after watching today’s ㄴㅇㅅㅌ record 3, i just felt like saying a few things to the most precious nu’est. first of all, i am so sorry that it took 6 years for you to become first. i am so sorry that you became first 2045 days after debut and that our small fandom couldn’t make it happen in the first few years. i am so sorry that you had to blame yourselves and went through all those hard times and i am so sorry that you were aware of what was going on yet you always did put those smiles on your faces. i am so sorry that you had to see a lot of fans leaving the fandom. i am so sorry for being an international fan that couldn’t do much more than voting, streaming and promoting in the past 6 years and i am so sorry that we weren’t able to make you known by the korean fans. i am so sorry that you had to go to all those other countries while you wanted to promote in your own country the most. i am so sorry for not being able to give you that feeling of knowing that you’ve worked hard up until the 6th year. i am so sorry that you had to receive the title of becoming first with one person missing… but i am so thankful for the days that you felt like giving up but had each other and us, the ㄴㅇㅅㅌs, to lean on. i am so thankful for that little hope that never disappeared and kept you all on going. i am so thankful for your families that have been supporting you for the past 6 years and i am so thankful for everyone that believed in you and did not even doubt your talents. i am so thankful that you’ve gained so many new ㄴㅇㅅㅌs that will give you strength forever and i am so thankful for each of the members. i am so thankful for nu’est being and staying nu’est no matter what and as last, i am so so so thankful that both of us were able to endure it all… and i promise you, from now on it will be you walking the flower path.

Indefinite Hiatus

The words ‘hiatus’ can be quite a daunting one but I don’t want anyone to be alarmed by it. Me going on hiatus does not mean I am no longer supporting Minhyun or NU’EST overall, because let’s be honest-could I stop even if I wanted to? Not a chance. NU’EST are my home and Minhyun is my heart. That is something that won’t ever change. I will follow their work and walk besides them always and forever.

With the growth and expansion of this fandom, I feel like a lot of us older fans were trying too hard to scramble back into the comfortable positions we had been in before. We had settled in, made ourselves at home in our niches and then suddenly, everything changed. It was hard to accept and to adapt; for many, they simply couldn’t and they left. I just want to make it clear that me going on hiatus is nothing to do with the change in fandom dynamics whatsoever. Yes I too struggled initially but I soon realised that-whatever I had done in the past for the fandom was in the past. I had helped others during the time I needed to and perhaps with the change in dynamics, with the addition of younger fans, it’s time for me to hand over the baton and allow others to continue giving and sharing in this fandom the way I had tried to since NU’EST debuted.

Recently, I had a very sobering experience which made me question-what am I really doing? What am I trying to achieve? In terms of this fandom, there was no clear answer. I think ultimately I just wanted to feel like I was part of something greater, but that didn’t feel satisfactory enough. Supporting NU’EST, helping introduce others to them, that is something I will always continue doing but I don’t really have a place in this fandom anymore. Helping NU’EST gain the support they needed was always the ultimate goal. Seeing them happy, healthy, successful and loved is all I ever wanted and now that they have accomplished this, I feel like I can step back a little and focus more on accomplishing more of my own goals.

Being an active part of this fandom has been trying at times; it most certainly hasn’t been the easiest thing over the years, but the fierce loyalty that ㄴㅇㅅㅌs have towards NU’EST is unmatched. Be humble always ㄴㅇㅅㅌs, be kind towards one another and always have courage to open your heart to others, to listen well and to do your best to help support NU’EST positively. To fans of Minhyun who have been supporting him as part of Wanna One, thank you for keeping him company on his short journey outside of NU’EST; he knows how hard it is to see him not with the other members, but he is pursuing his dreams and working hard. Let’s be positive and support him well. Let’s also support NU’EST W as a unit, who are doing their best to be a unit that Minhyun can be proud of, that ㄴㅇㅅㅌs can be proud of. Every phase in the journey of each NU’EST member’s life is to forge a stronger path together as a unit and with ㄴㅇㅅㅌs. Never forget that.

To everyone who follows this blog, to the handful of people who have ever attempted to talk to this awkward-fangirl, I am truly thankful and extremely grateful to you, but more than anything I am just really happy to know that NU’EST have so much growing support. For now, I need to take a step back so there will be no updates on this blog for a while. Will that change in time? I’m not sure, I can not answer that but if anyone ever actually wants to talk then my ask box is always open and I’m just a message away on Twitter too. CONGRATULATIONS Nu’est!!!

After 7 years they finally got their first win on the 315th episode of Show Champion.

Finally they’ve won as a complete group. I’m so proud of Nu’est. They’ve overcome so much and have steadfastly held faith that their hard work would be worth it in the end. They worked so hard while they were in their own places and now are reunited and achieving their dreams together. I’m so happy to see them gain recognition & success. It’s only up from here.

This comeback has been memorable. We’ve accomplished quite a lot. First we got FACE to 100M, YT subscribers to 1M, reaches #1 on multiple iTunes around the world, sold 220k+ albums first week, reached no.8 on billboard world albums chart, got 10M views in 9 days, reached a new peak of no.13 on billboard social 50 chart & tonight we’re getting our first ot5 reality show. Let’s keep going together with Nu’est in the future.
