The mindset that babies are easy infuriates me so much. And it really boils down to: IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD A CHILD, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND

Babies cry for a MULTITUDE of reasons. My daughter once cried for 5 minutes straight because I sneezed. It’s usually not as simple as milk, diaper change, or comfort. (Though of course, these are pretty big reasons for crying to)

And with that, can we STOP expecting mothers to be able to magically calm their crying babies right away? Can we STOP shaming moms whose babies cry for more than a minute, especially when you can SEE mom clearly trying to calm and comfort her baby? I can GUARANTEE to you that any mother in that situation feels a million times more embarrassed, awkward, annoyed/frustrated than you do! And guess what?

BABIES DESERVE RESPECT LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN BEING! Babies deserve some damn grace and the ability to feel their feelings without adults trying to shut them up out of inconvenience! Fear, hunger, frustration, being uncomfortable, separation anxiety from mom, these are all HUGE feelings for a baby to have!

Babies are complex.

“Babies only cry if they are hungry, need changing, or need to be picked up”

Babies (and small children) also cry for reasons such as:

1. “I am tired and that makes me angry”

2. “I scared myself with a fart”

3. “You are the wrong parent”

4. “I ran into something with my face”

5. “I’m facing the opposite direction then the one I want to”

6. “I fell asleep in one place and woke up somewhere completely different”

7. “I am a very small person in a very big world”

8. “I got scared because YOU farted”

Babies have more then 3 states of being and sometimes you just have to hold them and bounce them gently while saying solemnly “yes it is very hard to be a baby” because frankly it is

When I say that leftists are completely unwilling to meet democrats in the middle, I don’t mean ideologically. what I mean is that people are not willing to do even the barest amount of work to find out what’s going on and why. Like they will screammm about how democrats aren’t doing enough and then it turns out they don’t even know what democrats are doing in the first place. And they will howlll about how democrats aren’t left wing enough and then it turns out they don’t even know when they are or what their positions are. And then they get mad like ‘they should have been more vocal’ when the information was there for you to read in the newspaper this whole time! Like the current crop of leftists demands not that information be available to find out, but that it be personally placed in front of them and them *specifically* because finding things out for themselves would be too hard. And then they also can’t stand when democrats fundraise

Scenario: a sample of your DNA was taken, popped into a cell, and cloned into a baby, gestated in a sci-fi artificial womb vat. The first time you or anyone in your family meets this baby is after it has already been born out of said vat. You can hold the newborn if you want, it's up to you, but it is a living breathing baby that was cloned from your DNA and is genetically identical to you.
