a/n: hey guys! This is @kitashinsvks idea and i just gave it my own spin! Sorry for the wait bby! I kinda got distracted lolol- I have another angsty/fluff idea that I might do soon after I do a soldier, poet, king request! Requests are open so please don't be shy to leave them in my ask box! Tendo sent him the link to a little octopus you could flip to change its emotions.

He knows that his friend was never good at gauging emotions so he thought it was a good idea.

When Ushijima saw it, he immediately went online and ordered it.

This was the one he ordered:

Anyway- he waited everyday anxiously by the door for the package.

You asked him multiple times what he was waiting for and he would always smile to himself and shake his head, not uttering another word.

When it finally gets there, he immediately took it from the courier and ran into the guest bedroom to unbox it without your prying eyes.

He then places it in a small gift bag he bought and went out to give it to you.

"hmm? What's this, Toshi?"

"a gift. Please open it right now. I want to see your face." he said, handing you the gift then ushering you on the couch while he stood in front of you anxiously.

Please be in awe-

When you opened it and saw the cute little octopus, you had to keep your giggles in.

"what's this for?" you asked, admiring it and even flipping it to see the other side. It's not like you didn't know what it was, you were planning on ordering one but it looked like you didn't need to anymore.

"well, I saw it online and since you know I have a hard time gauging your emotions, you could use it and I could see if you're sad or happy," he said, sitting down next to you with a proud smile on his face.

His effort made you tear up. He almost panicked when he saw it but you immediately reassured him by flipping the octopus on its happy side then engulfing him in a big hug.

The octopus lived on the nightstand right in the range of the door so Wakatoshi could see if you were happy from the doorway.

It usually flipped on its happy side but in the rare case he sees it on its sad side, he would cautiously enter the room then ask if you want to cuddle.

Please don't leave him hanging- say yes-

You bought him one too so you could also gauge his emotions.

And he decided to involve the little octopus in his proposal.

But that's another story for another time.
