"Where's Nance? Is she busy or something?" Steve asked as he loudly, but smoothly climbed through Nancy's window, a lot more gracefully than Robin had done.
Robin shrugged. "She's either yelling at Mike or ruining another pot. She's still trying to learn this dish her mom made way back when, and the pots are going through absolute hell."
"Geez, is her cooking that bad?"
"Well," Robin paused, "let's just say it could be a lot better."
A familiar static noise came from Robin's walkie talkie that layed on Nancy's bedside table. The familiar noise slowly turning into Nancy's clear voice. A shiver ran down Robin's spine as she awkwardly smiled.
"I can hear you two, you know. You aren't exactly quiet."
"Oh no," Robin mumbled, stifling a noise as Steve's reaction was making her laugh. "I've been caught." Steve's own laugh being infectious as he covered his mouth to muffle it.
"If you must know, I am cooking and the pots are completely fine, Robin." A fake stern and bitter voice was heard, as a random noise went on in the background. "I thought you enjoyed tasting everything I make, but if it could be a lot better than-"
"I'm sorry!" Robin broke, blurting out the apology as she haphazardly reached for the walkie talkie. "I love your cooking and I'll always be your taste tester, even if the half the stuff you make is slightly burnt." Robin finished, briefly pausing to glance at Steve before looking back down at the device in her hands.
"Over," she quickly added, just as Steve audibly sighed and visibly ran a hand through his hair.
She heard a giggle over the receiver and smiled at the sound. "Wait, are they actually burnt?" Nancy asked, her tone shifting to genuine worry. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"It was just nice to see you that dedicated over something," Robin admitted. "I am honest when I 'critic' your food. It just makes me happy to see how passionate you are over this. And I just want to support you in whatever, you know?"
Nancy couldn't resist the unconscious smile pulling at her cheeks. "That's very sweet Robin, but I don't want to feed you burnt food. I want to make dishes that you enjoy."
"I'll enjoy anything you make me," Robin said earnestly. "Except if it includes some nasty shit, or like something I'm allergic to," she added as an afterthought.

This idea really only works as a tumblr post rambling to someone about a fic, but it aches, so I'm sharing.
Standard issue setup where Steve gets thrown back in time so he can fix things. One minute he's trying to keep the last of his friends alive in the final fight, the next he's waking up in bed in 1983, a day before Will would have gone missing.
Will is safe and home, but has horrible nightmares for a few weeks. After the first night, when he told his mom and his friends about it - the monster and the creepy place he went and the cold - they have nightmares too. It's strange that they all had dreams, but Will has always been a good storyteller.
Nancy and Barb get stuck on babysitting duty for the kids, where they mostly gossip about how Steve broke up with her one day and became a social outcast within two more.
The Party meets Jane at the start of summer break in 84, and they become fast friends. They know she has something bad in her past, but she's very careful not to say something she shouldn't. The boy who found her told her it was important, and her Dad agrees. The boys tell her that friends don't lie, and she quotes the boy who found her first, that 'safe is more important'
Will gets new nightmares as time goes on. Dustin dreams about a tadpole that grows too fast and eats his cat. They dream about things that could never be real, and they dream about Jane having superpowers and fighting monsters. Sometimes they talk about them a little, mostly they don't. They're just weird dreams after all, using words from DnD, and they're not little kids anymore.
Steve Harrington goes missing in early 1985. His car is found near the construction site for the new mall -- well, what's left of the construction site after a gas leak causes a massive explosion and fire.
That's when the kids start to realize something is weird. They see photos of this missing teenager who has been in so many of their dreams. It starts them talking, and they start to listen, and they've always loved to solve a mystery. They hear Nancy talking about him, and how he broke up with her out of nowhere and became super weird. How he dropped out of sports and showed up with bruises and bandages and scars after that. How he pushed away his old friends and never made new ones.
It's not until they're talking to El, who says she's not supposed to talk about him, that they decide there is definitely something weird, but they can't figure out what it is.
The dreams get weirder, and the circle grows. Nancy eventually talks to Jonathan and the kids. Joyce and Hopper talk. Over the summer, Robin, confused and shaking, finds Nancy to ask what's going on. Eddie makes it to 86 before a nightmare breaks him so badly he calls Chrissy Cunningham's house in the middle of the night to be sure she's okay.
It's not everyone who was ever touched by the Upside Down. Barb and Chrissy and Billy don't remember it at all. Benny goes about his life. Its the people that Steve knew and loved and had a connection to that are stuck with these dreams.
Once they accept that they're all seeing a cohesive thing, they start to compile it. Notes and notebooks and pinboards and post its as their dreams tell them the story.
Eventually, El confirms it might be possible by levitating the toaster.
They all accept that what they saw is real, but they also know it never happened. The Mall never opened. No earthquakes. Eddie is alive and Will never fell into the Upside Down. Even as more of them have dreams about dying, they don't understand.
It's Robin who puts it together for real, because everyone had dreams about Steve outside of the big fights and horrors, but she had dreams of long conversations and hushed confessions all the time. So at the end of 86, she's the one who hears him crying after they lost Dustin and Lucas to a pack of demodogs. She hears him talk about how he'd give anything to take it back and make it right. That's her Platonic Soulmate, and she knows him, even though they've never spoken.
So yeah, she might not know how, but she's the one that realizes what must have happened, what he must have done, and how much he achieved. They've all seen how much happier he was as years went on and they got closer. They've seen him protect them and tease them and help them in a hundred different ways.
And they know he made the choice, like he always did, to keep them safe, even if it cost him everything.

Every single character I have ever obsessed over falls into one of four categories:
Kid with no one in his corner who's used to looking after himself realises that (often despite his best efforts) people actually care about him and he has a support system.
Older brother type vibes who is the comic relief and painted as dumb or clueless but actually has deep insecurities and is so so smart in other ways and has a fiercely protective streak.
Young (though not always) woman who has been through a rough time and has Trauma but is still strong and refuses to let her past define her and makes an effort to be kind. (this character tends to become part of my soul)
Loser man become dad.
Also bonus points to trope voted Most Relatable but is never my favourite character:
5. Kid who has had a reasonably trauma-less life compared to friends and feels a bit like a sidekick and maybe doesn't consider their problems worthy when their friends have been through so much more

something in the back of my mind
wip/preview no.2 first preview
It’s silent when the door shuts behind Wayne. Except for Eddie’s soft breaths. Steve gazes down at him. It’s getting dark now, the room dim except for the silvery twilight that makes Eddie glow a little.
“I heard that, you know,” Eddie mumbles, and Steve’s face flushes with heat as he realises what Eddie’s teasing him about. Well actually I have a huge crush on you. Steve tugs his hair a little, watching Eddie smile.
“Go back to sleep, baby.”
“M’kay.”
Eddie sighs, nuzzling into Steve’s lap, and Steve watches. His heart aches. He’s never felt like this before, almost claustrophobic with it, like he suffocating on his own affection. He wonders if he’s ever actually been in love before.
He didn’t feel like this with Nancy. It was intense with her, of course, but not like this. He didn’t feel like he was dying a little bit every time he looked at her. It didn’t feel like the world was ending all over again. That’s what it feels like. The end of everything, unavoidable. Like his heart is being ripped straight out of his chest, and Eddie is holding it in the palm of his hand, and Steve is trusting him with it.
He would let him do anything with it. Squeeze it until it stops beating. Lift it to his mouth and drain it dry.

What happened, is that they switched teams and it had consequences.
Steve teamed up with Dustin to distract the demobats and Eddie went with Robin and Nancy to fry Vecna for good.
My inspiration : Don't go by BMTH ft. Lights
Steve asked to switch position last minute with Eddie because of a strange feeling in his guts. It wasn't fear. He knew what fear felt like. It's something he got to come across a lot in the last four years of fighting monsters and babysitting so many problem magnets. It was more of an intuition than anything, something that told him Eddie shouldn't be here. Over those years Steve learned to trust his guts to keep them alive, alongside swinging nailed baseball bats and throwing (mostly taking) punches. So, since this almost stranger that made him feel all sorts of confusing things was one of his people now, he got him to go elsewhere. Steve would do anything to protect his own. And awkwardly squeezed between Robin and Nancy, armed to the teeth, was the safest place he could think of for Eddie. He felt immediately more at ease. Yes, it was the right thing to do, undoubtedly.
“Don't try to be cute- be a hero or something.”
If Steve hadn't insisted they switched teams, if he could have listened to his own damned words... Eddie should have stayed strong against his worried puppy eyes and sweet tone, “look after the girls for me. Eds, Please.” He should have said “no Big Boy, we stick to the plan.” It was as simple as that. Eddie would have run. He would have. He knew he would have because that's what he did best. But no. “I'll make him pay” is what he boldly said in response before following the girls in the woods.
And then, Steve died in Dustin's arms.
Dustin refused to leave his body, asking him to wake up between strangled sobs.
Robin froze in place, silent, her eyes locked on the blood slowly soaking the ground.
Eddie chocked on a scream, his shaky legs giving out under the crushing weight of guilt.
And Nancy did what she knew Steve would have done. She swallowed down her own tears and screams to drag them out of there, to keep everyone alive.
Unfortunately, Vecna was a roach. Almost impossible to kill and disgusting. He survived. And they had to fight him again.
They erased him from the surface of every dimension eventually. Doesn't matter how. They made sure he paid double for what he did. However, it didn't bring back Steve. This, this is what mattered in the end.
Max woke up a few days after the final battle, blind and filled with so much rage after losing a second brother. A rage they all shared and fiercely kept close to their hearts even after Vecna's death.
The grey of the Upside Down still bled from wounds that may never fully close.
At least, they finally had the time and space to grieve and to attempt to heal those wounds. Mourning this death wasn't like anything they had suffered together until now, but they did their best.
Steve was their protector, a big brother, a hell of a babysitter, a bestfriend, a platonic soulmate, a first love, a something that will never have the chance to grow.
Loss and grief may drive people away from each other. Not them, or at least not forever.
The party split up for a while. Now that the world didn't end and they had a future to look forward to, everyone tried to get their life back. They all did great things and tried to not let the past slow them down too much. Steve would have been proud of his kids, his family.
He would have also understood their struggles.
Eddie and Robin were the ones that had the most troubles dealing with his death. Years have passed, yet, a part of them, and they couldn't really grasp how big it was, was still locked on slow spreading red and kneeling in grey dust.
They couldn't bear to be separated from one another since that day. They clung to each other with everything they had left of strength and love, trying to fight together the storm they were trapped in. Eddie was like the other half of her missing soulmate. And for Eddie, living with Robin was sometimes like experiencing a distorted echo of what could have been. They were platonic with a capital P, but they did everything together. Their bond was beautiful and thrived naturally outside their shared sorrow.
As for Nancy, she did what she knew Steve would have done. She stuck around the ones that needed her the most. She gave Eddie and Robin food when they forgot to eat. She reminded them to take their medications when they were being stubborn. She took everyone to his empty grave as much as they wanted. She tried her best to be there for them because they were her people. And if Steve taught her anything, it's that we take care of our own, no question asked.
Time passed again, Eddie and Robin craved to speak, to be heard. So they poured their fears, their pain, their happiness, and everything in between, in songs that seemed to resonate loudly around them. And when making music together started to become too serious for the duo to handle, Nancy became their manager.
The three of them had really fun days, as much as they had really bad days.
It was life. And it was more than Steve had.
So they made the most of it.
The kids and grown-ups always tried to show up at their shows as often as they could. Slowly, the band grew bigger and bigger, reaching more and more people everyday. People heard them. They listened. They cared. And it helped them heal, gave them a purpose.
Tonight, Eddie stands in front of a black sea of screams and hands thrown in the air. Older, longer hair, more piercings, even more tattoos. He didn't change that much. He lets himself take in this moment, his favorite, when they are blinded by spotlights, covered in sweat and quietly smiling at each other. Robin next to him is older too, hair buzzed, blue, bold make-up, a few piercings, tattoos Eddie himself put under her skin. She changed a lot more compared to him. She had always been beautiful, but she only glowed like that on stage.
The entire family is somewhere in the audience. It has been a year since they were all in the same place together. Even if it was hard to achieve, they always tried to meet once a year for this special day. It meant a lot for them.
It was extra special for Eddie because he was the only one that never got to celebrate Steve's birthday with him.
He is shaking from nervousness about the last song of the night, while Robin is crushing his hand in hers.
They never released it nor played it live until now. It's the song they wrote in spite of every progress they made against their torments and their intent to stay strong for their family. Their music is always deeply personal, but this one is different. This one is an unsung secret. It's something dark, disgraceful, raw and hungry that kept trashing relentlessly inside them.
Eddie was always shameful of the things he felt for a man he would only get to know through the memories of someone else, for a man that wasn't there to witness his love for him blossomed, for a man he would never be able to confess to. Those selfish feelings that he knew he didn't deserve to hoard were not something he was willing to let anyone hear about. Not even Nancy. Only Robin knew about the true colors of his shame and his guilt. But, well, Robin doesn't really count. She's not anyone. She is him. She is him.
Eddie takes a deep breath. They talked about it. He could be selfish and ugly and messy tonight, for the sake of both of them. Robin deserved as much as him to be truly heard.
All of them bare on the strings of his guitar and her violin. All of them bare for those who cared to listen.
“Hi again, we are Sacrificial Hero and we'll close the night with a special song. It's called Don't Go.
Sometimes we can't let go of things we never had.
Can you hear us?”
They hope their love can still reach him.
Until next time, until a second chance in another life.

poor stevie doesn’t know what’s hit him when you pull him into your lap, you’re fisting his cock so deliciously and squeezing the tip to make him whine out and he’s whimpering like ‘oh, baby, please’ and you’re cooing in his ear like ‘aw, stevie, does that feel good huh? like it when i touch your cock like this?’ and when he cums that first time, he cums hard like it just keeps coming and his cock is twitching like crazy as he paints his stomach with his cum and you say something like ‘oh, baby, made such a mess of yourself, let me clean it up?’ UHHHHHSHSH and he’s so fucked out and spent by the time you’re bouncing on his cock poor guy can’t even form a coherent thought let alone a sentence so he’s just whining and moaning and babbling absolutely nonsense as he lets you use his cock how you please 🫠

I was talking to @infinite-orangepeel and have been thinking about my fic Near Wild Heaven again. I’ve been rereading it and I honestly still think it’s my favorite thing i’ve ever written even if not a lot of people read it. so here is my little self promo asking you to read the fic if you’re interested ^_^ (excerpt below the cut)
Tumblr media
The sun was setting up ahead. The truck was filled with orange light. Steve knew that he really should have been better about keeping his eyes on the road, but his gaze kept drifting sideways to Eddie, the setting sun washing over him. He was so fucking beautiful.
They were still listening to Steve’s mix. They listened to Half a World Away, The Same Deep Water as You, Disintegration. He turned the volume up once Near Wild Heaven came on.
“Whenever we hold each other,” he sang along, “We hold each other. There’s a feeling that’s gone. Something has gone wrong. And I don’t know how much longer I can take it. House made of heart, break it. Take my head in your hands and shake it in this near wild heaven. Not near enough.”
Throughout the song, two primary emotions were warring inside of Steve.
The first was a sort of melancholy. It stemmed from knowing that Eddie had no idea how Steve felt, and probably wouldn’t feel the same way if he were to say something. It stemmed from the fear that Steve would be shut down if he did confess. It stemmed from the fear that he would never have the courage to.
“Whatever it takes, I’m giving. It’s just a gift I’m given. Try to live inside, trying to move inside. And I always thought that it would make me smarter but it’s only made me harder. My heart thrown open wide in this near wild heaven. Not near enough.”
The second emotion was elation. Steve had been thinking about Eddie for the past five years, even longer, and now here they were, together. Eddie was a few feet away, hair and face golden, faint smile on his lips as he listened to the music. He was radiant. If this was all Steve could have, just watching Eddie, he would settle for it.
Anything of Eddie he could have, Steve would take.
