👤 To the merry band of Abyss adolescents! Opinions on Forwin the songster among your number?
Send me 👤+ a character name for my muse’s opinion on that character ; accepting
“What’s with the census?” Yuri asks their new guest, who sputters something about bullying at the academy.
“Bullying? C’mon, you think we bully that guy?” Balthus asks.
“Well, Coco might. Nothing says ‘good classmates’ like using the poor guy as a guinea pig,” Hapi adds.
“It is not bullying if Forwin is willing. In fact, he was very eager to help.”
Yuri shakes his head. He’s not going to tell Constance the truth - that’s not his problem. It also won’t be his problem when she fries Forwin alive when she realises who he is. This is their mess; Yuri has far more important things to worry about.
“It’s Abyss. We’re not standing around, holding hands and singing happy songs about our feelings. But we take care of our own down here, and we don’t bully people.” Yuri sits his hand on his hip. “Forwin’s a good kid. He’s that kind of naive that people can really get along with down here.” Especially the light-fingered folk of Abyss. Okay, so maybe there’s a little bullying, but that’s what you get when you decide to flee to the underground.
“He’s a real talented singer,” Balthus adds. “Got the voice of an angel. It’s a damn shame to keep talented folks locked up down here, but that’s life. Guess the world’s just scared of skilled guys like us and the world’s gotta lock us down, huh?”
“Balthus,” Yuri sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“What? It’s true.” A shrug. “Anyway yeah, I gotta agree with Yuri. He’s got that air of ‘kicked puppy’, if you know what I mean. Shy, quiet, that kinda vibe. Betcha he’s hiding ‘round here somewhere, in fact.”
It is a little weird he isn’t around the other Wolves at the moment, come to think of it. Maybe he’s doing something for the professor.
“I know exactly what you mean, B. Winnie’s awkward. But, I dunno, it’s kinda cute - exactly like a puppy.” Hapi taps a finger to her chin. “Whatever, he’s quiet, and he leaves me alone. I don’t know what else you could ask for in a guy.”
“Oh? Is our Hapi falling in love?” Constance asks with a sly smile.
“Gross. I didn’t mean it like that. He’s just… not annoying.” And it’s true; she doesn’t see him that way. He’s a nice enough guy, and she’s not looking for anything beyond friendship. Still, if she did have to pick someone in this dump to live happily ever after with, yes, it would be Forwin.
“As for me, I do think Forwin is a very useful test subject. He’s always been willing to do as I ask.” If Constance thought beyond her experiments, she might have asked herself, why has Forwin always been so willing to help her? Why does he always look so guilty when she approaches him? She doesn’t think about it, because none of that matters when she has a new spell that will simply dazzle everyone - she has to test it on Forwin first, though.
“‘Cause he’s a doormat,” Hapi says.
“Don’t be rude! He simply understands the value of my work.” Constance huffs. “Regardless, I would say he’s an intelligent and kind soul. One day, once my house is restored, I will find a way to repay him for his aid in restoring Nuvelle.”
Yuri snorts. No one notices.
“So you see, everything’s all fine down here. Are we done?” Yuri asks. “As you can see, we all adore our little Forwin.” He says it as a joke, but it’s not far from the truth; he’s just never been good with sincere emotion.

Brawling his way into the battlefield, it's Ignis von Albrecht!
Ignis von Albrecht has a fiery temper, and he’s not afraid to use it. He’s the main brawler for the Cotton Candy Elephants and has a strong aptitude for fire-based attacks. Word of caution; do not mention that his relative Balthus is the King of Grappling; Ignis will argue and throw punches to prove why he’s the REAL grappling king instead.
And now, for Ignis' stats!
Crest: Chevalier (major)
Heroes’ Relic/Sacred Weapon: Vajra-Mushti
Strengths: Axe, Brawl, Reason
Weaknesses: Faith, Sword
Hidden Talent: Heavy Armor
Personal Skill: “Fiery Fury”— Has a 10% higher chance of landing a Critical hit if HP is below 75% when using Gauntlets. Trigger = %Mt
Ideal Classes: Fighter, Brawler, Grappler, Brigand, Warrior, War Master, War Monk
Learnable Magic: Fire, Bolganone, Ragnarok, Sagittae, Meteor, Heal, Nosferatu, Rescue
Ideal Combat Arts: Smash, Helm Splitter, Wild Abandon, Exhaustive Strike, Fading Blow, Rushing Blow, Healing Focus, Bombard, Mighty Blow, Eviscerate (unique), Pneuma Gale
Selection Quotes (Academy): "Balthus who? I’m the REAL King of Grappling!" (normal), "So that’s how you wanna play?!!" (mid-health), "I can go another round!" (critical health)
Ignis is the primary Brawler of the Cotton Candy Elephants. In addition to his strength with gauntlets, he is skilled with an axe and has a high growth rate in Reason, making him a perfect fit for the War Monk class (ironically, War Monk is used more for healing and Ignis has low growth rates for Faith). His best stats are Str, Def, and Res, and his Crest of Chevalier grants him the ability to wield Vajra-Mushti, a huge set of gauntlets with the combat art Eviscerate.
Ignis is a little tougher to build support with, but he's fun to enter into monthly tournaments. He has a rather large appetite, and a spicier palate that his classmates, so his favorite dishes are: Beast Meat Teppanyaki, Sautéed Jerky, Spicy Fish and Turnip Stew, Garreg Mach Meat Pie, Super Spicy Fish Dango, Gronder Meat Skewers, and Deirdru-Style Fried Pheasant. He has unique dialogue with Franz von Varley when dining. If you want to get him some gifts, Ignis prefers you give him a Whetstone, Smoked Meat, Training Weight, Exotic Spices, and a Ceremonial Sword. He has supports with everyone in his house, but outside of it, his supports are: Caspar, Dedue, Dimitri, Felix, Hilda, Raphael, Alois, Balthus, and Hapi. As for S-Support, he is locked to Female Byleth.
I imagine that if he fights Nemesis (either recruited into Golden Deer or ***SPOILER*** on his own route with Allegra), his unique dialogue when engaging him would be "So that's how you wanna play old man? Taking over Fódlan? Oh sure, we'll surrender, right after you witness this firestorm!!!" *throws either Ragnarok or Meteor, or proceeds to unleash Eviscerate with Vajra-Mushti*.
Fun Fact: Ignis is Latin for "fire", which suits his fiery temper. I had debated on using another name, Alaric von Bergliez, because I didn't want him confused with Ignatz at first, but then settled with Ignis von Albrecht just because I wanted him to wield Vajra-Mushti.
DO NOT REPOST!!! Also on deviantART

Noa "von ochs"
She was taken as child and experimented on by those who slither in the dark. Years after Hapis experimentation ended with her only being able to summon monsters, Noa was taken and used as second attempt to gain complete control over wild demonic beasts with the crest of Timotheas. She has some control over demonic beasts but at times they disobey her orders. She views the agarthans as her family though it is unclear if she has been tricked into it or not. She is placed in the black eagles class to master her crest and act as a backup informant and to get close to the general student population, masquerading as Monica Von Ochs younger sister.
I don't feel like typing all fancy anymore she's your average cringefail middle schooler who thinks they're super powerful and cool. Shes generally high energy and annoying despite being relatively smart. She has the magical skills to back up at her claims of power at least to some extent but once again she is very annoying about it
the part about being monicas "sister" might? be changed later since it wouldn't really work in hopes since monica becomes an actual character. it's just the only reason i could think of her to be planted in academy without causing suspicion but also everyone would end up being suspicious of her anyway after the kronya reveal but I don't have anyone to bounce ideas off of so fuck it we ball

“Nel.”
They thought she looked familiar, though between the explosions and the labyrinth and the void, there hadn't exactly been much time to spare for conversation. The labyrinth that is the underground town of Abyss, at least, is one where Yuri cannot lose their way. Lilac eyes settle heavy upon her with the weight of all that had transpired in that darkness before they blink, gaze clearing. Head tilts. “Busy? Well, even if you are, spare me a minute, yeah?”
Brows draw together, contemplative rather than accusatory, as they ponder the purpose of their seeking her out. The unspoken rule of Abyss is to not ask questions, but they're a bit beyond that now if she intended to keep her secrets hidden, considering what they'd seen. Well— what they think they had seen through the fog in their mind, but Yuri has to trust their senses. If they can't, then what can they trust?
“You're not human, are you?” The shadow library has plenty of interesting books for their perusal, shoved down there in the hopes that they would be far, far away from the surface's prying eyes. Some of them spin tales of ancient creatures, illustrate mythical and grotesque beasts— some which they know roam Fódlan as demonic beasts and have come running before at Hapi's sigh. And others still were...
Arms cross. Curiosity colors their tone as they continue, “What are you?”
lavender wisps and a keen, velvet voice. once more time finds them in a dark, enclosed space spun from mazelike corridors, only now quiet and devoid of urgency. seeing them, familiarity comes to her all at once, slowly — ushered by the context of their appearance in these surroundings. at the time, she had not thought of it too closely, for they had not spoken before, but this was yuri, whom she had heard sometime called master of abyss, sometime the deadly mockingbird, and had glimpsed herself only in passing.
it stands to reason that, dwelling she now in their territory, they were entitled to certain answers to ensure its safety.
they do her the courtesy of regarding her with curiosity, not suspicion, for which she reciprocates. but rather than confirm the first question, she waits for the inevitable second, allowing them the span with which to scrutinize her in an attempt to discern for themselves. only when they do not does she thereby volunteer.
"you are correct. i am a dragon."
as though reaching back through murky waters, she recalls that she had taken her original form very briefly at the end of their time in that labyrinth, when everything had already begun to go out of focus and the last of her strength had left her after the flooded corridor. whether yuri had already died by then . . . or if they both had already begun to merge with the blackness that afterward claimed and killed them — such details remain frustratingly out of reach.
"to be precise," she clarifies, "a fell one. of the world of elyos, now lost to ruin."
a candid question, as she has yet to fully ascertain how her kind is viewed here: "does this alarm you?"

Outline of fanfic I will never write. Open to adoption.
Secret Mission (19 BBY): Jocasta Nu decide to discovers who really commission the clones. Because the whole affair with Sifo-Dyas death is very fishi.
She hire Quinlan Vos and the bad batch (post echo recovery) to help her at the insistance of the council.
The investigation after the discovery of Sifo Dyas ship is a dead end.
Tech and Echo study the money trail with the jedis and they find something linking it to the banking clan and Hego Damask.
They explore his abandoned mentions, there is a lot of trap but they survive it, and discovers somethings interesting :
They discovers he is a sith
He has a lot of place in his name
A lots of theses places are uncharted or mythical
They found some data about his work who is not banking
They ask Nala Se her professional advice. It's groundbreaking in the studies of biologie and worrying in the lack of hetic (if a kaminoan think their hetic is bad it is very very bad).
Nala Se accept to came with them to studies Plagueis work. She take omega and Two alpha with her.
Jocasta decide to hire some civil archaeologist and professional liberator of ancient wonders to help with the recovery of everything in Plagueis possession. Phee Genoa (who will flirt with Teck like in canon) and The Aphra couple (with their 7 year old daughter, Chelli, who fast became friend with omega).
In the travel to the most dangerous place they meet Boba Fett and Bossk. Quinlan and Bossk make a deal and the two bounty hunter joint the mission. Boba and Omega don't stand each over but Bossk and Nala Se force them to work together. (Watch the ship and Chelli. Chelli will go explore against the adult wish. Boba (13) and Omega (12) are force to work together to find her. )
The adults explore all of Plagueis bases and discovers all his sith plans. It’s worse than they imagine. (And he has stole a lot of cultural important artefact so the archaeologist are furious.) They works generaly as two teams. Quinlan, Teck, Echo, the two Alpha and Nala Se study the experiments. Jocasta, Phee, the Aphra, Hunter, Crosshair and Wrecker study the artefact.
The last data they discovers is the civil name of Plagueis aprentice : Sheev Palpatine (All the other time he is just call Sidious or “the idiot I call apprentice” in his master report.)
Plagueis was a scientist. He take note on everything. It's very detailed.
All the plans :
The creation of the clone and droid armies. With detail plan for finance and logistic. And contingency plan for the case the droid army goes to the jedi and the clone to the separatist.
Experiment of mind control with chip in the brain (note to send result to his apprentice.) Nala Se is very disturb because it is so similar to the biochip the client ask them to put in the clone. The Jedi are not hapy with this revelation. Nala Se send a message to her minions in Kamino to look in this potentiel problem.
Experiment to create a sith who is born sith and don't need to fall. Decade of attempt. All fail. He send the mother and the child back after erasing their memory. He had follow the evolution of the childs and report in his notes most of them end in the jedi’s care. He describe his contingency plans to used them. He had use his apprentice as donor . Palpatine is the father of about 20 jedis. Include Obiwan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Cal Kestis. The hutts were the ones who give the mother to Plagueis.
Review of Maul training and how his apprentice had ruin a perfectly good potential sith.
Detailed plan to create a zombie plague
Detailed plan to use sith magic to force everybody in the galaxie to love him and give him power. (Test non conclusive. his apprentice says the obsessions create in the population will made their (the sith) live a living hell)
detailed plan to create an army of megafauna (sith purgil, sith zelo beast, sith ...)

How I beat Maddening Mode in the worst way I could come up with - Finale
Chapter 22 - or: No dawn without a Moon For the final chapter of the Verdant Wind route, I decide to do something special: I do not ignore all my options for this month. Instead, I finally recruit Anna, who by now significantly outlevels all of my units except Lysithea, use the cooking feature to give all of my units extra magic, and use Healing and the Online features to grind EXP and have Bernadetta master the Sniper class. After this, I start the final battle, where Nemesis, some guy from 1000 years ago, has randomly returned and wants to get a beating. I first take care of the enemies surrounding my start location by trading the Viskam around, and then have Lysithea and Hapi move towards Odesse. He is able to summon Demonic beasts, which would pose a major threat to my units. I take care of the initial one by defeating it with Bernadetta's newly learned Hunter's Volley, and then have Lysithea (who is now a Dark Knight) and Hapi (who is now a Valkyrie) kill Odesse. From there, I just slowly take down the enemies until only Nemesis, Fraldarius, and Riegan remain. They are by far the most dangerous enemies. I first take out Riegan with the Viskam, but this also causes Fraldarius to start moving. She is a Falcon Knight with a lot of Resilience, and her Relic weapon also provides her with Aegis and Pavise. Defeating her takes a lot of Viskam trading as well as Claude and Bernadetta, but I manage to reduce the enemy count down to one, that being Nemesis himself. After positioning my units, I use the catapult near him to lure him off of his heal tile and cause him to move toward me. Unfortunately, Lysithea's Luna spell is not quite strong enough to kill him, which forces me to use my other units to get some damage on him first. I first use Bernadetta with Hunter's Volley, and then Catherine with Thunderbrand. Both deal some damage, but when Nemesis conterattacks Catherine, his Crest causes him to regain all the HP he lost. However, after a lot of fighting and one final Luna spell, I finally defeated Nemesis, ending my Maddening run in a victory for the Golden Deer.

Recommended Text for Meditation: Liber VII (Liber Liberi vel Lapdis Lazuli), cap. VI
Liber Liberi vel Lapidus Lazuli
Adumbratio Kabbalae Aegyptiorum
sub Figura VII, ch. VI
VI
1. Thou wast a priestess, O my God, among the Druids; and we knew the powers of the oak.
2. We made us a temple of stones in the shape of the Universe, even as thou didst wear openly and I concealed.
3. There we performed many wonderful things by midnight.
4. By the waning moon did we work.
5. Over the plain came the atrocious cry of wolves.
6. We answered; we hunted with the pack.
7. We came even unto the new Chapel and Thou didst bear away the Holy Graal beneath Thy Druid vestments.
8. Secretly and by stealth did we drink of the informing sacrament.
9. Then a terrible disease seized upon the folk of the grey land; and we rejoiced.
10. O my God, disguise Thy glory!
11. Come as a thief, and let us steal away the Sacraments!
12. In our groves, in our cloistral cells, in our honeycomb of happiness, let us drink, let us drink!
13. It is the wine that tinges everything with the true tincture of infallible gold.
14. There are deep secrets in these songs. It is not enough to hear the bird; to enjoy song he must be the bird.
15. I am the bird, and Thou art my song, O my glorious galloping God!
16. Thou reinest in the stars; thou drivest the constellations seven abreast through the circus of Nothingness.
17. Thou Gladiator God!
18. I play upon mine harp; Thou fightest the beasts and the flames.
19. Thou takest Thy joy in the music, and I in the fighting.
20. Thou and I are beloved of the Emperor.
21. See! he has summoned us to the Imperial dais. The night falls; it is a great orgy of worship and bliss.
22. The night falls like a spangled cloak from the shoulders of a prince upon a slave.
23. He rises a free man!
24. Cast thou, O prophet, the cloak upon these slaves!
25. A great night, and scarce fires therein; but freedom for the slave that its glory shall encompass.
26. So also I went down into the great sad city.
27. There dead Messalina bartered her crown for poison from the dead Locusta; there stood Caligula, and smote the seas of forgetfulness.
28. Who wast Thou, O Caesar, that Thou knewest God in an horse?
29. For lo! we beheld the White Horse of the Saxon engraven upon the earth; and we beheld the Horses of the Sea that flame about the old grey land, and the foam from their nostrils enlightens us!
30. Ah! but I love thee, God!
31. Thou art like a moon upon the ice-world.
32. Thou art like the dawn of the utmost snows upon the burnt-up flats of the tiger's land.
33. By silence and by speech do I worship Thee.
34. But all is in vain.
35. Only Thy silence and Thy speech that worship me avail.
36. Wail, O ye folk of the grey land, for we have drunk your wine, and left ye but the bitter dregs.
37. Yet from these we will distil ye a liquor beyond the nectar of the Gods.
38. There is value in our tincture for a world of Spice and gold.
39. For our red powder of projection is beyond all possibilities.

48. Yea! all the world is split apart, as an old grey tree by the lightning!
49. Come, O ye gods, and let us feast.
50. Thou, O my darling, O my ceaseless Sparrow-God, my delight, my desire, my deceiver, come Thou and chirp at my right hand!
51. This was the tale of the memory of Al A'in the priest; yea, of Al A'in the priest.
Love is the law, love under will.

FINAL BATTLE August 26th - 31st
…Kass curses as the large crystal shocks him yet again. It’s only after a handful of times he realizes he has an audience. “...Ah.”
He turns to face the crowd. “So, you all made it! I hope you won’t forget who helped ya through! Hehe.” He glances away. Makes another grab for the crystal. Curses in some foreign language when, once more, it zaps him good. He turns to Cube. “Can’t you do somethin’ ya bucket o’ bolts?”
Cube 2.0 chuckles. “ You took until now to Ask, Master Kassian. Beep boop. ”
With a spin, a link of energy crackles toward the machine holding the crystal and with a sudden loud hum, it falls quiet the the thing near falls to the ground before Kass dives to grab it, shielding it from hitting the ground. Scrabbling to his feet, he dusts himself off. “Whew! Look at this baby!”
You’re fairly certain it’s what you’re here for. Like. What else could it be?
He turns to you all, casually tucking the vibrating orb of energy under his arm. He half turns to leave, though there’s no door in the direction he’s facing. “Well, s’been a slice folks! Don’t forget to lock the door on your way out, yeah?”
There’s at least one in your number that draws a weapon on him. Oh. So much for that, huh. “Hey hey heeyyyy,” he cajoles, brows upturning, his axe hand waving innocently. “We’re pals now ain’t we? Been through thick and thin back there... And I did help you out, lest you forget. And your church pals back in Ailell too.” Never mind that he probably woulda died on his own here. Shhhh. “... Put that thing away yeah? Pretty please?” Oh no, not the puppydog eyes... ! It’s... not very effective.
“I can... help you guys get out of here, yeah? And... you were here after some information, yeah? I could--”
The ground shakes and yet doesn’t. It’s that same disorienting feeling from earlier, when the world was pulled from beneath your feet. A circle of light surges to life at your feet and you all start to float, even Kass and Cube -- but as you near the circle overhead, you make it out, and they don’t. Level Five fades away, and in its place, darkness. You can see your comrades. You can somehow see Garreg Mach from an impossible distance, that same all-encompassing thing from before looming overhead.
Setting: ???
What you know:
Rion told you to prepare.
Rion told you he’d be back for one last game.
This is it.
What to do:
Check out your team’s combat doc to see what you’re up against
Fight.
. . .
. . .
Once upon a time,
Gofannon, the Eagle of the North, screamed ancient curses through a bird’s tongue. To its creators... that they be eaten alive, picked over like carrion by every beast in Sreng, aware of every dying breath they take. To humanity... that they all answer for their sinful greed, that they all stand helplessly as everything they hold dear is torn from their arms. And to you, the ones that. . .
. . .
Once upon a time,
Sophrosyne, the Chelonian of the West, accepted its defeat, parting with a swan song, a low bellow thanking you for ending its suffering. . . The waves crashed onto its lifeless body, cracking the shell easily as if it were made from glass. One by one its offspring did the very same, letting out a loud cry before the waves tore them apart.
. . .
And today, they rise anew in this strange other world, in a different life. Perhaps you have forgotten them. Perhaps you have remembered them. They do not remember you.
Perhaps they are toys. Perhaps they are willing.
Regardless, they bar your way forward.

Premonition
Since you were young you’ve dreamed of your death. You watch yourself being stabbed in your stomach. Your eyes follow the dagger coming for you. At first it is from your point of view. As you get older, you watch from the views of others watching your death. You don’t see your whole self nor your clothes. Just your skin, you know its your skin, your stomach, and the knife. Everything else is misty.
You sign up for the Officers Academy at Garreg Mach to learn how to defend yourself and fight bandits, useful as you come from a family of merchants in Conand territory. You are welcomed into the Blue Lions, becoming good friends with everyone in the house. You love having professor Byleth as your teacher. Then the war begins, and everyone goes home. You reunite briefly with your parents. They are too old to fight, so they leave for Morfis or Almyra, somewhere not in the middle of a war. You take what they cannot sell, returning to the ruins of Garreg Mach, and descend into Abyss.
The Ashen Wolves are happy to have you. Yuri sells and trades the goods from your parents for essentials to keep Abyss fed and healthy. The Wolves are still fighting alongside the kingdom, having joined their house once they were discovered. Their war is underground and in the shadows. You frequently are out with one if not all of them running a covert operation to disrupt Imperial forces, stealing enemy supplies and generally make things difficult for Edelgard.
Several times a month you dream of the dagger slicing into your stomach. The vision has changed since you were younger. You watch skin being sliced, the blood quickly flowing like a waterfall down your abdomen. You stand in the grass outside on an overcast day. You can identify the angle of the dagger. You think the wielder is right handed and aiming straight for your heart.
Yuri is contacted by a small band of fighters from Duscur. You assist sneaking them through the kingdom, helping to get them into the dungeons of Fhirdiad before the enemy can execute Dimitri. You escort them until they are out of the city. Dedue is hurt in the mission, you must leave before you know how serious his injuries were. Dimitri is in the worst shape of any of them, but his injuries aren’t all physical.
Yuri then sends you and Balthus out to Riegan territory to work with Claude on a mission. It is good to see the Deer’s leader and even better to hear that he feels he owes something to the kingdom.
You are sent on fighting missions, spying missions, covert missions, trading and food recovery operations. The imperials killed the local chicken farmer. You think it’s a terrible shame to leave all of those chickens to starve. Trying to hide from the Empire’s army in a heavily wooded forest with bags of noisy chickens is one of the more challenging recent jobs. It’s worth it. Abyss now has a chicken coop well below the cathedral, under the long high bridge. Bandits don’t make it down there frequently, so they have a good steady supply of eggs for feeding the residents.
Five years is a long time when you look back at it. This war seems to never end. There is always fighting, fires, thefts, murders. The borders of the countries on maps are blurred, constantly moving, yet not moving at all.
Yuri has the wolves +1 head topside. Today is the day of the Millennium festival. You run up a hill and are thrilled to see a mop of red hair coming into view as you maneuver over the rise. You run to stand alongside Felix and Sylvain just as they are being attacked by bandits. Everyone’s showing off their new skills, taking down enemies with ease. Quickly Annette and Mercedes join the group, Hapi bringing them into view. In a matter of minutes bandits are dead and the group is reunited. The most surprising detail is that Byleth is back! There are tears of joy and grateful sighs. Dimitri is there, but he’s doing worse than the last time you had seen him. He stomps off to the remains of the Cathedral. There is a huge presence missing as you all are still standing in the grass and weeds of the fields. Dedue has not returned.
The Blue Lions make the monastery their base. They clean up and begin to rebuild Garreg Mach. As soon as the training grounds are functional, Felix is after you to spar with him. You always had a great time fighting with him. He was always serious, so intense. You had laughed at him then, always telling him to loosen up. Now honing your skills is absolutely necessary. There are no requests to go easy. Only to fight, to learn, to get better and be better than the next enemy that could stand before you.
Both of you have changed greatly over the time spent apart. You are both stronger, faster than you were so long ago. He looks more muscular than he was in the past. He’s also taller. As the fight continues his strikes are still strong, straight and true. Your strikes become more ruthless, fighting more with your survival instincts than beauty and finesse, just like your enemies have been fighting you for all these years.
Felix forces you backwards and you suddenly find yourself against a wall. His sword is at your throat.
“Hah.” You smirk, glancing to your left.
“Yield.” The master swordsman nearly spits, shoving the point of the sword into your chin.
You smack him on the shoulder with a ball of fire in your hand, flames flashing out in every direction, breaking his concentration. You then cast lightning at him, the shock of the electricity forcing him to let go of his sword. You hit him with mire just as he hits you with lightning, the force of the spells crashing and sending you both flying backwards a few feet, landing flat on your asses.
He looks angry enough to spit nails. You start to giggle then give a full hearty laugh. You smile because you haven’t laughed like that in a long time.
Begrudgingly he walks over and offers a hand to help you off the ground.
Just as you pick up your sword you hear the word that makes your heart leap.
“Again!”
The day is overcast when the Empire attacks the monastery again. It is a difficult fight, so many are injured, however Byleth & Dimitri’s army is successful in defending the academy. Byleth’s presence makes a huge difference for everyone.
Your dreams are every 2 or 3 days now. They have transitioned again, becoming longer and more detailed. You can tell that there are two larger shapes around you. You see your hands reaching for your stomach, your fingers are already bruised and bloodied. It hurts, starting with a sting then feeling the blade go deeper and pain is completely washing over you. The pain is what wakes you. You cannot go back to sleep with this going on inside your head.
Dimitri is a mess holed up in the Cathedral, you decide go to visit him after your premonition.
“Have you come to stare and mock the beast?” The Prince growls.
“No. But quite often you refer to yourself as a dead man. I understand that. I will be dead soon too. I’ve always dreamed of my death. The older I get, the more frequently I dream of it. I’m getting close. Figured the dead should hang out together.”
“I need no others to die for me.” The giant man mumbles.
“I believe in what we are fighting for. I believed in your father. I wont haunt you Dimitri. If I get a choice to haunt anyone, I’ll go to Enbarr and torment Hubert and Edelgard.”
Dimitri doesn’t laugh. He only stands before you quietly as you get up to leave him. You recognize him as one of the figures in your dreams. Silently you remove yourself, walking aimlessly around the grounds.
As per the orders of the War Council, everyone marches to Ailell to gain more troops. They are attacked by Gwendal, the Gray lion. Fighting in battles is hard enough, but when the ground is hot enough to cook a steak, it’s nearly impossible. Your sword feels like it is red hot through your gloves. Still you hold on to your weapon tightly, bringing the enemies to their knees. Rodrigue arrives just in time to assist in taking down Gwendal. The old knight looks relieved at finally finding death. The Duke and his additional troops are sorely needed and join Dimitri’s army. It takes days to get the smell of burnt flesh out of your nostrils.
Everyone heads back to the monastery. You are walking among the wagons when Rodrigue rides by on his horse. You glance his way and nod. Then you stop. Looking at the Duke of Fraldarius, seeing his shadow revealed by the light of the setting sun, you recognize another shape from your dreams.
You are up early every day now. Felix spars with you all morning. Sometimes you spar with him in the afternoon, or head to Abyss to work out with the Wolves. You become more restless with each passing day. If you can’t train with your sword you run, run until your lungs are on fire. Anything to keep yourself moving. You eat, you sleep, or at least try to. Sometimes you fall asleep while eating. Nobody really notices, it seems to be a common occurrence. The joys of war.
The next battle is for the great bridge at Myrrdin over the Aramid river. Ladislava holds control of the bridge and taunts the Blue Lions. Dimitri is screaming for her head in addition to Edelgard’s. The fight has barely begun, you are in the back sending magic after enemy forces when the sound of heavy knights came from behind. You turn to see…Dedue!!! He runs up to Dimtiri, ready to fight for his side. The Blue Lions are extremely energized, they decimate the enemy troops on the bridge. Ladislava is defeated in record time. Everyone is overjoyed that they have cut off the Empire from obtaining any further supplies from the north. Most importantly, they are whole and happily celebrate Dedue’s return.
Every night. Every freaking night the dreams are tormenting you. You dream of an overcast day. They are there, standing on the grass-- Dimitri, Rodrigue, and one other person in front of you. You are out of breath. The dagger appears, you reach for your stomach, a gash in your shirt, pulling at the dagger with your bruised and bloody hands, blood flowing out of you like a river. You scream…and wake up.
You head to the training grounds to practice with Felix. He notices. Your swings are careless, ruthless, the look in your eyes is wild.
“Hey!” He grabs you by your collar, choking you slightly. “Don’t go full boar on me. We need you.”
You spit and stare at the ground. Taking a deep breath you finally answer, “Okay.”
You spar with him but hold yourself back. You need to keep yourself in control. It’s so difficult when the end is so near.
You join Annette and Mercedes in the kitchens baking cookies. You pay way too much for spices for cookies, but it’s not like you need the money much longer. You leave a small box of the not too sweet, heavily spiced cookies at Felix’s door. You hand out a few cookies to each of the Blue Lions that you meet. You can’t forget your friends in Abyss and send a box of cookies their way as well.
Running to the Cathedral you see Dimitri standing at his pile of rubble. He even acknowledges your presence. You are grateful that Dedue and Rodrigue are here for him. You thank him for his leadership and for everything he has done for you and the Lions. You leave as suddenly as you appeared. He looks a bit confused.
Heading to the marketplace, you stop by the armorer and pick up your custom chainmail shirt. It is heavy and goes past your hips. You wear it under your tunic everywhere you go. You even start running with it on, it becomes your second skin.
The army is on the march. They are prepared for the encounter with the Empire’s forces. They have good intel that the Alliance may be sending their army to meet with them as well. You hope that Dimitri and Claude can talk before so that they can work together to take down Edelgard, however the Alliance Lord has not responded to any of Byleth’s requests. You think that there is a spy that must have intercepted them. Claude would have joined you, you know that.
The army stops for a break. There is a large stream nearby and you bathe quickly to get some of the dirt and dust of the road removed. The call to resume marching is much too quick, you grab your clothes and struggle into them as you take your place in the procession.
The three armies converge on a single point. How appropriate that it should be Gronder Field. Just as you are heading to take your position, you realize something is missing. Your vest is hanging on a branch back at the stream. You remind yourself to pick it up on the way back.
The horns of battle sound and you are running towards the enemy, teeth gritted and sword at the ready. The Empire’s soldiers are getting closer by the second. The battle is a blur. You take out enemy soldiers left and right with the flash of your blade. If you can’t cut through their armor, you cook them inside it with fire or electrocute them with lightning. You are part of the main surge of fighters, creeping closer and closer to Edelgard. You hear Dimitri screaming for his revenge. To help him you fire spells at Hubert while stabbing Empire fighters, hoping that your spells can break his concentration away from defending the Emperor.
Dimitri screams as Edelgard retreats, Hubert warping the pair of them away. There are still a few Empire soldiers and you strike them with lightning. Rodrigue rides up to the Prince, dismounting so he can check his wounds. Just as Rodrigue stands next to Dimitri, you look to the right and a young girl is screaming and breaking free from a kingdom knight. She runs towards the two men, screaming about getting even and revenge. Your feet are moving before your mind can catch up, you can’t let her get to them. She sounds insane with rage, demanding revenge for her brother’s death. You drop your weapons to help you gain more speed, she is pulling out a dagger. You’re not sure if she is targeting the prince or the duke. She takes a swing at Rodrigue, slicing into his coat, then pulling her weapon back again to thrust it into his side. You are there, putting yourself between the dark haired man and the ruthless girl. You are grabbing at the weapon, however her deathgrip on the dagger doesn’t loosen, she’s going to kill someone, anyone and she thrusts the dagger into you. Dimitri quickly reacts, bringing Ahredbahr down upon the enraged girl, ending her life.
You reach for the blade with your already bloody hands having fought all day in the battle, you are trying to remove the knif, your fingers slick with your own blood flowing out from your side like a river. You suddenly feel too weak to pull it out. Your legs are giving out underneath you. You feel your body falling. Dimitri and Rodrigue are yelling. There is so much noise, then the buzzing in your ears takes over, the darkness begins to cloud your vision, you recall only a little light in the center showing Rodrigue’s pleading face before everything is black.
You open your eyes but they do not want to focus. You lift your head and it falls back to the pillow, being overcome with dizzyness. There are a multitude of voices, some are shouting, all of them speaking all at once. You want to cover your head and make it all go away, its too much. You lift your hands but they are so weak you drop them. You welcome the darkness as it takes you in.
Things are quieter now. A woman’s voice softly speaks. “Are you awake dear. Nod for yes.”
You pull your chin down, you can’t lift your head much, you feel so incredibly weak. You want to open your eyes but that feels impossibly difficult.
The voice says we’re going to prop you up so you can drink something. It will make you feel better.
Hands from both sides lift your shoulders to tuck a pillow beneath you and then under your head. You grimace at the pain but it stops quickly. You feel a small bottle brought to your lips. You take a little sip, your mouth is so dry it feels cool and wet.
She is telling you to swallow. Ohh, cool on your throat. You open your mouth for more. They let you have a few more sips.
You fall back into a deep sleep.
You waken the next morning hearing the deep voice of Rodrigue advising the healers that you are awake.
“It is good to see that you are still with us.” The Duke smiles.
“How.. how am I not dead?” You gasp, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Since she was prevented from killing me, I was able to heal you. I am a Holy Knight of the Kingdom you know. I was able to heal you, stopping your bleeding as quickly as I could. We then brought you back here. I will notify Dimitri of your recovery, he will be most pleased.
“Thank you for saving me.” You whisper.
“It is I who must thank you. If it wasn’t for your quick intervention, I would not be here.” Duke Fraldarius smiles widely at you.
The clerics check you over, allowing you to sit up. Eventually you feel well enough to clean up and even have visitors.
One by one the lions come to visit. A pile of gifts and flowers begins to accumulate on the table next to the bed.
Felix arrives and shoos everyone away bringing you dinner, which is thin oatmeal. Bestest oatmeal you have had in a long time. While you eat Felix stays to keep you company.
“Oh. I talked to my old man.” Felix says as he fiddles with a piece of loose leather on a belt. “We’re going to try to talk to each other more. That’s a start right?” He asks as he looks at you.
“That’s great. I think you guys are lucky to get a second chance. Not that things will be perfect, but better.” You say as you finish your dinner.
“Have you had that weird dream any more?” The swordsman wonders out loud.
You think, “No. It was every single day and now nothing. I thought for sure it was my death.” Your voice trails off.
“Maybe you get a second chance too.” Felix almost smiles as he takes your empty bowl away.

I just noticed that the Three Houses ending card database has updated with all the DLC characters. Some interesting observations:
Jeritza has paired endings with Balthus and Constance, and marries the latter in what sounds like an entirely mundane affair with no concern for that whole known serial killer business. Honestly that says more about her than about him. Also Edelgard’s cronyism, but that was already known - it’s still just his Mercedes ending that says Jeritza was in any way punished for his crimes.
The no homo for Claude/Balthus comes in the form of Balthus marrying Nader’s previously unmentioned daughter. Odder still, the ending doesn’t follow up the “joke” of their support line about Balthus wanting Claude’s mother.
The Constance/Ferdinand ending only mentions children outside of CF. This says to me one of two things I basically already knew: 1) CF’s happy ending is shorter-lived than the other two, and/or 2) with Hubert alive to tend to Ferdinand’s Huge Hole in CF Constance functions as his beard. I’m sure they get along wonderfully considering their personalities are nearly identical out of the sun.
Constance/Mercedes meanwhile sounds like another one of those late-in-life lesbians situations like Anncedes, even using the “like family” line seen in the Dimidue ending.
Hapi’s epithet changes based on her ending. In her solo and Balthus ending it’s “Beast Master,” while in her other paired endings it’s “Freed Spirit.” One could take this as an indication of who helps her find a cure for her sighing problem. Balthus just beats them all up whenever they come I guess.

The biggest issue that I see that few others note is that while the execution of Claude here is lousy, if the devs and story framed this as Claude diving headfirst into ignorance/perceived superiority and becoming little better than the Emperor, then that'd make the experience a bit less sour...but the devs had instead intended it to be a "celebration" of him being "ambitious," which in turn is reflected in his costume, which is only less nonsensical as Egg's sailor uniform armor reflecting her being "free" and "happier." If anything, his outfit should reflect him veering towards a worse path - the darker colors, the lack of diversity in it (his Wyvern Master outfit has both Fodlanese and Almyran elements), keeping his weird Padawan braid (Seriously, what the fuck are Almyran braids, IntSys???).
Going by how Claude behaves in this game, if they did bother to acknowledge Cyril, I'd bank on him earnestly thinking Cyril got "indoctrinated" and he'd try to make him see the "error" of not liking poor innocent little uwu Almyra his ways. This would, naturally, either work, and we'd get a Cyril who's as shattered about being force-recruited like Ashe is in GW and SB, or Claude would just off the guy and no one would comment on it - doubly so since there's zero mention of the Gonerils keeping Almyran slaves + Almyra kidnapping and making child soldiers.
Should the topic come up at all in a hypothetical Nopes Support, Claude, being ignorant, would probably empathically deny Cyril's experience...and much like how Hubert placates Hapi's discomfort over him wanting to use her condition (the sighs that summon Demonic Beasts) by dangling cups of coffee at her, Claude would probably pull something similar and all would be fine. Seriously, a lot of the Hopes Supports kind of do that???
What the devs intend and how they present it is the Fodlan games' biggest problem, in the end.
My main issue with Claude's motivations in Hope's is his specific needs with the Church don't really make much sense even in a vacuum. Like going off just what we're presented in his own route in Hopes, blaming them for Fodlan's xenophobia makes no sense since we're shown Almyra has the same attitudes (via his brother no less, so he should know), and blaming them for the existence of hereditary kingship is especially odd since he's the prince of a hereditary kingship
Hopes tells us basically that Almyra is split on Fodlan. That in itself is fine, but Fodlan isn’t really different from that. He blames the Church for it though, and like I’ve mentioned in the past, it just doesn’t make sense. I’m not sure how he can come to that conclusion other than being ignorant of Fodlan itself. Faerghus had been trying to get friendly with other places since Lambert’s reign and the Church could’ve told him they didn’t want that.
I agree about Almyra‘s kingship though. It feels kind of like he just wants to create a Fodlan that isn’t like his home, and it feels… odd. It feels more odd that in Houses he goes back to Almyra and takes the throne, so I mean… he’s aware he’s in line and competing for it and that his bloodline makes him able to do that. Also, Petra is living the same type of kingship, so… not really sure why Fodlan is getting the blame for the existence of a very, very common type of way of ruling.
Just blaming the Church for everything won’t solve all of Fodlan’s problems. I get that his alliance with Edelgard is a means to prevent the Alliance from struggling further, but also that if Edelgard doesn’t end her war after Rhea is gone that she clearly had more going for her war than just the Church. It’s just that Claude isn’t the type to be ignorant and stay that way. If he was lacking knowledge, he would seek it. Considering that’s a core part of his character, it feels wrong to have that removed.
I also don’t like the fact that he can kill Cyril. I think that bugs me more than anything else. The fact that he just doesn’t even question why an Almyran is fighting for Rhea specifically (not even just the Church, but Rhea, who is his main target) bothers me a lot, but also the fact that like… he sees an Almyran living in Fodlan and doesn’t question it and is willing to kill that Almyran just to kill Rhea. I could be remembering wrong i.e. Cyril dying in that fight, but I recall him dying? But his relationship with Cyril as one of the only Almyrans in Fodlan was an important thing for him in Houses and I feel like him seeing Cyril fighting for Rhea in GW should have been enough to make him hesitate and question what he was doing.
To me Claude just feels too aggressive in Hopes. There’s a difference between things happening in people’s lives that would diverge their choices and motivations, but changing key aspects of their personality makes it less enjoyable for a story overall. It doesn’t help that he closely works alongside the Church in Houses and uses Garreg Mach as their base. Hopes Claude feels more like he stays willfully ignorant and it doesn’t feel like him.
#few3h diskhorse#ya boi cyril#clob von riggles#even in 3h i never liked their support#because claude doesnt feel earnest in his apologies#its more like him placating#because hes rarely that earnest in his apologies until much later in the game#like ‟oh nooo ill tell on daddy itll be fine‟#granted claude placating in order to not be hated is an inherent part of himself but he shouldve benefitted from some reflection#it really hurts him on VW
