An acquaintance had this whole thing where he planned to propose on their holiday to Thailand but kept not finding the perfect moment, then wanted to propose on a weekend away but it kept falling through, and then literally did it like randomly at home and had to go fetch the ring lol because it was an accident.

I think grand proposals can be romantic if they’re early in a relationship but they’re silly if it’s later in one and you’ve discussed it.

Oh, I will say one couple I know - worst wedding I attended ever and y’all know how obsessed I am with weddings so it’s really testament to the awfulness of this event but that’s a sidebar - were together ages but he’s a cheeseball (affectionate) and he did an Easter Egg hunt for their engagement. He had done Easter Egg hunts for her before with cute shit and she likes puzzles but this was on a grander scale and around the town her family has a beach house in (which is like her favorite place on earth).
