too! At one point in time it was the second longest fic in the entire Assassin's Creed section on AO3. Good times.

Howdy Howdy!! It's me AtomicBunx! I decided to try asking the question as an anon to see if it works! If this is a duplicate message (like you're able to see this question but with my heybunnyx0 account as the asker) then feel free to delete this!! Anyways, onto my question! So, I know this is sooo early to ask, considering we're still learning about how the HorrorFell characters are/interact with Reader, but I gotta know!!

Imagine the whole Sans machine AU ask again. How would the HorrorFell skeletons react to the Reader from your Horrortale story? HorrorFell Sans and Papyrus even notice said person looks identical to the servant human they had in their world (to make things fun the servant is actually an alternate universe version of Reader, just like how the skeletons are AUs too if that makes sense). How do they feel about the relationship the horrortale characters have and how happy they seem to be with each other? Will they hold any grudges because of Reader's uncanny similarities to their servant? Would HorrorFell Sans try to do the same shit he did to his servant to Horrortale Reader? I would LOVE the tea on that!! *foams at the mouth* Feel free to give as much deats as you can, even though it is a hypothetical!

I've actually thought about this A LOT (the reader in Vivid Blood, Pale Scars is an alternate version of the NSB Reader!) and I even have a few scenes written for a crossover where the Readers swap universes ;) though I'll be posting those later since they contain spoilers, lol

And oooh boy the emotions are confusing! Current VBPS Papyrus would be like "what the f*ck" and just avoid the NSB Reader, whereas VBPS Sans would be like "oh hell yeah" and would abosultely try the same shit if given the chance!

As for how they feel about the relationships? They both think it's super weird. Primarily because they come from a universe that doesn't accept those kind of affectionate feelings. But ontop of that VBPS Sans is just like "how can anybody love like a version of me?" He wants to dissect the emotions behind it and find the flaws in the relationship (cause it can't be a healthy relationship- how could it be- if he- or any version of him- is in it?) And obviously both of them are also weirded out by the meer thought of -even in an alternate universe- being in a relationship with their servant- that's just crazy.

Bonus:

VBPS Papyrus would be weary of his alternate self, while NSB Papyrus would be like "uh...hi? Would you like to have dinner?" (But as soon as VBPS Papyrus did something cruel or insenstive towards NSB Reader NSB Papyrus would be like "ok, nevermind, please GET OUT.")

VBPS Sans and NSB Sans would HATE each other immediately. VBPS Sans wants to play mind games and pick his brain (or lack thereof) apart and NSB Sans wants to kill him.

first fight: it's absolutely devasting for poor vasco. he knew relationships had ups and downs but he never imagined a fight would happen with him and you. but if anything, after patching up, it taught him to stop putting you on a pedestal and to be more realistic if he wanted to make the relationship work, rather than continue to live in a romanticist's daydream.

bet on it by selenophim (T) 13.3k // this is a ~classic~ literally I keep seeing this fic because I like to stalk the relationship tags (LOL) and since it’s so good, I keep seeing it (also LOL). This may be SakuAtsu, but this is Osamu supremacy, again I don’t take criticism LOL.

Just as much by Sapphirine (NR) 16.1k // this is peak gay panic as demonstrated by one Miya Atsumu hehe. This fic is so FLUFF but also PINE! I’ll just be sitting here with my 851 million microorganisms to keep me company cause I’M SINGLE LOL.

Hello! I recently came across your fanfic and gotta say I LOVE IT! I’m only on ch4 and I like how things are developing so far and the set up is pretty nicely paced. I saw the 8/50 and holy cow!! I’m here for the whole ride 😎 I’m glad you are updating it. Can I ask what made you write this story? What do you have hopes for the future of it? What other AUs have you got interested to write? I hope this isn’t too much lol have a good one!

What made me write this story was because I read a LOT of shizaya fanfiction back in the day and I always wanted to imagine "What would happen if they actually got along? What if they were friends?" and "What if *this* happen? What if *that* happen?" and so the fic was just me throwing all of my headcanons of friendship/lover au (and many more) into a story. At the time, I think Erased (the anime) and Life is Strange had heavy influence on me. So the time travel element had the hamster wheel in my mind running. What I have hopes for the future of it... is finishing it all the way to the end XD It will get there eventually because I have my outline. Unlike my previous fanfictions, I did not have an outline - I wrote whatever came to mind and then I ran out of plot ideas. So I'm glad I waited to plan everything out before writing it. Other than that, fanart maybe? Idk, if I received fanart one day from one of my fics then I'm set for life. Also this wasn't an original hope, but now it is from all of the sweet messages that people gave me: I hope it influences more interesting Izaya interactions in fics like a Kasuka and Izaya friendship or maybe even a Vorona and Izaya friendship. Oooohh! So, I do have other AUs in the brainstorming stages but I don't know if I'll ever write them out one day. It'll depend in the future because I am bad at coming up with plot points :( (These fics are in no particular order.) 1. It's a Shizuo-centric fic called "Become Thy Worst Enemy". An AU where Ketsu didn't happen. Plot: Izaya spent his final moments having one last conversation with Shizuo before falling off a building. A year later, Shizuo still has guilt for not saving Izaya back then, which causes him to want to know more about his former enemy. And then a new mysterious threat emerges to terrorize Ikebukuro which forces the whole gang to find out what it is and take it out. And it will cause Shizuo to become like his worst enemy (Izaya) to defeat it. 2. I have been reading a lot of "reincarnated as a villainess" isekai stories, so I'm currently obsessed with the genre right now. I called it “Another Villain Story” lol Plot: Izaya woke up in the body of the main villain/second love interest to the heroine of an aristocratic historical fiction novel. In the original ending, his character has one final battle with crown prince before being defeated and exile out of the country. He is determine to change his fate of the ending. 3. A Miraculous Ladybug version of Shizaya (mixed with Shugo Chara elements). Plot: Izaya and Shizuo get superpowers and become superheroes. There is the love square. The kwamis are their alts version (hence the Shugo Chara elements) and Saika is the "akumatized" version of the story. 4. A kidfic Shizaya version. Essentially, snippets of Izaya and Shizuo growing up together as kids to adult life. Plot: Izaya's father told him one day that he hopes Izaya will come to love humans twice as much as others would, and not spend so much time at the library and make friends. So little Izaya ventures off and finds a kid who destroyed a bakery. Meeting him at the park, Izaya and him would become friends. Yeah, these are what I have. Again, I don't know if any of these will see the light of day but maybe? Idk, again I'm so bad at coming up with plot events. XD (Keep in mind, even the first one, all of my fics are happy endings because I am a sucker.) But anyways, thank you again for this ask. It was really fun to answer your questions. I am sorry this is so late to the ask about favorite fics, but I am a slow not so great writer, and it is also very long 😬. But I still wanted to share this with you, and I hope you like it! Anyways here’s my top ten!

1.) Et Tu

So this is my favorite and most reread. You build the tension so masterfully that it is like a noose tightening around the mc’s neck. The glances and looks from each team member during practice are used to skillfully inform the reader and are used as reference during the confrontation (gotta love continuity!). The fact that you referenced earlier in the fic made me super happy. I immediately knew you were a good writer the second I read it (I mean I already knew you were good, but I feel it was this moment I was like your not just good but phenomenal) The confrontation scene is amazing it had me going from anticipation and curiosity to thirsty so fast. I also liked the fact that you once again described the team in the locker room, so we could know how their dynamic with the reader changed once they were in private. Is beautiful 100/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 gold stars

2.) Like Nobody Else

You are a queen of building tension as seen in most of your works, but this one was the pinnacle of everything I wanted:

soulmates ☑️, yandere ☑️, smut ☑️

Like you put all of my favorites in one fic and I was like ma’am this is some queen level writing. It’s so amazing I have read it multiple times. Will read it again. Never gets old. Will probably go reread it again now.

3.) Bully

Ah yes once again the spice that gives me life ~tension~. So much so that it is the first thing I have written for all top 3. Your just so good at writing it. Unfortunately I don’t really know how to explain how amazing you are at building tension. Like I can cut the tension in your writing with a super dull plastic butter knife (if that even makes sense???). I like how in this fic it isn’t just Oikawa, but also his fan club getting involved. Whenever his fan club is involved it’s like soft very small crime Lord vibes cause it’s other people doing his bidding. I will get my mafia au fix in anyway I can get it until you update Lion’s Den. Ok got off track there, anyways I like all the character interactions in this fic and how Oikawa corners the readers throughout it. Also I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Drabbles you wrote for Bully.

4.) Feral

This is the first fic of yours I read. I love this one as well as your other BNHA fics. I love how you write Hawks in this, and the more you write BNHA fics the better you’ve gotten at writing the characters. There is always a learning curve when writing a for a new character or fandom, but as you’ve gotten more comfortable writing in this world your works have improved. This is the fic I felt as a reader you were getting more comfortable writing for BNHA. It’s such a good fic too. I love how you wrote snapped Hawks in this. I am so happy I found you and this fic.

5.) For Old Times Sake

I love this one so much. Probably cuz the Miya twins are in it lol. I don’t know why?? but I love your description of the pool flashback I just do? Like I will go open the fic and scroll right to that part and reread it. Like I love that scene so much that when you open your requests back up Imma probably ask for a prequel just for an extended pool scene. Like the twins orchestrating getting everyone drunk and then once the reader is making out with them each twin takes turns shooing everyone else out of the pool so they can be alone~.

Anyways amazing fic. Like so good in fact that I moved it up the list twice.

7.) Good Girl

I call this one the OG even though it isn’t your first fic. I think I started calling it the OG once I figured out it was your first Haikyuu!! smut on AO3. I really liked all the character interactions in this. If you ever feel up to posting the first draft with yandere Sugawara so we can see how the original confrontation plays out and how this changes the interactions I would love to read it. Cause honestly the more yanderes the better lol. Also Oikawa was really hot in this like 🥵. Love reading the second chapter cause the smut is fantastic. Also really liked the cliffhanger to be continued ending that also has a certain amount of finality to it. I have no clue how you were able to write the ending like this for Good Girl or any of your other fics, but I’m happy you write the endings this way. It leaves me fine with the ending you have but leaves the door open for you to revisit and add more to completed fics which can be done through drabbles or with a part 2. Just really well done 👍

8.) Dear Old Friend

First Atsumu, then we get Kiyoomi, and then in a drabble Osamu!!! Hell yeah! The interaction between the reader the yanderes is so different compared to your other fics and I really enjoyed drunk reader. Drunk reader is always fun would read anytime.

9.) Outrunning Fate and Breaking Point

People have said it before and I’ll say it again your souls mate fics are phenomenal. As if that wasn’t enough then you wrote drabbles about both fics. It’s like your trying to steal my heart here like damn. I loved both these fics so much that I couldn’t decide between the two and now they both get to be here. Part of this decision came from the fact that both fics have wildly different dynamics, and the other half was me unable to leave one off the list.

10.) Bite the Bullet

Nailing that Dynamic- Recs - Day 1

Day 1 for Creator’s Week, and I gotta say, this is my favorite fan event, mainly because it was the first one I participated last year. This little rec set is devoted to dynamics, divided into friendship, found family, and finally romantic (and yes, that’s Malex with me.)

We’ve had two seasons of this show, and while I can’t really relate to aliens or even the immigrant story, I do relate strongly to the stories behind friendship. I can say my appetite for fic with a good friendship dynamic will always be there.

Will You Be My Friend- Circle Yes or No (recs)

Finding You by @myrmidryad  (122,000) - If by chance the canon from high school bums you out, this is the story to read. Gin writing malex is always a ‘no-brainer I’m gonna read it story’ for me, but what really set this epic apart was how beautifully Gin writes the friendship dynamics between Michael & Liz, and Michael & Max. It’s a canon-divergent story with no-murder of Rosa or the shed scene, where in order to avoid enlistment, Alex disappears from Roswell and joins the Max & Liz road trip with Michael in tow. They just need to fill that gap between high school and the opening of the dorms at UNM so they can start a life together. And fill it they do with this road trip. There were moments where I sobbed with how badly Michael needed this in canon and didn’t get it. It also made me like Max, so, yeah. Great writing and characterizations here.

Hit the Road by @bestillmyslashyheart - (7,100) - One of the brightest spots for me in season two was Rosa Ortecho, and one of the most frustrating parts of season two was the fact we didn’t get any interaction between her and Alex. *screams* At least I had a few crumbs of Rosa & Maria (not nearly enough!) but still. Where there’s a glaring gap in canon, thank god there’s fanfic. Marlo treats us to a delightful story written post season 1, but had some surprisingly psychic lines about Malex, number one how they don’t think they are good for one another. I really enjoyed what this story says about leaving-  and honestly, the town of Roswell has so much pain tied to these characters, they should all take long road trips away from it.

a few drinks and some conversation by @christchex / @michaels-blackhat (5,600 ) - this one is set post-season 2, with all the complications of Michael deciding now wasn’t the right time for him and Alex, while also working on giving Maria the right space after their breakup.  I think it’s pretty clear that Michael needs a friend he’s not related to and someone he hasn’t slept with - to provide him so low-stakes genuine company outside of the alien bullshit and love triangle dynamics. Christi does this beautifully through the eyes of an OC and the number of times I’ve read this story is like 10, and also, it’s inspired my current story about Michael going on dates.

and headin’ out singing our song by @stars-and-sunshine (4,100) post season 2, Alex and Michael head off on a road trip (okay, this is a trope I apparently like since I’ve recced three stories now, hahaha) after Alex’s car breaks down. There’s a careful space in this story, of two men building a friendship again. The roadtrip details are beautiful, but what stayed with me is a scene in the museum. That summer of 2008 had some ghosts to address.

If I Follow You Home, Will You Keep Me? found-family dynamics

When You’re Gone by @bestillmyslashyheart (8,200) - Before I tell you why I love this story, I want everyone to follow the next link and read this story about email and messages and grief in the digital age [trigger for cancer death] chat history by Rebecca  Armendariz. (She also wrote a follow up called Timelines published by the Hairpin that talks about the memory function on facebook.) So back to the story, this is Rosa, opening her email 10 years after her death and reading the messages people sent her, thinking they were speaking into the void. Liz, Maria, Alex, Mimi and Arturo, all of them sending her notes, sometimes time passes without an email, then an event triggers that memory of Rosa not being there- and yeah, I found this whole thing to be so moving.

Never Ever Getting Rid of Me by @spaceskam - (4,400) this probably could have gone in the friendship side, but I feel like when you work in a high stakes place like a hospital, friends is a term that ends up being too light, and with the level of competition and stress it grows a bond like family... anyway, this is an AU where Michael and Kyle end up at the same hospital as competing interns but some elements of canon are still there.

still fixing all the cracks by @emma-arthur -  (3,400) this is a pre-canon story, set when Alex is 14. He’s still a soft child, being tortured by his dad, and soaking up the attention from Liz, Rosa and Arturo when he breaks a glass and spirals. Heavy discussion of child abuse and homophobic abuse, but a really good exploration of the canon-neglected Liz & Alex friendship, plus with that paternal Arturo Ortecho in the mix...

Ophiuchus by @planetsam - (11,600) the other bright side of season 2 was the reveal of Walt Sanders as being not only Michael’s boss, but someone who knew his mother, knew what he was, and silently looked out for him...now of course I wish he had been more overt in doing this, but fanfic once again has fixed this canon-oversight. This is an incredible look through Walt’s eyes as he gets in over his head adopting an alien child, especially one who already had issues from previous foster placements. I could read a million words in this verse.

The Michael Sanders AU by @prouvaireafterdark (17,000 ) And speaking of great AUs where Michael is raised by Walt, I would be really amiss in not mentioning this one. It’s got hot high school Malex moments, emotional/hurt comfort for both Michael’s past foster placements but also the shit Alex is living with at home. I have to say “Honey if You Stay” is my favorite, just because of how badly I wanted to hug teen Alex...

and finally, no found family rec list could be complete without mentioning the epic series To Raise a Child (117,000 in progress) by @haloud and @maeglinthebold - season 2 put some hits on my headspace and emotional reserves, not to mention 2020 nonsense, so I’m dreadfully behind in commenting on this story. It’s just a huge emotional bandaid for me right now- it takes the idea of “what if the adults in Roswell actually looked out for their children (and other peoples children) and protected them from shit” and what would that change. Michael was found at 7 and then runs away to Roswell at 10, so yeah, humans have already done their best to convince him the world sucks and only finding his siblings matters... Jim Valenti steps in, knowing what he is, and finds him a place in Roswell with Arturo Ortecho. Anyway, everyone gets a turn- Jim, Mimi, the kids, etc in the story, it’s well rounded and fleshed out. Obviously being a malex person my favorite parts are the kid-friendship/this-is-just-a-crush moments in second story, where if you hadn’t lost your heart to Michael Ortecho by then, well, you’re a goner after that story. 

I Could Build Your Heart A Home (malex recs)

time will lie down and be still by @islndgurl777 (29,600) the Practical Magic AU - which I loved but I have never seen the movie it’s based on lol... anyway, this story almost belonged up with my found family dynamic recs, because the story opens with Isobel and Michael being 7 and 8 years old alien siblings and left with Mimi Deluca to raise with her daughter Maria, because with their father recently dead, their mother would soon follow as a species level soulmate bond. Michael vows never to fall in love. Then there’s a beautiful friendship between Maria, Liz, Isobel and Michael as they grow up together that I just wanted to roll around in forever... However this is a Malex rec, so once Alex enters the story in high school and things go down similarly with Jesse, Michael is heartbroken, his soulmate (he thinks) is gone, vanished into the Air Force, and he spends the next 10 years helping Maria, going to school with Liz, and keeping in touch with Isobel. Until 2018 when Isobel finds out her perfect man was like them, an alien, and bad, and they are forced to cover up his murder. Then Alex comes to town. But the soulmate storyline is the winner here and I just re-read it again.

here everyone knows (you’re the way to my heart) by @adamsparirsh (19,700) So this story tackles a dynamic that think will be the death-knell to the Alex/Forrest relationship- the weight of the alien secret and Alex’s responsibility gland and what that looks like to someone who wants to be in a relationship with him. The exclusion. But outside of that- there’s this part of Alex that isn’t willing to let anyone in that isn’t already there, and that’s Michael. I’m fucking weak for stories where these two assholes can’t connect with anyone but each other, and this one hits it. There’s also so many lovely friendship dynamics between everyone showing up for Alex- like Rosa, Isobel, Max, Maria. Obviously this is a Malex-is-endgame story, even though it starts Alex/Forrest.

it’s a long road back to you by @magsthemagical  (17,000) This was an interesting, now AU take on what if Maria/Michael dated at the same time as Alex/Forrest, and honestly, I thought basted on the season two spoilers that was where we were heading. I was gobsmacked by 2x13. Anyway, here’s a story that discusses the tension that would happen if there had been simultaneous dating going on…the parts where Michael sees Alex being open with someone other than him were very raw and true to how I would think he would feel. For 10 years he wanted that and didn’t get it, and so of course the problem was probably him?? Anyway, I enjoyed this a lot, and again felt robbed that we are heading into a new triangle for season 3. 

untouched by @prouvaireafterdark (5,200) - okay, you know when you have an alien soulmate idea in your head and you want it to appear on the page, and then it does and it’s everything you wanted? That’s what happened to me when ‘Untouched’ appeared. Obviously it’s AU, but my reptile brain just loves the idea that Michael and Alex can’t get off with anyone else, and then that frustration builds into a sexy explosion... there’s also some communcation happening with these clowns. But seriously for 5,000 words, A LOT HAPPENS here and I loved every word.

Would you come home by @caitlesshea (1000) How great would have it been if season 2 had ended with Michael and Alex found a baby in a stasis pod instead of Beardy Jones? Like seriously, this short little fic healed so many of my wounds from season 2 that I couldn’t help but include it here. I would take 50,000 more words in this sadly AU take. 

Hoarding you by @foramomentonly (1200) okay, so the rain smell, like 2x04 was low key my favorite episode of RNM ever, especially with Alex throwing that flirty line “It’s smells like rain, that’s what you smell like under the grease and bourbon’ and this author takes that line, and fucking murders me with the idea that Alex can’t move on because of that smell. And Michael is now his, and finds out about it. This is my head canon, okay? No one can talk me out of it.

thoughts on free! s3? what do you think went wrong/right/what you wish it would’ve went etc

I could quite literally go on FOREVER about season 3 and y’know what you asked for it so I’m just gonna ramble until I feel good about it lmao.

Now first I have to say that I wholeheartedly love season 3 with the deepest passion in my bones. I genuinely didn’t think that we were ever going to GET a season 3 in the first place, so the fact that it exists is just... so meaningful to me as someone whose favorite franchise is Free! and someone whose life was saved by these dumbass swimmers. 

I will say that season 3 isn’t what I wanted from it. I wanted it to be centered on Nagisa, Rei, Gou, Sousuke, Ai, and Momo. I love Haru with my entire being but I really really REALLY wanted to see a series centered on the Iwatobi trio. They’re so underrated and I felt like they were lowkey sidelined in Eternal Summer so I wanted to see them shine and grow together in their third year. But of course Kyoani has just been setting them aside more and more as time has gone on so I feel like that was nothing but a hopeless dream lmao. I have a lot of headcanons and AUs about what went on with everyone who was still in Iwatobi while the rest of the gang was in Tokyo. The little bits that Kyoani gave us of them were beautiful, I will admit. Episode 11 is my FAVORITE episode of season 3. The fact that Rei WON A NATIONAL RACE??? Like, come on. I wish we could’ve seen the work that he put in to even be able to do that in the first place. That moment where he ponders what he’ll be doing after high school really gets to me too because I would love to know what the fuck he and the others are gonna do. I wish we could’ve seen the moments in their third year that led to whatever decisions they will make. I wanted to see the Iwatobi trio go through the absolute wringer together lmao. I wanted angst I wanted to see their journey that led them to where they are now. I wanted to see more of them growing with the new trio too. I wanted to learn more about Gou and Sousuke’s past through their interactions in her third year. If the season was longer I feel like they could’ve had it be half the Iwatobi arc and half the Tokyo arc, y’know what I mean?

Nonetheless, I love season 3 for what it was. I’m so beyond happy that they brought in Asahi, Ikuya, Natsuya, and Nao, you have no idea. The High Speed! characters hold such a special place in my heart. I wish Asahi would’ve had more of an arc/character development though, and I wish Nao was more included. I think Natsuya’s character arc was my favorite of the whole season. Seeing the trash traveling man that he had become and his interactions with Rin and Sousuke really stuck with me for some reason. And that line that he had when he was talking to Ikuya and fucking crying like, “a dream to fight for my strength and pride, plain and simple.” That shit fucked me up bro. We all meme about Natsuya a lot but I feel like there’s a lot of deeper shit there that’s yet to be explored. When we met Ryuuji I was genuinely convinced that he was Ikuya and Natsuya’s father because it would explain a lot about Natsuya’s behavior. A trash dad who wasn’t really there for his family and just kinda fucked off to travel the world training swimmers until he found one that met his expectations? That would’ve added so much to Natsuya and Ikuya’s background stories and their character arcs. Like can you imagine? Natsuya not initially going into professional swimming because the fact that his father LEFT to find a swimmer to train instead of training his own damn son because he didn’t see that potential in him??? Natsuya being inspired by Ikuya to work hard to prove their father wrong??????? Nao punching Ryuuji square in the nose the moment he sees him???????????? A fucking gold mine that Kyoani could’ve dove into, but no he’s related to Shizuru lmao. 

I could go on forever about Natsuya in season 3 cuz I just really, really loved his arc but I’m gonna keep rolling haha. Hiyori was probably the most unexpected thing from season 3 and I just... love him so much. Like his absolute snakey behavior gave me the same chills that that scene of Sousuke pushing Haru against a vending machine in episode 2 of Eternal Summer gave me. I LOVE that shit. The Free! antagonists just keep getting bitchier and bitchier lmao. I also relate to Hiyori on a deeper level. I too have been selfishly protective of my best friends in a way that... really just wasn’t the way to go. Like jeez Hiyori I understand how you feel but maybe let them talk to Ikuya at least once??? Chill with the possessiveness? Idk I know Hiyori is the source of a lot of discourse lol, but that’s just how I feel because of my own similar experiences with myself and others who’ve acted in a similar way. I do wish his beef at the other boys wasn’t solved by just fuckin... swimming with Haru lmfaoooooo. Like I wish they just would’ve added more to his conversation with Ikuya when he asked him to join the relay with him.

I was quite satisfied with Rin’s arc in season 3. It just like, made perfect sense to me I guess lmao. I know he wasn’t there much but I don’t know what else they could or should have done with him, if that makes sense. The fact that his coach is Ai’s uncle is just the best thing ever too lmao.

I was also very happy with Haru’s arc actually!! Seeing how much he has grown makes me feel like a proud mom. Ya boi is tired of the bullshit and the miscommunication haha. Of course I’ll always wish he didn’t go into pro swimming but alas, gotta deal with it I guess. I love his dynamic with Ryuuji and the way that he has dealt with pro swimming though. And his decision to go into the individual medley absolutely made me lose my mind. I didn’t know I needed to see him swim the other strokes until it happened and I just, I loved that so muchhh. 

I alsooooo enjoyed Ikuya’s arc. Seeing someone from your past again like that can 100% have that effect on you. I just kinda wish we understood more about like, why he just randomly faints while swimming sometimes? I feel like they didn’t solidly explain it? Cuz I don’t think it was always from overworking himself. Idk maybe I’m just a dumbass and remembering incorrectly.

Kisumi deserved better. YOU CAN’T TELL ME THIS BOY DOESN’T HAVE UNDERLYING ANGST THAT KYOANI HASN’T DELVED INTO. He gave us that line of “We’ll never make friends like the ones we had back then” and then him worrying about whether or not there was anything he could do to help with the Ikuya situation. This boy feels left out and you can’t tell me otherwise and it is 100% because of the fact that he’s not a swimmer. Someone give this boy a basketball team that he can experience that kind of bond with PLEASE. I AM BEGGING ON MY KNEES!!!

Makoto also deserved better. Like, okay, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved his arc with the kids and Nao and all that. I love his new dream. BUT!!! Kyoani has yet to go into depth with his insecurities with Haru. I’m still not over that damn dream he had on that bus. All we got in season 3 was Makoto’s aNGSTY looks when it came to his relationship with Haru lmao. GIVE MAKOTO A BIGGER ROLE AND A BIGGER ARC DAMMIT. He’s one of the most popular characters I’m surprised his angst hasn’t been touched on more. This dumbass just needs to stop holding things in i SWEAR TO GAWD.

I thought the inclusion of Albert was kinda weird, dunno what the point of him is aside from making Haru shake in his bones. Kinjou is definitely interesting. He scares me lmao, but I am here for that. Give us an antagonist who is just absolutely unhinged at this point LMAO. I have some headcanons about him too but I feel like the new movie coming up is going to crush my dreams soooo yeah.

Isuzu is a goddess. I’m so happy she’s finally here and she has a name and a FACE. We learned that the Mikoshiba bros had a sister before we even knew that Momo existed lmao (Sei mentioned her in a drama cd from season 1). I almost thought they were never going to give her to us but she’s here and she’s beautiful and she’s everything that I wanted her to be. I’m so happy she thinks Gou is cute and that GOU LIKES HER and I just ugh yes thank you so much Kyoani I never expected that we’d actually get this but I’m so happy we have it. I hope she goes to Hidaka Uni and gets to race Haru like she wanted haha. And I’m so happy we got to see her swim! Our first in-anime female swimmer with a name. I love her.

Speaking of FEMALE SWIMMERS. Sighhhhhh.... My biggest disappointment. Aki Yazaki. Where is she? We deserve her!! I promise we do!! She was SUCH an important character in the High Speed! novels and kyoani decided that she just doesn’t exist anymore lmao (biggest reason why I’m not the biggest fan of the Starting Days movie). At this point I’ve lost hope that she’ll ever be included in the anime, and it makes me so sad. I love her so much and there’s so much potential for an amazing beautiful story arc with her if she reunited with the boys. I don’t think we’re going to get a season 4, (the new movie is scaring me making me think it’s the end of the series with the way it’s been advertised...) but if we DID get one I imagine it beginning with Haru walking through a snowy day, huddling close to himself to shelter from the cold, when he passes by a tall figure and catches a glimpse of familiar caramel hair with a loose little braid peeking out from behind one ear and a large scarf that has gotten quite messed up over years of wear and tear, a memory clicks in his mind like a light switch and he stops in his tracks to turn around and let a long forgotten name slip from his lips: “Yazaki Aki?” ... cue opening sequence. LIKE WOULDN’T THAT BE SO AMAZING???????? I WOULD FUCKING SHIT MYSELF OKAY YOU DON’T UNDERSTANDDDD. Aki is one of my favorite characters I’m so mad she wasn’t in season 3. I’m also mad that Satomi Nii wasn’t there either like!!! She would make a great trio with Ikuya and Hiyori that’s all I’m sayinggggg. I would probably start crying if either of them showed up at some point like genuinely I would just be a mess sobbing on the floor. ALSO I FEEL LIKE GOU AND ISUZU WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM LIKE PLS GIVE ME THE GIRLS THAT WE DESERVE!!!

The art style of season 3 was pretty good. The only thing that bothered me about it was how fucking WIDE the characters’ shoulders were sometimes. Especially with the big bois like Makoto and Sousuke. Like please god no stop that. I’m always gonna miss the art style from season 1 tho, the crazy expressions n shit that were there were just too GOOD lmao. I feel like in season 3 they kind of attempted to bring that back but it just wasn’t executed the same and done to the same extent. R.I.P. the comedy from season 1, it will be forever missed.

I love the opening and ending themes, always. So fucking good. I’m so happy all the characters were included in the end theme animation sequence. I’ll never get over Gou and her BEAUTY.

ANYWAYS. Those are my thoughts in the general sense. Idk if I forgot anything because I have so many thoughts that’re all unorganized haha. actor showcase! everyone loves kurapika which, same 

ah so the director of this musical also directed the sailor moon musicals, which i didnt know existed but of course that exists...thats funny considering the hxh mangaka is married to the sailor moon mangaka 

anyways that was fun honestly!!!! i fuckgin love musicals, and musical adaptations of non-musical source materials can be like, SO different tonally, but this honestly felt like a fun filler 

it was really interesting seeing something based on the canon from this early on - as i said above, some of the characterizations (like the zoldycks) seems a bit different than we’re used to, but others were spot on - like hisoka only showing up intermittently to sow chaos and do nothing else vhjkadhbfhkjdsfnj im assuming the yorknew arc hadnt happened at this point, but hisokas actions in this musical were hilariously similar to how he acted in the yorknew arc, so, props. 

plus it was cool to see the ‘what if’ factor w/hisoka and illumi also being there, espec illumi interacting w/killua bc its so wildly different from how killua reacts to any of his other family members - hes clearly scared of illumi, in a way he isnt w/anyone else, and that was done well here w/the scene where illumi threatens killua’s friends to get killua to listen to him

also the angst was honestly great, and there was some REALLY sweet wholesome parts that i loved. and the music wasnt half bad either!!

i think the VAs did a great job playing the characters - hisokas VA was especially great (and i really loved kurapika too). gons hair was not very similar to how it looks in the show so it was a little more obvious that he was being played by a grown woman, but still a great performance. 

anyways fun times, i love musicals and this was a fun ole 2000s filler shounen musical adaptation

Hi I’ve been here for exactly eight minutes but can I please have details about Akira’s palace? And the Dragon Akira? And the ball if that’s not it’s own thing? Or just all of them??? WAIT NO the priority is the AU where Akira doesn’t have a persona but has god-level charisma apparently. That brought me here but I stayed for everything else.

So I'm assuming the one you're referring to as priority is about the post I made with Akira kinda recruiting Pixie to the team. That's in the palace au which is also the ball/masquerade one lol 

Akira doesn't have the Nav, but Ryuji does, they still end up at the Palace the first day but Akira takes one look at the castle and is just "not today satan" and walks away saying Ryuji probably went the wrong way

Ryuji follows him back cuz like yeah he's sure he went the right way and that sign says Shujin but my man is not ready to walk into that place by himself right now

They end up getting to the school and Ryuji's really confused about that whole castle thing

He decides he wants to go look into it and see if that castle was an actual thing

Ryuji doesn't take Akira along cuz he hears about his record and the teachers telling him to stay away from Ryuji so he is all "aight won't make things worse for him plus that castle might not actually be real"

It was and he ends up getting his Persona

Morgana and him actually get along a lot better than in canon cuz Ryuji was the one who helped him out

Ann is next to join the squad 

Akira gets taken in on accident later and the squad decides hey let's not kick him out cuz we all know how well that went with Ann

He's a special boy and gets to recruit shadows to help out kinda like the shadow negotiation thing minus the part about them becoming Personas

It's like a combination of him knowing how to act to please people, his distortion, and the shadows not wanting to be on the losing side that lets him do that

Turns out that ability is pretty helpful so like they keep letting him tag along even though he doesn't have a Persona and he like ends up becoming part of the team

The squad does find it strange that Akiras been messing around in the Metaverse with them for quite some time and still hasn't gotten a Persona but whatever I guess

Akira's Palace stems from him seeing Tokyo as a masquerade, he feels like he can't be himself and has to hide behind these masks he creates to please others 

The general vibe of the Palace is that one scene in Sailor Moon where they keep reusing the same dance animation

He's got multiple Shadow selves and each one has like the arcana number of whoever he uses them around in their eye

The thieves are usually split up and only able to interact with the Shadow with the personality Akira uses for them

Most of the time the thieves are in their normal outfits but with their masks cuz Akira doesn't really see them as a threat but hey it's a masquerade, gotta have a mask 

If they try to leave their designated Shadow and regroup or something they will be seen as a threat because they aren't supposed to see these other sides of him

0 is like the main Shadow, he's closest to what Akira acts like when hanging around the whole group, and kinda takes over if the Thieves manage to regroup

The shadows he's recruited from other Palaces end up in his Palace so he's just out here filling his Palace with stolen shadows 

Not sure what else to add about this au so I'll just leave it at that and move onto dragon au

It was originally just an au where Akira is a dragon but the more I thought about it the more it became a Fire Emblem au mostly based on 3 houses 

So Akira is out here having the time of his life and being a dragon when Shido shows up and ruins everything, you know, like he does

So Shido sorta just uses this forbidden magic to like force Akira into a human form (there's an acceptable version of this magic that requires the dragons consent and lets them shift back into dragon form at will) and makes it so the only way he's able to turn back is by listening to him and then he'll consider lifting the curse

Turns out if he tries really hard he can turn back into a dragon briefly but its kinda painful cuz the curse is forcing him back into human form so he doesn't really do it unless necessary 

So what Shido wants from him is to find his son who kinda ran off with multiple secrets which could ruin his family name 

Shido heard that Goro ended up at an academy to train like knights or something and wants to like 1) find out if that's true and 2) bring Goro back and silence him

So that's where Akira comes in, he's sent undercover to find Goro with a promise to be set free if he complies while also being threatened with death if he tries to tell anyone or defies Shido

Shido's people killed Akira's parents before so he has big fear of defying him, he's also a really young dragon, an absolute baby, so he's pretty sure he stands no chance if he tries to fight back (plus there's the whole trapped in squishy human body thing)

Akira does find Goro at the place but he also realizes everyone there's really cool and he likes hanging out with them so he doesn't want to follow Shido's orders because if he did these people would hate him for betraying them :(

Eventually Akira says fuck this noise and tells Goro about what's going on and asks him to help get rid of the curse since Goro is skilled with magic

The squads from p3 and 4 are also part of this au but since the focus is Akira I'll just add a few fun details

Yu is nobility and he's kinda just "oh hey Yosuke want a new knife? Heres 20" about it

Ikutsuki is there and finds out about what's going on with Akira, says he'll help and just kinda just makes everything worse somehow

Ryoji is a god and just vibes in Minato's head

This is such a comfort fic, and I love their back and forth banter (but it’ll make you feel really single LOL).

Surprisingly enough this didn’t take that long...... Like I think this is the fastest I’ve ever made a list,,,, Anyways, revelations aside, I had a lotta fun making this list cause like I’ve been saying, I’m in love with SunaOsa. They also definitely have some of the MOST tooth rotting fics I’ve ever read before (physical pain because of the fluff), so if you’re into that, you don’t have to look too far :)
