honestly, (and this is very sad to me, I feel like a poser) I don’t remember it very well, but one of the first posts of Amaury on here that became genuinely popular was reblogged by @ official-lucifers-child with the caption “*yells* ITS THE FUCKING CHOCOLATE GUY AGAIN” (or something along those lines, again my memory sucks) which popularized the phrase!

katsuki is fresh from the shower and still wrapped in a towel when you come in, and at the sound of your voice, his interest in fiddling with his hair quickly fades.

he doesn't turn around to stare at you fully—at least, not at first; his eyes meet yours in the mirror and widen, almost imperceptibly, before tracking down the expanse of your reflection. you told him about the costume you'd ordered, but his response had been simple, acknowledgement more than anything, and now—

the slow simmering flush on his cheeks is more obvious when he finally faces you—and it's a bit too high on his cheekbones to be from any hot water.

katsuki clears his throat before he speaks, swallowing once. "the hell're you wearin'?"

you shrug, and though you can tell from his body language that he doesn't dislike it—a shyness pools in your belly, suddenly too seen under his warm gaze. you fiddle with the cheap material, tugging lightly at how it sits on your hips.

"my halloween costume!" you try to remain upbeat regardless, smiling widely at him as you pose appropriately, to show off the full effect. "what do you think?"

his mouth screws up in a way that could come across as disgust to the wrong person, but you know him better than that; this is him trying to keep control of his face when he doesn't know what to do with it. instead of answering right away, he crosses the bedroom until he's standing in front of you, poking at your headband and the blocky, plastic jewelry that came in the package.

at his side, his palm runs across the towel on his waist. like he's sweating.

"'s'cute." katsuki finally mumbles, dropping his eyes to the neckline of your costume when you grin. you feel him tugging lightly, too, on the material at your hips, before settling on your waist.

you'd kiss him if it wouldn't ruin your makeup.

"i'm so glad you think so," you tell him, genuinely, leaning forward to lightly boop his nose with yours—and when he only hums in response, softened, you hit him with the truth. "because i bought you one to match!"

“More like a roommate coexisting in the same space.” He says, his hands offered to you, still, like communion. Like his body the bread and the blood that stills in his veins, the wine.

Is it conversion he wants? Does he expect you to drop to your knees and kiss his detached scalp like some royal back of hand? like some godly foot? like some dirty altar stained in crimson and gore and wreckage from the demon that has invaded it?

Bur Getou—can you even call him that anymore?—only smiles, teeth too white, mouth too wide—if you look too far into it, you’re scared it might devour you—cocks his scalp-less head at you. his brain tips. his brain smiles at you with teeth it should not have. his eyes run with tears and yet he smiles. smiles so big at you that you take a step back, in horror, fear, at the agonizing realization that things have been wrong for a long, long time now.

“Welcome me home, now would you, my love?” He says, drops the scalp as if it means nothing. it rolls to your feet, the silkiness of his hair tickling your toes. all you can do is scream, before he’s embraces you.

Oh, that's both an easy and a very difficult question because I don't know how to answer it without including major spoilers but it's these 2!

I can't say they've given me the same level of brainrot as VegasPete but I find them and their story really interesting and even though the show left quite a few things out because of its short runtime I still can't stop thinking about them months after it ended.

To make it short and as spoiler free as possible - I love that we got 2 deeply flawed main characters who desperately wanted to do better and be better but couldn't for a variety of reasons or what they did was too little too late. I was watching the show with a friend who said that as the story progressed they couldn't really find reasons to root for them and I agree - the more we learned about them the less likeable they became but that's what made them even more fascinating to me. While I enjoyed seeing how the events in the alternative timelines played out, I liked the real one the most (ep. 6 is my favorite). Their story is a tragedy but it's also about second chances and I'm here for that.

Now, about them individually - in Great's case, I liked how his mental health struggles were portrayed, I think they handled that aspect of his character quite well. But also, as many people have pointed out, that man never had a normal reaction to anything that happened to him and I was just sitting here watching like 🤔😨 Guy's just sitting in the passenger seat of his life without caring about the direction he's going in and it was quite the emotional roller coaster.

Tyme is the type of character teenage me was a big fan of - I used to love emotionally distant and awkward characters (and obviously I still have a soft spot for them). He gets bonus points for secretly being the sappiest of them all. I really like how Jes portrayed him, I came here with 0 expectations and ended up becoming a fan.

Sorry if this is too vague and all over the place but if I don't stop now I'll end up writing a whole essay, I just like them and the show a lot 🤧

🧙 🪄 Trick or treat!

you catch satoru by surprise, once the front door flings open.

it's late—later than he said it would be—and his uniform is creased and worn and a little dusty, not as black as it was before he left this morning. on the surface, he appears unharmed, but there's a careful way in which he moves his limbs, like something is aching deep within him.

the blindfold is still covering his eyes, but it shifts with the raise of his eyebrows, and then relaxes when you smile at him brightly. the sight of you—sitting on the living room floor, a bucket of candy near your knee, movie paused on the screen—releases him in some small way.

"well, well, well," his voice is rougher than it usually is, raspy like too early mornings or late nights after an argument, but the edges of his lips curl up just enough. "what have we got here?"

you make a point to throw out your arms, careful of the kitty headband tucked into your hair. you rattle the plastic pumpkin filled with all the sweets that he loves, in an attempt to lessen the weight he's wearing.

"happy halloween!" you sing, and when he steps a little further into the house, you pat the spot beside you enthusiastically. "i've got tricks and i've got treats, so pick which one you want first!"

satoru lets out a small, quiet laugh, nothing like how it usually is, and he tugs the blindfold off with hands like lead. there are dark bags under his eyes and—now that you're thinking about it—you're not sure how much sleep he's had in the last week; too many times, you've rolled over in the night to get more comfortable, only to find him staring at the ceiling.

there is a litany of secrets still surrounding him, and you know this is one of them.

"c'mon," you encourage, though he's already shuffling out of his shoes and peeling off his shirt. you open your arms for him, and it doesn't take another word before he's practically crawling into your lap, the giant that he is. "trick or treat first?"

satoru gives a side-long glance to the film brought up on the screen; something dark and red and (hopefully) spooky. they're not his favorite movies, you know, but he's yet to say anything about it and you think it might be because the cuddling in between is a little too worth it.

he leans forward to rest his forehead on your shoulder with a quiet sigh, before raising back up with a small smile. "do you really have to ask?"

when you cup his face in your hands, it's a little cold and sharper than usual—but you press a kiss to both cheeks, and then both eyelids, and then a final one to his lips, as soft as can be.

the darkness on his face doesn't lighten like you'd hoped it would and he doesn't say anything—both so very not-satoru of him—but the gleam in his eyes shines a bit more heavenly, ethereal in a way, and you think maybe the treat is all yours.
