mysterious things that happened to me in taiwan

went to a somewhat famous 豆花 store two days in a row, first day they were super busy so i did not talk at all to the employees when ordering, second day was a weekday so i did talk to the employees and they were noticeably more hostile after hearing my (northeastern and thus def mainland) accent

i told fellow lab members this story and one of them said that 台湾热就是自卑+崇洋媚外 (taiwanese lack self confidence and are obsessed with foreigners/foreign culture)

getting in the taxi and telling them where i want to go: 50% chance neutral silence, 30% vaguely hostile silence, 20% chance to have a long discussion about where i'm from/my backstory that will inevitably include the taxi driver telling me about their support for reunification (maybe they finally found a young person who seems like a safe person to discuss this with), reasons varying from cultural recognition of common roots (one telling me its ridiculous when young people think of themselves as having no connections to mainland, vast majority of them are han chinese and the earliest they came to taiwan was late ming dynasty) to practical (us doesn't actually give a fuck about taiwan, taiwan alone is a small nation without much of a future but reunification would be joining the huge nation of china)

was commenting to a lab friend that the high speed rail is super convenient, can basically make any trip (at least on the western coast) a day trip without having to stay overnight, wish they had this in the us. she said the us is probably too big, i pointed out mainland is also huge and yet the government is even constructing the sichuan-tibet hsr line right now which is a huge money sink, and in fact a lot of infrastructure construction in tibet is a huge money sink that is rarely used right now (whereas there would definitely already be a huge existing market for hsr in the us), she replied "perhaps this is something that only communist countries can accomplish"

【自己紹介　2024年8月3日追記　4335文字】 三重県伊賀市（旧名：上野市）出身 伊賀市（旧名：上野市）に 1976年（3歳）から 1996年（23歳）6月まで住んでいた 1976年以前の記憶と出生は不明 津市にある施設にいたと聞いた覚えがある お兄さんいるらしいがあった事は一度もない 30代の頃に一度だけ電話で話をした

伊賀市でそこそこ有名なのが 伊賀流忍者で忍者屋敷は今も昔も変わらない内容で 営業している 伊賀牛は金谷のすき焼きが有名で 森辻が新しい様相なってから焼肉を食べた 個人的には伊藤の牛丼が好きだ 上野天神祭の鬼行列も有名かな ひょろつき鬼が子供の頃は本気で怖かった 銀座通りが歩行者天国になり 的屋がならぶ 高校生の頃はリング焼きが100円ぐらいで 何個も買って食べた 松尾芭蕉は俳句で有名で伊賀出身で 小学生の頃はがっつりと俳句を作らされる 俳句はいやいや作らされたので 俳句番組は見ない 俳聖殿の中には過去の優秀な俳句が収められていたかな 上野城のお堀の高さ日本2位？ 中学生の頃は上野城で体育の授業があったり クロスカントリーレースで走らされたり 高校生のデートも上野城が定番だったのか それらしき男女がイチャついていた 夜のライトアップは不気味なお城に見えた 一応、桜の名所なのかな 伊賀の街には銀座通りとか丸の内とか 東京で聞くような名称が多く使われている 地元のうわさでは東京が伊賀の真似をして 街を作ったとの話がよく出てくるから 誰か本気でテレビとかで調べてほしい気もする 2004年（平成16年）11月1日に 伊賀市に変わってから 上野市駅が忍者市駅になり 近鉄の電車だったのが伊賀鉄道になり 電車がコスプレになった 駅前には銀河鉄道999のメーテルと哲郎の銅像があり 産業会館がハイトピア伊賀になった 産業会館だった時にマルキンのパン屋が近くにあった そこのシナモンパンが子供の頃から大好きで 今はもう手に入らない もう一度、あのシナモンパンが食べてみたい 新天地もなんかおしゃれなサビれかたで 「新天地Otonari」となった 街は高校生の頃の面影は薄���なったけど 何となく残っている上野市街は今でも魅力的だ 最近は実家で一人暮らしのおかんの様子を見に よく帰省するようになったけど 若い頃は年一回も帰省しなかった 最近の伊賀でよく立ち寄るのが 「菓匠 桔梗屋織居」と 「HANAMORI COFFEE STAND」と 「岡森書店白鳳店」で 岡森書店は、Kマーホの名で出版した 「トイレの閃き」が背表紙の色が抜けた状態で 25年以上も本棚に置いてくれている これを見ると初心に戻れて まだまた創作していこうとがんばれる

市部という地区だったと思う 依那古第一保育所に5歳から6歳の2年間通った おかんは自分の送り向かいのために 自転車を乗る練習して そのおかんが運転する自転車の後ろに乗って 途中の田んぼに二人で落ちて 泥だらけになった 小学校までは上野市依那具にある 市営の城ケ丘住宅で過ごした この市営住宅はもう40年以上も その雰囲気を変えずに今でも残っている ここは伊賀市の文化遺産にしていいほどの時間が止まった場所だ いまだに汲み取り式の便所の換気の煙突が立ち並んでいる このカオスな感じは小学生の頃の不便な生活を思い出させる あの生活で暮らしたから今があるのは確かだ 小学校の通学路にある 垂園森でよく遊んだ 現在も存在しているが オバケが出そうな森 この森は当時通っていた依那古小学校の校歌の歌詞にも出て来る イメージ的には幽霊が出そうな森だけど 何か不思議な生き物が住んで居そうな森に見えた きつねも出そうだし おばけも幽霊も心霊も もしかするとタイムスリップして 小学生の頃に戻れそうな気もする森だと変な懐かしさを感じる 近くには無人駅の市部駅とにらめっこしている森 中学校から市街の上野城の 城下町で過ごした 当時はカオスな市営城ケ丘住宅から出れる事が本当にうれしかった 小学校までの友達とも飽きてしまっていたので寂しくはなかった 当時から色々な物にすぐに飽きては新しい物が好きだったので そっちのワクワク感で本当にうれしかった そして築20年以上の中古の一軒家で2階建て 自分の部屋がありトイレは汲み取り式だけど洋式で あこがれの上野の街で住める事もあって本当にうれしかった

そして近くの崇廣中学校に通う事に 中学校の3年間は 転校生という立場と 中一で足の骨折 中二で腕の骨折 どちらも遊んでいての骨折2回 中三の高校受験で いい想い出は無い

高校2年生で 小学校の時にサッカーで出会った 旧友とバンドを組んだ RCサクセションのコピーで 「雨上がりの夜空に」「トランジスタラジオ」 「ベイベー逃げるんだ」「サマーツアー」 「サントワマミー」「いけないルージュマジック」 「いいことばかりはありゃしない」 旧友が作ったオリジナル曲「ガレージの上のR＆Rバンド」 一番のモテ期だった気がする ただバンドをやっている自分を見て 好意を寄せられても違うなと思った バンドをしていない時はただのバイトに明け暮れた 高校生だったから だからそういう人には興味がなかったから 冷たい感じだったかも 本当にこの時期がこれまでで一番楽しかった。

1993年 一人暮らしを始める やっと自由になった気がした 2年間ぐらいは金が無くて 通帳の残高は毎月マイナス50万 カツカツ生活 1996年7月から 2003年7月の 7年間は茨城県と千葉県の県境 利根川の近くに住んでいた この界隈を走るタクシー運転手の 態度は本当にムカつくから こっちも態度悪く乗ると 気分の悪さはお互いさまになる 関東平野は景色が無く ここでの生活は落ち着かなかった 食文化も人も気候も水も 肌に合わなかった 特にうどんの汁が濃いだけのシンプルな味は げんなりさせてもらった ただ寺原駅近くの「ふる川」はよく通った とくにカレーめちゃくちゃ美味かった

1997年から パソコンをミドリ電化で38万で購入して 作詞やネットに興味を持つ まどみちお詩集を読みだす 作詞に近い詩を書き始める 「Ｋマーホ」という名で 詩を書き始める 目標を300篇と決めて 詩を思いついたら メモをつけるようになる 週末は家に引きこもり 一日中、音楽を聴きながら パソコンがあるのに まだワープロで詩を清書していた

1998年から2002年まで 「Ｋマーホ」の名で 詩に団体に参加したり 詩の賞に応募したり 詩集を自費出版したり この当時参加していた詩の団体には もうドロドロとした 詩を書く人や あまりにも読み解けない詩や 暴力的な人や いい人もいたけど 自分とは全然目指している方向が 違うので2年目ぐらいで辞めた それからは詩の団体に興味は無くなった それから 自費出版した詩集を 全国の小中学校や 全国の図書館へ寄贈して 活動を休止 理由は2000年に結婚してから 集中して詩を書く時間が無くなってきたから 2002年に2つの詩集を出版して 詩の事は全部段ボール箱へ入れた

2003年から2019年まで 育児に重点を置いて生活をする この時期は友達とも連絡を 切っていたので のちに死亡説や宗教説が出ていたらしい 2003年7月から 現在は静岡県在住 もう20年以上住んでいる

2019年 るんぺんパリ【RunPenParis】の名で 詩を書き始める SNSでの詩の発信を始める るんぺんパリ【RunPenParis】とは フランスはパリの街を ぺんを持って 走るという意味から 【RunPenParis】ができた 1973年8月1日生まれ（もう51歳） しし座 O型 右利き 詩・詩集・ことばをデザイン アート・写真・小説・ペン画 松尾芭蕉の生家がある伊賀市で 十代までを過ごし 俳句が幼少期から 身近に存在していた 二十代から詩を書き始めて 「Kマーホ」名で活動（1999-2002） 詩集6冊を出版して活動休止

My Favorite SHORT Dramas

My latest obsession in dramaland are mini dramas. They can go from 15 minutes to even 1 minute long per episode! 0_0 Here are my favorites!

The Only Girl You Haven’t Seen [MY FAVORITE SHORT DRAMA!]

An assassin is killed by her master and wakes up in the body a newly married bride to an idiot prince. But he’s not as dumb as he seems. These two go through multiple trials including war, disease and scheming princes not to mention their own secrets that threaten their marriage. 

Both of them are cuties and their love is adorable and simple. But then they are both bad asses in their own right and kick a lot of ass in this show. I love not only them and their love, but their growth into their identities. They prove that power couples are still possible!

Maid’s Revenge [BEST CHEMISTRY!]

After the murder of her entire family, a girl becomes the maid of the man who killed them. She plots her revenge against him not knowing the full truth of what really happened or who is really responsible for her family’s deaths. 

The main guy was perfect for this role: broody, commanding, sexy as hell and pining for the female lead. As for her, I like this actress after watching her in other cuter dramas so seeing her in this more serious drama made me appreciate her acting even more. There’s a lot of angst in this drama. You can drink with a straw. And the story’s not bad either. 

Dangerous Love [WISH THERE WAS MORE!]

A little scaredy cat marries a scary duke who supposedly killed all of his previous wives! She is terrified of him, but he isn’t as scary as she thinks he is. 

Another marriage life drama: this one with more comedy than The Only Girl. The girl has all these misunderstandings about her husband, and it doesn’t help that he doesn’t try all that hard to refute them. His way of winning her over is a bit different. The drama is silly but overall a great watch. 

Love for Two Lives [CUTEST DRAMA!]

A modern girl suddenly finds that she is living next door to a king from an ancient country! He makes his queen to avoid marrying someone else. She comes in and modernizes the palace to the king’s enjoyment, but not everyone likes her or her “tricks”.

A refreshing story! What do you get when you mix old school palace royals with new technology? This story. It’s hilarious and you love all the characters. The two leads have natural chemistry and I so want a 2nd season!

The Little Wife of the General [STORIES ABOUT GENERALS ARE MY WEAKNESS]

A modern gal gets into an accident and becomes a general’s bride! The overbearing general doesn’t want her as his bride but with her fantastic cooking skills and her bright personality she slowly wins him over. There’s another gal who wants the general for herself and proves to be the thorn in everyone’s side about it.

I liked this drama pure for the story and the WHEN! This is a slow burn romance so relax, put up your feet and wait for the general to come around. There is plenty to like otherwise: the comedy, the foodie prince who is always eating and plot that keeps that story rolling.

Bossy Husband Who Loved Me [Season 1] [MOST CREATIVE!]

A novelist is pulled into her own story and in order to get out she has to progress the story along, BUT the main character in the novel, who is also her husband, can read her mind and thus foils all of her plans. She has to deal with the aftermath and has no idea he can hear her thoughts.

This drama wins just for creative writing. Any story with someone falling into a story, a game, another world, etc. I am interested to see what craziness happiness. For this drama, that someone is the novelist herself, but she can’t succeed with her husband ruining everything she does. This is just season 1 so their story isn’t done yet. Let’s bring on season 2 and all that comes with it!
