"Where's Nance? Is she busy or something?" Steve asked as he loudly, but smoothly climbed through Nancy's window, a lot more gracefully than Robin had done.

Robin shrugged. "She's either yelling at Mike or ruining another pot. She's still trying to learn this dish her mom made way back when, and the pots are going through absolute hell."

"Geez, is her cooking that bad?"

"Well," Robin paused, "let's just say it could be a lot better."

A familiar static noise came from Robin's walkie talkie that layed on Nancy's bedside table. The familiar noise slowly turning into Nancy's clear voice. A shiver ran down Robin's spine as she awkwardly smiled.

"I can hear you two, you know. You aren't exactly quiet."

"Oh no," Robin mumbled, stifling a noise as Steve's reaction was making her laugh. "I've been caught." Steve's own laugh being infectious as he covered his mouth to muffle it.

"If you must know, I am cooking and the pots are completely fine, Robin." A fake stern and bitter voice was heard, as a random noise went on in the background. "I thought you enjoyed tasting everything I make, but if it could be a lot better than-"

"I'm sorry!" Robin broke, blurting out the apology as she haphazardly reached for the walkie talkie. "I love your cooking and I'll always be your taste tester, even if the half the stuff you make is slightly burnt." Robin finished, briefly pausing to glance at Steve before looking back down at the device in her hands.

"Over," she quickly added, just as Steve audibly sighed and visibly ran a hand through his hair.

She heard a giggle over the receiver and smiled at the sound. "Wait, are they actually burnt?" Nancy asked, her tone shifting to genuine worry. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"It was just nice to see you that dedicated over something," Robin admitted. "I am honest when I 'critic' your food. It just makes me happy to see how passionate you are over this. And I just want to support you in whatever, you know?"

Nancy couldn't resist the unconscious smile pulling at her cheeks. "That's very sweet Robin, but I don't want to feed you burnt food. I want to make dishes that you enjoy."

"I'll enjoy anything you make me," Robin said earnestly. "Except if it includes some nasty shit, or like something I'm allergic to," she added as an afterthought.

i hope robin and nancy kiss next season and we get a time jump to the like 90s and they get an apartment together and get two cats named peanut and butter and they live happily ever after because they both deserve it. and i hope they bring argyle back so him and jonathan can kiss on the lips too and they can adopt a weird little dog and name him weedy or something and they go for drives in the pizza van and they occasionally visit ronance (ft peanut and butter + weedy combo) :3

So, Steve and Robin go to see Corroded Coffin at the hideout and somehow fall for Eddie and Chrissy. Oh, also, Steve and Robin can read each other's minds. Ft. she/her/he/him Robin and Steve, HOH Steve, flirty Chrissy, Eddie dedicating songs to Steve and making DnD NPCs based on him, and Chrissy as Steve's cousin. Just, so so so lovely.

Not only is soft and amazingly written, but the books they reference are amazing at making the narrative move, I even added the ones I didn't know to my TBR. Gender is not heavily discussed or central here, but that's something I personally enjoy so, yeah. 9k | Rated T

I've seen people talking about the first book in this series, L is for linoleum (and nothing else), but not so much for the second one, lady stardust, and it's amazing.

On how the older queer kids in Hawkins find each other, their identities, and love. Ft. Trans Eddie, NB Stevie, side ronance, queer solidarity, mom friend Steve, rocky horror as bonding, it has everything. Also, wonderfully tagged, everything you need to know is right there.

I saw you like sapphic fiction and Taylor Swift and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend and has massive Taylor Swift vibes (especially anti hero, last great American dynasty, gold rush, illicit affairs, I Did Something Bad, and champagne problems). It also has a subplot about arson at the White House and ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters!

She huffs, pulling her hand off her hip so she can fold her arms across her chest. She’s not a child, and Mr. Munson is not Hopper plus he's her boss, so she doesn’t stomp her foot at the tease. He smiles like a dad from TV, or maybe she just still isn’t used to that indulgent expression being directed at her off of a TV screen. “Do you want us to close when we’re in class or do you want us to come in?”
