twisted sprout x distractor reader x twisted cosmo?
bonus points if reader's a little overly cocky and gets Got (maybe we get like. kidnapped or something. whatever you think would fit best in the getting got category [: )
...no this isn't inspired by me doing stupid stuff while distracting and getting punished for it. why would you think that noo /j
[20]: In The End
Not much to say right now. Not in the best mood after something happened, but I still hope you enjoy.
You were known as the chaotic one of the group.
Reckless, mischievous, you name it.
Honestly, no one really knew why you were the distractor, but they just went along with it because who else did they have to distract?
So here you were, skipping your way along the dark halls, your mood completely cheerful despite the disturbing sounds of the monsters chasing you.
The smile on your face was as bright as it would be on a sunny day, strangely enough.
You weren't one to strategize either. The instant you found a speed candy on the floor? Eat it in an instant.
Chocolate bars? Sounds good! Bottles of pop? Sure thing! No saving whatsoever.
You were literally the embodiment of idiotic.
And you liked it.
What was wrong about being stupid? Everyone is, so might as well come to terms with it.
You giggled, rounding the corner and making a U-turn around the twisteds.
Some say you’re confusing. Some say you’re drunk. Some say you’re crazy. (Which you are, but focus!)
You had the most positive,(Yes, even more positive than Poppy) yet deranged look on your situation, is what people said.
You didn’t care if there were monsters chasing you. You didn’t care if you were possibly going to die soon. After all, if you're going to go out, might as well have a little fun while doing so!
No you weren’t suicidal, just…you tried to make the best of your situation.
Was this place causing you to go insane? Probably. Who wouldn’t, after seeing their friends die in front of them one by one?
Ah, you remember now. Vee being mauled by Twisted Pebble, Boxtens bones being crushed by Twisted Goob’s grip, Astro being killed by…well, Twisted Astro. Or who you like to call, the leech.
Their deaths were so traumatizing, you say with absolutely no emotion whatsoever, like you’re being sarcastic, but you’re not.
What reason would you have to be?
You didn’t really hate anyone here, not Vee or Glisten with their pride, Rodger with his nosiness, or even Shrimpo with his yelling. He had good reason to be bitter.
You heard a screech behind you, a warning. With practiced grace, you twirled around the easily avoidable tendril sprouting up from the floor, not even staining your shoes with the black ichor.
As you skipped on, avoiding a swipe of a smaller black claw, you wondered how the twisteds were even dumber than you, to the point they would just run around in circles after you and not even cut through the middle. They also wouldn’t jump or step over obstacles, nor knock them aside. They reminded you of homing missiles, but worse.
They acted as if a bean bag was a brick wall, and it was funny, yet extremely confusing. It bugged you to the point of insanity.(Not really, you're still sane but you know)
So you entertained the thought that maybe they were all blind. Their eyes were blood-red, so it would make sense that their vision is messed up, but that doesn’t explain how the amalgamation that was once a sweet and loving dog could now see you across half the entire floor, but couldn’t see you over a colorful kids table, despite towering over you.
It didn’t make any sense. It was like every single obstacle ever was an invisible wall for them. And you thought you were dumb…
You hummed, breaking out of your train of thought. Your eyes widened as you came face to face with a wall, smacking straight into it.
You could feel a headache beginning to form as you fell backwards towards the ground, hitting your head on the painfully hard concrete. You could hear the slightest crack and you cried out, immediately curling yourself up and hands shooting up to your head.
It…felt warm. Weirdly warm, and sticky.
Oh.
You already knew what it was.
You pressed down hard on your scalp as the twisteds closed in on you. You’d go out quick, at least.
The only thing you saw before it was all gone was two blurry faces staring down at you, hissing and groaning filling the air.

It was like time stopped. You and Soobin both grew pale, mouths hanging open in pure shock. It was hard to wrap your head around what he had actually said.
Jungwon, a murderer? Sure, he was cold, sadistic, and harsh, but - a murderer? He must’ve been a child when that happened. Without meaning to, your thoughts showed through a scowl on your face, causing Yeonjun to shoot daggers at you.
‘’ You don’t believe me? ‘’
You felt torn. Wanting to say yes but not feeling it to be true 100% yet. The logical side of your brain was screaming at you to find proof of it; maybe he thought wrong, maybe he had a personal vendetta against him that wasn’t at all connected to Jungwon murdering his friend.
When looking at Soobin, you realized he felt the same thing as you. Neither of you had met a murderer or witnessed a murder. It felt a bit too crazy for your small world. Yeonjun must’ve noticed you looking at his brother as his eyes shifted to him now as well. He probably saw the same expression on your face mirrored on Soobin’s face because he backed away looking even more offended and hurt than before.
‘’ Not even you believe me? ‘’
Soobin struggled to get his words out, ‘’ No, we- we believe you- ‘’ Yeonjun turned on his heel, catching him off guard. ‘’ Wait! ‘’
He didn’t turn back to him, he just walked out of the alley. The last thing Soobin managed to shout at him before he disappeared around the corner of the building was, ‘’ It’s just a lot to take in, ‘’ earning a tired scoff from Yeonjun.
When it was just the two of you, silence fell over you like a veil. It was obvious that you both were deep in thought and troubled over the same thing. Minutes passed, during which you spent going back and forth inside your head.
You remembered the coldness you felt, the silent fear the others seemed to have of him, and the sadistic smirks he’d wear on his face when he was torturing you. But, most notably were his eyes. Sharp, at times carrying many different emotions; most commonly, however, rage and emptiness. Amusement in pain but unfazed in happiness.
If anyone out of the group was capable of murder it would be him, that much you knew. So maybe it was true after all no matter how hard it was to digest. You started to feel some guilt due to how it came off to Yeonjun, so you hurried to say something.
‘’ What do we do now? ‘’
‘’ You believe him, right? ‘’
You took some time to answer which made Soobin smile knowingly. It seemed that over the last few seconds, he too had snapped out of the trance; he looked a lot more confident, no longer pondering distraughtly.
‘’ We could just double-check they went to the same school before. ‘’
Soobin agreed, sending Yeonjun a quick text. A weird feeling washed over you while you were standing there and looking over his shoulder. Your skin felt like it was crawling, and the hairs on your neck raised.
‘’ Soobin? ‘’ your voice came out in a terrified whisper making his eyes widen.
‘’ What’s wrong? ‘’
‘’ Is someone watching us? ‘’
Surprise replaced his worried expression, ‘’ What do you mean? ‘’
When a few seconds had passed and he could tell you were still serious, he chivalrously was the one who dared to look around despite his heart beating faster in dread. You noticed his head had stopped turning, and you allowed your eyes to follow where he was looking; it was the staircase.
Jungwon was staring right at Soobin, gaze diverting to you when he noticed you were looking too. A small smile tugged at his lips, and then he walked out of your sight causing both you and Soobin to scramble to look around the wall - but, nothing. He had disappeared similarly to Yeonjun, leaving you and Soobin feeling just as puzzled.
*******
You decided to go home, feeling like you needed some space to think about your next course of action, as well as what to say to Yeonjun. Soobin had expressed concerns of him acting out impulsively, blinded by rage since he had finally found the person he’d been looking for, for years.
He said he would go check on his older brother and send you updates. Without Yeonjun, the plan would probably be paused for some time until he felt a bit better or you and Soobin came up with a plan on your own. Thankfully the small break gave you some room to relax for the first time in a long time.
Your dad barely reacted when you came home. He hadn’t even sent a text asking what time you would be there after school. His eyes were glued to the bright screen in the darkness like usual, giving a short ‘ hey ‘ when he heard your movements.
You didn’t respond, unsure if he would even notice if you did or not. But he did and it caused his tired head to look up, a sad expression forming on his face as he realized he had once again lost track of time.
The door to your bedroom was slammed unintentionally due to your pent-up anger and frustrations from the long day. You laid down, muscles relaxing under the softness of the bed.
After barely a few minutes of serene quietness, the phone started ringing loudly. You groaned, rolled over, and then picked it up.
‘’ Soobin? ‘’
‘’ Hey, did I disturb you? ‘’
‘’ It’s okay, what’s up? ‘’
‘’ Yeonjun won’t come out of his room so I’m not really sure what to do. He didn’t respond to me either, except for sliding a photo under the door. Y/n…he really went to the same school as Jungwon. It was a class photo. ‘’
You hummed, ‘’ I thought so. If he transferred schools years before I got there, it would’ve been impossible for me to have known that. ‘’
‘’ Yeah, I guess that’s true. ‘’
‘’ Anything else? ‘’
‘’ He sent me some of the files and it has a lot of evidence on it. Mostly texts between employees, there are about a thousand more he has to go through. Some had videos and photos though, of employees being beaten by the boss and higher-ups of the company.‘’
‘’ Holy shit, ‘’ you bit your lip to stop your volume from getting too loud in a moment of excitement, ‘’ Do you think this is enough? ‘’
‘’ Maybe. But we never know what kind of lawyers they have. They could claim it’s A.I or deepfake and not real at all. ‘’
‘’ As long as we try it’s okay. Then we know we have tried everything.‘’
‘’ Of course. You might find some things at Jay’s house too. ‘’
‘’ Jay’s house? ‘’ your forehead furrowed in confusion, you didn’t remember him mentioning anything about that before.
‘’ I have a…spontaneous plan. Wanna come over? ‘’
*******
‘’ It’s a long shot, ‘’ you hesitantly said.
‘’ Better to try than not trying at all. ‘’
A small smile shot to your lips, ‘’ Wow, look at you becoming so wise.‘’
He blushed and whined at the teasing, hiding his face in his hands which made him look adorable in your eyes; a small laugh slipped out of you. He waved with one hand, gesturing to the phone.
‘’ Okay, okay I will text him. ‘’
5:36 pm
You: Hey, can I come over?
You and Soobin both looked at each other after you sent the first text, thinking of the same thing - it was too vague and might make him text the other guys immediately. Soobin hurried to take the phone from you, becoming serious again.
You: I feel more comfortable around you than the others, they’re a lot meaner, I think you’re a bit nicer to me :)
‘’ Is that good enough? ‘’
‘’ If he’s selfish and I guess…horny? ‘’
You gasped, ‘’ Soobin! ‘’
‘’ What? He’s a guy after all…’’ he trailed off, quickly speeding up when his ears started to turn red this time. ‘’ He’d probably happily take the chance to be alone with you. Especially given how strict Jungwon seems to be with them. ‘’
You nodded. That seemed pretty plausible. If Jungwon was always adamant they never met up or acted alone with you in fear of the group collapsing due to jealousy and conflict, that was a very smart way to make sure just that would happen.
Everyone is more vulnerable alone after all.
5:37 pm
Jay: Why, is something wrong?
You took the phone back but glanced at Soobin, wanting to get advice on what to write. As you started typing, he looked at you reassuringly so you sent it.
You: I just feel really sad and depressed, my mom has been in the hospital for so long. I don’t know what to do. Maybe I need to vent a bit. I know it’s stupid, but I really don’t have anyone else. Is it okay if I come over?
‘’ If he says yes to that, then he’s a lot more stupid than I thought. ‘’
Soobin smiled somberly to himself, ‘’ Or he’s just a man who is in love. ‘’
You shook your body jokingly as if you felt a physical sensation like goosebumps at that thought.
‘’ I get that. ‘’
‘’ You do? ‘’
He nodded and his mouth opened but then closed again as he wasn’t sure what to say. Now it was your turn for your face to heat up, you cleared your throat and turned your head discreetly away from him. Soobin didn’t notice, he was too busy beating himself up over not being able to say what he wanted to.
Jay: Okay, you can come over for a bit. I’ll send you my address.
‘’ Yes! ‘’ you threw up a balled fist and cheered victoriously.
‘’ It worked? ‘’
‘’ Yeah, thank god. I don’t know how else we would’ve gotten the proof. ‘’
Soobin chuckled, ‘’ Well you’re not sure if you are going to get that far yet. Don’t get ahead of yourself. ‘’
‘’ Oh, right. Well, I feel optimistic though. ‘’
When you looked at him for a long time in silence with a smile, he raised his eyebrows playfully, ‘’ Because of me? ‘’
‘’ Yeah, you just never seem to give up on me. Because of you being around, I know I won’t lose myself. ‘’
‘’ So you trust me again, fully? ‘’
You nodded without hesitation.
‘’ You know this. I don’t think you could make me change my mind again. You have proved yourself and helped me many, many times. ‘’
A genuine grin flashed across his face, ‘’ You better get going then, we have a plan to follow.‘’
*******
On the way to Jay’s house, something unexpected happened. The taxi driver let you off somewhere near Jungwon’s house, telling you he wasn’t allowed to go further up the hill due to the status of the man living there.
When you started walking the long and tiresome walk up - as you passed by the familiar mansion a girl kicked the door open and began coming towards you. You were about to start running in fear until you saw that it was Yena.
‘’ Yena? ‘’
You went up to the iron bars and tried tugging on the gate, but it was locked.
‘’ I can’t get out. They’ve locked me in here. ‘’
‘’ What? Why would they do that? ‘’
She hesitated for a moment, turning her head back a few times to make sure no one had followed her out there.
‘’ They found out I’m helping you. ‘’
‘’ I’ll get you out! ‘’
‘’ If Jungwon sees you here he might take the opportunity to lock you in here too. ‘’
You listened to what she said and decided texting Soobin to help might be the smartest plan of action here. Jay was already waiting for you to come to his house and might get suspicious if it took you too long.
While taking out the phone and sending a text to Soobin, Yena watched you in silence. Unknown to you, she was having an internal conflict about whether to tell you the full truth or not. She wasn’t sure how to tell you in a way that would make you give the reaction she wanted - because even if she said it as well as she could, there was still no way to tell how you would react.
All she knew was that she couldn’t stand another minute inside that place. The horror-like images flashed inside her head, causing her to feel stress flare up.
‘’ I’ll be back soon, I promise. I’m going to Jay’s house but it won’t be for long. Soobin’s picking me up and then we can all leave, ‘’ you started backing away from the fence, just as a text from Jay came through asking where you were.
‘’ No! Please, you can’t leave me here! ‘’ she wailed.
The sudden switch made you confused. She had been pretty okay just a moment before.
‘’ Yena, what’s going on? ‘’
She didn’t answer, it instead made her more hysteric. Her eyes widened, to the point you could see much of the whites in them; but in her panicked state there was still begging there, desperation and fear.
The phone you were holding started ringing, and like Yena you felt panicked. In a moment, you made up your mind to leave, otherwise, it could worsen the situation for the both of you - you’d come back later for her, you promised her after all.
You answered the phone, ‘’ Yes. I’m just walking up the hill, ‘’ and turned your back on her.
Yena screamed louder, with all of the energy she had left in her. The pain in her voice sounded so raw, it forced you to close your eyes so you could gather yourself. You knew that she was just acting that way because she was scared, she wasn’t being very rational. It didn’t matter if you saved her then or came back a little later. You doubted they would kill her in that short time span, or hurt her very badly too.
‘’ Please…’’ her voice trailed off, the sobs turning into hiccups.
You turned, feeling too bad to leave her there now. But you ended up turning back almost as quickly again and ran up the hill. Yena’s crying had made someone come out of the front door and they were approaching the gate with hasty steps.
‘’ I’ll be back, ‘’ you shouted over your shoulder.
With great determination, you made it up the steep hill after running and found yourself outside the gates of the largest house you had ever seen. It was the house furthest away from the others and at the very top.
Although Jungwon’s house was big, it was nothing in comparison to this, a house fit for a mayor and businessman. You felt slightly intimidated by its size, even more so when spotting all the guards both on the other side of the gate and outside it.
The ones closest started moving towards you. You were scared that Jay hadn’t told them you were coming so they’d arrest you, labeling you as some crazy fan or weird journalist. But when they stood right in front of you, they stopped.
‘’ Miss, y/n? ‘’
‘’ Yes, ‘’ you hesitantly said.
He said something through the in-ear he had in before he and the others walked behind you. The gates opened, not even a single squeak from them.
You looked back since you felt a bit awkward and the guards gestured for you to go in so while starting to walk, you took the time to look at everything. It was embarrassing to admit you were in awe, and when small gasps left your mouth you prayed that Jay wasn’t close enough to witness your childlike fascination at a rich person’s house. If he did, he would definitely tease you for it.
‘’ Y/n, ‘’ you tensed up.
Looking around, you quickly noticed he was standing on the balcony right above where you were. When your eyes met, he smiled and then disappeared, appearing through the French doors below in under a minute.
‘’ You can leave us, ‘’ he said to the guards who looked hesitant before eventually retreating somewhere behind you.
‘’ Let’s go, ‘’ Jay said.
He didn’t wait for you to follow him, so you had to hurry to keep up to not get lost in the big house. You went up the same staircase he had likely come down from, but didn’t go into the same room. He kept walking down the corridor all the way to the end where a big round room was.
‘’ Is this your room? ‘’
‘’ Yeah. Do you like it? ‘’
It was a big room with round windows on the wall furthest away facing the courtyard you had seen when coming in through the gates. A big bed was in the middle and the room was very clean, you could tell almost immediately that a wealthy person lived there.
He laid down on the bed, propping his chin up with his outstretched arm, and watched you as you walked around the room. You had no idea how you’d play this off, it was decided on short notice because Soobin believed you should still continue acting quickly despite missing Yeonjun by your side.
He reasoned that they seemed to have put their guard down around you, which is something you have told him before as well. So if you were to get caught, maybe it wouldn’t be as bad as it would’ve been a few weeks or months ago.
You almost slipped up when Jay moved and tapped the bed, gesturing for you to come over. You were very close to forgetting the reason you told him you were there and cursing at him. Thankfully you caught yourself just in time, but walking over to him still took some force.
You had to turn your head when you felt him moving around you so you two were spooning, not wanting to risk any true feelings appearing on your face and be visible to him.
‘’ How are you doing? ‘’
He didn’t sound as soft, gentle, or empathetic as someone like Sunoo or even Jake would’ve, so you weren’t sure why he had agreed to do this. He wasn’t the most affectionate out of the group, or the kindest - but didn’t react when you had called him that in your text?
‘’ A bit better now. ‘’
‘’ You couldn’t call Soobin? ‘’
Jay chuckled when he felt your body stiffen.
‘’ All I meant is that you’re- what do I call you…friends? ‘’
You gulped down the weird anxiety you suddenly got from being asked about Soobin. Hoping he wasn’t angry, you quietly responded, ‘’ Yeah, friends. ‘’
His body vibrated as a low hum sounded from his throat. He didn’t sound very convinced. You wondered why he brought him up at all.
‘’ Thank you for doing this, I needed it, ‘’ you attempted to shift the conversation in another direction.
‘’ Always happy to, ‘’ he ominously mumbled into the crook of your neck.
You were pressed closer to him, and he sighed contentedly as his eyelids were getting heavier just by you being close. You noticed this by the way he slowly relaxed, his head drooping into your hair.
Carefully you slid out of his hold, thinking it was a lot easier than what you had expected. Originally you were just going to say you had to go to the bathroom, but now - if he didn’t wake up, he maybe wouldn’t even have noticed you were gone at all.
It took a great deal of concentration to tiptoe soundlessly over the floor and then close the door behind you. Being so scared that it would make a noise, you opted for leaving it half-open before continuing down the hallway.
It was deadly quiet, amplifying your heart beating wildly. When you peeked around the corner and didn’t see anyone you continued tiptoeing to the closest door, it was a bedroom so you closed it again. Turning around and seeing about a dozen identical rooms you decided none of them were likely to be an office.
So you were forced to leave the corridor of safety where you knew no danger was lurking; instead walking down the stairs while crouched so you could make sure no guards were watching.
Then you sprinted towards the other side where a small corridor led into a large kitchen. No one was there either, you suspected it was because the dad was in the city and the mom was probably out working too. Or rather, you hoped that was the case as you ventured through the kitchen.
You made it safely through that too, finding yourself in the living room now, a very open space with many windows facing the courtyard. Not wanting to risk getting caught you kept walking. Most of the guards were stationed by the gate as they had been before, but some stood near the doors with their backs turned. Any unusual movements or noises and you could bet their necks would be snapping around.
Because of that, you would hide at the slightest of indicator that one of them might look into the house. First, you hid behind the walls, but the closer you got to a large room that had an unusual door behind it, the fewer places you had to hide.
The door you had seen that caught your attention from far away, was a large oak door with some letters engraved on it. A small round staircase led up to it, making it stand out clearly against everything else around.
It was deserted around the door too, but you felt scared that there was a small possibility the mayor was inside. Maybe he hadn’t gone to his office in the city on this particular day. If you knew your luck, that would be the case.
Step by step you made your way there anyway since you had made it thus far. When you stood right outside, you took a quick look around again before pressing the door handle down and going inside. Darkness surrounded you immediately.
You let your fingers trace the wall for a light switch but decided not to press it, in fear of it alerting anyone to your position. Your phone was taken out instead, the light from it only making the atmosphere creepier than it already was.
Bookshelves seemed to cover almost every single space the light shone on. It made you a little overwhelmed. The smartest move would probably be to check the desk. Nearing it, you realized there was a chance it was locked.
Just like you thought; the drawers at the old Victorian desk at the front had keyholes in them and they remained closed when you tried tugging on them.
When you gave up on the locked drawers, you instead walked to the bookshelves that were the closest; and you swear your heart stopped. The sound of footsteps just outside the door made you freeze in place, unable to move any limbs.
As the door swung open you were found like that. Cursing yourself for not snapping out of it and hiding in time, you tried to crawl under the desk even though it was way too late. You squinted, taking some time to get used to the bright lighting shining into the room.
‘’ What are you doing? ‘’
A chill ran down your spine at the sound of the familiar voice. Footsteps started again and stopped right at the desk. The shoes of Jay came into your view. He crouched down slowly and sighed, tilting his head and making you feel embarrassed - he was kind of looking at you like a disappointed father who had discovered you playing where you weren’t supposed to.
His hand caressed your cheek, he could tell you had started trembling out of fear of what he might do to you. Perfectly calm, he very smoothly pulled on your leg and managed to drag you out almost entirely from under the desk.
‘’ Get up. ‘’
‘’ W-where are you taking me? ‘’ you said, licking your dry and bloody lips.
Jay ticked his tongue and lowered his head, looking up at you through his bangs. You could tell his patience which had been there just a few seconds ago was running out by his narrowed eyes glaring up at you, so you scrambled to your feet.
You watched curiously as he went to the bookshelf and unlocked the compartment at the bottom that you hadn’t even noticed. He had a few folders in his hands when he faced you again.
‘’ Were you looking for these? ‘’
‘’ I- no. ‘’
An amused smile ghosted over his lips, ‘’ I think you were. ‘’
‘ No, ‘’ you mumbled.
‘’ Do you want it? ‘’
‘’ No. ‘’
‘’ No? ‘’ he raised one of his eyebrows, ‘’ You can have it, all yours. ‘’
You stared at him in bewilderment. What was he talking about? Was he just trying to taunt you? The failed attempt being thrown in your face was incredibly uncomfortable, you twisted in your spot on the floor, avoiding his hawk-like eyes watching your every move - predicting your next move and relishing in your pain.
‘’ Why? ‘’ your genuinely shocked voice finally made him give into the smile that had wanted to spread for a long time. He was always right.
‘’ I’m just being nice. ‘’
‘’ No catch? ‘’
He nodded, pursing his lips.
‘’ No catch. ‘’
‘’ Liar, there’s always a catch. ‘’
‘’ Are you going to take it or not? ‘’
‘’ I don’t even know what it is, ‘’ you finally realized.
‘’ Everything you need is in there. ‘’
‘’ So why are you giving it to me? ‘’
‘’ Because no matter how hard you try, ‘’ his smile turned sinister, ‘’ you will never be able to do anything with it. ‘’
*******
6:15 pm
You: Soobin, I have the files. Please come pick me up.
Cousin: okay
Cousin: I’ll be there soon, stand in a place where they can’t see you
You did as you were told, pushing back into the big bushes that covered the hill up to Jay’s house. It was uncomfortable; not only itchy, but the branches were spiky and would be sure to leave traces behind afterward given that they were digging into your skin.
Jungwon’s house was near, you could see the gates if you turned your head. You did so out of curiosity in your boredom and restlessness of waiting for Soobin to come. Despite being meters away from the main gate you could still spot a phone lying in the grass. Yena was nowhere to be seen.
You weren’t sure why, but you felt like something was wrong. They could’ve done something to her if they had spotted her talking to you outside, even if you were almost certain not enough time would pass for that to happen. You bit your lip anxiously while you raked your brain on what to do - go over there and investigate or stay in the bush and wait for Soobin?
Soobin’s car came into view just as you had made a run for the gate, leaving your poor classmate looking back at you confusedly. He thought you were being chased, so in a moment of panic, he reversed to the gate and rolled down the window.
‘’ Y/n! Get in! ‘’
‘’ Hold on, ‘’ you said back, not ready to give up and go since you had gone through the trouble of fitting your hand through the bars now.
‘’ Oh, ‘’ he mumbled to himself, scratching the back of his neck.
You pushed your whole face against the bars and tried your hardest to reach the phone with your fingertips. When Soobin saw you struggling he came out of the car and tried as well. His arm was thicker but way longer; somehow he managed to squeeze through and just by a millimeter his fingers carefully nudged the phone closer.
You helped him pull out his arm which was red with marks, ‘’ We have to leave now. ‘’
One look at the phone was all you needed to know it wasn’t a good idea to stay there any longer. The longer you stayed, the higher the chances of them spotting you were.
‘’ What did you see? ‘’ Soobin asked in the car.
You cleared your throat, feeling a lump forming. It had been confusing, making you end up with more questions than answers.
‘’ It was a screenshot of a text between Sunghoon and Yena. ‘’
That piqued Soobin’s interest, he almost turned his whole head away from the steering wheel.
‘’ What? ‘’
You let out an exasperated sigh, looking out of the window, ‘’ It was Yena begging him to leave the group. ‘’
He couldn’t believe what you were saying, and neither could you really, ‘’ Why the hell was Yena talking to Sunghoon? ‘’

Scarlet Witch reader x Yandere Mha extras: Carnival
•The Class and a Couple of teachers decided to take a trip to the carnival to have some fun
•You were pulled around like some toys by your classmates bickering and begging you to go on a ride with them
•"cmon gumdrop" let's go on that roller coaster!" Mina said grabbing your arm trying to pull you there "No Let's go play some games and win some prizes!" Sato said trying to tug you away from the pink hair "but y/n promise to go on the spinning tea cups with me" aoyama said clearly irritated "No they should go with me they even said that this ride was manly" Kirishima chimed in coming out of nowhere the
•while the rest of the classmates were busy invisible hand tapped you on your shoulder you turned to see it was hakagure "Push let's sneak on the Ferris wheel before anyone notices" You nodded both giggling mischievously you both ran over to the Ferris wheel "all according to plan~" as she thought while the of you headed towards the ride surprisingly nobody was at the line so the both of you dash into a random crate and the ride started the both you giggling and imagine the look on your classmates faces when they realized you were gone
•During the ride hakagure was getting closer to you until y'all were shoulder to shoulder when you questioned it she said she was scared of heights and u didn't mind she started slipping your hand into yours and dazed into your eyes while you weren't focusing on her and was staring at the view while hakagure starting to daydream imagine her 1st kiss
• The 2 of you staring into each other's eyes ever so dreamily while caressing her face so gently and every touch makes her melt even more into her seat, you tell her how much you love her giving her all sorts of cheesy nicknames the moment was all perfect the view of the sunset, flower petals flowing in the wind, Your hair dancing against the wind making you look oh so beautiful and attractive the carnival music was playing her favorite romantic song the time was perfect, you took her face and was trying to lean for a kiss she was shocked and flustered at your sudden boldness but didn't mind at all matter of a fact it made want u more as you were inches between her face she closed her face bracing for it couldn't wait for her dream to finally come tr-
•A sudden stop made Hakagure stop her daydream and you were a bit shocked "Aww man why did the ride stop?.." you whined hakagure was irritated or dare they ruin her daydream it was getting to the best part! That's when you hear the sudden announcement "The ride currently not working please be patient so we can try to fix this issue and stay in your seats" "Ah shit..." While the two of you waited til help arrived hakagure was still upset about her ruined daydream and then she realized she could have a chance! She could confess to you right here right now! The time is still right just without all the other stuff but that doesn't matter it could still be a game changer! She thought
"Uh y/n I have something to tell you..." you turned your face to her hands fiddling with your legs wouldn't stop squirming around and you noticed her look down "What's wrong are you sick? We should call-" "No No! I'm fine it's just it's during these times I always like hanging out with you ur so kind, smart, and funny, even at times you can be a bit crazy but I wouldn't change it for the world," hakagure said softly as you tilted your head in confusion "I just wanted to say y/n that I li-"
•"Y/N!!!" A couple of familiar voices said at the same time Hakagure and you looked down to see that it was your classmates all looking up at you with mixed confused and worried faces
•"Oh hey guys!" You waved happily at your friends not caring that you were on top of ferries wheel as it rocked back in forth in a slow paste
•Sero and Tsuyu tried to make the 2 if you use their tape/tongue for a zipline down but you were too high up Bakugo tried destroying the Ferris wheel but everyone else immediately stopped him Mina wanted to help but doubted that acid was gonna helpful so she tried to reassure you that everything ok But then ochako got an idea she got shoji to float up there to where you were at momo created a safety net just in case "
Aizawa: Dont worry kids we'll get you down
Hakagure: No actually we're fine haha! It's all good we'll get down ourselves!
Iida: No need! that's super dangerous plus we already got Shoji floating your way be careful!!
Hakagure: *clicks teeth* You ruined the fun 😮💨
• After that the class checked to see if you were ok iida scolded at both of you to be careful and mostly blamed it on Hakagure and because he would never blame his darling Bakugo flicked your forehead calling u a dumbass and tried to force you to stay with his squad but Izuku his squad argued that you should stay with them and Ojiro and his gang tried to sneak you off but was caught so now the whole class is arguing Again while ur over here eating cotton candy with Aizawa

I have several questions in just one ask for you.
I think sakura is a fujoshi too lmao did u see her reaction to the boy on boy action? Idk about hinata, but as u said she n sakura forced sasuke and naruto to marry them, even though hinata knows too little of naruto to know hes gay.
naruto and sasuke love each other, there was no one around in sasukes confession, why not say, hey i like you in 'that' way, usuratonkachi? Just confessing, no need to start dating yknow.
There are lots of gay portrayals in shounen now, it wasnt there b4. So kishi couldve let it out anyway right? In interviews and all, but no he has to label them as more bros than blood bros, spitting on the subtle purpose of his story, making his audience get it wrong. Whats the point of writing a love story when hes giving gods word that it is a story about two brothers?
Why WHY did he have to make them reincarnated brothers?
thats all, have a good day sneeze! Sorry if i loaded u up, but i see longer asks sent to u, so it wont be a problem right?
Hi. Hope you have a good day as well. Long ask isn't a problem.
1) Sakura is not a fujoshi, just a hormonal boy crazy girl. I have talked about it here.
2) It's not really a confession, it's Sasuke's thoughts. It doesn't matter whether anyone was around Sasuke's confession. Because the point was that Kishi could not have made his main characters confess their love explicitly in the manga. But it doesn't matter, because he did so much else. SO MUCH. And that is enough. Anyway, the ending was supposed to be tragic so as to facilitate the story line of Boruto, as in with the new generation kids. Naruto and Sasuke were never supposed to end together once Boruto went on board. If it weren't for Boruto, it would have been open ended, and the takeaway/impression would have certainly been that they did end up together. So you can take some comfort in that, but if you can't, I will understand.
3) Most people feel miserly about that one interview where Kishimoto called them blood brothers. But ignore the nuance of the whole piece.
Look how much he is struggling to explain their relationship. The interviewer was being quite assertive about getting his answer too. I am telling you, Kishi was sweating balls here. He couldn't have revealed the actual nature of their bond, and like I said, a lot of people can tell what the story was about. Like this interviewer. Who is being cautious but smart. Kishi is talking about loneliness and abandonment. Both Naruto and Sasuke suffered from it. Kishi finds it hard to put in words but he is trying to explain the underlying feeling of it anyway. It's not hard to see.
Look at this. Don't you find it weird that there is SO damn much conversation around defining this relationship? It's there in the manga in a major way and it's there in the interviews because that's what the manga is about. Kishi is explaining how some bonds are taken for granted because they already have quite a strong impression in the intuitive memory of the audience. Like bonds of family. Like Sasuke and Itachi. You can tell in a story who is family. But the bond between Naruto and Sasuke is hard to explain no? Even Sasuke wants to know the answer! Lol. And he gets it, in the end. Friendship is hard to explain, he says. And yet a lot of characters were pointedly portrayed as friends. Like Shikamaru and Chouji. Properly emphatically friends. Kakashi and Obito. Jiraiya and Tsunade, Inoichi and Shikaku, Lee and Neji, Ino, Shikamaru and Chouji.
All FRIENDS. And we got it very easily too. What he found difficult to explain was the 'friendship' between Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto keeps calling him friend. But obviously, Sasuke isn't satisfied. Again, until the end. Like the audience can obviously tell that when Naruto goes absolutely berserk at the mere name of Sasuke, or that Sasuke gives up his life for a person he didn't even like apparently, yeah that stuff is beyond friendship. Audience isn't dumb. Well not all.
One doesn't really have to go interview hunting to find the veracity of Naruto and Sasuke's love. It's all in the manga. It's the real source. But if you have to refer to the interviews, don't ignore the rest of them.
Everything depends on how Kishi is able to put their relationship into words. Hmm. He did. He didn't have to make them say 'I love you, let's date'. He made them say different words that were much more significant, that made more sense with them, that matched the quality, nuance and emotional heights of their love. Kishi does stress on the importance of words and communication though. I have talked about it here.
Love triangle? Yes, in team seven. Both Naruto and Sakura like Sasuke romantically. Naruto experienced love and became an adult, he surely did. Thanks to Sasuke. It was his memory and Naruto's feelings for him that goaded him to become stronger and more mature and determined af. It isn't a coincidence vote two was right after it was revealed that it was Naruto's seventeenth birthday, he has literally and metaphorically come of age. And then he tells Sasuke again how much he loves him, how he really truly felt about him. In chapter 698. And Sasuke concedes, he is finally at peace, now that he has heard it from Naruto's own mouth. It was important for him to know these 'words'. Words are what gave him his resolution. Naruto's words that he couldn't very well say before.
Kishi was writing this story at a time when it was not acceptable in shounen to have major gay characters. I don't think that's the case today either. Although what we do know is that Naruto anime did try to hetishize Naruto and tried to distract from many sus scenes by adding non canon stuff to it. From Wiki.
Especially not the MC. Naruto is supposedly the first shounen MC to have kissed another boy on the mouth. In canon. This was written under the facade of comedy, as a lot of scenes were especially with Naruto, Kishi had to find a way to create smokescreens and red herrings so as not to get caught red handed. It's not an easy job for the writer to do this and make it believable and effective and so impactful. The average shounen consumer was happy with it, those who looked for a fuller and more layered approach, and complexity in their media also loved it. There was something for everyone in it. This was no easy feat. This takes real talent. And kishi was motivated to do it and how. And he did it too. But it wasn't smooth as butter. He had to fight his editors several times on multiple scenes. Like the reverse oiroke jutsu you are talking about. Very sus, wasn't it? It was meant to be. Or the fight at the vote two. He didn't compromise with his story to the best of his ability. But imagine the pressure he was under. We need to dig a little deeper. It's never that black and white. If it was that bad, then it is safe to assume that Kishi didn't feel comfortable revealing the nature of their relationship explicitly. A lot of artists have gotten canceled or blacklisted for less. Plus, if the gay tones were so overt, the anime would have faced difficulties getting distributed in other countries, mainly North America, because of their syndication rules. From Wiki.
And I have a feeling that Kishi was also reticent because of his own orientation. There has been much debate on this. But I strongly suspect that Kishi relates with Naruto's character. He has said it himself that he sees himself in Naruto. Naruto is his projection, self insert. And Sasuke is his muse, the classic archetypical, dreamy, beautiful but deadly bishounen, that everyone desires, including men. Like Sasuke has been clearly depicted. And I think Kishi is in a similar predicament as Naruto.
4) Naruto and Sasuke are not reincarnated brothers. It's their chakra. That doesn't make them brothers. How exactly does that make them brothers? Where does Kishi make anyone say it or imply it? Madara and Hashirama also had Ashura's and Indra's chakras but people are okay with calling them gay for each other. They were also given very homoerotic scenes. Just like Sasuke and Naruto. But the same people who deny SNS ship Hashimada lol. Unfair, isn't it? They have the special chakras because they are the fated saviours of their world. That reincarnated chakras make them brothers, though is already a ridiculous argument, in no universe cancels out the rest of the story. That's not how it works. The point is Sasuke and Naruto were written as main act of the story. This was the main act, vote two. You know which other thing has a main act just like Shippuden? This.
A double suicide narrative was already in the making, and then Kishi makes sure that his main act is the same as the main act of Chikamatsu's shinjuu plays. Chikamatsu is considered as one the greatest, most prolific playrights Japan has ever produced. His work is pretty much a part of the cultural and literary imagination of Japan. Kishi wanted to pay homage to him, like many other modern Japanese creators.
The main act comes at the end, led by everything that has happened before. The hero and heroine have already tried everything else. But in the main act, they die together after the most profoundly emotional interaction/depiction that rends your heart. Although, in Kishi case, they think they are dead, but they aren't. They live. Kishi had already thought of this ending panel by panel and line by line many years before chapter 698 was published. Hehe. Writers are serious about these things, they have to be isn't it? It's their job. Anyway, that's how crazy this man is. And I love him for it. Don't underestimate him. He did a lot for fans. He is a wonderful artist. He had to give up at the end. And it sucks. But he did his best.
Hopefully this answers your questions.

I am learning to love. I know when I meet people if they have this secret skill.
I did a meditation the other day.
That I loved you more that you loved me..
That you were too guarded to love, which makes sense
It's crazy to love someone you've never met.
1 Corinthians 13
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
I didn't realize that I didn't know how to love. I knew I was different from other people, and I didn't hold space like Holly, I just thought she was superhuman, not that my parents were lying when they said they loved me. That most people are lying when they say they love someone. If it was you and your last $10, would you still love the person next to you, especially if you weren't fucking?
I was meditating and praying over my love life. You came up and I let energy through my heart and I could feel that you had some heavy stuff. I realized no one loved me. But I also didn't love anyone. Love and lust feel the same. If you've never known the specific differences inside of hurt, pain, trauma, life. The big game.
That doesn't keep me from believing. Or from wanting you too deeply. In my bad days, you're with other beautiful, successful, women. While I nakedly contemplate my life and my true meaning. What's the truth, what's real, what's behind the day-to-day, what are we all peddling and why? When it's all said and done, what's the point of life? And I know attention, popularity/fame, isn't it.
The truth makes you feel crazy.
The truth compels me to do the right thing.
The truth. What is mine? When it comes to your shadow vs flattery and social acceptance/group think. Who are you, what do u live and die for? What do you love? What is authenticity. Who are you, (really) . ?
The more authentic I feel, the more I want to talk to you.
Be a part of your life. Hibernate in your bed.
Arms around your neck, clinging to you, asking for you. Always.
Being your favorite tease....
Having babies. Seeing you happy. Then I think, I've never loved anyone. If I've never wanted to give them everything.
------
I hear your name multiple times a day. I pray over your life, I've seen you very old, you're comfortable.
I once saw you contemplating your life, and an armchair (I think it was yellow) in a big house, all alone.
I also heard my mom say that I move to New York with my boyfriend and she doesn't hear from me anymore. Thats usually what I hold onto when I'm at my worst. Being happy with you and vengeance and revenge are all things of the past.

I understand what u were saying ill try to be a bit more concise this time
1. You asked me along with the others you tagged why we were so judgy. I get why you asked that but I also want you to know I didn't say what I said just because of that one post, I said what I said because before seeing what u said in the ask we had already seen her apology and THEN a couple minutes later the asks you sent came afterwards so I reacted how I saw it so I was defending myself because u said why we were judgy when that wasn't exactly the case at all but i can see why u thought that way
2. Ik I'm not a part of it but I also said what I did because I personally went under her comments when she answered your ask and told her that she did apologize and wanted to reassure her thay everything was fine as well as voice my own confusion since let's be honest no one wants to see any loa blog be seen or heard of in a negative light especially when the purpose of the blog is to help ppl better there lives. I also said my opinion on it due to stuff like that unfournately not being uncommon and anons negatively spamming and pretending to be multiple ppl does happen but like I mentioned before it was all big misunderstanding
3. I didn't accuse anyone of spamming but I went based off what was seen in front of me. @luckykiwiii101 9/10 did the same thing just went based off what was happening right in front of her once again, just misunderstandings which is also why I said the whole thing about being in anon mode because it does kinda make things worse sometimes even if not intended. Also I still stand on my statement about the things that happened when some anons asks aren't answered but I do understand what u mean about just not answering them at all.
4. You say you weren't accusing me of anything and just didn't want anyone to have a bad image of @queenofuniverses which i understand but that's kinda hypocritical in a sense due to the fact you said in that one line "why are yall so judgy". You said that one line wasn't to attack me but to just get our attention so we could see your pov and understand the whole thing a little better, but the line itself is an attack regardless, just like how u saw what I said as judgy
5. I see what you mean on not being able to dm her abd the ask was the only way you could've reached to her this leads me back to a statement u said earlier about the situation having nothing much to do with me and others u mentioned. if ik I can't get both sides of a story properly just leave it be, ofc there's nothing wrong with checking up on someone who is hurting and going through something though. Orr we should all just keep the golden rule that if we don't have anything nice to say simply don't say anything at all
6. Also last thing I had just noticed u said u went anon because u didn't want your blog to be associated with anyone bad or low and while there's nothing wrong with that and it is normal to just go anon, do u not think acting on how u felt in the moment when u sent that ask in anon mode made it any better? I get some ppl be crazy stans on here but still if your point is to stand up against something or call out something u felt was wrong regardless of what repercussions come with it all I'm saying is stand on that without feeling the need to go in anon. It may or may not ruin your privacy that u enjoy and stuff but either way it wouldve been bound to happen.
I hope all that I said made some kinda sense
Dear @queenofuniverses
Dear @queenofuniverses
I don’t know what “queen” of what universe you are…but if it’s anything, it’s the universe of lies.
Thanks to a great person, I caught you. Did you really think I wouldn’t catch you?
Trying to gaslight me…and then getting caught. Embarrassing.
SPOTTED: @queenofuniverses sends @luckykiwiii101 a rude ask saying…
Then I scrolled my page looking for this “alleged” ask that a poor girl supposedly sent me.
And guess what I found.
Nothing. Here’s the post -> CLICK HERE
I didn’t reply to any ask about a girl who’s father passed away. But your delusional self thought you could trick me.
Then you proceeded to send me another ask which I replied to AFTER the previous one you sent me. Except this time, you weren’t on anonymous mode…
Then I proceeded to apologise thinking what you said was actually true?
Here’s the post -> CLICK HERE
Little did you know that you slipped up. Nobody sent me an ask about their father passing away. I even mentioned in my reply that I would not have reacted insensitively if somebody told me that..
Harassing bloggers and posing as somebody else defending them to make me seem like a bad person? PATHETIC!
No way you just sent me an anonymous ask pretending to be somebody else in order to defend yourself and act like a remorseful civilian defending a poor innocent girl they saw on tumblr to make me look like a bad person whilst you were spamming me with asks.
Think about that for a second…

🐉 Mabel from Gravity Falls crushing on Dipper's girl friend headcanons? Like she helps Dipper a lot with the mystery stuff which leads to Mable also hanging out with them a lot and accidently developing a crush. How would she realize it, go about it and react since she was always boy crazy but now she's crushing on a girl. Love you! <3
A/N: I LIVE FOR BISEXUAL MABEL OMG! Also HAPPY PRIDE MONTH EVERYONE ‼️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
AND AND HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY GRAVITY FALLS <333 AGAIN
I can't believe it's been 10 years omg.
Btw I assume by "Dippers girl friend" you meant plotanic because I'm not up for a love triangle 😭 /lh. I HOPE U ENJOY 🐉 ANON <3333
FIRST OF ALL!!! I feel like she'd have the "proper gay crisis" like Nick Nelson had from Heartstopper 💀
She's so confused! At first she thought she just really liked you as her best friend, like a really good best best friend. She always talked about you to Dipper and her friends non stop to the point it got actually tiring and annoying according to them. It was like Mabel were talking about the same way about you like she always talks about her make crushes. Dipper is the first one to notice obviously.
….
"Mabel? This is probably a weird question but-"
"Huh? What? It's not weird unless you say it's weird, Dipper! Spit it out!"
"Is it possible you might… uh.. have a crush on Y/n?"
"WHAT"
And then she'll rant about how there's no way she has a crush on you.
"I don't! She's great and all! Y/n's so pretty, cool, sweet, nice, kind hearted, weirdly too good to be in this world, but there's no way I have a crush on her! I like boys! I think… right?"
"Mabel, stop lying to yourself. Be honest. I'm pretty sure you have a thing for Y/n. Either way, I'm still here for you, you know?"
"Mason! I told you, I don't have a crush on her!"
"Alright… suits yourself then. I'm just gonna go hang out with Wendy." Dipper gets up from his bed and heads out of the door.
"Wait, no!!!"
The male brunette stops and raises his eyebrow.
"I'll admit, I don't know who I like, okay? Don't tell anyone! Not even grunkle Stan! I'm just.. I don't know. Can you please help me out?"
Dipper walks back towards Mabel, sitting down in front of her.
"Listen Mabel, you know I would help you. At literally anything! But this is your feelings. This is about you. You have to figure this out alone. But you could maybe talk with those gay cops? Aren't they like… together? At least I think so. Would be surprised if they weren't."
"But I can't do it without you! You're smart!"
"I know I am, but not in these kind of stuff! Look at me and Wendy! Yo were the one who helped me get through her. I'm pretty sure you can do this. It's gonna be fine, just take your time okay? Like I said, talk with the cops! I'm sure they'd help you."
"You sure?"
"101%"
"Fine. I'll talk to them, thanks Dipper."
"Anytime, Mabel."
-
So yeah, Dipper is the first one Mabel have told. She'd stay awake all night thinking about you. Thinking if she really has a crush on you. This would stay for like a week or something- until she finally de dies to talk to the gay cops. They told her that there's also something called bisexuality. You can like both or two genders at the same time.
After that, she felt more relieved, but still had a gay crisis in the middle of the night. She'd rant about it to her brother.
And then after days and days of thinking, confusion, considering,,
"I think I might, MIGHT, be bisexual."
EVERYONE IS OFC HAPPY 4 HER!!1!1! But now onto the confession part because YEAH
-
Mabel is pretty straight forward in a good way. She's always honest in the most nicest way! When she'd probably confess the moment she sees you. She'd be like "Hey Y/n! Can we talk for a bit? If you're not busy?" And then she'd take you somewhere more private and say "Listen Y/n, you did something to me. Can you guess what it is?" And you'll just stand there confused and nervous because you're scared if you did something wrong. "What is it?" "You made me bi! How cool is that?!" "Wait wha-"
There will be a lot of explaining to do, and thinking. At the end you accepted her feelings and you like her back!! She was so happy and excited she started hopping and hugging you so tight.
Dipper is such a supportive brother and friend as I said before <33. He's definitely jealous of Mabel because she got a girlfriend first AHSJSHSJ

oh my god HELLO i just logged back into tumblr and i screamed when i saw the two chapters you posted 😭 THEY ARE SERIOUSLY everything i could’ve dreamt of and more holy shit u are now my fave person in the world. also yes dw i did mean lover by taylor PLS. u have seriously made me the happiest person on the planet and i will be reading all 10k+ words. ily never stop writing
HI LOVE IM SO GLAD YOU'RE LIKING THIS 😭 you're officially my fave person in the world too, ily and thank u for such sweet words!!
here's chapter three <3
i want them all, robin x you (part 3!)
"We could let our friends crash in the living room
This is our place, we make the call"
part 2! part 4!
You leave the living room to go find more ice and smile like an idiot when you see her cleaning a couple of cups on the sink. Seeing her exist so naturally in your own house still made you unreasonably happy.
She was always beautiful, but tonight it was almost too much. Happiness did that for her. And, against all odds, she had been wrong all those times before. People, or a few of them, weren't that bad. Having friends was not a time bomb, a catastrofe waiting to happen, an eternal countdown. It was pretty cool. And it made her happy. So happy.
This year had been absolutely insane. It was exhausting to even think about it. But along the chaos, hatred and tragedy you two had grown closer to people you'd never in the world would’ve thought. I mean, fucking Steve Harrington was in your house right now! And you were okay with it! You were more than okay. You –and don't you ever tell him– kinda liked him..? Sophomore you is probably calling you a traitor in every language possible, how could you like that idiot?
Honestly, it had been just as surprising as it sounds. It’s not like you planned it.
But Robin and you desperately needed jobs during the summer –cause again, the running away thing– and the mall had recently opened so that was the most obvious choice. Besides, it meant spending all that time together without thinking excuses for your parents, and for two hormonal teenagers who had started dating just a couple months before, it was the best news in the world. Until you found out who was the third person that was gonna be working there. No joke, you almost quit on the spot. Not Steve! Literally anyone but Steve. And you knew Robin felt the same, even though she assured you pretty much every day that Tammy Thompson was not someone she thought about anymore.
But he was pretty chill now that he was out of Hawkins High. Which only proved your theory, school was a monster. He was great with kids, (he had a lot of kid friends, that was kinda weird) he knew how to handle customers (unless it was pretty girls) and he would always cover your shift if you needed to. He was also falling for your girlfriend, which wasn’t great but it was a bit amusing. Overall, he was a good guy.
But you liking Steve was only the beginning of the crazy things that happened during the summer. First there was the code, then the fucking elevator, then the russians (how could you forget the russians?) and then the magic kid and the giant monster.
So it was safe to say, summer had been wild.
Autumn had flown by after all that mess, and senior year had been good so far. Nobody tells you how exciting school can be when you have someone to secretly make out with in the bathroom. Your relationship was as good as it's ever been, keeping secrets was basically second nature for both of you. As sad as that might sound.
Good thing is, your mom and dad had decided to take a vacation for the holidays. Three. Entire. Weeks. Of an empty house and a possibility for you two of, inside these four walls, having a normal life. She had packed a bag and told her parents you were going to yet another break up and were in the urgent need of a “girls week”. Sometimes, like two percent of the time, being gay ruled.
You had spent these weeks cooking, reading, singing and wearing down every vinyl on your collection. Doing all those things you normally wouldn't. And it has been the best time of your life. Every time it got clearer and clearer that Robin was who you wanted to spend your life with. Even if that was something you would never confess to her right now. Even if legally that couldn’t even happen.
“You’re staring” she says. You just snort and hug her from behind. Struggling to get to her shoulder.
“Who gave you the right to be this tall, huh? Who do you think you are?” she laughs at your tease, pretending she can't hear what you're saying from so far above. With that she earns a light punch to her side.
“Ow!”
“You deserved it” you say with a smile that gets quickly attacked by her kiss. Surprised, you look at her with your eyebrows up. “What was that?”
“Oh, it's just something called kissing…” she jokes “I can give lessons anytime soon if you want. Ow!” another punch to the side.
“I mean– we have guests in the house”
“So what? They’re over there and it wouldn’t be so bad either if they found out, right?” your face shows confusion but you keep your smile. “Why are you looking at me that way? If you don’t want them to find out, I won’t tell them or do anything in front of them. At least not on purpose, but you know how hard it is for me to actually shut up! I mean the other day Steve heard me say goodbye to you over the phone and I had to tell him my grandma calls me babygirl and–- “
You kiss her again just to shut her up. A very recurrent situation in your relationship.
“I don’t care, Rob. But I thought you did…” you hug her a little tighter and you feel her relax in your arms.
“I mean, it’s not like I want the entire school to know about it… But maybe just Steve?”
“You wanna tell Steve?” you ask once again just to make sure she’s really okay with it.
“Yeah”
“Alright, then we’ll tell him.” you smile and she follows right after “We wait until Nancy and Jonathan are gone?” she nods and you let her continue with the dishes. The music sounds muffled from here, but you can hear laughter above it.
“So, just for the sake of the tradition…” you ask, sitting above the counter, next to her. “Where are you thinking of running away this year?”
She smiles to herself and thinks for a minute before answering, gaze never leaving the cups.
“Honestly… nowhere.”
You gasp, jokingly. “Who are you and what have you done to my girlfriend?”
She laughs a bit, but she’s serious when she says:
“What have you done to me? You made Hawkins a livable place!”
That thought, the fact that she didn’t care about where she was physically as long as she had you, made you melt with love. She was the sweetest person and you loved her so much it hurt. So, naturally, before leaving the kitchen with the ice in hand you have to steal one more kiss from her. You had planned a simple, quick kiss, but your girlfriend decided to grab your face and deepened it. You had cero (0) complaints, of course, but when you hear Jonathan’s steps in the hallway you barely have time to pull away.
“Guys? Steve just landed on the sacred stair and he might have to go back all the way to the start!” he explains as he enters the kitchen. You both hope he wont realize the faint traices of sexual tension left on the air. Or how you two are a liiitle closer than usual “Hurry up!”
You grab the ice and follow him out of the kitchen, not before shooting Robin a grin.
The other two were still in the living room playing some kind of game Dustin had invented. It made absolutely no sense, but Steve had promised to learn the rules and play with him. Robin had landed in some kind of pit so she had lost fifteen turns. Jonathan was a little ahead of you, but he had terrible luck with the dice. You were doing pretty good, but had drawn a curse card at the beginning of the game, which made it impossible for you to advance more than five steps at a time. And Nancy and Steve were currently fighting for the win. Nancy, who had landed on the “silence cave” and could not talk for the next two turns, was four steps behind him, but now Steve had landed on the “Sacred Stair”.
“So now if you get anything but a three you're doomed?” you ask, incredulously, as soon as you sit back on the table.
Nancy nods, Jonathan checks the handwritten manual for the fifth time, and you can’t help but laugh at Steve’s worried face.
“C’mon, Steve. You can do this.” he cheers himself up. You hear Robin scream “WAIT FOR ME” from the kitchen. A couple seconds later she's back at her spot next to you.
“Give me a three, a three, a three…” he throws the little dice a little too hard, it rolls and rolls and falls under the table. “NOBODY MOVE” All of you four find it hilarious how seriously he was taking this game.
“ITS A FIVE” informs your girlfriend with a smile on her face.
“NO WAY”
“YOU LOST!” joyfully screams Nancy, who was also taking this more seriously than she should.
“WHERE IS IT?”
“Now you have to go back to the book of secrets, babe” laughs her boyfriend.
“ITS A FUCKING FIVE. OH, C'MON!” he laments “After all the time that I spent trying to get the fives for the Philosopher Monster!”
And for a second everyone is happy –except for Steve, obviously– and for the first time in your life you are certain you have found your people.
The rest of the night practically flies by and when you all notice it’s ten thirty. Jonathan and Nancy had promised to be home by eleven, to celebrate with their families, so they say goodbye and thank you for the invitation. Nancy doesn’t lose the opportunity to make fun of Steve one more time before leaving.
“Let’s do this again sometime!” says Jonathan, kind as always.
“Yes! Can’t wait to beat you again, Steve!”
“Oh, shut up”
After a little more bickering the couple is gone and Steve stands by the door awkwardly. You know the problem, he didn’t have any family to spend the night with and he was also too embarrassed to tell you both, which was ridiculous.
“Well… I should get going too…”
“Steve, dingus, you can stay over '' clarifies Robin. His face lights up a bit, but he’s still a bit unsure.
“You’re sure?” he asks you, the owner of the house.
“Of course, Harrington.” You smile and he gives you a hug that catches you off guard. He even takes advantage of the height difference too and lifts you a little off the ground. You laugh and hit him on the back of the head, jokingly. “Put me down, idiot!” he does so and thanks you once more “Now, when you had the genius idea of knocking the board off the table–“
“Nancy’s fault!”
“… you also knocked the little carrots, I want them out of my floor by the time I’m done with dishes. Robin you’re in swapping duty, or the spilled soda it's gonna end up sticking to the floor”
“Yes, ma’am!” They both say. Posing as soldiers, with hands on their foreheads. You roll your eyes, and make your way to the kitchen.
After a while of tedious cleaning, —those damn carrots had flown everywhere— you take downstairs the couple of mattresses you kept for visitors and make a big bed in the middle of the living room. Steve’s early Christmas gift for Robin and you, a Queen record, was playing softly in the background and the clock on the wall marked fifteen minutes till midnight.
Steve’s in the bathroom but Robin and you are already in bed. She’s nervous, you can tell. She’s slightly trembling and fidgeting with her hands. It isn’t really the first time you both do this, but it’s as terrifying as the last time:
You two walk the distance between your math class and Mr Hauser’s classroom as you damn this fucking school for being so closed minded. All you wanna do right now is hold her shaking hand.
“We don't have to do this, you know?”
“But I want to.” She reminds you. You’re unsure “I really do. I'm just a bit nervous.”
“Are you sure this is gonna be fine? Maybe we could start with someone safer?” you offer when you face the door. Robin shakes her head no.
“Trust me, there’s no one safer than Mr Hauser.” you’re still not a hundred percent convinced, but she looks sure of her words and you would trust her with your life, so you knock on the door.
You both enter after you hear his “come in!”. He looks surprised to see you.
“Robin! Y/N! How nice to see you both” he greets.
“Hi” says Robin, who’s getting more and more nervous every second that passes.
“Hi, Mr Hauser.”
You occupy the first two seats as you chat about your winter break. Well, you and Mr Hauser, Robin is weirdly quiet because of the nerves. You try to help by holding her hand under the table.
“All the way to California?” the teacher is telling you about the winter break he spent visiting his family “That must have been nice"
“Yes! Great weather. And I even managed to find a copy of–”
“SO WE'RE DATING” says Robin out of the blue. You look at her astonished. “Y/N and I, we’re kinda– not kinda, we’re dating.” she explains. Her face is the same shade of red as her converse.
“Oh…” he says with a confused smile. You hold your breath, you know how much Mr Hauser means to her and not having his support would be devastating for Robin. “That’s great! I’m happy for you both"
You continue with the conversation, Robin actually participating this time. You even get to tell him all about your traveling plans. You also find out Mr Hauser was already aware of Operation Croissant, apparently Robin told him all about it, and he confesses he pretty much knew there was something going on between you two.
You’re having a really good time, but after a while you need to go. Today you had a geography test and you needed every second possible to study so you say goodbye to her and the teacher and make your way to the library. As soon as you leave Robin turns back to see Mr Hauser, who’s looking at her with a grin, waiting for her to talk.
“I know that you feel like I'm rushing into this, and it's probably a bad idea to make all these plans when we’re so young and delusional but—” she starts to ramble.
“Robin…"
“No, no, I know what you’re gonna say. ‘That’s just me being really in love for the first time’ but honestly it feels like i'm never gonna love anybody but her. Which I know sounds ridiculous cause we’re only seventeen and we have all our lives ahead of us an–”
“I was going to say that you look genuinely happy for the first time, Robin.” he explains with a small smile.
“Oh…” she breathes “I am. I really am.”
“Then there’s nothing more to say.”
So the whole telling Mr Hauser had gone well, and chances were telling Steve would go just as good. But it still felt awfully scary.
“STEVE, CAN YOU HURRY UP, DUDE?” Robin yells at him. She just wants to let it out.
“IM IN THE BATHROOM” he complains.
“AND WHAT’S TAKING YOU SO LON—?”
“WE DON’T WANT DETAILS. I REPEAT, WE DO NOT WANT DETAILS” you look at her with an ‘are you insane?’ look. Robin shrugs and you sight. “Rob, it’s gonna be okay, dummy. It’s just Steve.”
She looks at you and you know she’s really trying to believe you, but it's just not that simple.
“I know, I know. It 's just… too much, sometimes.” She shows her trembling hands and this time you do kiss her, taking advantage of the fact Steve’s still in the bathroom. Starting to realize this might be the last time hiding kisses. At least from him.
That sounded wonderful. So wonderful you kiss her even fondly. She accepts it, running her hand through your hair.
“WHAT?”
Oh, fuck.
You drift apart from your girlfriend, who is still too shocked to even speak. She has the same guilty smile as you do. Like two kids caught red handed.
“…WHEN? W— WHAT?”
You might have broken Steve.
“YOU TWO ARE…” he starts to guess.
“Dating, yeah.” You explain. But that doesn’t erase his frown and confused gaze.
“For how long?” He says after a few seconds of silence.
You turn to Robin with a knowing look. “…a while”
“FOR HOW LONG Y/LN?” He’s not mad, just surprised. How could he have missed this completely?
“Nine months.” you reply.
“WHAT? SO YOU WERE ALREADY DATING WHEN I MET YOU?”
“Technically–” finally speaks Robin “ …yes. But only for a few weeks.”
“Wait, and all that time I…”
“Wanted to bang my girlfriend?” You complete his sentence “Yes, that was funny. But I don’t blame you, though, look at her.”
“Oh, shut up” complains Robin, rolling her eyes at you. You respond by sticking your tongue out. She tries to hide her smile, but, as always, fails miserably.
You’re about to make fun of her yet again, but remember Steve’s still sitting in front of you. He’s wearing one of your giant t-shirts, those he's been trying to steal for the longest time, you make a mental note to make sure he actually gives it back before leaving tomorrow morning. He’s still processing, you think, but just to make sure Robin asks:
“Are you… Are you okay with it?” there’s worry in her voice and that makes him snap out of his thoughts.
“Of course!” he assures and you feel her breathe again. It physically hurts to see her that anxious. She didn’t deserve a single bad thing. Ever. “I mean it’s a lot. And I feel like an idiot for not noticing–”
“Oh, that’s old news, Steve.” Robin chuckles, he doesn't find it as funny.
“Well I was gonna talk about how you two are actually a match made in heaven and how I'm so happy for you guys, but whatever...”
“Dear God, you’re such a drama queen.”
“Come over here, you dingus.”
You three hug and when you drift apart Robin’s smile could light up the room. You have never seen her smiling so big. It takes you every bit of self control to not kiss her right there on the spot.
Then you remember. You can! You can kiss her right here right now! In front of someone!
So you do.
“Gross!” Jokes Steve. Earning not one but two punches, one in each shoulder.

i don't want to be alone anymore (sfw)
you and daichi have been best friends since your first year of high school. now that you're in love (and adults) where will you go from here?
pairing: sawamura daichi x reader
wc: 3,373 words
contains: seemingly unrequited love, confessions, covers the nationals arc, friends to lovers, angst, hurt/comfort towards the end, fluff, reader literally has a breakdown and daichi comforts them, reassurance, cuddles, petnames (baby, princess, doll)
a/n: no, i didn't have any idea how to tag this. this fic is a little all over the place and there are several timeskips. the reader is implied to have issues w family and friends so keep that in mind lol. also i marked diff sections of the fic with ✨ this emoji so if u want to skip over certain parts and go straight to the hurt/comfort feel free babey
you were used to being lonely. sure, you worked hard and you had dreams, but there was some part you that remained unfulfilled. it was like a void that gradually dragged you down. you'd managed to supress it for most of your life up until high school, until all of a sudden something changed.
you met sawamura daichi. he was cute, a first year player on the volleyball team. daichi was kind to you. the two of you became fast friends after meeting on the first day at karasuno. during your breaks in between classes the pair of you would talk about anything and everything- volleyball strategies, your latest sketches, even other classmates that were giving you a hard time. you could be silly with daichi. there was no pressure with him, no need to pretend to be perfect.
but there was something scary about this too. by your second year of school you'd been friends with daichi for about a year. it was then that the realization hit- you had never felt this safe, this accepted, or... this loved by another person. when you'd get anxious because of classes or have issues with your family daichi became a shoulder for you to lean on. he'd go out of his way to send you check up texts and leave you little handwritten notes. the first one that you received was a little post-it note that said "you'll do great on your test today! i believe in you- daichi." he'd blushed like crazy when you confronted him about it. it was new to see your usually sturdy and level-headed best friend blush over a silly note that he'd left. there was something different between the two of you after that first note. instead of walking you home like usual he started to keep a hand on the small of your back.
you hadn't been looking. you'd been talking about how awkward your family was when a stray cat slunked into front of the two of you. you almost walked straight into it before the cat bounded away, crossing the empty street and looking back once to meow at daichi and you.
"sorry, is that too much? i just... want to make sure that you don't trip."
you were confused until you realized what had happened. daichi had steadied you by putting his hand on the small of your back. it felt good, for some reason, to trust him to steady you. trust wasn't an easy thing to come by.
you smiled a tad awkwardly before steadying yourself on your own two feet. "not at all daichi. i don't mind."
daichi smiled and the pair of you kept walking. his hand had stayed where it had been. you felt... guilty for being so touch-starved. and for your best friend, of all people?
"how ridiculous" you thought to yourself. when you came home you knew that no one was there. time to start dinner before your family came home. you'd probably retreat to your room and text daichi when that happened.
daichi was so good and so nice, and by your third year of high school the tiny, lingering bit of attraction that you had had for him flourished into a full-blown crush. you felt embarrassed and guilty. never had you let someone get this close to you. never had you ever let anyone write you notes, check in on you, give you genuine-sounding compliments. it was the little things like "are you okay y/n? you seemed a little quiet this morning. are you getting enough sleep?"
graduation came and went. the notion of parting with daichi and your other friends- asahi, suga, and kiyoko- left a pang of grief in your stomach. you were attending a local university and daichi planned to join miyagi's fire department after nationals. you'd still be close to him and he'd still be living at home, but it was weird to think that you'd be seeing one another a lot less.
nationals was when everything boiled over. you'd promised daichi that you'd be in the stands at every game of the competition, cheering him on.
"id love it if you were there, don't get me wrong. but don't feel like you have to jump through hoops for me! it's a bit of a long trip, i don't want you tiring yourself out." he confesses sheepishly. but you really wanted to go- his mom and siblings couldn't because of school and work, but they'd given him their best wishes.
"I'll hitch a ride with saeko and the crew. she and i work at the same restaurant on the weekends. we already talked and she said she'd be more than happy." you chirp. daichi seems a bit less worried about you after this, but then he remembers.
"um. y/n. you know that saeko drives... well, not badly, just... scarily?" he only seems to be partially joking.
you laugh at his worried expression. "I'll be okay pal. we'll make one of saeko's taiko buddies take the wheel."
daichi mock sighs in relief and you laugh together. this was the last moment that daichi had before nationals where he wasn't laden with anticipation over whether karasuno would succeed or not. he felt relaxed, with you. he thought you were cute, and awkward sometimes, and smart, and... good. so good. you didn't always look to him like he was an authority figure and you were small. he didn't feel the pressure to make sure you behaved or kept you in line because you were good at putting up a front and keeping yourself "in order." sometimes daichi wished that you would let him take care of you, let him listen more often. he wished that you would let him love you.
oh.
oh shit.
"daichi? um, daichi?"
daichi blushed and was snapped back to reality. he... loved you? that's what that care for you was all of these years. that's why he wanted to know if you were taking care of yourself, if you weren't burning yourself out with pleasing your family and school and work. sure, he thought you were cute. he picked up on all of your idiosyncrasies, even sometime pointing them out to you. he had had an inkling that *maybe* he had a little crush on you... but the care that he had come to find that he had for you was so great. he had to do something- everyone was leaving for school and the championships would be over and then when would he see you again? there was this great, big fear of losing you due to confessing. but that fear was minuscule compared to you, his studious and independent friend, pushing him away and forgetting.
"sorry. i was just lost in thought."
✨
yes, you, saeko, and the taiko group arrived a *tad* late and missed the tokonami match. yes you felt guilty for missing it. but when karasuno won against inarizaki and you saw daichi and the team celebrate the win, it was all worth it. you cheered as loud as you can, and once the players cleared from the court, you scrambled to greet daichi.
you see him in the lobby and almost leap into his arms. he laughs. "aaa, hey y/n." he croaks.
you giggle. "hey daichi. congratulations. you were amazing out there."
he's smiling through the sweat and fatigue. you notice, out of the corner of your eye, asahi and suga slowly backing away to leave the two of you alone. suga clicks his tongue, making daichi whip his head around, and he gives the captain a thumbs up." daichi sighs and sets you down, and the two of you are left in the stadium lobby. volleyball players and spectators mingle around, getting food and shopping for merchandise. daichi runs a hand through his hair and turns to you.
"do you want to go outside? there's something that i have to tell you."
anxiety shoots through you. if it's daichi, it can't be bad. of course not. that's one of your best friends. right?
the two of you make your way to the front doors of the stadium and get some fresh air. the sky is blue and the wind is refreshing against your skin. daichi, still sweaty and tired from his game, seems to enjoy it too.
you giggle as he stretches. daichi sits on a nearby bench and gestures for you to do so too. you notice a little shake in his hands as he does so. he's fiddling with the zipper of his karasuno jacket in that cute way that you know he does.
there's a sense of unease, and it's up to you to break the silence. you're alone with sawamura daichi, your best friend and longtime crush.
"daichi? what's wrong?" you ask, concerned.
daichi looks to you, a flush on his cheeks and a light in his eyes. he looks so cute, even when he's tongue-tied and tired from a game.
he takes a deep breath, and the words come out.
"i like you a lot, y/n"
you blink, confused. then it hits you. your crush, sawamura daichi, likes you. like, the boy that you think about way too much, the boy that you feel safe with, the absolute gentleman who cares about you and respects you instead of walking all over you, likes you.
you realize that you haven't said anything before you stutter.
"i-i like you too, daichi. so much."
he's blushing. your face is growing hot despite the winter air. the two of you, literal adults, are reduced to awkward messes because of this confession.
"o-oh. that's... good. i think that that's good." daichi awkwardly says. he laughs a little, then it turns into a full-blown bellow. you can't help but laugh too at how ludicrous the situation is. two friends who have known each other for years, caring about each other, eventually falling for each other. who knew?
"also suga made a bet and told me to confess to you if we won against inarizaki. he told me after the tokonami match. i agreed." daichi huffs after the laughter subsides.
"of course he did. im glad that he did it though." you joke.
"yeah. because then i wouldn't have you." he smiles, getting up. he extends a hand to you, helping you from the bench
"let's go back to the group. i don't want to miss lunch."
✨
it's been months after nationals. you and daichi are in a relationship, happy to be with one another. he's taken you on so many wonderful dates and his family seems to love getting to know you more. but there's still something that's missing. you've always struggled to open up to people completely. even daichi doesn't know what you're like when you completely break.
that changes one day when you have to travel from your dorm, to your parents house, then to daichi's for a date. it was supposed to be casual- just you and him in your pajamas, watching movies and eating takeout. but after being berated by your family for your career choice it triggered something in you. you felt like a little kid again, being told that you're not enough, being slowly manipulated by your family into burning yourself out. dachi helped the loneliness subside, but you knew that, inside, you were still the same little kid. that thought made something inside you recoil, but you pushed it down and made your way to daichi's.
you settle into his bed, your partner beside you. you take a good look at him- your man, sturdy and stronger from work at the fire department. suddenly, you can't help but break for some reason. tears flood your eyes and they won't stop for some reason.
"baby? baby what's wrong?"
you didn't deserve him. why were you even friends with him? someone this nice, this gentle with you, this kind? you wanted him to kick you out for crying. you wanted him to break up with you, because good things don't last.
you were so embarrassed and you'd felt so weak and stupid. you'd never been allowed to cry before, you'd always been told that it was a sign of weakness. good children didn't cry, so now that you were grown up you shouldn't either.
daichi hadn't judged you. he just set the tv remote down and moved in to hug you. other people's touches usually made you flinch and swat them away, but it was never like that with him. not when he supported the small of your back when you fell, not when you jumped into his arms, not when he took your hand after your mutual confession.
the two of you were hugging now, your chin on his shoulder and his head tucked into your side. you could stay like this forever. he was so warm. you could feel the two of your heartbeats almost sinking into one as your sobs quieted down and your breathing slowed to normal. this was the effect that he had on you. it was in this moment that you realized that you loved him- you truly did. the brown-eyed, sturdy, kind, careful, gentle boy that you'd met on the first day of high school had become your friend. then he was your crush. now that you two were adults, he was your first partner. the first person that you had ever fallen truly, deeply in love with.
you felt weak for desiring a love that was this tender. pessimistic you has you thinking that maybe all of the bad things that happened when you were growing up- your family being distant, friends leaving, you feeling alone all of the time- were a sign. a sign that you didn't deserve love. but if you were undeserving, if the pessimistic side of you was right, maybe you could have this moment to keep instead. is that it? if a whirlwind kind of love was too much to ask, you could just keep these moments with daichi close to your heart. if it was possible to take this feeling and keep it in a bottle, you would.
in between sobs, you vent.
"everything sucks, daichi. my family has always been so critical of me. i never get to see any of our friends anymore. im trying to succeed at school but my family won't get off my back. i feel so alone."
daichi pulls away to look at you. his palm is cupping your face and uses his thumb to wipe a tear away. you sniffle. you struggle to meet his beautiful brown eyes, averting your gaze. but you can feel his gaze on you, and when you do finally find the courage to make eye contact, he looks at you with nothing but affection. for some reason you don't feel judged by him. you don't feel... bad for crying in front of him anymore. he's looking at you with nothing but acceptance, nothing but care.
"hey." he starts in a small, gentle voice. "i know how you feel about crying, doll. but it's okay to cry. no matter what your parents say about you, you're a good person. a lovely person, even. you're a good friend too. what they think is stupid." he smiles a little. you love that smile- the way that his eyes crinkle a little and his cheeks dimple. he holds one of your hands in both of his. "i love you. you're good, and smart, and kind, and hardworking. you forget to take care of yourself sometimes, but i think that that's okay. while you're learning how to show yourself more compassion I'll take care of you in the meantime. whatever you need, doll. you're safe with me. no matter what. okay?"
you're crying again. great. you don't stop yourself this time and you throw yourself into his arms. he's there, waiting for you. you let yourself sob into his chest while he gently rubs your back. he holds you in his big, strong arms and hugs you closer. you don't feel suffocated and you don't feel humiliating to be crying. you feel safe. it sucks to cry over what your family thinks of you and it sucks that you don't feel like enough. it sucks that you've felt alone for most of your life. it sucks that you feel guilty for wanting love and it sucks that sometimes, you feel guilty for loving daichi so much. but as he holds you and presses a kiss to the top of your head, nuzzling your hair, all of the pain is tinged with something warm. something safe. something so, so safe. a feeling that you'd never felt before.
it's in that moment that you know- daichi isn't a whirlwind. he isn't a storybook prince that will whisk all of your problems away. no, he's somehow better. he's a pillar of support, a source of comfort, a prince in his own right. no, he won't save you- you still have to take care of yourself. but he'll support you, fill in the gaps, love you unconditionally. maybe a fix-it-all is too much to ask, but you couldn't care less about that now. all that you want his daichi. he takes care of you. he respects you. he loves you, despite your flaws and your feelings of weakness and those moments like now when you just need to be held. he loves you.
when you've stopped crying your voice is croaky and you feel gross. you look up at daichi and he hands you a box of tissues from the nightstand. you're an ugly crier, you know that. but daichi doesn't seem to judge as you dab at your eyes and look to check your reflection in his room mirror. it feels wrong to leave the comfort of his arms, but it also feels like instinct to check your composure. when you're done you turn around to face him, eyes tired.
"do you want to talk about it doll?" you're about to object, in a prefunctory sort of way, but he cuts in. "baby, i don't mind. really. i just want to know that you're okay. i just want to know that you feel safe. you've endured a lot and the way that you feel matters."
you sniffle. "im fine not talking for now daichi. im... tired. just tired. from crying. i just want to sleep." when he shows you nothing but understanding, you stutter out one last request
"ww-will you hold me?"
"of course, princess. ive got you."
you clamber back to bed. daichi and you shift positions so that he's laying down and you're against his chest. he smells like that nice, crisp soap that he always uses. you bury your face in his chest once more, before laying on your side to the sound of his heartbeat.
you sigh. "i love this sound. it lets me know that you're here with me. it let's me know that you're real."
daichi chuckles warmly. you can hear the sound reverberate throughout his chest and it tickles your ear. he's so sweet. it's then that he promises something to you.
"im here, darling. and i am not going anywhere."
your eyes water a little at that. "i love you, daichi. you're my best friend."
he sighs, and it's like you can feel his warm, gentle smile from where you're resting. "i love you too, doll. so much. you are the most precious thing in the world to me."
you know in that moment that you are loved- genuinely, indellibly loved. the roughness and loneliness that you once endured is no more. despite everything, you're learning how to love yourself and to take care of yourself. it feels so, so lonely sometimes and the work seems endless. but whenever you need someone to catch you when you fall, you know that your love, daichi, will be there. forevermore.
his heartbeat relaxes you as you snuggle deeper into his chest. the last words that the two of you utter to one another are ones of love before you both drift off to sleep. you love him- so, so much. and he loves you.

i’m in med school too so i don’t know if this would be of any help but: get ready to fail on tests and have teachers be so demanding of u. you would be feeling as if you were a robot who cant do no mistakes. in highschool i was at my top, had the best grades and even got a scholarship. the moment i started med school it was the HEAVIEST and teachers are going to be RUTHLESS with you. i don’t know how are teachers in other parts of the world but in here they ask you questions about everything till you crack. I had this professor, who was a neurosurgeon, who would ask us in the labs about the sulci and parts of the brain. if you managed to answer him he would ask you even more, he wouldn't stop until he saw that you knew enough. he did this especially to prepare you once you got to the hospital rotations (i’m not sure how you say it in english ?). you really need to learn stuff in such a short span. you will need techniques to memorize. mnemonics are the best! also, after finishing a class go directly to review it and during the week gradually study it together with other subjects. having study groups is the best too. in my case the med school library became my second home. the amount of pressure is insane. there’s a crazy amount of learning you have to do because you will be dealing with LIVES. human lives. but what you really need is the mindset. the mental state of medical students is low, so make sure you prioritize your health whenever you can! in my experience, before entering medicine i worked as best as i could on my mental health and relaxation techniques for stressful situations. however, it doesn't mean you won’t experience this anymore in medical school, so you need to have techniques or know what to do in case of an episode (whether it's depression, anxiety or stress). get ready to fail, demand the best of yourself (always), have a support system, be open about learning, and give a warm welcome to years of no social life outside of school lmao. overall is exhausting and when people are giving you a warning is not out of exaggeration. I say this because I thought so at the beginning and I was so wrong.
(sorry for any grammar mistakes, i’m not a native english speaker!)
yesss the imposter syndrome hit me HARD in med school. when you're in school you're the top student. you're the smartest. everyone tells you how gifted you are and how you're gonna achieve so much. and then you get to med school and everyone around you is smart and gifted, even more than you, and for the first time in your life you feel stupid and inadequate and you start wondering if you're actually smart at all or if you somehow tricked all those people into thinking you're something you're not. my professors weren't actually bad like you're describing but that differs per school but I remember one time during my peak imposter syndrome days I was sitting in class, knowing nothing while seemingly everyone else around me knew everything and the professor stops the lecture to say "if you don't know this stuff already at this point then quit because someone else deserves to be in your place" and fuck I was devastated
great advice on the reviewing everything as soon as you get back thing because things pile up FAST in med school. you don't think it would be so bad but it is and you'll really thank yourself later that you'd looked over the material while it's still fresh. study groups or even just a study partner are another great idea. i never used to study with anyone, couldn't do it, but by the end of med school me and my study partner were pulling each other by the bootstraps. i couldn't have done it without him
+++the social life thing. I thought it wouldn't matter to me because I am a huge introvert but at some point the only thing you'll be doing in your life is studying. your life will revolve around med school and you won't have time to do anything else. and not only just in med school. as a doctor you'll never stop studying or taking tests. yeah the pressure of needing to pass in order to graduate will be gone but you'll still need to study so much that people take weeks off from work just to study for those tests. i just recently had to take two months off work in order to study and take a test. not to mention that you'll be expected to work your ass off the first few years after you graduate in order to learn and gain experience and because consultants aren't going to be the ones to work most patients so say goodbye to your 20's. by the time you come up for air you'll be well into your 30's
and yeah this is all not said just to scare you but because it's true. i too scoffed at the people who told me how hard med school is and continued scoffing at them my first two years. yeah it was hard but it was manageable but boy was I wrong. you won't know what hit you until it's too late :')
so yeah take care of yourself mentally because you'll need the fortitude

Blind Senses (Ravn)

Writer: Kpopmadness (Ju)
*****
There is a lie that every parent tells their child, we hear it when we get scared at night. We are reminded of it over and over again. 'Monsters don't exist' Monsters aren't under your bed, they aren't in the closet, they aren't trying to get in your window. The doors are locked, the window is sealed shut, everything is fine.
The only thing I was worried about when I was little was who my match was; Every child is born with a soul mark, it's the tell of where your soulmate will touch you for the very first time. But when you are touched by your soulmate, the birthmark will turn a bright shade of pink and purple before withering away. Your soulmate having been found.
My birthmark encases my right wrist, a common place for people to have their soul mark. I often forgot about my mark until I looked down and saw my one marked wrist. But every now and again a flutter would slice through my stomach at the thought that one day, that mark would be gone. And I would have found my other half.
When I was 15, my childish dreams changed forever. A science plant exploded suddenly. An experiment gone wrong. There was an orange smoke that rose from the ashes of the building, its angry smoke rushing toward our city. I still remember seeing it outside my bedroom window a second before my mother rushed in with my father and hurried us down to our basement. My father boarding up the windows and doors to block the smoke out. Screaming could be heard outside, ones of fear and agony for those who didn't get inside in time.
In the wake of that science experiment, we were left with mutants. People caught in the smoke developed supernatural powers. Some of these people developed a spiked aggression, using their powers for the worst. That is how my father died. He and a group of scientists were working on a cure for the genetic mutations. But some didn't like that. A group of mutants set up a bomb in the basement of the plant, angry that someone wanted to take their power away. Take away their sense of control.
I still remember being home with my mother when we saw the black cloud with angry flames fill the sky. The earth shaking slightly in its wake. Dread and grief filling us, knowing exactly where the explosion came from. On that day, my life, my goals, and how I viewed people with these special powers, changed.
`````
Alarms ring through the large building, the sound jarring and disorienting. I stand my ground at my station and continue working quickly. I enter a series of commands into my laptop. My fingers shaking violently.
Red lights flash and the sound of people running down the halls fills the small room. I take my lab coat off, the room sweltering. The screen on my laptop shows a loading bar, making me tap my foot impatiently. I was so close to finishing this, it would change how we see mutants. It reversed their DNA to go back to normal, their powers vanishing. The work my father started would finally be complete and I would have a sense of closure.
The lights and alarm cut out, leaving me in blackness except for the screen of my laptop. I suck in a deep breath, letting it out slowly. I was putting my life at risk for the sake of this experiment, but I had come too far to stop now. Eventually, blue lights come on, slightly illuminating the room. When they do, the loading bar on the screen is almost done, my muscles tense. Then the laptop suddenly gets slammed shut, making me jump back.
"Did I interrupt something?" A deep voice asks coldly, his palm firmly on the laptop to keep it shut.
"That's government property." I say firmly, but my voice cracks.
The man smirks at me, seeming amused by my weak attempt at a threat. Like me saying it was something the government owned would make him remove his hand from it and leave in fear.
"Yes, well, you and your government should really stop trying to cure something that doesn't need a cure." He glowers.
"And maybe we wouldn't have to look for a cure if you people weren't destroying families and killing the innocent." I shoot back, anger rising in my chest and filling my veins. My thoughts going to my father.
The man hesitates, his eyes showing a sort of concern and sympathy for my words. I take my chance and make a dive for the laptop, trying to jerk it out from under his strong hand. The man grabs my right wrist, stopping me.
"Do not try it." He snarls, his grip on my wrist horribly tight.
He slowly removes his hand from my wrist, my eyes widening and a gasp escaping my lips when I see my wrist. My soulmate mark shined a bright purple, matching the mark on his hand, then both marks slowly began to fade. Our soulmate marks disappearing. We had found our soulmates.
I stare at the man in front of me, both our eyes wide in disbelief. We were on opposite sides of a war, yet we were meant to be together. Suddenly, everything goes black. At first, I think the lights in the room have gone out. But it's my vision that disappears. I fall to the floor, my legs unable to support me. Panic grips me. I've gone blind.
"Don't worry." The man says soothingly. "I only took your sight away temporarily. Your vision will return in 10 minutes, that's just long enough time for me and my team to escape."
I take several deep breaths, trying to soothe my heart that pounded in my ribs. I spread my fingers out along the cold tile floor, trying to feel for something, anything. That's why I jump when I feel warm hands incase both my hands, making me cower away from the touch. But the grip holds firm.
"I hope we meet again." The man says. His tone sounding like he really meant that. "Maybe then it will be under better circumstances, soulmate."
He squeezes my hands before letting me go, his footsteps fading into the distance. Leaving me to recover my sight slowly, with a swirling heart and mind. I thought he had left, then I hear his voice again.
"By the way, just because I think we should know this for the future, my name is Ravn."
````
3 Years Later;
"No, we have to finish this." I demand as I follow my co-worker around the lab. The earth shaking beneath us, making everyone scurry around the room. Anxiety levels high.
"Well then you finish it then." My co-worker snaps irritably. "We don't want to die here. Unlike you and your obsession with finding this dream cure."
"It's more than that." I plead. Pushing my way through people pushing passed me in panic. The earth giving off another tremble while bright flashes of red light flash outside. Heavy rain pounding against the building like fists.
"You say that and he always comes for you." My co-worker says, whirling around to face me. His eyes raging.
I pause, my brain looking for an excuse. Any excuse. Ravn had come for me and the sought after cure for three years. No matter what I did, no matter how much I tried to hide, he always found me. His devilish smirk always reappearing.
"We're so close though." I say quietly. More of a reminder to myself than to anyone else in the room. Not that they ever listened to me. The population had given up on trying to find a cure a long time ago.
My co-worker sighs, rubbing his temples. "I know this experiment is the only thing of your father you have of him." He says, his tone softened. "But they won't stop chasing you and trying to tear you down. And they are outside as we speak."
I look over my shoulder to the large glass window behind me. Flashes of light and tremors in the earth reminding us that these weren't from natural sources. But from people. People who could control the weather and even create earthquakes to topple a building in seconds. And their leader, my soulmate, just waiting for them to break through our defenses.
"We're evacuating." My co-worker says, pulling my attention back towards him. "Come with us if you want. Otherwise, you can stay and talk to your boyfriend."
I feel a surge of heat course through me, flushing my cheeks a scarlet color. I couldn't find my voice in time to deny that he wasn't my boyfriend before my co-worker hurries off with the rest of my, supposed to be, teammates. At this point in my journey, I was used to working alone and everyone thinking I was crazy for trying to fix something that everyone else had just adjusted to and given up trying to control.
I set my jaw in determination and whirl back to my station, opening my laptop and entering the code. I watched the clock carefully as I worked. The world around me seemed to fall away as I worked, being used to Ravn coming for me to stop me from developing a cure. Our relationship having grown in a strange way. We were soulmates, but we were also enemies.
The lights in the building flicker off, just like they had three years prior when I first met Ravn. My heartbeat picks up but I keep working, knowing I still had a few valuable minutes before he showed up. My laptop gives out a series of beeps, making me step back in surprise. I stare at the screen in shock.
"I did it." I whisper under my breath, a smile spreading across my face. I found the cure to return the mutants back to their normal DNA.
"We really have to stop meeting like this." A familiar deep voice says behind me.
I whirl around and press my back against the counter's edge, trying to hide my laptop screen from his sharp eyes. Ravn stood a few feet away from me, his dark hair dripping wet from the rain. His black trench coat leaving pools of water around his boots.
"You say that, but you seem to enjoy chasing me." I reply, trying to keep my tone even. I slowly reach my hands behind my back to find the USB with the cure downloaded on it, pressing it firmly against my palm for safety.
Ravn's eyes flicker to my hands that were behind my back, his eyes taking on a cautious look. "You just can't give up on that cure, can you?"
"Someone has to keep trying."
Ravn chuckles, stepping closer to me. Making my muscles tense. "Give me the USB, sweetheart." He says dryly, extending his palm towards me.
I stare at him, how could he know?
"I'm not stupid." Ravn says, as if reading my thoughts. "I know you found the cure. Please, give it to me."
"Why is it so bad that you could all go back to your normal lives?" I ask, my voice pleading as I slide my way down the counter as Ravn comes closer.
"Because some of us have nothing to return to." Ravn answers calmly. "You would be taking away the one thing people feel they can control since they inherited their powers."
"You don't use your powers for anything good though." I argue.
"That's not true and you know it." Ravn replies. "We aren't all like that. Even if you gave the cure to some of us there would be others who would refuse to take it and would continue to wreak havoc. You take away the good people with powers you're left with the bad and you won't be able to defeat them."
I pause, that thought never having occurred to me since I took over my fathers work. The population of people with special powers had grown. 40% of the worlds population had citizens with some kind of power these past three years.
"The cure." Ravn says again, extending his hand out to me once again.
I stare at his hand, the hand that once held his soulmate mark, just like my wrist once did. Despite all he said, I still held onto the USB tighter and turned and ran from him. I knew how stupid of a move it was, it was pointless when Ravn could strip away human senses. But I still ran, and I almost got to the door when my vision disappeared, immersing me in blackness. Making me fall to my knees, the USB still clutched in my hand.
I feel Ravn's hands encase my waist, picking me up off the tile floor and taking me to the closest counter to let me lean against it. My vision a milky white.
"You know running from me does no good." His voice sounding as if he were a bit hurt by my actions.
"This cure is all I have." I choke out, still clutching the USB in my palm. My hands trembling.
Ravn seems to freeze, his breath fanning across my cheeks that were starting to streak with tears. "This cure is all I've known since my fathers death." I gush, unable to stop the words from tumbling out. My mother having completely shut down since my fathers death. Her attitude cold and isolated from me.
"It's all I have."
Ravn touches my eyes, wiping the tears away but also giving me my vision back. I'm alarmed by how close he stands to me, our eyes locked. His brown eyes hold a sadness to them I had never seen before. A sort of sympathy that had faded from people's eyes long ago when it came to me.
"It's not all you have." He whispers. "It never has been."
I stare up at him, words freezing in my throat. Before I can form a response, his lips press against mine. His hands cupping my face. I suck in a breath in shock, but soon my eyes close and my arms snake around his neck, pulling him closer to me. A sense of completeness washing over me.
Ravn slides his hands down to my ribs, picking my up and setting me on the counter. His body between my legs, his hands going to my thighs as he grips them firmly. I feel my fingers uncurl their grip on the USB, it clatters to the floor. My fingers weaving through Ravn's hair instead. His lips tugging at mine in a sort of desperation, both of us craving each other after being deprived for years.
The cure fades into an obsession that melts into my past, something I had chased thinking it was all I had. When my life had the chance to start over with Ravn and actually do something to help others. He had known something all this time that I never had. We were on the same side, I just wasn't willing to accept it. My senses blinded. And it took him to uncover them.

[Ludus]
Niragi Suguru × Reader
So... here we go!!! I'm so exciteddd!! Because Y/N does get to slap him this time-
Warnings: swearing, mentions of past abuse/trauma. I think that's about it.
Eros, sexual or erotic love. Can be the love you share with a partner. Lust.
Philia, platonic love. The love you share with friends.
Storge, natural love. The love you share with your family.
Philautia, love of self.
Pragma, long standing love. The love of a married couple.
Agápe, unconditional or Devine love.
Ludus, childish or playful love/flirting.
You were the cupid of Ludus. Anytime a young person needed your help in finding a love that was playful, you helped. The person could be young, or just young at heart. Whatever it was, you helped fulfil their love lives.
"(Y/N)! Someone's saying something about love next to candy, it might be a job for you!" You heard Stroge's voice call for you. Your eyes lit up. You hadn't had a job in so long. You rushed over, holding the edges of your pink dress so you didn't trip over the wisps of clouds.
The clouds in front of all of you transformed into a screen. There was a boy with dark raven colored hair, glasses, and dark eyes. Blood covered his hands and face, as well as a few bruises. "Oh my! Why, this is new..." Philia exclaimed. ''This is probably... the w-weirdest thing I've done... but I r-really wish she loved me," you heard him say. "He's sad! I wanna go, please? I haven't had one in 2,000 years, pleaseeee?" You begged, clasping your hands together. They all looked at each other before looking back. "Lady Aphrodite, what do you think?" Eros asked with a smile. The woman in question smiled gracefully, before nodding her head. "Yes! I promise I'll do my best!" You giggled, before touching the scene in the cloud. Warmth spread throughout your body, the heat being pleasant as if you were walking under the sun, and then, you felt cold. The sudden difference made you shiver. Where was this kid anyways?
"W-what the hell!" The boy exclaimed, backing away. His back hit the wall, and you pouted. "Come on now! You summoned me," you said. "Y-youre... you... I did what?" He stuttered. "You said you wished she loved you back and there's candy somewhere, so I got sent down here,'' you chirped, lifting the edges of your white dress, getting close to him. "I died didn't I? They finally killed me?" He said, slapping the side of his face. He began to pinch at his skin, wincing when he pinched at one of the bruises. "Am I dreaming? I've got to be. They knocked me out, I'm dreaming. No way. There's no way this is real," he muttered to himself. Then you grabbed his hands to stop his actions. The way your hands felt, warm and soft, couldn't have been something out of a dream. This was real. "Oh my god oh no... what did grandma always say? Don't mess with the spirits and devines. Don't do it. And what did I do? I messed with the devines, and here I am," he whispered. His eyes were wide, looking you up and down quickly. "I'm not gonna hurt you, you know. I'm here here to help!" You said, placing a hand on his cheek. You used your magic to heal up the bruises, cuts, and other things. He felt a slight warming sensation spread lightly. "There. All fixed up," you said, patting his head.
"So... let's start over. Hiya, my names (Y/N), cupid of Ludus!" You introduced. It was about an hour later, and he had finally come to terms with it. "Niragi Suguru... um, explain what the cupid thing is?" He questioned. You nodded. "There's seven of us in total! Each represents one of the words the Greeks used for love. Ludus is childish or playful love and flirting," you explained. You looked towards his clothes, a school uniform covered in dust, blood and dirt, and back down to your clothes, a long, white, flowy dress with loose sleeves. It was the kind that reminded you of your home in your past life.. You frowned, snapping your fingers. "Much better," you sighed. You had changed into a pink hoodie with a white pleated skirt. A pair of white platform boots with silver buckles completed the outfit. You had also cleaned up his clothes, and he looked shocked yet again. "Oh, and my lucky charm! Niragi, meet Squishy! He's my bun bun!" You giggled, waving around the white stuffed bunny. He cracked a smile, and pet it. "So... how old are you?" He asked, quickly adding, "If you don't mind me asking, of course."
You thought for a moment on how you should answer. "Well... I look around your age. I can make myself look whatever age I want, but technically speaking... I'm as old as Aphrodite. About a 500 years younger then her... so... about 5,000 years old? Does that answer it?" You responded. He nodded. "So... you're immortal? What like lead... to you being created?" He asked. You snuggled into him, being cold. He jumped at the contact. "It's cold... and if you wanna know, I'm gonna stay here," you said, holding onto him even him more. "O-okay..." he stuttered. "All of us cupids were mortals once. All of us died in ways that were... horrific for some, and also trauma. The gods took pitty or interest in us, and decided to save us," you explained, playing with the buttons on his uniform, unbuttoning and buttoning them back up.
"What a-are you doing?" He asked, grabbing your hands. You smiled, "Need to fidget with something." He was confused, but let you be. "Alright. Can you tell me a bit more about the cupids? Or just... yourself?" He questioned.
"Well there's 7 of us. Each of us has a lucky item, a color and food that can be used to summon us, we work with the gods and goddesses of love from every religion... hmmm, what else? Oh, my past is kinda dark. I was a princess! So, with that, my parents wanted me to be perfect. But, I couldn't, so punishments were required if I messed up. The man I was betrothed to was disgusting... Oh, and if you're wondering, my parents killed me. You know how royal families are. Crazy. So, now I'm here. Does that answer your question?" You responded. He blinked while nodding. "That was a lot. I'm sorry you went through that," he said, sympathy evident in his tone. You frowned, your hands playing with his hair. He leaned into your touch, a content sigh leaving his lips. "Yay! I made you happy! Right? Did I?" You questioned, sitting on his lap. He nodded, looking up at you. "You're cute. I'm not sure why you need my help getting a girl," you pouted, fingers weaving into his dark hair. He blushed slightly at your words. Cute? No one called him cute. He never assumed he was cute. Why did you think that?
"I didn't know I summoned you, so... yeah," he answered. "Well, now I'm here until she falls in love with you, with my help of course," you said. He cracked a smile, nodding. "I have to get home, so... let's go," he said, trying to push you off him softly. You shook your head, nuzzling into his chest. 'I thought she was supposed to help her fall in love with me, not make me fall for her!' He was having an internal panic at the moment. You finally got off of him, and floated besides him. "Let's go then."
"So no one else can see or hear you?" He questioned. You two were currently in his room. You nodded, before looking out the window into the street below. "We're so high up! Wow!" You exclaimed. He laughed, "Don't you live in the sky?" You pouted at his laughter. "And? I think it looks pretty outside right now," you said. It was raining outside, the droplets hitting the glass with a satisfying sound. "I prefer rain to sun. I don't get rain or cloudy days up there," you said, floating over to his bed. He was laying back, looking up at the ceiling, so you decided to float right above him. "So, what's this girl's name?" You asked. He blushed. "Asami Anzu," he responded. "Pretty! I bet she's pretty too! Is she pretty? Tell me about her," you rambled, giggling in excitement. He had never had anyone to talk to about anything, and here you were. So, of course he spent the next few hours talking to you about her.
"Aww! I wish someone would talk about me like that!" You said. He was so obviously in love with this girl, and it made your heart melt. He was so pure with his feelings. "Other guys that I've helped usually only want the girl to be childish so they can take care of her. I'm so glad you have genuine affection towards her," you said, sitting on the edge of his bed. He blushed, looking away. "What? Is there something wrong?" You questioned. "U-um, your s-ski- your skirt," he stuttered. You were confused, looking down, seeing it had risen up, and you laughed, smoothing it down. "You're silly. It's just skin," you said, crawling up to him. "Well I- I just... I assumed it was... improper for me to see that," he said. "Oh, you wouldn't survive a day up there... you would constantly be apologizing," you giggled, patting his head. You could feel him relax, and smiled. "You remind me of a dog! You like head pats, and are easily excited," you teased. "A-am not!" He defended, grabbing your hands. You pushed against him, trying to get your hands away. You laughed as he pushed back. It turned into both of you trying to push each other over. The once quiet room was filled with laughter and random bouts of banter.
You finally pushed him over, pining his hands above him. "I win~!" You bragged with a smile. He laughed, letting you celebrate your small victory. You looked down at him. "Is this what Eros talked about?" You questioned out loud to yourself. You weren't completely innocent, and would use minor curse words, or understood certain things, but never really understood it. You knew what it was, it just didn't interest you, or you didn't care about it. "What did she talk about?" He questioned. You stayed the same, looking down at him, keeping his hands in yours. "Well... I think you look pretty where you are," you stated confused. He blushed at your words, finally taking notice of the not - so - innocent position you were in. "You mean like... under you?" He questioned, his wrists squirming to get away from your grip. You let him go, nodding. "That's um... that's nice," he said, looking away. Although you didn't understand his reaction, you blushed at how he phrased it. "See! You're blushing too!" He said. You wanted to tease him? He'd find something to tease you back.
"Suguru, why is there a cupid in your room?"
You turned slowly to the door, noticing an elderly woman standing at the door frame. He stuttered, sitting up. "And moreover, why were you to like... that," she said, gesturing to the two of you.
"He summoned me."
"He did what?!"
"I-i didn't do it on purpose! It was an accident I swear!"
"It was an accident. But I'm stuck here now."
The woman sighed. Then it hit you. "Wait, how can you see me?!" You shouted, floating behind Niragi and grabbing his shoulders. You hid behind him, peeking out slightly. ''I've been around for a while. And I've dealt with cupids before. Say, how's Pragma?" The lady questioned. Your eyes lit up. "You know Pragma?" You questioned. She nodded. "She's doing well," you answered. The lady stayed talking with both of you for a bit longer, before saying she was off.
"Who was that?" You asked. You hadn't asked her who she was, just enjoyed her stories. "My grandmother... I forgot she was going to come over and drop something off while mom was at work, " he answered. You hummed, floating around his room. You heard his bed shift, and the clicking of buttons. "What's that?" You asked, pointing at what he was holding in his hands. "It's a game system. Haven't you... oh. Sky, right," he responded. You sat besides him, watching him expertly click away at the buttons. "You're so good at that!" You complimented after he was done with the level. "Do you want to learn how?"
"Ah! Nonono!" You giggled, seeing as Niragi was passing you. He was still better than you, but you had learned a bit. "Ah, shit!" He cursed, clicking harder at buttons. Another thing you'd noticed about him was when he got mad at the game, he'd curse a lot. Your character passed the finish line, finishing in first. "Yay! I finally beat you!" You cheered, jumping up and down. "I let you win anyways. I didn't want you to be sad," he joked. "Noooo, I beat you fair and square~!" You chirped, sitting back down. "Did I make you happy again?" "Yeah. You did, (Y/N). You did."
Over the course of the next few weeks, you helped him talk to the girl. Your magic was there to get her interested, and let her fall in love on her own. Not to make her fall in love. Of course, Niragi asked about it.
"Ok, listen here! You need to man up and go talk to her! I did my thing, worked my magic, now all you have to do is talk to her!" You repremanded. "Can't you just make her fall in love with your magic, I don't want to embarrass myself," he muttered. You shook your head. "No! If I do, it can become obsessive and I- I can't let that happen again..." you whispered. "Again?''
"Forget I said that! Go talk to her!"
Usually you floated around, watching her to see her interests and watching over Niragi, making sure to heal him after he mysteriously got hurt. He would never tell you how, and it made you mad, seeing it was the same excuse every time. "I tripped down the stairs, I'm fine," he said. "Mhm. I know your eyesight is bad, but not that bad. You can't expect me to believe all your bullshit can you?" You asked, wiping away the blood. His eyes widened, staring in shock. "What?" You questioned. "You just... you cursed. That's the first time I've heard you swear," he said. You smiled sheepishly. It was a learned behavior from him, hearing him swear at his games, or under his breath. "I-is it ok if I do?" You asked, suddenly worried you'd made him mad. He nodded, "Of course it's ok. I mean, I do it, it would be kinda rude of me to say you can't."
One day, while floating around, listening to the girl, you heard her say something about Niragi. "I mean, don't you think it's weird that he's always by himself? If no one ever talks to him, what's wrong with him?" She said. Her friends nodded. "And next, Sheji told me that all he does is stand as a target when they push him around. Who wants a guy that can't even defend himself?" She added. You huffed. How could she sound like an angel while acting like a devil? This wasn't fair to Niragi, she didn't even know him that well. You floated around her, watching to see if anything would happen. Nothing, as expected. Well, until you touched her. You knew her friends couldn't see you, but now she could. "You're kind of a bitch, you know. You're going to be one of the girls that regrets not dating him when he's older. Did you know Niragi is super smart? Like, top of his class smart. You should get to know people before going off what you think because honestly it's a shitty thing to do, and it doesn't make you pretty at all. I can't believe a guy as cute as him likes you," you spat, defending him. It didn't even cross your mind that calling him cute might be wrong, because in your eyes, it wasn't. Her eyes widened as she stared at you. You were floating, your legs crossed in midair as you held on to your bunny stuffie. "Y-youre floating," she stuttered. You smirked as her friends stared at her like she was crazy. No one else could see you. "Yeah, and? Stop acting so dumb," you insulted. Of course, you wanted Niragi to end up with the girl he liked, but she was too rude. "Anzu, what are you talking about?" One of her friends questioned. "Can't you see her? She's floating, right there!" She exclaimed. You got closer, your eyes gleaming with mischief. "Play nice Anzu. I'm always around to protect those I love," you said, smiling, before skipping away. You heard her talking rapidly about you to her friends, but it was no use because they couldn't see you.
"(Y/N), what happened with Anzu-San? Why did you say those things to her? I thought no one else could see you?" He questioned. "Well first, she's a bitch, and was being rude and talking about you. I said those things cause it was only fair. And It's my special item's magic. I told you Bun-Bun was necessary," you explained, holding onto Niragi's sleeve. He sighed, "Well, now you're stuck with me for a while aren't you?" "Yep. Until you find another person you love that will love you back," you stated. He nodded, not really being as hurt as he thought he would be. In fact, he was relieved. You sensed this, and smiled brightly towards him. "Before you ask, yes, this made me happy. Thank you for helping me, and making sure I'm happy (Y/N)."
That was basically how you got stuck on Earth with him for the next 9 years. He had never found anyone he liked, so you stayed.
"Do you have to work late every day?" You whined. He thought you looked like a kicked puppy all sad and mopey that he had to leave. "I'm sorry?" He questioned, grabbing his keys. "Can I go with you then?" You asked. He sighed, "Only if you promise to not get bored and start bothering me." You nodded excitedly, following him out.
His office was rather messy, not like his room. "Why is your office messy and your room isn't?" You questioned. "I spend countless hours in my office, and like...3-5 hours in my room?" He responded, signing into his computers, looking through a folder on his desk. You pouted, sitting in the corner. You did like the small space, however. You could curl up into a tiny ball, so you did, falling asleep rather quickly
"Niragi? Is it okay if I float around your office and stuff?" You asked a while later after you woke up, being a bit bored. "I told you like... forever ago that you can call me by my first name. You're stuck with me for a while," he said. You shook your head. "It's just... then I would... nevermind," you answered. He chuckled, watching you float around, picking up papers. "You don't have to clean my office for me, you know?" He stated. You nodded, still picking things up. "I'm aware. But, it's for me, not you. If your office is clean, then I don't have to deal with mess when I come with you," you said. "Ok, that's an insult," he joked. He stood up from his chair, walking to one of his shelves, pulling another file down. "It's what I like to call organized chaos. My files may not be in alphabetical order, but I do know where each one is. For example, the left shelf on that wall, second row, 3 files down is the file for a client's idea. The one next to it has to do with the business side of things of that same client," he said, pointing to the shelves while reading through another one. You floated over, going exactly where he said. He was right. "Wowww! You're so smart!" You giggled, putting the folders back exactly as they were. "I'm well aware sweetheart," he sighed.
He walked back to his desk, watching as you floated towards him. Your face was right in front of his, smiling. He really loved that. You'd been with him for the past nine years, of course he'd grown attached to you. There was never anyone he found as attractive as you, but he'd never said anything. One time, he had asked, and you told him that cupids weren't allowed to fall in love, or else they'd die a devine death. So, as selfish as it might have been, he told himself he'd never fall in love, and that he'd keep you with him. You never seemed to mind, seeing as you hadn't had a job in years before him. A small part of you had also grown attached to him. You didn't want to admit it either, but the feelings you got around him were different than the feelings you felt around the other cupids.
You two were broken from your staring contest by the sounds of fireworks outside the window. He was confused, going over to the window, raising the blind. "It's nighttime already? Niragi, is there a celebration today I didn't remember?" You asked holding onto his arm. "No... not that I know of. It was probably some idio-" he started, before the lights turned off. You shrieked, letting go of him, seeing as it was completely dark. Not even the lights from the city of Tokyo shined in through the window.
"Niragi? Where are you? I can't see a damn thing! Niragi?" You called out, your hands groping for something in the dark. "Niragi? Hey, this isn't funny! Niragi! Suguru, please answer I don't like the dark!" You cried, desperate to find him, even if it meant using his first name. Gods how you hated the dark. It reminded you of your past. Having to be locked up in the darkest part of the dungeons, no light as random noises echoed through the halls. The rats and bugs crawling on you. You hated it so much. "Suguru! W-where are you!" You called out once more. You heard the door open, and a light flash through.
"Hey, sorry, I left to go find a flashlight. I didn't see anyone in the building though. Whole city is blacked out though," he said. You rushed over to him, hugging him tightly. "D-dont leave me alone in the dark again! You stupid jerk!" You whimpered against him, your hand gripping onto his shirt tightly. He cursed himself, remembering you didn't like the dark. A fitting fear, considering what you were. "I'm sorry, it slipped my mind. Let's go see if we can find anyone, or any clues as to what's happening."
That turned into finding the beach. Of course, after multiple games, you were more than happy he was finally somewhere safe. After so much, you were happy he was ok.
You lay in his bed, waiting for him to come back. "I wonder... no one's ever... none of the cupids have tried falling in love... so... how do we know we can't do that?" You questioned out loud, holding the sleeves of his shirt. You liked wearing it, seeing as it had a pretty pattern. Most of the times you'd switch the color though. Instead, you'd always make the intersecting lines pink while the rest stayed black, or vice versa. That, or you'd make it black and red. It was fun.
"I'm back, and alive surprisingly," you heard a vouch snap you out of your thoughts. You sat up, tripping out of bed to say hello. "I'm so glad you're ok! I was worried you know," you said, checking him over for any wounds he might have recieved. There was none. "Diamonds game?" You questioned. He nodded, laying back on his bed. You crawled besides him, slapping the side of his face. "Ow! What the hell was that for!?" He yelled, looking at you like you just murdered his family. You smiled sweetly, "That was for what you said to that girl yesterday. We respect women you asshat." He rubbed his face, a red mark appearing where you hit him. He looked down, nodding. "That was a solid slap though," he whispered. "I'm not hugging you till you apologize to that girl," you said. He nodded, walking off. He didn't know why he listened to you. Frankly, he could do whatever he wanted to, but somehow the thought of you not holding him again mad him sick.
When he came back after a while, you smiled. "Good job!" You praised. He lay next to you, as you curled up besides him. "Hey... (Y/N)... have you ever wanted to date one of the people you've been helping?" He asked, looking away. You blushed, looking away. "Maybe... why?" You answered. "Because... isn't it dumb that the gods can date and fuck around with humans, but you can't?" He said. You thought for a second before nodding. "Then do you want to be the first to test out your mortality?" He questioned, turning to you. Your eyes widened with fear. This was something that you thought about, of course, but never had the guts to do. "B-but what if it's true? Then I die forever!" You exclaimed, hiding under the blankets.
"(Y/N), who in the heavens told you that?" A voice asked. You recognized that voice. It was the voice of Venus. You quickly took the blanket off your head, kneeling down to her on the bed. Niragi stared between the two of you, not sure what to do. You smiled at Venus quickly, before pushing him down besides you. "L-lady Venus. It's an honor to see you again," you said. "Silly girl. You don't have to bow to me. Now, back to what I was saying. Who told you ladies that?" She asked again, fixing her hair. "Z-zues did my lady," you answered. She tutted, "That Zues. Always messing with my cupids. It is allowed, but you have two options. Either you become a mortal being with him, or he become an immortal being with you. Your choice," she said, giving you a smile. You glanced over at Niragi. He still had these games to complete. You could have him forever. And you'd never have to worry about him finding someone and you having to leave. He leaned into you, whispering in your ear, "Do what makes you happy. Not me. You've always helped me, pick yourself for once."
It was so uncharacteristically sweet of him to say something like that. In the borderlands, at least. "Wanna have him forever and ever and ever!" You giggled childishly, throwing your arms around his neck. Venus laughed, "Oh my sweet child. I'll do so after you leave this place. My magic isn't working here, it was a struggle to see you. So live. Live for as long as you can," were her final words before leaving, rose petals left behind. You laughed, holding his face in your hands, your forehead resting on his.
"Did I make you happy?"
"You always do (Y/N), you always do."
Ok, that took a while. Especially when I wanted to get the Last Boss chapter done before Niragi's, but I finished this one first, so this one is getting published first. I was writing both at the same time, and this one just got done faster
And I forgot to this last night, I'm so sorry!

A Slice Through The Heart
Genre: Suggestive Au, Friends to Lovers
Members: Seungmin and Beomgyu
Warnings: suggestive
Word Count: 1.5k
(Part 0ne)
You were looking at your two bestfriends who were watching t.v through the open shelf that was a distance between the two rooms. They came to your apartment as soon as you called them to tell them that you would be free this weekend after several weeks of working during this time. They were quick to prepare their stuffs to spend these two nights with you since it's been so long you three had a sleepover. While the pizza slices were heating up in the oven, you kept looking at them with glistening eyes and wondered how you got to have these two boys as your bestfriends and you thought, "If they weren't my friends, I would date any of the two or even both haha........ wait can I...?!?"
The interrogations you had with your own self was cut off by the sound of the oven signalling that it you could take the food out and join them again. You don't know what happened to you that night but you felt a shift and maybe it was for the best. They didn't have girlfriends and loved you a lot so maybe they have thought of it. However you couldn't just ask them like that, so instead a plan that involved one slice of pizza was the just the right idea. .. ... .. hopefully.
You went past Seungmin and and sat between the two. "Did I miss a lot", you asked.
Seungmin, "Not really."
Beomgyu, "Yeah nothing important."
While eating your pizza, you realised you had a last one left and that is when you decided to go for it. Your drink was next to Seungmin's side over the table that was beside it and with a brisk movement you pointed towards your drink and asked him to hand it to you. You knew your hand was holding your last slice and you hoped that moving it quickly enough with the smallest tilt would be sufficient for whatever toppings on the pizza to fall. on . his. lap. And it worked!!
He didn't notice since he moved his head to look at your drink to grab it but it didn't matter cause that was only the first step. "Oops, sorry Seung" and you took the hand that was still holding the pizza, turned to the surface with the toppings that was facing down and lowered your hands onto his lap to 'remove what you accidentally dropped on him'. His firm grip on your drink, loosened while it was still on the wooden surface and he turned to look at you with surprised eyes, though ..... you didn't know if it was become of the mess you made, your hand covering his lap or perhaps both but you did what you planned for the 3rd step on your plan. "Oml, what was I thinking", you lifted your hand and placed the slice onto the low table that was infront and swiftly went down close to his legs before he could do anything to change the course of the situation.
Seungmin: "Oh nono, it's alright, I did bring extra clothes for a reason, hahaha" he uttered with some confusion planted into his words and obvious in his eyes.
You: "Oh well, wait before let me just remove the toppings that fell on you, I mean, if you get up it's going to fall on the floor so yeah let me just do that"
And you did just that while both him and Beomgyu who was already fixated on your actions, looked at you and then turned to look at each other with questioning eyes. But you couldn't blame them and you have to admit though your bold moves, your nervosity was burning you inside, well that and the fact that Seungmin's bulge was visibly throbbing through his black pants which made you even more hot inside.
You: "Seungmin" he blinked before snapping out of his thoughts as he was still processing everything that have just occurred, "Are you, like you know, hard" you teased him and the blush on his cheeks seemed contagious as Beomgyu felt the same feeling since he was still looking at the both of you.
"Do not tell me you have a kink for pizza or maybe food in general haha", you continued while joking to calm him down since you realised he was at a loss for words.
Seungmin: "Oh ummm no..... why would u say that?" he murmured as if his embarrassment restrained his voice. And it was so cute but right now you wanted more than that.
You: "Well you know, I could help you, just like you both came here to help me, well maybe not help, but still came to stay with me when I called, so you know I could..."
Beomgyu: "You could what?" he asked since Seungmin was still trying to find words to say.
You looked at Seungmin while raising your hand to caress his chin, "Give you a blowjob". You can't deny, you were internally screaming, cause since when were you craving your bestfriends' attention in a not so friendly way. However both Seungmin and Beomgyu had a crush on you. They even talked about it together and also decided to choose the friendship you three had over the risk of breaking it. They thought long and hard about it, talked for several days and even getting to discuss about how amazing you are, how beautiful you look and how your features drives them crazy which also lead them to jerk off to a picture of you.
So now after everything they both settled and you now asking this kind of question, they didn't know how to react, mostly Seungmin who you were talking to. On hearing these words Beomgyu was brought back to the conversations he had with Seungmin about you who was now so turned on and ready to facefuck you if you it weren't for Beomgyu.
"Well at least let me clean the sauce that got on your pants", you said while moving your face closer to his bulge and specifically started to lick the sauce that got there first. "Oh did it feel great, feeling his cock pulsations with your tongue and how he got harder from your motions."
He was looking at you, loving it so much. You felt just how he imagined it and he was still clothed. He didn't know if he had to stop you or let you finish what you started but just right then "What are you both doing?" Beomgyu said with his voice raised. You stopped your movements as you elevated your head to look at Beomgyu.
You: "Beomgyu why are you screaming?"
Beomgyu: "Screaming, how am I screaming, maybe I just can't hear myself with the sound of you sucking dick", he shouted even louder. Though you weren't sucking anything yet his point was clear at least for him as you were still quite uncertain but it took only a few seconds for him to just reveal his heart to you.
Beomgyu: "I love you, I fucking love you and I've always dreamt of asking you to be mine and spend the rest of this life with you but ..... but ..... Seungmin told me that he felt the same way towards you and ........ and we decided to choose our friendship over it", he said as the volume of his voice diminished and eventually became soft and emotional.
Upon hearing this story your heart kind of reprimanded you for what you just did but it didn't last long since you you could separate your emotions to your thoughts and rapidly came to the conclusion that, they loved you too. And maybe if you didn't have this slice of pizza to help you, you would have never known about this secret they kept from you. You felt an urge of strong emotion flooding you as you realised that you were meant to be, all of you three and it took this circumstance for you to confess and you to recognise the feelings you had for your bestfriends.
Beomgyu was staring at the ceiling trying to prevent his tears from falling why Seungmin kept looking at both you and him trying to say something to not ruin anything but you spoke faster and then replied, "Well yeah that's funny and I don't mean anything wrong. Instead I meant that it's funny how this all turned out." They were focusing on your face, as your features calmed their nerves and you continued, "I love you guys. I love both of you, a lot, and yes before anyone asks, more than just friends and idk how or why tonight I just felt like I had to.... try and act upon it without even knowing you both also felt the same way."
They both might have went to a painful place mentally when all of this suddenly happened but when they heard these words you've just said, they felt like their hearts bloomed after all this time concealing their love for you. It felt like how they realised they both loved you and even more, since tonight, you reciprocated this feeling.

Obey Me! - You Owe Me A Dance (Mammon/Reader)
You sat on your bed, tiredly rubbing your eyes. Your alarm had gone off at what seemed like the least opportune time because you were having that dream again.
“...Yo. Um, like...you know… Uh, I mean, like...uh…”
You were closer to the end of the dream this time. Well, you were closer to what you hoped was the end of the dream.
“L-like, you’ve gotta have weird tastes to ask a human like you to dance. I’m guessin’ no one here’s gonna do that, huh? Ahahahaha!”
It seemed like it was so long ago now, and you kept trying to tell yourself that it didn’t matter that much, but...you were still bitter about that night at Lord Diavolo’s inter-realm retreat. Mammon was being his usual self, trying to play it cool despite asking you to dance, but Lucifer decided to steal you away to intimidate you.
“...So y’know, as long as you don’t have a partner, I guess I could maybe go ahead and pair up with you for a li’l bit.”
At the time, you weren’t terribly disappointed, though you would have preferred dancing with Mammon to getting your hand crushed by Lucifer. But months after the fact, after spending so much time with Mammon and learning about him, you were upset that since then...you’ve never gotten another chance to dance with him.
Especially since you’ve been having this dream almost every night for the last week.
That evening at Lord Diavolo’s castle was hauntingly magical. It was the first time you had ever seen everyone in their demon forms at the same time. You had already seen Levi and Lucifer before, after that disastrous TSL trivia contest. But it was the first time you had seen Mammon like that up close.
Your heart started to race as you recalled his exposed chest and the black leather he wore. His dark skin contrasted with the white markings on his body. His toned muscles shifting as he fidgeted in front of you…
You quickly and furiously shook your head, trying to derail this current train of thought. You blamed it on being tired, and decided to get ready for class. You remembered that Mammon had a test today that you had been helping him study for, and while you weren’t taking it, you were still nervous for him. His track record thus far wasn’t great. He tended to be lazy or indisposed by a trio of witches, so that left several obstacles in getting him to retain the information he needed to pass his classes.
This last time the two of you had been buckled down particularly hard, finding creative ways to keep Mammon motivated and begging his brothers to find a way to occupy his blackmailing witches. If he passed this test, it would ensure that he did at least pass this one class. Small victories, right?
As you got dressed, your mind wandered one last time to Mammon standing in front of you, dressed in his demon form. You allowed yourself one more small smile before finishing preparing for the day.
***
You waited nervously outside the door of Mammon’s classroom, standing next to your nervous guardian. Usually the tests were graded later, but Lucifer put in a request for Mammon’s to be graded immediately.
Mammon looked back at you, the anxiety clear on his face. He had told you that he was tired of failing for once, and hoped that at least this class would be wrapped up in a nice bow. He fidgeted, crossing his arms, uncrossing them, and playing with the two rings on his right hand.
“It’ll be okay,” you said, placing a hand on Mammon’s arm. “We studied like crazy, and you passed the practice test Satan made for us.”
“You know, I gotta thank you…” Mammon murmured, looking back at you. He seemed a little surprised by your touch at first, but kind of leaned into it after a moment.
Mammon was interrupted by the door to the classroom opening, Lucifer poking his head out.
“Mammon,” he said calmly, motioning for him to come in.
Your fidgety guardian gave you a worried look before following Lucifer back into the classroom.
Mammon’s nerves had suddenly passed on to you, and you anxiously began crossing your arms, hoping for the best.
The anxious silence was suddenly broken by a loud, raucous cheering from inside the classroom. You whirled around, hearing Mammon shout happily and then race out of the room. He had a wildly excited look on his face and clutched his test in his hand.
“Ninety percent, baby!” Mammon howled.
“Ninety percent!” You found yourself yelling as well.
“Oh, you beautiful, big-brained human!” He practically slammed into you as he picked you up in a hug and whirled you around. It took a moment for him to realize the scene he was making as other demons began to stop in the hallway and stare. Mammon quickly set you down as his face went from brown to dark red and he took several steps back.
“U-uh...I mean,” he began stammering.
You looked back at him, smiling and gently laughing. He might have been embarrassed, but you were wildly proud of him.
“Meet me at my room later!” Mammon said loudly, but then making a choked grunt. “I mean--maybe I’ll be there! Whatever, just...wait for me there! Near my room!”
Mammon raced off, his face incredibly flushed. He excitedly jumped one more time before he vanished around the corner.
You laughed again, placing your hands on your hips. It was never dull with him around.
Your thoughts drifted back to your dream.
“I guess I could maybe go ahead and pair up with you for a li’l bit.”
You could feel your cheeks flush slightly.
"Thank you for helping him," Lucifer said, suddenly behind you. His deep voice made you jump, but you turned to face him.
"You're welcome," you replied, your voice shaking slightly from the surprise.
"With your help, the student council will retain some respectability yet."
You could only respond with a smile before bidding Lucifer good afternoon and walking off. The image of Mammon asking you to dance was still fresh in your mind.
***
You weren't outside of Mammon's room for long before he came bounding up, his test still in his hand. You guessed he had probably been announcing to everyone else his remarkable test grade before finally ending up in his room.
"Good! You're here!" He said cheerfully. His joy was almost palpable with how big his smile was. "Come inside!"
You followed him inside his room, and as soon as the door was shut, he picked you up in a big hug again.
You didn't mind the hug at all, but you were certainly surprised by his display of affection.
"I was serious earlier, you know," he said, setting you back down on the ground. "This was thanks to you." Mammon waved the test in his hand. "It's one less thing for Lucifer to hassle me about, and I haven't heard from those witches all week. I feel like I could take anyone down now!"
You laughed at Mammon's eager attitude, but shook your head.
"Don't get ahead of yourself," you said. "We've still got the rest of the year ahead of us."
"Ah, don't be such a buzzkill!" Mammon said, leaning toward you and putting his hands on his hips. You gave him an unimpressed look, and he sighed. "Yeah, yeah...you're right. But still."
"But still...that doesn't mean we can't celebrate," you added, smiling. You didn't want him to get his hopes up too high, but you were definitely proud of him.
Mammon's eyes widened again and his huge grin returned to his face. He took a deep breath and his cheeks flushed.
"You know, that's kinda why I asked you to come here. I don't like owin' debts, and I want to thank you for helping me with my latest...victory."
"You could just get me a cake or dinner or something," you said, laughing and shaking your head. You didn't mind helping Mammon and you didn't feel like he owed you anything.
“No way! A win this big has GOTTA be celebrated in a BIG way!” Mammon shook his head incredulously and leaned in close to you. “Just think about it for a while! We’ll plan it for the weekend! You and me, on the town!”
You started laughing again, nodding.
“Okay, okay, I’ll think about it!” You relented, Mammon giving the toothiest grin you’ve probably ever seen before in response.
The dream is still fresh in your mind. You bite the inside of your lip, wondering if you should say anything about it. Mammon noticed your suddenly-pensive expression and realization flashes over his face.
“You do have something in mind! Well, c’mon, you can tell the Great Mammon! The sky’s the limit--and it’ll even be on me! How’s that for celebrating?” Mammon stood up straight and crossed his arms. His expression was cocky, like he’d actually discerned your thoughts.
And he wasn’t wrong, you did have something on your mind, but it wasn’t about any future celebration. Maybe…? Maybe this could be your chance to finish the dream.
You stayed silent for a moment longer while Mammon started to fidget uncomfortably.
“...Dancing,” you finally responded, your cheeks flushing. “I want to go dancing.”
“Dancing? For real?” Mammon said, tilting his head to the side before smiling devilishly. “Well, I never really pegged ya for the kind to go clubbin’ or whatever, but I like it! But how about this--” Mammon said with a laugh. “We’ll go to the human realm! I’ve hit all the clubs down here in the Devildom plenty, so I’m feelin’ a different venue.”
“The human realm?” You ask curiously. Last you had heard, everyone besides Lucifer, Barbatos, and Lord Diavolo had to get permission to use the portal to the human realm because of Mammon.
“Don’t you worry about the details. Leave it to THE Mammon!” Mammon laughed raucously. “I’ll get us there and back safely, I promise!”
You shrugged and nodded. If worse came to worse, you’d just spend the weekend in the Devildom, maybe go to a Devildom club with Mammon. There were a few days between now and the weekend, so there was time to change plans if things didn’t work out. At least he wasn’t trying to steal anything from Lord Diavolo’s castle.

The rest of the week passed pretty quietly, and you heard nothing from Mammon about plans being changed. You also continued to have the same dream about Mammon, asking you to dance. It ached to get so close every time, but it also made you start admitting some things about how you felt about him.
Of course he was good-looking, and charming when he decided to be. You saw plenty of that in your dreams every night. But...there was more.
You would find yourself just daydreaming about him during class, or when you had any downtime. You missed his company more and more when he disappeared, and relished when he was close to you. His loud, excited voice and attitude were comforting now. The way he would eagerly grab your hand, pulling you someplace.
Your blush returned often while you daydreamed, and in the depths of them, you found you were incredibly excited to take a trip with him into the human realm, to a human club. At the very least, chances were much lower that someone would try to eat you. And you would have Mammon, your faithful guardian with you. You’d return back to the Devildom in relatively good shape.
Finally, the day was here. You weren’t sure how Mammon was able to persuade Lucifer or Lord Diavolo to let him travel to the human realm with you. You weren’t sure the way you’d be traveling to the human realm was legitimate at all. That would be a problem when Lucifer found out, but...you’d been through worse things than that at this point.
Mammon told you to wait outside of the House of Lamentation and to “wear something good.” You weren’t sure what he meant by that, but he said it so fast before running off that you couldn’t even see if he realized what he had said. You proceeded to be kind of embarrassed by it, but moved on and decided to just wear something nice. In your heart, you hoped that you would find your chance to finally dance with Mammon.
You hadn’t told anyone about the dream. You weren’t sure if the others would just end up teasing you or asking if your head was on straight. The thought of even telling Mammon made your ears burn like crazy.
Before you could get too lost in your thoughts, Mammon raced out of the House and grabbed your hand.
“Hey! Glad you’re here! Let’s go!” Mammon said frantically, with a strange object in his hand. “No time to really explain, so c’mon!”
You had no choice but to follow Mammon, his strength much higher than yours, and ran alongside him to one of the portals further into the Devildom.
“Okay, here we go!” Mammon said excitedly, holding up the object to the portal. It opened, and Mammon pulled you close, jumping through.
There was a flash, and suddenly you found yourself standing on a beach, still close to Mammon. You looked up at him, not entirely sure where you were. He was simply smiling, looking ahead. The sun was starting to set, and you felt your breath catch in your throat as you looked in the same direction as he did.
You clutched Mammon’s jacket and let your mouth hang slightly agape as you watched the sunlight color the evening sky for the first time in a while. You had gotten so used to the perpetual dark, twilight sky of the Devildom, that watching the sun set over the ocean was like seeing a miracle.
You could hear Mammon chuckle as he rubbed your back.
“Nice, huh? I had a feeling you might have been missing this kinda view.”
You looked back at him, noticing the faint blush on his cheeks. He had a big, toothy grin and he adjusted his yellow sunglasses.
“Where are we, Mammon?” You ask, slightly pulling yourself away from him after realizing how tightly you were gripping his jacket. Your cheeks burned slightly.
“Welcome, or as the locals say, bem vindo, to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,” Mammon said, stepping back and grandly gesturing with his arms.
Mammon brought you to Brazil? You didn’t have any expectations, but Brazil was not among them. You let out a disbelieving laugh.
“I know, I know, it’s probably kind of weird, but I wanted to take you someplace special," he continued, placing his hands on his hips. “Also, we can get lost in here pretty easily in case Lucifer realizes what I did…”
That strange object. It must have allowed Mammon to use the portal, but you had a pretty strong feeling that Mammon was not allowed to have it.
“Okay, come on, no more questions, let’s go!” Mammon said, laughing loudly and grabbing your hand again. “I know just the place to eat, and then we’ll hit the club!”
You couldn’t help but laugh again. You weren’t sure you had ever seen Mammon this truly self-assured before. Sure, he always had an act going on, but here in the human world with just the two of you? It was real.
You followed him more confidently this time, letting him lead you to a cab, where you both got in. You made a very loud mental note of the way Mammon had his arm wrapped around you as you both sat in the cab. What surprised you next was the fluid way Mammon spoke Portuguese to the driver.
As you thought about it, it made sense that he would be able to speak Portuguese, or any language, for that matter. He was a demon, and it’s not like he would be bound by any kind of human language limitations. It was probably like second nature to him, but you found it impressive all the same.
Before you could admire Mammon for much longer, the cab sped off and drove like wild. It weaved in and out of traffic, turning hard and accelerating faster than you ever thought an average car would. However, as your body tried swaying with the inertia of the car, Mammon kept you locked in place next to him. Your stomach did a few somersaults every time you leaned into Mammon as the car turned. The longer you spent next to him, the more you began to notice how he smelled like ginger.
The cab stopped perhaps too soon for your liking, and Mammon helped you out of the car.
Dinner passed like a whirlwind, and while the food was delicious, you couldn’t tear your attention away from Mammon. It was like he was a completely different person away from the Devildom. There was merit to him being the Avatar of Greed. You don’t get in the pockets of the rich and powerful without the kind of poise and confidence he currently had. You marvelled at how much his brothers had the ability to color his whole personality while he was around them.
Before you knew it, Mammon had taken you from dinner and to a club deeper downtown. He got both of you in easily, and led you to a crowded dance floor. You instinctively clung to his jacket again and he wrapped his arm around you, much to your secret delight.
“Stay close,” he said in your ear. The smell of ginger was stronger on his breath, almost intoxicating. You quickly began to realize why demons were so good at seducing and tempting people. Thankfully, that was not Mammon’s plan tonight. Well, intentionally, anyway. Butterflies raged in your stomach as you were pressed up against him.
You got close to the middle of the floor when Mammon turned you slightly against his body so you were now facing him. It was overwhelming being around so many people so suddenly, but looking up at Mammon’s familiar white hair and dark skin eased your anxiety. However, now you became acutely aware of the swaying from all the other people dancing around you.
The music playing was loud and rhythmic, but in the heat of the moment, you weren’t quite sure how to move.
Mammon slid his hand a little lower down your back and took your hand in his other. You felt him slightly nudge your arm, which was kind of lamely clutching his jacket. You took that cue to slide your hand around to his back like his was on yours.
“Follow me,” he said in your ear once again.
Like magnets, your bodies were pressed together and then Mammon began to sway and move his feet to the rhythm. It took you a moment to get used to the fluidity of his movements, but it was easy to follow and fall into step with him.
You had been so focused on copying Mammon’s movements that you hadn’t quite processed just how close you were to him now. His body was firm and warm against yours. The way he moved sent sparks through your body. You almost didn’t recognize this demon in front of you, the way he appeared so confident and strong.
Was this the ending of your dream? Would this have been the way you felt had Lucifer not interrupted?
You smiled at Mammon, noticing that he looked down at you with those remarkable blue-to-yellow eyes of his. Even through his glasses, they were breathtaking--almost like the sunset over the ocean you had witnessed with him.
No. This wouldn’t have been the outcome that night at Lord Diavolo’s. What was happening now was something very special and intimate between the two of you. He wouldn’t be this way if he was around his brothers--but just with you, no space between? This was a product of all the time you had spent with him, watching him, learning about him. And it seemed like he had done the same for you. It felt so natural to have him hold you so closely, like he had known you for far longer than a few months.
Mammon’s cheeks turned more pink the longer you looked into each others’ eyes. He gave a smile before suddenly resting the side of his head against yours, the music changing to something slower. The swaying slowed with the music, but it felt like Mammon held you that much closer. He squeezed your hand and slid his hand further up your back. As your chests were pressed up against each others’, you could feel Mammon’s heart racing. Yours was going at a similar speed.
The warmth from his skin was energizing and relaxing all at the same time. You could hear him hum along with the music every so often, his baritone voice vibrating in his chest. You danced like this for a while, savoring his smell and proximity well past your legs' limit. You guessed that Mammon could probably still go for a while longer, but you were no demon.
You rubbed his back, wanting to get his attention. He gently lifted his head away from yours and looked back at you. You motioned away from the dance floor with your head, hoping Mammon would understand what you meant. He nodded, and carefully led you off the floor, holding you close.
“Can we get some air?” You finally asked once you got far enough away from the music and chatter.
“Yeah, that sounds pretty good right now,” Mammon replied. His arm was wrapped around your back and he led you up some stairs in the club until he found a less crowded area that led out to a balcony. There weren’t many people around up in the upper levels, and you quickly settled on an empty corner of the balcony to rest. As you both settled into the spot, watching the lights of the city, Mammon began to pull away from you.
Instinctively, you grabbed his arm and looked back at him with a pleading stare.
Mammon’s cheeks flushed as he looked back at your own flushed face and after a moment of contemplation, he began to return his arm to your side, but continued to move until he was behind you. He wrapped both of his arms around your torso and settled his chin in the crook of your neck.
“Is this okay?” He whispered, his voice shaking slightly in your ear.
Electricity crackled in your veins as Mammon held you close against his chest. You placed your hands on his and gently stroked his thumb.
“It is,” you replied quietly.
You both fell into silence again. You closed your eyes and focused on Mammon’s breathing as his chest rose and fell against your back.
“Mammon...do you remember that night at Lord Diavolo’s? When you tried asking me to dance?” You asked, your heart starting to pound harder in your chest.
“Yeah.” His voice was husky.
“I’ve...I’ve been dreaming about that night a lot lately.” You figured you had nothing to lose by telling him now, with how close he was to you.
“Is that why you told me you wanted to go dancing?” Mammon buried his nose in your hair after he spoke.
“I guess so.”
“Huh…” he said breathily. “That’s interesting.”
Mammon released his arms from around you and turned you around to face him again. He looked back at you, cheeks flushed, with an intense gaze.
“Because I’ve been having the same dream. It always ends before I can just grab your hand.”
Staring into his eyes again, you felt your breath catch in your throat. There’s no way he was having the same dream as you, you tried telling yourself. But his eyes were so sincere. He had no one to impress here, and you realized that you had always loved him no matter what.
“I know when we go back to the Devildom, I’m going to have to share you with my brothers again, whether I like it or not. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to be greedy now and keep you out with me for as long as possible,” Mammon said in a low voice. “There’s no Lucifer here to take you from me again.”
He slowly caressed your cheek with his hand, resting it on the side of your face. He inched his lips closer to yours. The electricity in your veins turned into a constant, warm flood as you also closed the distance to his lips.
“Please only be mine,” he whispered before pressing his lips to yours. You were surprised as he quickly introduced his tongue, brushing past your lips and exploring further. You returned the favor, which seemed to startle him at first, but afterwards energized his kiss.
You both pulled away after a long moment, slightly out of breath and holding each other close.
“Can I...take that as a yes?” Mammon said with a laugh and smile.
You nodded and smiled in return.
“Good,” he murmured, returning to your lips and kissing you gently. “Because I'm going to need more of this.”

[AO3] [WATTPAD]
WARNING: Continued transphobia.
So I did try to put this up sooner, due to cilffhanger feelings, but didn't quite manage it. Hopefully you all forgive me!
------------
Rise couldn't believe the level of disaster her life had reached. And all because she couldn't keep her mouth shut. Because by the time she had finished crying, scraping herself together and sending the shambles that had once been a lovesick fool back into the school, she knew exactly where the leak had occurred. Plugging that would have to be the first step. And then…
Then what would she do? Beg Ai to take her back? She took out the note, stared at it, and almost threw it in the nearest receptacle. But that wouldn't do. No… she had to hang onto hope that there was still time.
"I got this," she whispered to herself as she used the note to wipe her eyes, smearing her makeup. "I'll do my best." Fine but empty sentiment. She had to take things one step at a time.
And step one was…
~ o ~
"CHIE!"
The bowl-cut-hair had barely stopped whirling around Chie's head from turning to face Rise when she was hit in the face, full force, with a bookbag. The blow knocked her from her chair in the Junes food court and she went sprawling to the ground.
"WHOA!" Yosuke burst out in sheer alarm. "Hey, wait a minute there, Rise-chan! Where's the fire?!"
"You wanna know who's fired? SHE'S fired, that's who!"
Still struggling to sit up, Chie looked a little silly with a bag-print reddening half of her face. "Wha… whahidme?"
"Rise, what is the meaning of this?" Yukiko gasped in exasperation as she crouched over her girlfriend, trying to help her up. "Are you upset about something?"
It took real, concentrated effort not to snap at Yukiko, as well — especially given the Captain Obvious question she had just asked. But she knew she was only trying to be kind, to look after all of her friends equally. So she bit back the scathing retort and focused on the situation at hand instead.
"I'm upset about a lot of things, every day. But this time it's because somebody doesn't understand what a secret is!"
"Me?!" Chie intuited. "Are you- hey, I'm no snitch! Wait, what secret are we… talking…"
The food court went silent. Which was partly because it was too early for dinner, so they were the only ones there, not talking to each other. Rise idly noticed it seemed like Teddie and Kanji were absent, but she was on a mission; she didn't have time to worry about their whereabouts.
Finally… "Oh."
"So you got it? Huh? You figured out how you just screwed everything up?!"
"Now just wait a whole second, okay?" Chie said in a slightly nervous tone as she began to struggle to her feet. "I didn't say- I mean, like, I just figured it came out! Right? Because it's a secret, and this is a small town, and like, c'mon!"
"Who did you tell?"
"I didn't tell anyb-"
"NO! No, don't give me any of that crap, because we both know you had to have told someone — you already told at least one other person! I didn't tell anybody else! So who was it?"
"It… it doesn't matter!" Chie was trying to hedge with a hopeful smile. "Really, like I said, it was gonna come out sometime! Do you really think Ebihara could hide that forever? Like, he's kinda snowing the whole school…"
"Shut up!" Rise snapped, as Yukiko covered her mouth with her hand in alarm at the sharp tone. "That wasn't your choice, okay? And like I said, if I didn't tell, and Ai-chan for fucking sure didn't tell, then there's only one person it could be! Because I-"
"Oh dear," Yukiko whispered.
"Hey! I didn't commit any crime!" Chie shot back, starting to get heated herself now as she clenched her fists. "Tell that to the drag queen you've been hanging around with — he's the one that's gonna catch hell if they figure out he's been using girls' bathrooms and stuff! He should at least tell us if he wants to-"
"It's my fault."
Rise was still shouting when she turned to Yukiko. "What?! I mean…" She cleared her throat, tried to take the volume down a notch. "What?"
"Chie told me. When we were… well, when we were alone, because we're best friends. As you know, because we have already discussed things… so I was the beginning of the problem. I'm sorry."
"Yuka…" Chie sighed, grimacing. Clearly, at some point she had realised what had happened, and shifted her tactic to protecting her significant other. Rise would have respected it… if they weren't both going to be on her list now. At least that cleared up the true reason Yukiko had gasped; it was a sound of recognition.
"Really? You?" Rise said, completely betrayed. And disappointed; that much must have been readily apparent, because the innkeeper hung her head in shame.
"Yes. And Chie was so conversational about it, I… didn't realise… you seem very upset about all the rumours that have started going around now. Did we… have we done something wrong?"
Rise let out an exasperated noise. "Are you kidding? Of COURSE you did!" In the back of her mind, she knew she was basically just coming down on them to sidestep the blame Ai had thrown her way, but she couldn't stop; they had to pay for ruining everything. Someone had to, and she couldn't face herself. Not at the moment. "Do you have any idea what life would be like for her if they figured out for sure?!"
"Dude, who cares?" Chie tried to tell her reasonably. "Remember when we found out about Naoto? We're all cool! So what if she's a chick instead of a dude, or Ai's a dude instead of a chick?"
"U-um, I prefer you leave me out of this discussion," Naoto said in a quiet undertone. "If that's alright."
Throwing up her hands in surrender, Rise began to pace back and forth as she said, "This is unbelievable. I really didn't think confiding in one friend… well, I guess I should ask who you told, Yukiko."
Rise was too observant to miss the glance between her and none other than Yosuke. The boy gulped when she turned her glare on him, holding up both hands in front of his chest.
"N-now, let's be reasonable here. Just a second while I explain-"
"UGH! Did everybody here play a part in this?!" No answers. Rise groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Okay, well… I guess I'm going to be eating a whole big plate of crow later. If she even talks to me."
"Don't be so dramatic," Chie sighed as she rolled her eyes, hands on her hips now. "You're friends, you'll bounce back before you know it!"
But the idol was already shaking her head before she even finished. "You didn't see how mad she was. I'm… I'll see you later."
"But you just got here," Yukiko protested in a pleading voice, taking a step toward her. "I'm sorry we didn't understand the situation, but do you really have to go?"
"Yes. Got a lot of thinking to do."
As Rise headed toward the elevator, she passed Kanji coming from it. He smiled and waved and asked, "What's up?"
"Ask our Judas friends."
"Huh?!" He got no answer to his question. As the doors slid shut, she thought she could just barely hear him say, "Man, chicks sure are crazy," but it was too late for her to attack him since she was already heading downstairs. Oh well; there was always next time for him to pay for his crime against her gender.
~ o ~
That was on her mind a lot as she lay in bed that night, staring up at her ceiling. Gender. Sexuality. The differences between men and women. How those lines could be blurred right in front of her eyes and she had no idea. And when she wasn't thinking about that, she was thinking about…
Why didn't she realize she shouldn't have told Chie? Theoretically, she should have been able to confide in her and everything be fine — and she also knew none of her friends really intended to hurt anyone. They were just careless. But now she could see with sobering clarity that carelessness still had consequences. Would Ai really have to transfer again, just because the secret got out?
Something that made her blood run cold whenever she thought of it: that comment about guys beating her up. Just because she used the women's bathroom? When she thought of it as a man sneaking in there, she supposed that made sense. Most guys would do that to protect any women from being harmed. But she had gone to the bathroom alongside Ai plenty of times — enough to know that she never did anything in there except her business, and preen in front of the mirror. At least she had found a way to prove to those nosy girls that she was all woman.
Even if it was a lie, technically speaking. Which confused Rise so much she just wound up stuffing her head underneath her pillow.
All her texts went unanswered, of course. She had expected that. Somehow, she still couldn't help herself and sent a grand total of seven before she manually turned off her phone to reduce the temptation.
The worst part of all? Now she couldn't talk to any of her friends about it, either. That was what got her into this fix in the first place! So all she could do was panic, wallow, and panic again.
~ o ~
If Rise had thought the previous day was unpleasant, Tuesday definitely counted as a catastrophe.
"Oh my God," she overheard a girl muttering as she walked in through the front gates. "Can you believe she would ever look like that?"
Unfortunately, she only had a few minutes of blissful peace to have no idea what they were talking about. The minute she reached into her locker to get her indoor shoes, she felt the glossy paper on top of them. Withdrawing it, she felt her heart sink when she saw her own face.
A goofy face indeed. There was nothing particularly wrong with the picture; she had been trying on dresses in Croco Fur and was sticking her tongue out with her finger up her nose, obviously making the stupid face for the camera. Nothing incriminating, just vaguely embarrassing. However…
Everyone seemed to have a copy. No matter which way she looked, every single student of Yasogami seemed to have a glossy paper in their hands. Rise felt her face begin to heat up. She had done nothing wrong, and the picture wasn't that bad, but seeing the entire student body laughing at her brought on the reaction regardless.
"Wow, this is hilarious," some guy was saying as she headed to class. "Thought Risette was so cool but she's actually dumb. Look at this! Her finger's in her nose, gross!"
"I think it's cute," his friend said. "She's having fun."
But another guy in glasses standing nearby just sighed and rolled his eyes. "You plebs. Obviously this is just another publicity stunt orchestrated by her management. She probably distributed them herself."
The idol stormed into the room before she had to hear any more. Did they really think she had nothing better to do than print off a bunch of pictures of herself and throw them all over the place?!
"Uh, hey."
She looked up, ready to ream the speaker, when she saw a chagrined looking Kanji standing there, scratching the back of his head. "May I help you? Or am I too crazy?"
His weak chuckle spoke volumes. "Heard that, huh? Sorry… I just didn't know what to say when you snapped at me. Guys filled me in after you left."
"What? You mean the way you all stabbed me in the back by gossiping about my girlf- my new friend?" Damn. She would have to be more careful about that.
"Hey, I didn't do that shit," the tall, dangerous looking boy grunted with his arms folded over his barrel chest. Sometimes Rise forgot just how intimidating Kanji was to most people, because they knew him better than that now. He was a big teddy bear under that yakuza-esque exterior. "Yosuke was the real problem, I guess. He was talking about it to Naoto, and wasn't paying attention to who was around them. Bunch of people overheard. And Naoto didn't say shit to anybody, so don't blame her!"
Rise sighed. Unsurprising that he was so defensive of her, since his crush ran so deep. "Fine. So it's Chie and Yukiko's fault a little bit, and as usual, Yosuke's fault a lot. At least they're the same old idiots they've always been."
Kanji nodded with another grunt. "So… what's with the photo?"
"Ughhhhhhhh."
~ o ~
The way Ai was standing at the edge of the school roof, gazing over Inaba, almost made it look like she was lying in wait for Rise when she got there. Probably because she was — and had been since the start of lunch. The popstar shoved the glossy page in front of her face.
"Well? What exactly is this supposed to mean?"
"Mean? Why, I don't know. Isn't that your picture? Aren't you supposed to be the one who knows?"
"You took this. I literally remember you taking it, with your phone, not mine. So why would you go to all this trouble to print up a dumb picture?"
Ai's smirk was practically demonic as she looked sideways at her without fully turning. The worst part was that she still was as beautiful as ever, even when being an asshole. "A beginning. By the time I'm through with you, you will be begging me to stop, and I won't. I won't stop until you feel the way I did yesterday."
"Right. So this is a really pathetic beginning to a revenge plot?"
"Hah! Good try. Have you forgotten how much abuse I've weathered over my entire lifetime? You're going to have to do better than that to undercut me."
"Ai, you don't have to do this," she pleaded in a quieter voice. "This is nowhere near what I wanted, I still don't want it. I made a mistake, and I'm sorry, but attacking me like this isn't going to-"
She fell silent when Ebihara actually yawned. Her anger flared, and her eyes narrowed to slits as her fists curled tight. "That's your pitch? 'Whoops, I outed you and almost ruined your life, hugs'? Lame."
"Fine," Rise hissed. "I guess this didn't mean anything to you at all. Throw it all away because you're butthurt. Whatever."
"That's why I'm doing it, you idiot." Now her aloof tone had dropped to absolute zero. "Because it did — it meant everything in a way you will never understand. And now I feel stupid for trusting you, because you broke it. Don't go acting all high and mighty and trying to play the sympathy card."
Rise's eyes were watering as she tried to come up with something to say. The bratty side of her personality wanted to swear her own revenge, that she would make things even worse for Ai… but she knew she wouldn't be able to live with that. Besides, it was the wrong move, regardless of what her friend…
Regardless of what her ex-friend had done. It was really over. And figuring that out took all the wind out of her sails.
"Okay. Bye."
"That's it?" Ai chuckled harshly as the idol turned away, walking toward the stairwell. "Wow, you're usually so much chattier. You had better thicken up that skin, Kujikawa, or the next few days are going to be pretty unbearable!"
They really would. Just not for the reason Ai thought. Mourning the end of something beautiful tended to put a damper on one's week.
To Be Continued…
