Nagi had fallen sick. (Name) found out from Reo after he messaged her about Nagi’s condition. Reo had asked her to check up on Nagi since he couldn’t do so at the moment. After finishing university, she hurriedly went to Nagi’s home. Upon arrival, she swiftly unlocked the door using the spare keys Nagi had given her some time ago. As she stepped inside, she called out his name.

“Sei?” (Name) called, removing her shoes and heading towards his bedroom. “Is that you, (Name)?” a hoarse voice replied, and there she saw Nagi, bundled up in blankets. His usually neat hair was now tousled, and his nose appeared reddened.

“Loveeee, where are you?” he whined, struggling to free himself from the clutches of the blankets to search for (Name). Sensing his predicament, she took it upon herself to help him unravel, and Nagi’s head finally emerged, instantly brightening as he caught sight of her face.

“(Nameee)!” He pulled her onto the bed, enveloping her in a tight embrace, showering her face with peppering kisses. (Name) surrendered to the warmth of Nagi’s affection, delicately grasping his shoulders.

“S-Sei! Please, stop—Hey!” (Name) protested, attempting to thwart his kisses. Yet, his strength surpassed hers, resulting in a gentle peck on her lips. Finally, exhausted, he collapsed onto the bed, pulling (Name) into an intimate embrace, cradling her against his chest like a cherished teddy bear.

“Well, aren’t you clingy,” she muttered, surrendering to Nagi’s embrace. He whined and tightened his grip around her waist, while (Name) responded by gently stroking his hair. Suddenly, she remembered her purpose and made a move to leave the bed, realising she could search for some medicine.

“What are you doing? Stay with me,” he pouted.

“For the love of God, Sei, you need your medicine. I can’t let you stay sick for too long,” she replied, continuing to pat his head as it rested on her lap.

He grumbled in annoyance, then chose to hug the pillow beside him. (Name) sighed at his playful antics and swiftly went to fetch the medicine and a glass of water.

Returning, (Name) found Nagi still asleep, his chest rising and falling gently as soft snores escaped his lips. Shaking her head, she decided to lie down beside him, planning to administer the medicine once he woke up.

Nagi instinctively clung to her waist, finding comfort with his head resting against her collarbone. In (Name)’s eyes, he resembled a contented, oversized cat. She placed a tender kiss on his head, gently running her fingers through his hair before succumbing to a peaceful slumber herself.

KOKIA in flashback - 2018

Time flies, and in 2018, KOKIA celebrates her 20th anniversary! She counts down to it with many new releases, starting with her 4-disc (!) best of album EVOLVE to LOVE, which gets a special big package release along with the normal version. On the video side, we get the 3-disc DVD release Bird Watching, looking back on her career in clips going as far back as 2002 and commentary throughout. Just ahead of her actual anniversary, she releases her new album Tokyo Mermaid, and finally, she celebrates her anniversary proper with the big venue concert Beyond Imagination.

Rather than ending her 20th anniversary there, she kicks off the celebrations proper, continuing to perform in both Japan and abroad, visiting China again, and even returning to France once more. The Tokyo Mermaid album is the first album in a while to get a French release, too.

KOKIA is also on a roll with the ton ton ton animal project and releases the second album in the series, again released in tin packages, and also releases merchandise as planned, including animalthemed cookies.

A first this year for KOKIA is a Blu-ray release. So far, her concerts have only been published on DVD, but her 20th anniversary concert gets both a DVD and Blu-ray release. Later this year, her 2016 LAYERS concert also gets a Blu-ray upgrade.

And finally, KOKIA starts a collaboration with cocochia, an organic brand, modelling for them together with her son Leo.

“Qīn ài de, you know you don’t have to help me, right? I can manage it myself,” you said, noticing his pouting and sulking due to his inability to assist you.

“But I really want to help you, love. Can’t I do something?” he whined, leaning against your shoulder and wrapping his strong arms around your waist.

“Ugh, fine, you can help me,” you conceded, just as Jing Yuan playfully unravelled his arms from your waist and reached for the bowl, where your hand held the spoon, busily whisking the batter.

Lost in his work, he had forgotten how long it had been since he began signing and scrutinising the documents. Suddenly, the sound of a door opening and closing broke his concentration. Paying little mind to it, he continued his work, his senses attuned to the soft footsteps of the mysterious visitor.

“Qīn ài de,” (Name) called out, finally capturing Yingxing’s attention. He looked up from his work to find them standing in front of his desk, arms crossed and wearing a pout. “Hmm? What are you pouting about?” he asked, seemingly oblivious to their needs.

(Name) let out a sigh, their disappointment palpable. They moved around the desk, gently pushing Yingxing’s chair back and settling comfortably on his lap. Yingxing’s face immediately flushed red, unsure where to direct his gaze or what to do with his hands.

Placing their hands on Yingxing’s face, (Name) guided his gaze upward, locking their stunning eyes with his. “Is the mighty Yingxing feeling shy?” they teased, their fingers caressing his cheeks tenderly.

Hiori, on the other hand, seemed to alternate between singing and leisurely observing everyone else’s performances.

As for you, your shyness had kept you from singing much, and you found yourself uncertain about taking the stage. Instead, you opted to capture these hilarious moments on video and indulge in the provided snacks.

With the background music still playing, Karasu finally plopped down beside you, visibly exhausted from his singing extravaganza, passing the torch to his friend to continue his so-called legacy. Catching your silence, Karasu realised you hadn’t sung a single song.
