As the antiseptic medicine wrapped in a towel presses against her scarred leg, the mysterious masked girl feels a stinging sensation, as if millions of leeches with sharp fangs are attacking her, and she desperately wants to scream out loud to express the intense pain she's experiencing, but she fears that if she shows weakness, her tough image, built on the town's guesses, will be shattered, and Ava will see her as a fragile child, crying over minor cuts on her hands. She clutches her blanket and breathes heavily, her head sweating profusely behind her mask as she struggles to maintain her composure, both physically and emotionally. “From that point, you know the feeling of helping… ohh… others come at a price as well. Ow… you've done this before.” She groans in pain. She's willing to admit that she initially thought Ava was secretly more of a doctor than an angry person, unlike her previous assumption.
She can finally sigh in relief, recalling the alien with pyrokinetic powers' words about the stitches needed for her operation, as she gazes at her face. “You mean it's happening in real life? I thought it worked only for horror movies.”
It's surprising that Ava is willing to help her with her wounds, despite not knowing Hesper well. The thief's main strategy is to remain unseen and avoid forming attachments, so it's best not to try to befriend them. “In that case, you can try to use your hocus-pocus, first lesson of medical practice.” Hesper hesitated, then let her perform the magic, revealing her wounded leg, which had been cut by sharp blades. She quickly covered the blood with bandages, thinking logically that she needed to get it fixed quickly so she could escape the guards, preferably by kicking them in the noses.
“Hm. I can imagine it’s coming up as the first session,” Hesper said sarcastically, knowing it would be as painful as medicine to blazing wounds. “Well, let’s get it over with. I have things to look forward to tomorrow.”

Whenever he gave her an annoyed look, it was her cue to sit up straight, knowing he wasn't going to listen to her, his mind solely focused on his work without proper attention. It's revealing how he's been a workaholic, like Robin, which she's unaware of, but having a daily routine is better than taking a break from him. It's going to be quite troubled if he gets full of attention due to the council's decision, which bars her lawyer, Mr. Hawkes. As smart as he's always been, the writer couldn't help but worry about the impact of more than three days of work on both his physical and mental health.
That being said, she raises an eyebrow, knowing he doesn't mean to mock her language, and is lucky he's still her best friend; otherwise, she would take it as mockery. “That’s a natural response,” she said sarcastically to her crippled friend. Despite receiving little response, she remained focused on him and his life's work; even if someone tried to speak a few words in their native language to him, it would be best if he didn't understand what she was saying.
It would have been better to know his plans after the project's completion, but she cannot change her mind about his decision to keep working, as it may take longer than expected, and he might appear tired and frazzled at the council meeting. “Yes, but how long does it take? For all I know, you will be extremely tired even on your biggest day, and I won’t be there to help you out.” The writer is preoccupied with the thought of wanting to splash water on him to wake him up, ensuring he grasps her point.
Robin sighed in frustration, thinking that his tiredness had warped his mind, leading him to bluntly tell her that her appearance was part of the distraction, which she felt was a result of not liking her company. She's really glad she learned how to handle her anger a long time ago, which helps her deal with her current annoyance. “I know, but there’s a difference between determination and persistence. Every time the clock slows down, you struggle to think about your work, and you don’t respond to what’s going to happen to you. Hell, you don’t even have time to rest up.” She could’ve gotten a hand mirror, but her mind tells her he’s too stubborn to see himself, only focused on the projects he has been working on for days. Not even humans with big brains are that capable of managing huge tasks within months.
She places her umbrella by Viktor's work table and pats his shoulder gently. “I don't want to keep them hesitating, but I've been told that rushing or overthinking plans can be detrimental; instead, you need to collect yourself and focus on what you can do to make things work.”
Robin made a slight frustrated sigh and rubbed between her eyes after taking her small specs; she never thought he could be this stubborn at the time for his science work. Every work he has to do more than he usually goes out to walk and talk with her; less time he's taking his time to rest up thanks to the council's impudent decision to come up with the fact he's one of the brilliant minds in Piltover, probably even more than Robin even if she doesn't want to say it out loud. As busy as he is, she wouldn't want him gone through with his multiple days of being tired and not taking a time to rethink his thoughts as far as she concerns himself as his colleague friend.
"It might be true but," She sits right next to him with the other chair she found on the table where his other papers might be, "things out there aren't always what it meant to be as stressful as you might think about; it's… well, stressing your mind without thought of resting. Look, I'm asking you as amigo." She couldn't think otherwise but to convince him to take a small breathing space and visit her like they used to.
“Not until you get some rest as well.”

@detectivesteamo said: “it's not as bad as i thought it would be, that's for sure.” (Hesper) PROMPTS FOR PATCHING UP WOUNDS
"It's still something to be worried about..." Knowing basic first aid was important, and a skill that Ava did try to keep up with as best she could to make sure that anyone else she was around could be taken care of. Her magic only did so much, and often only worked on certain wounds.
"This might sting a little, so... Buckle up, I guess?"

How’s that long for her to know about Ekko’s having new friends and his first best friend, and that’s nothing she knows about despite being trained to know every place? It’s come to show that being a mysterious protector made things possible for everyone in this city, very busy in those days. It’s much more than when she was a young girl when she first met Ekko during a time when she was performing her musical arts while secretly stealing the gold from wealthy men. It might be trashy to talk about it, but at least Ekko has his ways that made her befriend him without need to steal his money.
Just how does he even do that? Being nice to a young thief that causes her to ironically skip the heist upon his home? Maybe it’s coming along with the fact she’s not cut out for being one who stalks the night? No, it’s coming along without her being the one who would stoop this low and who would manipulate the boy with gentleness in his heart and mind equal to top scientists. Maybe he’s got to learn how to communicate with others with charms hidden under her dusty clothes, making him the only youngest mentor she can see yet proud of his hidden powers, helping others in return.
Maybe it has come to this point when she’s told him she’s also known to be Lady of the Night Sea, Hesper, knowing it’s going to change since she’s not going to be on his side often and all she's going to do is... celebrate the birthday party for her longtime friend, who coincidentally was reminded by his other friend.
She almost loses focus on what matters most, which is to talk with Akali and hear her thoughts about planning to celebrate both of their best friend's birthday, as she turns around to pay attention, her brow raising. Oh, is that so? Girl, I haven't a doubt that your own ideas are as great as my own.” She may not be able to talk sense, but it's the way she loves herself
“Oh yeah, now memories are coming back to me. You mentioned it just for a second, and yes, it’s so true – I do know the way to places for the birthday.” She smiled, almost like Akali giving the musician some compliments, maybe it’s not some kind of trick Ekko would pull on her, wasting her night work as Hesper. Finally, giving a new conversation a chance to see what she has. “Ah, but there’s sometimes they can be all night, and they deserve to be paid for their hard work, just like a great night pizza recipe. If we both find the right place, we can find a good birthday dinner for our smarty pants, ehh?” She nudged her arm, thanking her for giving her the idea, which combined with Akali’s own idea.
The words coming from Akali almost bring the same papers as Ekko when they are making little pranks, and the friendship? It made her feel so taken aback that she couldn’t think of anything to say, but then she blurted out, 'Huh, you just made a relevant point there. Should I bring a lightbulb on our heads like our tangled friend there?! Whooo!' She let out a loud shout in the night and laughed a few seconds later, knowing it could be a great way to make a new friend, aside from Ekko.
As a skilled cook, she tracks down the best meal, even though he, a navigator, is searching for a special restaurant to celebrate his birthday. She criticizes them, which makes a gagged sound, implying it might not be good enough. “One piece of advice is to find good, clean materials that require minimal repair when it comes to building technology.” She often begins with a joke, but stops when she finds something that feels right to the touch. "Ooh? I can smell something delicious! Follow me!" She ran ahead, dashing along as if she were in a car.
She nods. "Let's just say it would be bad if someone else besides Ekko would have nuts as killing little food in their cakes, if you know what I'm getting at." It's almost as crazy as she thought of, but she wouldn't want to test it out on people if anything comes out as contagious to them other than cats. Unless anyone is truly a piece of dirt who loves to make anyone miserable. "And there we have this list checkup!" She patted her shoulder and made a small smirk like she got it planned out like a cake delivery.
Only to have one piece missing from her strategic plan cause her to frown afterwards. "Wait, he's not? I usually thought he'd like to be alone at this time period. Err… no pun intended." She waved her hands. It just been so long since she's separated from his side, despite they still being best friends. Building big houses of different paths and having a time machine of his can make his life simpler and better than her still-thievery goals. Might ask him when his birthday party starts… maybe not.
Much of her slight relief, though—it's how he's still a homeboy—proves that she never loses touch of his side. "Whew… I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah! The restaurant is likely a better option to build the big surprise party than in his house, as it can be less surprise and more of a delivery service, not to mention that he'll likely be coming back to his home with his gimmicks to work on everything he sees." She whispers to her ear, keeping a secret from anyone who might be a spy.
And thanks to having Akali on her side and none of the spies who would spoil the birthday surprise for Ekko they befriended with, it's coming out as planned and will be more than a tunnel-visioned version, and damn, she's loving where the plot thickens. "Well, it's a great suggestion, purple-hair stranger! But I say when we go to the junkyard you told me about." She places her fist on her hip and looks up in the air for a few seconds as she starts to think… "Okay, lets go!" She stops her trance and heads way to find this certain place; she never asks Akali where they should go, whistling in a in a happy tone.

No one knows what to think about this new conversation, but it seems like the aliens are having their usual frustrated feelings towards the musician, and Jack feels like she'll get punched in the stomach, which she secretly proves by rubbing her own stomach. Or is it more about us discussing than leading the argument? The big problem is like 100 years old or so; fixing this issue that big competition is something I thought of rewriting the whole thing is almost impossible in different directions.”
She continues on with this conversation, lift her leg on top of her other leg. “It’s like cats and foxes are different, yet they’re both predators loved by people in towns! Then again, it’s how we are like small predators without knowing it. Hmm. Oh, you give me the idea for this song!” Jack excitedly writing her paper down keeps talking about how it might be relevant to this conversation, never actually knowing why an alien is talking about boundaries.
Then she stops her songwriting practice, looking up at her when it's clear she has heard it from before. It's nothing, just as she expected, how they can form a friendship. To Jack, it's not about the ground rules; it's about how she views this one-armed teenager, who's weird and irregular enough to handle the facts such as being around someone who might be more loved and special, not even as a potentially popular musician. Sure, not a spoiled brat, but it’s how people view her as one of greatest while other is weak.
She sighs, bringing back her goofy smile as she tries to learn facts from Ava, who's talking to her in the same room; being Hesper is much easier than talking to someone who might despise her, like others. “Well, if you don’t want me to do all that, you gotta ask me if I going to play you a song or music like this!” She began placing guitar to see this is around to this rule, singing how to make the campfire with nutcracker dancing around.
Jack yawns in front of her cup of root beer; being all night takes a toll on her mind as she tries to keep up. Yet she goes on being a musical genius, remembering this day with a new long day without any delay... But as she turns around to get her music notes, there's the same person she’s talking to, and it does look like Ava’s giving her pepper spray.
“Oh hey, Avie, how are you… ooh, it’s that look could kill a bear.” Nonetheless she lifts her bandana on her head further. “What’s the ground rules? Me giving your food little more salt? Ah, I knew that you didn’t like it, food is meant for designing and don’t need to be silence of how good or bad it is.” She smiled, sits on her chair.

Arms cross, with the alien leveling a deadpan stare across the way at Jack. She's not quite sure what she wants to say, but she knows she probably should if either of them want to be able to be around each other without.
"We have to talk. Lay down some ground rules."

At least Rin doesn’t take it as creepy nor offended over that silliness she made; it’s still something she could practice on her own communication skills as she clears her throat.
“Pfft, no problem. It’s something I could make for this new potential customer standing in front of me, a potential chef who made this grilled hot dog.” She secretly sees his tufted tail; she never expected he’s a human with slight beast traits on his side, so she thinks he’s going to tear her apart as payback for the way she just talked to him like that, but... his smile can be proof that he’s likely meant well so she can trust him.
Wait, he doesn’t remember her name? She sigh in relief, thought it would be long term memory. “Intro again, huh? The name’s Jacklyn Oakley, but you can call me Jack.” She grab his hand and shakes it. Wanted to hold another, but she doesn’t have other arm.
@aonokumura
Meeting Rin again is a strange coincidence, but how she felt a bit rarely embarrassed over how her overexcitement had brought herself in a bit of a spot, possibly that she was trying to make a good impression when meeting with people. So she brought him a hot dog she made in case she meets someone like him again. "Oh hey! Sorry for the last meeting we did; we just never met with someone who was new to me. It's what I get for trying to be all "fun" and stuff. So... here you go." She gives him a hot dog he deserves.

That punch she felt was almost thrown by a rock. It's very lucky she has been training through her lifetime; otherwise, she has to get to go back to hideout to treat herself like any sane person would. Traveler held her stomach, staring up at Ava like she had never seen her that glare before. It gives herself an eyebrow raise with fire in front of her, amused how it changes her from shy one to angry fiery person.
"That's funny; I thought it could be like a formal greeting. Ohh, now I got your memo, if you're worrying about the whole germ thing, you're in luck. I wear my favorite scarf."
Even when she's wearing a mask and a scarf, she says it as Ava's afraid of germs like anyone who meets someone in the street, not even bother by this fire that's in front of her, and stands up with her bo staff, talking to her as she's full of confidence with a witty tongue close to her brain.
@detectivesteamo said: It's only fair if someone who wears a mask give Ava a small smooch as Traveler just doing it without telling her why.
Ava's first instinct whenever anyone she doesn't recognize gets too close to her is to put as much distance between them and her as she could, and this would have been no different. Except for the fact that they got close enough to try and make physical contact, that immediately earns a fist to their stomach, a wall of fire between them when she feels that she has moved back enough for it, and a withering glare.
"What the fuck?"

"What do we have here? A new person coming into my food stand? How are you doing?" Jack, a short name for Jacklyn, might be a teenager with one arm, but she couldn't let adults do the cooking and have her running in the streets like any kids would. No, she would love to cook her own food for anyone she encountered. And right now, she's cooking the tomato soup with heavy cream on top. She can make another different food for Hax if she wants. "And what can I give you? It's like free food with a taste test!"

The load of party guests turn their attention towards Ava's moving skeleton trick, which Jack's sigh in relief since she got time to figure out what to do next as a masked stranger, but then again, her curiosity brights out of her creative mind, so she walks next towards people's way to watch Ava's power come to life as if any magicians can do trick. To her surprise though, it's nothing from strings to do work for her… no, it's really skeletons go around to perform in command of her magic; real magic came from real mage nonetheless. 'Not a royal mage? Yeah, my eyes don't lie, gal, magic sparkles with your little hands.' She smirks underneath and finds out she's not much of an attention seeker, which makes her mirror to the other side.
While guests pay more attention to her magic over no strings attached skeleton's entertain abilities, in her opinion that she could use confetti, she turns her attention towards other nobles by swiftly stealing one of the guests' opera glasses. Every piece of jewelry that came from different countries is likely worth more, as they are rarely seen in this country. Motivate herself to gather them in one richly covered chest that will inspire Volleys. So she swifts her eyes on the skeletons thanks to Ava's magic arts and continually performs for the audience; it comes with conclude the one answer she figures out, it's likely her special day for her. It's going to be hard to ruin it, but who knows?
And then the performance with music stops for a few seconds before the big finish, and the queen asks about the cart of food Phil carries. It would seem the audience also pays attention to covered food projects, which fuel Jack's already confidence about her founding talent. Better than that, it comes from Queen's good graces, so Phil will do the honors to introduce these fine dishes covered with silver cloches.
"Ahem, your majesty and high authorities, Miss Oakley has bought you all the dinner tables she wanted to give you all in time of her absence. Cranberry kiss mocktail, chocolate squares with cream and raspberries, sesame garlic noodles, escargot, and most of all, large masquerade-covered cake." He told the queen after Jack's helpers lifted dome covers to show the audience her steam-looking foods that would make other chefs jealous, just as she loves to say much.
Going towards the party night will be very glamorous, but hopefully it's going through as many guests are attended as much as they are waiting for. Nothing will be warfare or being a violent thief in her own very story; only be as persuasive as possible. And dressing up as part of masked guests without any lead to Jack's line of travel experiences, there's nothing she can't handle as she smugly walks with her tall overall partner, Philock, pushing a food cart as she requested. She'll pay him once it's done.
Make it to the line full of masked people behind them. This busker swiftly wears a feathery fox mask, black gloves with a few golden sparks on each finger, and a dark blue tuxedo suit with a rare purple flower attached to the left side of her new outfit. Even her cape hides stars underneath. Could lead some questions from Volleys, but it's the way she loves it, as night always comes in full of surprises.
"See that, Phil? It's always coming to the top in this grand ball; you get what I'm saying?" She asks him, and Philock nods in response since he doesn't talk much while he wears a honey badger, which could symbolize his character. So Jack gets an answer from him and goes back further so it wouldn't lead a bit suspicious, leading him to greet Ava without knowing what to say much, but nods and moves on. Deep down, he's a bit nervous to greet the royal court.
Upon walking behind her assistant with a cape wrapped around her, she went with other guests who currently greet towards a royal mage before entering the kingdom's ballroom. The masked fox person took a nod to her since she could tell she's the same girl back on the queen's throne as One Eye Thief, could tell she's trying to be fancy for guests, and went inside this social function. It's almost not like her performance in the streets; it's coming out as quiet and polite for authorities. It's almost overwhelmed her big purpose of being a performer for them, as they wouldn't be pleased over her own skills instead of other disguises she could make out of with a little more practice on persuasive skills, which made her sweat underneath her mask. On the other hand, she gazed upon the queen and other royalties' jewelry and widen her eyes. 'Whoa, it's going to be more than eight hundred pieces of treasure!' She thought before gazing upon Ava, who might be standing next to another court; give her another idea.

This kingdom is full of unexpected ideas, as she would say in her imaginative head. Might be heavy-guarded soldiers, but there's another thing that this queen's trained guards will see more than what this thief is divergent from how they can see other ones in this kingdom. She just came back to the street, readying herself to cook up the new dishes thanks to her recipe book as she started to cook up the grand food serving for the royalty, humming as usual as she's been the free-spirited street merchant, but in confidence got her grand plan for setting up for the royal masquerade ball coming up as she placed it under her table to remember. It could be easier to say nothing about the plan to steal and disguise her as a lone larcenous beggar, but in her mind, it's going to be well planned.
Jack loves to cook up the very delish dishes as she always does and would like to have people's personal taste of luxuriousness; it's the work of art, as any painters would think as well. Every recipe counts in her little cookbook. After hours of getting work done for the masquerade ball, thanks to her alter ego's words, she began to work on the next step, getting the design for the royal masquerade ball, but what kind of outfit? This young busker walks down to the different street and finds a place for answers she could use in Royal Ball, the craft store she can certainly see through. Once she finds it with many choices, she makes a little smirk with plans coming up with little coincidence.
"Perfect!" She wears a cloak and has a type of masquerade mask she chooses, but also purchases it in case this plan needs to be quiet and settled if she wants to get these treasures from the queen's under nose. And maybe this royal mage she met.

Robin made a slight frustrated sigh and rubbed between her eyes after taking her small specs; she never thought he could be this stubborn at the time for his science work. ▸ @detectivesteamo ⟶ ❛ "Put down the pen. You can finish that later." (Robin to Viktor cuz why not? XD) ❜
“No,” came Viktor’s cold reply, as he did not look up from his desk. Robin was not the only one who came to him with tedious distractions, offers to walk home or get dinner together or whatever else. He could not afford to be away from the lab for too long, and he stayed behind well after everyone else left for the night.
“Respectfully, I am running out of time to get this done.” He did not tell her why, content to let her imagine the Council had appointed him a deadline, and not the gods themselves. He continued scratching numbers on the paper in front of him.
“Good night, Robin.”

So the grumpy homeless thief walks out of the kingdom and scowling at the royal mage over her impudence. She could try to walk away and never think of that place again... or not. She secretly smirks and pulls off her eyepatch and fake scars off from her left eye and fake disgusting tooth throws to the trash can near her, shows that being herself felt more relived being herself than being one who angry at everyone else coming into this kingdom without reason, it's her least favorite disguise. "Whew, it's sweating over there. Now," she have poster she secretly stole from the golden wall that palace have when she disguised as lone angry petty thief, "royal treasure room, here I come."
