It's difficult to place Edgeworth's sexuality, but I'd say he's somewhere between demisexual and homosexual. It's a running joke in the games that he is not interested in women at all. But he also displays a lot of traits indicative of being aspec.

So.. Why not both? It's not that he doesn't desire intimacy - he simply requires a bit more patience from any prospective partners. You have to earn those "unnecessary feelings" from him.
