I feel like we dont talk about one of the main reasons nico was ostracized at camp, not just because hes a son of hades.

Camp half blood is small enough so that rumors and information spread fast, but that doesn't mean they are always right. So imagine you're a random camper, and you're told nico, one of the new campers, gets in a big fight with Percy. During which he makes skeletons appear and somehow opens a huge crack in the floor. But percy wins and nico leaves camp.

Don't you think it would've rang a bell?

Don't you think it would've reminded them too much of two summers ago, with luke?

Dont you think everyone would've been even more scared, because now they know nico is a child of hades, one of the big three, and therefore very powerful?

There must have been so many rumors that summer of nico being part of the kronos army. Betraying camp just like luke did.

Of course after the battle of manhattan many people would've changed their minds. Hes in their side now, after all. But there are probably still many campers who think nico left them to join luke, before he changed their mind and helped them win against luke and kronos. People who still hold a grudge against him for joining the "enemy".

Odypen definitely and equivalently adore each other BUT I weirdly can't see them as the type to actually say "I Love you".

They still definitely vocalize their love for each other but it's more so in "My Joy", and "Extraordinary Woman", "Strange Woman/Man", etc. And very cheesy lines (both say some cheesy shit in the Odyssey, and he definitely does in the Iliad as well. "Joy like a drowning sailor seeing land" bit???)

I could see "I adore you" but even then, that's probably during very specific moments but the actual "I love you"??? I just typed it just now for fic shit and... It weirdly just didn't feel right and I don't know why. 😅

Idk maybe it's kind of because I see them as over the top in ways, they love wordplay and riddles and I think they'd almost think "...That's not good enough >:( " about it??? I don't know???😂

Kafka, a bit conservative, and rather old-fashioned. A wild and hot take, I know (somehow), and yet I can't seem to read her any other way than that. I don't see a woman who dresses to impress others, I see a woman who dresses as she does because presentation is part of being. I don't see a woman who is inherently materialistic, and yet I still see a woman who bears a certain level of refined taste(s) in many things. I see a woman who would find an appeal and attraction in the manners of old, and you would a smile settling on her lips if she caught even the smallest glimpse of it anywhere still in the world around her. It's truly a dying art. But in that, I also absolutely do not see this woman as sleeping around by any means, it's reserved for dynamics dabbling in romantic nature without a single question of a doubt. This too, plays into an element of class that belongs to her like second nature (no, it's not nurtured to me), but more so than anything, despite the natural tendency for destruction that we've seen her capable of (a consequence of disconnect tied in with boredom, if you will): Kafka seems to approach many things in life with a semblance of respect. From how she fiddles to rectify her attire, to the rare things that she collects, to people's right to choice, to the social etiquette we see her practice, to the value we see her set to privacy; respect seems to be an odd trait that she possesses. Odd perhaps, to think of it for her, but when you look at the details, I feel like it's quite present.

But I digress, propriety and modesty are, in my opinion, deeply ingrained in her person and this means that a lot is kept behind lock and key. She will not lean into you unless you've intricately caught her interest and most importantly: kept it; you will not catch the bare expanse of a palm, unless you have an explicit reason to see it— Kafka lives within the distant senses, she's the fragrance that lingers when she's long gone, she's the shadow that you think you still see from the corner of your eye when she hasn't been there in days, she's the quiet, gentle laugh that you can't quite put out of your mind and ache to know the nature of. So when she stays, when she exists in your direct, and close proximity, she's already made a decision, there's already a choice made there, a commitment, if you will. Be it one of enduring curiosity, or one nestled in budding longing. But, remember, she's old-fashioned, she will smile, she will chuckle when the moment warrants it, she's clear, but she remains a woman of an older time, and so the initiation lies with you, no matter how much she might tempt your curiosity one step at a time, if you captured the attention of her own.
