February 14th. Every year, that day had the same strange feeling to it, and Pump could never put a finger as to why.

The town had been painted red for such a day. Every shop with a window or a showcase was bloodily-stained in the form of paper and glittery heart shapes stuck to the glass, and the culprit was always some flying, fat baby with a bow and arrow in his hands. Entrances and storefronts alike would be given a spark of shiny crimson with the help of (Christmas? He believed those were Christmas) lights. And the local flower shop, especially, would change from colorful and green to red and pink all around, turning its part of the street into a crime scene straight out a spooky movie.

But, get this, it was NOT Spooky Month! People were not going out in spooky costumes, neither were going to see spooky movies at the local theater. During that season they always had icky, sappy titles like "Together At Last" or "Just the Two of Us" instead, which always caused him to stick his tongue out and rolls his eyes with slight contempt.

As he was by himself that day, such a walk around town had left him with the same exact questions he had every year... (And he knew who could clear up his doubts!)

Which was exactly why his little journey had taken him to the doors of the Candy Club that afternoon. The building looked almost the same as always, pink and blue, and very welcoming... that is, except for the very unwelcomed presence of red hearts and those dumb, fat, flying babies all over the windows.

In his mind, if the candy shop had not been spared either, then nothing was sacred that day. As if things could not get any more dire already!

The silence was broken when the automatic doors let him into the store, his dressing shoes click-clacking aaaaaaall the way to the glass counter in the back. The place seemed to be missing a lot of candy and chocolates as well, but that concern was not at the top of his list (yet).

Just as he was hoping... ❝ Hiiiiiiiii, Kevin! ❞ ...he was at work that day!

The headmistress waited until the knock on the door was heard. She dismissed Nightmare from her desk and handed her the rest of the paperwork before motioning for her guest to come in.

   ❝ Come in. I was expecting you. We have some things to discuss... ❞

( Trick or treat ! ) Even though she doesn't celebrate the holiday , she is curious what sort of new wares he's obtained for this occasion .

Spaul goes zipping into a hidden corner of the dump, some of the pixels that make up his body hanging there in front of Eileen for a moment like the dust cloud of a character in a cartoon. Within ten seconds, he’s back and brandishing a tray of an assortment of chocolates, all wrapped in Halloween colors! The brand name’s been worn off, and the tray itself is dirty, but the candy inside is pristine. Who in the world would’ve thrown away something worth so much Kromer?

By this point his cheek blush is positively pink as he tugs at his bowtie, an item he tends to ignore most days. Far beyond the pun, this was a gift he had been saving for Eileen for whenever the next chocolate-giving holiday came up. He sincerely hoped she enjoyed it.

The villagers of the area couldn't help but stare at the newcomer around these parts. Definitely whispers and muttering of her about her appearance. Some of them began to whisper in worry of what this mysterious stranger was capable of doing! Especially with...

       ❝ Make Haste! She approaches!! ❞

After the warning, the villagers began to run and shouts in getting back into their homes as fast as they could, locking their doors and shutting their windows. A moment of silence as there was no one left...

... and then the sound of a horse's whinny breaks the silence.

The flash of lightning is seen and revealed at the dark corner of the path closest to the village revealed a figure riding a horse coming towards the town in fast pace.

The horse gallops before stopping a few feet from the newcomer, snorting flames from its nostrils before settling down. The rider on top revealed to be... headless!! The body descended from the side of the horse... in high heels.

It was a rare thing for Donna to be outside and not at her family's manor. Being mildly agoraphobic, she wasn't exactly a fan of leaving but she knows there are still things she needed like food and other supplies. She was in a new place, this was not the Romania she knew from back home, no she was a visitor to a strange place.

Dressed in all black she knew there were those who were looking at her, but she prayed no one would try to make conversation with her.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

In my current main verse, Scott is cheerleading a lot for his significant other, and I always love these little moments. Whether it's giving Katja the necessary self-confidence in training or with her still developing powers or breaking her constant guilt spirals about things out of her control, he never once complains that she's a bit high maintenance at times which is something I personally appreciate a lot myself. And in return, Scott's found something in her that he's never had with previous partners, this time being in a relationship with a non-psychic. They stumble a lot over talking too little in the beginning until he especially learns how to properly communicate his feelings, understanding there's no longer someone just reading his mind. So I always smile and/or tear up a little when with time they finally have proper conversations about feelings and issues. So proud of you guy, you can actually talk! That helps Scott a lot grow emotionally as well. And beyond managing such issues, he's found someone who has his back in every decision regarding the team and the school, sharing his plans and missions and calling in every respect, and that's also an important rock to lean on for him. Whether it's stopping by Scott's school principal office - once Charles is no longer around - between her patient appointments to bring Scott coffee or take some administration off his hands or frying a couple of enemies with lightning in the field so Scott can get to the main baddy, they're just a great team who have each other's back.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

I'm a huge sucker for "breaking character for your significant other", I guess. Stoic self-righteous leader falling apart at the seams when his beloved is on the brink of death after being attacked by the leader's arch enemies? Sign me up. Quiet Ms Self-Doubt 2003 going absolutely feral on an enemy when her lover is tortured? Check it off.

🎃 Do you write fics for certain holidays? Which is your favorite holiday inspired fic?

I've written some Christmas and New Year's fics in my time, and I enjoyed last year Halloween fics a lot. So those are all fun.

Yeah, fun, Alex thinks with a sigh. He shakes his head to clear the thought. He’s lucky to get this time with their daughter and he should do what he can to enjoy it. He plasters a smile to his face as he bends down to see what Bex is playing. 

He accepts the proffered blocks. They stack them into a tower together and watch as it falls down. He feels a pang in his chest at her gleeful laughter but lets his smile brighten in spite of it. 

Alex scoots down to the floor to help her gather the blocks back up and stack together again.

There was a hesitant knock on the door to Headmistress Bloodgood's office, the sound caused by an equally hesitant werecat. The door opened with a creak, revealing Catty Noir behind it, causing the pop star to startle, her hand still raised in the air.

"Miss Bloodgood? I mean, Headmistress Bloodgood? I, er, we…" Catty coughed and cleared her throat. "Gigi and I would like to talk to you, if that's possible. It's about our privacy, and the recent… events… that have affected it."

Both of the ghouls had to sneak to get to Bloodgood's office the best way they could and Gigi had to use a bit more magic than she had intended to make a get away when they passed by the creepeteria. Ghoulia, Frankie and Cleo did their best to distract them with the princess making up a holiday to say the school owed their queen some presents... but it only distracted most of the school.

When a few students followed and made their way to the office, they would soon be stopped by a stream of fire to push them back out the moment Catty and Gigi entered.

Nightmare neighed a warning before shutting the door and standing guard with a stomp.

The headless headmistress' body was standing by her head while on the phone with someone but motioned the couple to sit down.

      ❝ Yes, I know... I have them in the office as we speak... There's much we need to talk about so if you can, please make your way to the school as soon as possible. ❞

After that, Nora hung up the phone before addressing the two ghouls, picking her head up as her body sat down.

      ❝ I was just about to call for you, but it was best you ghouls were able to make it here without the announcement. I'm sure you know that nearly everyone in the school is aware of your relationship with Gigi, Catty. And while I wish I can congratulate you two, I'm afraid we are not under better circumstances. That was your manager on the phone and they're making their way to the school as we speak to talk about your... continuing education here at Monster High. ❞

Spaul had given him a treat. Derecho had taken it and left, but ended up returning a while later to provide an offering of his own. Clearly, he had liked the Choco Diamonds, since remnants of a few were still on his face. As a show of gratitude, he had brought one of the surface candies that he had "won": a large peanut butter cup, slightly nibbled and big enough to fit in both of Spaul's hands. "TREAT FOR YOU!"

*0H, YOUR BACK, DERECHO!!! COME TO [[receive attachment?]] YOUR [[Dark Candy]]???

Secretly, Spaul was worried he had failed to appease the Seeker with the Choco Diamonds. But as Derecho bent down to give the puppet a treat of his own, he noticed a few beige and black crumbs from the dessert on his face. So he did like them! Spaul’s demeanor became much more relaxed once he realized this, and he put out his hands to receive the peanut butter cup.

As far as he was aware, there was no candy similar to this in the Dark World. But…it still looked familiar.

*TH1S IS…[[world’s largest peanut butter cup (not clickbait)]]!!! [[Slightly used]] BUT…U SUR3 I CAN HAVE THIS???

It was one thing to be idolized by a robotic being from another world, but it was another thing entirely to receive a gift from them. Having confirmed this was now indeed his, Spaul took a giant chomp of the cup from the other end to see how it tasted. Not bad at all! And with how large it was, it would give him a constant source of food for a while.

*[[Candy]] R3CEIVED!!! [[Thank you~]]!!! PLEASE 4CCEPT MORE TREATS [[as a token of my appreciation,]]!!!!

With that, peanut butter cup still in his hands, he went zooming into his shop to grab Dark Candy for Derecho. Whether the Seeker wanted it or not. He deserved to be properly thanked for the candy with…more candy!

Whisp hovered in the air in Carrie's room as she usually did the moment her psychotic 'christian' egg donor left the house or was very occupied. By now living with her finder was a bit... tense, though interesting. She's seen what Carrie's life was like and the lantern couldn't have been more right to say her finder needed her.

Also the djinn didn't mind 'bending' the rules a bit when it came to Carrie's biggest 'fans' to retaliate. This girl was going to need all the help she could get.

Though what peaked her interest was the mention of Halloween and remembered reading in the library in the lantern. Section 1300, sub section 31.

Aside from that, I also play football and am heavily involved in theater. Think of all that what you will.”
