Tsukasa should've known better than to drop his guard when he was alone. Even without the presence of his unpredictable troupe, it was only a matter of time before their chaos found its way back to him. And this chaos, often times, came in the form of a hyperenergetic pink - haired gymnast full of parocosms and odd expressions he couldn't translate. Simply because he wasn't at work didn't mean she couldn't make an appearance at any time without warning.

But, it was a rule of thumb Tsukasa had forgotten. He had felt too safe in his time spent running errands -- first to the grocery store, then the pharmacy, and now to check in on the art store for supplies. At no point had he designs for meeting his troupe, let alone Emu. However, he should've known from experience that a lack of design didn't preclude the chance from happening anyway -- and he was forcibly reminded of that reality when a high shrill and a hard impact came from behind.

" GWAH -- ! " Tsukasa barely corrected himself from toppling over, balancing on a single leg and waving his arms around wildly for control. The collar of his shirt choked at his neck, not enough to restrict his breathing but enough to feel the cut in his airways. He righted himself from the frenzy, grabbing on to Emu's legs. However, that didn't seem to dissipate the discomfort now reaching into his neck.

" LET . . . GO . . . EMU . . . " He choked out, trying to move her hands, " YOU'RE PULLING . . . MY COLLAR . . . AGH! "

By the time he even registered her voice, he was already getting blindsided by the force of her body up against his back. Maybe if he had been paying more attention, he might've reacted more accordingly.

Half the campus knows both of you as rivals. As they say, action speaks louder than words. Every interaction you've had with him are either passive aggressive or just straight up roasting eachother.

I definitely think kenma is the definition of actions speak louder than words. he isn’t one for big, grand declarations of love. he’s there every day in the small things, mundane in nature (don’t get me wrong, he still shows up for the big things too).

he’s there to nurse you back to health when you’re sick. giving your hand a squeeze under the table when you meet his parents for the first time, and he doesn’t let go for the entirety of the night. you’ll come home to a gift on your bed, the book you had mentioned in passing last week wrapped beautifully in brown paper. during the day he sends you memes, but when he knows your having an off day he shares more snippets about his day, what he’s up too and what that one coworker did during the meeting

he keeps his analytical eyes on you when you’re both out in a group, gauging your body language, are you tired? uncomfortable? need a drink? he’s there. eyes completely on you when you’re speaking. if someone interrupts, he’s there to urge you to keep talking because he wants to hear what you have to say, he cares about what you have to say. he keeps a lazy hand rested on your thigh when you’re sitting together.

in the late hours of the night is when he’ll speak his love for you. he’s gentle, whispering soft ‘i love you’s’ in your ear. murmuring how pretty you are while he lazily runs his fingers through your hair.

Anyway I wanted to touch on part of the convos that've been going on in her server and clear up (once again) my side on why this is an issue since people in her server seem to exist on a different dimensional plane, ignoring everything I've said only to make up their own incorrect interpretations of my feelings/why I've done what I have here on tumblr. The SS i'll be speaking on first:

I'd like to state again for the record that while the fact she's 15 in a 16+ server is an issue (especially because its out of special treatment) It's not the main problem at hand here. The main problem with her being let in is the fact Mel allowed her to LIE about her age to get in and the fact that apparently she was also going to make an exception for another 15 yr old to be in from what I've been told? Coupled with her other recent behaviors it makes it all the more concerning. With Khai specifically/s past [that being lying to get into adult spaces to erp, draw/exchange nsfw, and a whole lot of other unsavory/inappropriate things] which again, Mel was and is 100% aware of, It's not okay for her to be letting this behavior slide and even encouraging it at this point. Khai has been lying about her age for years now and the fact she's being enabled and allowed to continue said behaviors is just not okay period, she already gets away with it but it's teaching her she can continue to do that without consequence having mel make an exception specifically just for her.

It's all genuinely so weird and just eugh, I'm extremely disappointed to see mel giving such special treatment to a whole kid just because they're besties now, especially with how she used to feel about/talk about khai before she became a wide eyed fan that looked up to her, genuinely what is up with her befriending the most parasocial fans ever. Aswell, whether you're best friends or not you shouldn't be letting/encouraging a friends bad behavior, this goes for both mels and khais actions respectively, from what I can tell they just gas eachother up and let eachother do bad shit just because, obviously khai cant really do anything to stop mels bad behaviors since she's a kid and that's not her job, but its still worth mentioning. Mel NEEDS to set boundaries if she insists on being best friends with fans/people significantly younger than her, she needs to learn what is appropriate and what is not, It's not hard to act normal around younger friends. [Imo someone 18+ honestly shouldn't be having 15 yr old best friends but that's just a personal opinion and my own morals]

And just to mention once again, I'd appreciate if the people in her server wouldn't just blatantly talk shit about me and especially would stop theorizing and prying into my mental health/BPD. I absolutely do not appreciate my disorder being used to push the idea that I just want to bring her down, just because I'm hurt from her actions doesn't make me speaking out on her blatantly terrible behavior any less valid, I can be hurt and truthfully talk about everything that's gone on simultaneously despite what a lot of people seem to believe. You've all made it quite clear you do not care about victims and would rather use "well I was (blank) and-" statements to discredit everything I or anyone else have to say about this, aswell as the whole "this should've been private!" argument as if I didn't try to handle this privately. Just because someone says "I'm not being groomed" or says they aren't a victim doesn't mean they actually aren't a victim, Its extremely common for a victim to be unaware they are one or even go as far as defending the abuser. For a guy who does detective work for a living, Yagami can be laughably dumb and awkward. This is actually super adorable to most people, although he thinks it's super embarassing.

Super good at hiding his hand, if that makes sense. He will not tip you off in any sense with even the slightest hint that he's into you. You will not be able to tell by looking so don't try.

Definitely more of an "actions speak louder than words" guy. If he likes you, then he's going to see you. That's that.

One of the better texters of all of the boys. Understands emojis and responds pretty quickly. Does not understand any memes to save his life. Send him animal pics though, he likes that.

Don't be afraid to blow up his phone! He's a busy boy so he might pass out without remembering to call you, but if you call him he will answer, even if he's very sleepy.

He's one of the more experienced boys with dates, less so with long term relationships though. He knows where to go, what to eat, what gifts to get, etc. Don't ask him about decorating an apartment. He don't know shit.

Everyone always assumes that Yagami is not a sexual guy because he's on the quiet side (plus he won't openly flirt like Kaito will with someone he likes). Ironic, given that between the two Yagami is the top (more on that later).

Slightly higher than average sex drive, but working long nights all by himself have given him an ungodly tolerance so if you're busy, he can wait. Normally, he'd just jack off but in a relationship, that energy gets pent up until the next time you guys fuck so... watch out.

Again, Yagami isn't a picky guy and is pretty open minded so if you've got kinks, he's not going to back down. He's seen so much weird shit from work in general that it's super hard to phase him. Maybe like no knife-play though? There IS a limit somewhere.

okay watching Dungeon Meshi episode 10 and just. !!!! anime spoilers here

I don't think I thought this at this point in the manga, but in the anime, when Chilchuck brings up "you'll have to fight it with just three people" it seems to me it's not just to say "that's not in my contract, I can't do it and I'm being clear about my lines". Like, yeah Marcille and Laios should already know that, but also it doesn't seem unreasonable that he'd tend to remind the people he works with not to include him in combat plans - but I think maybe at this point he brings it up because he wishes he could help. Like at this point he's put over a week into this extra work - yeah, he was paid upfront and is technically just upholding his end of his contract, but he also absolutely had an out earlier, we know he stuck around because he cares - anyway he's put in this extra time and effort and eaten monsters all to rescue Falin, and now they're down there getting ready to face the dragon, the final hurdle to actually saving her, and he knows he can't really do anything more. But he wants to. So when he speaks up, it feels kind of unprompted, and I think that's because it's prompted by him thinking along these lines. He's a realist - and he's a (much memed) union man - so he's not going to try to do something stupid that's outside his job description and expertise. But he wishes he could, and since he's standing there thinking that, he reminds everyone and himself that he'll be sitting out the fight. And then immediately gets defensive even though Laios and Marcille already knew that he wouldn't fight. and then supporting that, as soon as the plan shifts to one where there's a possibility he CAN do something, not fighting but serving as a distraction, he jumps right on it.

also this all feels very supported by him snapping 'you're cringe!' at Laios for expressing genuine emotion. Like okay Chilchuck. Not everyone is completely unable to voice their feelings. He's not even an 'actions speak louder than words' guy, he's like. His words are half truths or even lies and his actions tell the full story.

I usually don't make posts of this nature, but something had to be addressed since it involves my racial identity as a black women. This involves my experience in the server with one individual.

This is a post to share my experience concerning an individual who displayed direct and indirect racial prejudice towards me in the @bebopcrew server. First and foremost, I must say that the Bebop crew is an amazing server and, although I am particularly shy as it can take me awhile to feel comfortable enough to socialize in groups, the members there made me feel welcomed and supported me, as well as many writers/artists alike.

But one member in particular, @/Drasino, stood out to me that treated me differently than the rest. I thought I could put the situation behind me and let it rest, but due to seeing them on my dash often continuously calls back to mind what occurred.

This happened when I had begun to try to come out of my shell, attempting to socialize and engage in conversations in certain channels. I left a compliment on some insight they shared in a channel, but I never got a response that showed he acknowledged me. I also tried to engage in them again, but he didn't acknowledge me and proceeded to ignore me. Interestingly, he would engage with other people in the server and their stuff, but nope, not me.

Ironically, a day or so later right after, Drasino posted an image where he outwardly mocked the Afrikaan language. That was the first red flag for me. I asked one of the admins about what they posted, what his intention and motives could be about the crude image. The admin got right on it and confronted Drasino about it, to which he acted oblivious and played innocent. But after that incident, the admin updated the rules to emphasize how racist and other toxic content, comments, or memes are not allowed.

Afterward, there wasn't no more images of that sort again. However, he proceeded to deliberately ignore me and my stuff while engaging and initiating conversations with other people. I also tried to involve a few people in a channel where he and other people were talking, which he easily could've engaged with me as well, but instead, he proceeded to switch over to another channel to try initiate a totally other conversation, again, deliberately and willingly trying to exclude me from his presence. There was also a comment a admin told me where Drasino made a joke about monkeys as well.

All of these things began to pile up. Even though he acted oblivious about the picture he posted, you have to remember, Drasino, ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. THE WAY YOU TREAT OTHERS IS ENOUGH TO KNOW THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE. I am not stupid; I knew exactly what you were doing, and your actions towards me further proved my case. I do my utmost best to extend kindness towards others, try to make others feel welcomed, and I don't like it when others feel left out. I extended kindness towards and courtesy towards him in the same manner as I try for anyone else. But he didn't for me; the fact I'm the only black person ( plus with the only black oc) in the server who he outwardly and deliberately chose to not give me the same courtesy and respect as he gave other people stuck out like a sore thumb. Plus, that image was all I needed to know because he knew exactly what he was doing and proceeded to downright ignore me.

This type of behavior something I wouldn't expect to experience in this type of community, but here we are. Shinichro Watanabe created a show with a diverse cast of characters; Cowboy Bebop is abundant with diversity of different languages, cultures, ethnicities, and nationalities-it is an element I love about the show. Anyone who is a fan should understand and appreciate the message and vision that Watanabe delivered for us. If Watanabe appreciates and respect others, no matter their race, culture, or language, a fan of his work should share that same openness. With that being said, showing racial prejudice, anti-blackness, xenophobia, or any other type of prejudice towards another person is completely unacceptable here.

I decided to make this post to make others aware of my experience with this individual, and for others who look like me to be wary of their company, so they don't also have to go through the same thing I experienced.

So let's talk about that. Are Dean's feelings up to interpretation?

Simply put, yes.

Basically, in s15e18 "Despair", when Cas is giving his whole "I love you" speech, Dean doesn't say very much. At random intervals, he gives NPC-type comments* like "Why does this sound like a goodbye?" and "Don't do this, Cas". He does not ever say "I love you too" (unless you're watching the Spanish dubbed version, where he says exactly that).

On the surface, I know my friends (who only get their spn info from me holding them hostage in my discord server), took issue with the line "don't do this". They kind of read it as Dean not respecting Cas in Cas's final moments-- in their eyes, Dean didnt want Cas to confess because he's uncomfortable with Cas's feelings. But the speech isn't about Dean-- it's about Cas giving himself permission to be happy.

That line of thinking plus the past allegations of Jensen Ackles being homophobic is usually where people get the idea that Dean is homophobic. From what I can see, the "Dean is homophobic" is mostly part of the meme of the scene in general, and not something most people actually believe, but some people do genuinely believe he is homophobic. This belief is also supported by Dean's hypermasculine personality in general and the comments he makes; we never once see him outwardly homophobic to any of the openly queer SPN characters, but especially in earlier seasons, he makes jokes (like Sam being a girl because he has long hair) that you would expect someone homophobic to say.

I do think homophobic Dean a valid interpretation, but the logic kind of ignores some of the context of the scene.

For one, there's a moment after the confession where Dean gets a call from "Cas" (it's Lucifer) telling him that Cas is outside the Bunker and needs to be let out. Dean breaks into a sprint to get to the door, and I think this action speaks louder than words (or, lack thereof). Whether or not Dean reciprocates, he cares about Cas as a friend and he wants Cas to be alive again.

For two, when it comes to "don't do this", the more common interpretation is that Dean doesn't want Cas to sacrifice himself. Again, Cas starts the speech by explaning that he will die during his happiest moment, and then transitions into saying that confessing his love to Dean is his happiest moment. Dean doesn't want Castiel to defeat Billie by sacrificing himself.

As a destiel shipper, my interpretation of this scene is a slight variation of the previous one. In my general view of SPN, Dean has known he's in love with Cas since at least s11, and he's known Cas has loved him back for a while, but he's just never felt like it was the right time to start a relationship (constant apocalypses and everything) and he's worried that he'll screw it up. In my head, when he says "don't do this", it means more like "don't do this [love confession like this]". Like, Dean doesn't want their first ILYs* to be marred by the fact that Cas is sacrificing himself.

So, last question-- how do people read the scene as Dean liking Cas back when he never verbally reciprocates?

Some people see Dean's silence as him either not liking Cas back or not realizing he likes Cas back yet, but there's another option here. The reason Cas is dying is because he believes this is his happiest moment. His speech outright states that he believes Dean does not love him back ("the one thing I want is the thing I cannot have"). It's totally possible that Dean reciprocates, but in his mind, saying that really would trigger Cas's happiest moment. There are some great fix-it fics built on the premise of "Dean insults the sht outta Cas to spoil Cas's happiest moment and stop him from being taken by the Empty".

* okay last point. I wasn't sure where to insert this but I think it's insanely interesting. The scene in s15e18 is not actually the first time Cas tells Dean he loves him. In s12, there is an episode where Cas believes he is dying, and he says the line "I love you. I love all of you" to the small crowd of Dean, Sam, and Mary. NPC behavior from Dean ensues as he insists Cas isn't going to die without ever acknowledging the "I love you". The common interpretation is that the first ILY is for Dean, and the second ILY is Cas speaking to the Winchesters as a whole. Do with that as you will lol

The pain is deep and festering across his chest.

Alastor thought he may have hidden it better, but apparently not enough. Blood soaked through his shirt, and he doubled over in pain inside the Lobby.

Those blasted angelic weapons really did a number on him. He had been cleaning it and rewrapping it, hoping his magic would heal it quickly enough, but it hasn't. Not in the way he needed it to. The process is unbearably slow, but he did his best to keep this hidden in order to not worry anyone else.

He didn't want to seem weak.

However it was Husker that finally said something, and Alastor was in too much pain to even fight it any longer.

So here they are, in his room, while Husker hums a song to him and cleans the blood from his chest. Alastor stared blankly at a wall, not sure what to say or do. This is a rare occurrence and not one she shares with anyone.

"You do know if you mention this to anyone, I will shave you bald."

i am absolutely determined to finish my year of the otp/year of jason and slade series before the end of the month. a snippet from the dicktim i've been working on:

Sneaking in to run Dick a nice bath after a long day with Bruce is the least he can do, really. And, probably more importantly, he wants to. Wants to make Dick feel good in any way that he can. He can tell that Dick wants the same thing - he brings Tim coffee to the Bunker or the office, makes him stop working when he can and makes sure Tim eats when he can’t. Actions speak louder than words for both of them, and they’re putting in the work to make it work. Tim’s never had a relationship like this, really. He’s pretty sure he’s never been happier.

11. Would you like to try any new fanfic genres or tropes this year?

i don't know about new tropes, but i do want to get that DickTim trope fill thing off the ground today...

he both liked & hated training with derek. he understood at his core why the alpha was as hard on the trio as he was, but isaac found the constant influence of negative reinforcement made it ever so difficult to appreciate the grueling process. not that he couldn't at all, especially considering he became a werewolf to gain the power to protect himself — & knew that this was the fastest way to get there. this time it was hand to hand combat, leaving him bloody & bruised, albeit not quite so long with the latter but still. so there he sits with erika before him, wiping away the blood from his face where derek had hit so hard it broke skin as isaac rubbed along the arm that was in the midst of healing from the bone's nasty bruise; still aching from the blow he'd blocked with it ( & he leans down some, making it easier for erika to reach given the height difference even while seated ).

thankfully there was no sting accompanying the pressure of the wet cloth to his skin, but her touch was gentle all the same ( a fact he appreciated in silence ). ❝ you know you don't have to do this, i can clean up on my own. ❞ its a bit quiet, clearly a little embarrassed at his current skill level. granted he was improving & lasting longer in the fight each time, but it seemed that as he did, derek only seemed to hit him harder, faster. ❝ —but thanks anyway. ❞ 

sure, he was much stronger now, able to hold his own well enough to survive where it counted. but despite having a pack to rely on he still felt terribly lonely in it. boyd made it clear he had little interest in befriending him, & derek obviously wasn't there to be a friend or confidant. erika, however, took the time to actually get to know him, even if they'd barely even known of each other before everything happened to bring them together. & while he couldn't imagine fully opening up to her, to let her in to the turmoil the world had & continued to put him through, she was still the only one he'd been able to relax around — to feel like he wasn't a burden or an inconvenience. & he wondered if she knew, if she was aware of how much their growing closeness seemed to put him at ease.

then he closes his eyes as she dabs along his brow, leaning into the touch ever so slightly without his awareness of the fact. it was less so about it being erika behind it, but rather the concept of a touch made through kindness was so unfamiliar to him.

My favourite scene

Anything with smileys! Coming up with scenarios where smileys appeared on things/people was so much fun, and I loved establishing this very unusual kind of secret love language between Will and Frank. Of course that means that the end with the smiley pendant proposal was the culmination of the whole thing - how could I have them have wedding rings given the significance of the smiley in their relationship? XD

Hardest scene to write

Action scenes are always tons of work, so that scene with the car chase and the warehouse firefight took more work than the rest of the story. With action scenes you always have to make sure every action/reaction is coherent and plausible, and you have to give enough details to make the reader understand without getting too descriptive because the last thing you want is for an action scene to get boring. So, yeah, they demand careful planning and execution, but I really like writing action scenes, which might explain why I tend to have them in my fics.

Favourite character to write in the fic

Okay... Sarah. I love her mischievousness and it was so much fun to write her special brand of support of Frank and Will's relationship in this. On top of that I hate women bashing in slash fics and I love to write awesome female characters into my fics, and she's just so perfect already based on canon. And her good-natured scheming is just too much fun to resist, not to mention that I loved keeping her close friendship with Frank because those two have such an adorable connection. Just because I decided that Frank's in love with Will, doesn't mean that it'll end his relationship with Sarah. It just changed it a little. And showing how comfortably and affectionately she handles that was part of what I enjoyed about writing her in this fic. Not to forget her slowly becoming an active member of the gang and growing close to Victoria XD

Favourite dynamic to write in the fic

Actually, it's not the dynamic between two people in the case of this fic, but the dynamics within the gang. I think it's also part of what makes the movies so enjoyable, and I loved including it here. How the individuals grow into a found family, how you get sibling relationships and parental/mentor figures, how they get comfortable with each other. And strange as it may be, but writing the growing (sibling) relationship between Sarah and Will was very intriguing, not to mention so much fun. Same for Victoria and Will, and Ivan and Frank, and of course Frank and Sarah, not to forget Marvin being his unsociable self with everybody. There's just something that's so enjoyable about all of them, about the teasing and the humour and noticeable connections they build.

Why I chose that title

Well, in this specific case it's kinda the running gag that Frank and Will are not good at talking but quite in sophisticated showing what they think/feel. So yeah, this title was just predestined to be chosen. An expression has rarely fit a fic better than that XD

A fun fact about the fic

This was my first long fic for RED, and I was worried at first that it would be out of character with all the post-canon timeline/events, that it would be too cheesy with all the feelings and the smileys. But guess what, it turned out to be the most popular RED fic I've written so far ^_^
