When I was formed I already knew everyone's names, despite just being made (though that may also be because I got my memories from another headmate)

Is it possible to know other alters’ by name and yet be fresh out of the oven, so to speak? I think I’m new, yet I know the names of the other alters here with me.

This is something my friend said to me the night I was formed. I had no clue who I was or any information about myself. I was in a panic and she said this to me to try and help calm me down. I still think about what she said

So this post is to any new headmates/alters out there who feel bad about not knowing themselves yet. It's going to be okay, I promise. You don't have to know everything right off the bat. Take your time and allow yourself to just exist

I'm not exactly sure what kind of headmate I am...? Because I do have a source, but I'm not an actual character in the source if that makes sense?

Like for example, Leo is a fictive from 2012 TMNT. I split off of him so I still feel very connected to the same source and my identity is pretty much centered around it. I present myself as species from the source and etc. But I'm not any existing character from it

So I'm just not sure if I count as a fictive or not since I'm not really based on a character, but rather the world they live in
