did a lil bit of research and WOOO BOY.
firefly loses herself as sam. she becomes this battle hungry, bloodthirsty animal. i want to reflect some of that into her as firefly, too. aside from her finding enjoyment in violence, she sees the beauty in gore and death. it does not bother her.

Yandere High Cloud Quintet x Male Reader Headcanons
Cw: Stalking, Manipulation, Abuse, Blood, Daggers, sadism, unhealthy obsession, 18+ shit/topics.
Characters: Jingliu, Jing yuan, Dan Feng/Heng, Blade/Yangxinq, Baiheng. (Separate and Together)
Tumblr media
———
Jingliu
Tumblr media
Jingliu is a very gentle lover, sure she’s a little (massively) possessive of you, but it’s fine. She teaches you swords fighting, she protects you from any threats, and she’s a joy to be around with the quintet.
You relationship started like any other cliche love story. She saw you walking around aimlessly and feel in love. To her, you were beautiful. In fact, she was convinced you were idrilia or at the least her descendent.
So, she watched (stalked) you. For a LONG time. Watching as you walk around without purpose, as others glare jealously at you, as others OGLE at you.
It disgusted her, to see others practically drool or even dare to face you. Her eyes twitching involuntarily, her pupils shrinking in size, looking like a rabid animal.
So, using her skills as a seasoned warrior, she leads those people into very dangerous territory. Watching as the abominations of the abundance tear them to shreds.
She then accidentally bumps into you, and that’s how your relationship started. You know, the normal cliche romance novel beginnings. (Call me crazy….but I don’t think she bumped into you accidentally..I think she did that shit on PURPOSE)
Jingliu only feels comfortable allowing the quintet to touch/look at you. To her, it’s another win over them, she got the best looking person the entire xianzhou will ever have.
But then, when we got Mara-struck. Things changed. HORRIFICALLY.
Mara-Struck jingliu doesn’t bother to hide her obsession for you. Before she escapes the luofu, she steals you away, even breaking your legs so you couldn’t resist.
But don’t worry, she didn’t break them to the point you won’t heal from it. You will, you HAVE to. Your beauty simply couldn’t allow such a disgusting thing to exist to your body.
She cuffs you and ties your legs together, making sure you couldn’t resist any of her loving gestures. A kiss here, a cut there, a slap here, a gut punch there.
Looking down at your bloody and bruised body below her, she can’t help but smile. Your tears and blood making your skin glow beautifully, making her weak in the knees.
She dips down and grabs your chin, harshly lifting your head up to face her as she leaned in to lick your tears.
Jingliu: Your so fucking beautiful~
Her voice trembles as she kisses you, forcing her tongue deep down your throat. Forming a small icy dagger to draw more blood from your angelic body.
Jingliu: Mmm~ All bloody and bruised for me—BY. ME. You have no idea what you do to me~~!
She moaned out, cutting open another wound into your body. Feeling euphoric as she hears you sing your beautiful screams of pain—Pleasure
Jingliu: You did this too me~ YOUR the reason I’m Mara-struck! It’s your fault for being so FUCKING gorgeous~! For that.. YOU. OWE ME YOUR LOVE. YOUR VERY EXISTENCE ITSELF~~!
10/10. A terrifying yandere.
Sadistic, Impulsive, Delusional, Possessive, Obsessive and Clingy Yandere.
Baiheng
Tumblr media
(I know she isn’t meant to have the horns but I couldn’t find a better picture)
Unlike jingliu (and pretty much everyone here) bai heng could never have the heart to physically harm you.
No no no, such an atrocious act like that never crossed her mind. How could she ever harm your delicate body?
Baiheng would much more comfortably gaslight—Manipulate—would much more comfortably win you over with her humor.. and alcohol.
She’s generally good at hiding her obsessive tendencies from you, besides being extremely clingy. If she doesn’t have a hand wrapped around you she feels like she’s loosing her mind.
Baiheng would take you on expeditions to other planets, protecting you, tasting different types of alcohol, showing you off.
She lets you do her hair and groom her tail, and touch her ears. She also keeps her tail wrapped around your waist.
Baiheng would manipulate you into believing and only being completely reliant on her and her only. Your family? Leave em’ they’re holding you back. They wouldn’t accept your relationship with her.
Your friends? She’s the only person you can trust, those others are trying to steal you away from HER! Why have such boring friends when you can hang with her and the quintet?
Your job? Quit. You don’t need money or anything like that. She has your back, she’ll simply TAKE money from others and support you like that.
Baiheng is an emotional and mental manipulator and isolationist with a ‘healthy’ dose of controlling—Type of yandere.
One thing your don’t have to worry about is physical abuse. She’d never harm your body in any way.. that and she fucking dies.
Also she’d probably give you a pet name that has something to do with alcohol or stars/trailblazing
Bai Heng: My dear~! I brought alcohol from another planet! Come taste it with me and the quintet!
Bai Heng: Come my star, your family isn’t important. IM the only person who’ll treat you right~ I have money, a high status, a ship that can travel to different planets~
Bai Heng’s tail hugs your waist and her hands cup your face, pepper kissing your face to no end, only finding your embarrassed face adorable and using it as motivation to continue.
2/10, probably the best yandere here to have obsess over you.
A Manipulative, Isolating, Possessive yandere.
Jing Yuan
Tumblr media
He is also a relatively relaxed yandere. He doesn’t even have to try hard to get others to leave you alone.
Similar to bai heng, jing yuan would never physically harm you. He’s much more comfortable manipulating you.
Also similar to BaiHeng, he’d isolate you and forge your mind to be utterly and even pathetically reliable on him.
Using his status as general of the luofu, he’d forge some fraudulent evidence on your friends and family, having them arrested and even humiliated in public.
Then he swoops in again, and lifts you and your family up. He offers you reassurance, he suddenly finds the TRUE criminals, he punishes those who verbally assaulted you and your people.
Jing yuan still wishes to have your family’s blessing in a normal, everyday person would. But he isn’t afraid of just taking you away from your family and friends.
He’s a blend of baiheng and jingliu, he has bai hengs manipulative tendencies and jingliu’s violent behavior on others to secure you for himself.
Jing yuan: Come with me Love. I wish to teach you swords technique.
Jing Yuan: My love, would you care for some chess lessons?
Jing Yuan: Seize these criminals! Being those who have harmed the L/n’s to me. I shall allow the l/n’s to punish them accordingly.
4/10–Similar to baiheng but a little more dangerous as he does have violent tendencies.
A Manipulative, Possessive, even Self-Indulgent Yandere.
Blade/Yingxing
Tumblr media
Yingxing is also surprisingly normal. He uses his charm and crafts things for you to win you over.
He gets Dan Feng to tell him how to crafts those arm braces the Vidyadhara use to feel others warmth from miles away, so he can craft one for you.
He crafts you multiple weapons you have interest in. A sword that can morph into a scythe, a spear that elongates, a chain that has blades (takeda from MKX and 1)
The only negative tendency I see him having is being overly possessive and clingy to you. So he’s controlling, but that’s it. Until he becomes blade.
BLADE—Remembers you, his mind is completely fulled with imagines of you. His obsession and yandere-ness upgrading 10 folds.
Blade takes you in broad daylight, he doesn’t bother any types of subtleties. Your his, you always were.
He’s not suave as yingxing is, he’s just blunt and clingy. A scary violent dog that WILL kill anyone who even looks at you besides the stellaron hunters.
A part of him is annoyed that you’re scared of him, stop shaking and just hug him back you ungrateful fuck!
But there’s a part of him that thrives on it, that breaths it in, swims in your fear. Knowing that your fear will control you, and using it to destroy any hope building in you.
And when the Mara acts up and Kafka isn’t there to stop it..you sir, are fucked. His darker and unhinged personality takes hold, purposefully instilling fear in you.
He throws you in the woods and chases you down like the weak little prey you are. Using the dark, foggy, creepy environment to make you more paranoid.
Sneaking up behind you and breathing on your neck just to disappear as you flick around to face him. Then when he catches you, he reassures you that he’ll protect you, before using his sword to make you bleed.
Unlike jingliu, blade is happier and more then willing to completely rip off your limbs to keep you in place, so don’t push him.
Also similar to her, he loves your tears and blood, enjoying how it makes your skin shine even more than usual.
Yingxing: Your not distracting me dear. Infact, I find myself working better when you’re on my lap.
Blade: Sit still. Or will slit open your throat.
10/10 a more dangerous jingliu.
Delusional, Overprotective, Sadistic, Clingy and Possessive Yandere.
Dan Heng/Feng
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dan Feng is a clingy yandere. Knowing that he’s eventually gonna be reincarnated, he wants you to worship him so you’d love him in his next life.
He isn’t afraid of just taking you in daylight. After all, who would challenge the High elder Vidyadhara?
He ALWAYS wraps his tail around your body. It normally stays on your waist. Thighs if he’s getting jealous or angry, ankles if he feels your challenging him.
Dan Feng keeps you beside him at all times, he the type to teach you history, magic, aeons. But he never teaches you how to fight, he wouldn’t want you to fight back against him.
Dan Feng is a self-indulgent and Possessive Yandere. But what about Dan Heng?
Dan Heng at first doesn’t want to approach you. He knows your Dan Feng lover but also knows how much he’s hurt you.
He tries and TRIES his damnedest to stay away from you. But it seemed Dan Feng love to you transferred to him.
Dan Heng, unlike Dan Feng is a much more softer yandere. He’s clingy and protective of you, allowing you personal space that Dan Feng would’ve never given you.
Dan Heng never transforms into his dragon form, as he knows you’ll get a panic attack if he did. He’s much more happier loving you as Dan Heng then Imbibitor Lunae.
Dan Feng obsession over you also transferred to Dan Heng, so in case that obsession takes over him, he teaches you how to fight, how to exploit his weaknesses.
Dan Feng: Cease your struggles. It’s pointless to fight back.
Dan Feng: Correct~ see how much more knowledgeable you get when you’re around me?
Dan Heng: Forgive me… I don’t wish to make you uncomfortable.
Dan Heng: I am not Dan Feng. I will not harm you or push your boundaries.
Dan Feng: 5/10–Self Indulgent and Possessive yandere
Dan Heng: 3/10–Possessive and Protective yandere.
The Quintet
Tumblr media
Your fucked. There’s just other no way to put it, your fucked.
At first they find it hard to share you, they want you all to themselves, it’s too damn suffocating to share you with four other people.
So, they take turns. Jingliu gets Monday’s, Yingxing gets Tuesday’s, Dan Feng gets Wednesday’s, Jing Yuan gets Thursdays, and Bai Heng gets you Friday.
They all share you on the weekends. Taking you on dates privately from the citizens of the luofu.
Escaping them is an absolutely laughable concept. It’s not possible to get away from them, so you might as well learn how to live with them.
The five of them would try to manipulate you into hating the others and liking them more. But they wouldn’t use the others insecurities or share their secrets. Mearly telling you why THEY’RE better.
Speaking of, what are dates like with them? Jingliu’s dates are a murder spree, she takes you to a territory full of the abundance creatures and makes you watch as she kills them all. In her mind, this shows you how well she can protect you.
BaiHeng is more traditional, taking you on a picnic in a nearby planet. Yangxinq would take you on scenic walks dates.
Jing yuan dates are lessons in fighting and chess. Dan Feng’s dates are library ones.
Jingliu and Dan Feng don’t care about your personal space. It’s there’s space too. The other three would try to pry them off of you but be unsuccessful.
You have accessories of them on your body. A glove from Yangxinq, a necklace from Jingliu, a bracelet from bai heng, a weapon from Jing yuan, an arm brace from Dan Feng.
When bai heng dies and jingliu gets Mara-struck shit hits the fan. Jingliu is much more obsessive with you, trying to repeatedly steal you away from Jing yuan who is protecting you from her.
Dan Feng tries to input a forbidden protective barrier on you that causes him to get outcasted and furthers his desire to bring back Bai Heng.
Yangxing and jing yuan gets more protective and possessive over you, with jing yuan’s protectiveness being amplified once yangxing dies and Dan Feng is banished.
Jing yuan isolated you completely from anyone and everything besides him. He can’t take anymore of him friends dying or leaving.
He cries into your chest, hugging you deathly while promising to protect you and degrading himself for not doing more to save his old friends.
Jingliu would try to find you, but eventually she’d leave the luofu, believing jing yuan was hiding you somewhere in the cosmos.
Years pass and the only person you ever need and ever interact with is jing yuan. He’s in a much more better mental state but still extremely overprotective and isolating you.
Blade try’s to find you but falls, Dan Heng represses his obsession of you. No one finds you, and that’s good, no one can take you away nothing can hurt you.
Until SHE finds you. Jingliu comes back and she somehow finds you. Of course he hid you here. Right under where the high cloud quintet would hang out.
She doesn’t steal you immediately. No no no, she needs to make sure it’s you and that jing yuan hasn’t corrupted you in any way.
She gets angry when you mistake her for Jing yuan, so, she decides to cleanse you of him. She steals you away and leaves the luofu and the xianzhou entirely. She doesn’t need that trauma machine of a ship anymore.
She has you, that’s all she needs, all she WANTS.
———-
God fucking damn I’m never doing this again ;-; (maybe)

Sometimes, when I wanna make myself sad, I think about the High Cloud Quintet and especially about how Jing Yuan must've felt when it suddenly shattered around him
Like, Baiheng dying was already bad enough. But then Dan Feng and Yingxing ignored all possible taboos and consequences of breaking those taboos to bring her back, which ended in disaster. This made Jingliu put what came out of this down, which drove her to be struck by mara and she slaughtered Cloud Knights by the dozens.
And completely powerless to stop them Jing Yuan was forced to sentence Dan Feng, put down Jingliu even if it didn't stick, clean up the Baiheng mess while Yingxing disappeared with whatever was left of Shuhu corrupting him into the exact thing Lan is hunting. (I can't imagine he didn't eventually piece together what happened between Yingxing and Jingliu, he's smart enough to get the big picture through context clues). And his association with HCQ probably didn't do his reputation any favours either...
It's like they all simply forgot he existed in their grief and rage. They all focused on the one thing that went wrong, obsessed over it until shit really hit the fan, and didn't realize that there was still someone, their youngest, who needed them. That they, in this instance, needed each other as well. The whole thing may have gone down in history as Dan Feng's fault but honestly, it's those three clinging to the past while Jing Yuan was running around trying to keep the Luofu, no pun intended, on course
So he probably didn't even get the time to grieve properly before his friends fucked shit even more up while he was distracted
And now, the only one who doesn't hold a grudge, has been doing a job he doesn't like for literal centuries, has very few genuine relationships, shows little of his actual feelings, and they somehow still manage to wage their interpersonal wars on his back with no regard for how it affects him
Jingliu is like "okay imma settle shit for me now and then you can punish me too" while Dan Heng is just kinda there, trying to live his life (which he has a chance to do cuz Jing Yuan gave him that opportunity), and Blade is Blade.
Additionally, the Stellaron crisis happens and drags half his last back to the Luofu, Bailu's existence serves as a reminder for what he lost and how it all spiraled out of control...not to mention that the whole Alliance seems out to blame him for everything that goes wrong on the Luofu...
And don't misconstrue this as me disliking the other members of the HCQ, far from it, the tragedy of the whole situation is delicious to me and I don't blame them for what happened, even if it sounds like it.
I just have a lot of feelings about A-Yuan, alright, and most of them are very sad because he's very sad too.

Hi!! I'm new to tumblr and English is not my native language, so please excuse any mistakes!
First off, I really enjoy your blog! Thank you for your content, your thoughts, and your au!! I especially like the omegaverse au!
Second off, I have angst and fluff thoughts about alpha!Jingliu. Imagine if you became Jingliu's omega before she was mara-struck? She ran away from Lofu, leaving you alone for years. She was afraid she would hurt you or even worse. It was hard for you without her, but you never let another alpha touch you, even in heat. You refused to believe that Jingliu was gone and would never come back.
And now, after all these years, Jingliu finds Ruan Mei, who can heal her or at least ease her symptoms. Now Jingliu can finally return to you.
When Jingliu returns to Lofu, she no longer expects to find you after all this years, but she smells a familiar scent and goes to you. She witnesses you refusing other alphas, saying that you belong to only one alpha. She saves you and finally a happy reunion happens!!
Sorry if you have already written your thoughts about this👉👈
-🌻
CW: Omegaverse, breeding
Aaaaaaaaa such a cute, wholesome Drabble about Alpha! Jingliu returning to her mate after several years 🥺
I imagine that throughout all those years of staying loyal to Jingliu and refusing any alpha’s advances, your heats must’ve been pretty painful to go through on your own. But nevertheless, you wanted to stay loyal to Jingliu and managed to tough it out until she came back. I’m sure the first touch from Jingliu felt like heaven to a touch starved omega like you. Even her scent made your knees tremble with need as Jingliu scooped you up in her arms and ravaged you right there at the entrance of your home. (She just couldn’t wait for the bedroom)
After several years of neglecting your needs, Jingliu’s embrace made the omega inside of you latch onto her like a leech. You two couldn’t keep your hands off of each other, staying in the most intimate positions as possible while Jingliu made up for all those years of not being with you. You two go at it like animals for the next several hours, almost an entire day of just raw sex and primal desire, the years of lust that has built up just spilling over like a flood.
You both pass out from the abundance of pleasure and love, but then wake up again to continue. It has been too long since you’ve both been mated, and Jingliu shows her apologies by stuffing you full with her cum over and over again until she’s sure you’re pregnant. It’s the least she could do after neglecting you for so long 🥺

Hope you have a wonderful day and remember to take breaks every now and then! 😴
Unto the request, can I please request yandere high cloud quintet (Jingliu, Jing Yuan,Blade and Imbibitor Lunae) finding out that Baiheng had a descendant before she perished, that descended being the reader who bears a striking resemblance to her. I can just see the 4 of them being obsessed and overprotective of the reader.
-I just recently watched the cutscene for Jingliu’s companion quest and its so top tier
3 hours is plenty of sleep, sometimes I even get 4🥴
And I knoooow, that cutscene was truly top tier😆
Hope you'll enjoy😁
Trigger Warning: Yandere, Obsessive behaviour, Possessive behaviour, Kidnapping
Jingliu: Baiheng was her biggest regret, and now that she sees you who not only is her descendant but also look just like her, how could she help herself but to feel protective against you, and not only that but to possess you as well.
Jingliu's Mara-Struck mind makes her even more possessive over you, she can't help but fall into instincts around you even with her high resistance against the mara. She knows it's wrong, horrible of her even, but she has to admit, you look so pretty when you cry for her.
"Don't move, don't make me repeat myself... Baiheng would be disgusted with what I'm doing to you, but I can't find myself to care right now, you're mine and you will need to accept this"
Jing Yuan: He knows about you, he always had known about you as well, you are his secret, something he wouldn't even share with the rest of High-Cloud Quintet, you look so much like Baiheng that it's ridiculous. He has known you for so long that he doesn't even see Baiheng when he looks at you, he instead thinks Baiheng looks like you instead.
Jing Yuan hides you away from the world, what happened to Baiheng will not happen to you as well, you are locked away at his home, he treats you like you're above him, probably due to his guilt about Baiheng, he will guard you, you are safe with him and nothing will ever befall you, least of all death.
"It's almost uncanny how much you look like her... *sigh* Anyways, what do you want for dinner today, I'm cooking"
Blade: He doesn't see you as a descendant, no he thinks you are Baiheng, nothing can convince him otherwise. He never adresses you by your name, he always calls you Baiheng cus that's who you are, he thinks you have just lost your memories but that's okay, he will always be around to remind you of who you are.
Blade calls you that so many times that you may believe him yourself, I mean how can you know about what you have forgotten, and reincarnation is a thing that happens so maybe you really are Baiheng. Blade doesn't care what you think you are, all that is important is that Baiheng is back and you are all his.
"I am so sorry Baiheng for the past... but you are here now... yo-you make me feel whole and alive again, never leave my side ever again, okay"
Imbibitor Lunae: When Dan Heng is like this he starts to remember his past life a bit more clearly but there is one thing he can remember a bit clearer then others, he can remember Baiheng's face, and in turn he recognizes your face as soon as he sees you. Imbibitor Lunae knows that this isn't Baiheng but he still went to talk with you, you looked just like her, he couldn't help himself.
Imbibitor Lunae finds you to be a joy to talk to, not only that but he finds you beautiful as well, a look he has only caught in his dreams now stood before him, he can't help but fall, and he falls deep and hard... he wonders if he can convince you to join the express, otherwise he might need to use... unpleasant ways to get you onboard.
"You look heavenly, like a deity... isn't the view from the express lovely, I hope you'll get used to it, you will be seeing it a lot in the future"

have you guys ever thought abt how long vidyadhara hatching rebirths take? if you check some of the eggs at scalegorge, one is a vidyadhara that is still regenerating after being killed in the sedition like 700 years ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and, as far as we know, there was no other incarnation between dan feng and dan heng, so dan heng was probably in that egg for several centuries too. they kept the fucking egg in jail for 600 years, waited for it to hatch, and immediately chained up the dude who hatched from it and left him in a dark room for who knows how long.
Tumblr media
And pierced his fucking ears at some point.
Tumblr media
anyways some vidyadhara definitely take way less time to respawn, there’s that one guy Cong that’s undergone hatching rebirth like 4 times and fallen in love with the same xianzhou woman every time
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and only 20% of xianzhou natives reach over 800 years old without becoming mara in struck, so she cant be THAT old
Tumblr media
maybe it depends on the injury that ended their life? if he just died naturally he got to respawn quick, but the vidyadhara that got obliterated by jingliu in the sedition is still working on regenerating because that was scary.
oh hm i dont like the implications that has for the end of dan feng’s life

My attempt at a rough timeline for the high cloud quintet (I won't include actual Amber Era years because that whole system is a mess. I'm just going to talk about events relative to each other)
First off, roughly 800 years before the main story of Honkai: Star Rail begins, Foxian cloud knight and Nameless Baiheng is sent as part of a delegation from the Xianzhou Yaoqing for the Xianzhou Zhuming. Given that the average Foxian lifespan is 300 years, and she still looks relatively young shortly before her death roughly 100 years later, I'd say she's around 100 years old at this point in the story. When the delegation goes to meet general Huiayan, they also meet one of his apprentices: a short-life human by the name of Yingxing, who at the time was probably a teenager, similar in maturity to Yanqing and Yunli. Baiheng learns that he is perhaps the only survivor of a world destroyed by the borisin, and that he made it to the Xianzhou in hopes of getting revenge. However, he's unsure if he'll actually be able to make any kind of difference due to his short lifespan.
Around this time, Jingliu also takes on Jing Yuan as an apprentice. Although she appears young, it's actually been centuries since her childhood and the destruction of the Xianzhou Cangheng. In fact, she's already old enough to be at risk for becoming mara-struck, but her body and mind are in a healthy state, likely tempered by her devotion to the way of the sword. Jing Yuan, meanwhile, is still a child, as seen in his animated short where he's very young when Jingliu starts training him. He comes from an unremarkable realm-keeping commission family, but is much more fascinated with the cloud knights.
No more than ten years later, Yingxing transfers the the Xianzhou Luofu for unknown reasons. A few years after that, the Luofu holds a Wardance, at the climax of which a new sword champion will be crowned. For the sword champion's prize, Yingxing forges a weapon called the shard sword, which is made of an incredibly dense metal and takes unrivalled skill to wield. Meanwhile, a warrior from Belobog named Igor Haft also participates in the Wardance and befriends Jing Yuan, who is now a lieutenant of the cloud knights. Unfortunately, he's unable to do anything for Belobog in his currrent position, and has to say goodbye to Igor as he leaves empty-handed to go back and defend his home.
Jingliu, of course, wins the Wardance, and is able to wield the shard sword in battle. Around this time, Yingxing and Jing Yuan become rivals, then friends, with the young lieutenant taking a liking to a different weapon Yingxing forged- the devastator glaive, which incorporates fragments of the Hunt's lux arrow. As for Baiheng's weapon, a recurve bow which could shoot multiple arrows at a time, it's unclear when exactly it was forged. I suspect it was before the Wardance, since Yingxing and Baiheng were already friends, so he probably made it for her once he was skilled enough.
You'll notice I haven't mentioned Dan Feng at all. That's because I'm having the same problem as with any other discussion related to him- although the game will gladly tell you about the sinner who betrayed his entire homeland, it's almost impossible to learn about the actual person. As for his age, that's also difficult- Vidyadhara have individual lifespans of seven centuries, but don't seem to age age physically once they reach adulthood. The fact that he's so closed off doesn't help, since he pretty much acts like an adult regardless of his actual age. He could be anywhere between 200 and 500 years old at this point. So everything I'm about to say about him is entirely conjecture- First, the only thing we know about how he met any of the others is that he chose to become Jingliu's sparring partner after seeing her in action. Potentially during the Wardance, but she was a well-renowned swordmaster even before that, so it could have been much earlier. We know that Yingxing made cloudpiercer for him specifically, but was it a gift or a commission? Were they already friends at that point? And again, when? I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow met Yingxing first, before the others, since he was the only person who Dan Feng seemed to actually open up to, but I have no proof because the game really just doesn't want to tell us about him.
Anyways, after the high-cloud quintet was formed, they quickly made a name for themselves, taking down a significant number of widely feared abominations. During this time, it's unclear how close they actually were- evident in how little Jing Yuan and especially Jingliu seem to know about Dan Feng as a person 700 years later, and the fact that they fell apart so badly after Baiheng's death.
One thing I've never seen mentioned is a brief comment in Jingliu's Blade's companion quest where it's revealed that Yingxing spoke pretty casually about living to 100 years old, something that modern-day humans often don't do. This makes a lot of sense since the Xianzhou is a very advanced civilisation. So even though he was in good enough physical condition to fight an emanator and didn't appear that old physically, he was likely over a century by the time shit happened.
Then, Shuhu appeared. It's still not entirely clear why. There are two most likely explanations. One: it was revived by followers of Abundance hiding on the Luofu, such as the disciples of Sanctus Medicus. Two: the "maddened, frenzied dragon" sealed in the roots of the Arbor by the Luofu's first high elder was Shuhu, and it either broke free of the seal, or someone else broke out, again, most likely the followers of the Abundance. Or Dan Feng, perhaps? We still don't know enough about his intentions to rule out the possibility. I won't go in depth on the Sedition, since this is a post collating information rather than theorising, but just know that this is when it happens.
General Teng Xiao was present in the battle against Shuhu, according to Xueyi's character stories, but Jing Yuan's first problem as general was dealing with the aftermath of Dan Feng's actions. Therefore, it's pretty likely that Teng Xiao died in that battle. Following the sedition, Dan Feng and Jingliu were detained. It's less clear what happened to Yingxing- if he was also detained in the Shackling Prison, he wouldn't have been able to escape, so it seems more likely that he escaped the Luofu in the chaos following the sedition.
Jingliu, now mara struck, escaped the shackling prison and killed all of the cloud knights who were sent after her. Jing Yuan then went after her himself, finally surpassing his master. However, she somehow survived and went missing. Dan Feng, meanwhile, was initially sentenced to death, but the sentence was commuted to molting rebirth and banishment, supposedly in light of past merit, but more likely because the Xianzhou couldn't afford to give up that kind of power. As for his execution, it might have been delayed quite a long time due to Political Nonsense.
An unclear amount of time later, probably several centuries, Jingliu as able to make a deal which restored her lucidity, although the integrity of her sanity remains to be seen. She teamed up with Luocha, intending to destroy Yaoshi once and for all. Around this time, she also discovered Yingxing, wandering alone on some abandoned planet. She decided to "teach" him swordplay by killing him thousands of times over, although according to Blade's character stories, Yingxing only died once- after Jingliu killed him, she left Blade in his place, and effectively brainwashed him into seeking revenge on Dan Feng's reincarnation.
Speaking of which: centuries after the sedition, Dan Feng was reborn as Dan Heng, still detained in the shackling prison. As expected, many were reluctant to follow through on the "banishment" part of his sentence. Still, Jing Yuan was intent on giving his old friend a second chance, as well as taking such a powerful bargaining chip away from his political opponents on the Luofu, so after multiple decades, and with help from the Yaoqing's high elder, he was able to get Dan Heng exiled.
Still, those decades had left their mark on Dan Heng, to the point where he outright rejected his past, and therefore part of himself, so that he wouldn't be seen as the monster he'd been taught about. It's probably because of this denial that he retained almost none of his past life's memories- as he wondered the universe, he was found by Blade over and over again, but didn't recognise the remains of his old friend, instead assuming that Blade was one of Dan Feng's enemies.
Later, Blade was found and enlisted by the Stellaron Hunters, joining voluntarily on the condition that he would be able to truly die at the script's curtain call. At the same time, Dan Heng was picked up by the astral express, and although he intended to disembark as soon as possible, he found himself unable to resist the genuine concern and hospitality of the crew members, eventually becoming one of the Nameless.
And I believes that's it- the entire timeline of the high-cloud quintet, excluding theories and unconfirmed information, prior to the beginning of the main story. It really didn't feel that big inside my head, but looking at how much I've managed it write, it makes a lot of sense as to why so many people misunderstand these characters and the lore behind them.

𝐹𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝑀𝑒𝑒𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 + 𝒞𝑜𝓃𝒻𝑒𝓈𝓈𝒾𝑜𝓃𝓈
Tumblr media
Characters: Blade, Kafka, Aventurine, Jingliu & Jing Yuan
Warnings: Spoilers for Luofu Questline/Blade lore, Hcs are really short, Kafkas is a drabble
Tumblr media
- You both most likely would have met when Blade was alive on the Luofu
- A friend of either Jingliu or (I forget the name but the dead one)
- Of course you knew his inner circle of friends and what had happened with them, causing one death, one reincarnation & 2 mara-struck (including him)
- Though, you did not see blade again until he came back while the Astral Express were visiting
- There, he formally invited you to join him among the Stellaron Hunters, aswell as introduce you to the other hunters
- When you asked him if his mara caused him trouble he said that Kafka helps him out often
- You confessed first
- Kafka was sick of your obvious like to eachother so she “encouraged” you to
- That, or you just yelled how much you loved him before running away before he could answer…
Tumblr media
You and Kafka were childhood friends, met at around 5-7 years old. Both of your parents knew each other so you hung out quite often, and so you followed her through everything. When she joined the Stellaron Hunters you received an invite to join as well, if you didn’t Kafka would still keep you with her at all times.
She confessed first too - underneath a sakura tree. Prepared chocolate, flowers, plushies, anything to win you over.
Tumblr media
- In the casino, of course
- Most likely you were a poor soul that the struck big losses within the IPC - debts stacking up too far to count
- Just as you got away, Aventurine happened to be your gambling partner, such a dear he is listing out everything while playing
- How he found you, your depts owed, everything
- But he bets something, if you win all of your debts are gone - if he wins, he takes you out for dinner before increasing your debt even more
- But alas, luck was on his side-he won but dropped the charges anyway for a simple peck on the cheek, with the dinner date too
- After that he paid your charges and tries to confess to you
- He would have asked you out as a gamble
- A lucky man he was - which the gamble ended up paying off
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- You would know either of them from their Quintet group
- Following them around like a shadow, hiding your feelings for the sake of friendship
- You met them either as a fan of the quintet or as childhood friends
Tumblr media
- In Jingliu’s case she most likely confessed right after she was mara struck
- In her eyes she loved you-she wanted to let you know before she lost complete control of the mara
- Even if you saw her as she return-who knows if she’d let you follow her now that the maras stricken?
- That or-you told her first way before she was mara stricken
- Although when she became struck with mara-she ended things…
Tumblr media
- For Jing Yuan, he would confess sometime as hes the general
- After the events of the quintet disbanding, everything seems peaceful and Jing Yuan is finally ready to settle down
- After hours he stopped by your place, invited you to dinner and asked the question
- And to this day you’re by his side
- After he became general he hired you as an assistant, Jing Yuan insisted that the position was necessary but Fu Xuan, Yanqing and everyone else knew it was just because he wanted you

I´m the latest anon, with Blade please.
❀ ˎˊ- prompts: When they wake up in the middle of the night, and you aren't by their side. + "Please, stay. Just… stay." ❀ ˎˊ- 1k followers event ❀ ˎˊ- character: blade ❀ ˎˊ- warnings: angst ofc :(( but primarily hurt/comfort, implied violence, mentions of death (its blade whatd u expect), nightmares, ends in happy ❀ ˎˊ- a/n: i might change up the wording of the phrase bc blade doesn't strike me as the person to actually say this out loud, but it'll be in thoughts !!! also the ending is eating at me but ITS OKAY I DID IT SO YIPPEEE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's well past midnight when Blade is ripped from his sleep.
His chest heaves with shuddered breaths, his eyes blown wide with something akin to fear. His eyes crinkle as he silently groans in frustration, taking in deep breaths to steady himself. But it doesn't work.
Gingerly running his fingers over his neck, he recounts the nightmare. The sharp chill of ice still lingers where he'd been struck by his former comrade, phantom pains where her blade had slashed him. Blade had never feared death before - on the contrary, he'd always welcomed it. But it was different with her. With Jingliu, he…
Her blood-red eyes, as cold as a corpse and with the liveliness of one as well, seared into his memory like an iron stamp.
Blade sighed to himself, blinking up towards the ceiling. At this rate, he'd barely get any sleep at all. Even worse, it would cause his mara to act up once again.
Raising his hand, Blade clicked his tongue when he saw it shake, the tiniest tremor running through it.
He hated this. He hated the trembling of his fingers. He hated the rapid thud of his heart, which still hadn't stopped. He hated how even a distant memory of that woman could make him so weak, so… afraid.
Closing his eyes, he rolled over, reaching over to your side of the bed. Whenever the nightmares came about, you were his anchor. If in the morning, you woke up, and Blade was clinging to your side, head buried into your neck, you would know what had transpired that night.
Only you weren't there tonight.
His hands close around empty sheets, his arm wrapping around a pillow rather than your body. Instantly, Blade's eyes shot open. He sat up, a sliver of shock slipping onto his face as he carefully observed the area.
Realistically, he knew that you had gotten up out of your own accord. There were no signs of a struggle, and no one would be idiotic enough to steal you right from Blade's arm, especially in the midst of the Stellaron Hunters' base. If you had been kidnapped, he would know.
But that didn't stop the anxiety that gnawed at his heart. If you weren't here, then where would you be?
His question was soon answered, though, when a small glimmer of light caught his eye. The door leading out of your shared room was outlined in a soft glow, indicating a person on the other side.
Blade let out a sigh, almost laughing at his own foolishness.
Slowly, he rises from the covers, letting the blankets drop off his body. He rolls back the soreness in his body from yesterday's mission, massaging his shoulder as he heads off to the kitchen.
The bright lights leave dark spots in his vision, but he can still see the general shape of your body as you fill a cup of water. He rubbed at his eyes as he came up behind you, still drowsy with sleep.
Surprised, you turned at the sound of his footsteps, a cup of water held in your hands. "Blade? Sorry, did I wake you?"
Blade shook his head, wrapping his arms around you and nuzzling into your shoulder. He didn't say anything - he rarely needs to. You can hear the words he wants to say in his actions, in the way he pulls you tightly against him and refuses to let go.
Please, just… stay.
You hum knowingly as you feel him breathe into your skin, setting down your cup and reaching up to pet his head. His hair is soft against your fingers as he leans into you, closing his eyes as he immersed himself in you.
"Again?" you ask gently. Blade nods, propping his chin onto your shoulder. You leaned your head onto his, softly rubbing at his scalp with your fingers as the man hums in content. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you."
Blade shook his head. "It's fine. You're here now."
"I'm here," you agreed, turning in his embrace. You held his face in your hands, kissing at his face where tears would've been, had he ever cried. Blade let a smile slip onto his face for a moment, before kissing you on the forehead.
"Why did you leave?" he asks softly, but he doesn't really expect you to answer. You both know that he's aware of the reason, it being quite obvious in your hands.
"I was just getting a little water," you reply anyway. "I'll be back in bed in a few, so wait for me, okay?"
"I can wait here," Blade assures. "Do what you need to now. When we return, I won't be letting you go so easily."
You laugh at his statement, leaning against him with a crinkle in your eyes. "Alright, whatever you say, mister."
And Blade smiles back at you, only happy to have you back in his arms.

Since we currently don't know much about Yaoshi and Luocha's dynamic (AS OF THE FINAL WEEK OF 2.4) other then he hates them and is actively trying to kill them, I like to imagine the hilarious scenario that Yaoshi is like a weird helicopter mom.
Luocha's like "yeah Yaoshi's immortality is awful and evil we gotta kill them" and then Yaoshi is like "HELLO MY HUMAN BOY, I HEARD YOU MADE A FRIEND, CAN I MEET THEM? :D"
Luocha and Jingliu in the Shackling Prison and the mara-struck in the cells near them are like "Hey dude Yaoshi says to be back by curfew" and Luocha and Jingliu share a Look (blindfold on, it's funnier).
The coffin is there to be a babysitter.
There's literally no canon precedence for this I just use it cope with having no Luocha lore because it's funny.

Yandere Alphabet — Feixiao, Jingliu, Luocha, Dr. Ratio
Tumblr media
Feixiao:
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
Feixiao’s love is touchy and loud. Her hands are ALWAYS on you, doesn’t matter where, her hands caress or hold you, they’re ALWAYS on your body.
She isn’t afraid to make a public statement that your hers, just to let everyone know your off limits. Whenever someone approaches you, she’s always there, not hiding her possessive glare and loudly proclaiming you as her LOVER.
She’s clingy, possessive, and utterly shameless of her obsession love for you.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
She wouldn’t dream of being messy with you… unless it’s in bed— She would HATE the thought of a bruise appearing on your body, no no no, she wouldn’t dream of that. Instead she’s VERY… VERY… VERY protective of you.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Oh she would never. Mocking you never even crossed her mind. Unless you count her DAILY and repeatedly—practically reciting her love and obsession of you like a prayer as mocking. Besides that, she’s definitely the ‘nicest’ of yandere’s.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
Controlling you to fit her desires. She’d control your clothing, what you eat, when you sleep, how you fight, WHAT you fight with. She knows what’s best for you, so just SHUT UP and let her make you even MORE perfect.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
Very vulnerable, she doesn’t want to hide a thing from you. She’s so vulnerable with you it makes you forget that she practically kidnapped you and was (basically) controlling your life.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
She’s both amused and saddened. Amused that you think you could EVER escape her, but saddened that you still WANT to escape, even after she gave you the fucking world. She’ll be sure to.. teach you a lesson you won’t forget.
Tumblr media
Jingliu:
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
Her love is bipolar. Normal jingliu is gentle and loving, however, Mara-struck jingliu’s love is sadistic and intense.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Normally, she isn’t at all messy with you. Mara-Jingliu couldn’t care less how messy things get. As long as you be a good little lover boy and stay beside her, she’ll keep things clean.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Yes. She would most certainly mock you. She’d mock you by reminding you how bland your life was before she came into it, she’ll mock you for begging her to release you, she’ll mock you for for wanting to go back to your ‘family’. What a dumb silly little boy, you’re already with HER. You don’t need anyone or anything else.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
Very similar to feixiao. Yes, she’ll absolutely do things against your will. Unlike feixiao, she wouldn’t be sneaky about it, she’ll just do it if you’re watching or clinging onto her to stop. After all; what will do you have compared to her obsession love?
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
Not immediately. It’s inevitable that she’ll become VERY vulnerable with you. She’s also extremely vulnerable with you once she’s out of her Mara-Struck phase, throwing away all and any defenses she has and clinging onto you, spouting out apologies and tears then some more.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
She’s enraged. You would DARE commit such crimes against her? You’re THAT fucking desperate to have her as an enemy? In this enraged state, she goes to slice and cut you piece by piece. Yelling in rage as how ungrateful you are, all while she tries and tries, yet all you do is take and take. Like a spoiled little brat. Once she knocks you out, she drags you off somewhere private. You need a harsh punishment for committing such acts against her.
Tumblr media
Luocha:
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
Luocha is the most normal and tamed yandere. His love is similar to another’s love to their lover but more intense and calculated.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Luocha isn’t messy, he makes sure everything he does with you is picture perfect and worthy of your sight and mind.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Nope. Zero. Nada. And No. there isn’t a hint of cruelty with him when it comes to you. He keeps his obsession of you very well hidden and controlled.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
Nope.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
He only keeps a quarter of his heart open with you. He still has some secrets he wants to keep away from you, only to keep you safe of course.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
He’s disappointed and confused. Why are you fighting back? Was it a lack of affection on his side or was someone or something manipulating you? He’ll be sure to explore both of these theories once he safely knocks you out and cares for you.
Tumblr media
Dr. Ratio
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
His love is calculated and measured, his obsession with you always hidden, only showing the necessary amounts of love to you and to other to make it clear that you were his.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
He’s not messy at all. The exact same as luocha.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Not intentionally. He’ll mock you as a force of habit but then he’ll just play it off as a joke, sacrificing his pride for a minute of embarrassment and a lifetime of your obedience and love.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
No. He knows that if he does that, it’ll spark a small unease within you that’ll eventually lead you to becoming rebellious. He won’t take such unnecessary risks.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
He’s embarrassingly vulnerable with you (his words) it’s illogical to hide things from his lover after all. Especially since he has nothing to hide from you.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
Annoyed and disturbed. He’s annoyed that all his calculated actions fell apart and disturbed that your fighting back against him. Why’re you even doing such a stupid act? The only logical explanation was that someone was trying to take you from him. He’ll be sure to handle them once he deals with you.

blade/yingxing x reader scenario:
kurim: blade’s past name was yingxing, supposedly
(blade sees your smile, beautiful and loving and inviting as he remembers you to be — when he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath and pretends he can have this, at the very least. you were so lovely, so very lovely, and the man he once was - yingxing - had truly loved you in a way he could not love anyone else)
you and yingxing were lovers, decades ago when he was still part of Xianzhou and you a person he fell in love with, yingxing liked building you trinkets and taking you to eat during the weekends and seeing your smile and he would throw hands with jing yuan because he always teased him and called him a love sick puppy
you and yingxing were some of the short-lived species in Xianzhou, you were content in XXXX area and yingxing was a genius amongst genius in crafting, building and creating tools, machinery, weapons and works of arts.
you and yingxing had your whole life planned out, it was not hard to when there was so much to do and so little time to do it, but you two are determined to make your lives count despite the looming threat of the abundance hanging over their head and the wars Xianzhou has to partake in and how nothing is determined in life, but you two love each other, but then this happens, but then that happens, but but butbutbutbut—
yingxing becomes mara-struck.
yingxing kills you in his first mara-struck rampage/haze.
yingxing will forever remember it - your blood is very warm and wet, even as he drops to his knees and tries tries tries but there’s nothing he can do because you’re already dead — he might have screamed, howled until his throat burst and his lungs collapsed and mended themselves, he might’ve had fought against jingliu too as well, he doesn’t quite know. he cannot remember anything apart from a red haze, doesn’t remember if you had screamed or tried to fight back or tried running away, but one look at you shows just how horrible a death you had experienced in your last moments. blade will have forever etched the image of your mangled body in his memory, because of course yingxing will have.
this is the first step towards the death of yingxing’s ego, and what will eventually create blade, an abomination who seeks for death and yet is denied time and time again, who is only left with vengeance and violence as a driving force for moving and breathing and fighting because he has nothing else
yingxing was a man who committed many great mistakes and paid for it with everything in his life, including the one he loved
blade is the remains of that man’s ego, the hatred and grief and anger and obsession and destruction and love, a monster given eternal life and reduced to a mad dog of destiny’s slave, all for the sake of reaching paradise
blade lives for the sake of dying — he lives for death, for vengeance, for the possibility of paradise
(blade sees your smile, beautiful and loving and inviting as he remembers you to be — you smile and smile and smile, perhaps a little sad but as lovely as he remembers and he wants to reach out for you with his bloodied hands, but you are unreachable, a ghost of his past, the victim of his sins, and he can do nothing but watch you stand on the other side of the river of stars. blade thinks that you’re as lovely as yingxing remembers you to be, waving at him, smiling at him, always smiling at him)
elio promises an ending to his wretched existence.
blade will stop at absolutely nothing to reach his desired paradise.
(you smile at him, and blade thinks that you still look so very lovely, decades after your death)
i’m sorry, i’m sorry, forgive me, forgive me, it was all my fault, if only i hadn’t—
(you only smile, and then blade opens his eyes to find his mangled body healing and mending and stitching together again)

I feel like Jingliu in the android AU has like a virus on her code that puts her out of commission. Like how's she's Mara struck, she's seen as a very dangerous Android that is to be reported so that the government can decommission, AKA destroy, her for safety since the virus let her break out of her code and become sentient which led her to killing a lot of people out of self defense. She's definitely a military grade android so she is especially dangerous. But engineer/mechanic reader finds her buried in a junk yard (she was looking for parts and stuff) and took her back to her shop to repair her. It could be where jingliu is the first robot that ended up staying in her shop
Yoooo this is such a cool idea for Android! Jingliu :0
It fits so well with her canon character too! I imagine that Android! Jingliu is a current unauthorized threat roaming the city and the police is working very hard on trying to track her down. Usually all Androids have a tracking device implemented in their systems so it’s easy to see where they’re going, but perhaps the virus corrupted the device/Jingliu went against her own code and ripped it out herself 😨
Now that there was a rogue, military-grade Android on the loose, it’s plastered all over the news and many Androids and their owners are forced to stay alert. Of course, with a stroke of unfortunate luck, the Engineer ends up encountering Android! Jingliu resting in some junkyard, and she would’ve been skewered to pieces if not for Jingliu currently recharging herself near an outlet…
Because she is held back by a dead battery, the Engineer is able to get closer to her and examine this rogue android herself without any dangers. Unable to resist her tinkering behaviors however, the Engineer can’t help herself from wanting to “fix” Jingliu, which causes her to wake up and see this odd little human trying to patch her up. Her corrupted code is telling her to kill on sight, but her body won’t move and instead; she just keeps watching the Engineer fix her with slow, unblinking eyes. Once she’s fully charged, she has the full capability of murdering the Engineer on sight, but for some reason chooses not to, simply getting up and following the Engineer once she tries to leave.
Congratulations, you’ve accidentally made the killer android like you 😅

hihi! I want to say that I really LOVE the way you write Blade <33 and also what do you think about Blade with a reader who was part of the hcq in the past being reincarnated and joining the stellaron hunters in the present timeline but they don't remember anything from their past such as being Yingxing's lover
Yeah! Of course :) Didn't know if you wanted Yandere Blade or normal Blade assuming the former because it's the only Blade, it's not anything hardcore tho, I've written so far but let me know if this doesn't suit you, and I'll try again :)
Warning: High Cloud Quintet Spoilers,
TW: Kidnapping, Yandere
Note: Reader is a vidyadhara (think that makes the most sense in terms of reincarnation)
You knew everyone fairly well but you knew Yingxing the best. The two of you spending evenings next to each other in the same bed and days by each other's side. You weren't much of a fighter but he made you a weapon nonetheless and you carried it everywhere.
You would laugh as you saw Jing Yuan and Yingxing train while Jingliu would make them run laps every time they messed up their stance. You would stare at the skies with Baiheng and speak about worlds you'd only heard of in stories. Dan Feng was the one you knew the least but as everyone else became rowdy the two of you would stand in silence, both of you smiling with equal understanding of each other.
Then Shuhu, an emanator of abundance, attacked and those happy moments drifted off as dandelion seeds in the wind. You focused on evacuating citizens, fighting off mara struck with the knowledge you'd gained from watching Yingxing train. Your eyes were always on his body. Jing Yuan had been with you initially, the two of you had been talking about what to do for Yingxing's birthday. Beneath Jing Yuan's aloof exterior there was still a child, he was young after all.
You weren't sure where everyone else was but you only hoped they'd be okay.
Baiheng died. Dan Feng and Yingxing committed a sin, which would lead to both of them being banished. Jingliu returned but was struggling with mara. Jing Yuan was left to deal with the consequences as you left. You couldn't leave your lover on your own could you?
So you followed the mess that Yingxing was, making sure he never got hurt too much, trying to keep him safe. He didn't look the same, white hair turned to a blueish black and cool gray eyes turned a burning hot red. You still loved him, he didn't remember you, and whenever he did it was followed by a bout of pain. Part of you didn't want him to remember, if it was that terrible.
For the majority of the time you stayed by his side he was in and out of it, struggling to even move at points. You weren't around to see when he was able to fight time and again, when he went and hunted after Dan Heng, and how every time he was slain he came back stronger anew.
You had to leave, otherwise you likely would've died. You did it while he slept, otherwise he would've realized and maybe you would've felt too guilty to leave. But you had to go through the rebirth process. You left behind a journal for yourself to read and so you would go back to Yingxing but you never got the chance. After all if anyone else read it, why would they want a Vidyadhara leaving and risking their life, when population numbers already dwindled? Especially if they were risking their life for someone who almost ruined everything.
You were told you took a hundred extra years to hatch. You learned everything anew, deciding to pick up a weapon, it felt comfortable in your hands. Sometimes you'd dream of fighting mara struck off with it, sometimes the weapon was idly by your side as you felt joy course through dream you's body as you spoke to a friendly white haired male.
The thing was throughout a hundred years of living you'd never found a reason to live. The only thing you longed for were your dreams. You'd heard of a land called Penacony, where you could live in your dreams, and you'd smuggled your way in but it wasn't what you thought. You wanted to live in your memories, not some idealistic world. So you wandered planet from planet in search of something, anything. Your only purpose became finding a reason to live.
Everything changed when a woman called Kafka recruited you, she was all smiles and charm, and promised you the thing you were looking for. You'd been skeptical and challenged her but when she elaborated that you'd be able to live within your memories, you decided to join her. Whether Elio's plan worked out or not mattered naught to you, so long as you were able to live in your memories again.
Your dreams got fuzzier harder to reach with time, as if your past life was slipping away from you. This wasn't supposed to happen. But things improved slightly when a man with long navy blue hair eagerly joined the Stellaron Hunters. He looked at you with a strange longing gaze, it was honestly rather pathetic. Pathetic looked good on him though, well he looked good in general.
"Blade," Your voice held no extra emotion to it as he walked over to you, he felt strangely familiar, as if existing by his side wouldn't be that bad.
So you hung around him often, you weren't sure why he hung around you but he didn't speak much to you. It wasn't that there was nothing to say but too much to say, to the point he couldn't say anything. Instead he often clung onto you like you were his lifeline, in bouts of mara, his grip hurt but it wasn't the worst pain you'd experienced. Being a Stellaron Hunter meant you'd faced your fair share of fights. Now that Blade was here, you got hurt less and less, he'd tank blows for you and annihilate whoever you were against. There were always large stains of blood left in the place of your battles but you never got dirty.
You wondered what he would do if you died, go insane? From the little sanity he had left, "What would you do if I died?" You asked a slight smile on your face before returning to your usual silence.
You didn't have a moment to speak before you felt your back crash against the cold, hard floor knocking the air out of you. Normally you'd be able to keep up with Blade while sparring, although you doubted he had the heart to go all out against you. Now he gripped your biceps with no regard for your feelings, yet, it only lasted a few seconds as he loosened his hold to remove the pain yet keep you still. His knees rested next to your hips, and you could feel the heat of his skin through your clothes.
"...You don't like that question?" You spoke with a grin on your face, was he really so attached to you?
Hot red eyes glared at you, as if you'd just committed a sin, "No. You... don't understand anything now. You... you've done far more than you should've." He forced himself to let go of your arms, standing up and walking away as stiff as a board. It was as if the very process was agonizing.
You stared at his back in puzzlement, "...Blade did you know me?"
He didn't answer.
Which led to your turn to chase Blade, always a step behind. When you weren't following him, you knew he was nearby, somewhere you couldn't see him. You could feel his gaze rest on your head, it felt very unique. You'd beg Blade for any clue about your past but he would remain quiet, as if ignoring you. He'd still step into all of your fights, blade itching to be used.
You only made progress on the mission where you'd been ordered to go to the Xianzhou Luofu, as someone who'd been raised there you happily snuck along even if it wasn't your mission. You were sure Elio knew anyway. Blade was on his own mission and for once you were alone. On the Luofu you met a man that gave you the same familiar feeling as Blade, a young fellow by the name of Dan Heng. He didn't recognize you at all though, so you assumed you didn't know him. He was the only one to catch a glimpse of your face without your cloak.
You traveled with him, Luocha, and Sushang for fun before dashing off to the streets, cloak covering any distinguishable part of your body, to buy some snacks. You ran into a short dragon girl, who felt somewhat familiar, but you doubted you knew her too. But then there was the general of the Luofu, a well spoken man, who put on the appearance of a slacker.
Did he sleep because he could no longer stand life? He felt familiar as well but you also empathized with him and that was why you went up to talk him. Putting on the act of a fortune teller, you saw a hint of recognition when he heard your voice. He agreed to let his fortune be read, and you did so staring at him for any other hint of your past. He looked at you very sorrowfully.
You weren't sure what compelled you to say it but you shared some thoughts with him, "I sleep a lot too," you suddenly remarked, uncaring that it gave away you having watched over him for a while, "Less now. But in the past the only place I could live was my dreams, memories of my past life. I yearn for them, dearly."
The general looked at you his smile waning, "Then perhaps one day we can discuss them." So he did know you. Who... exactly were you in the past? How did you find so much happiness, in the simplest things? How could you do that now?
But the two of you were never able to discuss that as the final act of Blade and Kafka's plan came into fruition you found yourself between a mournful Jing Yuan and Blade, who'd reappeared. You didn't mind Blade's company, he just got in the way sometimes.
Especially when he was holding the blade of his sword to the only person who'd been willing to help you recover your past. Jing Yuan didn't put up a fight, it was rather strange, instead he spoke in a wistful tone, "The two of you found each other again." Perhaps you'd been closer to Blade in your past life than you thought.
You'd unceremoniously been brought back to the ship the Stellaron Hunters were currently using. It was not by choice. Blade held you in his arms as you kicked and bit and scratched. He didn't mind in the slightest. He may have even liked it which dissuaded you a bit from continuing. You didn't scream, he'd probably kill any bystanders who cared anyway.
It was annoying. Even once you were back on the ship he was always by your side, literally. One part of his body had to be touching yours at all times, otherwise he'd begin to panic.
"...Tell me about my past." You demanded, glaring at him, concerningly more upset over this matter than him kidnapping you and his constant clinginess.
"Of six people, three must pay the price... why did you waste your time caring for someone like me? You love me..." then in a pitiful voice, seeking for confirmation he asked, "right?"
You looked at the mess of the man before you, had you loved him in your previous life? If so, then wasn't he part of your happiness... So you'd have to learn to love him again, "Right," You lied with a smile, resting a hand on his back as he embraced you burying his face in your neck.
The moment Blade couldn't see your face the smile dropped from it.
Imo Blade would hide his own sinful past and actions from the reader and not want them to have to embark down the road of pain, since he knows how terrible it is.
Reader is also lowkey a two faced person, don't know how much you guys noticed, but they put on one of those facades but inside they're like i'm dying inside yay... ._. i like two faced characters :) they're so fun to read in stories, haven't really written one before though
I honestly think reader is more unhealthy than Blade like yeah he's kind of obsessed with you but at the same time reader just concerning like highly fucking concerning. Did not mean for reader to be so concerning just happened.
Anyway as much as I love like that I waited 800 years for you troupe! I'm not a big fan of it, personally, with Blade's character just because he's a very big red flag for a relationship even as a non yandere. Being in love with someone from the past can turn out good but I feel like with Blade it would turn out so horribly and he would just see a memory as opposed to the past, present, and future of the reader.
I like the idea of him falling in love with someone while he's Blade because Blade feels like a very different person from Yingxing.
That being said the idea of reincarnated lovers always has its own kind of charm :)

Since you said that you wanted to write something more cute for jingliu I am here to make that request as part for your current follower event.
I like the three prompts 1 ; 17 and 34 in the fluff category (so sfw) and think they would fit together quite nicely. (I haven't seen an ask with 3 promts yet so if that is too much you don't have to use them all.)
I like 34 the most though since I as well am one of the people who just wants to see Jingliu happy. That's all.
Thank you for writing for us. I really like your work. Love you.
ahhhhh thank you for requesting this, i chose to go with pre-mara struck jingliu for this one and it warmed my heart. i hope you enjoy it, sorry for taking so long to get to it </3
Tumblr media
Gradients of reds and yellows across the setting sky and the sweet wine sliding down her throat warm her limbs from the inside, dulling Jingliu’s otherwise sharp mind. The Luofu’s sunsets are best witnessed on top of the Jade Wheel with her favourite indulgences, alcohol and quiet. The summer breeze runs through her loose hair like a soothing hand. She stares at the clear skies and uses the comforting view to smooth out the tension knots in her body from another long day of training eager Cloud Knights. She recognizes their drive to succeed, that burning need to prove their worth to their peers, and every day she stokes those flames to prepare them for the realities of war. They aren’t ready, no one ever is, but they will be called to battle one day just as she had been and she only hopes they will cling to that fire and come out the other side, her retainer above all.
Jingliu brings the round bottle to her lips and briefly shuts her eyes as the rosy liquid touches her tongue. She didn’t bother getting a glass, Baiheng assured her she could have the entire bottle and she had no intention of sharing, much to her close friends’ disappointment. She can’t remember how long she’s been sitting there watching warm colours paint the sky but feels no urgency to return to her duties for the evening. From this height the commotion of the city below can’t properly reach her ears, there is only the familiar humming of starskiffs racing among the nebulas like white noise meant to put her to sleep. Away from the crowd, she feels the most at ease. The minutes pass slowly and she takes these moments to breathe and allow her thoughts to run free without disruptions. The sky begins to take on a darker colour, shades of blue and purple that remind her of healing hands and gentle reprimands. Unscarred skin feels foreign against her own, its softness speaks of a life much different from hers, but… the warmth that spreads across her chest is not unlike drinking half a bottle of wine at sunset with only the clouds as company.
The distinct sound of shoes on metal brings Jingliu out of her reverie. She expects Baiheng, who likely decided she wanted to indulge herself as well, and reclines on the wheel using both palms to support herself. Her gaze doesn’t part from the impending night as the person climbs the ladder leading to the top and lets out a heavy exhale. The audible panting, though amusing, tells her that it isn’t her friend that has come to bother her. Baiheng is in much better shape, climbing to the very top of the Jade Wheel requires little effort from her; she’s done it too many times to be deterred by the exercise. Still, Jingliu doesn’t acknowledge them until they take a seat next to her, conscious of the distance between them, the half-empty bottle of wine at hand’s reach of the both of them.
Five starskiffs fly by before any word is uttered. She can hear you catch your breath and the corner of her mouth twitches in a faint smile that disappears almost immediately. The alcohol she’s been sipping for the past two hours has cracked her defences.
“You should get out more,” Jingliu says finally, lidded eyes facing the horizon. She isn’t looking at you, but she can picture the affronted furrow of your brows just as clearly.
“I get out plenty. I’m a healer, not a soldier.”
“Why go through the effort?”
“You’ve been avoiding me.”
Jingliu doesn’t respond to that statement. Her hand reaches for the wine and she takes another sip that she doesn’t enjoy as much as the previous ones. Your tone isn’t accusatory, but rather matter-of-factly, as it often is. Your logical mind and bluntness sometimes make her feel like her actions are irrational; she has been avoiding your searching gaze and easy compassion for a reason she can no longer remember fully. You have a way of unravelling her. She would never admit that she is scared of the person you see in her, someone who isn’t hatred and revenge condensed into one weapon. It’s ridiculous, the list of things that send a shiver down her spine ranges from burning planets meant to destroy all life and… you. The difference is, she can’t cut you down with a sword.
She feels your eyes on her and Jingliu, who never backs down from a challenge, doesn’t meet them.
“...I brought the oil for your shoulders,” you speak up quietly, setting down a small glass bottle next to the alcohol. Jingliu turns to look at it. “Once a day for a week. You should start to feel relief in a couple of days.”
“You could have given it to Jing Yuan.”
“I didn’t want to give it to Jing Yuan. You asked for it personally, it’s only right I give it to you personally, no? Besides, you never picked it up and I wanted to know what I did wrong.”
She shakes her head slightly. “Nothing.”
“So why do you run from me?”
Jingliu takes a couple of minutes to find an articulate answer. It’s a strange feeling to be surrounded by people who look out for her and admire her, to be where she is in her life as current Sword Champion of the Luofu with a purpose beyond what has been driving her for centuries. She has close friends she would die for and her everyday life is no longer a battlefield she has to survive. She’s still unused to this reality. She’s also embarrassed as she comes to the conclusion that this is the reason why she runs the other way. You bring another sense of novelty that feels almost uncomfortable, like a tingling sensation under her skin, and because it isn’t something she can fight, she chooses flight.
“I don’t know,” she admits, briefly emboldened by the wine, “I shouldn’t be allowed to be this happy.”
“You avoid me because I make you happy?” There’s a cheeky smile in your reply and a hint of incredulity, but she doesn’t expect you to understand. “That’s ridiculous.”
“Perhaps.”
Night approaches rapidly and the temperature begins to drop with it. The change is nothing to her, but a glance at your attire makes her believe it’ll get chilly enough for you to feel it soon.
You gesture to the alcohol. “Can I?”
Jingliu watches as you lift the bottle to your lips and take a cautious first sip, then decide that you like the taste and take a bigger one. Your fingers are curled around the neck and your eyelids drop a little at the sensation of the juice warming your chest, your lips puckered around the mouth where she placed her own lips a moment ago. You sit cross-legged, back straight, and your shirt gives her a view of your bare shoulder blades; she lingers on the exposed skin for a few seconds longer than she would have if she wasn’t tipsy before following the curve of your shoulder and up your neck, landing on the roundness of your cheek. So high up, the navy sky envelops you in an embrace that makes you stand out, and Jingliu simply stares. You read the label on the wine, checking the ingredients part— you are the only one she knows who always does this— and you nod in approval after some time.
“Not bad. Baiheng knows her stuff.”
You lay the bottle back between the two of you. The warmth she sees in your gaze as it connects with hers ignites the familiar one deep inside her chest, hidden in the dark crevices of her heart. It spreads to her belly, builds a home there among the slimy, beating parts of her, and makes them beautiful. Jingliu now has a name for that feeling, but she has no time to ponder it.
You send a shaky smile her way and there’s a nervous edge to your words when you speak them. “What? Why do you have to look at me like that? It’s making me weak, please stop.”
“I think I’m in love with you and I don’t know what to do.”
The confession escapes her without filter and for the moment that follows, Jingliu is frozen where she sits. Her head sharply turns away from your widening eyes but she barely comprehends the expanse of blue before her; she hears her pulse in her ears, feels her heartbeat through her chest, and is reminded of the primal fear that plagues her only at night when her mind is unguarded. She despises it, this helplessness that renders her sword-wielding hands useless, and in the face of someone like you— a healer from the Alchemy Commission still studying prescriptions in the hopes of becoming Cauldron Master, a mere apprentice who has not known war, with your unblemished hands and uncut skin. You look at her and do not see the blade. She wants to blame the alcohol but the truth is that she forgets herself around you, suddenly she wields her sword to protect instead of slice and what keeps her alive is more than a drive to survive. Your presence alone dulls her inhibitions and she doesn’t recognize the woman she becomes. For some time now she has been holding on to her self-control with bleeding fingertips, all for it to be ruined by a drunken admission.
Jingliu feels your pinky finger hesitantly brush hers and her shoulders tense once more, though she can’t bring herself to pull away completely. She hasn’t noticed you moving closer or the claw formed by her fingers.
“Do you mean it?” Your quiet voice holds childish hope, and you aren’t deterred by her lack of reply. “I think I’m in love with you too.”
Jingliu stares at the soft movements of your hand; your pinky touches hers nervously, and then your cold fingertips slide over her short nails and sharp knuckles with uncertainty, as if you were approaching a wild animal to prove your good intentions. Slowly and without breaking contact, your palm flips beneath her fingers. She feels the pad of your fingertip rub the skin of her index and watches as your digits gradually lace together with no resistance from her. Your skin is smooth against her rough one, two worlds meet to create something more. She can’t find the words, she’s never been one for literature, but she sees you staring at your joined hands the same way from her peripheral vision and she realizes that they would be useless. The bottle of wine lies forgotten on top of the Jade Wheel where the two of you sit under the twinkling stars, the air light with clumsy confessions, and Jingliu’s usually cool body emits a warmth she only associates with you.
