Happy belated birthday! Just wanted to hop in again saying I love your posts about Wolf 359. They’re all so good.
I’m on a relisten again and am at the end of season 3. And I’m thinking about how fascinating it is that Hera remembered the Thanksgiving with her at the table physically. And in a post if yours I read recently or you posted recently you talked about Hera getting a human body and I think that scene kinda hints at maybe wanting to be physically there? Idk.
If you’re up for it you can share your thoughts on this. I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and leave you with some of my Wolf 359 thoughts.
Sending you good vibes over the internet.
thank you; you're always so sweet!! 💙
we're absolutely on the same wavelength here, too!! that scene in particular is a big reason why i feel like hera would want a body - what it says about her self-perception, sense of physicality (even without experience to contextualize it), and... as a result, that she experiences physical loneliness. and, notably, that all of those things are subconscious framing in what she misremembers. i've posted about that scene before here, and in my... way too long essay about hera here, which i'll try to paraphrase a bit. and in other places, too, probably! i think about it a lot.
so: i think there's a big difference between existing differently (which can be isolating in itself, but... through lack of understanding) and feeling like she's always being kept away from the others - somewhere else, physically. she clearly conceptualizes herself in that space as within the hephaestus, separate from it and the systems she runs, the same as everyone else. that's the difference between "other people need to change their attitudes" and... well, other people still need to change their attitudes, but there is also something fundamental about her circumstances that she's unhappy with and needs to change.
(and, obviously, like... because you know i see hera as a trans woman, i think some of the parallels you could make to medical transition are pretty clear in that framing, too.)
minkowski says “you weren’t here with us [...] we were over here, and you were over there” but minkowski would never actually say that - from her perspective, hera was as there with them as she's ever been. but if hera doesn't feel that way - if - like the sound design suggests - she's always hearing their voices the way they hear hers... if she's always felt that she's somewhere else... then it's hard for me to imagine there's a way to resolve that without giving her the autonomy to physically interact with the others, to be seen the way she sees herself - and that's something i think is really highlighted in the finale, too.
#wolf 359#w359#hera wolf 359#asks#like i get why some people don't want AI Characters in General to have human forms but i think the circumstances are soo different for hera#and denying that that physicality is a part of her and that her lack of physicality is both like. a social frustration and#and issue of autonomy for her... i think would be missing some really major parts of her character. that are really important to me#for. as usual. trans and disability related reasons in particular.#you know? like there are ... themes here that i think would be better explored if i could tell it as a story. as opposed to writing meta#but i think there's really something about what hera having a body would highlight about those experiences and just. bodies in general#in the context of wolf's themes about humanity. like. that having a body won't fix all of the problems she might hope it would#that it would equalize her experience in some way and make her realize she wasn't that different before. that some of the limitations#might be frustrating. but also that... the way it would broaden her ability to experience things and be really present in her own life#by limiting her perspective to those very tangible mundane things... i think that's really in line with wolf 359's discussion about#'the big picture' as opposed to personal connection etc.#i think it is just very personal for me as someone who does feel so disconnected that like. i dunno.#i like to think it would be worth it for her.#well. thank you for asking. i'm always happy to hear from you!!

(ik mc doesn't have any memories of their family but lets just say they got their memories back and theyre visiting their family)
how would the m6 be like when they meet mc's parent(s)?
The Arcana HCs: M6 meeting the parent(s)
~ can I say how badly I've been wanting to write this? This is giving me so much serotonin, thank you anon! - brainrot ~
Julian
Outwardly an anxious mess, inwardly very excited. This man adores family
He chose a future with you, he knows your parent/s must mean a lot to you if you're introducing him to them, he wants them to like him!
He also keenly felt the loss of his own parents, and while he's not looking to replace them, he's not opposed becoming an honorary child of theirs (son-in-law, perhaps? Only if you're interested...)
Completely fumbles the introductions and definitely comes across as a little overeager to please
However, if the meeting lasts beyond ten minutes, he'll get over himself and his natural charm and charisma will shine
Nobody can tell stories like he can, and you're his favorite subject
Your parent/s will most likely have a good impression of him by the end of the first visit. He wears his heart on his sleeve and it's full of good intentions
If they dislike him, it will most likely be a reaction to his loud, dramatic tendencies coming across as all feeling and no commitment. Give it another visit or two and they'll quickly see otherwise
Is so quick to assimilate. He'll be calling them what you call them (e.g. "mom"/"dad") as soon as it's allowed
Asra
They're very honored to meet your parent/s, and they do want to be accepted, but they have such a naturally easygoing nature that you worry they're not taking it seriously
He's also got his own issues from being left behind as a small child. As much as he's been able to reconnect with his own parents, he still expects parental figures to vanish by default
Will casually stroll in and introduce themself like it's no big deal
Until he sees all the things you share in common. Mannerisms, phrases, facial expressions, physical features if you share DNA with them
Now they're SO invested. This is a treasure trove of information about you, they want to hear all the stories and see all the pictures
Conversation will mostly consist of him asking questions about your time with them and responding to their answers
The difficulty lies in how hard it is for him to talk about himself. Anytime the conversation becomes about him he redirects it
If your parent/s disapprove of them, it's for this reason. It's hard to connect with someone who refuses to open up
If Asra has cause to trust them, they will eventually connect. Either way, it's no secret how deeply dedicated they are to you
Nadia
Calm and collected on the outside
Stressed and panicking on the inside
She's planning to marry you. Your parent/s will be her parent/s. She does not want to mess this up
It doesn't help that the main things she's felt from her family have been judgment and mockery. She doesn't want version 2 of that
Discreetly does research on them. Hobbies, interests, careers, personality types, etc
Very stiff and formal at first. She doesn't want to show any weaknesses and will try to subtly flex her strengths
Thankfully, she's a brilliant conversationalist. Once she's spoken to them for a few minutes she'll be able to relax and interact freely with them
Also fascinated with all the things you have in common with them. Wants to hear about all the sides of you she hasn't seen yet
She has wonderful intuition and will easily steer away from awkward topics and focus on shared interests
If your parent/s disapprove of her, it's most likely from her aloofness in the first ten minutes. She's much more intimidating than she thinks she is
However, she is dedicated. If they mean a lot to you, she'll go out of her way to build one on one relationships with them and treat them with the respect she does her own
Muriel
This is going to require so many pep talks in advance, he is an anxious wreck
Does he love you? Yes. Does he value your connection with your parent/s? Very much. He knows how much he misses his own. Is he convinced that they're going to hate him? Unfortunately, also yes
Will ask you to warn them about him ahead of time to avoid as much misunderstanding as possible
Absolutely petrified when he meets them. He's only going to manage one word answers the whole first visit. He's putting all of his energy into not running away
Unless you have a parent with insanely strong nurturing instincts, it's going to be a while before they warm up to him. He already has quite the intimidating presence
He is also determined. He learned too late how much he meant to his parents and he wants you to have a happy story with them
So he will visit them with you again. And again. And again. As many times as it takes until they accept him
Because he's so determined to keep your connection with your parent/s, it's unlikely they'll have any long lasting issues with him
If anything, they'd be concerned at how isolated your life is in the woods. Tell them about how Vesuvia calls him a hero and they might change their mind(s)
Portia
You still have yours? Of course she wants to meet them!
Not that anxious about it. She can get along with almost anyone, and if they're important to you then they must be the best
It's still very important to her to make a good impression though, so she'll be full of questions about what they do and don't like
Also curious about who raised her favorite person. By the time she meets them she's so excited
Most likely insists on having them over for dinner and planning out all her best dishes
Will hug them when they arrive, no hesitation or awkwardness allowed. Immediately treats them like family and pumps them for stories of your childhood
What adventures did you have together? What kind of child were you? Do they have pictures? Show her, show her!
It is highly unlikely that your parent/s will find anything to dislike about her. They might be a little overwhelmed by how intensely involved she gets or how quickly she makes herself comfortable, but that's it
She's the type of person who can make anyone feel at home. When she tells them to visit whenever they want, she means it
Will consider them part of her social circle. If you're out shopping together she'll point things out that they might like
Lucio
Oh dear. He's never been very good with parents. Or authority figures for that matter
He killed his own dad, okay? Like he's grown a lot, and he definitely regrets it, but MC! Are you sure this is a good idea??
Both overconfident and nervous. It matters a lot that he make a good impression on them
But when he's honest with himself, he just knows your parents will think that you could do better
So he'll just have to show them all the reasons that he's the best!
The first meeting is a disaster. He's peacocking and boasting and nervously spewing his thoughts a mile a minute
In fact, he's such a mess that your parent/s believe you completely when you pin his behavior on his anxiety
The next time he meets them he's embarrassed himself enough to put on his best manners
It's such a positive contrast to the last encounter that they'll walk away from it saying that he's a surprisingly nice guy
He's so hyped from making a good first (second) impression as a changed man that he will do everything in his power to keep that reputation
"MC, would [parent] like this? Should I bring it to them next time? What should I wear? Do they have any favorite songs?"

consider: au where opal goes rogue, leaves the airbenders, basically becomes antifa against kuvira
I LOVE THAT
I alwys thought Opal may be an airbender who would splinter off from the Air Nomads more traditional pacifistic lifestyle. What's interesting is that by going up against Kuvira, she is protecting an Air Nomad value- that of freedom.
So it would be interesting to see that storyline and how it would impact her relationship with the other airbenders like Jinora and Tenzin.
Tumblr media
I also think the Beifong family would support her wholeheartedly, perhaps getting involved in it too. I kinda have been toying with the idea of the Beifongs starting a resistance against Kuvira. They seemed to be the only people genuinely caring about Kuvira's actions and willing to try to put a stop to her.
I think B4's storyline would benefit a lot from a having the Beifong family as Pov characters, since they could actually offer insight into what's going on in the Earth Kingdom. They also have a very personal connection to the villains, Kuvira and Baatar Jr, which wasn't explored as much as I wish it had been.
If the queercoded miniboss from B1 gets almost a whole episode with flashbacks to traumadump aboud his bender communist big bro in B1, why did Su have to tell Korra that she adopted Kuvira OFFSCREEN. Lile doesn't that feel like something we should've seen. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THAT FUCKING COMIC.
Tumblr media
When thinking about this idea, Iwas also inspired by Polish freedom fighters and their partisan activities, since Kuvira's rule over the Earth Empire has hallmarks of both Nazi and Soviet regimes, for example the Spirit Canon (before it got attached to the ridiculous robot) being inspired by an actual german canon (Dora), the literal Iron Curtain, the "re-education" camps, the militarisation, the forceful redistribution of resources, the rampant propaganda, etc, etc.
Tumblr media
However, this storyline has strong USA influences, for example the almost complete dismissal of the actual people who live under the occupation, for the benefit of heroes from the thinly veiled New York insert.
Tumblr media
The Beifong family stand out from this group as actual citizens of the Earth Kingdom, who were opposed to Kuvira's rule the whole time because they knew what the fuck was going on at least to some extent. They are members of an established Earth Kingdom family, daughter and grandchildren of an Earth Kingdom war hero, and they live in a city that is seemingly the seedbed of progress and innovation.
Their storylines could be fascinating as they come to realise that no one, not even the literal fucking Avatar seems to be too jazzed to help them, that they are quite literally on their own. This is not too dissimilar from Poland as it was at the beginning of the invasion. Despite having agreements with England and France of these two countries supporting Poland's independence, England and Frabce did not take up military action against Germany after its attack on Poland. Similarly, Republic City, the Fire Nation and the Air Nomads were not willing to put up a fight until Kuvira attacked them! Idk what the fuck the Water Tribe was doing but probably not much I assume.
Stories of resistance fighters in German occupied countries (not only Poland) are often forgotten in the larger picture, despite them playing vital roles in the war. This is especially poignant when it comes to countries that were absorbed into the Eastern bloc when said freedom fighters were hunted and murdered relentlessly to keep the people silent and obedient.
Seeing an echo of these often forgotten stories in the Beifong family, a family that tried to stand up against the dictator oppressing their country and then getting reduced to McGuffins in Korra's mental health journey and Bolin's ridiculous "getting back with my gf after I sympathised with Nazis" arc is disheartening.
Tumblr media
The storyline was right there! The Beifongs have a personal connection to Kuvira and Baatar Jr, they have skin in the game, they have ideals opposing the main antagonist, they had the potential for an extremely emotuionally touching storyline, they have strong characters just begging to be explored. Opal and Kuvira are foils and it would be so easy to elevate Wei and Wing to the role of Baatar Jr's foils too, like a darker more antagonistic version of Tenzin and Bumi!
The storyline was right there!
Tumblr media
But instead they get sidelined for Korra's, admittedly well done, but misplaced trauma arc and a weird fantasy oriental USA saviour fantasy. And then they get a shitty half assed comic where Opal and the twins to lesser extent are posited as unreasonable for being wary and angry at a person who tried to kill them! And Kuvira is woobified to an insulting extent.
Also Kuvira's attack on Zaofu, a wealthy and advanced city full of artists, scholars and visionaries gives big "Soviets and Germans commiting mass murder of Polish Intelligentsia in for example Katyń, in order to make the nation easier to control and take apart, due to lack of potential resistance leaders." I do not wanna hear you bitches talking about how she was right for wanting to "redistribute their wealth and shit". Her ass was after power and those damn platnium domes to make her military stronger. Like if this weren't a fucking kids show and they weren't planning a 'redemption' for Kuvira, people would be standing above mass graves and being shot in the back of the head.
Quick note: I'm going off mainly my knowledge of Polish history due to my own nationality and education, but there are similar stories in may surrounding countries, for example Ukraine which is currently still being attacked by Russia. The stories and ideologies Kuvira and B4 represented are still well and alive today, as was the rest of the world's indifference to the suffering caused by them.
This is why I feel so strongly on this subject and I wish it was handled better and with more care for the actual victims instead of the sorta "America adjacent" heroes.
I also want to note that I don't wish to erase the influences of other cultures and histories on Kuvira, B4 and the whole of Tlok. I am merely noticing themes and references that I was primed to see since I was a child, but that doesn't mean that this is the exclusive reading of the storyline.
I know this rant kinda fell away from the og topic and got heated but I have ✨️feelings✨️ about book 4, the Beifongs and Kuvira.

Jesse Alphabet (Dirty Version)
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
He’ll be very sweet after, making you’re okay and that you also enjoyed yourself. Sometimes you’ll go take a shower while other times he’ll practically worship your body, littering kisses to anywhere and everywhere
B = Body part (their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Your hips. Jesse adores your hips and will have at least one hand on them at all time, he loves how his hands fit perfectly in the dips as if you two were made for each other. He likes to keep his hair longer than he used to when he found out that you pulling it during sex or generally was a really big turn on for either of you
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Jesse doesn’t care where he comes as long as it’s with you and if you’re okay with it. His favourite place to come is on your chest or inside you but inside you can lead to anxieties until your period shows its face
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
He would never admit this to anyone but he would imagine being with you when he was with Dina, near the end of their relationship as he has a picture of you that would be the main thing in his fantasies with his hand.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
He’s just as inexperienced as you, making everything clumsy and cute and you both love it. You both love exploring and finding new ways to make each other happy and find new ways to elicit moans and any pleasure from the other.
F = Favourite position (this goes without saying)
Jesse loves missionary as it just makes you feel so much more connected to each other, both of you murmuring sweet nothings and needy kisses. He’ll hold you by the hips or he’ll lead over you, pressing chest to chest. Sharing kisses and he’ll hold your hands, kissing your neck or any exposed skin.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
The inexperience makes you two break into giggles and it can be shy and goofy but everything is very heartfelt. Through the jokes and laughter there is passion and a longing for the moments not to end. Being goofy can make some of your experiences more memorable and sometimes you’ll be laughing about it all at other times too.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Jesse isn’t a very hairy person so there’s not much to keep in check but he tries to keep myself trimmed so if you give him a blowjob you don’t have to worry about stray hairs.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
At the start it was clumsy and cute but Jesse can very much be a dominant which is a massive turn on. There would be times where he could fuck you into the bed and leave you speechless let alone thoughtless. He always shows you how much he loves you no matter how how rushed or desperate the sex is
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanons)
Jesse would definitely masturbate as he is a growing guy but sometimes it would be mutual masterbation and he’d always picture you no matter what.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Jesse has a very surprising breeding kink. He loves to come inside you and the thought of you two having kids together was so hot. It took him a long while to admit this and you were surprised that you also weren’t too opposed to it, loving the idea of Jesse becoming you one and only
L = Location (favourite places to do the do)
Jesse preferred to do it at his as there was no chance of you two being walked in on as you made the mistake of not locking your bedroom door at yours once and it led to your dad (Tommy) walking in on you two…
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
He’s a growing guy, anything will turn him on but he loses all functionality when you whisper in his ear all the things you’ll let him do if you two leave where ever you are right now. Or just seeing you any parts naked or in undress.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Anything that includes like physically hurting you such as slapping you or tying you up as that feels a little too much like assault and he just hates the thought of you being hurt and unable to voice whether you want it or not.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Jesse is a fucking slut for getting blowjobs and it takes a lot for him not to come then and there at the sight of you kneeling for him, looking up through innocent eyes. He also likes to go down on you as he loves the way you unravel so quickly, especially with his fingers.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
It’s usually passionate and as fast or slow as you both want it or have time before getting caught. You like it when it’s hot and heavy, hips slamming together and hands grabbing whatever skin they can find. You do also love the sensual sex where he’s grinding his hips against your clit and creating the slow build of euphoria
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
You like quickies but Jesse’s enthusiasm is dependent on where you are when you have these quickies. He does love them, the rush and the closeness that comes with quickies but he still does get worried during them.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Jesse does not like risks when it comes to there being a possibility of your dad walking in but he’s definitely not disagreeing that the risk is quite hot. He will do anything sexual with you if you are in the mood and have time while on patrol, making sure you really do have time to make yourselves presentable before the next patrol arrive
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Jesse has as much stamina as a young adult, so a lot but he doesn’t always last long which neither mind as it leads to oral. You two admittedly fuck like rabbits and have had complaints from Ellie (your best friend and neighbour) to shut the fuck up.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
You would like to both experiment with them but you’ve never found any so that’s for the future if you do find any.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Jesse isn’t as much of a tease as you are. You like to press your ass against his crotch whenever you’re standing together, feeling the way his hands tighten on your hips in warning but it doesn’t ever stop you moving your ass to feel him growing until he’s growling in your ear to behave
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Jesse can definitely be very vocal, practically singing praises at you and about how perfect you feel around him and it just makes everything hotter. He tries to muffle his orgasm against your lips or by burying his face in your neck but he never seems to smother them too much
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Jesse loves marking your skin with hickeys everywhere others can see and you love it equally as much. It turns him on the way your skin blooms a red and you moan at every bite and mark left. He loves the way you wear them with pride, especially when the top two buttons of your button up is open to reveal some going towards your chest and bra.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
He’s definitely hung like a fucking horse, making you gag every time you try to deep throat him and it takes a minute or so for you to adjust every time but fuck does it hit every spot you want it to.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
About the same as each other and very, very high. You two are usually tumbling into bed every other night and some mornings are started with cuddling sex which has you needing to jump into the shower.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
You’ll sometimes fall asleep in the position you’ve both come in, him on your chest and face in the crook of your neck but you’re both out quite quickly after sex as long as you’re wrapped around each other.

Guide to interacting with media re: your protest
I have worked in newspapers on and off for like 15 years. I don’t make any decisions about coverage, but I see the decisions and I help carry them out. 1) If your shirt/sign/banner has profanity on it, it won’t get printed (probably not put online either). Which is great if you don’t want your picture in the paper, but bad if you’re right in the front of a crowd shot that could show how big a protest is. Plan accordingly. (For what it’s worth, in the past ACAB has been allowed, and “hell” is fine.) This is something we have to watch out for much more with certain topics, which is probably a whole psychology paper.
2) Broooadly speaking, newspapers do trend “left”. I’ve encountered exceptions, by region/parent company, but that’s what happens when your job is to get a deep understanding of how issues affect humans. TV news stations, on the other hand, trend right because of Sinclair (and because their job is much more about getting the news out fast instead of deep).
3) If you tell a reporter that you can’t have your name/last name used, they’re supposed to respect that. (I’m not going to say it’s never been messed up, but I can’t think of any incidents.) If you won’t give the reporter your name at all, they might not use your quote, because then it looks like the reporter is making someone up [I have not seen this one personally but its national news when it happens] OR maybe they find out later that actually you're a professional provocateur [I have seen this one]. 3.b) If you don’t want your picture taken, say so. But if you’re in a crowd shot or a group of people, that’s harder. Photographers aren’t going to hide what they’re doing, so you can avoid them, but if it’s really really important, wear a mask or take advantage of ^1.
4) If you have a sports connection, leverage it. Newspapers like local content and it’s hard to fill a sports section with local content, so if the whole HS softball team is at a protest or the university’s star quarterback is taking a knee, that’s likely to draw attention.
5) If you're cool with being quoted, try to think about adversarial questions you might be asked (when do you think life begins, doesn't a cop have a right to due process, why set up tents after the university specifically said no tents) and plan out answers. Because if you can put together a coherent sentence like "Everyone claims to be concerned about that but the real issue is [whether the state can force you to let another person use your body, the lack of due process for the unarmed person who is now dead, an ongoing genocide]" as opposed to "well, what about x, it's like, shouldn't y'all care about that more", you are more likely to get quoted and more likely to have your quote emphasized. 5.b) On the other hand, if you tend to run your mouth, start arguments, exaggerate or "just call it like I see it", etc, consider whether what you say will actually be helpful to the cause you claim to support, especially when fact-checked.
Happy to try to answer questions.
And as a friend said: Stay safe, stay angry, stay in solidarity, and most of all, stay looking for those who may need your support and kindness right now – no one should fall behind.

Hey Frank!
If you could design a perfect world for us all to live in, what would it be like? What would your life be like in this world?
I'm not sure I'd say "design" -- I'd want to change the world in a way to approximate a particular picture in my head.
I'm not sure I have any unified concept of "the good life." I can write specific stories about specific individuals, but I'm not sure what they have in common.
How about this:
Everyone lives in houses, big houses (rooms for individual family members, as opposed to "the whole family shares a bedroom").
Students/interns/volunteers have housing at places where they work, except they are treated much better there than in their own homes. This is seen as a huge perk by everyone who gets it. In particular, housing at workplaces is connected to the work they are doing; if you were a housekeeper in my ideal world, you'd be paid more, because you'd have a nicer room and stuff. (Would this make people reluctant to do the more "unpleasant" jobs, though?)
If you don't have housing at work, you can get housing nearby but at a lower cost, and with a lower income, because prices have been lowered substantially for most consumer goods.
People have plenty of spare time (how much is the question).
All consumable goods, especially food, are very cheap; most people don't work because they have enough money to live, and because they have other things they want to do, including (of course) reading and intellectual discussion.
People's lives aren't massively constrained by "survival mode" -- life is not massively hard, the quality of life is high, people are very civilized and have time to be nice to each other.
Employment is no longer the main mechanism for producing income, but it still exists.
People have hobbies, some of which involve making money, but that's not the main purpose of the hobbies.
Technology has made many things much easier to do, and people can use those technologies to achieve many more goals than they used to. (I'm envisioning some sort of [very advanced?] digital personal assistant.) The idea would be to give people the ability to use their time as effectively as possible so they could get the things they really wanted. People would find all sorts of ways to use this new leisure time, even when they're not "exercising" the new abilities.
Making the world more technologically advanced to this degree would make many things more possible, not just more convenient, but that's just my personal hunch.
For myself, I would probably teach math and live with many other people who were similar (professors, grad students, people who do non-academic things I'm interested in, etc.) at some giant sort of "collective house" thing. We'd have more couches and bookshelves than desks and computers, since we wouldn't really need the latter. Certain people would have rooms they could seal themselves in, but they would usually be doing work and not go in there unless they had to. (Or they would be eating things that produce flatulence.) If they were free, everyone would sit around, talking and reading and walking around and so forth.

From now on, if an investigation story doesn't include a girl forced to investigate her uncle without knowing she is, while worrying about her cousin destroying the world (and being the only person with a sane view of it) and being attracted to the dangerous opposing investigator despite having a boyfriend, I don't want to know it.
How did Iris' characterization change?? All I remember front he epilogue is that she was angry and very defensive of David (a good trait if you ask me).
As for Hermes' explanation for war (loved him and loved his fascination with Iris even more), I think revenge is an important motive too. It might be a subset of love, but I think it's big enough to be mentioned separately. Especially since I think Lance's motive for fulfilling the prophecy will be either love or revenge, and either way something to do with Arcaid.
(Crack theory - Lance going after Kincaid for breaking his brother's heart or corrupting him, and then the armies will take that as a sign to destroy Idris.)
Don't underestimate werewolves and vampires, people. Those people produced Maia and Lily and Raphael and Jordan and Bat (and even Simon!)
I am sooo excited for the Hermes/Iris investigation arc hehehe.
Iris' character changed because I felt like in the LBAF 4 epilogue she came across as angry and bitchy and that's not how I picture her - or someone who grew up in Scholomance with Ragnor + Gabrelena + Amira. I find her as someone who is very sensible and calm and even when she is frustrated or angry, she handles it rationally.
I also didn't like her interaction with Kincaid in the epilogue because I don't see her being mad at him, but being a little concerned instead (her mature side showing up).
Revenge is definitely a motive! But as you said, for me, it's too closely connected with love (for a person or a place or their country etc).
Your crack theory doesn't sound very crack hehe. AND YES DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE WEREWOLVES AND VAMPIRES.

this dynamic def has a “leader” and a “follower”, in sexual terms this would translate as a sub and a dom (submissive, dominant). it feels authoritative or demanding, very “ass up face down” vibes lmao it’s actually very hot. this feels like bdsm, or incorporating bondage and blindfolds—sensory deprivation is significant, but it’ll be an every day thing opposed to only when y’all are in the mood to. i do sense some uncertainty around the idea, potentially on your side more than your partner? it feels unsettling, but only because it’s outside of what you’re used to in the bedroom. if you’ve ever watched fifty shades of grey, this energy feels like ana’s initial reaction towards the red room contract.
it’s going to throw you through a loop just because of how in your face it’ll be; you’re used to things going slow or at a pace that you can ease in to but this person operates at lightning (eh) speed. i can see you going ghost for a few days, maybe even cutting contact off for a week or two—overwhelm will get the best of you and you’ll feel suffocated. it’s more anxiety than it is being trapped where you don’t want to be, but i see your partner being patient and using that as a guide to calm your fret. after the nerves subside you’ll be all in and open for them (woah lmao), i can even feel you anticipating this after a long day of whatever. it’s fun and inviting, y’all will even set up the room or “energy” together (sub initiating foreplay or asking for it, decorating the bedroom, going out and having “moments” before the actual act etc.). it’s something that you treat as an actual treat, you’re excited for the taste because it’s always so good.

tbh it was hard to pinpoint what or where your energy stems from, especially before i listened to the channeled song; it definitely feels like you’ll have to trust or be very emotionally invested in the connection (person) before tapping into your sexual side. it doesn’t have to be 100% trust (although it should be bae), but you’ll have to feel comfortable and safe around them for sure; this gives off friends or close acquaintances. i can see that you’re a boss in these situations; knowing who the person is gives you leverage and it instills this confidence of getting something done. imagine yourself in high heels (or f**k me pumps) and strutting down a hall full of men and women that want you—want to be you even. commanding their attention and keeping it with each step, never giving their eyes a chance to leave or watch anything else.
your energy definitely corresponds with the song; the upbeat tempo combined with the instruction in the lyrics make up who you become in a sexual light. “i’ll take the lead, i got the energy.” once you’re certain of what it is that you’re doing or feeling (confidence, attractive, determined etc) it’s not hard to control whatever circumstance is in the room. i see your prescthis translates into getting on top or telling someone what to do with it; making them lick here or kiss there. to anyone else there’s steps that go into becoming that bold, but for you it’s natural—it’s not a challenge to become a force in the bedroom, it’s all about letting it happen. i can see this coming out of things catered to yourself like; pampering or spoiling, taking cute pictures or posting them, sunbathing in the grass, even doing shadow work or inner healing.

I love your writing.
if it's not too much trouble may i make a request? I'm thinking the Dimitrescu women meeting and/or courting a fellow immortal.
the circumstances of the immortal's powers and possession of immorality are entirely up to you. I just like the idea of them meeting someone they could literally spend forever with...because they deserve it ❤
I wasn't sure if you wanted a story or headcanons? I went with HCs, here, but if you wanted more of a drabble or whatever just lemme know and I'll write something like that.
Also, I got excited and carried away so this has the whole Dimitrescu family, plus shorter ones for both Mother Miranda and Donna. Admittedly Alcina's is also a little on the shorter side? I tried to write everything that came to mind, but I am kinda tired right now, sorry. Might reblog this and add some more later.
(Under read-more for length)
Cassandra:
Tries (and fails) to hide her excitement. Mortality is one of the bigger things that has made her keep her distance to others, at least in the past. Every Maiden she’s ever been the slightest bit smitten with, up until this point, has been incredibly fragile. Seeing as she’s not exactly the softest person, one can easily imagine why that would be a turn off for her. But now that’s no longer a problem!
On the other had… having an immortal partner gives Cassandra pause. Why? Because what if they breakup? Normally, she can just, ahem, “dispose” of any exes (regardless of how much it hurts) so she doesn’t have to see them/deal with them anymore. If that’s not an option, she’ll definitely take longer than usual to do anything about her feelings. She wants to be sure, 100%, before she gets in over her head. Chances are she won’t hold back for as long as she wants though.
Likely to have a loud, messy confession. She’ll have been avoiding you for a few days, always ducking out of whatever rooms you enter, leaving you both hurt and confused. After enlisting the help of her sisters, you’ll be able to corner her outside. She’ll tell you, under no uncertain circumstances, to leave her alone. But you’ll refuse, demanding an explanation.
“I thought we had something. I thought you cared,” you’ll snap, eyes watering. “If that’s changed… if I was wrong, just tell me. I’ll leave and I’ll never come back.” Cue thunder and raining (because tropes) and Cassandra dramatically pulling you into a kiss, holding you so tightly you think you might bruise. Then she’s demanding that you stay, refusing to apologize but making it clear just how much she does care.
Being immortal, you’re not as defenseless as some of Cassandra’s past interests. Naturally, she doesn’t get quite as protective as she normally would. She’ll still have your back no matter what, ready to fight by your side against any foe, and will probably consider doing so a “fun bonding activity”. Oh, some lycans are encroaching on Dimitrescu territory? Time to go destroy them, as a power couple!
Despite having all the time in the world, Cassandra won’t change much of her actual courting behavior, nor the rate at which things advance. She’s still gonna get handsy fairly early on, still gonna “rah!” at you in the hallways, and still going to struggle with her jealousy.
Immortality Compatibility: I can see Cassandra going for another vampire (or vampire adjacent) creature, or someone demonic. She likes her lovers a bit rough, with some nice bite to their personalities. If you’ve got sharp teeth, or claws, or glowing eyes? Oh boy, she’s gonna be making heart eyes at you all the time.
Bela:
If your immortality isn’t immediately obvious, Bela is over the moon with joy when she finds out. Her eyes will go wide for a moment, before she tries to seem calm (so as to not freak you out), but her heart is pounding. This is what she’s been hoping for. As much as Mother Miranda has done for her family, there’s no guarantee that she’d be willing to give more. Even if Miranda granted Bela’s lover her “gift”, there was no telling what the results would be, or if the lover would survive. Now that there’s no need for such a transformation, it’s far easier for Bela to imagine herself in love (and eventually be in love).
Slow-burn romance over a decade or longer, oops. Doesn’t even necessarily mean to take things so slowly, just doesn’t feel a need to rush things, preferring that they develop organically. With both of you having unlimited time, you’re both used to working on a very large timescale. Maidens watching the two of you probably place bets on how long it’ll take you to hold hands for the first time. Everyone knows it’s coming, but no matter how much Cassandra and Daniela complain, Bela refuses to jump into things. By the time the two of you are officially together, you’re probably madly in love with each other.
More protective than Cassandra, if only because she knows just how rare you are. Immortal or not, you likely still have a weakness, and Bela will do everything in her power to make sure no one else knows what it is. If applicable, she will also ensure she has a countermeasure readily available. For example: If you were weak to fire, she’d make sure that the castle keeps extinguishers handy, just in case. Though they should probably already do that. Not that the Dimitrescu family cares much for OSHA compliance.
Somehow grows more in love with you with every passing year, and makes sure that you know this. Whether you’ve been together for one year or one century (because in this house we ignore canon), she’s always performing little acts of love, giving constant reminders of how strongly she feels. Gifts, special dates, book recommendations, etc.
Immortality Compatibility: Bela seems like the type to go for someone with a calming presence, and perhaps somewhat of a contrast to herself. I can picture her with someone somewhat angelic, or druidic, someone very in tune with nature. She’d love to feed deer with you and relax in the forest! Or lay against a tree by your side, listening to you talk about various microorganisms for hours at a time.
Daniela:
Practically tackles you when she finds out/connects the dots. This is just like one of her romance novels, where a lonely (attractive as fuck) immortal spends years in isolation before finally meeting the love of their life, who they get to spend the rest of eternity with. Absolutely ecstatic about the whole situation. Won’t stop kissing you and pulling you close, rambling about how great it’s gonna be to spend your lives together. Honestly? Kind of overwhelming. You might have to remind her a few times that you don’t have to rush into things, considering you have all the time in the world.
Introduces you to people as her “super cool/rad immortal life partner”. Genuinely cannot bring herself to not brag about you. If her sisters haven’t found someone like you yet, you can bet that Daniela will tease them about it all the time (much to their annoyance). If Momma Alcina doesn’t, though? Dani will keep her thoughts to herself, thank you very much (being grounded at her age does not impress the s/o).
Tries not to show it, but she’s actually very nervous. You’re immortal! You’ve probably seen a lot of shit (she certainly has)! Worries about keeping you interested in her, though she would never admit it. This tends to lead to her performing ridiculous acts to showcase her affection, regardless of the cost or, like, whether or not you’d even enjoy whatever she has planned. In order to counter her anxiety, you’ll want to reassure her whenever you can, and give her plenty of “I love you”s.
Strikes a decent balance between Cassandra’s nonchalant attitude and Bela’s protectiveness. Will defend you if you need it, playing up the romantic aspect, but also entirely willing to hide behind you in a scary situation.
Immortality Compatibility: Having probably read Twilight… Dani would date a werewolf, as long as they weren’t the smelly kind. Also interested in a sort of “magical”/elemental type, especially if their powers are influenced by emotions. In other words, if someone flirts with her in front of you, and your response is to subconsciously light your hands/the other person on fire? She thinks that’s hot, pun intended.
Alcina:
“Oh? Interesting,” she’d say, smiling softly (and trying to ignore the heat rushing to her face). Similarly to Cassandra, she’d try to play it off, not wanting to seem too excited. And, well, she’s not as excited as any of her daughters are. After all, she’s had more time than them to “get used” to the idea of outliving any potential romantic interests. So, she’s not exactly desperate for a relationship, even with someone she could spend an eternity with.
That being said, if she is romantically interested in them, she’s very relieved. Outliving a loved one can be incredibly traumatizing (fuck you c*pcom, you know what you did), and knowing that you’re safe (or at least safer than most) brings her no small amount of comfort.
Also, just glad to have another person close to her age around. Her daughters are somewhat stuck as young adults, and I imagine Alcina would want someone who gained immortality a little later in life, such as herself, as opposed to, ya know, reminding her of her children. That probably goes without saying. Hopefully.
More so than her daughters, Alcina would change her level of protectiveness depending on her s/o’s power level. If you’re a shapeshifter who can also turn into a big ass dragon? Then she’s not going to coddle you. If you’re immortal but still vulnerable, then she’s going to do her best to keep you safe, even going so far as to enlist the assistance of her daughters. “If you see a single Maiden growing mistletoe, or bringing some in from the village, let me know immediately,” or something like that, depending on your weakness.
Immortality Compatibility: Definitely would want someone in a situation similar to herself, having once been truly human, only to be “elevated” by something. Bonus points if you’re another disciple of Miranda, double bonus points if Miranda specifically “made” you to be Alcina’s boo/honey/darling/dear.
Bonus! Mother Miranda:
Oh god finally someone who won’t leave her (can’t leave her). No one can take you away from her, and that’s a relief that she’s been craving for over a century. Even if romance isn’t high on her priority list, she welcomes it with open arms, glad to have someone by her side through all of life’s chaos.
Admittedly slow to trust at first, probably just using you as a tool at first. But prove yourself enough, show that your devotion is more than just misdirected self-interest, and she’ll start to warm up to you. Forming a real relationship would likely take a couple decades, similar to with Bela. Once you are together, however, the two of you are inseparable in all matters.
You’d be her #1 follower, most trusted adviser, and the only person allowed to understand 100% of her thoughts and motives. While Miranda wouldn’t allow you to be seen as the same level as her (sorry), you’d still be a legend among the villagers. To them, you’re Mother Miranda’s champion, the epitome of a devoted follower that they all aspire to emulate. Not that they know the two of you are a couple, though.
Immortality Compatibility: No gimmicks, no cheap tricks, she wants (and respects) a fellow scientist, someone who clawed their way through adversity and forged themselves into something indestructible. Double the interest if you did so for a similar cause to her own, as she would appreciate your ability to relate to her suffering.
Bonus! Donna:
Someone to play with! FOREVER! No more losing people she cares about, no more accidentally breaking people, no more people scrambling to leave. Now that she has you, she can finally spend some quality time with another (living?) person. Honestly her dolls (or at least Angie) are just as excited as she is. Regardless of her relations with the other three Lords, Donna much prefers the company of a lover.
For real though she’s shy as hell and you might not even realize who’s pulling the strings until you’ve been in her house for over a year. She’d probably use her powers to trap you inside, at least at first, though they’d be nice hallucinations. You’d have to treat the dolls nicely, especially Angie, before she’d let you interact with her.
Eventually you’d be allowed to leave, and you’d be given a key to return whenever you wanted to. Assuming that you do, in fact, come back, the two of you would have a very, very slow romance, if only because of Donna’s anxiety. Hand holding makes both of your faces turn beet red, seriously.
Immortality Compatibility: *chanting* GHOST GIRLFRIEND GHOST GIRLFRIEND POLTERGEIST PARTNER POLTERGEIST PARTNER WOOHOO! Something with a flexible, only-sometimes-tangible form, who absolutely could have left at any time but didn’t because they wanted to stay.

Astrology observations 🌙🌙🌙
Credit: Tumblr blog @astroismypassion
🌙 Cancer Moon, Moon in the 4th house, Cancer over the 8th house, Moon in the 8th house fears being forgotten. 🌒
🌙 Moon Jupiter aspects put big food piece in their mouth. 😂 They might try to “shove in” as much food as possible. Like it’s some kind of contest, when in reality it’s not. 😅♐️
🌙 Scorpio Risings experienced something being taken away from them the moment they felt happy, the most content. Picture Taylor Swift receiving award and Kanye West saying someone else made something better. That type of scenario. 💔
🌙 Scorpio placements experience immediate karma. But I noticed with Scorpio Risings this could be in a matter of minutes. You might say something cruel/negative and someone will IMMEDIATELY oppose in a very strong polarising manner. 🦂
🌙 With Gemini over the 7th house you attract all Air signs really, all “detached” signs. Aquarius, Libra, Gemini. People you have a romantic relationship with might suggest more platonic, friend like partnership. Or you two might date, but they will constantly say you two are “just friends”. 😬Might have very friendly connection though, just not so great if you crave more romantic gestures. ♊️ Or you might be friends with benefits. Or in and out of being just friends and partners. Might also date someone what has your sibling’s characteristics.
🌙 I noticed Juno very often shows not just our desired partner, spouse, but how WE would be as a partner to others. Example: you have Scorpio Juno in the 3rd house. You might become more possessive, territorial, sometimes controlling and talkative when with your partner. If you have Gemini Juno in the 7th house you might become a bit hot and cold with partner, more talkative, be more compromising to the needs of your partner. Sagittarius Juno in the 2nd house: you might be more willing to experiment when partnered with someone. etc.
🌙 Your Vertex might represent your childhood crush or your long term crush person. For example: you have Cancer Vertex in the 8th house. You might meet Cancer Sun, Moon, Rising and they would be like a wish fulfilment for. Tom Cruise was Vertex person of Katie Holmes. She said in an interview that she had the biggest crush on him in her teenage years and later they got married. That’s Vertex at play right there.
🌙 Sign and planets in the 7th house and Descendant can show your shadow side as well.
🌙 The house of Venus show circumstances and environment you meet, attract partnerships (be it platonic, romantic, friends, family like bond) more easily. Example: Venus in the 6th house: when you are grocery shopping, when you are hanging out with your friends, when you are learning something new or search for information online/social media, on public transport, while in school/studying. Venus in the 11th house: on social media, when you embrace your quirks, unique talents, in group setting, when you expression what you perceive as your odd opinion/outlook on life etc. 💕

okay so, the episode 4 xiyao heart eyes moments. I think it’s probably having read some other people’s threads talking about the specific circumstances engendering the various 3zun dynamics that show up in mdzs the book, that makes me specifically take note of this now as something worth digging into a little?
because the closeness we see essentially from the start between lxc & jgy in the novel, comes in the context of their first meeting being the pre-sunshot rescue situation - a fairly... intuitively obvious context for why two people would bond so strongly, I think? - whereas even though I think it’s p clear in the show that the relationship they have absolutely develops the same sort of depth during the sunshot campaign and after, they are also just as clearly immediately drawn to one another when they first meet despite there being much lower stakes and less interpersonally enclosed circumstances around them.
for meng yao, I think the “why” of that is pretty obvious (shockingly singular kindness and esteem along with social graces! clearly a sharp mind for navigating tricky interpersonal political situations! high cultivation and graceful, restrained power! also, y’know, absolutely !! Pretty Boy!)
whereas lan xichen is less... immediately clear, I think, in particular if you’re going for a more serious read that blends in traits that exist in both versions but nonetheless come across more strongly in the book, like his reservedness and reticence to form all that many close social bonds with others? (as opposed to a more silly meme-y “sect leader lan sees pretty big-eyed twink and is immediately head empty dtf” which is funny but not where I personally want to go with this; you do you etc. etc.)
but so, I do think the key to inferring context and parsing what’s going on for him, is definitely the line (”I’d heard clan leader nie has a capable assistant” or similar) where lxc indicates he’s heard noteworthy good things about meng yao already - enough that they’d stick in his mind when he meets him in person! because, and this is the key, I think it’s reasonable to infer that what nmj would have already told lxc, would give him an abridged description of a good selection of the traits that lxc does find so singularly compelling in jgy as they get to know each other more deeply later - diligence, quick wit and political astuteness and general competence, kindness and patient caretaking (re: nhs, because I’m sure nmj would mention the care his new vice-envoy takes with his beloved little brother). and then, with that already in his head as the picture lxc has of meng yao, meeting him in person and getting to see his impeccable manners and speech, and again yes definitely Pretty Boy.
and I also think about, hmm, perhaps subtler features of their meeting that help give lxc that immediate feeling of connection and interest, too? like, for example, what he says when meng yao tries to bow to him - “we are peers”. almost a bit of an absurd statement on the face of it, particularly from meng yao’s pov I’d imagine! - but that’s the thing, is that in all the roles he’s been raised in and living up to already, lan xichen doesn’t really have peers? and so if you take that line of his as not only the extreme social kindness and generosity he has, but also perhaps a bit wistful for that kind of connecting to others on their same level? you can see also, in this encounter, lan xichen for perhaps the first time meeting someone he’s heard good things of from a friend he broadly shares similar values with*, who seems to have the same sort of interests in outward presentation and social-aesthetic values, and also is similarly attuned to the kinds of diplomatic/interpersonal responsibilities lan xichen himself is.
so yes, I guess... my point is that, while it’s certainly a short bit of interaction and a set of fairly surface-level impressions they get of each other due to that - there’s still a fair bit of implied groundwork and possible readings going into those scenes that suggest lan xichen’s reaction comes in large part from a quick read on meng yao’s genuine personality and virtues, and impressions of traits they share and that eventually form the backbone of their substantial, much deeper connection and relationship.
they’re a quick couple scenes, but they pack a lot of implied context into them, and that makes a big difference!

I absolutely adore scrying as a method of divination especially as someone with aphantasia. I simply cannot see things in my head, but I can see the most clear, beautiful images when scrying. I will literally scry in any medium I have available. I’ve done carpet fibers, clouds, orange peels, water droplets on m y shower, the way my hair falls during a haircut, etc. Still, my favorite is fire scrying. As a little pyromaniac, the joy of having a fire plus using it to connect to spirit around me is unmatched.
When I was learning it, I found a lot of resources on scrying lacking. I might make this into a series because I do feel like there are a lot of factors that we simply do not give a second thought when it comes to scrying. This post is going to focus on setting up before a scrying session.
Before I even start building the fire, I start with my intention. Very often, I’ll have a vague question or goal, and I ask that Spirit guides the session to lead me to the answers that are most important or  relevant to my current situation. Some examples I’ve used in the past are: “What should I focus on during this period of my life?,” “What spirits (if any) are around me that want to tell me something,” is there anything I need to be watching out for?,” and “what symbols should I be paying attention to right now?” I personally recommend keeping the question vague and allowing for a lot of room for interpretation. Scrying, in my experience, is great for big picture questions as opposed to more specifics. Especially since you can start vague then follow up with other forms of divination or communication to get into the details.
Now that you have the goal in mind, you can begin to think more about the actual fire. If you want to use herbs or other ingredients in the fire, gather them now. Think about both intentions that you are bringing to the fire but also what is safe for me to burn. It’s all fun and games until you are inhaling smoke or your fire is much bigger than you want. If you want to add herbs, I always suggest holding them in your hands and throwing them into the fire after you get it going as opposed to including it into the fire while building it. Get super creative when adding things to a fire though!! I add in paintings I made, braided ropes I made with the same intention, my own hair/nails, and even candles! (I can make a post about any of these additions on their own right too honestly.)
[This is my favorite thing to consider.] When you pick your wood for the fire, play around with the shapes of the wood! If you are doing a fire on choices/decisions you have, pick a branch with multiple breaks in it to represent each path, or you can layer a few on top of each other with each piece representing separate paths. You can choose specific trees that align with your intention (after researching the safety of burning them…), and you can add leaves, pine needles, pine cones, flowers, etc. If you have wood from a store (which is normally what I use as a base and add smaller branches I dried myself on top to make the above symbolism), you can cut them into smaller pieces to play around with.
When you are choosing kindling, you can write intentions, incantations, and sigils on pieces of paper that you include in it. I make my own fire starters with colored wax that I charge with energy and intention for each fire to continue to layer the same intention behind that scrying session.
So now you have your kindling added, any additions, and your wood placed in the way that makes the most sense for you. I’ll use the charcoal from other fires to draw sigils/bind runes under the container for protection and to further amplify the intentions. You can also add the same runes on paper into the fire. I might add salt around the fire inside the container or simply push the charcoal in the dish around to create a circle.
When I scry, I usually make it into a whole event, so I’ll set up a blanket, make some tea with similar intentions, maybe bring some candles, or set up sigils for my guides as well. Then you can start the actual session! I might make this into an entire series where I detail the actual fire and how I close sessions.

yan-twst’s yandere twst base guidelines
long story short, i’m tired of not writing yan characters consistently so this is more so a guide for MYSELF to write them consistently. it’s not going to be 100% coherent or like, poetic, because this is moreso a reminder for myself to know how i’m characterizing these boys, but i thought i might as well post it so everyone has an idea how i work with yan characters
warnings: death mentions, general yandere content, mentions of verbal and physical abuse, non consensual drug use, you know the drill
riddle rosehearts is desperate for control and affection. his mommy issues make him seek out the sort of coddling and care he never got from his mother, and at the same time makes him want to establish he’s the one in charge to feel safe. he is easily jealous, doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty if it’s for his darling. he can be manipulated by them in his weaker moments, but he’ll usually be able to tell when they’re trying to use him and retaliate. he wouldn’t be opposed to letting those he trusts oversee his darling. he’ll keep his darling in his dorm; they may be allowed to roam around with trey or maybe cater, but riddle fully expects them to only go out when he’s there.
ace trappola is sadistic and a bit immature. he likes to make his darling’s life hell, tear them down and make them cry until he’s the one who comforts them (not very well). he’s the standard “little kid teasing his crush in the playground”, except way more violent. ace trusts nobody with his darling- he’ll use threats and violence to get them to stay away. he mocks his darling for being weak. ace can’t really keep his darling locked up due to his dorm situation, but his verbal abuse and manipulation are enough to keep them silent about how he treats them
deuce spade is conflicted but selfish. his past as a delinquent makes violence come easily to him, and he might hurt his darling in an outburst of anger. likewise, he’ll get rid of people he thinks are “getting too close” to his darling with threats of physical violence, and he’ll easily make good on those threats if prompted. the idea of locking them up isn’t something that comes up naturally (besides, he can’t really do that), but he’s always waiting for his darling in the door of their dorm in the mornings and drops them off, making sure they aren’t wandering off. he has bouts of extreme sweetness, talking about how they “changed him”, bringing them flowers, making them meet his mom- a big contrast to his violent tantrums, but his sweetness is enough to make his darling think he might stop hurting them (and also fear of what he could do if they broke up with him)
trey clover is a manipulator. he doesn’t really need fancy tricks or strength to make his darling stick by his side. the fact everyone sees him as a friendly and helpful man means nobody questions his actions too much. he pushes his darling to act the way he wants them to, usually gaslighting them or guilt tripping them into doing as he wishes. trey will not lock up his darling, at least not in school, but he’ll make them feel like they aren’t allowed to talk to anyone or interact with anyone other than him. he’ll also freely twist his darling’s words to make people who try to get close to them stay away
cater diamond needs to be told he’s loved, be told he’s good. he craves to have a close connection to somebody, and he’s just not used to feeling so attached to someone. he’ll use lots of blackmail to keep his darling obedient. whether he kidnaps his darling or not depends on how easily he can do so: if they’re the MC, he might not do so, since he craves to take pictures and show the world who he’s dating, and if he kidnapped them and published those it’d be too obvious. however, his blackmail makes it enough that his darling doesn’t dare go against him. cater won’t use violence to get rid of “rivals”, but he’s very much willing to use rumours and blackmail to ruin them
leona kingscholar wants both a plaything and someone to treat him like a king. he will make his darling feel weaker and inferior to him, but he’ll also seek comfort in them. leona has no trouble using some physical violence to keep his darling in their place, nor does he have qualms in killing people who he sees as a threat. luckily, it takes a lot to get him to that point, since he’s quite lazy about the effort it takes to kill. he fully expects his darling to pamper him, but he often makes allusions that once he sets a life for himself, they’ll be his “queen” of sorts. ruggie absolutely knows this is going on, and leona will let him be around his darling once in a while, as long as he knows his limits. lots of jealousy towards his brother- mentioning him is a surefire way to get beat black and blue
ruggie bucchi wants someone to call his own. he’s possessive and jealous, and he’ll do all he can to make them be his. he treats them more like property than as a lover sometimes. at the same time, he’s very much a needy lover, and he’ll be whining and keening for constanta affection. physical violence isn’t usual in his darling, but he has no issue getting rid of others- he’s very, very good at getting rid of the body. he keeps his darling locked in his room out of jealousy, and he’s got no problems with using his unique magic to make them give him affection
jack howl feels bad about how he feels but ha can’t stop himself. he rationalizes that he’s “protecting” his darling from the outside world, seeing them as weak and helpless compared to him. he scales up slowly in his obsession, starting from walking them around to locking them in his room. he thinks his darling is being thankless for not appreciating his worry. jack will not use physical violence on his darling, but he might make empty threats just to make them understand he’s stronger. jack will be hesitant to kill for his darling, however if he gets mad enough and if someone seems to be trying to rescue them or contact them, he might snap
azul ashengrotto is desperate to be reassured. he often cries and guilt trips his darling, asking them to assure him he’s good enough for them. the way he treats his darling wildly varies on his mood; when he’s feeling confident he’ll use smooth talking and act in a way so gentlemanly it might be able to temporarily make them forget their situation, but when he’s in the deep end of his insecurities he’s all screams and tears. when he’s out of his mind, he might leave bruises on his darling, but it’s more of a lack of control than a desire to hurt. he lets the leech twins around- under his watch- and makes them make sure his darling doesn’t think of escaping lest they be hunted by the eels. he’ll absolutely use a contract to take away his darling’s magic, and by extension take away the magic of anyone he sees as a “threat”. likewise, he’ll sic the twins onto the “threats”
jade leech is sadistic but calculating. he wants his darling to be dependent on him and him alone. upon kidnapping them, he makes sure to treat them nicely; bringing them warm food, physical comfort, etc. of course he also punishes quite liberally: however, he’s always careful in how he does it. he either makes it out to be entirely his darling’s fault so that he’s not “the bad guy”, or he might send in floyd to make them suffer. either way, jade is always the one to comfort them, and make them associate his presence with being well. jade absolutely keeps his darling locked up, and while he doesn’t like them being alone with someone else, he does let floyd or azul see them sometimes, maybe for dinner or something. jade has no problem killing to teach his darling a lesson, but he’s more often lowkey and clean about it
floyd leech does whatever he pleases. it doesn’t take much for him to decide to take his darling and force them into his room into the role of a toy for him to squeeze and bash around. floyd’s darling is always bruised and injured in some way- floyd sometimes treats their wounds, sometimes jade drops by to treat them, but he’s too rough for them to heal entirely. floyd rejoices in his darling’s tears and missery: he isn’t going to comfort them or try to make them love him, but rather demand they act how he wants when he wants and hurt them to get that. he’ll happily kill anyone his darling even as much as seems to think of- and he’ll also be very happy to show his darling the corpse and the gore to make them cry and sob
kalim a-asim truly doesn’t want to do his darling wrong. at first it’s his worries over his darling’s safety that makes him take action and lock them in the dorm; he prepares a room for them, lavish gifts and whatnot. kalim seems to be trying to buy his way into his darling’s heart, believing his actions can be forgiven with enough repentance (but not giving up what he’s gotten). although kalim would never harm his darling, he’ll chain them up so they can’t run, believing he’s doing the best. while kalim loathes violence and death, if he truly does believe it’s “needed”, he might pay his family’s assassins to silently get rid of threats, but he’ll be very careful to keep this a secret from his darling. talks a lot about the future and how he’ll marry his darling and how good life will be
jamil viper wants to be, for once, the most important person to someone. he wants to be seen for all he is and congratulated, worshipped. his obsession starts with being praised and given attention, and suddenly he wants more. jamil has no issue using his unique magic to keep his darling locked in his room and acting as he wants; however, he wants them to act like that out of their own accord. punishments may be verbal or physical, but in the end, he wants his darling to act like they love him without him having to hypnotize them. there’s a fair chance jamil will let kalim know about the situation, albeit word it in such a way kalim believes jamil’s darling is actually a willing lover and lend him an extra room to keep them in or something. jamil will try to avoid getting blood on his hands, but if he sees that it’s going to be better off it he kills people who may try to release his darling or expose him, he’ll gladly remove them from the scene
vil schoenheit finds peace in having someone to control and fuss over. his day to day life is very busy, always having something to do, something to study, maintain his image and his grades and his job. when it comes to his darling, vil feels relaxed when he can simply pamper them like a doll: to have some absolute control for once. he prides himself in how he “polishes” his darling. vil will use any sort of potion, from potent love potions to numbing or calming draughts to keep his darling dumb and pliant under his care. because he believes that hard work means doing everything needed, vil will easily use untraceable poisons to get rid of those he thinks are trying to tarnish his darling. he doesn’t care if the love he’s being showered with comes from a love potion, as long as he feels like he’s being entirely appreciated for who he is (and not just who the world sees him as). he’d trust rook enough to stay around and watch over his darling, but usually he’ll just keep them in his room, knowing full well the potions make them too docile to hurt themselves or make a big mess
rook hunt loves all things beautiful and thinks of his darling as a muse. he’s the very image of the stalker who watches his darling through their day, stealing trinkets and making a small “shrine”, taking creepshots, and sending anonymous letters with enough detail to make his darling scared. he builds up the “fear” (in his mind, he’s just elongating the hunt, making it a game) until he finally catches them and takes his prize home. rook has no problem letting vil know he’s keeping someone locked in: honestly, this isn’t too surprising, and as long as he doesn’t cause trouble, vil might be willing to supply love potions and such to keept he ruckus down. still, rook much prefers to “tame” his darling the natural way- with fear, punishment, and reward. he’ll often make them think they have a chance to escape only to catch them later, crushing their spirits
epel felmier wants to be told he’s strong, he’s manly, he’s his darling’s one and only. he’s grown up seeing the traditional quiet marriages of the people back in his village, and he fully believes he’ll play the role of the supporting, strong, capable man to his darling, meanwhile they’ll be his domestic and pliant spouse (regardless of his darling’s gender). he may use his innocent appearance to fool them into his trap, and then use any means possible to keep them, from mild poisons in food he brings to spells that make their body lock up. he luckily isn’t one for physical punishments, but that can change if his darling tries to insult him or imply he’s effeminate or weak.
idia shroud is a creep. he spies on his darling with the campus security cameras, he sends small drones to spy on them sleeping, when he dares venture out to the campus he nervously pockets their belongings and builds a literal shrine to them. he might even use ortho to lure them into his room- and once they seem to trust him just a little, he strikes and keeps them locked inside. idia is so very aware his darling thinks he’s a weirdo and a creep, but he still wants their affection. idia may force his darling into cosplays of his favourite characters, using empty blackmail threats or threatening to somehow hurt or sabotage the people they care about using his borderline horrifying technological creations. he even uses ortho as leverage, telling them that if they keep acting that way and crying they’re going to worry the small child who sees them as another sibling figure
malleus draconia has never felt this way before and all he knows is he feels a need to keep and protect. his dragon’s instincts are to hoard his treasure, and his darling is the most precious thing to him. malleus keeps his darling captive as part of that hoarding instinct, although he does crave genuine love and becomes frustrated and angry when he doesn’t receive it. if he’s angered enough, malleus might have outbursts where his darling is seriously hurt- although he’ll be very guilty later. he’s very, very jealous of anyone who gets close to his darling, and he really might turn them into a pile of ashes if they irk him wrong. he has his guards and lilia making sure his darling doesn’t run away, although more often than not that’s not even possible with the sleeping curses he puts on his darling while he’s away
lilia vanrouge has been alive for long enough to know he can get away with pretty much anything, and so he really won’t hold back. he’s a sadistic lover, but more than teasing or being mean it’s sometimes him downright enjoying his darling’s pain and misery. he has enough experience to know exactly what to do to make his darling do what he wants without them even realizing they’re playing right into his tricks, and if not, he’s never afraid to come back home a little bit bloody and make his darling guess who he got rid of because they refused to behave. lilia can keep his darling about anywhere; he’s experienced enough with teleportation magic to switch back and forth from NRC to wherever he pleases, but it’s more likely he’ll keep them in his dorm room so he can “play family” with malleus, silver, and his unwilling darling.
silver is just doing what his heart tells him, unaware his love is an obsession. being raised by fae, he isn’t 100% of how human romance and courtship works, and it doesn’t really help his parental figures are either clueless in love or twisted enough to encourage his obsession. silver doesn’t want to punish his darling or bring them harm, but he’s ruthless on those he thinks are threats or are trying to tear him and his darling apart. malleus and lilia let him keep his darling locked in diasomnia, even offering to help keep them locked in when silver falls victim to his sleep. of course, the one thing silver wants is affection and warmth- the kindness and sweetness with which he treats his darling are so contrasting to how ruthlessly he kidnapped them that it’s almost painful to see his sad face when they refuse to embrace him
sebek zigvolt is mad. he’s mad that someone is causing him to be confused and distracted, that he can’t properly protect malleus because his heart is going wild at the thought of some silly human. he takes this anger out on his darling; they think he hates them, at first. but the stares, the blush, the fact he’s stealing their personal belongings, smelling their sweaters he stole before he goes to sleep tell another story. and yet he’s mad; when he kidnaped them, he locks them up, telling them he’s punishing them for distracting him. over time, he’ll give in, once his thirst for affection and for holding his darling override his initial anger. but that won’t change much- he’ll still be controlling, very violent when angered, despite him drinking up their praise and basically begging for their affection

I have a Theory™
but first, a disclaimer: this theory is not meant to imply that I think Marinette is abusive and manipulative like Gabriel. I’m only trying to compare their personalities as far as the way they see the world and approach situations, especially involving their respective love interests. please let me know if the way I phrase something at any point seems like I’m justifying and/or condemning something or someone I shouldn’t be, but also know in advance it is not my intent.
okay okay but hear me out here
what if Marinette and Adrien’s relationship was meant to parallel Gabriel and Emilie’s?? like I don’t know enough to have much of a basis for this theory but just listen okay
we have:
the creative one/(aspiring) fashion designer who:
- is a very talented designer
- is afraid of failure/making mistakes
- has trouble balancing their civilian life with their alter ego
- would do anything to keep their Miraculous identity a secret/to protect themselves and their identity
          - ex: Gabriel letting Simon Says capture him (Simon Says); Gabriel akumatizing himself so his identity won’t be discovered (The Collector)
          - ex: Marinette stealing phones from Adrien (Copycat), Alya (The Mime), and Chloe (Reflekta) for various, mainly self-serving reasons; Marinette (as Ladybug) outing Lila as a liar so Adrien won’t fall for her (Volpina)
- is known for making impulsive decisions and snap judgements that affect other people without considering how those people might be affected
          - ex: Gabriel banning Nino from coming back to the Agreste mansion (Bubbler); Gabriel becoming Hawk Moth under the assumption that Adrien would side with him if he knew what Gabriel was trying to do (Style Queen: “If only I could tell Adrien why I’m doing this. He would understand.”)
          - ex: Marinette shifting blame away from herself and onto the rest of her class when Chloe’s bracelet went missing (Rogercop); Ladybug keeping information from Chat Noir (mainly throughout season 4)
- is intelligent and curious, often coming close to a big revelation only to be dissuaded by a single piece of evidence; interestingly, while they are easily thrown off a trail of otherwise solid evidence, they tend to overcomplicate matters in order to draw suspicion away from themselves
          - ex: Gabriel suspecting Adrien may be Chat Noir, only to drop this theory when he believes he is seeing the two in the same place (Gorizilla)
          - ex: Marinette suspecting Gabriel may be Hawk Moth, only to drop this theory when Gabriel is akumatized (The Collector); Marinette suspecting Chat Noir may also be a student at her school, only to drop this theory when he mistakenly refers to it as an elementary school, while Marinette herself creates a very convoluted plan to cover her tracks (Kwami Buster)
- has a rational-minded “assistant” of sorts who is trusted with their identity
- is connected closely with at least one member of the Bourgeois and Tsurugi families
- is borderline obsessed with their love interest and would do literally anything for them, even if it endangers their identity
          - ex: Gabriel putting the entire city in danger for Emilie many times throughout the course of the series
          - ex: Marinette nearly giving up her Miraculous/revealing her identity to save Adrien (Volpina)
the one in the public eye/model/actor who:
- had blond hair and green eyes, is conventionally attractive
- is associated with birds/feathers
          - ex: Emilie was a previous holder of the Peacock Miraculous
          - ex: while Adrien is allergic to pigeon feathers, there are feathers seen in the background of the famous “Adrien the Fragrance” ad (Gorizilla), and he is also accompanied by birds during a photo shoot (Mr. Pigeon 72)
- is associated with purity/perfection
          - ex: Emilie is pictured surrounded by gold in the mosaic in Gabriel’s office; she is also currently kept in a repository with a transparent case, reminiscent of Snow White’s glass coffin
          - ex: Adrien is referred to throughout the series as “flawless”, “the image of perfection” (Simon Says), and “perfection personified” (Oni-Chan), among other things
- is musically gifted and enjoys music
          - ex: Emilie was a pianist; she also had an extensive collection of records that are currently kept in Adrien’s room (Party Crasher)
          - ex: Adrien is a pianist; Adrien enjoys playing piano duets with other people, including Gabriel (Captain Hardrock), Plagg, and Emilie (Puppeteer 2)
- is associated, however coincidentally, with solitude
          - ex: Emilie’s only known acting role was the lead in a film titled Solitude (Gorizilla)
          - ex: Adrien is often depicted alone or “behind bars” (examples include, Sandboy, Queen Banana, etc.)
- is known to be kind-hearted and generally a nice person, except when the safety of their loved ones is threatened
          - ex: Gabriel compares Adrien and Emilie, calling them “way too overly dramatic” with “quite a temper” when Adrien tells Gabriel to leave in order to avoid capture by Simon Says (Simon Says)
- has damaged a Miraculous
          - this is assuming Emilie is at least partially responsible for the Peacock Miraculous being damaged, as she has canonically used it
          - ex: Adrien was revealed to have damaged the Rabbit Miraculous with a Cataclysm (Timetagger)
- has an off-kilter, lookalike relative
- is connected with at least one member of the Bourgeois and Tsurugi families
          - this is assuming that Emilie knew both families, as it is more than likely she did due to the fact that Gabriel has done business with the Tsurugis in the past and Chloe was a childhood friend of Adrien’s)
- has a job that places them in the public eye, as opposed to their love interests’ more “behind-the-scenes” careers
          - ex: Emilie was an actress, while Gabriel is a reclusive fashion designer who is not known for his public appearances
          - ex: Adrien is a model, among other things, and while Marinette has created pieces for others to model, she herself has never been on the runway
now, we don’t really know much about what Emilie was like as a person or how she behaved relationship-wise (although I may have a similarly long post about that coming soon if I have the motivation to post it), so this is just based off the bits and pieces we do know
so, in conclusion...
age-swap AU where Marinette uses the Butterfly Miraculous to bring Adrien back while Gabe and Emilie have a cute high school romance
thank you for coming to my ted talk

I’m low-key sad that they gave Rio a boss, I always thought he was the boss😭
Tbh I always figured that he answered to someone, one of the main reasons being that he does too much of his own dirty work to truly be the boss, because part of getting to the top is being able to delegate. But in general, the faces you see are usually always accountable to somebody. I don’t imagine his boss is someone that tells him what to do on a daily basis, gives him orders about which business to be involved with, who to kill etc. I think it’s more somebody who he’s accountable to financially (possibly someone who mentored him in the early days) and when he isn’t meeting demands, things get messy.
Not gonna lie, I went off on a little bit of a tangent about my own theories under the cut. Oops 🤣
Idk if you’ve seen it, but I was a really big fan of the show Power, and the organisational structure of the criminal empire on that show is quite similar to what I’ve pictured Rio being involved with. On this show you’ve got your two main protagonists (Ghost and Tommy) who are huge drug traffickers, so ultimately they’re accountable to cartels that supply them with drugs.
But then within their territory (New York City), they work with various different gangs. So they would import the drugs from Mexico, break the shipment into smaller batches and distribute among street gangs to be dealt. Each of those gangs has its own leader, who ultimately answers to Ghost and Tommy. The members of those gangs, more often that than not, have absolutely no idea who Ghost and Tommy are. Those gangs operate as their own entities and shit would only hit the fan if they aren’t fulfilling their end of the bargain. In the same way, Ghost and Tommy would have minimal interaction with cartel leaders unless something went wrong.
So, when it came to Rio and good girls I always felt like the person at the top was probably supplying Rio with capital and connections, as opposed to product. E.g he gets the money to import the pills from Canada, he needs to find a means to get them across the border (cars), he also finds his own system of distributing the pills in the form of various dealers and possibly street gangs (Dylan, the men at the house in 2.07). Rio then makes a profit on the pills and has to pay his boss.
With the counterfeit operation, I suspect that wasn’t something Rio facilitated himself and his boss probably made the connection for him as well as possibly setting up the warehouse we saw in 1.03, but Rio needed to come up with his own method of laundering the fake cash. Again, he probably used a network of smaller gangs in the same way Beth did with Gil, paid them a percentage for washing the cash, paid his boss a percentage for financing the operation and then kept the remainder for himself, laundering it through legitimate businesses to avoid the IRS.
So Rio basically runs the day-to-day operations of his own business, lots of the people below him probably don’t have any idea who his boss is. Technically speaking, I think he is the boss, he just has people to answer to.

tell us more abt the hannibal and black sails parallels pls
Okay, first off, I am so sorry this took so long!! I’ve been moving and shit has been so busy.
Second, yay!! This question. Now I have an excuse to ramble.
Okay so, the two shows do have a lot of similarities. The big one you notice right off the bat is that both have an extremely codependent relationship at the center.
There are a ton of ways the Flint-Silver and Hannibal-Will relationships parallel, like, they both talk about melding minds with another person, being monstrous, reveling in being monstrous, being made complete by an unlikely source, personas/playing roles/person suits, knowing yourself more completely next to another person, darkness as a source of freedom, something beyond choice/being drawn inexorably into a person’s destructive orbit and being forever changed by it. They deal with the nature of truth, both have supernatural elements, both have religious imagery connected to one half of the ship (Flint and Hannibal both compared to god).
Also, both shows end with an impossible choice and, ostensibly, tragedy; and they both have open endings that are interpretable based on what you want to believe.
But at a certain point, the similarities end and the two shows veer off from each other. Namely, the dynamics between the two ships are fundamentally different in a lot of ways, and it's more interesting to look at the ways in which they don't parallel. At the end of the day, the biggest one is that Silverflint is not anywhere near as destructive, whereas for Hannigram, mutual self-destruction is sort of the name of the game. Silverflint may be as codependent but I think the important addition of either Madi or Thomas or (ideally) both, helps make the relationship a lot healthier. If they would actually just talk to each other and work some shit out, it could be great. This is of course contingent on whether you think one or the other could compromise. (The compromise being that they come to some middle ground between Flint giving up the big picture Cause for personal happiness, or Silver throwing in genuinely with the idea of revolution and it being worth the risk of the people most important to him.) The end tragedy of Black Sails sets us in a spot where it doesn’t seem like either Flint or Silver are willing to do so, but perhaps one or the other could grow and change (with helpful mediation, as stated.)
Whereas Hannigram, well. It’s rooted from the very beginning in gaslighting, manipulation, and a completely skewed power balance. It’s absolutely like, this person has done so much bad shit to you, they’ve killed people you love, they’ve sent people to kill you, they’ve lied to you, isolated you, made you fundamentally doubt what kind of person you are etc. But still, you literally can’t cut them out of your life because nothing is ever going to compare to the experience of having them around even if it’s, most often, largely a negative influence. Like, damn. So dark, so unhealthy. They’re the zero-sum game.
For Will it’s: you love this terrible, terrible thing and you hate yourself for loving it, but also can’t deny it and it makes you feel alive. And for Hannibal, Will’s really the only person who can understand and accept him, but also is uniquely positioned to be able to lie to him, manipulate him in return, and be his utter ruin. They both tried to cut each other out and it didn’t work. So, can’t live with him and can’t live without him. That’s why we end with a cliff dive (impossible choice), Will can’t abide the thought that this thing that is objectively terrible, this ugly thing, is the thing he wants desperately, but he also can’t give it up. So it’s like, “let me try to do my last little bit to society by throwing both our asses off of this cliff b/c we’re both terrible.” Will is so interesting b/c he is at all times living in both the dark and the light and has trouble reconciling these opposing drives. It’s a function of his magic empathy.
(I think they’re metaphorical cliffs also b/c like.... there are no cliffs in Maryland jsyk. What is it with these shows that I like and Metaphorical Cliffs. Edit: I have been corrected there are some cliffs in Maryland but they're not as absurdly high as the ones in Hannibal.)
Anyway, let’s do the one-to-one and talk about Empathy and my Mirrorball boys first. Silver and Will are both extremely good at reading people, seeing what they most need to be, and shapeshifting into it. They both have the ability to shrug on different personas as easy as changing clothes. HOWEVER, the way in which they view this ability is very different. For Will, it’s a curse, he literally cannot turn it off, can’t stop himself from doing it, and it torments him. And I think for Silver, he also does it unconsciously and can’t help himself, but it’s not a torment in the same way. It’s rooted in survival and is an acquired skill that a very intelligent mind learned in order to stay alive. Though I would say they could commiserate on their mirrorball tendencies getting them into trouble/in over their heads.
As for Flint and Hannibal parallels? Well Hannibal is the unrepentant monster who revels in wickedness and largely views the rest of humanity as inferior. He’s having an absolutely excellent time murdering and cannibalizing folks, and the only real thorn in his side is Will Graham and his inability to kill Will b/c Hannibal loves him.
I think Hannibal is the absolute beast that Flint fears himself to be. And though both are presented as the “destructive orbit” or “intoxicating presence” and both perpetrate great violence... well they’re on opposite ends of the spectrum as far as how they view those behaviors. Flint is drowning in guilt constantly, hates that he has to be this monster, the persona of the dread pirate Captain, and that he’s losing more and more of his humanity every time he does some heinous shit. Whereas Hannibal is a “happy little duckling,” literally feels zero guilt about his heinous acts. Hannibal’s playacting a real man in a lot of ways while Flint is playacting a monster. So, Flint wears a monster suit and Hannibal wears a person suit.
Anyway, I could go on and on about this. The way they use supernatural elements, the way characters embed multiple meanings in subtextual dialogue, how well quotes from Silverflint can transfer to Hannigram and vice versa. Oh the way each show deals with like, queer issues, disability issues. etc etc ad infinitum
But I’ll let this be it for now, lol. If you wanna hear me ramble more, let me know~
THANKS AGAIN FOR ASKING.
