tree house verse: jack and annie travel to the star wars universe ( an alternate universe from their own ) through the tree house. where in the timeline they arrive is up to who i’m writing with. their general mission is to help the resistance (and bring back a kyber crystal for camelot, though that is honestly secondary and just the ‘reason’ they were sent there.) you might say to yourself: why did merlin and morgana send two children into this dangerous area? because merlin and morgana clearly haven’t had a normal idea since they started sending jack and annie on these missions. annie is definitely force sensitive but just thinks it’s a cool thing that happens on this planet. 

alternate universe: jack and annie were born on one of the worlds ( tba but possibly chandrila or takodana ) whose parents work a lot - their father owns a diner and their mother is a medic. both are force sensitive, though annie wildly more than jack. they’re pretty well off financially. while their parents were at work the children found an abandoned space craft in the woods that jack learned to fly. though they generally don’t go off world until they’re a bit older (jack about 12, annie about 10) the space craft is a secret from both of their parents. annie named the ship ‘the treehouse’.

Lying on the sand watching seabirds fly (planet_B612) : Going along with the flow, it's only natural that they live in a house by the sea and decide what to do when there are no more titans trying to eat them.

A fic in which Eren and Levi try to figure out this living together thing, and Levi realizes Eren's puppy dog eyes do not lose their effectiveness even when he's no longer a teenager.

* Wings of Freedom (Sugarplumsenpai) : All I can Say about this series is to please read it. Beautifully written and well loved by the fandom.

Blackbird (inkshaming) : The war is over and after the fall of the titans, humanity has begun to take its first steps beyond the walls...

...leaving Humanity's Strongest behind them to recover from medical complications that result in an amputation that leaves him feeling trapped, broken, and alone.

And he might have stayed that way too, if it hadn’t been for a certain green-eyed soldier who was too stubborn for his own good.

Enter Eren Jaeger. It's love at first sight but Levi stubbornly refuses to act on his feelings. Can Hanji and their friends, including one very attractive Eren Jaeger, convince Levi that it's okay for him to try to be happy despite his broken past?

Despite all of this, Levi finds himself distracted by the red long johns the fashion-challenged Eren wears under all of his winter gear and just how to get into them…

Double Tap That (Chofanus) : Levi lives the glamorous life of a social media star. People can't get enough of his seductive and cold instagram persona. Things gets hectic when his past catches up to him and he has to face the consequences of hiding his son from the world and his baby daddy. (Bottom Levi)

* The First Words (alphaofallcats) : The first words your soulmate says to you, upon initially meeting, are inked on your wrist. It's a cool thing for the world, except Levi is deaf. Minor complications ensue.

* It's Always the Quiet One (BurningBroadripple) : In a world where you can read your soulmates thoughts on your body, it should be easy to find them. Unfortunately for Eren, his soulmate seems to keep their thoughts to themself. Cannon-ish, but only up to the end of the first season. Takes place three years after. Eren-centric in the beginning, with Levi POV chapters later on. The slowest of slow burns - this one is all about getting them together.

Fumbling to Make Contact (BurningBroadripple) : Levi struggles with showing affection in their new relationship - thankfully his soulmark makes it a bit easier. ( continuation of It's Always the Quiet One).

You Set My Heart on Fire (driedupwishes) : “Your mother’s going to think I’m a fucking idiot,” Eren mutters. It’s soft, half muffled into the scarf Levi still has wrapped around his neck as Eren drops his head to rest there. The ghost of Eren’s breath against his skin sends a wave of goosebumps across his skin, even though the inside of the rink is blissfully warm compared to the drifting snow outside. Levi rolls his eyes and pushes back from the wall of the rink, wedging himself in between Eren and the ice so that when he leans up on tiptoe they’re almost nose to nose.

“My mother’s not going to think you’re a fucking idiot just because can’t tell the difference between a toe loop and flip. She doesn’t have a goddamn quiz ready for you, okay? You could mix up ice dancing with pair skating and she wouldn’t give a fuck.”

In Living Memory (Ketita) : The war is over, and Levi and Eren are on their way to the sea at last. If only Levi could remember how they got there. ( Heavy angst :( )

And Famine (sciencefictioness) : “No one eats until this place is clean. Not just this morning, but every morning. Get it done, and we’ll go from there.”

Everyone’s eyes snap over to him. Auruo grins, obviously having expected this, a devious kind of enjoyment on his face. Petra’s smirk is softer, but she’s amused too, and she gestures over towards Levi at the collective groans of the recruits.

“Captain Levi will be overseeing your training personally, so I suggest you get to it.”

There are a flurry of salutes, a handful of half-hearted acknowledgments, yes Captain, as the recruits all slowly move to obey.

All except one, who’s crouched next to a bunk with his hand in his pack, frozen in place. He’s staring up at Levi, eyes wide and vivid bright, irises so green it’s almost eerie. His hair is wild, tangled from the ride in and falling in messy russet waves across his cheekbones. He cocks his head to the side, and his nostrils flare as he breathes in deep, brows furrowing in confusion.

Something inside of Levi throbs, and it’s painful, and suffocating.

As though he’s full of smoke, and there is nowhere for it to go.

* Rewind (Tammyiia): Eren is just your average medical student, on his way to work in the early morning when he gets hit by a car. His memories of the past had always haunted him, but never to this extent. Eren finds himself in the past.

* A Series of Sweet Events (SimplyTsundere) : Fresh out of prison and ready for his second chance at life, Eren Jaeger proceeds to finally do the one thing he's wanted to do since he got out two weeks ago: go to the park. The spring winds were brisk, the sunlight was bright and warm, but his dog, Yvaine, did not want to agree with the good weather. After yanking the leash from his friend's hands, Eren's dog takes off and plows right through a picnic of a group of strangers. Eren could only sit and watch in horror while his dog destroyed the get together. As part of his parole was wearing an electronic monitoring anklet and the radius he was given would not allow him to cross the road. Luckily his friend and sister were in tow and collected his dog but that didn't stop of the men from the picnic from walking over to him with a deeply furrowed brow....and was that almost a smile?

After the sudden, disastrous meeting Eren is captivated by this man and offers to make it up to him. How? Well he doesn't know exactly since the man refuses. Eren, however, is not giving up. Whatever it takes, he wants to take this man out. Somehow he's managed to enrapture him with a simple conversation and Eren knows that it isn't one-sided.

Never End (twisting_vine_x) : Basically, the one in which Levi and Eren have been best friends for years, and Levi is so absolutely gone over him.

Stay, Always (folaigh) : The war against the Titans is over. Levi, retired from the Survey Corps, now works at the orphanage Historia established. Squad Leader Eren Yeager is a frequent visitor between expeditions. When Levi learns that many people assume he and Eren have been a couple for years, he is taken aback– is he really that obvious? Meanwhile, Eren has something on his mind too, but he won’t say what.

I Will Never, Love Another, Like You (ZWorld) : “So, did you ask him?” Ymir asked, fork in the air and pointing straight at him.

“Ask who what?” Eren questioned, feigning naivety.

“Oh, my, god. Dad, come on!” Ymir whined, dropping her fork loudly against the wood. “Are you kidding me!?”

Eren swallowed, his eyes widening at her sudden outburst. “Ymir, I told you-”

“Grow a pair, Dad!” she shouted. Eren gasped, beyond shocked at his daughter’s forwardness.

“Ymir-”

“No seriously, please. For the love of God! I’m so sick of watching you act like a love sick puppy. Please spare me and Nan. Please! Ask him out already! Come on!”

I'll Be Back by Sunset (Arlene0401) : "It was pathetic really, being hooked up on a person who had left, seeking comfort in the company of others who were equally wounded. It should be even more pathetic to waste time on the porch every evening around sunset. Every evening, without fail, he would mumble something about catching some fresh air and his housemates would let it pass. I am transfixed by the music while the technicians swarm the radio booth and I'm pushed back against the wall. It seems like everyone in this city has  a case of amnesia, but this song seeps ambrosia,  and this city sleeps to remember.

I was debating sharing on this account for a while, but I think I’m ready! This past May, I published my 2020 Honors Thesis, the culmination of my undergrad education. 

The Radio Star is a radio drama written in verse, following a tradition of poets who wrote for the airwaves during the golden age of radio. 

The story follows Annie, a public radio host, who lives a routine life of broadcasting propaganda in the Valley with No Name as her government of “her great nation” gears up for war with an unknown adversary. When a mysterious pirate hijacks her station’s broadcasts and speaks for the radical Moon Beam movement, Annie finds herself falling in love with the voice on the other side of the rebel broadcasts. The two broadcasters find themselves in a game of secret messages and calls, leading up to Annie’s escape to freedom outside of the valley.

Sony’s Universe would work much better if they focused on legacy heroes

Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past weeks, we all know that Spider-Man is not going to show-up in the MCU anymore. Sure, they could arrange a new deal, but for the moment, forget about seeing him again alongside The Avengers.

Sony is very likely to integrate him into their own cinematic, Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC), and do at least a soft-reboot, with the same cast but ignoring the events of the MCU. They already kick-started their little universe with Venom, with it’s sequel coming and Morbius starring Jared Leto, as well as the announced Black Cat, Silver Sable, Silk, Dusk, Nightwatch, and (*sigh*) Jackpot. Although, from all those announced, god knows how many will actually enter production (Silver and Black, Sinister Six, anyone?), specially now that they have Spidey all for themselves, he’s very likely to take priority. They’re very likely to continue with more spin-offs entirely focused on Spider-Man villains.

Okay, so honest question: outside of maybe Black Cat, Silk and maybe Silver Sable, does anyone really care about the others? Do you even know who Jackpot and Nightwatch are? Did Sony ever looked at Leto’s track and didn’t noticed that his only financially successful film is Suicide Squad? Does anyone really think that a universe build with villains turned into heroes as the leads is feasible?

If the answer to most of those questions is no, then you can see that the SUMC is heading to disaster. Sure, Venom was success, but let’s face it, building your cinematic universe on a “so bad it’s good” base is really shaky.

Sony is not entirely lost, however. They still have plenty of heroes. If there’s something that has characterized the Spider-Man mythos the past decade or so (I would go even further, to the 90′s and the clone saga) is the expansion of the Spider-Family. The aspect of legacy has been heavily played-up since the introduction of Ben Reilly, and the introduction of more diverse heroes with rich backstories, and (in most cases) independent from Peter Parker, opens a huge door for Sony to exploit. It’s much better having a universe where Spider-Man pressence is felt instead of awkwardly having Spider-Man villains headlining the universe with no Spider-Man on sight.

So let’s call this, The Spider-Man Legacy Universe, Phase 1.

Miles Morales - Spider-Man

I won’t even bother to explain him. I know you all saw ItSV. And if you haven’t, go watch it.

He would be the main face of this potential universe. He is THE Spider-Man. He would be slightly older in here, already being Spider-Man fo a few years by now, to show that he has more experience than all the upcoming heroes. Gwen would be introduced as the new girl at school, but she has her own agenda,

Mayday Parker - Spider-Girl

The daughter of the true Spider-Man! She’s Peter’s and MJ’s daughter, whose powers kicked-in when she entered high school. Her origin could be done fairly quickly: she’s Spider-Man’s daughter. There you go. Introduce villain.

Though, this would work to give more of a backstory to this world. Peter’s fate, for instance. He didn’t die in his last battle with Green Goblin. He was, however, incapacitated. He still lives a happy life with her wife and her two daughters. Yes, I said two.

At least in this version, I would introduce both of them. Annie being younger like in the earlier Renew Your Vows series, she would be the younger sister of Mayday. And no, she doesn’t have powers... yet.

Anya Corazón - Araña

Objectively speaking, the best superhero of all time (okay, I might be a little bit biased on that. JUST a little bit ;)). Anya Corazón is a mexican-puerto rican brooklynite who one night was caught between two warring factions: the Spider Society and the Sisterhood of Wasps. After almost dying during the attack, the mage of the Spider Society, Miguel, uses a ritual to save her, kick-starting her powers. After that, she becomes the hero Araña and fights alongside the Spider Society, at the same time that she tries to discover the dark side of the organization and other secrets, like what or who is inside the bunker...

This one would introduce mystical aspects into the universe. Kinda like being the Dr. Strange equivalent, introducing concepts such as the Web of Life, The Other, and, therefore, the Spider-Verse. This concepts would be key moving forward with the next heroes...

Kaine - Scarlet Spider

Kaine “Parker”, after living a miserable life as a failed experiment and seeing his brother die, he ultimately dies... before inexplicably coming back to life. He retires to Dallas where he tries his best to live a normal life. However, being a Parker means that you will always be dragged to something. And so, after encountering a young immigrant girl almost at the point of dying, he suits up once again and reclaims his place as the Scarlet Spider.

More exploration into the concepts introduced in Araña and a look into the Clone Saga, which will also spawn stuff.

Flash Thompson - Agent Venom

Flash as Venom is best Venom. There, I said it. Former bully of Parker, later one of his best friends, and #1 Spider-Man fan. Has been operating for years as a government agent after being disabled since his time in the army. Ex-husband of Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat, and father of Felicity Thompson Hardy, now a coach at a Philadelphia high school.

We take a little break from the more Spider-centric narrative into the symbiote world. As well, the more worldwide adventures of Flash would let us see the rest of the world in a post-Spider-Man era.

Jessica Drew - Spider-Woman

A former CIA Agent, she now works as a private investigator alongside her partner Lindsay McCabe. Everything seems normal until one day she’s contacted by Parker Industries (!) for a special mission related to her past. She’s gonna have to suit up again in order to discover more about herself and get her bread.

Similar to Agent Venom, more worldbuilding and we see the existence of more organizations and factions within. I would also like to throw in Ultimate Jessica Drew as a potential partner, but would need more development to see if it isn’t too convoluted.

After all the establishment, we get a team-up movie where all this heroes meet for the first time, and I’m gonna leave this here. There’s already hints about heroes around, without going overboard like certain other failed cinematic universes had (Dark Universe, TASM). The most important thing is to not rush things and take their respective development. Focusing on the legacy heroes shows how important Spider-Man truly is in the world, and that’s what they should aim for.

other character’s harry potter verses 

since i have a lot of harry potter followers i figured i’d throw my non canon harry potter character’s verses out here. feel free to ask for any details you need on them. i’d love to write more of them. 

sophia keener - normally a marvel semi oc, harley keener’s sister 

ravenclaw student a year below harry; believes she’s muggleborn but in fact her absent father was a wizard. ( harley keeners can be adapted into this verse wherever ). terrible on a broom, great in anything that would be like ecology or biology. sometimes she misses muggle school because she feels she was better suited for it, but she feels out of place at home too. obsessed with muggle comics. wears a hello kitty watch. great at understanding anything to do with ‘living’ charms - charms and spells used for people instead of objects. 

janet - normally janet from the good place 

hogwarts ghost. she’s unattached to any house. she’ll tell you she went to hogwarts but has no answer as to when. there are no records of what house she was in or whether or not she attended. she knows the answer to everything. she’s the one who gives students size to the house elves so they can get their start of term jumpers. everyone thinks it’s magic and it’s just janet. 

annie smith - normally the kid from the magic tree house series 

hufflepuff first year student roughly five years below harry ( i’ll generally write her as eleven at first interaction ). obsessed with animals.thinks everything is pretty cool. muggleborn. wants to learn it all. keeps stealing chickens from hagrid’s hut to save. once stole a golden snidget and fed it like a hummingbird. hatstall between gryffindor and hufflepuff. 

winston bishop - normally from new girl 

look i said this as a joke but now it’s real. he’s defense against the dark arts professor. he was a hufflepuff during his time at hogwarts. 

aubrey daly - normally a star wars resistance oc 

gryffindor. quidditch chaser. reserve until third year. in george and fred’s year. likes tinkering with things and creating spells. pureblood. plays professionally once she’s graduated, comes back to fight in the battle of hogwarts. becomes a spell creator after retiring from quidditch, also spends some time developing new spells for brooms.
