The longer you spend in the avatar fandom the more you come to realize that a lot of people just wanted all post-atla content to consist of the main team taking victory laps and consecutive unambiguous Ws for the rest of time and this makes me rather anxious for how the discourse around the Adult Gaang movie is going to pan out

I finally tried my luck with Trollhunter!Barbara.
Here is the result:
Tumblr media
Obviously without Text again:
Tumblr media
Context:
It's the battle of the bridge. Barbara wants to end this fight against Bular, once and for all. However she is not only buisy with helping Blinky (who got caught), fighting off Bular and trying to prevent to open the bridge, but she is also buisy with thinking about Jim. Jim, who stands on stage to perform as Romeo. Her boy, her everything. It might seems unimportant in a literal war but she can't stop to think about his disapointment...how hurt he will be if she dosen't show up. However...she can't just leave Blinky and the other...(I mean, technically she could but-)
As she tries to fight back her enemys (as well as her toughts), a familiar figure appears behind her. With one quick and smooth movement, he managed to not only disarm her but also to smash her down onto the floor. Her sword bore into the dark floor of the museum. Her head spins for a second as she hit the floor, her vision is blurry for a few blinks, but even through the cracks of her glasses, she can see him.
His heavy foot pressed one of her arms onto the floor as he kneeled down to hover above her. She grabbed his ankle trying to free herself but he is heavy, too heavy for her. She squirms as he pinned her harder. Her calls for daylight, her sword, didn’t work. But...did she wanted it to work? It was still Walt-. No. It wasn’t. It was Stricklander, the changeling, the...Impure. A Monster.
He hovered above her, doing nothing but looking down at her, cold almost emotionless. But...this couldn’t be it. Everything they shared, everything they did...everything they went through. Something must have been real...even if it was just one tiny thing. She spoke his name, not his troll name...the name that she had used for him...with a shaky voice "please...Walt." Her eyes are close to tears and for a very brief moment she thought that his expression changed, that she could see some tears in his eyes too... whatever she thought that she saw, it was gone. His cold expression returned.
"You won’t 'save' me Bar-...", he stopped for a second, "...Trollhunter...no matter how hard you try. So why do you even try at all?" His cold words made the tears roll down her cheek. "...Because I believe that you want to change, Walt. I know that you can change...so please...let me help you..." She was pleading but he gave out a bitter chuckle. "You can't even help yourself." His claws grabbed the wrist of her free hand to pin it down, while his other leg pinned her legs. (Under other circumstances she might even would've enjoyed it-) His gaze changed to a disapointed and...scared?...look "I want to trust you...but-" His eyes close and he looked away before returning with a dark and cold expression. "This war will end. Here. Now..." He held her down while he used his free claw to grab the amulet on her chest. "Walt...please....for the sake of the world...." his grip tightened and he starts to pull wich gave her a hurtful sting in her chest. "...for your students...Toby, Claire....Jim..." He hesitated, just for a second before pulling harder with a growl. "...for me..." He stopped, just looking at the glowing amulet that was attached to her amor. "Please..." His mouth opened and closed again as if he wasn’t sure if he should say something.
"Useless Impure!" The dark prince, known as Bular, gabbed the Changelings neck to throw him against the wall. The wall cracked as the changeling hit it, his body fell limb onto the floor. Barbara couldn’t even react as the dark troll grabbed her. "I knew that the Impure couldn’t even follow one simple task. He will pay for that but first...we will let you pay." With that he ripped the amulet from her body and the amor vanished. Bular stepped onto the bridge, pinning Barbara’s head down onto the edge as he placed the amulet on it's place. "My father will enjoy smashing this small head of your's. Now watch your failure, human. Watch how pathetically you lose." She wanted to scream, she wanted to free herself but all she could do was watch. Blood runs down her forehead and her glasses are almost completely destroyed, yet she could see him...
'...s-sorry...' Stricklander mouthed as he tried to get up. Their gaze met in one last glance as the amulet burned blue and opened the bridge...
...
Well anways-

ok but...angel in verse 7 was/is a cocky little shit ( aka telling @hazbinned's alastor that summoning him by saying the words 'deer daddy' made the most sense because no one would know who he was talking about until he was too late && he's taking on the sterotypical protective father role )
angel then being in the hotel and using the nickname to get alastor's attention & giving husk, vaggie and everyone else a fucking heart attack because alastor responds like its his name??
gimme.
bonus points vox overhears it out and about while he's stalking alastor and causes a power outage

I love my collection of Fischls, and their various connections all back to being, at their fundamental core, intrinsically linked to one single iteration of "Immernachtreich" that is a single concept/convergence across realities.
In Genshin, as per my thoughts on Immernachtreich and The Abyss being inherently linked, I stated that Fischl - the playable one - is tied to it in an intangible way that connects her back to the original "Fischl," whoever that is wherever she is. An idealized version of what "Fischl" is supposed to be, that our Fischl reads about in books that tell her story - or some version of it.
In my other settings, I represent Immernachtreich much more loosely, but consistently in its fundamental ties to who Fischl is as a person. It's her Kingdom, the place from which she rules, from which she draws her power and authority.
Taking the distorted timeline path through the Infernal Nightfall and Honkai: Star Rail verses I have for her, Immernachtreich remains as it is in Genshin Impact, given that these two verses are an alternate timeline in which Fischl is from Teyvat and has those roots. The connection to the Abyss and Immernachtreich carries over, albeit stretched thin and distant - retained only through Oz's lingering presence near her under the cloak of darkness.
In her other world selves - of which I only have one active verse - she has Immernachtreich represented in other methods. In her Project Moon verse, the only verse written here on the blog, Fischl's "Immernachtreich" is where she does business from, adhering to the laws of the world, while still standing out as an uncertainty. A fundamental of her representation in that world is that the unfortunate expedition from her past left an impression upon her mind that is intangible and indelible - the mark of "Fischl."
In this world, the ideal of "Fischl" was imparted upon her by the ancient old world, predating everything seen in the current day of that universe, yet still always on the fringes and haunting the current world - in much the same way that the Abyss represents in Teyvat. Here, Fischl serves as a sort reincarnation of that ideal of "Fischl" and the old world. An office that is part of the system, but all goals within work to the antithesis of it. A trojan horse of that old and forgotten world, slowly creeping its way back in through the cracks.
And as of recent, I've penciled out a VERY rough Zenless Zone Zero verse for her, in which Immernachtreich is the name of a location that Fischl ambiguously defines as "swallowed by a Hollow" that she wants to reclaim. In her instance of this verse, she's taken on more from a Hollow than she ever should admit or imply - Oz being the takeaway. The "raven," a sentient something that came home with her to "serve" her, to guide her in reclaiming "Immernachtreich" for herself, recovering what she lost when it was swallowed by a Hollow.
At the end of this insane rambling that I am, quite literally, barely thinking about while writing, I want to summarize a few plot points out of my insanity.
Immernachtreich is the Abyss.
Immernachtreich is a Hollow.
Immernachtreich is a place between all worlds.
It's a kingdom of darkness - literally an "Evernight Kingdom" when translated. Therefore, I present the end of this inane thought process I have gone on.
Immernachtreich is, as many things are within Hoyo's reach, a piece of the Sea of Quanta. It does not belong to any world, it is not a part of any world, yet it touches every world in their own way. It becomes a part of stories, of the darkness that everyone looks upon. It etches itself into existence, and in every world it finds its "Fischl."
It finds someone who's just open enough, just clever enough, just trusting enough - someone who's just right on the cusp of something else, and it plants itself there. In subtle or direct methods, it sets upon the chosen Fischl the very idea of "Fischl" and "Immernachtreich." It is a game, it is a story, it is irreality.
It exists, it does not. It's a dream, it's reality.
Immernachtreich and every Fischl are the same place and person, because every world needs an idealistic hero who, even if they're obnoxious, headstrong, goofy - even if you want them to stop talking?
You still have that bond. They still have that charm. A champion needs companions, a Kingdom needs guardians. An idea needs people to keep it in mind for it to exist.
If Immernachtreich is a place where the souls of the departed go, then in a sense - as part of the Sea of Quanta - it is effectively an... Afterlife, with the ideal "Fischl" presiding as a judge. A finely tuned judge in each world, serving as a glimpse into every world.

Lil bit of a fucked up plot concept;
A good chunk of the original spirits have been seeking a way to destroy Mora as soon as it gained sentience, however due to its sphere / realm / just in general how much it has integrated itself into reality doing such would provide a ripple effect that would cause bigger issues if not done properly (especially since Apocrypha is Mora, and the plane actually is really tied to reality as discovered in ESO)
However, they find a way to do so without damaging creation / reality and Mora catches wind of such. Bonus if its figured out the truth / why this is the case (the original blueprint for creation obsession of mine will end when it stops being so tasty). OR during this another aids it on figuring out why its erasure is important.
Anyways Mora has to flee / go into hiding cause it certainly does not want to be Actually Deleted from sentience. Different from vesseled where it was punished for crimes of its, it is aware it cannot return to what it once was for that would be a death sentence. Instead it has to seek out other methods / probably plot revenge

Listen, I know this might sound untrue, but Arthur IS mostly a bad dude—or at least not as good a man as some claim. (I love him still but hear me out)
This is not me arguing “he’s bad so you shouldn’t like/glorify him” at all, I promise—I can’t stand that rhetoric. It’s just that I see a lot of “he’s so kind” “so good at heart” “so hard on himself” and I wonder why folks so often adamantly, un-ironically claim him as a misunderstood gentle giant type.
The fact that he’s mostly nice to those he cares about and is willing to help strangers in need (never mind both of those things are optional anyhow, you can just as easily play him as an asshole who doesn’t come to anyone’s aid—) doesn’t undo the harm he’s responsible for throughout the game. Nor does him being told to do so by an authority or being a victim of circumstance undo it.
His good doesn’t make up for his bad, and I don’t think it actually needs to. His bad certainly doesn’t take away from what makes him compelling and likeable to the audience; but within the context of his world, he’s right to be unhappy with who he is. It’s not a matter of low self esteem or self worth issues, his unhappiness with himself comes from self awareness.
(Saying this with a grain of salt because you know, fictional character with no real agency whose actions are as such for plot reasons), he may have had a shit hand dealt to him, but he’s a person who makes bad choices. He’s charming and relatable (and hot lol) but I’m not sure I understand the whole simplifying his character to “good person stuck in bad situation” thing, when it plainly isn’t the case, no matter how much we like him.
I think the “you’re a good man Arthur” line gets thrown around as proof of him being good at heart; but I think it’s more like, he needed to hear it to act as such. He needed to be told how to be good and pushed into reflection and immediate actions. He needed to be told that he’s a good man by others because he needed permission in a sense to be different than he knows himself to be. (Take a shot every-time I say good)
“The Thomas Downes mission was out of character” it really isn’t. He says what kind of man he is multiple times, he hammers the point home that he’s a bad man. And while there is definitely a bit of self loathing in that sentiment, he’s still speaking his truth. He’s just unhappy with it; he IS the type of man to commit an atrocity like beating a dying man for a few bucks. It goes against the beliefs fans have projected onto him, usually coming from their own moral compass instead of what the character shows his own to be, and that’s why it ‘feels so wrong’ to see him doing something actually despicable.
We arrive at this misunderstanding due to fandom projection, as well as this rampant desire to problem solve by ‘fixing’ the canon material to fit a sort of agenda. Ie, ‘I only like the good attributes in this character’ ‘it’s only acceptable to like this bad dude provided he’s always feeling guilt for his actions’ or ‘he’s not really at fault for them.’
But the thing is, even if Arthur is at conflict with his actions, the guilt he may feel isn’t an indication of anything pure within him. He’s in total control and chooses still to go along with everything. I tend to think an action done in guilt is functionally the same as an action done with enjoyment. Arthur feeling bad at the end of the game for his faults and complicity doesn’t mean he is good. Nor does it mean he ‘was a good the whole time’, nor does it excuse what he’s done.
We don’t have to make him a better person than he is in order to like him, is what I’m trying to say I guess. It’s fine to acknowledge all parts of him, to do otherwise does a disservice to his character as it often flattens them beyond recognition. And it’s also fine to hone in on what you appreciate most and write and draw and celebrate that while functionally ignoring the rest if you so choose—but it’s also fine (and usually important) to acknowledge who the character is without the plethora of projections placed upon them.
Arthur ends the game with a loving act, more or less saving John, saving Abigail, Tilly, paving the way for them to become something better than he was. None of these things are meant to be a great action done to save his soul or redeem him in any eyes, especially not his own. He dies on a good note (and yeah I would say low honour/back for the money is still a ‘good’ choice for a low honour story), and shifts his focus to the last good deed he’s done in his final moment as a way to leave off peacefully despite all his wrongdoings. He doesn’t get redemption really, and he doesn't wholly achieve 'goodness', despite all the potential for growth the audience can see in him, that’s the deliberate tragedy of it all.

@8radicaldragon8 asked the summoner:
10 c: (a way that they are improving on any of the above!)
What the fuck is wrong with my character?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haha, this is gonna sound rambley without (fresh) context.
As much as he resigns himself to acting in accordance to a higher design, that in itself does not mean he can't improve on a personal level. His own flaws and insecurities still exist separately from the duress of purpose - such as his core fear: losing Kumo, especially as a result of the damage he himself had caused.
Kumo is Kaze's everything, both as his fellow Unlimited companion on the quest to end Chaos, but also as a friend and someone he considers a charge. This possessiveness gives birth to paranoid and harmful behavior, with Kaze himself erring always on the side of caution, which has led to isolating and emotionally (or, in one scene, physically) hurting Kumo on several occasions.
However, he hates to see his "other half" suffer, even if said suffering may seem to be in his best interest. Indeed, Kaze has never been great at interpersonal relationships and has always been either far below or far above others in Windarian hierarchy. The former teaching him some toxic lessons about authority, and the latter forcing far too many burdens, far too fast for his age.
At his core, especially now that he is linked to Bahamut, Kaze struggles with perceiving others as equals. Not in the sense of combat skills; But in the capacity to make their own decisions and shoulder responsibility. The gunman's crippling fear of Kumo returning to Anarchy is an example of such.
At the start of the verse, freshly post-canon, he still views Kumo as a naïve boy and seeks to control him through fear. Throughout the verse, he will learn to better respect his other's views and decisions, even in the event they stand in opposition to his own. Meeting his equal on equal terms, and undoing the damage done to his own perception of interpersonal relationships by Silver Storm.
In doing so, he must also allow himself to be loved in turn - for a being hated by everyone and everything cannot reliably show love, either. He even went as far as to cast away his name out of fear of ruining the image of the brother beloved by Aura - and by Kumo. But a dead thing cannot be held accountable, which means he must come to accept being alive, changed as he now is.
In accepting Kumo's help, in allowing his other's purpose of Salvation to extend to his own cursed self as well, the Black Wind may yet learn that he does not have to resign himself to being a monster and nothing else, and that even beings tethered to impossible decisions can still find peace in the little inbetweens. That he can be both Rorahm and the Hunter, and Rorahm does love his Seejvariil dearly. A discovery that will in turn allow Kumo to accept his own castaway name and reconcile with his past of slaughter.
Ultimately, since Salvation cannot save himself, someone else will have to.

/ Genuine question, but for those who are fans of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Why do you like them? I personally don't like them, and have my own opinions on them that are mostly negative while some are positive.
I just want to know when she's bullied the crusaders for so long and especially bullied Scootaloo for being disabled.
No hate to those who like them. <3
