"We will, buddy, but we're waiting for Simon, hey? You'll get all the sugar you can stomach once he gets here." Fionn sighed deeply and seemed to slump down a full inch― earning another lazy smile and a low laugh from his father before Ruairi returned his attention to scanning the crowd in search of his friend.

Fionn seemed almost to be vibrating at his side and Ruairi wondered what the over-under was on the boy simply bolting for the s'mores area, consequences be damned, right as he caught sight of Simon and raised a hand to catch the older man's attention. He glanced back at his son and smiled, "Alright, Speed Racer. You're clear for takeoff ― you stay within yelling distance, alright? If I lose sight of you I'll be cross." Ruairi schooled his expression into something stern and Fionn nodded so hard and so rapidly his beanie nearly came tumbling off the back of his head before he hurried away. Ruairi turned to greet Simon as he approached, "Mornin'! I'm afraid the mini-me was itchin' to get as much sugar into his body as humanly possible so he's already sprinted off. If we hurry we might catch him. How's it goin'?"

perhaps  tifa  ,  for  one  .  barret  ,  maybe  .  but  so  far  ,  between  the  turks  and  the  shadows  ,  doesn't  seem  she  keeps  real  friendly  company  .  he  wants  to  be  her  friend  ,  too  ,  in  a  way  ,  but  he's  not  so  sure  he  can  admit  it  yet  .  things  like  trust  and  companionship  just  gotta  come  naturally  over  time  .  no  need  to  rush  it  .  but  hopefully  by  keeping  around  ,  she  doesn't  get  too  mixed  up  in  whatever  darkness  lurks  betwixt  the  life  of  the  planet  .

Hours ago, Flora would have let panic overcome her and dive off in the opposite direction. But her previous talk with Princess Camilla lets logic take over. The Nohrian nobles...at least the ones she has encountered tonight, do not see her as a traitor. Although Hoshido should find a Nohrian such as herself as even more hostile...

She has to try. One life has already been discarded. Perhaps in this second one, she can seek pardon from those she betrayed.

"Lord Takumi," Flora closes her eyes upon entering the prince's presence. "If...there is anything I may do to improve your experience tonight, please allow me to serve."

"And...please accept my portion of tonight's brooch exchange," Flora slips off a string of pearls and holds it out for Takumi. She is getting rather used to giving these out...though giving is all she was taught to do as a maid.

A soft yawn escaped from his lips, quick to attempt to reenergize himself by .. drinking some of his beverage. A small hum of contentment escaping from his lips, it was definitely different from what he was use to, that’s for certain.

Looking at her, a small glare was present upon his face. Before softly sighing, adverting his gaze elsewhere for a moment, play nice .. he needed to remind himself. Despite the feelings that were quelling within his body. The … slight anger, for the time being, he needed to .. quell it and be somewhat civil.

Before words could properly escape, he was taken aback by her sudden act, confusion written on his face. Staring slightly like a deer in the headlights, would he calm himself and .. attempt to properly respond.

“ Err .. thank you ? “ Blinking in surprise for a moment, before taking the string of pearls, before slipping them into the safety of the pocket, moving to take off his teardrop, holding it out to Flora in exchange. “ If that’s the case, then .. I believe I owe you mine in return? Not just that, but .. for .. coming in my time of aid, g .. granted, this doesn’t make up for much, but I’ll try to .. make it more grander. When I have a proper chance. “

The last few months since they'd started dating had been overwhelmingly lovely― he was happy with his life as a whole but being with Jasper had only made that feeling more present and any time he spent with the younger man was time he cherished. "I was wondering when it went missing but it suits you better, I reckon." He continued, pausing to press a kiss to the side of Jasper's head as they made their way towards the hot chocolate stand. He could almost picture the excitement that would be written all over Jasper's face when they finally arrived and the thought alone was enough to make him smile― enough to make the 'I love you' that had been lingering on his tongue for a solid month seem to come that much closer to slipping out.

He wasn't quite certain what was stopping him― nerves, he imagined; being a generally anxious person, he imagined; but he was becoming more and more used to the idea of admitting it by the hour and more and more confident that everything would alright if he did. "Are you excited?" He asked curiously, "I know it's your favorite, obviously, and I figured this was a good date, huh? If it isn't up to snuff we can go wherever you'd like. “Ruairi,” He said with a grin, one hand turned as he pointed to himself. “I probably should’ve led with that but I tend to get a bit too excited about meeting new people to go about it that way.” It had always been that way— the eagerness to make friends when he’d had such trouble doing so as a child seemed to cling to him every moment afterwards and it was a habit he’d carried into his adulthood that he found relatively harmless. “Which is sort of counterproductive, I suppose. Anyhow, it’s great to meet you, Mimi!” His smile was easy and broad and he could only hope he wasn’t coming off as a complete dork the more he spoke— he wasn’t convinced he’d mind it so much but he certainly worried more often than he didn’t that he was always just a bit too much in most interactions. His friends had taken great pains to convince him otherwise but some ideas held on with such force that he couldn’t quite shake them even if he wanted to.

He shook his head. “I don’t mind at all, love. He’s nine— he’ll be turning ten in April and every time I think about it I have that brief second of panic and a lot of remembering that I’m getting a little old now,” he said playfully, laughter clear in his tone. His laughter escaped quickly in response to her joke and he nodded deeply, “I’d say I’ll have a chat with my boss but I’m my own boss so it’d be a bit difficult. Or maybe I could get my best friend to do it since we work together but he’d have too much fun with it, I reckon.” He paused for a moment, “Sort of? I do work in an office but I’m a game developer and I do writing for them as well. I’ve got a studio an’ all— it’s kind of a whole thing.” It wasn’t a great explanation and he always felt bashful when he went into any great detail about his line of work or the fact that he owned an award winning gaming studio as it seemed an almost absurd thing to share with people. “What sorta work do you do?”

“Probably,” Mimi agreed with a laugh, “Though if people were planning on robbing me blind as I napped, they’d be extremely disappointed. I think I have about a dollar to my name and this ugly bobble hat.” She gestured to the grey beanie that lay askew on the top of her head as she adjusted herself in the cosy chair. She leaned over to shake his extended hand, always glad to make a new friend even in the most unexpected of situations. “Mimi, by the way.” Just because she always felt weird not introducing herself, never wanting to feel like a stranger for too long.

She smiled as he expressed his son’s enjoyment influencing his own, nodding sagely though her own experience was occasional babysitting gigs and her brothers when they were all younger. “Yeah I get that. I think it’s the same as the holidays, fun regardless, but there’s a bit of extra magic in the air when kids are around, they seem to appreciate every aspect.” If life had dealt her different cards, Mimi would have loved to work with kids, wondering if she went down the medicine route, she would have specialised in paediatrics, or even neonatology. Unsurprisingly, she didn’t really get any kids at the spa aside from the occasional gaggle of girls getting birthday mani-pedis, or the rare first-ever facial for a teenager. “How old’s your son, if you don’t mind me asking? Oh, same, if I didn’t have my fingers I’d be fired, we should look into our work benefits.” She joked. “So, you’re an office guy then?”
