at the build a snowman station of the winter festivities with cassius alder … @dreamerfms
“ i know it makes no sense to put a scarf on something made of snow, it defeats the whole purpose and blahblahblah but, look at him ! doesn't he look adora- ” the phase dies down on her lips as she takes a look at the station to her right and sees who it is that she's addressing. in denial, she stares for a couple of seconds just to be sure. had palmview grove ever been like this ? filled with people from any and everywhere she could just randomly run into ? “ -ble. ” she whispered. “ with the scarf and the thing. the scarf. that. ” now she was making no sense, literally pointing to the fucking thing around the snowman's non-existing neck.

hey guys just gonna repost this oneshot
this is basically me hating on a certain blonde woman and uh not exactly sympathizing (took me 3 minutes to spell that bro) for a certain blonde man
idk this is just me giving cassius trauma ig
word count: 1.3k words
@thesfromhms hi come read my oneshot :>
Cassius had always tried to be a good parent.
He remembered his own father far too well- the nights spent alone in his room after being scolded for zoning out in classes, how he had never really gotten to spend quality time with his parents.
So he wanted to be the best father possible for young Vivia.
Vivia, his beautiful ten year old daughter, had the most astounding eyes, pale blue ones that could draw you in and keep one trapped there for eternity. Paired with her dimples and bright smile, there was nothing to hate about the girl.
Cassius was, that day, sitting on the couch in his apartment. It was the one he and Gisela shared with their daughter. There were three bedrooms- one for Gisela and him, one for Vivia and a guest room. Vivia didn’t spend a lot of time in her room, however. She seemed to always linger around her parents, although Gisela tried to distance herself more.
Cassius made sure he was there for Vivia whenever he could. He cooked her favourite meals sometimes, just to see the delighted grin that spread across her face when she saw the results. Other times, he took her out to stroll through the streets of Atlantis, and look at the pet stores.
Cassius was then shaken out of his thoughts by a certain blonde-haired girl.
“Dad!” Vivia smiled brightly. “I finished the book you gave me! See?” She showed him the book he had left her the other night to read if she wanted. It was a short novel- under two hundred pages, but still exciting. It was about humans, which had always seemed to fascinate Vivia.
“That’s good, darling,” Cassius said, as she climbed onto his lap and he held her close. “Do you want me to buy you another?”
At this suggestion, Vivia nodded eagerly. “Yes, please!”
With a chuckle, Cassius ruffled her hair, earning himself a pouty look from his daughter. “I’ll get you another from the bookstore down the road,” He decided. “They have a whole section, you know.”
Vivia’s eyes lit up. “Can we get allll of them?” She asked, bouncing up and down on his lap. Cassius shook his head fondly. “We don’t want them to run out of stock, Vivi! I’ll buy you three more to keep you entertained for a bit, okay?”
His daughter still seemed ecstatic to hear this, and she stood up in front of him. “Thanks, Dad!”
Cassius smiled softly as Vivia ran off. He loved this girl with all his heart, that was for sure.
***
The next day, Cassius and Vivia were on their way to the bookstore they had been speaking of- Lady Lyra’s Literature Haven. It was a store that had been around for years now- Cassius could vaguely remember coming here when he was a teenager with his few friends that he had at that time.
He smiled wistfully at those memories. He missed those days, sometimes, just hanging out with Luc, Kerry and-
Cassius willed the last names to leave his mind. He didn’t think about those two much anymore. Not after what happened during their Elite Levels…
He forced himself to focus back on Vivia, who was gazing around curiously as they entered the bookstore. He guided his daughter over to the section he had been speaking of yesterday- it was dedicated to fantasy, and there was a small selection of books written about humans and their adventures.
“Look!” Vivia gasped, pointing at one of the covers. “It’s a human!”
Cassius smiled softly, his heart melting at how excited his daughter looked. “Yes,” He nodded. “They don’t always have blue eyes like us, do they?”
Vivia shook her head as she took the book off the shelf. Cassius picked out two more books for her, after skimming through the blurb on the back to make sure they’d be appropriate for a ten-year-old.
Once the selection was finished, Cassius led the bouncing Vivia to the front of the store, where there was a tired-looking woman sitting in front of a desk. Cassius requested to buy the three books, handed the money to the employee and then set off with Vivia.
If only they knew.
***
Cassius had begun walking back to the apartment when he felt Vivia’s hand slip out of his own. He sighed softly as he turned towards his daughter to tell her gently to stay with him, but froze.
Vivia’s mouth was covered by somebody’s hand as she was yanked backwards into one of the many Atlantic alleyways.
Cassius immediately darted after his daughter.
“Get back here,” He snapped. “Don’t-”
He was interrupted by the sight in front of him. Vivia was being held against a person’s chest tightly. The said person was clad in black- a dark cloak, tall boots and long but thin gloves. Cassius couldn’t see the person’s face. Damn addlers, he thought to himself.
“Do. Not. Touch. Her,” He said in a cold voice.
The person chuckled darkly, before speaking. “I don’t think I want to do that,” They whispered. Their voice was distorted and unrecognizable.
“What are you going to do to her?” Cassius demanded. He was hiding his panic and worry for his daughter under a mask of anger.
“Oh, Cassius,” They said Cassius in such a tone that almost made him wonder if he really knew this person.
He didn’t take the time to think and lunged forward, but the cloaked figure sidestepped with another soft laugh. “Oh, Cassius… ever the impulsive one…”
Vivia tried to call out for her father, but her mouth was still being covered and her voice was muffled.
“Don’t you dare-” Cassius tried to say, but once again he was interrupted.
“Silence.”
Cassius tried to speak but found he couldn’t. Then, as if it was against his own will, he was backing away, pressing himself against a wall.
Mesmer, he thought. A Mesmer, just like-
Cassius couldn’t bear to think that it was his old friend that was holding his daughter captive. But the person dropped something and for a flash of a moment Cassius saw a lock of blond hair before the addler was retrieved.
Cassius went deathly pale. No, no, no… This couldn’t be happening, not G-
“I’m going to make her choke herself,” The person whispered. “She’s going to wrap her hand around her throat and she’s going to die a painful, painful death, Cassius…”
“Don’t!” Cassius managed to scream before he was silenced yet again. But he couldn’t let this happen to his darling Vivia- who was looking more freaked out by the moment-. He couldn’t.
It was too late.
Vivia’s eyes widened as she unwillingly raised her hands towards her throat. Her hands wrapped around her small neck and Cassius couldn’t even cry out as she began to squeeze.
Tears fell from Cassius’ eyes, and he couldn’t care enough to stop them. Vivia looked terrified- so, so terrified as she fought against the Mesmer.
Vivia’s face was paling, then it began turning a different colour entirely. It went from ghastly white to pale purple to-
The figure released her mental hold on both Vivia and Cassius just as Vivia’s legs gave out from beneath her. Cassius ran forward, desperate to save his daughter.
“Vivia, Vivi, darling,” He whispered, cradling her head gently. “It’s okay, Dad’s here, you’re going to be safe, okay?”
Vivia’s pale blue eyes blinked up at him one last time before they fluttered closed. She mumbled a faint ‘Dad…’ before she drew in a rattling breath and all was still.
***
Cassius screamed.
It was a sound of pure fury, of grief, of hate.
He buried his face in Vivia’s hair, resisting the urge to shake her. He knew she wouldn’t answer.
“You did this!” Cassius yelled at the figure. “You murdered my daughter!”
The figure just chuckled softly. “You should know better than to get attached to children, my love…”
Then they were gone, disappearing as quickly as Vivia’s life had.
***
After that day, Cassius made a promise to himself.
He wouldn’t let this happen again. He wouldn’t get attached.
He wouldn’t love ever again.

Welcome to Bottomless Heights, where things are not always as they seem...
I thoroughly enjoyed creating these 10 custom resin pins for the players in the Bottomless Heights Toonkind campaign. It was my first time creating pins like these; I learned a lot from the process and I am excited to share them with the world!
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the campaign, even if you didn't get a pin. I can't wait to create this story with you, it's going to be a journey to remember.
Some of the amazing folks include: @megamagma17 @modmad @artist-of-obsessions @fletchier
Process photos below the cut.
3D models created from the SVG versions I made from tracing the original symbol designs (which were not designed by me).
I printed a prototype on my regular printer (about a 12 min print, super quick) to test for size and stability.
Then I put the models in my slicing software for my resin printer and began prepping them to print! I chose resin for a nicer finish, durability, and so I wouldn't have to worry about not sanding in the cracks, since that's almost impossible.
The prints on the bed right after printing and after cleaning in an alcohol bath.
UV light to cure the resin completely.
Sanding. For hours. But worth it!
I hot glue them to toothpicks where I'll be attaching the pin backs and place them in my painting board (which is just an old piece of wood with holes in it). Then I give them a nice few coats of black enamel.
Finally, I give them a nice coating of antique gold Rub 'n Buff (a nice wax finish) and use two part epoxy to glue on the pin backs.
And there you have it! Simple, 3D printed, metallic resin pins. I am in no way an expert and most of this was just me using my combined cosplay fabrication knowledge to whip these out, but I'm still happy with the result and I look forward to making more like this in the future!

Another titlecard dump, featuring a vast number of characters from toonkind d&d haha
You can find all these games on youtube (with the exeption of Golden Hour- I think that one’s recording got busted with no way of retrieving it. But it was still a fun title card and a game full of heart so I’m putting it here anyway)

Alberta Odell Jones
https://www.unadonnalgiorno.it/alberta-odell-jones/

was it wrong of her to doubt his words ? possibly, but she felt she was entitled to after being lied to for the entirety of their relationship. maybe it would've been different if he'd been upfront from the beginning, maybe it wouldn't. he had never given her a chance to make that choice, instead allowing viviènne to fall for someone she later found out she knew nothing about. yet, despite all of it, she could not bring herself to be as hard on him as she'd imagined she would in case this reunion happened. “ as long as you mean it… hope it works out for you. ” she did, it was a fact. there's only a certain level of disdain heartache can bring her to; wishing misfortune on someone was many levels above her max. “ i dont- ” she sighed, unsure of how to proceed. “ see how that's possible. ” wasn't the way that phrase ended when she first started it, instead a much nicer version of it. the sentiment real, however: they'd likely run into each other far more often if actively trying to avoid it. it's just the way the world operates. “ i guess it is. this is actually my second one. i, uh, have one already. in france. ” as he likely would remember her dreaming aloud about. it was back when she first started allowing herself to dream about these things too.
guilt plagues him for many things, more so the ones people wouldn't expect rather than the more obvious wrongs in his life. how things were left with her may very well be one of his biggest regrets. it was never his intention to lie, for things to end so dramatically. he'd had all good intentions, a glimmer of hope — life, on the other hand, held a different plan for him. cassius let's out a slow breath, shoulders shrugging. " i don't know, life on the straight and narrow, i guess. i found some legit work in construction. just taking it day by day. " and while things are going good and he hopes it stays that way, there will forever be doubt in his mind, a voice telling him that he isn't cut out for this, that he was always destined to stay in the dirt he'd been born in. her words cut deep, and he nods, gaze diverted. " fair enough. i'll keep it in mind for next time we run into each other, unless you'd rather i stay as far away from you as possible. " difficult in a town where running into someone seems to common, but if it's something that will make her feel more comfortable, he's willing to try. when she tells him her reasons for being here, something a lot like pride flashes in his gaze, gone as quick as it comes. " yeah ? that's a pretty big deal, " a pause, brief, tries to think of the right words to say because he's sick of messing everything up, " i hope it all works out. but if you're behind it, i've no doubt it will. TW: death, suicide
i dont really like this but oh well
(also! im not justifying cassius' actions, this was just a little thing i wrote :3)
Their voice was weirdly distorted, but it had an ever so familiar touch that Cassius couldn’t quite recognise.
After that day, Cassius made a promise to himself.
He wouldn’t let this happen again. He wouldn’t get attached.
He wouldn’t love ever again.

of course he did. everyone lived in palmview at this point, she figured. the entire world population all in one town. she smiled tightly, nodding her head because she had no idea how else to reply. but, thankfully, the words he used to complement his answer gave her something to say back. “ define fresh start. ” probably not the best thing to say in that situation but, in moments like these, viviènne lost any sort of filter she might have stopping her from saying the wrong things at the wrong time and words just came out. the situation could only get worse when he decided moving closer was a good idea. she didn't. looking from the ground where he took a step to his face and then blinking rapidly. “ the elephant. ” she stated. “ you're stepping on him. ” oh, god, she sounded like a child. “ yeah, well, that's only doable if we're far away from each other. you can't talk to me and expect me to act like i don't know you. especially after what happened. ” because she had never been very good at masking her feelings and, fuck, did she have a lot of those when it came to this situation. “ yeah. i guess. opening a restaurant here. ” what she didn't know was why she was telling him that.
he's not good at this — he never has been. despite his chequered past, he's reserved by nature. stoic. doesn't always know the right thing to say unless he's scribbling it down onto letters FOREVER UNSENT. it often appears to people that he doesn't care, that he's indifferent, but the truth couldn't be more opposite. in fact, most of his wrongs had been the cause of him trying to do right, in his own way, for the people he cared for. " i live here now, " he responds, gaze faltering for a moment before his eyes lock onto hers, a sweep of familiarity washing over him. he'd never been worthy of her time, that he's always know. is reminded of it now as he soaks up how beautiful she has, and always appears to be. " kind of meant to be a fresh start, i guess, " cassius shrugs before hands are stuffed into pockets, and he's taking a step closer, hesitant in case she'd rather he stayed far away. " i'll be honest, v, wasn't exactly sure if you'd want me to address it. the way we left things, i figured you'd rather forget i was ever someone you knew. " and she still might after this conversation. " you're in palmview now ? is that for a work thing, or . . . ? " it dawns on him then, that they'll likely be seeing more of one another. only makes him hope this conversation doesn't take a turn for THE WORST.
