So if I may ask but which do you think is worse in your opinion being stuck in a job you absolutely despise but getting paid enough that you can survive or having a job you love that barely pays you enough for basic necessities ?

So being in the latter category as a Midwife in the UK (love the job but the pay isn't great), I have to say I find myself getting more and more mathematically vicious with it, the older I get.

My private time is golden, to me. Having the money to do what I want in my private time is very important. I have worked 60 hours weeks for a long time, before stepping down as I have done recently, to earn the money to do what I want in my free time. That kills your soul, and ends up leaving you resenting your job a little.

Having never done a job (aside from as a 16-18 year old) that I've hated, I find it difficult to know how badly that would affect my life as a whole.

Overall, my answer is: neither is tolerable. Fuck society for making us think it's one or the other. Hard jobs that we love should pay a good wage. Shit jobs that we hate should adjust their work environment to make the job less shit.

No dice. The answer is: WORK IS SHIT. SOCIETY IS SHIT. OVERTHROW THE OVERSEERS. REVOLT. REVOLUTION.

I stand by this, but I've been drinking the red 🍷 again on a very, very empty stomach, and I feel very passionately about this.
