’Twas a funny day today! :D This morning, I woke up from the weirdest dream. I was living in a dormitory somewhere in Japan and a friend was visiting my room, then we realized that the ceiling was coming down. We walked outside (somehow we were so calm) and heard that something big crashed on the roof. I couldn’t see what it was but soon the whole building collapsed, burying rescue workers and media reporters. But my friend was facing the other way and kept joking with someone... Gee, I was so happy when I woke up! :( At 8 am, a friend of mine and I met up to clean the small public toilet in the mountains. I definitely wanted to hang the laundry before leaving home, so I was late for like 10 minutes, which wasn’t a big deal at that point. 今日はオカシな日でしたワ。ｗｗそもそも、朝起きる前の夢が可笑しかった。私が寮みたいなトコに住んでて、友達が部屋に来てた時、天井がどんどん下がって来た。外に出て、屋根に何かデカいものが墜落したらしいと聞く。それが何か見えなかったけど、見てるうちに建物全体が崩れ落ち、救助の人やTVのレポーターが下敷きに。で、パニクった私が大変だとわめくのに、友人は違う方向を向いて誰かと冗談言ってるばかりで...。そこで目が覚めて、ああ夢でよかったと。で、今日は8時に待ち合わせ、例の山の中のトイレの掃除当番に。でもどーしても洗濯物を干してから出たかったので、私10分ほど遅れる。が、まだその時点では、遅れることはたいしたことじゃないと思われていた...。

But then on our way to the toilet, we saw many construction guys on the road. The sign there said that the road was going to be closed for paving work. We begged and they let us drive through, but we were told to come back in about an hour. Now we HAD TO hurry! There were many stones on the road from the heavy rain the other day. We were worried about getting a flat tire but we couldn’t slow down. We got there, cleaned the toilet as fast as possible, then drove back like Formula one driver! LOL が、山のトイレに向かう道の途中に、道路工事の人々が。看板には舗装工事で通行止めの旨が。ゲー！行ったら帰りに通行止めにひっかかって帰れないのでは？？？とにかく事情を言って通らせてもらったけど、1時間くらいで帰ってきて工事開始前に通り抜けるようにと。さぁそこからは本気で急いだ！またよりによって先日の豪雨で、道に石がゴロゴロ。パンクの恐怖におびえつつも、急いで運転・超特急で掃除・大急ぎで帰りの運転と、(私は乗ってるだけで運転はもう一人の人におまかせでしたが）たぶんトイレ掃除の所要時間最短記録を樹立したね。間違いなく。ｗｗ　帰りには、工事のおっちゃん達に、車の窓から満面の笑みで挨拶しながら、無事通らせてもらえました。

After the hectic work, I rewarded myself with my favorite hobby: fishing. ;) Caught two 24 cm marble rockfish! THAT really made my day. :D そんなバタバタの後は、自分の一番好きな趣味の時間で癒されようと、釣りに。^^）24㎝のガッシー君を2匹とは、悪くない。^^)💕 And when I came home, I found a burnt pot in the kitchen waiting for me. OMG, it was me...! This morning, I wanted to re-heat black tea in a pot while hanging the laundry. And I totally forgot about it and left home in a hurry ... AHHHHHH!!!

で、家に帰ってみると、台所に空焚きで底が焦げた鍋が待ってました。あー！ワタシ今朝、紅茶を鍋で温める間に洗濯物を干して、干し終わったらお茶の事完全に忘れてそのままトイレ掃除に出発したんだ...！！！orz

Anyway, the fish turned into this Chinese-inspired dish: deep-fried marble rockfish with sweet ‘n sour sauce. It was the main dish of our dinner tonight and everyone loved it. ともあれ、ガッシー君たちは、今夜のメインのおかずになりました。ガシラ（カサゴ）唐揚げ甘酢あんかけ。両親も喜んで食べてました。

My dessert was one thick slice of this orange drizzle cake I baked last night. This time I used Ban-oh kan orange which is a type of pomelo (I heard). It is much more juicy than ponkan orange and has refreshing sourness. I like this version of orange drizzle cake than ponkan orange version. Enjoying this dessert with a nice cup of tea was the best way to end this funny day, after all. ;) デザートには、昨夜親が寝た後で焼いといた、晩王柑を使ったオレンジ・ドリズル・ケーキを一切れ。晩王柑という柑橘は、文旦の自然雑種だそうで。コレを植えてるみかん農家というのはほぼ無いらしい。そう思��と、ウチには晩王柑が2本ある上に小林柑もあるというのは、じいちゃんよっぽどいろんな種類を網羅したかったんだなぁ...。晩王柑は、ポンカンよりずっと果汁が多く少し酸味があるので、ケーキに爽やかさが加わって美味しい。私はポンカンバージョンよりも、こちらがずっと気に入りました。💕 このケーキと紅茶をゆっくり楽しむのが、このオカシイ一日の最後の締めくくりとなりました。終わりよければすべてヨシ。^^）

GS4 vs AJ:AA - Episode 2, Part 5

Here’s the last court segment of this episode! It’s also relatively shorter than the usual posts, but there’s a lot of dialogue I captured for context, so it doesn’t look shorter. There’s not too much deviation between the source and localized after we covered all the changes made to the Kitaki’s previously.

For once I started earlier today and got through it pretty quickly, but for the sake of a consistent posting schedule, I’ll stick with around midnight PST every other day or so. Seems like the best rhythm for me that I can keep up with.

<Trucy> いよいよ、ですね！ゆうべはよく眠れましたか？ This is it, the big day! Did you get any sleep?

<Apollo> あ。うん。ゆうべ、１時にはフトンに入ったから。 Yeah, I went to bed at 1:00 AM or so.

<Trucy> で？　今日は何時に起きたんですか？ Oh? What time did you wake up?

<Apollo> 午前３時、かな。 ...3:00 AM.

<Trucy> ‥‥ゼンゼン眠れてませんね。 That's only two hours, Apollo...

でも、大丈夫。みぬきがついてるし。 But, at least you have me!

<Trucy> ボウシくんだって、いつも見てますよ。 ...And the Amazing Mr. Hat!

<Mr. Hat> いつも見てますよ、キミ。 Here's looking at you, kid.

I commented previously that Apollo questioned their father-daughter relationship and legitimately forgot that he also says this, and this time it does match what he originally said. So, my bad.

Also, Naruhodou describes her as "キモっ玉" (kimottama), meaning she got "guts" or "pluck" to her. I appreciate the "Sherman tank", though.

<Judge> 少なくとも、ハッキリわかったことは‥‥ We did find out one thing for certain.

事件が起こったとき。やはり公園には、被告人と被害者、 There were three people in the park at the time of the murder:

あのザンネンな事件を、外側から見てみようと思ってるんだ。 I'd like to look at this horrible crime... from the outside.

<Apollo> “ソトガワ”‥‥ですか？ The "outside"...?

<Klavier> “凶器の入手経路”‥‥ “犯行準備”‥‥ The acquisition of the murder weapon... The preparation for the act...

被告人クン。ウカツにもゼンブ、しゃべっていたんだよ。 Our poor defendant told all, you see.

‥‥フィアンセにね。 ...To his betrothed.

<Judge> ふぃあんせ‥‥？ His... bee trove?

<Klavier> ‥‥婚約者さ。人生の共犯者ってヤツかな。 ...His fiancée, Herr Judge. His partner for life... with no chance for parole.

<Judge> それでは、その‥‥ いいなずけを入廷させてください！ Very well, you may show the erm... "lucky" lady to the stand.

Once again, the judge struggles with words outside of his language, and Kyouya, being the resident English expert, has to explain. That being said, "bee trove" is suspiciously apt as a metaphor to describe her...

<Klavier> ‥‥それじゃ、キミ。名前と、職業を。 ...Your name and occupation, Fräulein.

<Alita> 並奈　美波と申します。今は、花嫁修行中というか‥‥ Alita Tiala. My occupation... is future wife.

<Judge> ふむう‥‥ いいココロがけです。 Ah, traditional values! I respect that.

最近は、温泉タマゴすら作れないムスメさんも多いですからな。 Too many brides these days can't even weave baskets blindfolded... underwater.

しかし‥‥今日は、検察側の証人として出廷したわけですな？ Yet you're here today as a witness for the prosecution?

<Alita> わたし‥‥最初は、証言したくありませんでした。 To be honest, I didn't want to testify at first.

でも、やっぱり。かくしておくことはできなくて。 But... I couldn't hide the truth.

<Judge> ふむう‥‥やはり、リッパなココロがけです。 Hmm. Honesty! Another admirable trait.

Originally, his "underwater blindfolded basket weaving" standards were about soft-boiling eggs so that the yolk hardens while the white remains soft. They're called "onsen tamago" because these eggs were traditionally cooked in a hot spring, but can be cooked in any ol' pot between 70-80°C (158-176°F). It's one of those old-timey signs that a soon-to-be-wed would be a good wife because she could cook. Now, the only time I'd ever see these eggs is when I don't boil them hotly enough.

On that note, nowadays there are underwater basket weaving Olympics. Thanks, Rio 2016. Maybe Tokyo 2020 (2021?) could include a special event category for egg-boiling.

<Alita> たしかに、“おぼっちゃん”なトコロはあったかもしれません。 Well, maybe he is a bit spoiled...

誕生日に、スゴいプレゼントをもらったって話もきいてるし。 I hear he got amazing presents for his birthdays.

ガムでできた“ドス”とか、チョコレートの“花札”とか。 Last year was a switchblade made out of chewing gum and a chocolate gravestone!

<Apollo> （アブナイものが好きなのか、　アマいものが好きなのか‥‥） (Sounds like he has a taste for sweets... and danger.)

Originally, they were a rubber dosu and a chocolate hanafuda card. Danger AND gambling, but the kid-friendly kind!

Though, I can accept "chewing-gum switchblade" here because "ガム" (gamu) can also mean that kind of gum or the gum material of rubber.

<Judge> ちょっと待ちなさい！ Ms. Tiala!

あなたは“被害者とはなんの関係もない”と証言しています！ You testified that you had no connection to the victim!

（キタキツネ一家にヨメ入りしよう　とするだけのコトはあるな） (She probably feels right at home with the Kitakis!)

Fyi, the judge responded here because she called them all out, not just the defense.

And yep, here it is again: "キモっ玉". So, a Sherman-tank mom and a tough-nut fiancée; no wonder she fits right in. (I still think "bee trove" is more apt, though.)

Look, guys, the JP script does have English letters and it has them for a good reason. Kudos to the loc team for that most excellent reference too.

I think I'd prefer if Klavier here used a sound-based metaphor given how his entire character design is based on music. In the JP, he also used a sound metaphor: "It seems... we now hear your true voice, young lady."

Granted, "honne" also just means "true nature", but I like the hidden pun there.

Odoroki suddenly dropping in Kansai accent out of the blue caught me off-guard. (It's his last line here.) Man was so devastated by that double penalty he got sent out west.

10/21/20 edit: Whoops, my bad. That wasn’t Kansai accent and wouldn’t have made sense if it was. He’s just sighing to himself, really, and I mistook that last ‘ya’ as a copula.

この証人に、宇狩院長を殺害する動機とチャンスがあったことを。 The witness had both a motive and an opportunity to kill Dr. Meraktis.

<Alita> そんな不条理な“逆転”‥‥ おとぎ話でもお目にかかれないわね。 More fairy tales! This whole trial is a fairy tale!

<Judge> 最後に、一度だけ。あなたに説明のチャンスを与えます。 Then please, pull us back down to reality, Ms. Tiala.

証言をおねがいしましょう。 I'm giving you one last chance to explain yourself.

Her last line here: "An absurd 'turnabout' like that... wouldn't even be seen in fairy tales!"

Originally, she suggested "Cockroach", which iirc is a playground game with a mix of "Hide'n'Seek" and "Tag". For some reason, I'm struggling to find a source online for this, but I swear I remember looking it up before...

10/21/20 edit: Welp, I guess I was overthinking it. She just asks him if he spotted something icky like a cockroach.

The first time I played this part, I found it a lot funnier than I should have because I thought Apollo was screaming about how his forehead was so "glaring".

Not just a pie shop; all the sweets you could find, with their specialty "Kitakitsune Wafer"! Technically, it's monaka, which is a wafer cake usually filled with asuki bean jam. It's also among the things you can see in the credits (exclusive to the JP version, anyway) when we see this happy family again.

My ‘sweetest’ Favorite 2019

メモはしっかり。

5月がはじまりましたね。

ブログはお久しぶりです。何を書こうかと、普段書き留めているメモをみたところ、

・たつ

・自分の上に置いたら自分のもの

・なる代用

・オフ会←→オン会！？

などなど…

なんのこっちゃ分からないです。

なので、最近のこと。

最近のライブではカバー曲やら昔の曲やら交えて最近はライブをしてみています。

カバーは「元年。」というイベントだったら平成元年のヒット曲、とか unconditional loveさんの企画イベントだったら「unconditional love」という曲、とか (この曲が名前の由来だったと当日ステージ上で知ってビックリ！)

その日ならではの曲を選んでみたりしています。

次のライブはなんの曲でしょうう…？

そして最近ZINEという手作り季刊誌を作りました。

ZINEとは個人で作った冊子や本のことで Magazineが語源とのこと。

フィルムカメラだったりiphoneだったり一眼レフだったりで撮った写真や絵や雑記などを載せています。今回は「春」をテーマに。

このZINEを入手してもらうと読みながら聴ける、ちょっとした朗読や曲の音楽もついてきます。これも春をイメージして作りました。

ちょっと一息つけるようなそんな時間になったらいいなと思っています。

作ってみると気づくことがたくさんあってもうすぐに次のが作りたい気持ちです。

ライブ会場にて販売中です。

そしてもうひとつ新しいグッズも登場予定です。うふふ。

この前シールドを初めて手作りしてみたりと色んなものを作るモードです。

次は何を作ろうかな。

そして次のライブももうすぐ！ 10年ほどお世話になっているハグてっぺいさんのイベントハグロックフェスティバル2018GW！です。今回も渋谷宇田川町界隈全11会場で同時開催！ 1日中女性シンガー見放題です。色んな会場ハシゴするもよし、ひとところに留まるもよしたまに休憩するもよし！

でも18:30には是非、渋谷gee-ge.でお待ちしています。笑

木曜担当のシュンです。先日は『InfinitySense』にお越しいただいた皆様、ありがとうございました！先週は出張等でブログを書く時間がなく、「Kouichi」さんにお願いしておりました。すみません。。。また、先週の土曜日（5/26）に渋谷の「Gee-Ge」で 2Step/UK Garage/Grimeなど、UKジャンルに特化したイベント『Brandy&Coke』を開催しました。東京在住のイギリス人の方が遊びに来てくれて、久しぶりに“UK Vibes”を感じました。【Brandy&Coke at Shibuya Gee-Ge 20180526】

さて、前回の投稿ではダイエットに関して説明させて頂きました。今回は具体的にどのような取り組みをしているかを説明出来ればと思います。現在、自分の目標摂取カロリーは1690kcalとなります。ちなみに男性ですとだいたい2500kcal前後と言われてます。なので、具体的に何を食べて、1690kcalに抑えているかを説明します。

朝食：ミューズリー（60g）イチゴ（63g）ゼロ脂肪ヨーグルト（100g）ホエイプロテイン（25g）計371kcal 昼食：パスタ（80g）ブロッコリー（100g）鶏むね肉（250g）計624kcal 夕食：塩サバ（1切れ）ブロッコリー（100g）木綿豆腐（一丁）ひじき（200g）計568kcal 間食：プロテインバー（一本）ブラックコーヒー（2杯）サプリなど計224kcal 総カロリー: 1787kcal

ちょっとオーバーしているかと思われますが、運動等などの消費カロリーも含めると実はマイナスカロリーになってました。また、マクロ栄養素は以下の通りとなります。

これを1ヵ月ぐらい継続した事によって、4kgぐらい体重が減りました。。。が！同時に腕の筋肉がめっちゃ減りました（涙）何故かというと筋肉を保つには炭水化物も必要となります。（これを筋グリコーゲンと言います）もし、十分な炭水化物を摂取しないと体内の酵素が筋肉を分解して、エネルギーに変えてしまうのです。そのため、今は現在の体重を維持できるような摂取カロリーを設定して（1920kcal）筋トレを継続しようと考えております。また、ジムに行くときには少し炭水化物を多めに取るようにしてます。次回は消費カロリーに関して少し、お話出来ればと思います。

そして、今回は全く関連ない「Off Me Nut Records」を紹介しようと思います。（持ちネタを既に使い果たしてしまいました） Off Me Nut RecordsはイギリスのSheffieldのレーベルとなります。 Sheffield出身のアーティストには「Warp Records」のボス「Aphex Twin」や、バンドで言えば「Arctic Monkeys」などが該当します。 Off Me Nut Recordsは「Phatworld」と言うDuoが立ち上げて、主にBasslineやJungleなどのUKジャンルをメインにリリースしています。 “Bassline”をご存知ではない方か多いかと思いますが、早い四つ打ちと考えてください。実は自分がSheffield大学にいた時に「Phatworld」が経営していたスタジオで練習してました。昔、鉄を作る工場だったのですが、改築してスタジオにしたのらしいです。おすすめアーティストは「Phatworld」に加えて「Kid Lib」もおすすめです。 BasslineやJungleは北イギリス（東北みたいな感じですかね）でよく聞くサウンドなので、興味がある方はSoundcloudなどをチェックしてください！「Squire of Gothos (Phatworld) / Glove Glove Hat Hood feat. Project Opuntia -8 More Heads Are Better than One?/ Project ウチワサボテン-8- 3人以上寄ればもっと文殊の知恵が？

We skipped October because most members were too busy with other commitments. And last Sunday (Nov. 28th), we started again with the fun custom of lunch on the beach. Yes, now it’s cool enough to eat bento in the sun.

10月はメンバーが忙しくて来られない人が多く、駆除活動はお休みに。そして先週日曜（11月28日）、久々に浜弁当も込みで、再スタートしました。

This time, we had several volunteer helpers from outside of Muroto. They were a staff of prefectural botanical garden, a Kochi Univ. student, and two teachers with 3 students from Kochi Univ. of Tech. 今回は外部からボランティア参加してくれた人々が！牧野植物園のスタッフさんや、高知市内の大学の先生や生徒さんが、この刺激的な（w）駆除活動の助っ人に来てくれたんです。^^）

Most of Conservation Team members were busy in the morning, helping with the search of a parasitic plant, thus there was no panda rice balls or tasty sandwich for lunch this time. But one member kindly made nice dessert for everyone, which was very, very appreciated.

この日は「まもるチーム」のほとんどのメンバーが、午前中はヤッコソウという寄生植物の探索のお手伝いで忙しく、お昼の弁当に以前のようなパンダおにぎりや豪華なサンドイッチを作る余裕はなくて、各自弁当持参だったんですが。それでもメンバーの一人が、親切にもデザートを皆の分作って来てくれて、一同大感謝！！^▽^

After lunch, we walked further to the east and got to where we harvested young stems to sell as pet feed one year ago (Nov. 30, 2020). 昼食後、満腹で動きの鈍くなった体に鞭打って、更に遊歩道を東に。ちょうど1年前に、カメの飼料用の茎を採集した場所に来ました。

And there we saw... !! @@ そこで見た光景というのが... ！！

OMG!! A panoramic view of this spot must have better conveyed how we felt being there. We felt as if we were on a different planet, Planet of Cactus. And walking on this trail, we thought the opuntia was trying to attack us from both sides. Really. っっどぁ～～！！！＠＠これパノラマ写真だったらもっとこの凄さが伝わったかも。この光景の中に佇むと、まるでサボテンの惑星にでも来たか？！という感覚に打たれることしばし。遊歩道を歩いてると、両側からサボテンが襲って来てる感アリアリです。

It was just too much to handle, even with the extra hands we had that day. We thought that the best we could was only trimming the parts too close to or covering the trail. とにかく、駆除対象があまりに多すぎ！たとえ外部からのボランティアで普段より人手が多くても。もうこの日に出来るのは、遊歩道に近づきすぎ、または実際に遊歩道に入り込んできてる部分だけを駆除するので精一杯だなということになり、それに専念しました。

The teacher from the KUT was shooting our effort with a drone, which added to the Si-Fi like atmosphere. LOL 大学の先生は、この活動をドローンで空撮しておられて。なんかブーンって音が近いなと思って、ふと見上げたら、ウチワサボテンの上にぽっかりドローンがホバリングしてるって光景が、ますますＳＦチックな感じでした。ｗ

Usually, we remove about 15 bagful of opuntia one time. But this time, thanks to the extra helping hands, we filled more than 20 bags with removed opuntia stems. (The photo above shows the first batch brought back from the trail. We had to make two trips after all to bring all the bags here.)

普通、1回でだいたい15袋くらい駆除するのですが。今回は人手が多かったおかげで、最終的に20袋をゆうに超える駆除量になってました。（この写真は第1便で帰って来た分だけ。結局2回に分けて運搬してきたので。） Gee. Opuntia grows and spreads so fast! We’ve heard that but now we really understand that. We sure need to find other ways to consume opuntia stems in addition to pet feed. Mmmmmm.... いやぁウチワサボテン、増えますわ。早いですわ。そうだとは聞いてたけど、今本当に実感。これはペットの飼料以外の消費の方法、頑張って見つけたいトコですねー。

While cutting opuntia stems, I heard one KUT student talking to herself, “The slimy opuntia ooze... Wouldn’t it make something like resin or plastic if mixed with something...?”

Yeah, wouldn’t there be such possibilities? I truly appreciate an idea like this. Maybe, if we stay flexible and keep our eyes and ears open, can we come up with an excellent idea?... like this? 作業をしてる間に、大学生がふと独り言のように言ってるのが聞こえました。「ウチワサボテンのぬめぬめって...。何か加えたら、なんか樹脂（ゴム？）っぽいとかプラスチックっぽいものできないんかな...。」そう、そういう発想！私たち、いろんな人のアイディアやひらめきに対して、頭を柔らかくしてアンテナ敏感にして、そういういろんな可能性を探っていかなくちゃウソですよ。だってこんなにあるんですもん、ウチワサボテン...。

そして、既に世界では、こんな方向にもいってるのだから。
