Aizawa (Canon): 

Honestly if you manage to get away from Aizawa you already must be either A. Incredibly lucky, or B. Incredibly skilled. Most likely? A bit of both. He tends to be a bit more of a lax yandere, he isn’t constantly in your face, but he definitely be on edge about you escaping. Windows and doors have several sets of locks, anything you can use to break or pick the locks will be kept out of your reach ontop of being behind yet another lock. Now if you actually managed to escape? Game on. Maybe he forgot to lock a window airing out the apartment, or maybe you managed to get your hands on a key or something to break the locks. Either way you are out the door in an instant. 

Now if you are escaping at night? He’ll have you back in a few hours at the latest. He is trained to hunting villains down in the pitch black, slinking in the shadows as he stalks and hunts his pray. You have no chance beating him in his own territory. You’re a fool to even try. 

Now during the day is a completely different story. He isn’t in his element during that time, theres more people out on the streets, and lets be honest, he looks suspicious. Even with his popularity growing after being on the news a few times people wont ignore some homeless ragged looking man snatching up a screaming frightened civilian. He knows it too. Unlike at night when people turn a blind eye, people will get more involved if you fight him in broad daylight, he’ll get more attention drawn to him and thats the last thing he needs. If you play your cards right, if you’re smart and have a plan I can see you evading him for maybe a week before he finds you again. He’s smart, cunning, calculating, even if you stay in the shadows, careful to avoid using anything that he could use to track you, he’ll still find you. It’s what he’s good at after all. 

Aizawa (A/B/O):

Shigaraki (Canon): 

Getting away from Shigaraki is hard to say the least. Not only are you running from him, but all his little friends too. You are the only thing that keeps him semi-calm, makes him tolerable to be around, when you are around, forcefully held still in his lap, or board stiff as he cuddles up to your back, fingers idly dragging across your abdomen he is much more focused. Ever since he kidnapped you his plans have been better, he’s been more down to earth, less irritable. His shoulders lost their tension, he physically relaxed, and as the robot rambled on, divulging way too much about himself and his goals, he found himself… interested, and intrigued, offering insight as a man who was looking for someone just as hard, hardly noticing as one by one people filtered out, the other Legends heading home until it was just the two of them, and Elliott, closing up the bar.

 “You two good to get home?” He asked, twirling the keys to the Paradise lounge around his finger.

Crypto nodded, flinching a little as Pathfinder slapped a hand down on his shoulder.

“Crypto promised to share a taxi with me! I’m so excited!”

The trickster raised an eyebrow, a small smirk forming on his lips. “Oh yeah? Check you out, kid. Making friends. Wasn’t so hard to get that stick out of your ass, huh?”

“Ip dakchyeo.”

“Yeah, you too, buddy.”

The hacker zipped up his coat again and looked away, shoving his hands in his pockets and continued to wait at the door, for Elliott to usher the two of them out, and lock up, heading to his car and leaving the two of them, alone, in the glow of the streetlight and Pathfinder’s presence, as he quietly bounced in place.

“Are you not cold?” The robot asked, looking down.”

“Ah, I’m fine.”

“Are you sure?”

“Mhm.”

Pathfinder blinked, before nodding to himself, taking off the warm scarf around his neck and tying it around Crypto’s, making the hacker flinch again.

“Wait, I said-”

“It’s OK, I don’t really need it.” He gently tied it, expertly creating a small bow from the side, where it practically drowned Crypto’s face. “It looks nice on you, friend!”

He swallowed, looking down at his feet, and mumbling a thank you, enough to satisfy the other legend to take his attention away. Once he did that, Crypto dared to bring up his hand, running his fingertips across the softest tartan he had felt in a long time, and the light smell of motor oil that lingered to the fabric.

 The taxi soon arrived, and the two of them got in, Crypto silently cursing Elliott to himself for not offering them a ride. It certainly would have made things a little less awkward. Did he know too much? The look he gave him certainly seemed like a catch on. He wasn’t here to make friends. He knew he wasn’t. But the draw of some people, or robots, was almost too much for him to bear, it seemed, as Pathfinder talked his ear off for the entire journey, voice more like music than white noise as Crypto stared out of the window, assessing his thoughts in the night, the evening he realised that maybe, just maybe, he liked Pathfinder.

Second attempt at this since last time Chrome just DIED for no reason...

Im going to put literally the entire thing with Cinder under one note; Called it.

Its a great set of stuff, sure, but it doesnt relaly tell us anything we didnt already know about Cinder, and I personally feel it doesnt really explain why she turned out the way she did. I feel like we’ve had another weird twist of the situation again...M+K? Coronas fault? Who knows. Either way, this section isnt great by my taste and I kinda skipped most of it. 

Few things to note though; Apperently in Mistral scrubbing by hand is still more viable floor cleaning tech than using Dust.

The wind vane on the roof has the Rooster Teeth symbols rooster on it. 

The hotel Cinder is bought by is named the Glass Unicorn, fittingly enough for...several reasons. 

The coffees behind the stepsisters when we first see them are the animated versions of the real life stuff RT put out just before this season went live. 

No one seems to notice the fact cinder has orange eyes. I wonder if weird eye colors are just a THING in Remnant?

The control collar/shock thing is incredibly inefficient in design, since it doesnt actually hold on to her very well. A more effective brace/choker design would have worked better.

The song that goes on during all of this is...kind of obvious and a little bland? Fitting for younger Cinder I guess. 

Mmm. Random greasy huntsman. 

I guess in Atlas its fine to laugh at struggling teenagers?

Im going to assume there’s a 3+ year gap here where she gets older, cause she stops being smol and gets closer to how we see her now.

Also even here, in Atlas...really? The most effective way to clean these carpeted floors is to have a TEENAGER SCRUB THEM BY HAND?

And how you tell civilians are lame in Atlas; they are impressed...by a sword.  Just a sword. A boring, half-cut sword. Losers.

I assume this would be Cinder’s semblance manifesting. Also note on the desk; “we do not serve faunus”. Well THAT doesnt surprise me.

I think this is the first time we’ve seen the other side of the moon. Or at least, the proper other side...bloody hell I STILL dont know how all those piesces are still held in place, the thing looks like it should start yeeting bolides at Remnant. 

Better still we see it MOVE, rotate in time to the passing of years. So it literally does rotate on its own axis, and more importantly, unlike OUR moon, its NOT tidally locked. We only ever see the same side of our moon. REmnants rotates MUCH faster. Also it doesnt seem to have phases like ours does. I’ll check on why that is. 

Well at least we have an explanation for why Cinders so damn good at fighting people. Trained by an Atlas Huntsman.

Also as a note the device is quite literally just an electrical Dust crystal attached to a necklace. Things the most inefficent torture device Ive ever fucking seen. 

Wonder how often they have to change the crystal.

Proposal Addict

The two of you had barely started dating when he first asked you. To be fair, he was incredibly drunk and mumbling nonsense in a mix of Russian and English as you carefully led him up the stairs and into his room, umming and ahhing where appropriate as his huge form leans heavily on you, causing you to stumble. That’s when you catch a genuine question through the mess.

“Ty tak khorosho zabotish'sya obo mne. Vykhodi za menya, roza?” You look up at him in slight confusion.

“Zhuk, I don’t speak Russian remember? Can you repeat it?” You ask him as you push him onto the bed, yelping when his hands grab your wrists to pull you down with him. It takes a few seconds for him to remember what he said and translate it, his face unusually expressive as you watch amused at the sight of him try to use his alcohol-soaked brain.

“Will you marry me?” His words are slurred and his accent his thick, but you know instantly what has been said.

You know that he was too drunk to mean it, and telling him so would just end with him insisting that you were wrong. So, instead, you lean in close to kiss him gently before pulling back. “Ask me again tomorrow.”

“Why?” This was as close to whining at the Russian would ever get to, and you found it adorable. You shrug.

“I might just say yes.” A happy purr radiates from his body as he slowly starts to fall asleep, snoring loudly as his arms keep you trapped against his chest.

After that, it just became a regular occurrence. Zhuk knew he wanted to marry you pretty much the day he met you, and even though you thought he was joking with the constant proposals, it always made him smile that you never said no, just to ask again the next day. Which he did. Every single day.

Sitting next to each other by the fire, reading whilst holding hands? Well, you were reading, Zhuk was looking down at you with a small, fond smile on his face. “Dorogaya?”

“Mm?”

“Will you marry me?”

“Ask me again tomorrow, perhaps then I’ll say yes.” You lock eyes with him, a small smile on your lips as you both allow yourself to feel comfort from the inside joke.

Walking alongside one another in the garden in total silence? Zhuk would always pull you down to sit on one of the few seats and get down on one knee in front of you, a ring made out of strands of long grass he’s picked at in his hands. “Marry me, malishka?” You take the ring and put it on calmly before kissing the back of his hand, the smirk on your lips giving away your answer already.

“Ask me again tomorrow, lyubimiy. I might just say yes.”

A rare night where you could both just lay in bed together, enjoying each other’s company in silence when suddenly Zhuk says in a quiet voice ‘Y/N, ty lyubov' vsey moyey zhizni, vykhodi za menya zamuzh?’, you don’t even need the translation to know what he’s asked.

“Ask me again tomorrow, dorogoi, perhaps then I’ll say yes.”

He only ever questioned it once. You wanted to go to a market to check out the stalls, and he never could deny you anything. You were looking over a blurb of an old, worn novel when he asked you quietly. “Marry me, kiska?”

Quickly you reply. “Ask me again tomorrow, I might just say yes.” He chuckles, unable to hold back the smile on his face as you put the book back, clearly not interested once you’d read the back.

“Why is it you never say yes?” You blink as you put your hand around his arm and start to walk towards the next stall. You seem to consider your answer before you finally give it.

“Because I never want to stop hearing you say it.” You finally confess as you meet his eyes briefly, only pulling away when your attention is pulled away from him and towards the seller of the stall.

It was a couple of years before your answer changed. It was nothing special, to be honest, Zhuk thought you were going to say the same mantra you had repeated every day and for once wasn’t going to ask. When you brought it up as you sat comfortably in his lap with his arms around you, you could almost feel the shrug. “Will your answer change if I ask?”

You hum. “You never know until you ask.” He chuckles.

“Marry me, tsarina?”

“Yes.”

There is a pause as he pulls back to look down at you, your face spit with a cheeky grin. Clearly, he wasn’t expecting that and it was a rare occasion you got one up on your partner. “Y/N?” You hum to let him know you’re listening. “Is this-”

“Legit? Uh-huh.” You turn so you are straddling him, arms locked around his neck. “Zhuk, moya lyubov', I love you more than anything else on this earth. Every day with you feels like what heaven should feel like. I want nothing more than to be able to call you my muzh. So yes, dorogoy, I’ll marry you.”

Both of you ignore the Irish accented ‘fookin’ finally’ that comes from the room next door as he pulls you down for a slow, deep kiss as he slides the ring that he totally has not been keeping in his pocket for over a year now over your finger.

You figured it’d stop there, you were engaged, why would he continue to ask? But he still did, every day. And, just like always, you’d smile and tell him to ask you again tomorrow. During the stress of planning a wedding that was suitable for the both of you, it was a nice reminder that through it all, you loved each other. And the comfort you found with your little exchange helped with your pre-wedding jitters. When you wake up the morning of your wedding, you roll your eyes when you see him looking down at you with a small smile on his face.

“Marry me, kroshka?” You snort before moving to snuggle up against him.

“Ask me again in 8 hours. I might just say yes.” You tease before kissing his chest lightly. “I’ll see you at the altar.” You promise as you stand up to get ready. He grumbles as you leave the bed, clearly wanting you to stay with him for a bit longer. “Remember your promise?” You ask just as you throw on your robe and move to sneak back into the master bedroom, your maid of honour insisting the two of you spend the night apart for good luck, even though everyone knew any attempt to keep Zhuk from you would be foolish. What they didn’t count on was you sneaking out to be with him.

“I won’t make you cry.” He repeats the promise you made him make when the both of you started to write your vows.

“Good. If anything smudges, you’ll be facing the wrath of my cousin, got it?” You warn playfully before walking back over to the bed and leaning in to kiss him softly. “At the altar?”

“At the altar.” He says against your lips, hands resting over yours. You have to pull away, knowing he won’t be the one to move away first. Once you’re out the door, he falls back onto the bed with a thud. He hated wedding traditions.

The morning was hectic, everyone rushing around to get last-minute preparations organised and to get the two of you where you needed to be on time. It was all a blur for the both of you, being pulled in different directions by different people who seemed to have a better idea of what was going on and what was happening, when it was happening and where it was happening. Still, Zhuk stood in front of the mix of both your and his friends and family right on time, just as you were rocking up to be walked down the aisle.

Zhuk rarely cried, and never did so in public. But seeing you in your wedding dress that just seemed to accentuate your beauty and made you, if even possible, even more perfect than usual in his eyes? He was in awe, and in shock that this was finally, actually happening.

Once he took your hand and lead you up in front of the priest, he couldn’t take his eyes off of you. Everything was muffled. To the point that you had to nudge him when the priest asked him for him to read his vows three times. He could feel the amusement from his comrades but brushed it off as he starts to recite the words that took him months to perfect, having annoyed Scarafaggio and Scarabee over it near daily. He just wanted it perfect for you.

"For far many more years than I care to admit, I existed in darkness. I saw the sun, but didn't feel its warmth. I knew the stars were there, but felt none of their enchantment. You, dorogoy, were the light my life was missing. From the moment you set foot into my life, you've been a candle to my darkened soul, a beacon to my lost heart. With you by my side, I have no need of the moon, the sun, or the stars. You are my sun. You are my moon. You outshine all the stars in the night sky. I have asked you many, many times now, darling, if you would marry me, and each time you've smiled and told me to ask you again tomorrow. Even as we stand here, know that I will never stop asking you to be mine, just as I will never stop loving you. Moy svet. Moya lyubov'. Moya vse. Moya prekrasnaya zhena. Will you marry me?" He squeezes your hand as he finishes, your eyes welling up throughout.

You can’t hold back your tears as he finishes his vows. “You bastard, you swore you wouldn’t make me cry.” You whisper out, causing a chuckle from the crowd. “I’m tempted to say tell you to ask me again tomorrow just to see what you’ll say,” you start as his hand moves up to thumb away your tears, being careful not to smudge anything, “but yes. Moy obozhayushchiy muzh, I’ll marry you.”

To be honest, you thought once you were married the proposals would stop, but the only thing that changed was the frequency. Instead of daily, it was near daily.

The first time it happened after the wedding was literally hours after the reception. The both of you decided you needed a minute just to relax and ended up just lying on the bed, you on top of him as you rest your head against his chest, his hands cascading through your hair and tracing nonsense patterns against the skin of your back.

“Marry me, moya zhena?” You look up at him as he just smirked down at you. You roll your eyes.

“We just- We are- Fuck it. Ask me tomorrow. If you’re lucky, I might say yes, moy muzh.” You shake your head in amusement as you lean back down.

So it continued, every moment he felt the urge to propose, the words just seemed to slip out. Sometimes, you’d remind him you were already married to which he’d reply “ah. Well, that makes me a lucky man. Marry me again, moya zhena?” You’d roll your eyes and tell him to ask again the next day with a small smile and blush across your face. Other times, you’d just tell him to ask again tomorrow, perhaps the answer will be yes. Like your own special declaration of love for one another, only something about it felt deeper than just the two of you saying ya lyublyu tebya.

Then, it happened. To be fair, it was bound to happen eventually, Zhuk was surprised it took as long as it did, but still, it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

He got hurt.

To be fair, it wasn’t lethal, but it still knocked him around a little bit. By the time he was brought home, he was unconscious with Bee making sure he slept and wasn’t in pain. He was aware that you were in the room with him, his hands itching just to be able to hold yours. He could vaguely hear Scarabee telling you that it was a near miss, that he was incredibly lucky, and that he’d be fine in a couple of days. Your hand slipped into his and his whole body seemed to relax. It always just felt right when your hands were in his.

He slept for what felt like weeks, but was really just a couple of days. You didn’t leave his side once, having one of the staff bring you food, and the other dons would periodically call in to check on you. Still, your hand never left his as you anxiously waited for him to wake up.

It was late, the sun had gone down and you were sleeping when he started to stir. Him squeezing your hand and groaning lowly at the slight pain caused you to wake up with a jolt, but waiting in silence to see if he was alright. His voice is weak, but still, he manages to say what was on his mind. “Marry me, moya prekrasnaya zhena?”

You look at him in disbelief because you start hitting him, each smack feeling like nothing as you continue to slap at his skin, crawling into his lap to get better coverage of his body. “You, you bastard, don’t you come in here with your moya prekrasnaya zhena bullshit, you are hurt! You could have died! What the fuck, Zhuk, what the fuck is wrong with you?” You stop hitting him in favour of just laying down on top of him as you start to sob against his skin. “I thought I was gonna lose you. Never seen you so still.” He hushes you as his hands move to squeeze you tight against him.

“You didn’t answer my question, moye solntse i zvezdy.” He reminds you gently.

“Ask me again tomorrow, it might be a yes when I’m not pissed off.” You grumble into his skin, causing him to laugh lightly. “Not off the hook, mister.”

“I know, moya zhena, I know.”

It was a few weeks later that you celebrated your second wedding anniversary. The both of you decided to go to a smaller part of town to a restaurant the both of you liked. You had requested minimum security, just wanting the night to be between you and Zhuk complied. Afterall, who would go after either of you in a small restaurant in his own district.

Turns out, an idiot would.

You walked out in front of him, thanking him for holding the door and reaching back to link arms with him. He saw your face go from one of pure bliss and happiness to one of pain and confusion before he heard the shots. He yelled for someone to go after the shooter and another to call a medic as he helped you to the ground, ripping your shirt back to see the damage. The bullet was still inside, but you were bleeding out pretty heavily. Clearly, it had nicked an artery, or perhaps even your heart. He didn’t care, he just wanted you to not be in pain. You gasp out loudly as he balls up his jacket and puts pressure on the wound, causing the pain to increase as your blood soaks into the dark fabric. “Zhuk.” Your voice is already weaker than usual. “Zhuk, look at me.”

“You’ll be fine, Y/N.” He assures you. “We will get you to the hospital, they’ll take care of you, just- just- stay with me, please tsarina.” He begs. It breaks your heart to hear his voice so weak and broken, as if he knows the prognosis without even needing a medic’s opinion. Still, he held onto hope.

Your hand moves up to brush away unshed tears, even though you have to pull back when your muscles become weak. “Zhuk. Moy muzh. Will you marry me?” You say with a small smile on your face, tears streaming down your face.

Zhuk tries to blink away the few that are threatening to fall, but they land on your cheeks despite his attempts. “Ask me again tomorrow, I might just say yes.” He says with a broken smile as he pushes down harder.

Your laugh is breathy when you hear your answer, going to reply when you realise it's too hard. You breath one more time, eyes locked on his as you try to portray how much you love him through them before your chest settles, and your eyes go glassy.

The shouting of ‘no, no, no, Y/N, moya zhena, please, no’ alerted the paramedics to where you were exactly, rushing in to try and pull your rapidly cooling body away from the sobbing Russian, large body seeming to be impossibly small as he clings to you as if you would wake up in his arms and reassure him it's fine.

Instead, you slept on.

It was a risk worth taking in your eyes, helping so many lost and helpless Androids flee was the most important thing to you.

Unheard to you, both the Lieutenant and Connor talked outside the room, every now and again glancing into the room behind the incredibly conspicuous one way mirror. “This is the first human lead we have in this case, Lieutenant. But we can’t move forward if she refuses to talk to us.” Connor pointed out, he was truly taken with you.

You seemed to be the type of unpredictable that he wasn’t programmed for, it was a note he had hard wired down somewhere to tell CyberLife for improvements and enhancements.

“I just don’t get why a human would be helping Androids - Deviants actually, if she even is helping them. I don’t see you being much help getting information out of her, stay here and let me talk to her.” Hank was curious of your motives, like most people would be, but it seemed he held a certain sympathy toward you given the fact you aren’t an Android.

He entered the room, eyeing you with curiosity before pulling a seat out, ensuring it dragged across the floor to conjure an unpleasant sound as he seated himself. “Have you finished with the silent treatment?” Hank questioned, making note to look into your eyes for signs of odd expressions.

“Have you found something to charge me for, Lieutenant?” You raised a brow, a challenge if you will. They couldn’t properly charge you for assisting Androids without a verbal confession or evidence and if you were going to be stuck here for performing selfless acts then you weren’t going down easily. At least until Connor saw that or Hank. “hmm so far we can only charge you for stealing work assets, but there’s much more going on isn’t there?”

You nodded, “the crime rates increased I know that much, Deviancy has increased because of ill-treatment. Thats whats going on here. Did you ever stop to consider the possibility that those Androids don’t like being beaten to near shut down sometimes?” You were a small margin of people that would gladly help the cause against ill-treatment of Androids.

“What are you implying?” Hank questioned, he leaned forward onto the table, his arms crossed over his chest as if it would intimidate you. “I’m implying nothing, but I have a question, Lieutenant. Did you ever like history at school?” An odd question it was but regardless of her situation it prompted an answer, even as simple of a head nod.

“You were born in the seventies or eighties? Then you grew up most of your life with racism, and history was taught with scarcity about the slave trades when America became populated. You should know that history is always due to repeat itself so why are Androids so different? What, because they aren’t flesh and bone? They’re flesh, but it’s still a being underneath regardless of their interior. Why should we deny their right to be free, it’s no different than the racism we were so quick to ban post 2024.”

The words you articulated engaged a reaction from Hank and Connor - not that you saw him. Instead of inspiring Hank like you had intended too he simply shook his head, still remaining indifferent toward Androids maybe with a slight change of heart but you couldn’t tell. “If you aren’t going to be any help then i’ll be on my way-”

“If I may, Lieutenant. Perhaps I could try.” Connor’s voice was a surprise to you, you hadn’t seen him come in at all and neither did Hank given his reaction. “Knock yourself out, kid. She’s not gonna talk.” Hank stood, seemingly tired as neither him or you had slept at all through the night.

He left the small room and now it was just you and Connor, the first time you’d speak to him directly. “Y/N, you said you worked at CyberLife, at your house. An engineer, correct?” He sat where Hank previously sat and rested his arms on the table. His LED flashed as he was probably trying to configure the best approach to get an answer from you.

“Yeah… I’ve never had the pleasure of working on your model before.” You pointed out, it wasn’t a lie that you were immensely intrigued by the series and what parts functioned differently to others. “Would you say you understand Deviant behaviour? Know what could trigger them, perhaps a software problem?”

Shaking your head you smiled at the Android, he was definitely innocent toward the deviant situation despite he was most likely programmed to hunt them. “It’s much more than a software programming issue…” You trailed off as you thought of something that could potentially help yourself and help the climbing numbers of deviant androids.

“I am willing to exchange information with you once you understand the deviant issue better. I think it’s important for you to understand the bigger picture, doll… You hear that Hank!” You shouted out, waiting momentarily before Hanks voice filled the room over a speaker. “Loud and clear.”

Connors head tilted slightly, trying his hardest to understand and decrypt the words you said. “I don’t… Understand…” he softly spoke, the LED glowing yellow. “I understand Androids better than they can understand themselves, you’re no different. I’ll help you to some degree but if helping you means killing innocent Androids then the deals off.”

Silence ensued between the two of you, it was like you could literally hear him think.

“Perhaps… allowing you to talk with found deviants may be the best approach on this case.” His face twitched slightly as he gathered information that seemed to have a better outcome. After all, you were intriguing to him, an oddity that seemed to stand out in a pixel piece of normalities.

“- suspect was owned by Carlos Ortiz, found in the attic sixteen days after he murdered his owner.” Hank debriefed you, sitting in front of you was the somber looking Android. You examined the state of him, he looked just like any other Android who walked through your door which was sad.

The cuffs hung tightly around your wrists still but it didn’t stop you from pacing around the small room. “Did you happen to find strange markings… writings on the wall in the home?” You questioned, stopping your feet to lean against the metal table. You looked between Hank and Connor for an answer. One of them would’ve had to of known the answer, and you put your money on Connor to know it.

“Yes. ra9 was written on the bathroom walls, I had trouble trying to decipher what it could possibly mean.” Connor admitted which made you smile, he was a pragmatic Android and it was a surprise that of his intelligence he didn’t know what it meant yet or at all. You clasped your hands together as you couldn’t do anything else with them and tilted your head slightly. “What do you think it means?”

Connor’s face twitched, formulating a response, “At first I thought it was a malfunction, due to the injuries.” He started, causing you to raise a brow and look down at the Android across the table. “But now I think we need more clues.” He finished confidently.

“Well it’s not a malfunction I can tell you that, it’s a code.” You pushed forward off the table and knelt down in front of the beaten Android. “Lieutenant, I assume my things are in evidence?” You at least watched enough cop shows to understand how they order things, but this entire interrogation on you took a turn and it wasn’t a standard thing you were familiar with.

Hank nodded, his lips pressed into a thin line while he watched you meander with the suspect. “Can you get a canister of blue blood from it?” You asked as you carefully examined the wounds. “It’s in evidence for a reason.” Hank scoffed in response, something you were expecting. “Do you want my help or not?” You turned, the harsh gaze of your eyes locked with Hanks eyes before he reluctantly left the small room.

Connor, much like any normal Android, stood awkwardly behind you, fair enough away to not disrupt any concentration but close enough for it to be unnerving. “You said ra9 was a code. A code for what?” Connors voice startled and unsuspecting you, his voice was rather loud in a room that echoed. “That, I don’t know. Can you check his stress level for me.” You bluntly asked, the tone was telling rather than questioning.

“Stress levels are low, he won’t talk at this percentage. We dealt with this earlier and I would advise you not to provoke him. The consequence could be… catastrophic.” His words were well thought, as you figured they would be but it didn’t deter you from continuing. “Ah, see this is what I mean about understanding the motives of these people. You can run schematics, analytics or outcomes at the drop of a hat, but understanding that they don’t work like that is detrimental to your investigation, Connor.”

You stood up, looking at the slightly perplexed and well dressed Android. “I’ve never worked on your model series before, but I can guarantee that you are systematically the same as every Android I’ve worked on.” You weren’t harsh with your words, actually it appeared that the calmness of your tone seemed to sit well with Connor, appease him almost.

Hank entered into the room with a sour look on his face and carelessly tosses the canister to you. “Is everything okay, Lieutenant?” Connor questioned, a tilt of his head while he seemed to analyse his superior.

“Oh the usual assholes occupying this dump.” He grumbled, most likely in reference to Gavin but that was unknown knowledge to you.

“You two are free to watch but i’d prefer it if you did it in there.” You gestured to room behind the one way mirror. At your behest without argument the two respected your request and left you alone with the Deviant.

Calmly you moved your chair next to the Deviant and examined it more, you softly put the canister on the table in front of it. “I can see you’ve lost some blood… They didn’t tell me what your owner did but I want you to know you’re not the only one.” You spoke, waiting for a response, if any. “I’m sorry I can’t be much help, if I had my toolbox I could fix you right up. But you should drink some of that, I don’t want you to shut down on me okay?”

You could feel the eyes of Hank and Connor watching you, it was nerving of course but you kept calm. It pained you to see a lost Android who didn’t make it out of this dreadful city.

“Why?” His voice seemed to squeak in the silence and immediately caught your attention and the two partners in the room next door. “Why what?” You prompted for him to continue, unsure with what he wanted to know. “You’re… so nice to me… after what I did…” His eyes flickered up to the blue blood before focusing on his hands.

“It’s my understanding that Carlos, your owner, is at fault. You don’t beat someone for the sake of it… In my eyes you’re being human, which you’re allowed to be. Unfortunately my opinion is nothing but some hope for you.” You admitted, call it false hope but it was something to ease his spirits before he could be deactivated.

His eyes focused on you, trying to gather information on you in which he succeeded well. “I never imagined a human as kind as you… You’re the one who helps the Androids, aren’t you?” You weren’t mad that the Android had basically blurted to Hank and Connor that you help Deviants, but at this moment you could only be comforting for him.

“Guilty as charged, it’s a shame you never got around to me… I’m afraid i’ll be spending a long time in here… But for now drink up, you’ll need it.” You smiled kindly at him before standing and looking into the mirror, the smallest movement of your head indicated for the partners to come back inside.

Word Count: 3,800 Warnings: Language,Sexual content implied(I don’t think it’s anything more explicit than what you would find in a Choices 30 diamond scene.) Notes: I miss Dames. I still haven’t forgiven PB. I give them all my monies and they couldn’t give me Dames during the finale. 

Do you ever have the feeling that someone is watching you? You know, when you get those urges to look over your shoulder even though no one has called out your name. Did you really see something out of the corner of your eye or was your mind playing tricks? Or when you suddenly look up from whatever you were concentrating on because you could just feel a pair of eyes locked on to you. Like you can just feel the heat from their body and it sends a thrilling chill right through you? I have been feeling this more and more every day for the past few months.

Maybe I’m paranoid. Maybe it’s wishful thinking. But it feels so incredibly real to me.

I’ve spent countless hours online searching for him…

Keegan hasn’t spoken to me since we took down Rowan and Cecile. She won’t give me any information on what happened to him. I’ve reached out to her and those I’ve found connected to her, but nothing. I don’t know why she’s ignoring me, I proved myself to her before - that I’m on her and all the matches side.

No signs of him and no body found. What the hell is that supposed to mean? I can’t think the worst. I refuse. I know he’s stronger than that. I need to know if Keegan or someone was able to fix his programing, he could have lost so much of what he had by now. He has to be out there somewhere …

That’s why I have spent so much of my down time online. Throwing myself out there. My online alias spreading like wildfire, ThePurpleHairPark. I’m in chat rooms, forums, social media outlets - there’s always someone watching,reading,lurking from behind their screen. The world knows about the matches and there are so many out there helping them. So there has to be someone that has seen him. All I need is one person to point me in the right direction. Or he can come find me. I know he knows how to. Or at least his past memories would.

Melina sits back in her chair staring at the screen. She sighs heavily before she deletes the plead and publishes her newest post to her open forum. Her purple hair slightly covers her face as she hangs her head low. Some strand clinging to her cheeks as tears start to roll down her face. After a deep breath she wipes the tears and gets up to refill on her iced tea.

Melina was at the coffee shop close by to her apartment almost every day. Always getting looks from the customers coming in and out of the shop. She was never quite sure what they thought of her and her laptop sitting in her favorite spot by the window. She didn’t really care, she just wanted to make sure that she could be seen. Her goal was to be seen by him, by Dames.

As Melina stood in line, she checked her phone. No missed calls or texts from Damien. He had been so busy with work since they saved the President, she was thrilled that Damien’s business was booming, but it made it harder for them to make time for each other. They didn’t mind their low-key nights in just them, some takeout (Melina’s cooking still not improving, whoops) and a movie while snuggling on the couch. Yet, with Damien’s ever growing case files he would often come home, grab a snack and head straight to bed. Damien was still supportive of Melina spending time with Hayden, but even she seemed to be too busy for Melina lately.

Melina orders her iced tea - which is on the house, her friend Lily is now working at the register. Lily gives her a wink and flashes her a smile as she shoos Melina along. Melina mouths a, “thank you” as goes to wait for her drink.

Melina never minded being alone and single. There was always something to do, always a way to entertain herself or keep busy until she heard from one of her friends. So why was it now, when she had two loves in her life she felt most lonely? Even Nadia found time to be with Steve and his… abs. Luckily, her cousin would always make time for her at least once a week. But ever since they came out from hiding from Eros’ radar , life never went back to being carefree for Melina.

Her heart had been so full from being loved without judgement from two amazing people in her life, but now that love - where did it go? Had she expected too much? Was it unreasonable of her to want to see them more than 2 or 3 times a week? Melina’s mind often drifted to Dames when she was alone. There was still that spot in her heart reserved just for him. Which often ached at the thought of him, not knowing where he was or if he was even okay.

She had to find him. She needed the answer. Even if he didn’t want to see her again or even want to be with her, she just wanted him to be okay.  

Her name is called and she grabs her rather large drink and heads back to her spot. She stares at her computer a few moments - and there. That feeling. Her face grows warm, her heart begins to beat a little faster, the hairs on the back of her neck stand at attention. Her eyes look up from under her long eyelashes - slowly scanning the faces in front of her, nothing. She slowly turns her head to the left, no one looking at her. Her back is against a wall so it definitely was not coming from behind. Melina bites her lip as she returns her gaze back to her computer. No, no, that feeling is still there.

She froze - too scared to turn her head again. Move your damn head, Melina. Do it. She ordered herself internally. Did her body know something her mind didn’t? She blinked and a tear began to fall. Exhale, Melina - slowly she let out the breath she was holding. Her body relaxed and she allowed herself to look to her right, out the window she always had to sit by.

There he was across the street, just staring at her with his hands in his pockets and a sad look on his face. That creep, that handsome fucking creep.

“Dames…” she breathlessly says out loud. Her eyes grow wide, she has to hurry or she’ll miss him. RUN she screams in her head, RUN MELINA. She scrambles out of her seat, almost knocking her laptop off the table, but she doesn’t care. Her feet threaten to trip over each other, but she corrects herself. She pushes the coffee shop door open hard and fast, if there was someone about to get hit there was no way she was going to notice. She looks across the street again, he’s not there.

No. Fuck this noise. He’s not getting away without saying a word to me.

Melina’s feet take her to the busy New York street. Her first few steps are in the clear. “Dames” she cries out with every ounce of her heart and soul. “Dames, please.” Her next few steps just miss a car passing by. Her head is spinning, the cars honking in the background seem so far away. The yelling from the other pedestrians not even registering. Her feet stay planted in the street as she frantically looks as to which direction he could have gone.

The honking becomes louder and louder, her ears now pounding. That’s when she looks to her right and coming straight for her is a yellow taxi. Time starts to slow, her breath catches - she can’t move, she wants to scream. Then the feeling, when you can feel the heat of their body against yours. Except this time - it’s real. Her focus goes to him, but is blurred in a flash.

Dames grabs her at incredible speed and throws them both safely to the sidewalk. He envelopes her in his strong arms and shields her from the fall on to the hard concrete. Her legs sting, but that pain is far away from her mind. He holds her for a long time, her face nuzzled in his chest. Her arms tucked between their bodies, her hands gripping for dear life onto his jacket. She inhales his scent, that mix of cologne and rum that reminds her of that blissful night in Paris. In his arms felt so right, she could melt into his touch and not move for hours - but she could live without the dirty sidewalk.

“Dames…” She manages to whisper, “I thought I lost you.” Her body trembles in his arms as the reality hits her. He is here, he is real, he is alive.  She lifts her head from it’s safe space. Oh what she would give to kiss along that jaw and to his mouth. To sink into his lips and wrap her arms around him and never let go.

“Melina what the hell were you thinking?” His face so close to hers, his eyes filled with concern. He brings his hand up to her face to brush back her hair and it lingers as he cups her jaw. Did he dare move his face any closer? Threatening to crash his lips against hers and tangle his hands in her hair, bringing her closer to him and never leave her again.

Before she can answer they are being helped up by onlookers. Her gaze doesn’t move from him, she’s not losing him again. She thanks them and brushes them off as she moves closer to him - if he tries to run she thinks she can be quick enough to grab him by the jacket.

“Please, Dames. Just come to my apartment. Y-you don’t have to s-stay. I …” She drops her head for a moment as she lets out a deep sigh. Looking into his eyes - God, is this real? Is he really in front of me? She says, “I just want to know you’re okay. Our last talk to each other, that wasn’t fair - it wasn’t right. That’s not how things were suppo-”

“Melina…” The way he said her name made her heart skip a beat. “I’ll come with you. We can talk, I promise.” She nodded her head, still in disbelief. Instinctively, her hand intertwined with his. “Do you want to grab your laptop?” He asked as he motioned to the coffee shop.

“I’m not crossing that street again, today. I’ll text Lily to hang on to it for me.”

The walk back to Melina’s apartment was silent, apart from the noise from the city, but it didn’t phase either of them. Absentmindedly their thumbs would graze one anothers - fingers still laced together. When they reached her apartment Melina led the way, giving her hips an extra sway for him as they climbed the stairs. She wanted him to watch, and she knew he would. It took her a moment to fetch her keys from her crossbody purse and unlock her door, the adrenaline was kicking in again. This is a part of her life Dames hasn’t experienced first hand. This moment would be intimate one for both of them.

They made their way inside, Dames moved towards her living room, taking it all in. With her eyes closed, Melina slowly closed the door imagining Dames moving closer to her. His hands on either side of the door frame, closing in on her. His chest pressed against her back, his pelvis against her backside, and his lips hovering so close to her ear. She would turn around to face him and that’s when he would press her hard against the door, his lips kissing hers and his hands gripping her hips as hers would tug on his collar.

“This is a really nice place, Melina.” Dames says, snapping Melina out of her thoughts.

“Ya, thanks. Over here is the kitchen… Where I keep the rum. I need a shot, do you want a shot?” Her heart is beating so fast, her hands begin to shake. She makes her way to the cupboards and pulls out two shot glasses and his favorite rum. He sits on a barstool on the other side of her counter, one elbow propped up.

“Melina, are you alright?” His voice is filled with concern as he watches her move quickly.

“Mmhmm. I just, need to calm my nerves. It’s been so long and it’s all happening so fast.” She pours the shots and slides one over to him. He takes his and stares at it for a moment before he returns his attention to her. She raises her glass to him before throwing back the shot. He quietly lets out a sigh, then follows suit. She’s already pouring herself another round and is quick to refill his. The second shot burns her throat, but seems to do its job as it settles her down. She looks into his eyes and she can see the pain in his eyes. The pain he’s been feeling since Paris, since they left him behind in Tokyo to fight Cecile and all those matches. Her breath hitches when he takes her hand into his.

“C’mon, let’s go sit down. Okay?” He says as he leads her from the kitchen to the couch in her living room.

They settle onto the couch, space between them, but their knees slightly brush against the other as they face each other. Her arms are crossed against her body, gently tucked beneath her heaving chest. His hands are placed on his thighs, rubbing back and forth - not sure how he should proceed.

“Dames, where the hell have you been?” Melina breaks the silence, he can hear the hurt in her voice. “I have been endlessly searching for you, hoping and praying that you were alive and until today I’ve had no fucking luck.” The tears start to form in her eyes and her voices begins to shake. “Why now? I know you’ve been in contact with Keegan. Why have you been avoiding me when you know how to get a hold of me? Why? Why?” The tears fall and her cheeks are wet, she can’t wipe them away fast enough. They just won’t stop.

He hates to see her like this, it hurts him to see her cry. He wants to just wrap her in his arms again and bury his face into her hair. He wants to make her pain end, but he’s the one who did this to her - it’s his fault. It’s all his fucking fault. Fuck it, he thinks as he reaches for her and wraps her into a hug. He gently rocks her and she cries even harder. He whispers “I’m sorry” over and over into her ear. It’s not enough, she deserves more than just his words, even if he means it with every ounce of his fabricated heart and soul. “I’m so fucking sorry, Melina.” He says before she pulls back.

She wants him to look her in the eyes when he tells her why. Why he hid from her all this time without one single word, even if those words were “fuck off”, but he didn’t even give her that.

“Melina, I’m so sorry. I was a coward. I was scared to come back to you when I knew my time was coming end. Knowing I only had months to retain all my past memories and feelings. I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t bring myself to be near you and lose you all over again.” Melina couldn’t believe what ehe was hearing. He didn’t even attempt to let them try  -

“I eventually came into contact with Kaahn. I didn’t know if he could help me, but I couldn’t let Cecile and Rowan win. I couldn’t go down without some sort of fighting chance.” He sighed as he took Melina’s hands into his. They were so much smaller, and they were so soft. He loved how such a simple touch from her brought such warmth to him.

Her eyes grew wide, fucking Kaahn talked to Dames and he didn’t say a word?When Dames took her hands and it relaxed her for a moment, but she was still in shock. Who the hell did Kaahn think he was? “He attempted to fix my programming. Today is the last day before the original’s program was set to erase everything. Unfortunately, Kaahn doesn’t know if his override will work. I’m scheduled to… ‘reset’ if you will, at midnight. It won’t be until I wake up will I know if it worked. ”

Her world was flipping upside down. Her head was spinning, her heart was breaking, what was she supposed to do with this information? She finally had Dames back, but tonight he could be gone all over again. This wasn’t fair , Dames didn’t deserve any of this. He brushed her hair from her face, he wanted to comfort her as best as he could. He had already accepted what might happen to him, but this was all so much for Melina. He didn’t want her to have to endure all this. This wasn’t something she needed to worry about, she didn’t need to fuss over him.

“Stay with me.” Her eyes pleaded, her lips slightly parted in anticipation of his answer. “I know you wanted me to see you today. I know you weren’t expecting me to run like a mad woman into traffic, but …” she licked her lips and Dames let out a soft groan at the sight. “Please, stay. You’re finally here and I don’t think I can let you go.”

“What about Damien?” He questioned, his feelings for Melina meant the world to him, but he could never come between her and the person who he had to thank and curse for all these wonderful feelings.

She shook her head and said, “He’s surprisingly very open to me having intimate feelings for others. I don’t think you would be an exception. And it’s not about Damien right now. It’s about me and you right now, and right now I want to spend what could be last moments in your arms… if you want that too.”

That was all he needed to hear. He slowly closed the space between them, Melina’s sweet scent filling his senses, making his head swim. His lips found hers, they tasted like rum with a hint of peach from her iced tea that she had been drinking earlier. Her moan sent a tingle through his body. He needed more of her, but he was worried of what would come in the morning.  Dames broke away from the kiss and asked, “Melina, are you okay with keeping it light? I want to be with you so badly, but it’s not fair to you if I won’t have any memories in the morning. I …” Dames hung his head low, scared to meet his gaze with hers. Her warm hands cupped his face and she lifted his chin until he finally looked her in the eyes.

“I am perfectly fine with being held in your arms all night long, but don’t stop kissing me.” Dames stood up and brought Melina to her feet and embraced her in a hug. He lifted her up and she hooked her legs around his waist holding on to him like she would never let go, burying her face in his neck. He led them to the bedroom where they laid in bed all night intertwined. Both Melina and Dames fighting the urge to fall asleep. Their eyelids heavy, but their lips still finding each other. Both whispering each others names on their skin, and their lips. They both succumbed to sleep, the mental exhaustion too much for them to bear any longer.

When Melina wakes up she’s not sure what time it is. She can feel the warmth of the sun peeking through her curtains. Her face is still buried in Dames chest, her new favorite place to rest her head. She’s afraid to move, not knowing what will happen if she wakes him up. Will it be him? Will he remember her and the enchanting night they just had. Just him and her wrapped in each other, never letting go. She wants to cry, the anticipation driving her mad, she didn’t want this to end. She didn’t want to lose Dames again.

Moments passed and finally, he began to stir. She held her breath, this was it, the moment of truth. What would she even say if he didn’t recognize her - she guessed she could call Kaahn or Keegan and they would know what to do. Fuck. Why did it have to be this way? Why did this even have to be a thought?

She felt pressure on the top of her head. Was that? Was that a kiss? Another, and another on her temple. She couldn’t move, does he remember?

“I remember. Everything.” He can’t stop smiling, his head clear of the fog that was his limited programing. Lifetime upon lifetime worth of memory just waiting to be stored. Kaahn did it.

“Stay with me.” Her voice gentle, she didn’t ask, she wanted him to know she wanted him.

“As long as you want me, I will always be here for you, Melina.” His lips found hers over and over again. They trailed along her jaw and down her neck. She moaned his name and begged for more. Piece by piece their clothes made their way to her bedroom floor. His groans grew louder the lower his kisses wandered. Her skin was soft, she was so beautiful and her taste was like ecstasy on his tongue. Melina’s moans drove him to please her harder and harder until she was trembling against his mouth.

“I want all of you, Dames. Please. I need you..” She begged between her panting breaths.

Dames kissed Melina ever so gently as he made his way between her legs. Their moans mingling as they moved against one another. Melina savored the pressure of Dames’ muscular body on top of her’s. She held him close, not wanting to let go. He was finally back in her life and to stay this time.

MORE UPDATES ON THINGS WHAT HAPPEN

The half week milestone of the hospital house thingie time! I think the term they use for it is "a residential stay"? Cos like its not a hospital its a shared housing block thats just full of doctors. I get to sleep in a real bed and there's a nice community room and board game nights and stuff. But its still really scary how intense the supervision can be! Like they have a window to look into your room once per hour every hour constantly. And they have to go through your undies and catalog them as part of the possessions check. I was not warned about that and it was mega embarassing trying to explain a binder to a bunch of old lady doctors! Oh and i had yo do a urine test today which was possibly the most fuckin embarassing thing in the actual universe. And you're not even allowed to take your own pills! They keep them locked in a big ominous wall of lockers and you have to come into the office and swallow the pill while theyre watching. I guess maybe because some people might be faking their illness and selling their pills on the black market or whatever? But that literally doesnt happen with antidepressants, they have no 'high' or even any effect at all on non-sick people. So it just makes no sense to me and its real embarassing cos like i said i suck at taking pills with plain water and without a straw. The ones i take are real damn chunky things the size of my thumbnail! I think i'l get better at not (literally) choking under pressure over time, tho. Hopefully.

Anyway that's all the bad out of the way! Now the good and the neutral and the just miscellaneous!

Its still nervewracking having to shower in a shared house but they have a cool walk-in shower and ive never tried one of those so it was vaguely interesting. And im allowed to take my showers early at 6am to minimize the chance of anyone else trying to use the door, lol. My biggest fear is having some staff member walk in on me when im naked like back in that homeless hostel. Oh or that time in the homeless hostel where the teenage boys filled the entire bathroom with inflated condoms wall to wall. Like wow so much damn effort to prank the stupid nervous bunni who probably would have been embarassed by literally anything else. Man this place is bringing so many memories of that homeless hostel but at least this time its a place specifically for sick people and they know i'm anxious doing shared cooking and board games and whatever so they dont make fun of me for it. But in a lot of ways that hostel had more freedoms too.. *shrug*

Anyway! A good! I get to have cooking lesson!! I know literally nothing about cooking and now i get to know several thing!! This nice doctor called Josie taught me how to make an omelette and i tasted ham for the first time! That is just how limited my life experiences are, lol. Oh and they want me to say that she's a 'mental health worker' not a doctor, but its all real confusing?? Like they have the staff that look after you and then the only ones we're supposed to call doctors are the ones who actually have the authority to prescribe pills and diagnosies. But like if youre in a hospital you'd call them all doctors, not just the actual surgeon? Or i guess theyre kinda like nursing home staff?? But they cant be support workers cos support workers are specific government assigned inspector type guys like Richard who only meet with you once a week.and i have to remember to not call him a social worker either cos social workers only work with family and custody related stuff. I dunno?? Basically the medical industry has a lot of names that dont really describe what the actual thing is, lol. Anyway the ham omelette was great and now im gonna try and remember so i can try and make it myself next time! HAM ACCOMPLISHED

Also i played bingo with a few other patients and it was fun but funny that i lost 6 times in a row when there were only 3 of us. I got a consolation prize of a pack of neon highlighter pens so hell yeah!!

I'm getting booked in to try some additional classes starting next week on monday and tuesday morning. The computer programming one was sadly unavailable, but i managed tp snag a place in "confidence building group therapy" and "basic how to use power tools". I wasnt really all that interested in that one but i thought it would be a useful skill even if its less fun. And maybe you get to actyally make something to take home at the end? A lil shelf to help organize this awkward lil room better, maybe?

And an unexpected bonus of being semi-hospitalized is that i get a free bus pass! And cos im here cos of my social anxiety theyre gonna help me get outside more and actually use this thing to the fullest! The first thing we did was the trip to actually get the bus pass itself. It was like "bus, take my money to take me to the place where i can never give you money again!" XD Ive been really stupidly nervous about going on tne bus in my old neighbourhood cos MAN it was really isolated there and everything just amplified my mental illness. An almost two hour bus ride to get to ANY SHOPS AT ALL, with only one bus for the whole town so it was always crowded and full of screaming kids and gossipy everyones. Social anxiety: maximum level proud mode!

So yeah i feel BIG ACCONPLISHED! I was able to take this bus for the first time with a doctor coming with me. Power Grandpa The Strong. His actual name is Paul and he has awesome sleeve tattoos of like anchors and dragons and sports teams and stuff! And he likes thrift stores and wearing silly hats too! Its like he's powerful enough to wrestle away everyone's anxieties! I was able to be a bit reckless too and i went out wearing my fave shirt thats like trans pride coloured plaid. A POWERFUL SHIRT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS QUEST! so we went to the office to register this bus pass and i panicked a bit cos apparantky we brought the wrong form and i wrote my name in the wrong box and then my passport photo looked terrible and aaa! But it all worked out and i was kinda freaking out for nothing. And he took me for a lil tour of the place and showed me this cool shop that does spray paint tye dye t shirts with spiderman on them?? Why does this incredibly specific shop exist and how have i never heard of it before?? There was also a new harry potter shop next to the disney shop, and the old used book store i used to visit as a kid was still there, complete with rickety spiral staircase and ominous basement trap door. I'm still not brave enough to go down there, but apparantly its just the history books section so meh. Then we actually went to a fancy coffee shop and i had this brain freeze mango ice frappucchino thing! Im trying all the new foods!!

And i was TOO HIGH ON DECADENCE and made a RECKLESS CHOICE! i blame power gramp's amazing tattoos, they were totally whispering to me that i shoukd screw the rules and ride off into the sunset on a metaphorical harley davidsen of mental health

So i was like Hey Paul I Am Totally Fine Getting Home On My Own, and it was like i was floating off in the distance somewhere begging my body to not speaketh these words. But it ended up working out okay! The excitement of it all and the sense of accomplishmebt from getting there all okay allowed me to mostly not freak out as i spent the day in town and looked at some shops and stuff. Basic Living Skills: Completed! I chilled out in the library (tho i dont have a card yet, alas!) and visited like five comic and anime stores, and got lost but found a Pizza Hut and that was SO NOSTALGIC FOR MY CHILDHOOD and it didnt taste quite as good as i remembered but the waiter guy was super nice and had a similar shirt and it was All Good! Oh and i gave all my money to a homeless person and that's why i'm broke now. And i bought a plastic slug! I just saw it from across the room and was like OH NO I AM BEING MAGNETISED TOWARDS IT OH NO IT HAS ALREADY BEEN BOUGHT. I need to think of a name for this new friend!!

So yeh i got home okay and i felt really acconplished and that was the furthest trip away that i've taken in ages! Man my mental illness makes me feel pathetic, but it also brings ridiculously big joys from the smallest of silly acconplishys!

Oh and thank you so much to the people who sent me emails! It really helped so much to keep me from giving up during the first few days before i made a bit of progress and felt like i could really do this, yknow? Especially big thanks tp the friend who sent me that mysterious super happy song that they found on a mystery disc in a german market?? Im still not sure whether its in greek or hasidic jewish but it sounds AMAZING and i hope someday i can figure out the band so i can hear their other singles!

Storytime With DeeDee #1

So I wasnt really sure what to write about but I decided to tell you guys about one of the biggest problems in my life since this is supposed to be about you guys getting to know me better.

So like two years ago I went on a school trip to Valencia and I was thinking about it since like the year before we went. During that time I was also doing Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and the Valencia trip was between the practice expedition and the actual expedition. If you dont know what the Duke of Edinburgh Award is then its basically a thing in Britain where youre in a group of kids your age and of the same gender and you go camping. Having never gone camping before I was well excited. So the practice expedition is when you have teachers looking after you but not helping you while in the actual expedition the teachers are like some distance behind you.

Anyways I went on the practice expedition prepared. My parents grew up in quite rural areas (AKA the countryside) so they knew what they were doing. The hike and setting up was fun. We had dinner and then we had a campfire where we made smores which are really good. So it was finally time to go to bed and thats when the problems started.

I was all for going to sleep at a reasonable time as to have enough energy the next morning because we were doing another hike. So I shared the tent with two of my friends, one of who bailed on us to go to sleep in a different tent. I have trouble falling asleep in a new place. It takes me a couple of nights to go to sleep in a different place even if its in a different room in my house or like when I go over to sleep at my dads where Ive slept for like 3 years. My remaining friend was all for going to run around and explore during the night with the others. So we went to a bigger tent and ate a lot of sweets with our friends until I started feeling really tired so I went back to my tent. Also this tent had no locks and was outside with the badgers and foxes which we were warned about so that made me anxious as I always have to check the doors are locked at home before I go to sleep. This was around 11pm so I tossed and turned in the incredibly uncomfortable sleeping bag until I started feeling slightly sick. Being reasonable I thought that I was either hungry or really needed the toilet because my stomach was hurting. So I had some bread and went to the toilet where I threw up said bread. I just thought that I ate something funny because I wasnt sure about the pot noodle I ate for dinner but I was hungry. So I made a couple trips from the tent to the toilet where I had my first encounter with a badger which turned into a staring contest before it ran away (honestly I have like a sixth sense or something because I turned off my torch as to not wake anyone and sensed that something was there) before I decided to do the reasonable thing and call my mum. This was at 4am so keep in mind that I sat sobbing in my tent for 4ish hours before I decided to call my mum because food poisoning usually goes away after 2 hours for me so I was worried. My mum advised me to drink water and wait till someone showed up. I only got about half an hour of sleep that night because I just collapsed on my backpack from sheer exhaustion because after the hike and throwing up I was drained. My mum checked up on me every so often and once I woke up at 6am I saw that the camping experts or something had shown up so I went over to them and they sat me down on a chair, got my friend to collect my stuff, gave me water and went to fetch a teacher as I am socially awkward and cant wake people up without getting anxious. So the teacher came and called my mum. My mum got my dad to pick me up and I was home by 10am. I had a shower since there were no showers at the campsite, had some tea and slept till 3pm. My mum saw that I looked better and decided that it was food poisoning or that we cooked something wrong.

Then came Valencia, something that I was really excited about because England does not have the weather to go into the sea. I love going to warm countries and sitting on the beach or in the sea. And of course my period decided to start on the day of the trip which really annoyed me as I have long periods and the trip was only four days. So I went to school and we got on the plane and we were off. We arrived quite late and had some burgers for dinner before going to our rooms. We stayed at a university and the rooms were absolutely shit but I shared a room with two of my friends. So we unpacked, showered and went to sleep. Or they did. I was having that issue again and couldnt fall asleep. Then the throwing up began. I was fine during the days except that my period was heavier than usual and during Spanish lessons when I would sit in the toilet for most of the lesson. As long as I was enjoying myself and kept myself busy (like the time we went to a museum and I spent the time looking at cute chicks (like baby chickens) and dinosaur fossils) I felt normal. Then when night came I started feeling sick. It got to the point where I refused to eat because I found it pointless if I was going to throw up again. One of the teachers had a room next to mine and kept 'blackmailing' me. Like she kept saying that she would take me to the doctor and have my parents pay for it (I have free health care in the EU) or that she would send me back home if I would shut up and make my parents pay for the ticket back (when I told her that there were no flights she said that she would just send me to Poland (which is where I was born) since she knew I had family there) and what was worse was that she denied ever saying any of that once my mum complained to the school and nearly got me kicked out of school. So when we got back I was traumatised. I lost so much weight that I wouldnt fit into my old clothes anymore. My pants, unless they were like leggings, would fall right off (I gained the weight back dont worry). I refused to eat and I would keep throwing up and the only thing that would calm me down was this calming herbal tea. I would spend half an hour sat in the toilet crying until my mum decided that I needed to go to the doctor to at least try to fix my physical problems while giving me time off school to deal with the trauma caused by that trip. So I got medicine and was diagnosed with a nervous stomach which while it cant really be classified as an official medical condition I will still call it that.

"Having a nervous stomach could have to do with your emotional state or mental health, your digestive or gut health, or even a mixture of both. Rarely, it may signal something more serious going on. Nervous stomach can also just be how your digestive system works naturally during times of stress. As well, it could be just an isolated experience."

This is something I got from a health website on google. I believe my case of a nervous stomach which I now say is that my stomach has anxiety as a joke to deal with the trauma came from my emotional state or mental health.

So I got back to school while I was on medication and I started acting more like myself. So I went to see the teacher who organised the DofE (Duke of Edinburgh) and told him that I couldnt go on the expedition because I was on medication and had a 'medical condition'. He was fine with it but my Head of Year (teacher who was in charge of my year group) wasnt. She was helping that teacher organise the whole thing and took me out of lesson twice, once before the expedition because I hadnt been attending the meetings and the second time was on the day of the expedition. The first time she was calling me a liar and said that I was faking it for attention and that I wasnt on medication neither did I have a medical condition (when this is clearly something that could have been caused by my mental health) and that I needed to start getting involved because they paid for everything (literally my parents paid for all my equipment) and that she would ban me from ALL other trips no matter if they were trips to a park or residentials (over night trips) which was fucked up because I have a 'medical condition' that may have been caused by my mental health being not okay (cant find a better word) and mental health is something they are trying to improve in my school. The second time she was accusing me of not telling the teacher that I wasnt going on the expedition and when I tried to explain she would cut me off and start acting like a cheeky bratty teenager constantly saying "No" whenever I tried to say something. She forced me to go see the teacher because he was waiting for me downstairs but I was then told that they had left AN HOUR AGO. Like WTF?

Now my 'medical condition' hasnt popped up anymore apart from when I went to an award ceremomy coz I got nominated tor Young Person of the Year (which I got) but it wasnt as severe. So it hasnt gone away so we havent risked letting me go to sleepovers ot overnight trips. Anyways I have a nervous stomach and its currently wanting chocolate which means that we agree on something for once so this is DeeDee signing off!

Travel Planning is so Overrated

AVOID TRAVEL PLANNING AT ALL COSTS

My first big trip away from home way back  in 1998 I planned nothing, and look how that turned out?  I knew where I was going to stay, and how I was going to get there.  But that was about the extent of my travel planning skills.  Plus the internet wasn’t actually a thing back then, but with the gaining popularity of the internet, and fear of what happened in California you would think I would turn into a “Plan everything” kind of guy.

TRAVEL WITHOUT A PLAN

On occasion I have been the “overpacked” guy, but never the “plan everything” kind of guy.  I have learned over the years that nomadic life works out in the end, and mishaps are just part of the adventure.  Planning a journey is actually a pitfall because now your on the clock.  Deposits are at risk, and anxiety over takes your trip.

  Years of adventure travel have made me much better at just going with the flow.  I’m a last minute travel planner who has never had any set itinerary.  When plans change or things go wrong I just roll with it because from my experience it just adds to the adventure.  And the alternative to dealing with it will have you curled up in a ball of stress and anxiety trying to figure out how to get back on schedule.

Traveling without a plan allows you incredible adaptability to take advantage of opportunities you wouldn’t otherwise been able to.  It allows you to pivot to other options you couldn’t find on the internet back home, or change your mind when something different comes along.  Letting your trip unfold randomly can lead to exciting and unplanned adventures.

TRAVELING WITHOUT A PLAN WILL GIVE YOU A PLAN

I set my heart on Florida one winter, but ended up in Outer Banks North Carolina where I made the most money I had ever made in one season. I met a girl and bought my dream truck!  Another time,  I found myself in the middle of a civil war in Bangkok so I bailed.  That lead me to Grand Teton National Park where I found employee housing for $210 a month, and a $1200 a week job in one of the greatest landscapes in America.

I wouldn’t have had these or many other experiences had I planned an itinerary with a set schedule.  I recently wrote about a hail mary road trip I made to change my situation where I drove from Montana to Arizona in the hopes of finding that summer money in the winter months. After struggling for longer then I wanted to I stretched up to South Lake Tahoe only to find locked doors of opportunity!  Which at the time had me frustrated.  Especially since I had to drop Kota and the RV off in Minnesota, but now I reside in the Grand Canyon.  I have a job that pays close to $40 an hour, and charges me only 45 cents a working hour for housing.  I’m on another working vacation in one of the seven wonders of the world because I traveled without a plan, and let the adventure unfold.  Travel planning wouldn’t have gotten me to the Grand Canyon, or see my old friend in South Lake Tahoe.

NEW TRAVELERS OVER PACK AND OVERPLAN

Most new travelers are the opposite as they over plan and over pack.  I understand why people schedule their entire route sometimes down to the specific hour, or even why they overpack.  Its because travel planning is intimidating and they are afraid of the “what ifs”.  I was afraid too at one time.  What if I meet someone who wants to go to the beach, and I don’t have any shorts?  Or what if I get there and the tour is over booked because I waited to find a better a deal in person? Travel life has a way of providing you everything you will need to have the greatest experiences & best adventures.  Alaska taught me that.

MY FIRST TRIP TO ALASKA

My first season in Alaska I packed city clothes.  No sleeping bag, no tent, camping gear of any kind.  Surrounded by hippies & vagabonds there I was with a suitcase full of Khakis & dress shirts.  All I needed was a pair of jeans, tennis shoes, T-shirt, sleeping bag & a hoodie.  Instead I had 4 suitcases of useless clothes and gear.  This last move I packed one bag of clothes, and still brought too much.  I packed it in under 10 minutes 15 minutes before I left, and I still over packed.  Life on the road will teach you that all you need is the basics.  Everything else you can buy, make do with what you have or it will emerge from the people you meet along the way.  Don’t over think your travel planning like most rookie travelers do.

TRAVEL SLOWER TO TRAVEL MORE

When it comes to travel less is more, and slowing down is the best travel planning advice anyone can give you.  Traveling slow creates opportunities for happy accidents of travel where you find yourself on amazing adventures you wouldn’t have otherwise been exposed to.  Spending more time in one destination allows you to get a better feel for the pulse of the rhythm of life in the area, and meet amazing locals that will turn into travel angels.

I have a friend that prays for things to go wrong because his best memories are from the worst scenarios.  He is strong believer in “The Adventure starts where the planning stops.” So plan your route and fill in the blanks along the way.  Your going to meet like minded people at every hostel you stay in, and there’s another hostel just down the road if you don’t like what you find at the first one.

OVER TRIP PLANNING

Travel planning trips can be exciting and adventurous.  When you start out you’ll be overzealous and try to cram everything in.  That’s ok.  Consider this your rough draft, or what I like to call a highlites reminder.  These are the things you want to see and do, but take a deep breath.  Realize its unrealistic, and burdening to try and rush from attraction to attraction.  Plus costly.  The slower you travel the cheaper things are.  Taking a taxi from the hostel to the Eiffel Tower is practical, but what will you uncover walking the 3 miles through the city of Paris from your hostel to the Eiffel Tower?

The best advice I can give you for trip or travel planning is to figure out the destination.  Then figure our your direction, and slowly start moving that way.  Book your first few nights of travel.  This lets you get a feel for the vibe of the layout around you.  Then let the adventures unfold from there.   Slowly travel from destination to destination until you feel like stopping or changing direction.  See the sites on the way, make new friends at the hostels you find, and take notice of the little things.

When it comes to trip planning there is no magic answer., but there may be a universal approach to keep you focused and stretch your budget.  Whether its through a city or  country simply keep moving forward.  Travel in a continuous loop, and avoid doubling back.  This way you can keep your transportation costs down, and use your time more efficiently.  Keep your plans flexible so that you can stay in a destination longer or leave sooner if you find a better adventure.

TRAVEL WITHOUT A PLAN QUOTES

Every long term traveler has done their fair share of travel planning and will tell you:

“Life on the road will destroy even the best planned trip.  When the unexpected happens thats when you will find yourself in a great adventure story you can tell all your friends back home some day.”

From breaking your hand, traveling to new destinations with new travelers, vehicle breakdowns,  loosing reservations, staying longer, leaving sooner, finding love or even finding you’ve been robbed unexpected things happen on the road of travel.  Roll with it, and move on.  Dwelling on it will only wreck your trip.

BE FLEXIBLE WHEN TRAVELING

Be flexible because if your not the only thing your going to find is stress & anxiety.  Don’t rush from attraction to attraction.  You traveled all that way so soak it in.  Enjoy the moments and leisure of life while on your trip. Its ok to create a vague plan or even a back up plan, but be flexible or you’ll regret it later.

Travel is meant to be leisurely, exciting and adventurous.  If you get overwhelmed, burnt out or just want to relax for a few for a few days or take a “travel-time out” its important to give yourself some wiggle room in your travel schedule to do so.   Its important to give yourself flexibility for destinations you like or dislike so you can stay longer or leave sooner.

The best travel plan is a flexible travel plan that gives you direction, and adapts to your likes or dislikes while on the road.  Traveling with a vague plan is ideal, but traveling without any plan is even better.
