When I’m trying to create new characters, I often find questionnaires that have questions like “what is your character’s favorite movie?” Or “What is their favorite social media app and why?” However, these questions do not work for creating fantasy characters (like I am). Do you have any ideas for questions to help writers create fantasy characters?

This is a fantastic question, especially for fantasy writers. There aren't many resources dedicated to the creation and development of fantasy characters. I highly recommend exploring Dungeons & Dragons (DND) questions; they can offer valuable insights like this one.

I mentioned things like dragons and magic to give you a place to begin, but you can totally explore other ideas beyond typical fantasy themes. Use these questions to spark new thoughts for your plot and character development, leading you to create a story that's unique and goes beyond the usual fantasy clichés.

November's characterization and appearance has actually stayed consistent since making them. At most, he doesn't talk as much anymore in his default state, and avoiding being outside of their suit more.

One thing that was retconned was a scene when November talked about missing safety railings. That was originally from Greyvember whose character was developed further later on, so the dialogue doesn't suit him anymore and Northvember said it instead.

November is really weird to fit into other worlds. He can't be in anything that doesn't include some form of a supernatural/magic system and/or creatures? Because if I were to simplify his concept down to what's recognizable: November is a collection of souls associated with a form or container where they attempt to be one guy or one thing. So any "modern au" without supernatural elements wouldn't really work. November's situation is not equivalent to irl cases of DID. Fantasy settings are probably fine. Be some weird cursed person or artifact, easy. Armoured suit November? could you imagine. There's a Pokemon AU for Modleyverse, where the only difference is that Pokemon exist. BUT. If November WAS a Pokemon, they're like a Spiritomb.

✂️ SCISSORS - what is the "last straw" for them to cut someone out of their life? how easily do they let go of people?

November so far hasn't been in a situation where it's gotten to that. It's theoretically very easy to get November to start avoiding you if they become afraid. An example is when Mars accidentally sliced the suit and November got scattered and panicked, and so started associating Mars with his tools rather than as crewmate. They got slightly better though, because they're both on a spaceship with nowhere to go, with Mars trying to coax November out of the vents, and something keeps urging November to do his tasks, so he couldn't hide forever. Other situations wouldn't resolve as easily, especially if November doesn't have any connection to the person prior.

🏊 SWIMMING - can they swim? or are they afraid of water? how well do they swim? how do they feel about swimming in the ocean?

Nope! It's really hard to swim with a suit, and otherwise would be extinguished if it's enough water. If with a proper suit, still cannot swim well at all. How they feel about swimming depends, but you're most likely to get either "no.. that's scary.." or "yes, I am an excellent swimmer :)!" and proceeds to not move because of subconscious self-preservation.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

First was their name. I just like code word stuff so I picked a couple names from the phonetic alphabet (my beloved) for an astronaut character. I think I had: bravo, kilo, november, tango, and whiskey? Friends suggested november because I was using the white suit and the month of november is cold. This influenced having a winter outfit theme later as well.

Visually, November was recycled from an old UOHRPG (different OC world) enemy + Vashta Nerada from Doctor Who

Other influences were also: The Flood (The Waters of Mars episode) which were liquid parasite colonies The Lux Foundation Library/Doctor Moon's concept of "saving" (which are also from Silence in the Library which is where the Vashta Nerada were introduced, and were the reason needing "saving") (cuz November is both the murderer and victim) That one specific burnt Elsen from OFF (which is what the UOHRPG enemy was inspired by) And the specific discomfort and fear I got from Everyman being swarmed in Undertale Obligatory The Thing mention, which may have also helped with the winter theme. And I like fur hoods, winter clothing in general -> the jacket/bag helmets and gas masks -> the fighter jet helmet uniform/military dress uniforms -> hat/neck tie/aiguilettes

Hey guys! I had a weird dream

Of course more things happening on it but ...

I remember very clear a moment when I became Varian (S3 design) I was a little exasperated but patiently and kindly trying to accomplish my chore while Eugene and Lance were interrupting me chatting about funny things

The chore consisted on getting a bunch of... ashes? Torned clothes? Yellow papers ? inside a golden cantinphlora, I finished and said my goodbyes.

Next I was not Varian anymore , I was next to Quirin keeping him company, a lady in waiting with the yellow uniform, was I Faith?, we were on a outside garden party at night with royals and citizens, everything was decorated with lanterns and few light bulbs.

Varian announced his entering , asking for everyone attention, he was not on a stage, but at the top of a wall helped with a mobile staircase, he was about to say speech, then he opened the cantinphora, put it on the wall and a little path of shiny orbs exploded from it, forming an arc of light.

It was lame because it was not big, and suddenly, I could think at the same time in the body of Faith and Varian "That was my fault, I didn't pushed enough ingredients into the cantinphora"

Then me as Varian, gave a proper salutation and started a speech talking about how much thankful I was for all my dad care and love, with a move of my hand, the path of lighting orbs followed me and then I drawed with my finger the silhouette of Quirin, very similar to a line of neon light.

Then the magic happened, I made the siluhette, but a sudden spark would compete all the details to make a full illustration of Quiring face and clothes, now the people awed at it and clapped , I felt great, the artifact was working.

Quirin looked pleased and honored, as in his S3 design, more smiling, and saying a kind of, "oh my child uvu ".

But then a guy wearing a big coat with a hoodie talked back aloud to be herd, unamused saying it what not big deal and did a copy of my Quirin illustration with his own neon light, looking from Faith perspective, tall, small eyes, with acne, pale skin, big long nose but rounded at the tip, not the typical pointy, the hair was not visible , the coat was butter colored.

Varian then felt the joy tainted, of course, disrespected, but shrugged and kept going, next , he thanked his "teacher" for showing him new habilites, he took three steps down the staircase and moved the hand for the next siluhette.

A illustration of an old men with a big robe, long curvy hair, long mustache and long barb appeared, the audience clapped but now Quirin was nervous and faking his smile while saying "That could be any one" like not wanting any one to recognize who this teacher was, but in fact, it was like a generic wizard.

Then the guy with the hoodie said aloud those habilites were easer to get when you train with a chopped and re-arranged hand.

The people gasped and Varian was visiblely tensed and wide eyed, the left hand tingling, angryly thinking "How dares he?! I don't want my dad to know about my hand!"

And then I woke up because my blanket endup far away from me and I was freezing xDdDDDDdD

Harmony falls in love easily and often. She finds it very hard to hide her affection, and generally confesses pretty fast. She presently has a wife, Olivia, a girlfriend, Ekaterina, and a boyfriend, Elliot, and she usually feels warmest and safest when she's with them.

🌈 RAINBOW - what advice would they give to their younger self?

The funny answer is "Don't date that guy" to avoid the whole sitch with her ex-boyfriend. Her real answer would probably be "Go home from school early on September 17th, 2008" in a misguided attempt to prevent her mother's death, the trauma of which has shaped her later childhood and much of her adult life.

💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?

Her consensualism, probably. She is fanatically consensualist, and is very judgemental toward anyone who feeds without consent. If she catches you alleycatting, she will probably try to convert you to consensualism. She did this to her wife (originally a bagger) before they were married.

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

Harmony's eyes are a very dark grey, and sometimes look like they're black.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Harmony was my first VTM character. She was initially heavily inspired by Silas Reed, from LoadingReadyRun's Actual Play Not A Drop To Drink: Vancouver Island By Night, which was one of my first exposures to WoD. The idea was to create a diplomatic Kindred that stood at the crux between Anarch and Camarilla, the sort of person that would be called on to mediate talks between sects; as I developed her more, she ended up choosing violence, and her focus on her consensualism became much more important.

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

EXTENDED. She has: Her wife, Olivia, whose sire they killed together (The couple that slays together stays together, yknow); Her sire (and girlfriend) Ekaterina/Katherine; Her mortal stepdad, Keith; Her mortal sister, Melody, who is also a mage (Discovering this was a funny scene); Her grandsire, Ceridwen, whom she idolizes; and her older blood sibling, Cayetano, whom she has a... complicated relationship with. She is intensely loyal to her family (except Cayetano) and will do anything for them.

📎PAPERCLIP - a random fact. (x2!)

1) Harmony is an antiquarian and book conservationist by trade. She specializes in commission work for preserving personal artifacts, and in work for Kindred libraries- if your Book of Nod is falling apart and you need it repaired or a facsimile made, she's your girl!

2) Harmony has a plushie named Baffie (short for Baphomet) which her sister gave to her while she was in the hospital when she was 15 (it's a long story that even her character sheet doesn't really get into). Baffie is a brown vampire bat with little fangs- ironically, her sister's special interest is vampires, ever since she was a kid, so much so that she's writing her undergrad thesis on Dracula. Finding out that vampires were real was an experience for her. Finding out that her sister was one had her apoplectic.

Batim: Ink of Origins

I decided to create an au based on the Origins from not only the Origins Smp, but the origins from the Afterlife Smp. Pretty Cool huh? Well anyways, here's how the AU works...

Basically, this AU is something like a Supernatural scenery and it is focused on the humans more than the toons (The toons are in it, they are just being some of the origins) where they have magical ancient devices called The Artifact of 10 Souls. The Artifacts are magical and grants any wearer the ability to turn into any Origin that the Orb of Origins pick out for them, which can be randomizing when it comes to choosing. However, as the name implies, the artifact has ten slots for each origin, so the user is limited to 10 origins that they are given...And the artifacts cannot be destroyed, which it can take form of amulets or any different wearables. (Think of it like a Ben 10 like AU, but instead of aliens, it is origins. Look at these following links to see the origins.
