一個年輕人經過一間養豬場，前去看了一下。 當年輕人進入養豬場時，他發現到處都是污穢和惡臭。 他看到一群豬被困在高聳的鐵柵欄裡。 養豬場主用皮鞭抽打豬，豬大聲尖叫，全身受傷。 本著人道主義精神，年輕人對養豬場主提出了抗議。

年輕人：「先生，你不能這樣虐待豬。」 養豬場主：「沒關係，我的鞭子很粗。」 年輕人：「可是這些豬都快餓死了。」 養豬場主：「沒關係，我都給他們吃瘦肉精。」 年輕人：「這些豬有自由的權利。」

養豬場主：「是的，所以我把柵欄蓋得很高。」 當年輕人向養豬場主抗議時，豬把頭伸出了柵欄的邊緣。 ��喊道：「你對養豬場充滿偏見！這種傲慢讓我難以接受！」 年輕人頓時驚慌失措。

豬繼續吠叫：「你住過豬圈嗎？你知道飼養數百頭豬的主人有多累嗎？你知道當主人打我們的時候他的手有多痛嗎？ 」 年輕人小心翼翼地問：「你不想看看外面的世界嗎？」

豬興奮地說：「外面有什麼好？我們豬在這堵高牆內就感到安全了！」 年輕人頓時不好意思，趕快離開了。

I ordered at a restaurant and the table number card had a note requesting one to return the 器皿 after use, but at first vague glance I mistook 皿 for 血 and wondered what on earth they were serving with blood in a waffle shop. It turned out my order got delivered in this, so I guess little baskets fall into the 器皿 category.

Just the two of us so rather than the dining places that me and mum usually go to, I proposed Xing Hua Delights (回味轩兴化菜馆). What I liked about this place is their homey cooking style which matched my palate well. While waiting for the dishes to be served, we sipped on Barley Drinks. I had the cold version (S$1.80++) while mum took the hot drink (S$1.30++).

We started off with this small (S$11++) Stir-fried Green Beans (干煸四季豆) cooked with minced pork and dried chilli. The beans are still crunchy in the centre and the chilli gave it a little heat; nothing we Singaporeans couldn’t handle.

Normally we had the pig’s stomach in soup so we ordered this S$12++ plate of Flash Fried Pig’s Maw (爆炒豬肚) for a change. Came stir-fried with plenty of vegetables such as bamboo shoots, sweet peas, black fungus, carrots and onions plus spices like ginger and garlic.

Using the lees (红糟) left over from wine fermentation, the restaurant prepared this S$15++ portion of Red Rice Vinesse Pork Belly (红糟三层肉). The lees imparted the dish its alcoholic fragrant and taste. While the pork bellies aren’t too bad, I found them on the springy side. I actually preferred their chicken version cooked in the same style.

This fic has a similar vibe to The Other Shore, but the situation is different in a way. The writer said it's a gentle BE and I saw someone said the BE here is more like a touching feeling than the sadness that comes from a tragic scene. Even so, BE is still BE to me, and it did make me cry (っ˃̣̣̥ -˂̣̣̥ς)

🍲 Minced pork, chickpeas and pickled vegetable noodles with spicy broth from 📍 Hao Noodle and Tea on Avenue of the Americas. At first glance, it may seem like an odd combination of noodle toppings, but it's a delicious Chongqing classic!

💸It's pricier than what I usually go for at $14, but the establishment itself is quite fancy and would be a good place to invite guests visiting the city looking for Chinese food in Greenwich Village.
