No one knows how the Mystery Podcast Trio broadcast works.

There's no set station for it. Only that it comes on at night. It comes on as a warning broadcast, much like old TV broadcasting channels. It's not really broadcasted anywhere else other than Gravity Falls, Oregon. No one in town can explain exactly how this works, but they can attest to how much it's helped them in combating against the more dangerous anomalies that live in the area. It helps them learn about cursed objects and what tech can be used to drive away some of them. However, there are rare moments where the station can cause harm.

That's usually when the Mystery Caller calls in.

Reports of people developing headaches and other unpleasant symptoms occur whenever he calls into the Mystery Podcast Trio. Nightmares, hallucinations and paranoia have been common whenever listeners hear the Mystery Caller speak for too long. They can't place exactly who or what he is, but they know on an cellular level that something about him is.....unnatural.

Otherworldly.

The hosts, Sixer, F and Lee have done their best to shut down the broadcast when the Mystery Caller dials in, but somehow he always alludes their attempts and gets through. They can't hang up, for his calls come through no matter what. Any barriers they've tried seems fruitless.

The Mystery Caller seems to enjoy tormenting F, and seems to take a liking to Sixer. As for Lee he seems to be hostile towards him, much to Sixer's concern and outrage. After all a possible threat to his twin is a no go. And the tormenting of his colleague makes him even more angry. Yet......Sixer can not help but be intrigued by the Mystery Caller.

Just who is he?

And why does he offer hints about anomalies and other creatures on occasion?

Name

Full name is Evangeline Primula Ashlin Shlafrock, or just Eva for short.

Other nicknames include Evie, Geline, Prim and Ash — Though, only friends or close ones may use such nicknames. She is also often affectionately nicknamed Jelly by her parents ( which can be a source of embarrassment to her at times ).

As she grows older, she will go by the alias/business name Lady Fortuna.

Gender

Eva is a transgender woman. She had been aware of the fact she was trans since she was quite young, and Roi and Asher were more than supportive of her when she made this discovery.

They did plenty of research to help her socially transition and handle official legal documentations, until she was developed and ready enough to take hormones and other gender-affirming medical procedures.

Her pronouns are she/they.

Personality

Charming, clever, suave, smooth-talking, humorous — She is a woman overflowing with charisma and has a propensity for showmanship, which often enables her to attract people's undivided attention ( which Eva quite enjoys! ). Eva is also bold, sharp, curious, cunning, a bit selfish, greedy and mischievous.

As she grows, Eva gains interest in the arcane, along with fortune-telling and tarot readings — Pairing these interests along with her knack of drawing people in, eventually lead her into the Fortune Telling business.

Whether or not she has actual skills involved with Fortune-readings and other arcane abilities, is a highly kept secret and one she quite enjoys keeping to herself — especially if it means she can hear people make speculations on whether she is genuine or a fraud. Either way, she enjoys the drama of it all and finds it amusing if people try to figure her out. In the end, she is still considered mysterious!

For the most part, she portrays herself as open and extroverted, happily welcoming the company of others. She is rarely found without a smile, or with tears in her eyes from a bad day. She considers herself mentally strong and not easily swayed or pushed, but when she is pushed — Oh boy, it's not pretty. In fact, results often end up with violence, if she is pushed to the point of anger.

Special Talents

Like Roi, she has inherited his camera-demon like abilities, though uniquely to her, she is able to capture a photo of someone and see a potential future for them. This ability greatly aids her in her future fortune-telling business. And of course, her talents include her knowledge about the arcane, the occult, magic, and other various topics that relate to those fields.

Other special talents of hers include mixing potions, balms and brews ( thanks to her Great Aunt Lin ), mainly healing based ones. She's also got quite the knack for cooking and baking, to the point she sells a popular cook book in the future.

Who they like better

She is incredibly fond of both her parents! She wouldn't be able to decide. Though, sometimes she can find herself favouring one parent over the other, depending if one maybe spoils her more that day.

Who they take after more

Eva has inherited traits from both, though she perhaps leans a bit more to Roi in a physical sense. She also gained his sense of curiosity, need to gather knowledge and his keen observational skills.

She absolutely has inherited a few of Asher's more animalistic traits, though they may not appear as obvious. Some of these traits include a higher sense of smell and taste, and occasionally she makes noises that are akin to a fox, usually just in the presence of her close ones, though. She shares a love for meat with Asher too.

Personal Head canon

Roi is the one that helped Eva choose a name when she asked for a more feminine one. He suggested Evangeline because of the movie 'The Princess and the Frog' ( a movie that is both one of his and Eva's favourites ). She ends up loving the new name, especially because she thought it was elegant and 'suiting for a lovely lady like herself'.

Hmmm. I don't know what to think. Finished season 2 and feel... hmm. No words I can formulate at the moment. All I can really say is that...only having two seasons was a bad call. Especially wrapping up literally everything up in the second season with only **looks at smudged writing on my hand** 9 episodes.

1981: The First Encounter

It started with a phone call. Just another night at the shack and its broadcasting station. Ford sat in the booth, while Fiddleford and Stanley kept an eye on the tapes and equipment. His journal was open in front of him as he relaid the newest information the group had gathered.

"Despite their cute nature, gnomes can be quite dangerous if allowed to assemble and form a larger physical body. It's best to proceed with caution when it comes to-"

The sudden shrill ring of their landline filled the studio, interrupting Ford mid sentence. Confused he looked up towards Fiddleford and Stanley, who looked just as off put as he was. After a moment's hesitation Ford finally picked up.

"Hello? You're currently on the air with the Mystery Podcast Trio. Do you have a question, dear caller?"

Ford asked, professional and firm. A silence was what he was met with. Before the sounds of static and a voice that sounded throughout the whole station broke it.

"Well, well, well! This is an interesting turn of events, isn't it?? Maybe I can finally have some entertainment for once."

The voice chirped out, seemingly full of glee. However, Ford bit back a wince of pain. The voice was strange, distorted, and weird. The strange static that accompanied it felt like it was slowly drilling away deep into his head. It made Ford's skin crawl.

"Who is this?"

The oldest Pines twin barked out accidentally. His tone immediately made Stan tense up, his gaze staring at Ford in concern. Ready to intervene. Fidds on the other hand had broken out into a cold sweat, his gaze becoming shifty and uneasy.

"Don't worry your pretty little head about it IQ. Just know that I'm a.....friend. An ally if you play your cards right!"

The voice said, brushing off the unease like it was no big deal. As if his very presence wasn't off-putting. It was becoming to terrifyingly clear, that whoever was on the other side wasn't human. But rather something strange and unnatural. Ford tried to think of a way to turn off the call but it was so hard to think with that God awful static.

It hurt, the static. It was like it was growing louder and Stanford swears his ears were bleeding-

"SHIT FIDDS TURN IT OFF."

Stan's voice cut through the white noise. Ford blinked, his ears ringing.

"Ah damnit all come on turn off you piece of-!!"

Fiddleford's voice came from the background, panicked and frightened. Ford felt hands grab him and tear the headphones off of him. His ears rang loudly, painfully. Vision swimming Ford looked up to see Stan looking at him in fear and protective anger, and on his hands were-

Stanford jumped at he felt something wet and warm leak out of his ears. With a trembling hand he reached up to feel the sticky residue of blood on his six fingertips.

His ears were bleeding.....

The trio were knocked out of their horrified stupor by loud laughter.

"Hahaha-! Sorry about that. I should have warned ya about that! I'll let you all go for now! Till next time, Fordsy, Stanley, Fiddleford!"

The mysterious voice cackled out before hanging up. As soon as the call ended, it was as if a heavy cloud had disappeared. Ford could barely make out the next few moments, glimpses of Stanley and Fiddleford's voices and actions of helping him coming into focus on and off. It'd only be till after Ford's ears had been checked and cleaned and the three, still shaking from the encounter, realized.

It had known their names.

i feel like above all else, the crows emphasize the importance of family. there is unison in the bonds they share, and it is driven by a common goal: to finish out their contracts.

of course, its not all sunshine and rainbows up in the crow house. when you deviate from the oaths you’re meant to hold, there will be consequences. case in point, the venatori and crow secret meetings and planning to elope.

I suspected that while my rook was not a crow, I would earn disdain or, worse, their distrust, if i had chosen to secretly correspond a warning that the couple were hunted down by their respective factions. instead, i chose to report them. and that resulted in said crow poisoning his venatori lover

i am not saying that the crows are ruthless. there is cruelty behind their actions, yes, but to them, it is a necessity when maintaining order within their walls. If there is any sign of a crow deferring to another cause, there will be recompense to prove to the talons that said crow is worthy of their trust again.

it is not an ordeal where one could simply apologize to their boss for and promise to never do it again. absolutely not. you have to show loyalty—and that is in the form of spilling blood, even if it’s from a loved one.

this just goes to show how serious the antivan crows enforce their rules, and they carry out caterina’s will whilst she is away. her stalwart resolve echoes into them, especially into Lucanis, having followed in her shadow and becoming her example for so long. The crows continue to intrigue me, and i do intend to research more into their faction’s history.
