Ya know what, fine, let me say it nicer.

Not every Link that is referred to by the title names (ie,, Legend, Twi, Time etc) is LinkedUniverse. These nicknames existed long before LU, most were popularized by Link and the Links AU.

If a creator did not tag their post or caption their post with LU, do not add the tag to your reblog. Do not go into peoples' comments on their Links Meet trope au fics and say "what a great linkeduniverse au!"

You aren't doing anything but 1). Making yourself look like a fucking prick, 2). Pissing off creators who rightfully dont want to be involved with LU/do not want their original content labelled as such. LU is not the end all be all, and its certainly not tje first LOZ au that has used the Links Meet trope and you guys have GOT to stop treating it as such and claiming that no one else can make an original comic for this trope because it MUST be based off of LU.

@gintrinsic-writing is phenomenal. A gem. I love all of it, but check the tags to find ones you're comfortable with. AO3 Blood Like Yours is my personal favorite, and the sequel Like Fire in Your Veins by @pocketramblr are both about Hyrule's Blood Curse from Adventures of Link. M for Violence for most of them, but check tags to be sure. If you like it, consider also...

Protector of the Golden Power by Sillus Hyrule centric but he has a different secret.

@somer-writes has a lot of great short one shots, some darker than others. My personal favorite is a sort of character study of the boys at their lowest and how they recover called "Depletion"

And Still the Cradle Blooms by Solistrix: GORGEOUS literary masterpiece. The writing is unreal. It's descriptions and emotions are incredible. This is more like finding the meaning in eventual death, so of the three here I suspect you'll like this one best as far as not being too hurt by the character's mentioned end.

This is an Adjuration: I'll be real, this is full of action and excitement but yes, it has MCD and is making me cry, but it's also REEEEAAALLY good!

Blood Drops on Roses by HotCheetohatred Fantastic storytelling! Wild centric, Twi is big brother but from day one of Wild's journey. Unreliable young Wild as narrator is an absolute delight. Unfinished, no MCD yet, but it's in the tags so no promises.

Fanfic Rec Friday

Today's fic rec is "The Scarred Kid" by kenna_the_antenna on Ao3 (18 chapters, ongoing.) This one is recommended by me. :)

Ao3 Summary

Wild is just trying to go home after a long trip. He doesn't think that's too much to ask for, but one freaky wizzrobe throws his plans down the drain. Now he's stuck as a kid and eight weirdos all named Link won't leave him alone. Based off of JoJo56830's LinkedUniverse Au

My thoughts: All in all a great time. It's has funny moments and emotional moments. There's just something so great about small gremlin child Botw Link and the rest of the gang trying to deal with him.

Welcome! This is an accessible novelization of the Linked Universe comic (@linkeduniverse) so that Jojo’s incredible creation can be shared with more people. What is LU? Answer: LU is the shorthand nickname for Linked Universe. LU is a Links Meet AU in which nine Links from different Legend of Zelda games meet and travel together to defeat a great evil.

A few yeah! I don’t get invested in too many since I get overwhelmed if I start getting into too many AUs and things, but here’s a couple I enjoy :)

@linkeduniverse of course, an amazing comic and one of the main reasons I even have a tumblr blog

@linked-maze is a really fun comic, lots of great designs and a really intriguing story so far! I love the art in this one very much.

@changeling-rin has an au titled Dimensional Links, which if you have not read then I suggest you go do immediately. The fic is in the process of being rewritten at the moment, but it’s so funny and every chapter is worth its weight in gold. Here’s the fic!

@linkbetweenlinksau is another comic! Fantastic designs and distinct fun characters, and a comic that so far is very fun(ny) and interesting. I’m excited to see more :)

@losttolegend by my friend mythic is in early stages yet, but what there is very well done. Obviously lots of thought put into designs and nicknames and things <3

Firstly I saw you call my the 'patron saint of research' and I am honoured. I will wear that title with pride.

Mostly I just like discussing hyperspecific topics because you can learn some interesting things that way. I now have more information on beaks than I will ever need again (like how fruit eating birds have a way more pronounced curve in their beak than meat eating birds. I doubt I'll ever need to know that again). It's fun for me, and for many of my friends, so we'll spend hours on completely random topics just, learning.

And your comment on Bird Sky and steaks makes me giggle considering eating bone marrow, and getting to said bone marrow, is probably even more violent looking, which is probably an equally funny mental image to me.

Also this AU has easily slotted itself into my mind and now lives there rent free. And it's hijacked all of my creative functions. So while I'm very invested in and curious about whatever Bo is doing with it, I might end up writing a thing too, just so I can get my ability to think about my other projects back sooner.

I consider myself a visual person but there’s still a lot I miss, even on a second or third read (My Zelda knowledge isn’t that deep but I’m learning!) So your connections about the little details help me to enjoy the comic even more!

TIME AND FOUR

Time and four time and four time and four-

I reallyyyyyy want Time and Four to go together in the dungeon even though the chances are iffy. Maybe if I want it hard enough it'll happen XP

Even if they don't go together, I really want Time and Four's relationship to develop more in the comic. Here's why-

First of all, Time and Four fight really well together. Time is also just really good at fighting with the shoter ones overall

THEN THERE'S this part in Doodles part 3 that has me convinced Time knows Four's secret with the Four sword

I'm pretty sure it's Time's voice saying 'you never cease to impress me little one', and Jojo (I think? need to check) said all these older sketches are considered canon so yeah. I'm impatient because I want clarification and to know if Time knows about the four sword or not

Four is also insanely emotionally mature and intuitive, and at this point I think he is the best person to be there for Time when he's so upset after Twilight's injury. Time has never underestimated Four so they make a great team

I'm not sure if you wanted on full on analysis response, but there you are. I really want Time and Four's relationship to get explored more because it matters to me hehe
