Sundrop & Moondrop caregiver headcanons

Sun takes care of kindergarten/elementary age kids, staying in the main daycare/play area

Moon takes care of the babies and toddlers, usually staying in the nursery/nap area.

This is mainly because Sun is higher energy, while Moon is lower energy. Sun loves to play with the kids, running around, getting messy, doing arts and crafts, etc. While Moon prefers to do more relaxing activities, like singing/reading to the babies, he likes to be clean and organized. But They both love kids of all ages!

They will still do activities together sometimes though. They love to put on performances for all ages!

Moon helps Sun put the kids down for naptime, he also stays and watches them. During this time Sun might entertain the babies/toddlers, if they aren't sleeping as well.

Sun has a hard time even lightly scolding the kids and often has to call on Moon to talk to/lecture them, he oversees the timeout corner. But Moon is not harsh! just serious and firm.

If a baby is being fussy during a diaper change, Moon will call Sun over to playfully distract them while he changes them.

Moon doesn't mind fussy little babies, he's actually very patient and understands they cant help it <3

Moon petnames: moonpie, moonbeam, twinkle(s), firefly, gum drop, baby cakes, puddin(g), sweetie pie, sugarplum, bitsy/bitty, baby, sweet pea, pumpkin, sleepyhead, starlight

Sun petnames: sunshine, sunbeam, sunspot, sunflower, (little) flower, petal, sprout, buttercup, goober, brite eyes, giggles, munchkin, silly, rainbow, kiddo, pal, bud/buddy, star brite

Usually they are called Mr Sun and Mr Moon, like teachers, but don't mind being called other names! (i think Sun is dada coded and Moon is papa coded)

After hours, Sun spends time coming up with and planning games and activities for the next day. While Moon usually cleans up the place.

Some kids find Moon scary, which hurts his feelings a bit, but the babies know how sweet he is <3

Sun doesn't teach the kids in the traditional way, he prefers exploring creativity/arts, but loves circle time and listening to the kids answer questions he asks/share things

Moons style is to "let you feel your feelings", he will comfort you with affection and quiet time. Suns style is more trying to cheer you up and/or distract you, can be with affection. They are both very reassuring.

Moon is good with the babies because he can keep his cool, he's calm and consistent. Sun is good with the kids though because he is very expressive and can match their energy.

Oooof I had a hard time with this one….. I was stuck between pride and greed. I mean if you push Daniel’s character to the veerrryyy extreme he’d be a success hungry guy who craves recognition and validation 😅 And Daniel’s main flaw would be his short temper LOL

Doesn’t like being seen as less than > goes out of his way to be the best > gets mad when he doesn’t reach his own expectations/what he thinks other people’s expectations are + insecurity of his own abilities = anger issues…… does that make sense 🤔😰 hopefully HAHAHA

What makes Daniel laugh? Sebastian 😙 NAAAHHHH but fr pretty much just anything that makes the average teenage boy laugh….. like skibidi toilet (ironically) 😸 Sarcasm, irony, anything that’s funny bc of how unfunny it is, I think that describes Daniel’s humor in a few words

Well first he’s not the type of guy to really laugh out loud or cackle, when something is funny it’s usually more like one of those short little exhale laughs yk ??? But I mean if he’s really going to LOL he would be sorta airy, breathy, starts with a wheeze kinda laugh that just goes silent and then broken by a sudden gasp for breath YK??? Likeee I suck so bad at explaining but those out of breath laughs is what I’m imagining

Ominis is both of their friends but it’s a little complicated 😅 ofc Ominis would be conflicted cuz of the dark arts stuff yk still he doesn’t hate either of them. Daniel and Ominis had a very rocky start, in the end they respect each other on their own choices and views. Ominis separates Daniel from Sebastian’s actions, so he isn’t angry at him for whatever happened with the relic and Solomon etc. (even if he lowkey enabled Sebastian 😰)

I like to think that Omini would take on the role of the “responsible one” in the group when they’re together, while Sebastian is the one coming up with the crazy ideas and Daniel is like “ok!!!”. He’s still closer to Sebastian than to Daniel just bc of how long they’ve known each other but yah they’re all good friends and hang out yay !!! 😙

Scout is so fucking embarrassed when pootis calls them papa and mama the first time (cause he got a big fat crush on reader) but they reassure it's okay and that they dont mind

LIL POOTIS!RED!SCOUT X READER WHO BECOMES A PARENT TO LIL POOTIS

-Scout was your buddy. He had always been, ever since you enlisted, you made friends with one of the other young persons at Mann Co. Putting up with someone who was oblivious to most things and had no awareness at all was hard, even harder when you started to think that he was a cute guy, despite being the most annoying person spat out from Massachusetts. Noticing his habits, like putting his hand behind his neck and scratching his neck or noticing that his nose was small and his lips were pouty and things he did for you. 

-He always wanted to seem like a cool guy to everyone, but really? He is a dork. But a cute dork. Even before he got a crush on you, he wanted to help you out. He notices when you got it rough on the field, coming to your room to talk to you or even take you up the road to that one diner. He likes to go to the comic book store or go the park with you and eat snacks and talk until the sun sets. Now why is Scout able to do this still even with his newfound crush on you and without breaking down?

-Well, unlike canon Scout, he is much more calm with his crushes, not by much. He gets very nervous to talk to you every time he has to see you and starts stuttering and doing awkward body movements, however he relaxes.  He knows he doesn’t have to impress you, though he still tries, but you like him the way he is. As a friend, at least that’s what he thinks. 

-It kind of shocked you when he adopted a Pootis pet from the store. As I have said before, he has this “Cool Guy” persona he likes to play.  But he really cares about this little booger, though he was careless at first. As we move ahead, he does change his parenting style to care for Pootis. Though, Scout still had his moments. Pootis and Scout were never really apart when they didn’t have to be.

-Scout always liked having you over. Pootis did too, though for a different reason. Since you were never not around, and as Pootis grew older, he saw your relationship as the ones he had seen on TV or from his Grandma and the Spy. While, you two didn’t kiss or hold each other, which puzzled Pootis, but Scout would jump his eyes away from yours then back again when you made eye contact or scratch his neck again. You would face your full body towards him, mentioning details brought up in past conversation, playing with your hands way too much. You were obviously in love with him. And you, too, did not think Scout liked you back.

-You would play with Pootis, shake his feathers, draw with him. Pootis drew Scout and you holding hands while Pootis was drawn as an orange blob between you. The words Mom and Dad scrawled respectively. Scout would get embarrassed when he sees what’s on the paper you’re holding. Scout has told Pootis that you are not his “Dad”. But Pootis only gets confused. You care for both him and Mama, so how aren’t you? 

-You told Scout you didn’t mind being called “Papa”, even if you happened to identify as a woman or gender less, and Pootis immediately lights up. He immediately opens his arms and squeaks at you. You pick up the little fart and hug him. A sigh of relief escapes the boy. 

-No matter the weather, Scout always took Pootis out to play. You could catch them at the park, in the snow or making mud pies after the rain. Scout tells you there is no obligation to join them, but Pootis makes his lil sad face that makes you feel bad for not wanting too. You would do anything for this bird. Especially as his “Papa”. You played into it too much.

-Scout keeps photographs of the team next to his bed. He has many of you and him together, him and Sniper, him and a drunk Demoman, There is one be managed to get a photograph of a photograph of, that being you holding Pootis while he took the picture next to you, so the copy on the wall is blurry, but the original is kept on him at all times.

-You know how Lil Pootis has a habit of screaming. And do you know of the Psychological term, “Secure Attachment”?  Well, it’s when a child, in an experiment involving the strange situation procedure, is in a room with their parent and a stranger and the parent leaves, leaving the child distressed until the parent comes back and they immediately calm down. It’s like that except that you are babysitting him for Scout and you go to the bathroom, he will do that until you come back. 

-One day, Scout came back from a mission and he heard Pootis squealing from the kitchen and ran to his room. Pootis calmed down when he saw Scout and you came back after washing up. Scout looked at you confused. Then Pootis spilled out a “Mwah!” sound and opened his arms. He wanted a hug from both of you. Scout got rosy. 

-After coming home from the store to have a movie night with Pootis, Scout saw you and Pootis watching an old noir film on the channel before you two would watch Scout’s Dirty Harry cassette. You were mindlessly reading your comic Scout bought you the last time you two went on the beam bag. As he pulled out candies and some seed for Pootis, a squeak came from the little, squishy, orange bird to pointed at the black and white couple kissing passionately. You were confused. Yes, you cute little bird, they’re kissing. Then he paddles up to draw something. It’s a drawing of Scout and you, Mom and Dad respectively, sharing a kiss with a heart between you.

-Scout gets super embarrassed and gently scolds Pootis about how that was inappropriate to ask. But you told him it was fine and that Pootis was simply confused. Pootis imprinted on you, but you weren’t together like normal parents. But, really, Scout wants that. Not for himself, but for Pootis as well.

-The denial in the air that was between you both could be cut with a knife. 

-Feverish skin was hit by sun rays from where you were under the tree. Little shade reached you from the angle of the setting sun in front of you. Little Pootis fell asleep next to Scout with his cap on his head. You could actually see his light-colored hair better. He smelled like a teenage boy, but it was scent that you have grown to associate with him rather than your traumatizing middle school years. You looked over at him, he had his eyes on the water filter, which was currently incapacitated and the yellow and black indicator was set to red. His eyes met yours and he gave a gap toothed smile. You leaned up and scooted closer to him, you could see his dimples. Your hand moved up to his face, slowly, waiting to see if he was ok with you touching him. His light brows furrowed, confused. You had to go for it, even if you regretted it and ruined this friendship. You kissed him. And thank the Lord, he kissed you back.

Ok, I’m going to use this as an excuse to explain why I might have Shandzii’s art style:

Waaaay back a few years ago when I fist got into the Daycare Attendant community, I came across Shandzii’s Ask Sun & Moon videos on YouTube and I absolutely fell in love with them. I have seen many versions of the Daycare Attendant in other people’s styles but the way Shandzii drew Sun and Moon really appealed to me.

Her art style and design of the Daycare Attendant was actually what got me to become apart of the fnaf sb community. Shandzii’s style inspired me greatly, and I was determined to learn to draw the boys in a similar style. I have a talent of mimicking other people’s art styles and incorporating it into my own (I’ve mimicked Mystery Ben’s style for his Mystery Skulls Animated characters before) until it just sorta becomes my style for how I draw those characters.

With patience and LOTS of practice, I have been able to replicate Shandzii’s art style of the Daycare Attendant to a large degree, of course with my own style mixed in as well. I am very happy that people have recognized Shandzii’s style within my own, and I hope I can continue to draw Sun and Moon in this way.

Shandzii herself has moved on to other interests and is no longer drawing and focusing on the Daycare Attendant. However, I strive to carry on the memory of when she was apart of the DCA community and continue parts of her style in my own. I guess you could say I have taken it upon myself to carry on her journey of drawing the Daycare Attendant but really, I just want to draw and have fun.

I hope Shandzii is alright with me mimicking parts of her art style for Sun and Moon, and I hope I can bring you all a bit of happiness with my silly drawings.

Anyways, I’m just rambling…

Thank you Shandzii for attributing your wonderful style and talent to the Daycare Attendant so that others like myself can grow and become inspired to be better artists and apart of wonderful communities. Farmer OC Rena 🌻

First artwork for 2025 🫶 Last year, I went on a simpler art style to most of my artworks. Less realistic, less rendering, a bit more cartoony. I kinda missed my usual style so I went back to it. But then I realized last minute that I had to spend a huge amount of time on rendering 😭 Soooo here we are!

Just a bit about Rena (since I haven’t created a full description about her yet lol):

- She likes to sing and spend some time in the beach.

- Pearls, clams, sunflowers, and green teas are some of her love gifts.

- Like both of her parents, she has a close relationship with the merpeople. You can often see her hanging around with some of them in the beach/Ginger Island during the rain.
