sorry if I'm being annoying because you probably already answered to a lot of questions like that but I'm very new to tulpamancy so do you have any tips for a beginner ? Thank you in advance!

Hmmmm there aint much context here but I'll give ya some tips I can think of for the most basic of beginners!

- learning to listen to ur own head is a skill in of itself, and it's an instinct you gotta develop. My host did it by learning to do stuff in our headspace before working on me, but the basic skills ya want are being able to listen to the instinctive responses of your brain, being able to focus on your internal state over a long time, and (eventually) multitasking doing something in ur head and in outerworld at the same time. We have adhd so having something to do in headspace helped a Lot. Some of my earliest memories are of choosing where to go in headspace.

- A lot of places will tell you about active forcing and how important it is to dedicate time to your tulpa, but our greatest advances personally always happened when I was being shown something in headspace or outerworld, getting some kinda stimulus or thing host thought would be interesting to me. So while yeah just paying attention to your tulpa is important too, especially in the very early stages, don't be afraid to do things with them! Give em experiences, things to base their identity off of. Your tulpa is speedrunning learning how to be a person, they can't do that in a bubble!

- When you're starting out tulpamancy, it's common to base your tulpa off of some kinda predetermined guidelines like personality traits, likes, or even a character or concept- that's how I was made, and how I'm a fictive. It also makes it easier to kickstart their creation and feel their presence faster. But be careful not to rely on that framework too much, cus it can make you paranoid later on. For a couple examples: maybe Host A starts working on Fictive Tulpa B, and she knows how he acts in-canon so well that she struggles to tell if she's actually getting responses from him or if she's just automatically judging what the character would say. In another example, Host Y has been forcing Tulpa Z with a specific set of traits, and when Z diverged and expressed an opinion contradictory to that framework, Host Y began panicking and thinking xe did something wrong. In both cases, Host A and Host Y are focusing too much on what they expect their tulpas to be, and not enough on how they are in the present and the development of their autonomy.

- You probably won't get much vocal response right away, especially if you're starting out as a singlet. You gotta watch for more subtle cues when you're just starting out, like feeling their presence, them moving their headspace form, or sharing positive or negative feelings. Sharing emotions and thoughts without actual words is pretty common in systems, and in the tulpamancy community it's called tulpish. Be on the lookout for nonverbal communication like that, because it's some of the first stuff we can do! Also, something lots of new tulpamancers report are head pressures, which are like really mild temple headaches that come with lots of forcing or the presence of your tulpa. (feels like the "expanding brain" meme irl if im being honest LOL) If you're struggling to tell if you're making any progress, try paying attention for that too.

Having a crush on Solomon is nerve-wracking, to say the least. The great and powerful sorcerer, Solomon the Wise, your own personal magic tutor and someone that made pacts with 72 demons. Despite his odd quirks (or maybe because of them), combined with his sense of humor and general fun attitude, it's not really a surprise that you've developed a crush.

Perhaps it's a slow development and realization; after weeks of magic lessons, realizing more and more often that you don't want to leave yet, you don't want to stop hearing his voice telling you about the histories of incantations and maybe some stories of flubbed spells he cast in his youth. That your heart aches at the thought of not getting to see him, even just for a few days, and squeezes tight when you get a text from him.

Or maybe it's a slap in the face, because he just happens to smile at you at the right time, sunlight streaming down and highlighting his fair hair, he laughs at one of your jokes, or maybe shares an awful meme with you, and you realize: you like him. Badly.

Despite how "wise" Solomon is, he may be out of touch with human emotions after so many years spent with demons and angels and generally non-mundane things, so he might not pick up that you have a crush for a while, if at all. And given his history with gaining and losing people over his long lifespan, he may have also developed blinders to these things to prevent getting hurt.

If he does manage to find out your crush on his own, all that composure is gone. He may pretend to be unaffected on the outside, but he is definitely having a small freak out inside. First of all, you like him? Like, like like him?? He hasn't scared you off or bored you somehow? He'll be like a schoolboy, giddy and excited and brain not functioning during this revelation.

Once he moves past the initial freakout stage, he may play just a little dirty after finding out your secret. He'll do little things to tease you; it's mean, he knows that, but he can't help but want to see more of how exactly he affects you. Sitting a little too close during lessons, randomly giving you flowers, performing little magic tricks just to see your eyes light up. But don't let his outward composure fool you, he's just as nervous about this crush as you are.

If you tell him about the crush yourself, you'll get the added benefit of seeing that break in composure in person. He'd likely even be a little speechless for once, while his brain is processing this information. You'll know he's done thinking when his cheeks turn that adorable pink and he can't hold eye contact anymore. Even if he can't answer you immediately, you best believe he'll be formulating the perfect response to your confession. Whether or not he harbors the same feelings, it still shakes him a little, to be honest, but he'll be respectable about it. His amazing apprentice deserves the best, after all.

okay. oh no. my switch has been flickered. you decided to ask ME about ZINNIA? aka the woman who completely altered ruby's childhood? while I understand her hatred towards steven and devon corp itself she's still got issues that im not EXCUSING MF 💥 women hate women still exists im afraid and jaide stone is nothing but a hater when this lady comes around 💥

okay so let's start in the R/S arc. the salamence event happens, ruby gets injured. sounds easy right? sure, but why did it even happen in the first place? nobody knew where the salamence came from - that's what jaide held the biggest contempt for.

"who in the world, was this sick and twisted to allow their dragon creature come to fight harmless children?"

she didn't have the answers yet, but the day would get even worse when she also learns that steven's devon corporation has gone through with an accident that had something to do with... releasing the sky legend. and it was because of a salamence as well. while I imagine steven refusing to disclose that specific detail about caging a beast down (corporation secrets, you know?) it's still easy to tell jaide that he's very upset, combined with him learning what happened to ruby too. it was not a great day for anyone, not even professor birch, I'm sure.

but from that day onward, jaide would do her best to find out the perpetrator that caused this trauma on the children, she's not just doing this for ruby, but for sapphire as well. she's had this same feeling as before, when gold gets in trouble for dealing with the evil scums of the g/s/c arc. she just knew that feeling too well, and didn't want it to happen again. her willpower to find out the truth keeps expanding as she's forced to watch the strained relationship between ruby and steven become stronger as time goes by - they rarely talk about that incident, but it's like a core memory to everyone involved there.

proceeding to the oras arcs, i can't really imagine jaide to be very involved from the get-go, but that would be until she would learn about the meteorite that would come to destroy all of hoenn - she's more or less of a supporting character. i would have to reread this again to give you a full answer on what she can do

but let's skip to the good part, when jaide does learn that zinnia was the one responsible for all this. i can't remember the sequence of events too well, but let's assume it all happened on this part where zinnia brings fourth the reformed magma and aqua team. (again i could be assuming the sequence of events wrong but yeah shh)

she has no idea who she is, but from the way she spoke so lowly about devon (a company that everyone loves) and having that intimidating salamence by her side - she couldn't help but assume maybe this could be the one. combined with jaide's smart sense of pokemon nature reading - she can only assume it was the aggressive salamence that fought without rhyme or reason from years ago + the same salamence also attacked steven's corporation.

i like to imagine jaide didn't say much as first, as she's not one to be so brash and act upon it quickly and allows zinnia to proudly monologue about her plans, slowly trying to understand what's going on. part of her plan includes stealing the keystones to win the favor of the sky beast, and who else had a keystone? steven stone.

sending out her goodra, it immobilzes steven with its goo and commands it to steal his stickpin - jaide panics but steven wanted her out of this. but just in the nick of time:

ruby comes in a clutch to stop the goodra from stealing his stickpin. distracted, jaide would try to lunge at zinnia and try to apprehend her and keep her in place - grabbing her wrists and looking at her dead in the eyes - quite the angry mother, huh? while she didn't understand the whole context of what's going on, she knew that zinnia was bad business and wanted her to talk it out. that's when jaide asks her to confirm her speculations

"your salamence, that was the same one from 9 years ago, wasn't it? it wrecked havoc in the corporation."

zinnia would snicker.

"of course! it was also thanks to a little boy that made it even more agitated, and it broke off the cages to set the sky legend free."

her suspicions would be correct, it was the same one that harmed her son 9 years ago. the events lined up exactly with the woman's words.

jaide... was furious. but, she can't just fight all of a sudden, it's not like her but the least she can do was to call upon her ursaring to keep zinnia pinned - I mean, she got the boss, right?

zinnia would snicker at steven again.

"you're married? it would seem you're not the most honest husband around."

jaide assumed she was just... trying to piss her off. but in reality, jaide was missing a few chunks of context that steven had regrettably hidden away from her.

ruby stopped his mother from being passive aggressive towards the perpetrator, and would give up his and emerald's keystone bracelets just to simply say that he "wants this to be over."

it wouldn't be long before zinnia sets out, thanking ruby for the keystones and flying out of the place. jaide was stunned, steven looked dejected again.

it would seem he still has to clear up a few things about what he and his father does for a living.

it's complicated to be a family and business man at the same time.

Fanboy’s Five Step Plan To A Better Day...

look at this absolute sweetheart. he is, quite literally, your biggest fanboy

mickey is BIG on words of affirmation, in fact it’s one of his love languages

not only is he a supportive boyfriend but he’s also an attentive one

so when he sees that you’re struggling, he pulls out all the stops to keep your morale up

if he can’t be with you in person, he’d send you a text every hour or every two hours with encouraging words, funny tik toks, and silly memes to get you smiling

fanboy: hey honey, just a few more hours left. hang in there! *insert some form of a cat meme* 

he’d also send you voice memos and call you when he has the time

“you’re doing great today, love. keep your head up. can’t wait to get home to you. i’ve got a pretty good story about something payback did during training today that i think will make you laugh. love you and see you soon.” 

when he finally does get home, his first instinct is to automatically scan his surroundings 

he likes to look for things such as dirty dishes and the faint smell of left overs or take out, or the ruffled cushions of the couch. that alone is enough to tell him if you’ve been taking care of yourself or not while he was at work 

nine times out of ten, the answer is that you haven’t been and it hurts his heart a little because he hates the thought of you feeling so down that you haven’t been able to take care of yourself

lucky for you, mickey’s five step plan is surely enough to give you the little mood boost you need 

step one: queue your comfort show on netflix and run your favorite fluffy blanket in the dryer 

step two: find his honey. the second he locates you, the first thing he does is greet you with a soft kiss to the top of your head and a gentle shoulder massage to ease your tense muscles 

step three: communication! similarly to our other favorite WSO (hi bobby), fanboy is also big on communication. he knows that there are some days where your mood is so heavy and your thoughts are so loud that you want nothing more than your peace and quiet. so, he’ll ask you how your day has been. he’ll gage from your response alone if it’s a netflix and cuddles day, a sit in comforting silence day, or a day that you want to be left alone 

he got lucky that today would be a netflix and cuddles type of day (aka his favorite; though if we’re being honest any time he gets to spend with you is his favorite type of day) 

sometimes you can be a bit needy and request for him to carry you downstairs

“as you wish,” he’ll reply, quoting his favorite movie of all time 

mickey would place you gently on the couch and tell you to wait right there while he grabs your blanket from the dryer 

now freshly warmed, he drapes it securely around your shoulders before attempting to head to the kitchen 

you’ll playfully pucker your lips and tilt your head towards him and whisper a soft, “kiss me”

you do this every time, and it still makes him blush every. time. 

“as you wish,” he’ll repeat once more before placing the sweetest of kisses onto your lips 

then he’ll place a couple more obnoxiously wet kisses all over your face until he gets his favorite sound out of you 

“there you are…i’ve been wanting to hear that sound all day.”

he gives you one last kiss on the lips for good measure before heading to the kitchen

step 4: prepare the cups of cocoa 

fanboy has a very particular way of making hot cocoa, one that you could never replicate yourself. it’s gotten to the point where you can only drink hot cocoa HIS way 

it’s your comfort drink really 

he prepares your drinks and heads back to you, carefully handing you your hot cocoa in the hand painted mug he gave you for your birthday (it has little airplanes on it painted in your favorite colors) 

step 5: cuddlescuddlescuddles

mickey is the kind of boyfriend that likes when his legs are resting in your lap 

he’ll peel the blanket off your shoulders and bring one end across his own while smushing himself as close as possible to you

the two of you sit with your cups of hot cocoa, reveling in the comfort and silence the other brings as the tv runs in the background 

neither of you are actually paying attention to the show, instead just basking in each other’s presence

even then, fanboy will let out soft praises and words of affirmation, making all the bad feelings of the day finally fade away 

“i’m so proud of you, honey” 

“i believe in you” 

“just a little bit more, then you can finally rest” 

“i love you”

Farryn, Tiefling Wild Magic Sorcerer (25 years old)

If you think there's a favourite here on the blog ur right. this is my babyboy. He occupies my brain most of the time. First bg3 tav realness. (the art is by my lovely partner bwee)

- Dancing around emotions with Wyll (The potential that larian purposefully stood in the way of actually makes me ill fr,,,, why did i not get the dance scene besties.... what did i do wrong...)

- Glass cannon who's willing to push himself to the limit (magical fatigue themes my beloved) to guarantee his survival. He IS reckless but he will make sure everyone gets out alive.

- He's a city boy stumbling around out here, Perishing at the rough and tumble camp life but he is also in awe of the natural world.

- He mostly acts with self preservation in mind, leading to him being largely non-combatitive whenever possible, or at worst making bold but necessary sacrifices for his and his companions' safety.

- Hates the idea of gods being these fonts of absolute rules and fate being prewritten. Hated everyone being on their god related bullshit.

- He will claim to be a hater!!! he is lying with his 20 CHA score!!! he is in fact a lover at his core. He has so much love for his companions and the world around him despite how it's treated him.

- he's kinda vain in that rich kid way, he has an appreciation for dance and fashion, definitely has standards when it comes to meals eaten too.

Farryn is the 3rd child to an influential Baldur's Gate family. He was raised in complete secrecy from the prying eyes of the Baldur's Gate elite due to him being born a tiefling. It'd simply ruin his family's image. His family were deeply devoted to the God of Fate, Savras, and in turn all were either skilled diviners, or various clerics in His service.

When he turned 11, he awoke to his magic in a display of chaos, and gifted the slight gift of being able to take control of the wheels of fate. His family then suddenly doted on him, believing him to be the potential chosen of Savras, and this being a blessing for new followers. Their dedication and warped ideas of Farryn lead them to trying to canonize him as some sort of figurehead on the day of his 14th Birthday. After the failure, they bide their time until Farryn's 21st, to try again. But this time he ran, and has been since trying to live in a world where he never truly existed.

Daeris awoke on the Nautiloid with the prayers of Ilmater rattling in his head before even his own name. He fought through the nautiloid, horrified at what was going on but unable to save anyone else or lessen the pains they were experiencing. As he awoke on the beach in the wreckage, he swore an oath of vengeance for those who perished on the nautiloid, to hunt down those responsible for... well everything.

Being quick to dedicate himself to Ilmater, he remembers pretty much the core beliefs, about shouldering the suffering of others and acting as selflessly as possible.

Cress is a tiefling who, after being abandoned by their parents at a young age, found themselves scared and alone in the Underdark.

They were just a child stumbling around, and happened upon the Myconid Colonies. Being a child who didn't particularly understand, they just saught shelter and community. And the Myconids offered them this, wearily at first, but as soon as it was clear this child wasn't really going to mean them harm, it was an easy enough transition. Being raised by Myconids was a strange one, perhaps distant in a way but Cress only yearned for acceptance, which they offered freely.

As they grew older, they conversed with outsiders and assisted adventurers and acted as the go to for vibe checking those who wished to temporarily stay in the Myconids' company. They also became an expert navigator for lost adventurers, only asking for seemingly meaningless trinkets from the surface. On one such trip up to the surface, they found themselves snatched up by a nautiloid, and the adventure begins from here.

Probably Doctor Death Doula. For what it is, an AU (but set in Water 7 with Water 7 influences), and with main characters being Law and Water 7 Kokoro (as doctor and patient), and gorgeous art by @alegnace I think it's a story that touches most readers. I'm very content with the attention it has actually got, and wonderful comments, but it'd be nice if a few more folks might dip in and give the story a go. Also, I've reread both of the KidLaw fics I wrote for the 2022 KidLaw Exchange and 2022 OP Secret Santa, and I think they're funny😁. And a few other people do too, and I love them for it! But I don't think the stories do much for KidLaw nation in general judging from hits and kudos. I wouldn't mind my 4 younger Hearts on Swallow Island done for the Growing Pains zine getting a bit more credit, but I adore and am grateful for the feedback I have received.

All of them!!!! Naturally, every writer loves an in depth response, but I'm aware how much time and effort they can take, and I'm very fortunate to get a fair few of those kind! But just knowing that someone like dwhat you wrote is so validating, no matter the package the comment comes in.

📡why is writing and sharing your writing important for fandom?

I don't know that it is. Haha. I just enjoy writing. Also, maybe I have a slightly different view of Law from some parts of fandom, and maybe those who read my work like that? And although I don't seem to write them any more, I did fill the Marco/ Law vacuum a tiny bit. Those who enjoy Heart Pirates might find something in my works, and there are a number of different Law ships in there too!

💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

Hmmm, this is a tricky one! I think The Gilded Cage is the answer once again. Probably. I never expected it to be so popular. It was just me, writing an epic Omegaverse fic for my own entertainment and it seemed to strike a chord with people.

That said, Hiraeth has had a more incredible response than I anticipated. people seem to be really enjoying it, which is great. It's ANGSTY (with a hopefully happy ending once I get that far!) so I wasn't expecting it to hold a lot of appeal, but it seems it has!
