important headcanons for kimi.
kimi is actually an orphan. her parents died in an accident when she was in middle school, but they left her a sizeable chunk of money that she can afford to live on her own ( her aunt on her mother’s side that lives in the countryside is her guaranteer for her rent ). this isn’t essentially well known because kimi doesn’t like to advertise personal business like this, but kakeru knows since they went to the same middle school together.
also, kimi and kakeru have been friends since middle school. they’re not the closest of friends, since kimi likes to have various acquaintances and doesn’t really like to let people get to close, but he probably is the most genuine friend that kimi has. they also match each other quite well, but they’ve never tried dating or anything because it’d be too much like flirting with themselves.
kimi genuinely loves yuki, but it’s not because of his wallet like she said once. also, like kakeru, it’s not necessarily a romantic love; although, that’s certainly what she portrays it as, but rather a genuine admiration of his abilities. she likes pretending to be flirting with yuki because it usually gets a) a funny reaction out of his fangirls and b) it’s fun to see yuki somewhat tired of her. of course, when machi and yuki get together, kimi drops her pretend romantic crush on yuki and instead cheers them on.
kimi has met with komaki a few times and thinks that her and kakeru are really good for each other. she’s happy that they’re happy together.
kimi does stay friends with kakeru, komaki, yuki, and machi after they graduate; although, she moves to france and new york for a time for her modelling. she also acts in japanese dramas here and there, and was twice a side cameo for an american show. she visits whenever she gets a chance and harasses all of them for meet-ups.
although kimi goes on a lot of dates, she doesn’t really feel much romantic or sexual attraction to people. she’s content with it.

chapter twenty — deja vu
➝ mercedes’ second championship win brings back some old feelings, but things between elisabeth and toto feel brand-new.
➝ word count: 3,9k
➝ warnings: none
OCTOBER, 2015
The mood in the garage was one of pure ecstasy.
Mechanics were running around, wide smiles on their faces and bottles of champagne in their hands. The engineers thumped each other on the back as they passed, in a gesture of cooperation. On the television screens mounted to the walls, images switched between replays of the silver car with the number 44 taking its lap of honor around the Sochi circuit, and the podium ceremony that had just taken place, with Lewis, Sebastian and Sergio dousing Andy Cowell with champagne.
Watching the proceedings with a smile, Elisabeth had the strange sensation that she’d been here before. The smiles, the tears, the fuss to get everyone assembled for the victory photo — it was all too familiar to her. But, there was something else in the air, too.
Apprehension.
On the last lap, after Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Räikkönen overtook Sérgio Perez, there was a fierce fight by both Finns for third place. However, the 2007 champion collided with the Williams driver. While Valtteri had to retire from the race due to the damage from the collision, Kimi managed to get his Ferrari to the checkered flag, taking fifth place.
The combination of results between the Finn and his teammate, Sebastian Vettel, together with Nico's early retirement, prevented her team from celebrating its second Constructors' World title in Russia. However, Elisabeth’s father pointed out Kimi’s reckless move almost immediately.
— He did it on purpose — Niki said, his voice flat.
She quirked an eyebrow as she looked at him.
— What are you talking about, dad?
— Räikkönen. He tagged his wheel against Bottas. He should be getting a penalty.
— But what penalty? — Elisabeth asked, as Lewis passed the checkered flag on the screen in front of her.
— A time penalty, added at the end of the race — he muttered, watching Sebastian and Sergio cross the finish line.
— A time penalty could mean our Constructors' title — Toto said, snatching his cell phone from the engineering station as he jumped out of his chair. Even before Lewis had even pulled into parc fermè, he was walking out of the back of the garage. She was confused as she watched the team principal leave, her father on his heels.
“Why haven’t they come back yet?”, she thought, after a few minutes. Elisabeth pursed her lips as she observed the anxious throng of mechanics and engineers, who were already holding giant silver Mercedes stars and champagne bottles in their hands. They were just waiting to find out which victories they’d be celebrating that day.
— Elisabeth — one of the interns from the marketing team stopped in front of her with a pile of aqua-green t-shirts, still wrapped in clear plastic. — Do you want a t-shirt?
She looked down at her white blouse, and memories from the year before came to her, when she was soaked with champagne and felt half-naked in the midst of the title celebrations, in front of dozens of photographers.
“If it wasn't for Toto”, she thought, smiling.
— Yes, I do.
She pressed one of the shirts into her hands, and Elisabeth gave her a thankful smile to the girl, who went on with her mission to outfit the rest of the team. She opened the package and quickly glanced at the white screen printing, which featured the words “Race Winners”, “F1 W05 Hybrid” and “2015” highlighted. She slipped the t-shirt over her white blouse.
— They're coming! — someone yelled. There was a sudden commotion in the garage, and she started to make her way through the assembled crowd, moving to get to the area where everyone was gathering.
First, Lewis appeared alongside Andy, both of them completely drenched in champagne and holding the first-place and constructors trophies. Behind them, Toto appeared next to Nico, the two of them talking quietly before they came face to face with the crowd.
— We'll talk about this later — Elisabeth heard the team principal say to his driver. Then, he looked up at the crowd that had gathered. The tension in the air was almost palpable.
Toto’s eyes met hers, and then, his face cracked into a wide smile.
— We are the two-time Constructor’s champions — he said in a low voice.
Before Elisabeth could realize it, her feet were already in a clumsy run towards Toto, her arms looping around his neck, pulling him into a tight hug. Just as it had been in Monaco two years ago, she felt his arms wrap around her waist and lift her off the ground.
He smelled the same.
The emotions she felt were the same.
However, they were not.
Both of them had changed considerably since that day in Monte Carlo. They both had matured. They had both learned, not just about motorsport, but about leadership, business, companionship, and partnership, but above all, they’d both learned about love.
The second title was sweeter than the first.
— You did it, honey — she whispered into his ear as she planted a discreet kiss on the crook of his neck.
— We did it, Liesl — Toto whispered back.
She looked into his brown eyes and saw them gleaming with satisfaction. Of happiness. Of desire.
— I'm so proud of you — she whispered, a wide smile on her face. Toto didn't answer, just leaning his forehead against hers, closing his eyes slightly. Elisabeth also closed her eyes for a few seconds, absorbing that moment and using all her self-control not to kiss him right there.
Seconds later, she felt her feet touch the ground again. Around her, the team exchanged hugs and congratulations, laughter and pats on the back. The atmosphere in the garage was electric. It was joy in its purest form.
However, Elisabeth and Toto were inside their own bubble, staring at each other in silence, trying to say with their eyes everything that they couldn't speak with their lips at that moment. Amid so many unspoken words, she had to walk away quickly. She'd finally realized what she'd done.
“That wasn’t discreet at all, Elisabeth”, she thought, looking to the side and seeing Nico, who was shaking hands with his race engineer, Tony Ross.
Without hesitation, she threw her arms around the driver, trying to reproduce the same joy with which she had hugged Toto earlier.
— Congratulations, Nico! — she exclaimed, looking at him with a wide smile on her face — We did it again!
The German looked a little taken aback by her effusiveness. After all, the race had been a real disgrace for him, as he had to retire at the end of the seventh lap. However, Nico returned her smile.
— Yes, we did it — he replied — I wish it would have been easier, but we did it.
— Are you happy?
— As happy as I can be, Elisabeth — Nico said, his smile fading — I'm still frustrated with the retirement, but there wasn't much I could do.
Elisabeth pursed her lips, feeling a little guilty for having chosen Nico to be her cover.
— Did you find out what the problem was, yet?
— The accelerator pedal stuck.
— Shit — she muttered, putting a hand on his shoulder — But you're still in the fray, anything can happen.
— It's going to be hard, you know, Elisabeth…
— Hard, but not impossible. And you know it.
Nico laughed.
— Your optimism is impressive.
— Well, someone needs to be optimistic! — she replied, smiling, before giving the driver another hug, this time, to encourage him.
— Mauslein? — she heard a familiar voice amid the cacophony. Elisabeth turned away from Nico and saw her father standing at the entrance to the garage, a smile on his face. As soon as she looked at him, Elisabeth felt an avalanche of happiness wash over her. She couldn’t keep the grin off of her face if she’d tried.
— Dad — she exclaimed, as she walked toward him and wrapped him in a tight hug — You've done it again!
She felt Niki's hands rest on her back, but he was hesitant. She pulled back slightly, meeting her father's face with a somewhat confused expression.
— Done what?
— Kimi got a thirty-second time penalty — Elisabeth heard Toto say, as he appeared next to her — It dropped him to P8. We’re champions, Niki.
— Two-time champions — she added, with a smile.
Her father's eyes shone with joy.
— So we are! We really are! — he laughed, pulling her into another hug and kissing her cheek — We did it again!
— But, I didn't do anything, dad — she said, turning away from her father — You did. You and Toto did.
Her father sighed, running a hand through her hair.
— You've done a lot, Mauslein. Much more than last year. And I'm proud of you — Niki said, touching her cheek gently with his fingers. Hearing him say that he was proud of her sent a tsunami of emotions through Elisabeth. She felt so many things in a matter of seconds. First, it was the satisfaction of having made her father proud, after all, that was always her goal. Then, it was followed by an overwhelming wave of guilt, sadness in its wake when she should have been overjoyed for the achievement.
In her mind, Elisabeth heard Mathias' words over and over again.
“You already let him down”.
The next thing she knew, her dad was shaking his head, running his thumb over one of the tears that had started to run down her cheek.
— How many times do I need to tell you not to cry so that I don't start crying too? — he muttered.
— Crying isn't bad, dad — she said, forcing a smile — I'm just happy.
— But there's no need to cry about it, especially if you're happy — Niki laughed, wiping another tear of hers — In fact, we should enjoy this moment and take some pictures. What do you think?
— Great idea, dad — she replied, sniffling.
In a few minutes, everyone was positioned outside the garage, in front a pool of photographers and their lenses, jockeying for the best angles of the team that had just won the 2015 Constructors' Championship. Elisabeth tried to sneak into a corner with the reporters, but she felt a hand land on her shoulder.
— Where are you going? — she turned around to see Nico smiling.
— To… Watch the celebration?
— Nope! You're coming with me — he said, dragging Elisabeth toward the group, umoved by her protests.
He led her to crouch next to him in front of the pit board, which contained the words “Lewis” and “P1”. It was put together before the mechanics knew about Räikkönen’s time penalty. She realized that she was positioned right in between the two drivers. Looking to the left, she noticed that Lewis was arranging the trophies in front of the group, lining them up perfectly.
— It looks great, Lewis — she said with a smile.
— I don't know, it looks crooked to me — he laughed, fiddling with the champagne bottle that was between the two trophies. Conversations stopped when Bradley stood in front of the group, next to the lens, and started directing the poses the group was supposed to make. Clenched fists, champion shouts, laughter. Then, Elisabeth looked to the side and noticed that her father was moving away from the group, towards the press pool.
Then someone behind her started counting.
— Three!
She knew what was about to happen.
— Two!
She made a move to run away, only to feel a pair of hands hold her in place, preventing her from escaping.
— One!
She looked to her side and saw Nico’s mischievous smile.
The sound of champagne bottles popping was accompanied by laughter and a spray of champagne straight in her face. Elisabeth squealed as she tried to fend off the booze shower. She tried to stand up again, to no avail. Nico seemed to hold her even more firmly in the same place, determined to prevent her from fleeing.
— Nico! — she yelled, putting her hands in front of her face in an attempt to defend herself. Somewhere in front of her, she could hear Lewis chuckling — Leave me alone, Nico!
— No — he said, laughing.
Suddenly, the spray stopped hitting her face, allowing her to wipe the liquid out of her eyes. However, Elisabeth hadn’t even regained her vision before she felt an icy stream fall on her head, rolling down her neck and the back of her t-shirt. Someone had upended an entire bottle on her without any mercy. She was completely soaked with champagne.
— Fuck — Elisabeth laughed, trying to wipe her eyes dry again. As she looked for the culprit, she spotted Lewis with an empty bottle in his hands, running from a mechanic who was trying to douse him.
— You are now officially baptized, Elisabeth — Nico said, laughing.
— Just you wait, Rosberg. Both you and Hamilton — she snarled, brushing a lock of her wet hair away from her face. She lifted herself off the ground and headed for the garage, wondering how she was going to get back to the hotel like this.
— You're dripping all over the place, Liesl — Toto said. He was standing in a corner. She looked back at the floor and noticed that she’d left a trail of champagne drops along the way. She looked back at him. He was staring at her with a serious expression as he rubbed a towel through his hair.
— Sorry — Elisabeth gave an apologetic smile — I'm looking for a towel.
— There must be one in Nico's driver room — he said, his tone a little nonchalant. She wasn't expecting him to sound so somber, and she approached him.
— Are you all right, dear? — she whispered.
He smiled at her.
— Yes, I’m fine.
Elisabeth wasn't convinced.
A few hours later, they were walking down the eighth floor corridor of the Delta Sirius hotel in absolute silence. She pulled the entry card out of her bag, and opened the door, motioning for Toto to enter the room ahead of her. She quickly glanced up and down the hallway, ensuring that there weren't any familiar faces that might have seen them enter the suite before she closed the door.
As she released the door handle, Elisabeth took a deep breath, bracing herself for what was to come.
She traipsed through the short entryway and found Toto sitting in the bedroom armchair, removing his damp shoes and socks in silence.
His face was an indecipherable mask, which made her even more anxious.
After a day like today, with such an important achievement, it should have been impossible for him to be so indifferent, as if everything was just another day at the office.
“Something's wrong”, she thought to herself, sitting on the bed.
— Darling — Elisabeth said, after a few seconds of hesitation.
— Yes? — he replied.
— Is everything alright?
He sighed. He looked up at her.
— Yeah, I’m okay, Elisabeth — Toto replied. The way he answered confirmed what she already knew.
— Are you sure? — she insisted.
— Yeah, Elisabeth, I'm just tired.
She got up from the bed and approached him slowly. Then, she stopped in front of him, sitting on the floor, resting on her heels, not taking her eyes off of him. She rested a hand on his leg, her thumb drawing circles in the fabric of his pants. They were still wet with champagne.
— Toto — Elisabeth said, softly — I can tell when you're just tired and when something's really wrong. Right now there's something’s wrong.
— Liesl — he said, bringing a hand to her face. She leaned her head into his palm.
— First of all, we're best friends, aren't we? Better yet, partners in crime — she said, a smile appearing on her face — And partners in crime count on each other in both good times and bad.
Toto looked away from her, as if he was wondering whether or not he should speak.
— Tell me what happened. Please.
— I was thinking, Elisabeth — he said.
— About what?
— I think you're wasting your time with me.
She blinked in disbelief.
— What do you mean by that?
— Elisabeth, I'm not the man for you — Toto stated, looking up at her. She looked into his brown eyes, and she could see pain. Her head was spinning, with thousands of questions overlapping one another.
“It can't be, it can't be”, she thought, feeling a lump forming in her throat.
— Are you… Are you breaking up with me, Toto? — she asked, voice shaky.
He blinked.
— No, no, never, that's not it, Liesl — Toto answered, tucking a strand of damp hair behind her ear.
— So what is it?
— It's just… I was watching you talk to Nico and I felt bad.
— Are you jealous?
— Not jealous, Liesl. Guilty.
— But why do you feel… Guilty?
— I feel guilty for tying you to a life with me. I feel guilty for making you live your life with an older, divorced, father of two, whose job is traveling the world to see cars running in circles.
She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
— Do you think I'd have freedom if I were with Nico?
He hesitated for a few seconds.
— Well, maybe…
— You know Nico is married, right? Married, and very much in love with his wife.
— Elisabeth, Nico isn't the problem.
— So, what is?
— It's the… Idea of Nico.
— I'm sorry, Toto, but I don’t understand.
The team principal buried his face in his hands, clearly frustrated. She took a deep breath. Elisabeth definitely hadn’t expected to be having this conversation with Toto on a day that was supposed to be so happy for them. He looked up at her again.
— What I'm trying to say… Is that everything could be better if you were with a man like him. A man your age, who might share the same ambitions as you, the same desires for the future. You don't have that with me. You never will.
— And… Where did you draw this conclusion from?
— You looked happy when you were talking to him.
— Toto — she said with a sigh — You know there's no handcuffs on my wrists tying me to you, right?
— Yes, but…
— Now it’s your turn to listen, honey — she interrupted him, getting up on her knees, taking his face in her hands — I didn't choose to fall in love with you. But, I chose to fight my feelings. I also chose the moment to surrender to this passion I felt for you because I was tired of lying to you and to myself about what I felt.
He gazed at you in silence.
— That night, right here, in this very hotel, when you said that two words were enough for you to be mine, I saw you reach out your hand to me so we could jump off a cliff together — she recalled — The fall would be long, uncertain, and could most likely end up with both of us injured. But I took your hand anyway. I jumped off the cliff with you. Do you know why?
— Why?
— Because, even though I knew it wouldn't be easy, even though I knew I would have to face everyone's judgment, I trusted you. I do trust you, Torger Christian Wolff. I like you. I — she caught mid-sentence for a few seconds. Elisabeth always hesitated in saying those three little words — I'm with you.
— With me?
— Yes. With you. With you, and everything that comes with you. With your quirks, your flaws, your qualities. With your work, and with your children. I'm with you.
Toto smiled at Elisabeth. It was a wide, genuine smile.
— I don't know why you think we don't have the same ambitions — she continued — I want to make this team win as much as you do. I want to make people see Mercedes for the greatness it has. My biggest ambition is to do it all by your side.
— We will, Liesl — he whispered — We will.
— And about my wishes for the future… I have no doubt we share those too, Toto. I wish as much as you do to see Ben and Rosi grow up happy, in an environment full of love, because they deserve it. Again, we're in this together, honey.
— Don’t you have… Other desires?
— What do you mean?
— Don't you want children?
Elisabeth felt her heart jump in her chest. They’d never talked specifically about children.
Well, children that were theirs, at least. Like any girl raised in a traditional family, Elisabeth had dreamed of having a house full of kids. As the youngest of three children, she had never lived without company, let alone love. Lennon's birth had made her desire to start a family grow.
However, getting to know Ben and Rosi, she felt like that wish had come true. At least that's what she thought.
— I do want that, Toto — she said softly — And you gave it to me. You gave me Ben and Rosi, and I love them as if they were my own children.
— I mean… Children that are ours.
Ever since the event in Monaco where Toto had told her she would make a great mother, the thought of having a child with him had never left Elisabeth's mind. Every day, when she took her birth control, she thought about what it would be like if, by some chance, she got pregnant.
The thought always took her into a spiral, imagining what it would be like to see her belly grow, how birth would be like, how Ben and Rosi would be with the baby, what his face would look like. In Elisabeth's mind, he would have blue eyes like Lennon's, untamed dark hair like Toto's and the chin so characteristic of her father. A beautiful baby.
— I have dreamed of it, but I understand that today is not our focus. But, that’s okay. We have time.
— You have time, Elisabeth. You are 29. I do not.
She blinked.
— Toto, you sound like you're 83 and not just 43.
— 43 is old.
— Only in your head. My father wasn't young when I was born. He was 37 and it didn't stop him doing anything with me. I had as amazing of a childhood as I would have had if he was younger.
— What if I can't give our child an amazing childhood?
Elisabeth laughed.
— Toto, you're thinking too much about someone who doesn't even exist yet.
— But he will — he said, his voice steady — And I don't want to do anything wrong. I don't want him to go through what I went through. Anything.
Taking his face between her hands, she looked at him with a tender expression.
— And he won't. Because you're going to be his father, and you will never do wrong by him.
The shadow of a smile appeared on Toto's lips as his eyes filled with tears. She wrapped him in a tight hug, placing a kiss on his temple as he nestled his face into the crook of her neck. Elisabeth remained there in silence for a while, her fingers stroking his hair.
It was in those moments of vulnerability that she realized how much she wanted to be there, with him, no matter if he was smiling or crying. It was those moments that made Elisabeth sure she loved him.
Suddenly, Toto looked up at her.
— Liesl — he said in a whisper.
— Yeah?
— I love you.
Now, it was her turn to start crying.
— You love me? — she mumbled softly.
— Very much.
She had never felt so happy in your life. Her eyes were wet again, and she looked at him with a silly smile on her face. Elisabeth felt as if she was dreaming and at any moment she would be awakened by the alarm clock on her nightstand.
— I love you too, Toto — she replied, before pulling his face against hers into a kiss that tasted slightly of the salt of their tears.

剣が君 特典ドラマCD 若葉風奇譚 ~江戸花嫁騒動の巻~
Ken ga Kimi Tokuten Drama CD - Strange Tales of the Early Summer Breeze ~Edo Bride Scandal Volume~
Nine track hour or so long drama. No spoilers. As usual, Chinese source with light Japanese referencing.
**Please don’t move this translation or claim it as your own.**
Track 1 - Prologue
Everyone: M-Marriage?!
Enishi: Shh! You’re too loud!
Tsuzuramaru: S-Sorry… but, Miss is getting married…?
Enishi: Well, who wouldn’t be surprised? That one day our princess would actually become a bride… Ugh, those pink cheeks, that silky skin— I can't believe it’s all going to another guy…Gaaah! Princess!!
Saneaki: No, wait, are you sure? It’s so sudden it’s a bit hard to believe.
Suzukake: S-Saneaki’s right! What if you got it wrong? If… if… she got married, I’d get lonely…
Sakyo: You two need to calm down. No matter how much you panic, the problem won’t solve itself. First, let’s listen to what Enishi-dono has to say.
Sakyo: Now then, Enishi-dono. Quickly, tell us what is happening. Hurry and tell us everything you know…!
Kei: You’re the one who needs to calm down! You’re gonna kill him! Let go!
Sakyo: Ah, my deepest apologies. I got a little too… very well, please explain.
Enishi: *gasp* *gasp*...I saw heaven for a second there…
Saneaki: You were really hanging on by a thread there, Enishi-dono.
Enishi: As if you cared about me at all!
Enishi: Anyway, I understand how Sakyo feels. I don’t want to accept this just as much as you guys. The princess getting married to some man…
Tsuzuramaru: I don’t want to think about it!
Enishi: Exactly, to not think about it is to not believe it.
Kei: You’re the one who said it, how could you not believe it?!
Enishi: It’s true I don’t believe it, but I heard it myself.
Suzukake: Heard it? From where?
Enishi: I went to a cloth dealer I knew, and he was talking to me about how his son was getting married soon. Was bragging about how amazing his partner was. I was listening pretty intently, but the more he spoke, the more I thought he was talking about our princess. Eventually I figured out that he *was* talking about our princess, so I ran without even finishing my sake!
Sakyo: And then you summoned us here, yes? I will not say anything about you drinking in broad daylight, I understand the situation well enough.
Enishi. That’s right. That’s why I had to gather all my friends from our journey together from the bridal procession. This is the most serious of emergencies, right? It looked like the cloth dealer’s wedding gift was almost done being prepared, so I thought it would be better to tell you guys as soon as possible.
Kei: Ha. This is stupid. I thought something had happened, but that’s it?
Saneaki: Kei-dono? What’s wrong?
Kei: What do you mean what’s wrong? Cut it out! I was wondering why we had to be called here when it’s just about a girl getting married.
Enishi: You say that, but weren’t you the quickest here?
Kei: Shut up! I… just happened to be nearby!
Tsuzuramaru: Hm? But on my way here a man that looked just like you sped right past me. Did they just happen to look alike? I was walking pretty quickly but he still managed to pass me and disappeared. What a truly extraordinary person…
Kei: *punches Tsuzuramaru* S-S-S-S-Shut up! Stop yabbering! Besides! Enishi, I don’t believe what you’re saying at all. You must have made a mistake when you were all smashed.
Saneaki: Kei-dono is right. If she really were to be married to someone, she would have no reason to hide it from us—
Suzukake: Aaaaah!!
Kei: W-What is it now?
Suzukake: I-I just remembered… when I was delivering medicine earlier, I passed by Princess’ storefront. I think I saw some congratulatory gifts from a dowry being brought there...
Saneaki: What? If that’s true, then what Enishi said might have some weight…
Tsuzuramaru: Ah… it seems that way…
Enishi: Why don’t you guys trust me but trust Suzukake?!
Tsuzuramaru: If this is really happening then… Miss is really being married to some man… Aaaaagh…
Kei: Argh! You’re so loud! Don’t hold your head and start screaming! Oi, Sakyo, don’t just sit there, say something!
Sakyo: Unforgivable.
Kei: Hah? Why’d you stand up for?
Kei: ...Why’d you take your sword? …What are you planning on doing?
Sakyo: What, you ask?
Sakyo: Is it not obvious? I will cut that man.
Suzukake: Cut?! C-Calm down, Sakyo-san!
Tsuzuramaru: Y-You can’t do that!
Saneaki: That’s right, Sagihara-dono. You shouldn’t cut people.
Sakyo: But…!
Saneaki: Even if you injured him, that would change nothing.
Tsuzuramaru: Exactly!
Saneaki: It should be enough to exile him to a deserted island—
Tsuzuramaru: Saneaki!! You can’t do that either!
Kei: Saying some real scary stuff like that… are you forgetting there’s a patrolman here listening?
Enishi: In any case we’re not accepting this marriage. Everybody agree?
Sakyo: I have no complaints. This situation must be stopped, no matter the means.
Kei: You’re scaring us, you need to cool off!
Suzukake: I… I’ve always wished for the Princess’ happiness…so if she really wants to get married, I won’t stop her. But… but, if she’s hesitating even a little… then I hope I’ll be able to convince her to think about it again.
Tsuzuramaru: I’m the same. No matter what, I have to show her my feelings first!
Sakyo: Indeed. I may have been a bit rash...
Kei: A *bit*? A bit my ass. I don’t care what you guys do as long as you’re not cutting down people. And no exiling either!
Saneaki: I will think about it.
Kei: Don’t ‘think about it’, don’t even think about it at all!
Saneaki: No matter the case, I cannot pretend I didn’t hear about this. If this marriage is real, then I am concerned about why she didn’t talk to us about it. This needs to be investigated.
Enishi: Right! For the princess, let’s break this marriage!
Everyone except Kei: Right!
Kei: We’re not breaking anything, didn’t we *just say* we’re investigating? Geez… nothing bad’s gonna happen… right?
---
Track 2 - Kei
Ah, geez, what’s all this fuss about? Those guys got together and made so much noise over nothing, what an eyesore. It’s just her getting married to someone, what’s the problem?
W-Well, it’s worrying that she didn’t mention it to any of us. But just a bit. Just a bit, that’s all!
Hm? That guy ahead of me… isn’t he the young master of the cloth dealers’ Enishi talked about? But who’s the girl next to him?
(Looks like they’re pretty close… they’re walking so close, and they look happy together.
Don’t tell me, this guy’s about to get married, but he’s going on dates with girls in broad daylight?!
Don’t mess around. So he’s not planning on properly taking care of her after all?
That girl’s always working hard no matter where she is, she’s strong-willed but gentle at heart, and she’s an unimaginably good woman. But here you are… Dammit… how could someone like you snatch her up?)
Unforgivable.
Oi, you over there--
Who’s there?! Don’t bother me--
Huh? Ah, i-it’s you?! Wh-What are you doing here… d-don’t you have to watch the store?
Eh? Ah… you were just coming back from the dojo? Ah, well, there’s nothing wrong with that.
(Nothing wrong with that, my ass! It’ll get ugly if she stays here! If she sees that young master walking around with another woman, she’ll get hurt for sure! I need to think of a way to get her out of here fast. Agh! Why do I have to do something like this? But I can’t just leave it...)
Uh… *ahem* ah, um.. that’s… um… ah, that’s right! You look like you’re getting hungry.
You’re not? Just say you are, idiot!
Anyway, there’s a good teahouse over there. Let’s go! Right now!
---
(*sigh* Speak of the devil and they’ll appear, huh… but looking at her, it doesn’t look like she saw the young master. But now that I’ve seen that, to let a guy who hangs out with women like that become her husband-- I’m definitely not going to allow it. But… how am I gonna tell her that? …*sigh*)
‘What’s wrong’? What a sleazy guy! It’s because I’ve been thinking about you that I have this headache!
Huh? N-No, it’s nothing… Anyway, hurry up and eat it. Look, all those fresh beans in this anmitsu is definitely going to taste good-- ah, BEANS?! Ugh, I almost ate them…
Hah? I’m not being weird at all! I’m the same as always! Just hurry up and eat it! Here, you can have my portion too.
(What the hell am I doing? I’m getting way too distracted… Anyway, all I have to say is: “Hurry up and turn down the marriage”. A sleaze like him is going to bring her nothing but unhappiness. The time to stop it is now. No, I *have* to say it! “You gotta give up a guy like that”!)
Hey, you. Just give it up.
Idiot, why are you so dazed for? Did you think I wouldn’t know? I was going to find out why you didn’t tell me. But, I have to say this.
If you keep going like this, then you’re just going to get hurt. I won’t say more on what bad things could happen. So think about it again.
That’s true. You wouldn’t understand what I’m talking about. Because you didn’t see what I saw. But I saw it myself, with my own eyes.
I always thought that as long as you were happy, it would be enough. But I realised this wasn’t right. From now on, I don’t want to see you in pain either. That’s why, just believe in me, and think about it!
Ah! I see, you were already planning on giving it up?
--Why are you giving the anmitsu I gave you back?
Hah? I was trying so hard to get you to give up the anmitsu that you decided you won’t eat anymore?
N-No! I wasn’t talking about the anmitsu!
W-Well, it’s true that I don’t like beans, but I don’t care if someone else eats them! Besides! Being this serious over a bowl of anmitsu, that doesn’t even make sense! I wasn’t talking about that at all!
Anyway! Isn’t there something more important?!
That… you know… what I’m trying to say is-- argh, dammit! What I’ve been trying to say is that I want your future to be happy!
(Huh… huh? What… did I just say?)
*Clapping*
A-ah, no! Wanting you to be happy… that… that wasn’t what I meant! I-- aghhh!!
T-The money… I’m leaving it here! Bye!!
(What am I doing…? I was supposed to have her give up on the marriage completely… in the end I said so many unnecessary things… I’ll… never be able to face her again… Guh…)
---
Track 3 - Suzukake
Suzukake: (There she is… it’s the princess. She’s always sweeping the storefront at this time. If she’s really getting married… I won’t be able to meet up with her casually anymore.
I’ll get lonely.
Hey, Princess, are you really going to get married? Did you really want to get married?
I want to ask her, but I’m scared…
Ah! She spotted me… I… have to go. Even though I don’t know what to say… I-I’ll just talk like I normally do!)
H-Hey, Princess! The weather’s good today, isn’t it?
Eh? Why was I hiding behind the wagon? So I could come and see you— no, hide and seek! I was playing hide and seek!
Mhm! Y-Yep… I was playing by myself! Ah, no… a person can’t play by themselves… uh… um…
(Ugh… she’s going to think I’m weird…)
Eh? U-Uh huh, yeah, I came to see you. Because I have something I wanted to say to you.
(If I say that then there’s no way I’m gonna run away. I don’t want to either! I’m gonna listen to what she has to say.)
Hey… you haven’t been thinking about wanting to get married before, right?
I’m sorry for asking out of the blue… but I really have to know. You might not remember what happened during the bridal procession clearly anymore, but I still do.
I thought you looked really pretty in your bridal kimono then.
You were just a fake bride then but… but, did the princess really have someone you wanted to get married to one day? Was there... a place you wanted to go with someone?
(Why am I asking these kinds of questions? It’s because… I don’t want to let you go. If you go away with that person… I’ll get lonely. My heart will start hurting, and I’ll feel like I want to cry. Hey… don’t go off to another man’s side! Don’t go, Princess!)
Please, tell me. Do you want to get married?
...One day…?
(That’s a lie… you’re about to get married soon, aren’t you? And then we won’t be able to play, we won't be able to laugh together like this anymore.)
*sobs* Princess! You can’t! Don’t go anywhere! I don’t want that!! *cries*
I won’t be able to hug you like this anymore! I don’t want that! Hey, don’t go, alright?
I’ll do whatever I have to to make you smile! If you ever get hurt, I’ll be able to heal you quickly! No… I’d never let you get hurt! That’s why, Princess, stay with me forever!
Enishi: What the hell are you guys doing in public?
Suzukake: Aaah! Enishi?! Let me go! Princess is— Princess is—!
Enishi: How could I let you cry out on the streets? Can’t you see you’re worrying the princess?
Suzukake: How could you be so calm? Separating us is so mean!
Enishi: Hah?
Suzukake: The princess is disappearing soon! She’s gonna get taken away by a man I don’t even know!!!
Enishi: W-Wait! If you say it like that then you’re gonna make me sound like a human trafficker! Look! The people around us are staring! Do you want the police to come too?!
Suzukake: *wailing*
Enishi: O-Oi! Don’t move around so much! A-Ah, you’ll hit the wagon! Aaaagh!!
---
Track 4 - Enishi
*sigh* That got pretty bad… Thanks for letting me rest inside the restaurant, Princess. Suzukake kept coming back too, I wonder what happened?
Ah… you don’t know either. I see.
(Well, he’s probably coming back to listen to any rumours about the marriage… Even though he beat me to it, it looks like no one will bother us for the time being. Plus it’s just the two of us in the restaurant… I guess even the heavens are helping me.)
Ah, no, it’s nothing. Anyway, do you have some time now, Princess?
I see. It’s started to get calmer. That’s good. Hey, Princess, how about we talk for a bit? Here, come sit over here.
(Alright, alright! Everything’s going smoothly. Even though I want to look at Princess like this a bit more, the marriage thing is the most important thing at hand right now. I even made some special preparations for this. I have to change her mind no matter what.)
Hey, Princess. There’s actually something I want to give you.
Here, isn’t it beautiful? This kanzashi.
When I saw it I thought it would suit you so well I decided to buy it. It’s my present for you.
Don’t say that you can’t accept it, you’ll make the kanzashi cry! Besides, there’s nobody else aside from you I want to give it to, so you should take it.
Don’t move, let me put it on.
Come on, if you keep moving around I won’t be able to put it on properly, right?
Yep! I knew it’d suit you! As expected of someone like me, not bad! It’s made out of wood like the ones used for scabbards. Don’t you think that’s nice? You can say it matches the accessories I’m wearing.
Eh? You’re saying this is the first time you know what a scabbard is made out of?
Haha, I’m not *that* knowledgeable yet! Ahaha…
(Uuh… Even though I’m happy she just complimented me, we’re not here to talk about what it’s made out of… I thought it would remind her about the marriage… As expected of the princess, I can’t just use any plain old method… in that case…)
Buuuuut I’m a bit worried…
Why, you ask? Because the princess is just so cute, I’m worried that another man will steal you away.
Maybe that kanzashi can be proof that you should be by my side forever.
Hey… if I said that to you, how would you react? I don’t want to give a princess this cute to someone else.
I’m not playing around, this is how I really feel.
Princess, don’t run away. I want you to listen to me properly. The man you love the most… what’s he like?
You must have thought of someone. Even if you tried to hide it, I can see it clearly. Princess, please think about it carefully.
The man that you’re thinking of right now, is he better than me?
I don’t plan to lose to him. If you doubt my feelings, I’ll prove it to you. I’ll fight him if I have to.
Don’t stop me, there are times where men have to get into battles like this one.
I plan to bring that man here, and have a fight with him fair and square right in front of you.
What? He’s in the house? That’s perfect. Could you do me a favour and bring him out?
(The fact that this guy can just come in and out of her house in broad daylight… I’m so jealous!!— No, he’s about a hundred years too early staying here! Who is this outstanding guy? I’ll personally challenge you! If I win, she’ll definitely change her mind about the marriage!)
He’s out. I’ve been waiting for you. Now, it’s time to duel—!
Ah, huh? Um… I’m pretty sure you’re the princess’ father…?
(Why did her father come out? Hah? I just realised I didn’t specify that I was looking for her marriage partner. Haha, that’s true, if it’s not about love then of course the person she loves the most would be her father. Uh-huh… I see. So… my super serious confession didn’t get through to her at all? P-Princess… I can feel sad too, you know…)
Eh, ah… no, father… fighting fair and square… it was just a figure of speech! F-Father? Why are you grabbing my shoulder smiling like that?
Eh? A cooking battle?
You’re happy because there hasn’t been any youngsters with a backbone to challenge you lately…?? D-Don’t joke, how could a ronin like me challenge the owner of a restaurant?
N-No… y-you made a mistake— this is all just a misunderstanding!!
W-Wait!! Don’t pull me! I know I’m carrying a sword but I’ve never used a knife before!
AAH!! Princess, help me!! Princessss!!!!
---
Track 5 - Interlude
Kei, Suzukake, Enishi: *sigh*
Saneaki: What’s wrong, you three? Why do you look so worn out?
Kei: Why did I… in front of so many people…
Suzukake: *sobs* No… Princess….
Enishi: J-Julienning… no more…
Sakyo: This time it’s Enishi-dono? What a predicament...
Tsuzuramaru: W-What exactly happened…?
Saneaki: Enishi-dono, don’t you have anything to say?
Enishi: I… I’ll never give up! Princesss!!
Saneaki: It’s no use. I can’t get through to him.
Tsuzuramaru: What about you, Kei? What happened?
Kei: I have nothing to say… except… except. That cloth dealer bastard was getting real chummy with another woman!
Tsuzuramaru: What?!
Sakyo: He is already going to be wed soon… and he was with another woman? Unbelievable…
Saneaki: Even if we ignored Enishi-dono for now, if Kei-dono said so then it must be true.
Enishi: Why do you always have to say things that wound my heart?
Suzukake: *sobs* Princess… *cries*
Saneaki: Suzukake-dono…
Tsuzuramaru: I can’t let this go on! I’m going to go find Miss now!
Saneaki: Wait! Tsuzuramaru-dono!
Tsuzuramaru: Don’t stop me! There’s nothing to say about a guy like him!
Saneaki: Ah, he’s gone…It looks like he went without a plan… will he be alright?
Saneaki: Now then, Sagihara-dono, what should we do?
Sakyo: You… To hand her over to a person like that…
Saneaki: …It looks like there isn’t a plan here either. *sigh*
---
Track 6 - Tsuzuramaru
Tsuzuramaru: *panting* I made it…
(Miss… she’s inside. Calm down, Tsuzuramaru. She’s just the same as usual, helping out at home, she hasn’t left the house yet. I can still make it. I should still make it! Now’s the time to be a man, as if I’m staking my life on this!)
*stomach grumbles*
(For my stomach to growl even at a time like this… it makes me hate myself. No… but… ah… that smells so good. It looks like they’re cooking something right now. Are these dried sweet potatoes?
That smell… Miss’ food always whets the appetite. My stomach’s been completely captured. Even if it’s the same dish, if you look carefully, you can tell she put a lot of effort into it. A woman who meticulously works no matter what it is… that’s Miss… I… I…)
*stomach grumbles*
(Ugh… I want to yell out how I feel about Miss, but I’m so hungry I can’t even summon the energy…)
M-Miss? Why did you come outside?
Is that so? Because you saw me? H-How embarrassing. I seem to have gotten in the way of your cooking.
(No, this is a good opportunity. If I want Miss to cancel the marriage now’s the moment!)
Miss… actually, I’ve been wanting to tell you—
Ugh… this… Actually, I haven't eaten properly since morning because of my worries…
I came at a good time?
T-Taste testing? Are you saying I can help taste what you’re making right now?
(What? N-No… why did I come here in the first place? But to decline her offer would be a shame… and I’m hungry anyway…)
T-Then if it’s alright with you, I’ll try a little.
Y-Yes! Excuse me…
Usually the master does all the food preparations. It’s strange to see Miss doing that today.
Hm? A lot of customers came and there weren't enough ingredients? So he went to get some?
Ahaha, these customers can really eat a lot, don't they?
Eh? They weren’t eaten? He just did a lot of cooking? And made a lot of food?
Hm… I don’t really understand, but that’s unfortunate, isn’t it?
(Wait… doesn’t that mean it’s just the two of us here right now? W-What…? My heart suddenly won’t calm down… Anyway, I need to calm down first…)
Sorry, Miss! I was just thinking about something. Ah... did you need me to taste that sweet potato?
Then I’ll help myself.
Delicious! It’s so good! I could taste the flavour of the hot sweet potato as soon as it hit my mouth!
I’m not just being polite! Miss will definitely be a good wife one day.
(Hm? Wife? That’s right… I seem to have forgotten something important. What was it?)
Oh, did you need me to taste that too?
I’m very grateful. Then, if you’ll allow me…
As expected, delicious!
(Ah… I’m so lucky... If I were to marry Miss… would it be like this everyday? Marry? ...Marry? Huh… Something doesn’t seem right. I’ve forgotten something… but I can’t remember.
No, I should be focusing on helping taste test the dishes Miss made herself! If I don’t do it properly there’ll be retribution!)
The flavour of this fried fish is endless! I can’t stop my chopsticks! It’s so good I want to eat it with rice! Eh? Can I? Then I’ll help myself. I’ll eat this rice ball, then!
Ah! So satisfying!
Miss’ future husband is going to be so lucky! Hahahaha….
---
Kei: So. Why did you come back so casually after going out to eat food?!!
Tsuzuramaru: I-I’m ashamed of myself…
Kei: A samurai should stick to his word! Where did all that energy you had when you rushed out this morning go?!!
Tsuzuramaru: Ah… it’s because Miss’ food was so good, I accidentally forgot my original objective…
Suzukake: How lucky, you got to eat the princess’ homemade cooking.
Enishi: Good grief. Let’s not even talk about the food I made, all I got was severe criticism. Huu...
Tsuzuramaru: I-I’m sorry. Hey, where’s Saneaki?
Kei: He just went out. If he can’t do it either, then there’s nothing we’ll be able to do.
---
Track 7 - Saneaki
(The sun is about to set, and the number of pedestrians passing the bridges has fallen. If the information obtained is correct, the cloth dealer’s young master should pass by here around this time. To get to the truth about these marriage rumours, and the fact that he’s been close to other women, I’ll get to the bottom of this here. If there are any surprises…
No… of course, I don’t plan to cut him down. But if it’s just... the back of the blade, then there should be no problem.
W-What was I just thinking? I’m just going to talk to him.
But… contaminating her beautiful and flawless heart, this is a very serious crime.
Hm? That figure… It’s her? Why? At this time?
I can’t believe I’d see her while waiting for the young master… if she asks me what I’m doing, I’ll have no way to answer her.
Ugh, did she notice me?)
What a coincidence.
To meet in a place like this. Although… where were you going at a time like this?
Tsuzuramaru-dono forgot something at the restaurant?
(What was he doing? That Tsuzuramaru-dono…)
Ah, if that’s the case, I can return it to him. No, it’s fine. I have plans to see him again soon, so it’s no trouble.
Hm? Is something wrong?
Are you that surprised that he and I made plans to meet?
(Ah! No, if you think about it, it is strange! I usually live in the mountains far away from Edo, it’s already unusual for me to be on the streets. Not only that, but to also say I’m meeting with Tsuzuramaru-dono, she’ll definitely think something happened.)
Ah, no, Tsuzuramaru-dono and I were… I know, we promised to train together.
Yes, it was a favour he asked of me. I planned to meet up with him for a few duels.
(Looks like she believes me. So the princess's heart is this pure and flawless.
Plus, my heart is hurting as well.)
Hm? N-No, you don’t have to join us. Although I’m aware you're very passionate about the naginata, it is not appropriate to meet men at night.
Even if you ask me… I can’t…
(Oh no… hearing me mention practice… her eyes are sparkling… If I say it was just a lie, then she’ll know I deceived her. But, I can’t bear to refuse her like this.
Is there something I could say that wouldn’t hurt her but make her give up…?)
M-My apologies, but wouldn’t it be too difficult for you? This will be very intense training. It’s not something someone should go into without being fully aware of what it is.
What kind of training is it? Well… that…
(F-For me to lie to a pure-hearted girl… please forgive me for my sins!)
We will cross blades at Mount Nabebuta. With a single slice, we will be able to cleave through rocks and trees, split even the earth and ocean, make mountains erupt flames, to raise gales on flat ground, this atypical power passed under the heavens, the true swordsmanship that governs the universe and all living things! That! Is that we will be training for.
(Is what I said, but what sort of samurai like that would exist?! Even someone like her would notice…!)
I-I see… you think that’s impressive.
No… that… isn’t much.
(S-She believed me? E-Even though I was the one who said it… but to believe even those words is really… Ah… Her trusting eyes… seeing them now pains me!)
What? You want to watch us despite all that? No! E-Even watching us will be difficult.
The reason? The reason is…
(I’ve reached my limit… if I keep betraying her trust in me and continuing saying nonsense… I… I…—)
There’s no possible way I could do that!!
(Oh, God! Please forgive this most sinful servant of yours!)
---
Track 8 - Sakyo
Everyone: *sigh*
Enishi: Look, even Saneaki looks like he’s gone through a tough battle.
Suzukake: It seems so… Tsuzuramaru aside, Saneaki-san looks so defeated…
Enishi: It looks like the sun is setting soon, I can’t believe the mood got even heavier.
Suzukake: *sigh* We’ve really at the end of our ropes, what do we do now?
Enishi: Oi, Kei, don’t you have any good ideas?
Kei: Don’t ask me, go ask Sagihara. ...Huh? Where did he go?
Enishi: Huh? Now that you say it I haven’t seen him for a while.
Suzukake: Sakyo-san had a really scary face all day, is he going to be alright? When he first heard what Enishi told us, he almost lost his head…
Kei: That was the first time I’ve seen Sagihara make a face that scary before. Don’t tell me… something happened…?
Enishi: No… is what I’d like to say, but I’ve been having a bad feeling about this…
Suzukake: A bad feeling?
Kei: Don’t you remember? When we first met up…
(Flashback)
Sakyo: What, you ask?
Sakyo: Is it not obvious? I will cut that man.
---
Enishi: You don’t think he really took his sword and…?
Suzukake: Eh?! Then we have to go stop him!
Kei: I don’t want to believe it but, with a face like that he really might have gone and done it.
Enishi: In any case, we have to hurry…!
Suzukake: Yep! Come on, Tsuzuramaru, Saneaki-san! You have to pull yourself together for the princess!
Tsuzuramaru: A-Ah, sorry. Now’s not the time to be all down!
Saneaki: Even I had been… Let’s hurry and find Sagihara-dono!
---
Sakyo: Without knowing it I came to the storefront…
(Just thinking about her marriage partner gives me goose bumps all over my body in disgust. To cheat and marry a girl who doesn’t know any better, what a despicable man! Absolutely unforgivable.
Princess. I will definitely rescue you from the claws of this demon!
For that sake… yes, I have no choice but to draw support from the power of my blade!
Oh? It seems I have been discovered.)
Good evening, Princess.
Are you alright? To step outside at night like this is dangerous. You stepped out because you saw me?
Thank you very much.
Truthfully, I came to find you because I had something I wished to talk to you about.
Eh? Everyone has been saying they were looking for you?
(That’s true… everyone has been very worried about this issue. You did not change your mind no matter who came to you… That is why, I will use this sword…!
But I cannot do that in a place with so many people. I must find a place much darker, more quiet, somewhere where nobody can disturb me…)
Princess, are you willing to experience the night breeze with me for a while?
---
Kei: Oi! Is he over there?
Suzukake: He’s not! Where did Sakyo-san take the princess off to?
Kei: Sagihara!! Where are you? Come out!!
Suzukake: Sakyo-san!! Don’t hide anymore!
Tsuzuramaru: He really did go to the store, but I didn’t think we’d be a step too late… I didn’t think he’d take Miss, and not the young master…
Enishi: Sakyo wouldn’t get violent towards the princess, would he?!
Suzukake: N-No way! That wouldn’t happen, right?!
Tsuzuramaru: How could this have happened? Miss!! Where are you?
Saneaki: Isn’t he nearby? We should search the opposite side next…
Sakyo: Oh…?
Everyone: W-We found you!!
Sakyo: W-What is it? Staring at me like I am some exotic creature… and being so loud.
Kei: You have the gall to look that indifferent. We’ve been looking for you!
Sakyo: I do not know what happened, but can you step aside? The princess and I have a place we must go, please do not disturb us.
Suzukake: A place you have to go… w-where?
Enishi: Don’t tell me it’s the Underworld…?
Sakyo: The Underworld? Hm…
Sakyo: Haha. Well, if I am with the Princess, then that place does not sound bad…
Tsuzuramaru: Wh—
Saneaki: I knew it… it’s like that…
Sakyo: I was just teasing, your faces are all so pale. I was simply playing—
Tsuzuramaru: Even if you’re Sakyo, I won’t let you get away with it!
Sakyo: Excuse me—?
Tsuzuramaru: Miss! You can’t lose your life here! Come over here, run!
Sakyo: Where do you think you’re going? Wait!
Enishi: Tsuzuramaru, that guy’s getting the spotlight! As if I’ll let him! Just you wait—
Saneaki: …There’s no choice.
Suzukake: W-Wait! Everybody!
Kei: That idiot! Dammit…
---
Sakyo: I… I finally caught you… Princess… come, this time… you and I will… together… go…
Tsuzuramaru: I… I won’t let you! Sakyo! Think about it again properly!
Sakyo: No matter how many times I think, my feelings will not change!
Kei: You finally drew your sword, huh, you blockhead!
Saneaki: Sagihara-dono! Do you really think doing this will make the princess happy?
Suzukake: Exactly, Sakyo-san! Come on, put the sword down!
Sakyo: I politely decline the offer. No matter how many times my hand must grasp this sword, I must tell the princess how I feel!
Tsuzuramaru: I won’t let you! Miss, please hide behind me!
Sakyo: You’re naive, Tsuzuramaru-dono.
Sakyo: Oh? There’s a flying riceball in the sky!
Tsuzuramaru: What? Where?
Sakyo: An opening!
Tsuzuramaru: Dammit! Miss!
Enishi: What the hell are you doing, Tsuzuramaru? How could you fall for that?
Sakyo: Hehe. For Tsuzuramaru-dono to think he would win against me, he is a hundred years early for that!
Sakyo: Princess. I truly want to bring you to a very beautiful place. But please, allow me to use this blade to… to blade to…
Everyone: STOP!!
Sakyo: ...give to you! From now on, my family treasures and myself will belong to you!
Everyone: WHAT???
Sakyo: Even after these five’s persuasion, you haven't changed your mind. Since you still want to be paired with someone, then you will have no reason to be paired with that person! Allow me to take you as my bride! So, Princess, you no longer need to be by another person’s side!
Kei: Can you not make it about that?!
Enishi: Right! Right! If you can propose to her can I propose too?!
Kei: That’s not the point either!!
Suzukake: You can be with the princess when you become the groom, right? Then I want to become the groom!
Tsuzuramaru: W-What?! Then me too!! I want to eat Miss’ delicious food every day!
Saneaki: No, no, a groom is a man who can manage the family. If that’s the case then I am the best choice, when it comes to cooking I have some confidence in myself.
Kei: Did any of you guys even listen to me?!!!!
Sakyo: Princess, you do not have to listen to the others. Throw away the cloth dealer’s young master. All you have to do is choose me. Come, Princess!
---
Tsuzuramaru: M-Miss? Miss? Are you alright?
Enishi: She must be overwhelmed with how she couldn’t even cut in…
Saneaki: You’re asking what this is all about?
Sakyo: What do you mean? We…
Suzukake: We heard you were getting married… so…
Enishi: Right, and it’s the young master from the cloth dealer, right? But I don’t think that guy will make you happy.
Kei: Sorry, but I saw that guy go out with another girl.
Tsuzuramaru: That’s why we’ve been coming to you, so you can think about this marriage more carefully!
Tsuzuramaru: Eh? You haven’t been thinking about getting married?
Sakyo: But your house seems to have a dowry…
Saneaki: The dowry is your neighbour’s?
Suzukake: Eh? You’re just minding it because they’re not home?
Tsuzuramaru: W-Wait, but there’s been rumours that Miss and the young master were getting married?
Kei: O-Oi, Enishi! What’s going on? Didn’t you say the young master’s getting married to her?
Enishi: Yeah, that’s what I heard! And I was listening properly! The young master’s marriage partner is energetic, is good at cooking, her voice is as clear as a bell, and even flowers will bloom on the road where she walks. She’s so slender she looks like she would break at a touch, but her willpower is stronger than most people. And the most important thing: I heard she has a cute smile!
Enishi: It’s definitely the princess! Even now I think I’m right! That’s how it is! What do you think, you lot?
Tsuzuramaru: …I agree.
Suzukake: That’s true…
Saneaki: I see… Well, it’s not like I don’t understand how Enishi-dono feels.
Kei: WHERE?! You got it completely wrong!!
Sakyo: Wait a second… so what you are saying… is that this is all… a misunderstanding?
Enishi: Ah… It… seems… so. Hehe, but knowing the princess isn’t getting married is good news!
Kei: It’s. Not. Good. News. At. ALLLL!!!
---
Track 9 - Ending
Sakyo: Apologies for intruding.
Tsuzuramaru: Oh, if it isn’t Sakyo.
Sakyo: Tsuzuramaru-dono? And everyone else seems to have gathered here...
Enishi: Yep, and with you we’ll all be present. Can you sit with everyone? Sit here.
Sakyo: To visit the princess again… it seems everyone had the same idea.
Suzukake: Mhm, I caused trouble for the princess, so I bought some tea sweets as a gift for her.
Saneaki: Everyone all came here for the same reason.
Enishi: Anyway, it doesn’t need to be said, doesn’t matter which one of us it is, we all want to see the princess, right? Right, Kei?
Kei: D-Don’t touch me! You’re the one who needs to reflect on himself the most!
Tsuzuramaru: But, even though we brought trouble to Miss, to know that this time it was all just a misunderstanding was good. After reflecting my stomach couldn’t help but grumble, what can you do?
Enishi: Well… can’t you see Sakyo’s dripping in cold sweat?
Sakyo: T-That is not because I am here to apologise… please do not talk about it. You are being spiteful.
Suzukake: Let’s calm down, the both of you. Enishi, don’t make Sakyo angry.
Enishi: Alright, alright. Well… why isn’t the princess here yet?
Sakyo: Oh? That is strange… did she leave the restaurant today?
Saneaki: Yes, her father was the one who seated us.
Kei: That’s unusual. Usually she’ll rush back to welcome us. What is she doing…?
Tsuzuramaru: Don’t tell me… she’s been mad at us these past few days, so she doesn’t want to see us anymore?
Suzukake: Eh?! We didn’t make the princess hate us, did we?
Enishi: N-No way… we’re talking about the kind-hearted princess here! There’s no way that’s it…
Saneaki: But if it is… we should prepare ourselves just in case.
Kei: Don’t say something like that so seriously.
Sakyo: It does not look like we need to do that kind of preparation.
Suzukake: Ah! Princess! You came! That’s good!
Suzukake: Eh? The kimono you’re wearing today isn’t the same as the one you normally wear.
Tsuzuramaru: It… it suits you well!
Saneaki: I see… you got your other one wet, so you changed your clothes…
Enishi: Oh, it was just that? Buuuut… hmhm! Not bad! It’s more mature than your usual look, it adds to your womanliness!
Kei: Why’re you saying stuff like that? She hasn’t changed from how she normally is, or whatever.
Sakyo: It is good if that is the case. Kei-dono, why can’t you look at her?
Kei: Shut up!
Sakyo: Heh. Well, I cannot say I do not understand that kind of feeling too. That said, Princess, this is a gift to make up for that day. Please accept it.
Sakyo: No, please do. If you cannot, then my feelings will not be able to recover.
Sakyo: Phew… now I will be able to breathe in relief.
Tsuzuramaru: I’m really sorry, Miss. I got you involved in all that… Haha, seeing you able to laugh like that, it’s already something I can appreciate.
Suzukake: Ah, a customer is calling for you. Sorry for disturbing your work.
Saneaki: Don’t mind us, you should go back to work.
Kei: We’ll call you after we decide what to order.
Tsuzuramaru: Even though we caused nothing but trouble for her… she’s still… such a kind-hearted girl!
Sakyo: Yes, I agree.
Enishi: That’s because she's that kind of princess. That’s why we can’t stop watching her. Ignoring the whole thing with the cloth dealer’s young master, a wonderful woman like her, even if it was someone else we wouldn’t let her go easily.
Saneaki: The so-called fusion of reality and rumors. The customers watch over her too.
Suzukake: You’re right… they’re looking at her and talking about something.
Tsuzuramaru: Shh. Don’t talk…
Suzukake: What’s wrong? All of a sudden...
Tsuzuramaru: Those men over there, just now, they were talking about the rumours about Miss…
Tsuzuramaru: WHAAAAT!!
Tsuzuramaru: This time… he wants to get married to Miss???
Everyone: WHAT?!
Sakyo: I have had enough of this!!

i walked with you once (1/?)
also on ffnet | ao3
Fandom: Detective Conan / Case Closed
Summary: When Ai wakes up, she finds herself crying. The warmth on her left hand still lingers from her dream, and she clutches to it before it gets lost in her memories. [Soulmates AU] [Kimi no na wa inspired] [ShinAi] [CoAi] [ShinShi]
Pairing: Kudo Shinichi | Edogawa Conan & Miyano Shiho | Haibara Ai
Genre and Rating: Romance & Supernatural | T
A/N: This is going to be a long one, but you already can see that. I promised myself that I wouldn’t start off more multichapters, especially when Chasing Clouds is still ongoing and I find myself struggling so much for a final chapter, even when I know where it leads. I have, to no one’s surprise, a handful of multichapters I’ve put on hold since 2016 because I just cannot finish CC. Starting a complete new project when I have so many in line ( and many of them fleshed out, outlined, and even drafted chapters for) honestly feels like betrayal (towards myself AND the few readers who still remain) and downright dumbassery. But this story has hit me with the strength of a thousand suns and I just can’t let it die, just as I’ve let all my other wips die. I’ve written, in the past, about different topics— Into your gravity was a story about (un)balance and the dangers of unconditional love; chasing clouds is about the chase, about finding out what you want and who you are; bloom was supposed to be about healing; drops of jupiter, with a premise much similar to this, is a story about finding hope and going against fate… and this, shall I ever finish it, this is going to be story about chances. Fair warning: in order to make this story work, I need to sacrifice a few things, namely, there’s going to be many secondary characters (by my standards lol) who are going to be canon divergent. Ages, relationships and placements will be changed, at that. I won’t write this in the same flowery prose/POV narrative style as CC, because it would take forever, and it’s frankly too hard for me— I don’t want to get stuck again. Most importantly, if you’ve read my previous works and you’re here for the coai/shinshi banter… well… this is not the fic for you. They will have bare minimum interaction, if any at all, throughout this fic (don’t be fooled by the first chapter). Please don’t complain about it in the review section— you literally have three dozen other fics from me you can choose to read instead. So, you were warned :’3

The silver cherry blossom shimmers under the blinking starlight, calling to the shy blue moon hidden away behind copious clouds. The night is silent as the air is cold, and it carries the scent of freshly-cut grass with every footprint that the girl leaves on the snow peppered road. She doesn’t look up, for she knows it’s pointless — there can never be one without the other, even when one is already there.
Her hand reaches out to graze the cold tree bark.
“You’re late.” The boy says, more concerned than reproachful. It brings a quick smirk on her face.
“You’re early.” She retorts, and although she can’t see his face— or remember it, at that— she swears that he rolls his eyes in the most exasperated fashion.
“I thought you weren't coming.” He reaches out for her hand, and there’s a brief second when she ponders whether she should pull away. Eventually, she lets him.
Is this the first time? Have they been doing that for a while now?
If only she could remember.
“Final exams are in two weeks.” She explains, trying not to get distracted by how the warmth of his palm seeps through her fingers. “Some of us want an education, you know. We can’t all be trust-fund kids.”
“Oh, that you do remember.” He huffs, unable to hide a laugh. “But this ,” his lips press against the back of her hand, leaving a sound kiss that almost makes her gasp. “This, you don’t.”
“I— I’m sorry.” She’s grateful that she can’t see his face, because she honestly wouldn’t be able to look at him without combusting had they met in person. “How can you tell?”
“You hesitated.”
“You’re quite observant.”
“Only when it comes to you.”
“And quite the smooth talker, too! I don’t know if I should trust you.”
“Too bad, then, because you’re stuck with me and the stupid tree for eternity.”
“ ‘Eternity’ is a stretch. There are no recorded cases of soulmates transcending multiple lifetimes, you know. There isn’t even actual evidence these shared lucid dreams determine soulmates are even a thing.”
An amused smile spreads over his face, “Are you seriously talking science to me, your life-long dream partner, under the magic glowing tree?”
“That’s what I’m pursuing. I’m going to become a scientist.” So she can figure this out. So she can find out if he’s real.
She straightens her back, ready to stand her ground shall he make fun of her. Instead, his chest swells with pride and the grip of his hand tightens.
“And I’m going to find you. Wherever you’re in the world, I’ll find you.”
His words prompt a coiling in her chest that makes breathing that much difficult, and her fingers move to brush his bangs, searching his eyes in the shadows. “How would you know it’s me?” She smiles with quivering lips, nonetheless genuinely. “You can’t even remember my name.”
The boy places her hand against his cheek, turning his face to leave a kiss on her palm, “When I see you, I’ll know it’s you.”
I remember what you feel like.
A gust of wind blows by, ripping rosy petals off the glowing tree. They mix with the falling snow in a flurry of silvers and reds before fading into the darkest night.

When Ai wakes up, she finds herself crying. The warmth on her left hand still lingers from her dream, and she clutches to it before it gets lost in her memories.
.
---
.
“Let me guess, he.. um,” Ayumi taps her pencil thoughtfully on her chin, looking excited, “He confessed to you?”
“I wouldn’t remember that, Yoshida-san.”
Her classmate looks discouraged as she flops down on her desk, “But what do you remember, Ai-chan? There must be something, a clue!”
An azure-winged magpie lands by the window, catching the girls’ attention. Ai watches, mesmerized, how its bluish feathers shimmer with an iridescent glow under the pale winter sun.
A blurred memory flashes in her head.
“Cobalt.” She whispers as the bird takes flight, flapping its wings into the greyish sky.
“Heh?” Ayumi utters, peeking curiously from her desk.
Ai turns to face her friend, beaming softly as her cheeks heat up. “It’s the color of his eyes.”
.
---
.
“Have you tried tracking down the tree?”
“Yes, Hattori.” Shinichi deadpans. “Four hundred sixteen down, a gazillion more to go.”
His friend grimaces. “She’s already rubbing on you, and you haven’t even met her.”
“I have met her. I know everything about her. I just— I don’t remember.”
“Not one thing? Come on, think of something!”
“She’s smart and funny and wants to be a…. a—” Shinichi ruffles the back of his hair, frustrated, “I can’t recall, but someone important.”
“Like the mayor?”
“Maybe.” Shinichi ponders. “Stop asking me things I don’t know!”
Heiji throws his hands in the air, eyes rolling back. He props one elbow on his desk, resting his chin on the palm of his hand as he watches absentmindedly the baseball team practice outside his window. “Then what’s the plan, are you just gonna dream about her for the rest of your life?”
“No, I’m going to find her.”
Heiji snorts, half amused, half incredulous, “Good luck with that, lovebird.” He says as he gives Shinichi an over-enthusiastic pat in the back.
Shinichi suddenly feels as if the air has been cut off his lungs.
“What did you just say!?”
“H-Huh—?” Heiji quails when he finds himself pinned to his chair, Shinichi’s hands pressing down on his shoulders. Confused and frankly a bit taken aback, he ventures, “ G-Good luck…? ”
Shinichi realizes too late that he might have come off a little too frantic. His fist is curled so tightly around Heiji’s blazer that wrinkles are starting to form around the royal blue fabric, and his eyes shine with the same crazed glint that overcomes him when he’s about to crack a case. He lets go of his friend hastily, seemingly embarrassed by his own reaction.
“Not that— what did you call me?”
“ Lovebird? ” Heiji hesitates, looking at his friend as if he’d totally lost his sanity. “I’m sorry?”
“No, it’s not like that!” Shinichi wants to laugh, but he decides he’s already made himself look enough like a lunatic for the day. “There’s— you’re right! There’s a bird!”
“A bird?”
“Yes, in the tree! You know, in the dream.”
“So,” Heiji presses two fingers against his temple, his expression going from startled to complete deadpan, “You just had an eureka moment because you realized birds live in trees—“
“I didn’t just realize , I remembered it!”
“Okay.” Heiji exhales deeply, his palms brought together in a pleading gesture, “Kudo, you need to go outside more.”
“I am outside! ”
“Yeah... No . You’re still dreaming.” He insists, a preoccupied grimace on his face, “Wake up, man. You can’t let these dreams become your entire life. Seriously.”
“I won’t .” Shinichi says dismissively. “I just need to figure it out. So I can—“
“ —find her .” They say simultaneously, Heiji shaking his head disapprovingly.
“Yes, I know. You’ve said this a kazillion times already. Oi, don’t take this the wrong way, bro, but It’s becoming an obsession.”
“Come on, don’t you want to figure it out? We’re detectives, no? It’s what we do.”
“ Ha… ” Heiji utters, brows drawn together, “Not like this, no.”
Shinichi shrugs, but says nothing in return. Heiji sideglances him, unsure if he should push any further. He decides distraction is the better approach. “So, are you coming to Karaoke after class?”
Shinichi makes a face that’s something between apologetic and distressed, “Eh, sorry I can’t. I have stuff to do.”
“What kind of stuff?” Heiji raises his brows, skeptical. His face falls when he realizes — “Oh, Jeez. Don’t tell me you’re goin’ to look up this damn bird. You’re out of your mind, Kudo. That’s it. You’re fucked in the head.”
“Fuck off.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake. Just forget it!” Heiji pleads, “There’s no fucking way you’re going to find it. I know this. You know this. Come on, just come to the damn karaoke…. Mouri is coming too.”
Shinichi’s expression, which had been reserved at best, now turns ice cold — murderous , even.
Heiji makes a surrendering gesture, “Fine, fine! It’s kind of a waste, is all I’m saying.”
The detective of the East disagrees, but offers silence as his only argument.
.
---
.
“Happy Birthday Ayumi-chan!” Mitsuhiko and Genta sing in unison.
“Happy Birthday, Yoshida-san.”
“Thank you so much, guys!” Ayumi’s hands are on her cheeks, and she beams so brightly her eyes start glistening with joy. “Ai-chan, this cake is beautiful! ”
“I’m glad you like it.”
“Are you kidding? I love it!”
“H-Haibara-san — !” Mitsuhiko almost chokes in thin air, so flustered his face matches with the rosy wallpaper in the room, “Would you make one for my birthday, too?”
Before Ai has a chance to reply, Genta chimes in, “ Oi, if you two get one, I want one too!”
Ai can’t help a chuckle, “Is this really the time?”
“OH CRAP!” Mitsuhiko suddenly realizes his faux pas, and starts spluttering apologies, “I’m so sorry, Ayumi-chan! CAKE! Let’s light up the candles!”
“I’m trying!” Genta panics, also hectic as he struggles with the lighter. “This thing is broken!”
“Let me check. Give it to me.” Ai takes the lighter and tries, unsuccessfully, to make it work. “Hm… you’re right, it’s broken. We’ll need another one.”
“I’ll call service.” Genta offers, already reaching out for the glowing button panel on the wall, but Ai makes a hand gesture for him to wait.
“It's a busy hour, they’ll take forever. It’d be faster if I go get one.”
“Eh? Where from, Ai-chan?” Ayumi peeps.
Ai tilts her head, smirk on her face as she’s already halfway out the door, “Well, it’s Karaoke. Someone’s bound to smoke.”
.
---
.
“Kudo, are you coming or what?” Heiji doesn’t even bother masking the frustration in his voice when he’s finally able to dial through his best friend’s phone. He huffs when he hears the reply from the other side of the line, “Seriously…? Alright… alright . I think you’re crazy, but suit yourself.”
“Let me guess — ”
“Don’t start, Suzuki.”
“—The idiot is not coming.”
Kazuha laughs, “I think she just ended it.”
“Sonoko-chan!” Ran reprimands her friend, but the heirless just shrugs innocuously.
“But am I right or am I right?”
Heiji rolls his eyes, “You’re right, Ojou-sama, as always.”
“See?” The girl flips her hair, leaning back on the couch as she looks pleased with herself.
“Well, we should start without him, then.” Kazuha, who couldn’t care less, busies herself with the arduous task of filling the playlist.
“Urgh.” Heiji laments, “Surrounded by girls…”
“Oi!”
“Hey!”
“That means you’re in luck today, stop whining!”
Before Heiji has a chance to reply or be mercilessly attacked by his friends, there’s a knock on the door, and Sonoko, who’s closest to the exit, stands up to answer it. Heiji sighs in relief, grateful that Kudo had decided to come rescue him from the hoard of lioness surrounding him.
Except it isn’t Kudo.
Standing on the booth door is, to Heiji’s dismay, yet another girl. Her plaid Kohnan High uniform stands out from his classmate’s royal blue, but that’s not the only thing he finds unusual about her — for starters, her chin-length hair is a distinctive shade of strawberry blonde and her peculiar set of dull jade eyes suggest foreign heritage. Her posture is straight, much like Sonoko’s, and there’s a certain air of haughtiness in the way she holds her chin high, swiftly scanning the room with her eyes before a polite smile comes across her face.
“I’m sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you might have a lighter I can borrow? We’re celebrating my friend’s birthday and ours doesn’t seem to work.”
Sonoko huffs, “A lighter? Do we look like hooliga —”
“Sonoko-chan!” Ran intervenes again, this time hurrying by her friend’s side as she shoves her away from the door. Her hands start rummaging through her school bag. “Yes, I have one, actually. Hold on.”
“Eh? What are you doing with a lighter, Ran-chan?” Kazuha chirps, her interest piqued as the first song starts playing in the background, totally forgotten.
“I’m keeping them away from my dad.” Ran explains, her tone apologetic. Her brows draw together as she struggles to find the lighter among the organized mess of her stationery. “Last time he tried to light a cigarette on the stove he burned his mustache, and now he just rather wait for his lighter.”
“Won’t he just get a new one when you take them away?” Heiji laughs.
Ran smirks back at him, “Well, they keep mysteriously disappearing . And he’s got a very short fuse. Oh , found it!”
The brunette hands over the plastic lighter to the new girl, grinning widely as she accepts it with a polite bow. “Thank you very much, I’ll return it to you right away. We’re just in the booth next to you.”
Holding her palms out, Ran shakes her head reassuringly. “Oh, don’t worry about it. You can keep it, please. You’d be doing me a favor if I don’t have to bring it back. See, I still have like fifteen of these hidden everywhere — it has become a safety hazard.”
“In that case—”
“Haibara-san!” A fleckled boy suddenly appears behind the strawberry blonde girl, panting as if he ran a mile instead of just walking across the hallway. “Haibara-san, what are you doing?”
“Tsuburaya-kun,” The girl called Haibara smiles placidly, holding the lighter for him to see, “I got us the lighter.”
“I-Is that so?” With a slight stutter, the boy not-so-subtly drags Haibara to stand behind him and takes a swift bow, “Thank you so much for your help .”
And with that, he takes her away to their booth, mumbling a distinctive Haibara-san, you shouldn’t talk to strangers! that escapes no one’s ears.
“You’re welcome!” Sonoko shouts iratedly, shutting the door close. “Freaking weirdos. Come on, Ran.”
As they sit down to choose more songs to play, Shinichi’s incoming text notification glows on Ran’s phone, grabbing her attention. She flicks her screen on with one sweep of her thumb.
Have fun without me , the text reads.
Ran sighs.
Well, what else is there to do otherwise?
.

It was an especially unremarkable funeral all around. Private, unsurprisingly, with little said as they went through the motions. It wasn’t even gray out. Sunny, but not too warm. Lukewarm weather—perfect for the occasion, some would say.
After all, that Alice even got a fraction of the usual ceremony was generous. Truth be told, she wouldn’t be surprised if her parents were glad that he was gone. Less shame on the family. One less murderer in the world.
She lets him get buried with her bongos, and that’s the extent of good will she can muster. To show more than that will just make the matter a hassle, and haven’t they all been through enough?
“Well,” Reko mutters to her brother’s grave, fingers tracing the engravement of his name. “Can’t say I’m exactly relieved things turned out like this.”
Her parents had long left. They offered to take her out to dinner, of course, but she lied and said she already ate. She didn’t plan on telling them she’d like to stay with Alice a bit longer. She’s not exactly looking to get pity or sympathy—especially from them.
Should I at least tell the old band members? She wondered, arms crossed over her chest, lips pursed. She felt uncomfortable in her funeral dress. She felt uncomfortable with her hair neatly combed down instead of styled. She felt uncomfortable with an unpainted face.
Her brother was gone and she had to wish him off in a form completely alien. He wouldn’t have recognized her. She barely recognized herself.
“Dammit, Alice.”
She wanted to kick at the grave. Something about it pissed her off. Maybe she should’ve brought incense to burn. Maybe that would’ve calmed her down. As if those traditions were for the sake of the living.
Aren’t they, though? It’s not like the dead can appreciate them.
Besides, Alice hated both flowers and incense. Because he was both allergic and sensitive. So lame.
“So lame,” she whispered, brushing her hair back. “Dying is a burden only the living can carry, y’know. Just what the hell were you thinking? Taking someone’s life only to lose your own...” She had to swallow down a hard lump and her eyes burn. “Didn’t you consider us at all? You fucking asshole.”
She had half a mind to kick his stupid grave. He wouldn’t even get mad at her for it. Alice knew how much he pissed them all off with his crimes and he still, and he still—
“You wanted to reconcile, didn’t you? You wanted to be forgiven, right?” Her breath hitched. “How the fuck can that happen now that you’re gone?!”
Rather than lashing out, Reko finally fell down to her knees, trembling in the crisp spring air. The season of rebirth and her murdering asshole brother was dead. How the hell was that for irony? She had half a mind to scream about it.
“Urgh...”
Tears were blurring her vision now and it really was so, so goddamn lame. Like all Alice had really been good for was breaking her heart. As if there hadn’t been any good memories when the two were kids...when the two played together. She had already mourned that brother years ago. Her parents had been understanding then, and she wonders if anyone would understand now. There’s one less murderer in the world—that’s a good thing, isn’t it?
And yet, it fucking hurts. Because it had to be Alice.
Because it was Alice, because she had been hurt by him enough already, Reko just let herself cry it out again. All the same tears of anguish and frustration. Of betrayal and anger. Of shame. Of regret. All over again, like a shitty song on repeat. She cried and cried into her hands, curled up on the ground before her brother’s grave, letting herself mourn like a normal person because she at least deserved that.
It wasn’t cathartic in the way she hoped it would be. Several minutes later, her face felt grossly swollen. Even after crying herself dry, she was still trembling with grief. Alice really knew how to wreck everything from their family to her composure. She almost wished she didn’t miss him. But she did. She’s just replaying all their good times in her head, wondering where the hell it all went wrong.
Why’d you even kill that guy, Alice? You never told me why. I never pressed because what mattered more was what you did than why you did it but—should I have?
And now she’ll never get to.
“U-Um...”
Reko isn’t surprised that someone felt the need to check on her. She’s not even mad, given that it sounds like a worried girl and she’s not sure how long she’s been curled up on the ground. She’d be real fucking concerned, too.
Dammit. How uncool.
She already gave all her tissue to her parents. Fuck. But, when she pushes herself up, a shaky hand is offering her a handkerchief.
“H-Here,” the girl holding it stammers, shaking even more when Reko got a good look at her. “Y-You look like you need this...”
She’s—almost obscenely cute, with a frantic, bug-eyed expression and long, wild red hair pulled back into a ponytail. She looked a few years younger, so being found like this by her was even more flustering.
“No, I...” Swallowing, Reko tried to subtly wipe her nose. She winced when she ended up sniffling. “I’m fine. I think I got it all out.”
The latter was at least true. She was cried out, but she still kind of wanted to cover her face.
“Y-You most certainly are not fine!” the girl exclaimed because she wasn’t stupid. But to Reko’s surprise, rather than insisting, the young woman took the initiative and scrubbed Reko’s face with the handkerchief herself. “Y-You were crying for a good ten minutes...! And given the way you dressed, you must have just stood through a funeral! There’s no way you’re fine!”
It was pretty clumsy, the way she tried to wipe down Reko’s tearstained cheeks, but it wasn’t rough. Shakiness and pushiness aside, the gesture was as gentle as it could be. So, she just allowed it before the girl yelped and would’ve dropped the handkerchief had Reko not caught it.
“S-Sorry,” she stammered. “I, um, I got completely carried away... Um...”
“It’s fine,” Reko couldn’t help but laugh. Actually laugh, when her damn murdering brother’s grave was so close to her back. “I was being stubborn. You’re right. I’m not fine.”
“Um... It’s still uncalled for to be like that with someone I don’t even know,” she pointed out meekly. “Sorry. I’m really sorry...”
“Reko.”
She perked up, bug-eyed once more.
“My name’s Reko. Yabusame Reko. There. Now you know me.” Reko blew her nose on the handkerchief. “So, it’s cool, right?”
“C-Cool... I’m Egokoro Nao. Nice to...meet you...”
Nao wasn’t meeting her eyes, cheeks burning pink, but she kept on talking.
“I got so overzealous because... I lost someone recently, too. M-My professor... He was...instrumental to who I am today.”
“Yeah, my brother’s the same,” Reko said, smiling sardonically. Because it still hurt, she did have to ask. “Was this professor a good guy?”
“T-The best! Mishima-sensei had a scary face, but he was such a wonderful person! Super radiant!” Nao exclaimed with such passion. “He was a really, really good guy! H-He... He shouldn’t have died...! Wah...!”
“Ah...” But before Reko can offer the handkerchief back, Nao whipped out another and blew her nose, wailing into it.
“Professor was so nice—! W-Way too nice!” She sniffled, tears welling up. “S-So nice... He... He even protected me...”
Nao was wearing long baggy sleeves. When one of them fluttered down, Reko saw burn scars marring her pale arm.
Fuck.
“He was a hero, huh?”
“Yes, he was! Uu. B-But. S-Sorry, sorry, that was a year ago,” Nao stammered. “H-How, um...how was your brother? W-Was he also a good guy?”
“He was...” I don’t want to talk about him right now. It’s much easier to comfort her than to talk about him. “Complicated. We had good times, though. Hey, let’s sit down.”
She patted Nao’s shoulder, pausing for a moment before brushing away the beginning trickles of tears from Nao’s ruddy face. Her cheeks only got redder than her hair.
“R-Reko, you’re really cool,” she murmured. “A-And I was the one who approached you first...”
“As far as I’m concerned, that makes you way cooler.”
“Wah—!” Geez, any redder and this girl would burst into steam. At least she was cute. Painfully cute. Alice would’ve liked her. Reko already does. Maybe too much for a first meeting.
“Let’s talk a little more, Nao,” she says, and she hopes it doesn’t sound like begging. “I think—we’d get along pretty well, yeah? There’s not much to say about my brother...but I wouldn’t mind hearing about your professor.”
“Okay, but I do want to get to know you better, then, in that case,” Nao replied, looking so adorably serious. “I-If you don’t mind, Reko.”
Reko couldn’t help but grin, ever gentle as she ushered Nao away, further and further from Alice’s grave.
“Nah, I don’t mind at all. I can tell you a few things. Like how this isn’t my normal face.”
“I-It’s not?!”
She laughed again, and maybe her laughter carried to her brother. Maybe it didn’t. She had an uncomfortable feeling that Alice would be happy to see her getting along with someone else like this—but for her own sake, maybe that was fine.
Maybe that was just fine.

INFP Music Collaboration Project: Complete!
The INFP Collaboration Playlist Project is now complete!
In total we had about 200 songs submitted and that completely blew me away! Thank you all so much for participating, I had no idea that it would get this many responses!
Thank you especially to @rokokokokolores, @stillnotknowing, @anypassingthought, @2nerd4this, @sonsoftie, @aseratreasures, @infp-relatable, @lunagirl0013, @idunno-justpicksomething, and @namhamjoon (please let me know if I accidentally forgot to tag you)
These are just the participants who were okay with being named but also thank you to all of the anonymous participants!
Here’s the final playlist from everyone’s suggestions, including some of mine that I threw in even though some of you beat me to the punch for a few songs.

[Translation] Tsukiutaya Tokuten Short Story - Kimi ni hana wo, Kimi ni Hoshi wo ver.
Don’t ask me why I jumped over two short stories and translated this, I don’t know why either. But anyway, this story is really precious and focuses on Kai’s first love. And the recording of the song (like all the other stories).
And yes, all stories have that card, but I’m usually not keen on using them for translation posts. And no, that title translation is official, I didn’t touch that.
Many thanks to Ryota for helping me proof this! Please don’t repost/reuse my translation.
I’ll give you a flower and a star ① [Kai]
“What a beautiful melody and words.”
Hearing Shun’s words, I nodded.
“Yeah, it’s a pretty song.”
And a gentle song.
The first thing that came to my mind when I read the lyrics for the first time was a nostalgic memory from a long, long time ago.
Now that I think about it, I might have told my composers that old story once.
About my first love from childhood. Our parting, and her final moments.
They might have remembered it.
“I send you as many thousands as flowers as possible/I want only my special flower to bloom……huh” (T/N: song lyrics)
“Kai. Reading these lyrics made you think of that girl, didn’t they?”
“Yeah. She’s basically never seen a bouquet of sunflowers, so I gave her one. She made the cutest expression possible.”
“Ah, we saw that together.”
Shun is also someone I shared my memories with.
As strange as he may be and contrary to my initial expectations, during an early morning he got interested in these precious memories and wanted me to tell him the story.
Judging the way I was speaking, the memories resembled treasures buried carefully somewhere in the depths of my heart for some reason.
I couldn’t expect any other words from the self-proclaimed ‘Demon Lord who loves everything’.
I know that whatever I say, Shun will answer with ‘That’s wonderful’ and maybe because of that my mouth probably opened automatically.
……There’s no pain anymore.
Only gentleness.
Only a gentle memory.
I’ve never imagined I’d end up thinking about it like this.
For a few moments I stood there immersed in memories with a dreamy look, then switched quickly to embarrassment almost as if someone made fun of me.
“So based on what this song says, I’m the one who gives flowers and you give stars, right, Shun?”
Shun laughed.
“Leave it to me, Kai. I’ll give your precious princess an ocean of precious stones that will sparkle in heavens. Each stone represents the light of a star’s life. I’d say it’s quite suitable for the princess who holds the light of a dazzling life and who you loved as a child.”
“……. Seriously, you’re saying embarrassing stuffs! It’s really embarrassing!”
“Ahaha.”
I’ll give you a flower and a star.
I’ll give you a flower and a star ② [Shun]
The man named Fuduki Kai is someone very straightforward, big hearted and has a pleasant character.
He’s neither two faced, nor adorns his words (though maybe he should sometimes), and he’s occasionally rough, but pure.
Those are the kind of things most of the people who know him would say when describing him.
Someone like him may be perhaps the type to remember uncomfortable things when faced with a song written using such beautiful yet dainty words.
However……
“Being important to me, I want to protect you and love you so much that it’s heartrending/May these feelings ride the wind and sway the flowers” (T/N: song lyrics)
The voice who sings into the mic so comfortably on the other side of the booth is in fact serene and filled with acceptance (ah, this song was made for him). It’s impossible not to notice that.
An emotional singing voice that would make anyone’s heart quiver spreads throughout the booth.
“You sang well.”
“Seems like you’re in great shape, Fuduki-kun.”
The staff also smiled.
As I let myself go with the flow of the pleasant tune, I remembered my turn to record was approaching.
I let out a nice, practiced voice.
It’s not like me to be nervous, but after all this song is dedicated to Kai and his princess.
Somewhere inside me was the desire to put even more affection into singing than usual.
(I’ll give you these stars.)
This celestial love.
A love that is poured into this world without any favoritism.
What’s inside my heart, though it’s easy to convey, I would rather go as far as to put it in a song for you.
I’ll give you (the world) a flower
I’ll give you (the world) a star.
Simply hugging tight and smiling is something wonderful.
I’ll give you a flower and a star ③ [Kai]
“Ah~ It’s over, it’s over.”
“Good work, Kai.”
“Good job you too, Shun. You looked really serious today during the recording, and you were praised a lot too.”
“Likewise, Kai. You sang well. The staff also seemed pleased for not having to redo that many times.”
“Really? I’m glad then!”
After the recording of Kimi Hana Hoshi we went back (by the way, Shun got stuck as always at the nearest station and seeing the staff already knowing what to do in this kind of situation earned them my respect.)
Shun and me were walking side-by-side towards the dorm.
The recording did start in the morning and ended at night, but that sense of accomplishment we felt came with a taste of freedom overall.
As soon as we finished our job, it was the staff’s turn to handle the mixing.
“I wonder what the end product would sound like~?”
”The melodic parts were close to the solo parts so maybe it’s what you’d expect it to be?”
“Right? Uwa, a singing skills contest~”
“Your voice sounded wonderful, so it’s fine.”
”I’m happy about that, but it’s sort of embarrassing. It’s kinda the same feeling as when you’re getting praised by a relative.”
“Well, I guess so.”
Shun laughed.
Summer is right around the corner, and with it the air around is tepid.
It smelled like the air of a peculiar summer night.
A summer vacation night from my childhood.
Thinking about where I could go tomorrow, I rose my head towards the night sky and inhaled the scent.
“Ah, I want to see the sea and the mountains~!”
“My, already planning to play? Then we shall go together with Procella.”
“Shuuunnn. You’re always down for anything that involves playing. Your attitude is exactly the opposite when it comes to working.
“Obviously.”
“C’mon, leader.”
Walking peacefully in this summer night.
Only a few stars could be seen from the city, but it was a pleasant night.
If you like my work and you want to support me, you can now buy me a coffee by clicking right [here]. I also started taking commissions, more details are right [here]. Thank you~

Headcanon Part 3
Dress up game...one character...inspired all this...wow. But, I was able to dig up some old “flames” because of this, so it’s all good.
Previous “Headcanons”:
https://nidhoggssoultrap.tumblr.com/post/190472389157/my-headcanon-nidhogg-louie-and-yvette-mostly
https://nidhoggssoultrap.tumblr.com/post/190581277697/headcanonsvingettessnippets-part-2
1. Since I have a special fondness for Camaros, I decided that Nidhogg will be driving that. A powerful black one that is a blast to drive. >:) My biases are showing, I know.
2. My "adaptation" is a cross over with Ultima. This is a very old series that has been an inspiration for years. Want an old school RPG to play? Try the Ultima series. The NES port of Ultima IV, Quest of the Avatar is excellent. But, the PC versions are better with Ultima 7 being considered the best and unfortunately going downhill from there. Still, it is an amazing old school series that is worth checking out and they are either free or low cost. Anyway, the Blood Curse problem is solved by instituting a "Virtue System" with Louie as one of the "Avatars", a shining example of virtue. Yvette will be one too as will quite a few others. The "True King" used to be like this, but because of his curse, he lost all virtue and is no longer an Avatar.
Nidhogg had NO idea that Louie was such a thing. No one did until he revealed it after the fight. Nidhogg had been trying for another power and as stated in the second batch of headcanon, he failed. Because of this, he is hit with a second curse, one that is not only painful, but scarring. Unlike the Blood Curse, only an Avatar can alleviate the pain once it flares up and there is no way to free someone from such a curse.
The "Fail Curse" basically means that you must follow the path of the Avatar and live in service to them. Failure to do so means being burned alive. Since Nidhogg isn't stupid or interested in killing himself(he did, however, consider it), he follows that path. The scarring goes from the heart and covers the upper left side of the body, except for the neck, face, and private parts(think heart attack area and that's generally where the scarring is). Still, having such scarring puts someone at a disadvantage in styling contests. The "Scarring" is the term I will be using in my "headcanon".
3. Remember the "He can't keep getting away with this!" Yvette says about Nidhogg? She tells Louie this and he point blank says, "he's not going to." This one came up recently, but I'm going to roll with it. It's based on something that apparently happens in a new Yvette Dreamweaver. After the death of Lunar, Louie decides to pay her a visit in Lillith due to their mutual connection to Nidhogg. She's seen Louie before in Apple(first while he was on his motorcycle and second at a restaurant bar) and thought he was "gorgeous." She considered the woman he loved "a very lucky woman". Nidhogg was NOT happy with this, but he acted like it was "no big deal". Anyway, Yvette and Louie tell each other about themselves a bit and he reveals that not everything about the Prime Minister is false, but does confirm that the Colonel is the "genuine article". Yvette is sorry about Lunar's death and, of course, so is Louie. They agree to work together to stop Nidhogg. This would happen while Nikki and Kimi are in Apple dealing with Reid.
4. Speaking of beach theme in the last headcanon, Nidhogg's idea of "beach theme" is a t-short and boxer shorts. That's it. He's the same way with the Pajama theme.
5. I have another bunny involving Louie taking advantage of Nidhogg's love for him. It's basically a plot to steal back the White Blossom. It's a "date" that ends in "bedtime" and well, Louie succeeds in stealing the White Blossom. Needless to say, Nidhogg is well...displeased at being so used. It does not end for either one of them as they fight at the grave of Louie's father. Yea, mean bunny. I get those sometimes.
6. Nidhogg's parents were high ranking NCOs in the military. His father(I named Liam) was a "King of Cups" sort while his mother(Madam Zosha) was a "Queen of Wands." If one had to choose, it's agreed that Nidhogg took after his father and became "The Page of Swords" and ultimately "The King of Swords." He loved his parents very much and was present when they died. Liam died the same way Micheal Collins did(shot while going between cars). Zosha died soon afterward trying to avenge him. This is quite possibly his most painful memory and won't likely be surpassed. He was eight years old. He lived for two years on his own before being discovered in Black Rock City by Louie's father. Yea, Nidhogg knows some hardship and knows how it feels to watch someone being accused of things they did not do (Liam was falsely accused of treason) and lose everything because of it.
7. Nidhogg learned to drive when he was 13. Self-taught on a manual shift jeep. He stalled only once, decided that it would never happen again and it didn't(that is, until the very end of the chase when Yvette finally fights back). He was a few years older when he learned to fly, but was quickly surpassed by Louie. However, as stated in previous headcanons, Nidhogg is a better driver.
8. There are four "loopholes" around the Blood Curse: 1. Medicines(Regent 7), 2. Inability to feel pain. 3. The ability to feel pain and pleasure as one. 4. Immune/Highly Resistant to curses. Louie becomes the 4th one due to Avatarhood.
9. It should have gone without saying that Nidhogg is a loner(which was why he was happy that Louie was similar). In fact, Shade was shocked that he would continue desiring Louie. Shade had assumed that Nidhogg didn't need anyone. Nidhogg's response? "Who said anything about need?" A lot of my favorite characters are like this.
10. Confession Bear: While thinking of the car chase story, I kind of laughed at the fact that there are two grown men embroiled in "gay drama" in front of a young woman, two teenage girls, and a talking cat. In the end, pretty much everyone knew what went on between Louie and Nidhogg, not something either of them wanted much.
11. In Headcanon 2, I made it clear that Louie was blinded by hate/rage. Because of this, some of his actions were a bit unbecoming of an avatar(this Ultima, this happens too. The point is that things can get complicated and being virtuous doesn't always work). Like: twisting and turning Nidhogg's words until it suited his purpose, ascribing words/actions to Nidhogg that he didn't actually say/do, using Nidhogg's actual words against him, and well, subterfuge. Louie succeeds in getting a good number of people to defect, but they end up siding with ORLANDO. Either way, League Tyr suffers losses because of it. Part of the reason Louie acted the way he did was due to desperation, but also the rage he felt toward Nidhogg, but it wasn't pure rage as he still loved his elder "brother"/friend.
At the end of their final duel, Louie strips him of his cape, his medals, and his weapons. He tells the girls, "If you have any last words to say to him, say them now because it'll be awhile before you ever see him again, if ever." He also uses Nidhogg's quote about fate against him("This is your fate"). All of this was done while Nidhogg suffered greatly under the "Fail Curse." Louie could have alleviated the pain while before banishing him, but deliberately chose not to.
He's also said this(when Morrison/Grey Raven was captured): "The opinions of others mattered little to your parents. Where are they now?" Er, yea...lowblow. Nidhogg's response? A raised eyebrow and he continued his argument as if Louie had said nothing of the sort and was STILL trying to persuade him to join the Night Order.
During the "chase" he finally does get to Nidhogg when he basically says, "The freedom you will bring is false!" And even worse, "I wish you had died as a child, buried in the snow with no one to give a damn about you. Then, I would have never known you and I wouldn't be cursed with the memories of you!"
He says a lot more, but that's the gist of it. Had it been anyone else, it would have the effect of a sneeze in a tornado, but because it was Louie, it, well, got to Nidhogg in ways no one else was able to. Yvette and Nikki simply angered/irritated him. Louie...well...made him cry. Er, sort of. I mean, this is Nidhogg, after all. At that point, Nidhogg basically says "you never understood me, you never really tried" and makes a declaration that sends Louie in tears. Soon after that, Nidhogg tells all of them that there is no use arguing anymore because "you will never agree with me and I will never agree with you, so that makes things rather moot, now doesn't it?" When Louie offers a reconciliation, Nidhogg says that it's "too late now."
In the end, Louie regrets all off of it because he knew that Nikki was right: It was needless cruelty. He was also reprimanded by the Seer of the Avatar, who said the same thing and that vengeance had no place for an Avatar. Later on, Nidhogg tells him that he would have never been so cruel had the situation been reversed.
12. Of all those in the Night Order, only Nidhogg faced any real consequences. It was decided that being "Scarred" was punishment enough. Plot twist: He was set up by Ryan all along and Ryan was the one who finally inspired Yvette to become her own White Knight. Remember Ryan?
13. That power Nidhogg so desperately wanted and needed Yvette in order to obtain it? It would have destroyed him completely as his mindset was a bit "reversed" at the time. So really, Yvette and co. saved him and his soul.
14. Nidhogg, imo, is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If he's poor, he's jealous. If he's rich, then he's a hypocrite. If he's straightforward, he's an asshole. If he sugercoats, then he's a liar. He learned early on not to give a damn what others think for this reason as his parents went through the same thing.
15. The issue is that there was only one way to settle disputes. So, the stylings contests were something that seemed freeing, but it wasn't. It was a sugar coated tyranny. Such a thing created internal turmoil, hence "false peace."
16. Confession Bear: My first impression of him in his uniform other than "OMG HAAAWWWWT" was "OMG FASCIST!" But, then I looked up the Iron Cross and found that it predates any thought of Fascism/Nazism by about 200 years.
17. Nidhogg KNEW that there would be chaos. "Of course there would be chaos! Did you think I wouldn't know that!? But from chaos will come a new order and it will be under my firm, guiding hand!"
18. Yvette looked at all the gifts Nidhogg had given her after all that had happened. While keeping a low profile in Lillith, she wondered how much contempt/disdain/hate he actually had for her. It wasn't the first time she had such "friends", but Nidhogg's deceit hurt her the most. She found that people being honest with where she stood with them was far more preferable. She thought of throwing the gifts away, but Kiki told her that the gifts didn't do anything, so she shouldn't. Yvette chose not to. She also remembered the "I like me speech" and that she had true friends.
19. Liliana(this is the 'artist' in my fic) works as a cleaner/maid in the capital building. She is a friend of Bobo and ultimately Yvette. She draws all sorts of things, including designs. Nidhogg actually used one of her drawings to make Bunny Stockings ("That's not his style.") Unlike the thief, he gives her credit and thanks her for being able to look at her sketches. After the coup, she thinks that he may have been looking at her sketchbook/photo album to see what she knows.
20. Nidhogg has a "take all you want, but eat what you take" attitude when it comes to food. This is from the military.

I was tagged by @brenli , thank you so much! I don’t think I’ve ever done anything so long on this page :D So, here we go! It will be a little messy, ‘cause I’m constantly overtired and feel slightly rusty with my English, and also withholding some facts, ‘cause I’m paranoid. Sorry.
1. how tall are you? 158 cm, which means I’m usually the tiniest person around. I don’t mind, though.
2. what color and style is your hair? Natural color is pretty mousy and I hate it, so I’ve been dying my hair since junior highschool, I guess. Till last year I always dyed them claret, but last holiday I changed it to something that starts as black and finishes as plum. I used to have them shoulder-length, but four years ago I cut them really short and since then I am a proud owner of very little hair on my head. I do envy people with long hair, but well, I know what I have now fits me better.
3. what color are your eyes? Green.
4. do you wear glasses? Yup, constantly since the end of elementary school. With myopia that goes to - 6 I really do not see much without my glasses. I’ve never used contacts nor do I intend to, I can’t imagine having to touch my eyeballs or anything.
5. do you wear braces? Not anymore, thankfully! But I did, for 7 years!!! I still have to wear some stuff at nights and I have one element left on my lower teeth, but that’s all.
6. what is your fashion style? I don’t think I have one. I mean I don’t like fashion, so I just wear whatever I feel like wearing. My clothes are diverse, but they are usually dark and with something interesting on them (imprints/spikes/other metal things). I have a lot of T-shirts/sweaters with skulls and animals (especially cats and owls). I love warm sweaters, hoodies, jeans and leather jackets. I am obsessed with high heels, my favorite shoes are a black leather ones that reach well above my ankles and have like an 8-cm-long heel. I don’t own a single skirt (like... no) and I have only a few dresses which I wear only if I’m forced to (big dislike for these ones as well). I’m an all-trousers girl. I definitely prefer my style casual; when it comes to elegance I like to wear black in general - black smooth trousers and black suit.
7. full name? Sorry, I don’t feel comfortable disclosing it online.
8. when were you born? July 12, 1994.
9. where are you from and where do you live now? I was born in a small-ish town in southern Poland and now I still live in southern Poland, but in a much bigger town. So not much of a change, just a few hours of travel by car.
10. what school do you go to? One Polish university, four months to go and it will be the end of any school for me!
11. what kind of student are you? Up till university, I was an excellent student, always the best at everything. I was definitely a geek who learned too much. And I always wanted to be at the top. University changed it completely; even when I’m trying hard I’m just average. If I like a subject it shows and I’m having good grades, but generally, I’m all for passing, not excelling. I’m learning a lot and it still isn’t enough right now, which is frustrating at times, especially when I compare myself to my colleagues. On other occasions... I simply don’t care. I just want to pass.
12. do you like school? Well... It depends on the period of my life. I think I didn’t mind elementary school, I hated junior high school and liked actual high school. About university... every year is different, so there were good ones and there were bad ones. I’m not a fan of it in general, though.
13. what are your favorite school subjects? Pre-uni: Maths and Chemistry, mostly, but Chemistry was my biggest and most unexpected love during my time at school. When it first started I had no idea what it was and I was terrified with it, plus I was behind the whole class because of some disease and I was honestly so nervous about it. Then, a month later, I kinda... fell for it and stayed infatuated with it till the end of junior high. And that’s mostly how I found myself on medical studies a few years later. My teacher from junior high was so amazing she made me love Chemistry more than anything, but sadly, my teacher from high school ruined it all. I had a great Biology teacher then, though it didn’t make me love Biology. It just enabled me to get into the uni I wanted to get to. I almost always liked my English classes as well, because I had some really amazing teachers and I loved English. I still do, languages are amazing.
Uni: Histology, Pharmacology, Surgery. The first two are the only ones I excelled at. Surgery - not so much, but I still did well on the final exam.
14. favorite TV shows? It is both an easy and difficult question. Easy because I do have one TV series I consider my ultimate favorite, and it’s Angel from Buffyverse. The best thing about it is the most amazing character development I’ve ever seen, and trust me, I’m a sucker when it comes to character development. My favorite character from there is one of my ultimate faves (if not THE one) and his path is one of the most epic ever. Plus it has an amazing material for shipping and some great acting, it’s dark, depressing and hopeless, and that’s what I love. It’s also one of the few examples of TV series when I actually LIKE the main character; he’s actually one of the people I like the most. It almost never happens; usually, I’m very anti-main characters (e.g. LotR, HP).
The question gets difficult because there are also such shows as Chuck, Firefly or Code Black, amazing and mostly flawless (apart from the ending of Chuck), but are they my favorites? At times, maybe. In general... I just don’t know. Bones and Castle fought for my undivided attention for years (most of the times Bones was on the winning side) and they’re both in my top 10, though probably not top 3. Plus, there are some gems that had such amazing potential, but were cut short and had too little time to develop; apart from Firefly, it would be, e.g. Monday Mornings, Perception, Black Box.
There were also a lot of amazing TV shows I loved dearly during some of their seasons, but almost always something happened and they got ruined. PLL, TVD, Grey’s Anatomy (I feel like I’m watching it now for one pairing only), OUaT and so on. House was my first American TV series and I’ll always have a place for it in my heart. I love GoT in its very early and very late seasons, but what comes in between? Nope.
(I watch way too much TV.)
The honorary mentions should go to some non-American shows (honestly speaking, I’m kinda tired with the general trends of American TV at the moment). I’ve started my adventures with TV with Polish soap operas that I completely adored; when I discovered American TV I stopped watching them entirely and don’t intend to come back. I love some good English dramas, but BBC tends to get a little bit overdramatic or too dark even for me (Ripper Street ripped my heart from my chest). Speaking of ripping hearts, let’s not forget about the Japanese ones, as @brenli mentioned! They are something completely different, they have amazing plotlines and characters, and - sometimes - Hiroyuki Sanada who is just everything (and I get to analyze the shows with @brenli, which makes them even better). Koukou Kyoushi will stay with me for years to come, probably Konna Koi No Hanashi as well. Considering my current Asian phase I expect to see much more of Japanese (or maybe Korean) dramas in the future.
15. favorite movies? There are a few movies I could watch on constant repeat and they mean so much to me. Let’s categorize them in genres, shall we? Animation: How to Train Your Dragon (especially the first part, the second one breaks my heart too much), Ice Age 3; plus the tales of my childhood I could watch five times a day - Pocahontas, Mulan, Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron. Period: Pride & Prejudice 2005. Rom-com: Holiday; Love, Actually. Adventure: Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3. Sci-fi: Matrix 1 & 3. Plus a few honorary mentions that are equally important, but I just wouldn’t have them on constant rewatch: LotR, SW, HP, Indiana Jones (not every part for every one of these series), National Treasure. There are also a few amazing anime movies (Spirited Away, Kimi No Na Wa, Wolf Children) and among them some masterpieces I think were wonderful, but too heartbreaking to ever watch them again (Grave of the Fireflies, Princess Kaguya).
16. favorite books? Most of my favorite books are cycles that I grew up with - LotR, HP, Inkheart Trilogy, the Vampirates series, Artemis Fowl, Jeżycjada (a Polish series about a multi-generational Polish family), Felix, Net i Nika (kinda Polish version of HP with science and technology in place of magic), some books by Ewa Nowak. Also, Pride & Prejudice. I’ve loved a lot of books since, but does any of them deserve to be called a “favorite”? I’m not so sure about it.
17. favorite pastime? Writing, from the moment I’ve learned to write (4 years old, I believe). Second best would be watching TV series; when I was younger I’d much rather like to read a book, but that kinda changed. Though, if I’m being honest, at the time being it would be watching ski jumping competitions or anything BTS-related. These past two weeks (yup, I’ve been writing this post for two weeks) has been an interesting journey of interchanging obsessions, some revisited (sj) and some I’ve never expected to develop (BTS).
18. do you have any regrets? Sure, who doesn’t? I’m trying to live by the rule “regret doing something rather than not doing it”, but well, it can’t always work.
19. dream job? A writer, for sure, always and forever. That is the one thing that has been with me my whole life. Apart from that? Well... Some time after I started my studies I developed a strong dream of becoming a neurosurgeon one day, but this dream faltered this year and now I’m not so sure anymore. Now I feel like I made a completely wrong career choice those few years ago.
20. would you like to get married someday? Marriage has never been one of my dreams or something I HAVE to do in the future, but I definitely want to have someone by my side, and if they want to get married, then sure, we can do that. Not necessarily though.
21. would you like to have kids someday? No, no and once again no, and there are so many reasons! First, I do know my body would not be physiologically okay with pregnancy (and after studying Gynaecology I do believe pregnancy is one of the worst things - if not THE worst - that could ever happen to one’s body) and I have no intention of doing such a thing to myself. Second, children scare me; my whole life I’ve been doing my best to keep my distance and avoid contact at any cost (which kinda worked as far, I’ve never even held a baby). Third, I have no maternal instinct and I do know I would be a terrible mother, so what’s the point?
23. do you like shopping? No. Since I was a child, when my parents took me shopping I always had a book with me and just followed them around while reading (somehow I managed not to collide with anything throughout all these years :P). I still do the same thing if someone makes me go with them to the mall, only now it’s more often my phone, not a book. I love buying books, though. I used to go to the bookshops and buy five books at a time. I don’t do that right now, because a) money b) I have tons of unread books already, but I could still go there and spend hours just looking at the books and reading their covers.
24. what countries have you visited? Only one, and I’m not even sure it should count. I’ve been to Slovakia twice, but both times only like 50km from the border, and I’ve spent there max few hours. So... it definitely wasn’t even remotely close to this “going abroad” I’ve been always dreaming about...
25. what’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Hmm... There was one in my adult life that left me absolutely terrified; I remember waking up and feeling paralyzed with fear. I had a feeling someone was standing in the doorway, but I was too scared to turn around and see, so I was just lying there with my eyes wide open, waiting until the fear passes or something else happens... What was the dream about? I only remember it took place in some fancy mansion near the beach that was either mine or one of my friends’. I think it wasn’t actually a nightmare until the very end when something bad was about to happen to someone who was standing in the living room. The other person was creeping in the dark or something like that, and the character in the dream had the same kind of fear I woke up with. I didn’t actually want to remember more details.
26. do you have any enemies? I did have some, on every stage of my education, but they are no longer in my life. Nowadays I think I’m too irrelevant to be anyone’s enemy. There are some people with whom I share a mutual dislike, but “enemies” is probably too strong of a word in these cases.
27. do you have an s/o? Nope. Never had.
28. do you believe in miracles? Well... not really. I believe in luck and destiny, but miracles? I definitely don’t believe in them in any religious context (I’m completely anti-religion). When it comes to some other kinds of miracles, like medical ones - I know things happen, wonderful things that have no logical explanation, but I do believe that deep down, even though we don’t know it, they have some logical explanation. We just can’t see it.
Finished! Finally! :D Hopefully it isn’t too chaotic, I don’t really have time to reread it and check for mistakes, Family Medicine is waiting to devour me...
I’m tagging: @frombothofmyhearts @thesilverrqueen @mis4nthropy and anyone who wants to do it! Just be warned - it takes a lot of time to answer all of the questions :P

Swimming in Silk ~ Chapter 3
Training in front of her, engaging her in conversation and now lending her his clothes…Kagome is starting to suspect that Sesshoumaru is trying to gain her attention.
Continuation of a meant to be oneshot Sesskag fic but then I got requests to continue. Plz Excuse the lack of creativity for the pic, Photoshop has stopped working on me.
Romance, Humour and some drama
Chapter One - here Chapter Four - here
Chapter Two - here
Rated T (for now anyway)
Kagome didn't much care what strangers thought of her. It didn't matter if she had no long term goals or plans while living in the Feudal Era. She did her own thing at her own pace, and helped Kaede whenever possible. So it didn't matter when a woman inquired why she wasn't married, or when another asked why she didn't conduct herself more like a normal miko. They weren't people who were precious to her. However, between her swimming class, collecting herbs and assisting the villagers, she couldn't help but notice over the weeks that a pair of narrowed eyes were constantly glaring daggers into her back.
Kagome turned and frowned at Jaken, their gazes locking. He was not precious to her either, yet it was getting ridiculously difficult to ignore him. The little imp had done nothing to hide his displeasure at the news of his lord courting her. With the Daiyoukai away, his bulbous yellow eyes glowered intensely, clutching his staff tight and muttering under his breath.
With a sigh, Kagome set her basket of washing down. "Look Mister, do we need to have a talk? Because I feel like this-" she gestured between them, "isn't going to smooth over naturally. Come on, lay it on me."
Jaken blinked slowly, scoffing and turning his head up into the air, since he lacked a nose with which to snoot arrogantly. "A-as if I would agree to bad mouthing Lord Sesshoumaru's chosen-"
"You can speak freely. I won't tell Sesshoumaru what you say, I promise."
His mouth instantly opened and he threw his small hands up. "You are unsuitable in every way! That my Lord has decided to pursue a filthy human makes me fear he has lost his senses, or been put under an evil spell! Your manners are terrible, and even your-"
Kagome tuned him out after that, letting the insults wash over her at first, but gradually becoming more annoyed. Her hands clenched into fists and she snatched his staff from him in order to get his attention again.
"Well then," she grit out. "I guess you have a lot of opinions on the matter."
Jaken jumped for the staff, which she held just out of reach, causing him to hop up and down for it. "Wench!" He barked.
Kagome huffed, narrowing her eyes and booping him on the head with it. "I didn't ask you to speak your mind for no reason. Look," she crouched down, until they were eye level. Jaken stopped and stared at her in surprise. "The other demons at Sesshoumaru's mansion- stronghold thing...they'd all have the same opinion as you, wouldn't they?" She asks seriously.
He scoffs, crossing his small arms. "Of course! Lord Sesshoumaru's line is prestigious and should remain untainted. Every demon expects him to wed one of the silver foxes from the South Kitsune clan. Or at least a demoness of high standing. You will only dirty him."
Kagome's lips thinned and she looked at the wooden staff in her hands, feeling the demonic power radiating from within. "I'm the Shikon Miko, doesn't that count for something?"
Jaken huffs, "not much." He quiets then, glancing away. "If we said you were a Hime like Inuyasha's mother, MAYBE they might not react quite so badly."
"A-a Hime?"
"Or at least someone of nobility! Not a commoner with a short skirt- gah!" He rubbed his sore head, glaring as she booped him a little more forcefully. Kagome frowned, swallowing her pride and breathing out. She didn't care what others thought of her, but her situation wasn't like Sesshoumaru's. He had others to look after, lands to protect. Surely it mattered then, how she'd reflect on him?
Would their relationship affect land treaties or the goodwill among his allies? Now that she thought about it, Sesshoumaru hadn't brought it up once. Yet he'd left for the Western Lands just that morning without her. She quickly shook away the insidious worry that he was keeping her a secret from his fellow demons. He probably just wasn't ready to show her his home yet.
"Okay..." Kagome handed over the staff and inclined her head slightly. "C-could you..." she trailed off into a mumble.
"Hm? Speak up, girl!" He frowned, booping her head right back with a sharp 'thunk!'
"Ow! I asked you to teach me! Teach me how to act in a way that won't piss off all those other demons." She quieted, dropping her hands from her head. "I don't want his choice to reflect badly on him. I don't care what they or you say about me...but if they start thinking poorly of him because of me, I wouldn't... want that."
Jaken's large eyes blinked slowly, and he straightened, looking her over. "Hnn..."
Kagome felt like he were imitating Sesshoumaru's habit, but it was more like a high pitched, helium induced version. She bit back a smile at the thought.
He gave a sharp nod then, and waved the staff violently in front of her face. "Right then! If you have the resolve, I will strive to turn you into a slightly less wretched version of your pitiful human self. Unfortunately we can't do anything about your species- ow!"
"Uh-huh, enough of that. Let's get on with this, please?" Kagome mutters, dusting off her hands as she stood.
Jaken nodded, turning his head up and leading the way with an air of importance. Kagome hoped she hadn't just made a severe mistake.
Tea ceremonies, calligraphy, etiquette training...even posture control. When she'd asked Jaken for help, she hadn't expected the training to be quite so...snobby? And so close to home of what human nobility practised.
"Ow!" Kagome hissed, quickly snatching back her hand and clutching it to her. She glared at the toad across the low table, "I won't be able to hold the pot if you keep hitting my hand!" She growled, eyeing the staff and considering breaking the bane of her existence.
"Well stop slouching like that! Imagine you're in the presence of the distinguished, beautiful Lady Kimi. Her eyes are sharper than the finest blade- any weakness on your part will be noticed immediately! Especially such a slouch."
"If Lady Kimi cares so much about something as pedantic as Tea Ceremonies then maybe it's a lost cause that we'd get on. Whoever she is," Kagome grumps, lifting the ridiculously large pot and pouring the hot liquid into Jaken's tiny cup, trying not to relax her spine too much. She was grateful Kaede had lent them her hut to practice in, not wanting her friends to see this.
"The nerve! Lady Kimi is Lord Sesshoumaru's mother! She demands respect." He huffs, sipping from the cup and making a pained squawk when it burned his tongue.
That made Kagome pause. "His Mother..." she trailed off thoughtfully, trying to picture such a person. She'd chatted so often about her family, and spared no detail about her gentle, slightly quirky mother. Sesshoumaru had barely talked about his own.
Kagome sat back on her heels, considering. "I hope my being human doesn't bring back any bad memories of the whole- Inuyasha's mom thing."
Jaken tuts, inhaling the fragrance of the tea. "She'll probably not take you too seriously. It's likely she'll view you as passing entertainment for her son. It's not like you and Lord Sesshoumaru are mated."
Her face flamed red, and Kagome stared at her knees, setting down the pot with a 'clank.' Of all creatures, Jaken was not the one she wanted to discuss that with. "Ahaha- y-yeah. Uh...is there anything I can do to make her take me more seriously?"
"Hmm...You could fight one of Lord Sesshoumaru's admirers to the death."
Blue eyes turned flat. "No."
"Fussy girl. Fine then, you could demonstrate that you're on equal ground with my Lord by riding atop Ah-Un."
"Huh? Rin does that all the time, what's so-"
"Without his muzzle or saddle." Jaken adds sharply, scratching his chin. "You must tame Ah-Un to obey you without question. Not as a pet like Rin does, but as a subordinate like my Lord."
"How to train your dragon is going to sue me for copyright," Kagome mumbled, getting to her feet and straightening her summer clothes, smoothing her skirt. "Okay. That sounds much better than this stuff- how do I tame him? Do I give him sugar cubes or rub his belly?"
"Impudent girl!" Jaken barked, soon leading the way from the hut on the outskirts of the village. Ah-Un lazed in the sun at the edge of the wood, seeming very content. The dragon's scales gleamed in the light, and one of the two heads rested atop the other. Gentle snores escaped the beast, causing Kagome to smile at the sight. This is going to be a walk in the park.
"Wake up at once!" Jaken hopped about, poking the hide of the dragon with the staff. "Your services are needed, don't ignore me foul beast!"
When Ah-Un did not stir, Kagome dropped to one knee, reaching out and fiddling with the fastenings of the bridle and muzzle of one of the heads. A yellow eye peeled open to pin her with a startled, keen look. She smiled reassuringly.
"Hey, don't bite me, okay? I'm just taking you both out of these-" she lifted the muzzle off the jaw of the dragon, and he gave a yawn, tongue curling. It's teeth flashed. They were flat and nonthreatening, leading Kagome to realise that it was a herbivore. "So can we start over? I don't want you to treat me like Rin or Jaken okay? You don't have to protect me like Sesshoumaru ordered. I'd like to...earn your loyalty."
The free head, which Kagome now noted to be the left and therefore Un, blinked at her. She lifted the muzzle off Ah, and set it to one side along with the bridle. "I want you to treat me like Sesshoumaru. So...Jaken said I've got to 'tame' you. Is that alright?" She asked, which caused the heads to look at each other, perplexed.
Jaken scoffed as he fiddled with the strap of the saddle, loosening it. "Stupid girl, Lord Sesshoumaru wouldn't ask. He'd demand." He grumbles, tottering around the side of the beast to glare up at the heads. "Now listen here! You're going to fly and run about just like you did in the wild before our gracious Lord caught you. Understood? This girl intends to be our Lords mate."
Kagome looked into Ah's eyes as the dragon gave a listless nod, it's nature apparently quite relaxed. "So um...how do I go about 'taming' Ah-Un?"
"It's simple. You just have to get on the beasts back and grab it by the mane- while invoking the name of the house claiming it."
"Oh, so I guess mine would be Higurashi." She hums, stretching and padding around the side of Ah-Un. "That doesn't sound too hard, way easier than calligraphy."
The moment she lifted the saddle from it's back however, Ah-Un leapt up into the air, sailing high above the trees. Kagome started in surprise, a cold sweat breaking out on the back of her neck. How...am I supposed to catch it like that?
Something that sounded like a witches cackle had her looking down, dazed. Jaken was grinning up at her, and he swept his arm out. "Please do your best!" He burst into another round of laughter, causing her shoulders to tense, jaw setting.
"Right." She muttered, rolling up her sleeves. "Let's do this."
Sesshoumaru slowly glanced down at the never ending chatter by his side. Ever since he'd touched down on the border of the village, the kit had not stopped talking. He'd made no attempt to answer, but had listened enough to glean the key details of the one sided conversation: Shippo had been practising the techniques and heeded the advice he'd offered about transforming, but had only managed some basic manipulations.
"I mean whenever I transform into a human my tail always stays! Why does it do that? Do you have that problem? Is that fluffy thing on your shoulder your tail? It doesn't look attached-"
"Enough, kit." Sesshoumaru uttered, inhaling slightly. Odd...he could sense holy powers, yet did not detect any new youkai in the area. What had the miko been up to?
"Hey...isn't that your dragon?" Shippo asked, perplexed as he pointed at the dull green shape flying above the trees, tail swaying in a tell-tale playful action. Sesshoumaru rose a brow and padded forward, appearing at the edge of a clearing and lingering under the shade of the full branches of leaves.
A dark mane of hair caught his eye as Kagome leapt from some nearby bushes, shaking the greenery off her as she sprinted. She threw a rope out that he distractedly recognised as a lasso of some sort, but it fell short of Ah-Un's tail. The dragon somersaulted out of reach, and the girl fell onto the floor, rolling into a crouch and whining.
"No fair! You're not supposed to move," she huffed, causing the heads to let out a rumbling noise of amusement. One of the heads opened it's jaws, a bright blue light emanating from within it's throat. This was Kagome's only warning as she quickly jumped away, a bolt of lightning hitting the spot moments later. It scorched the grass, causing smoke to curl into the air.
Sesshoumaru noticed Kagome draw an arrow, firing at the dragon. Ah-Un dodged and swept down closer, soaring through the clearing and dancing just out of reach as Kagome threw the lasso out again.
She made a noise of frustration, pushing her hair behind her ear, but her back stiffened. Turning ever so slightly on her heel, she peeked over her shoulder at his location. Sesshoumaru was mildly curious about the unease rolling off her, as though she'd been caught doing something she shouldn't. For the most part though, he was more confused than anything.
Kagome smiled weakly and waved at him. "H-hey there, missed you. Um...me and Ah-Un were just- uh...playing! That's right. Playing," she nodded quickly as Sesshoumaru steadily approached.
He arched a regal brow, "indeed. This one did not think humans took attacks so lightly. It's something I'll have to remember."
Golden eyes bore down on her, sharp and demanding. Kagome sighed, lips pressing together. She could never lie to him for long. Before she could say anything though, a large hand hooked around the underside of her knee, and suddenly she was fighting to keep her balance. Kagome's arms waved in the air, and she quickly planted her hands on his broad shoulders. Sesshoumaru bent down slightly, lifting her knee up so that he could better inspect it.
Kagome blinked, having not noticed it was bleeding, but now awareness crept up on her, and the cut stung. Sesshoumaru's narrow gaze slid to Ah-Un, and the dragon made a soft crooning noise, much like a kicked puppy.
"Don't blame Ah-Un. This was...this was my idea. Besides it's just a little scrape, you know I can handle this."
"Hn, yet you have not explained what you are 'handling."
She smiled and patted the sturdy shoulder under her hand. "Think of it like sparring. I have to keep my skills sharp, right? Wouldn't want any demons to think less of me."
That silver brow quirked again, eyes burning. 'Who would think less of you?' they seemed to demand.
Kagome quickly looked away, gaze landing on her yellow bag. She tugged at her leg as she forced a grin. "Oh! I nearly forgot. I brought you some more puzzles."
Hot breath fanned over her exposed knee, and the cut pulsed in response. Her eyes widened as feather soft lips pressed down on the bloodied flesh, causing a blush to race over her cheeks. Kagome winced slightly when his lips became a firmer pressure, and told herself she was not painfully aware of her skirt hitching up, baring more of her thigh. Swallowing thickly and letting out a shaky breath, she started as their gazes remained locked, his becoming hooded. Her heart stumbled in her chest and quickly picked up.
"...That's not fair." She found her voice too husky for her own liking.
It was his turn to smile, lips curling up into a predatory smirk, a hint of a fang flashing at her. "Yet it is the most effective method."
Kagome breathed out as something shot down to the pit of her stomach, burning low. "I just...want to be on equal footing with you in other demons eyes. Taming Ah-Un is one way of achieving that," she tried to distract herself, finally freeing her knee from his grip and setting it down.
Sesshoumaru looked at her flatly, "it is unnecessary."
She lifted a shoulder, unable to stop the grin from tugging up her mouth, "maybe so, but anyway, I really did get you gifts. Stop interrupting my gift giving!" With a dash, she scooped up her bag and yanked the zip open excitedly riffling through it. She told herself she was not kind of giddy about the kiss, that would be dumb and silly. They'd kissed loads of times. Sesshoumaru waited patiently, but padded closer with a vague air of curiosity.
Kagome straightened and turned with a grin, showing him the puzzle. There was a thin metal circle, and two rods connected to it.
"Okay," she passed it over. "For this puzzle you've got to unhook the two rods from the circle and-"
Sesshoumaru unhooked them with a simple movement of his hand. Kagome's jaw dropped. She grit her teeth as heat rose to her cheeks. "Y-you show off!"
His eyes glittered, and he passed the gift back silently, arching a brow expectantly.
Kagome huffed and stomped to her bag again. "Stupid intelligent jerk," she grumbled, suddenly yanking a cube out of the bag and holding it up.
"This time you'll get a real challenge! That was just a warm up. This is a rubik's cube." She grinned evilly, tossing it over to him. Sesshoumaru caught it easily, glancing at it for a moment.
"...Is the aim of the puzzle to make all the sides one colour?" Was all he asked.
Kagome felt her grin slip slightly at his unaffected tone. "Yeah..."
He focused on the cube and started turning the sides. Kagome felt her expression morph from stunned, annoyed, and finally to exasperation. Sesshoumaru turned the final green side of the cube, completing it in a matter of moments.
Again those warm gold eyes rose to meet hers, and somehow Kagome was reminded of a dog waiting for a stick to be thrown. He didn't say it, but it seemed like he was...enjoying himself.
"Do all humans struggle with these simple games? Or are they meant for children?" He asks in a velvety tone, and her slightly affectionate musings were cut short. She glowered. It had not taken her two weeks to solve a rubik's cube, nope.
Kagome caught the cube he threw back to her, and gave a ticked off 'humph!' "Just you wait mister, you won't be laughing- or uh...smiling with your eyes for long!"
It was then she realised hopelessly that she hadn't actually brought any more puzzles for him. No wait...she did have something.
Kagome rose from her crouch and smoothly approached him, holding something. Sesshoumaru blinked, but waited, lifting up his hand to accept the unique looking orb. It was black, but had a white circle, with a number 8 fixed in the middle. He could hear something like liquid inside it, and looked at Kagome for instruction this time.
She smiled at him, mischief curling around the edges of her mouth like smoke. "This is called a Magic 8 Ball. It's not a puzzle, but it can tell you your future, see-" she plucked the ball out of his hands and thought for a moment. "Magic 8 Ball, will I catch Ah-Un today?" She asked in a serious sounding tone.
Turning the ball over in her hands, she leaned in to look at a circle Sesshoumaru hadn't noticed. A blue triangle floated up into view, white letters telling her - Absolutely.
Kagome gave a victory cheer, handing it back to Sesshoumaru and waiting with bright enthusiasm. Sesshoumaru eyed the orb warily, "this one decides his own future. The fates do not govern me."
His intended gave a cry of frustration. "That's just like you to say! Just give it a chance. Please?"
When her expression turned pleading, Sesshoumaru cut his eyes to the sky, before turning to the orb. "...Magic 8 Ball, will this one be successful in his quest?" He asks lowly, causing Kagome to wonder what he was referring to. Had he not been at the Western Lands today, but actually on some new quest?
Sesshoumaru turned the ball over just like Kagome had, and they both leaned down slightly to look at the triangle. - Don't count on it.
Burning gold instantly locked on her and Kagome quickly held up her hands. "H-hey! It's not saying it's impossible! M-maybe try again?" She suggests weakly.
Lips thin, he turns back to the orb and utters out the same question, while Kagome feels something tug on her light sweater. She glances down at Shippo, who smiles at her. "That game looks cool, can I play next?"
Kagome winces. She had intended to give the ball to Shippo originally, but the proud Demon Lord had annoyed her so much she'd ended up using it. "Y-yeah, of course you can, Shippo. Just wait your turn and I'm sure Sesshoumaru will-"
A hissing noise caught her attention. The stench of something burning and acidic offended her nose. Kagome placed her hand over her nose and mouth, "what the heck- Sesshoumaru!"
The Daiyoukai glanced up at her, hand slightly lifted from his side, mercilessly pouring poison from his claws onto the Magic 8 Ball on the ground.
Kagome gave a sigh, patting Shippo's head. "I'll get you a new one," she mumbles, ushering the boy at her side away from the fumes.
A little while later, after the ball was nothing but a crumpled, melted heap of black goo on the forest floor, Sesshoumaru deigned to grace them with his attention again.
"As previously mentioned. It is unnecessary for you to be taking on the traditions of my kind," he mutters, waving a hand in the direction of the aimlessly flying Ah-Un.
Kagome shrugged. "I needed something to distract me while you were away."
Golden eyes warm, and he seemed to forgive her for the foul fortune-telling orb. "Hn...this one is here now," his voice is deep and smooth.
"I know," she drew up onto her tiptoes and pecked him on the lips, winking with a saccharine smile. "I won't be long."
Sesshoumaru hums, cooled claws brushing her hand lightly, thumb trailing over her red and slightly sore knuckles. He seemed to pause, but Kagome was more distracted by his hand. The Higurashi seal was still there, after several weeks. Curiously her stamper had gone missing. He's not been...re-applying that, has he?
Sesshoumaru slowly glances over at Shippo. The kit had been waiting patiently the entire time, albeit with his back awkwardly turned, scuffing his small paw on the ground.
Shippo starts and looks up when a shadow falls over him, Sesshoumaru's gaze fixed on the boy.
"Come, kit."
Shippo blinks in surprise, watching the Daiyoukai pad away without a backwards look. Shippo glances at Kagome, who shoots him a thumbs up, smiling encouragingly. With a spring in his step, he hurries after the flow of white hair, causing Kagome to lightly giggle. Adorable.
Though to her surprise, when she heard Jaken racing over to him with a greeting- Sesshoumaru kicked the imp, sending him soaring over the tree tops like a screeching football. Shippo seemed to ask him why he'd just abused his retainer. Sesshoumaru gave the taciturn answer of; "he knows why."
Turning back to the matter at hand slightly confused, Kagome looked up at the dragon lazing in the sky. At least the break had given her room to think, and she'd never catch Ah-Un using conventional means. She turned on her heel, getting to work under the shadows of the trees.
Ah-Un eventually tired of flying, giving a lethargic yawn. In truth, the dragon had gotten used to simply being a 'beast of burden' so was unused to such long stretches of activity. Un made a noise as he caught sight of something. Flying down towards a flat, sunbathed rock near a stream, two pairs of eyes locked on the Lettuce leaves that had been scattered atop it. The dragon settled down, ears pricked as the two heads tore into the leaves, happily munching away. It's not as if the miko could be easily forgotten, but she'd been gone for awhile, and Ah-Un felt tired. Perhaps resting for a moment would be...
The sound of something scuffing on the ground- like a shoe, had Ah raising his head. Kagome grinned, standing on the opposite side of the river, soaked to the bone to throw off her scent. The beast's yellow eye's widened as she aimed her arrow- not at them, but at a rope strung tight into the ground. Kagome fired, and the arrow cut through the rope, causing a previously concealed net to shoot down from the branches.
Ah-Un made a startled noise as the net landed atop them, and quickly thrashed and wriggled. Kagome dashed through the stream, leaping onto the dragon's back and scrambling to reach for it's mane.
"Hold still!" Kagome laughed, feeling her body jolt as the dragon bucked.
Just as she grabbed hold of the hair-like mane under the net, the dragon jumped up into the air, rolling. Kagome gasped and locked her legs around it's hide, tightening her grip as she felt herself nearly be thrown.
"I claim you in- gah!" Her chin smacked into dull green scales as Ah-Un thrashed down with a roar, landing on the ground. Tangling it's legs in the net, it's tail swung from side to side, trying to shake free.
"I claim you in the name of-" Kagome gave a sharp cry of pain as the dragon rolled heavily onto one side, trapping her leg beneath it's hide and crushing it into the ground. Gritting her teeth as tears pricked her eyes, Kagome's fingers made a fist in the mane, and she tugged, voice finding it's strength.
"I claim you in the name of house Higurashi!"
Ah-Un stilled, the two heads perking up. Kagome breathed out, "...sit up, easy now."
The dragon did as asked, straightening from it's position on it's side to lay in a more dignified manner. Kagome felt her ankle pulse, but she ignored it in favour of wrestling with the net, finally lifting it off over their heads. She tossed it aside and winced as she panted, reaching down to touch her foot- quickly retracting her hand.
Ah-Un gave a low croon, Un turning it's long neck to glance at her, as though sensing her pain. Kagome gave a weak smile, breathing out, "I-I'm okay. Don't worry about me. But uh...I should probably go home before Sesshoumaru finds out about this." She thought back to the two men who had nearly wounded her, and hoped that Sesshoumaru would see reason enough not to skin the dragon. Still, she really didn't want to worry anyone, and her time felt like the best place to be for injuries if she could help it. Pulling her sock down slightly, Kagome's lips thinned at the sight that awaited her. Black bruises circed around her ankle.
At her soft request, the dragon flew into the air, though it's movements were careful not to jostle her. Kagome smiled slightly, patting it's side. "Now I can see how you take such good care of Rin," she mutters, trying to distract herself from the pain.
Ah-Un gave another noise, and she directed it towards the Bone Eaters Well, breathing out in relief when it came into view beneath them.
Something faint teased at the edge of her awareness, like a breeze to an incoming storm. Sesshoumaru's signature youki reached out from where Edo lay, no doubt searching for her pulse of reiki. Kagome bit her lip, hard. If she reached out, he'd sense her pain in the tangled web of their energy, and would probably come looking for her.
"Hurry, Ah-Un," she bid, gripping the dragon's mane as it soared down from the sky towards the well.
The youki spread wider behind her, hot on her heels. She felt his breath on her neck. 'Why aren't you answering me?'
Kagome quickly lifted her uninjured leg, swinging it over so that she rode 'side saddle.' When the well was in position below her, she glanced at Ah-Un. "I'll be back, please tell Sesshoumaru not to worry. Just say it's an emergency."
With shift, she pushed off the dragon and plunged from the sky, her hair whipping up above her as she fell towards the well's opening. As the breeze sped past her, Kagome sensed what felt like long, clawed fingernails strain to reach her black locks. The strands slid through his fingers, and Kagome disappeared within the depths of the well with a burst of magic.
When she smelt the familiar fumes of the city, and collapsed into a heap at the bottom of the well, Kagome let out a long, agonised cry that she'd been holding in. Her ankle flared up, and Kagome grasped the rungs of the ladder, hauling herself up. Whatever it was, she needed a Doctor.
And pain killers. Lots of them.

Episode 6: My Lost City
Buckle up, and more importantly, arm yourself with tissue boxes, we’re gonna need it.
Pfffft. Max, when will you ever learn the rest of the lines? (Not that I know them, either.)
*swoons into Mappa’s waiting arms* Gorgeous.
Oh, my heart, look at these cuties sleeping. Shorter, cover your tummy, you’ll get a tummy ache. Q vQ
*cries over how precious these two are* Bless this tiny extra scene.
*blows kisses at Mappa*
I LOVE THIS TINY ADDITION. OF COURSE IBE WOULD TAKE PICTURES. I WISH THEY HAD EIJI TAKING PICTURES TOO.
*swoons even more* Mappa, please, you’re killing me.
*cries some more* I have always loved how gentle Ash is with Jennifer.
Jimmy my dude, why’d ya gotta act like this???? >:T
WOW, this is so tame compared to the mango like. Woah.
This had hurt so much, because we know that Max is a father. He has a son, Michael, that he was trying to fight for custody for, but was convinced that giving up was what was best for his son. Imagine being a father who desperately misses their son, who wants to be in their son’s life, and watching another man treat his son like trash. MY HEART. MAX.
Oh god, Ash’s expression. It hurts so much more than it did before. Mappa, why you gotta do this to meeee. I have a soft, squishy little baby girl heart and it bleeds easily.
Totally my bad: They changed the order. JIMMY WHY YOU GOTTA BE LIKE THIS.
*dying hippo noises* IT STILL KILLS ME. FUCK.
*CRIES*
Jennifer is way too good for you, Jim.
*whispers* It’s so gorgeous.
Ash, please. 8′(
I wish Shorter didn’t have his sunglasses on. I want to see his face. Is he super-imposing Nadia onto Griff in this story. We don’t know anything about Shorter’s past. Did Nadia raise him? I HAVE FEELINGS.
Jennifer. Q AQ <3
*cries* I know. I agree with you entirely, Ash. Oof, I love how gentle he is with her. My heart. Look at that face. Let me pretend the one thing he missed about Cape Cod was Jennifer. Let me pretend she had more influence and was able to help Ash and Griff in little ways. Let me pretend Jennifer is stronger than she probably is.
My heart.
Ash, why you always gotta be like this, twisting the knives in wounds and pouring salt all over them. It’s not like Max wants to see your painful past, it’s just that y’all need to suffer through it to get what you want --the truth about Banana Fish.
Thank you Mappa for adding this scene! I’m constantly so worried you’ll cut out all the light-hearted bits in exchange for pure drama. Q vQ
My heart. Eiji, your precious face. Q vQ
MAPPA STOP PLAYING WITH MY HEART LIKE A STRESS BALL. It grows two sizes at the sight of Eiji’s adorable face and then is crushed by Ash’s pained one. *clutches chest*
WOW YOU ARE SO RUDE MAPPA. SURE, JUST KEEP ADDING NEW PUNCHES TO THE HEART. NOT LIKE I NEED ONE. NOPE.
*whispers* My secret favorite thing is how close Shorter and Eiji have been. I have protective feelings about these two and Shorter has protective feelings for Eiji.
Sure is him. Is it just me or do they all have surprisingly long hair for military people.
Aaaaand Ash brings out a smart phone. Soogle...Soosle? This is... attempt... #5 for cells trying to save the day. (So far, they never have.)
*strangled noises*
Oh Ibe, you’re so soft with Eiji. You still have the mafia after you guys, you should be yoinking Eiji and heading for the nearest international airport.
Also... y’all aren’t gonna discuss your Visa difficulties?
Trust me, Ash. They all do. Q vQ
Ash, please. Griff would be their age.
Oh gosh, look at their faces. ‘What exactly set him off this time?’ ‘I dunno. It’s like a horse suddenly raging. Maybe a fly flew into his ear.’
Shhhhh, he’s just young. And cranky.
*strangled sobbing*
Excuse me as I interrupt this weekly Nanner Fish Liveblog to cry about the scenery in the next few seconds of footage:
You are such a liar, Ash. You have very particular feelings towards your home.
*cries more at sleeping cuties*
Ash... this feels like such a waste? Someone spent a lot of time brewing that! Couldn’t you have filled empty ones with water??
*cries more at the sky* Clearly what is gonna make me die of dehydration this episode isn’t what I thought it was gonna be. It’s gonna be the backgrounds.
Eiji... I know nothing about shooting but that looks super precarious. Your center of gravity looks... yeah. Ash looks so judgmental. Q vQ
Alright, Annie Oakley. You missed a shot too.
Oh, Ibe. Subtly trying to get Eiji away.
Not subtle enough, though.
*cries both over the words and the detail put into the sky and the sea*
I’ve always found this surprisingly profound, especially since my mother, a naturalized US citizen, has similar opinions about parents in Taiwan coddling their children. (Taiwan has the same age of majority as Japan, 20 years old.)
And Japan’s crime rate is also a lot lower. But Ash is right, Ibe, you aren’t in Japan and you have very dangerous people with very dangerous guns after you all.
Bless their attention to detail. Lookit the truck!
I love how they have Max fixing the truck! Instead of it getting magically fixed, we get a new tidbit about Max! I wonder if he learned this while serving.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeell...
When Max is the voice of reason, listen.
Yeeees! It’s finally here! Please forgive me as I spam gyazo and take a hundred pictures because I’ve been waiting for this!
*strangled dying manatee noises*
(Shorter, are you trying to steal Ash’s sandwich while you still have yours.)
(Look at that hand. You totally were, weren’t you. You glutton.)
(Oh, my tiny Grinch heart. Look at this smile. It just grew fifteen sizes.)
(*cries forever* Protecting Eiji is like preserving a vision of himself he could never attain. Putting Eiji on a pedestal and keeping him safe and clean and pure, because he wishes he was Eiji. Excuse me as I have painful flashbacks to Tsuki no Ko and Tirt’s love for Seth.)
BLESS THEM. MY HEART. THEY KEPT THESE LINES.
*sings softly* “I will whisper my name to you: Antonio Salieri: patron saint of mediocrities.”
So you’re keeping this bit but not the Visa part? At least Ibe is keeping some of his old manipulative tendencies when it comes to Eiji.
(”It’s the only way to keep that child safe.” Anyone’s Japanese better than mine who can confirm this is indeed Ibe continuing to view Eiji as a child that needs to be sheltered and not just a cultural barrier?)
And straight back into the coddling, right after the profound revelation.
Jimmy, please.
Tear him a new one, Eiji!
My heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeart. These two lines. Leave to me to die in this small sea of salt and tears.
Something I will always miss is the loss of Eiji’s poor English. Q vQ
Oh boy, get your tissues ready. It’s here.
(Afghanistan is replacing Korea, huh.)
(*dying manatee noises* Someone, save this poor child.)
(FUCK THESE OFFICERS WITH A CIRCULAR SAW. HOW DARE THEY. TO A CHILD. AN ABUSED CHILD. FUCK THEM.)
(*CRIES*)
(Let me spirit him away to a kinder, gentler world. Like GSNK. Or Kimi to Boku where it’s just boys sorting out their feelings.)
(I WILL NEVER FUCKING UNDERSTAND YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS FOR THIS BUT AT LEAST IT FUCKING SAVED ASH. AT LEAST IT SAVED ASH.)
(HE WITHOUT A DOUBT DESERVED WORSE.)
(THIS SICK BASTARD. CMLKDSMFLDSF.)
(I also super hate the way it’s presented in the anime, so take this small manga panel:
LIKE YES, IT MAKES SENSE, WANTING TO PROTECT YOUR SON FROM THE VICIOUS WORDS PEOPLE SAY SO YOU’D SEND HIM TO HIS AUNT’S...
BUT THAT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT EXPLAIN OR EXCUSE THE SHIT YOU SLING AT HIM NOW, JIM. MY DUDE, YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST ONE SON. TRY TO SAVE WHAT RELATIONSHIP YOU CAN HAVE WITH YOUR LAST ONE.
Shorter. Shorter. He didn’t want anyone to know. He didn’t want anyone to ever know.
*dying manatee noises* Eiji... *strangled noises about leopards and mountains*
Jennifer, you beautiful soul. Why are you with this mess.
No, you listen to Jennifer!
Fuck.
No, Shorter. This is where he’s from. New York is his home.
Yes, good. Thank god.
You’re searching for Ash in the dark. Please take off your shades, Shorter.
Or not.
Shorter, you’re wearing so much more than you were originally in the manga. Q vQ
Look at that. Gorgeous even in the dark. *blows kisses at Mappa*
Good instinct!
Baaaaaaaaaaaad instinct. So bad.
Eiji, no.
He’s got his back pressed against the wall.
Dammit.
Listen to Shorter, Eiji.
They sure fucking did.
It’s so awful that they somehow managed to make this situation even marginally better.
They had ripped off her top in the manga.
It’s entirely possible they did worse. She doesn’t even have her shoes on. D8
Fuck you. Leave Jennifer alone.
*sweats nervously but also blows kisses at Mappa because hnnng I love the way they deal with lighting, lookit the soft glow of the porch lights*
Max has a plan. I love it when Max has plans. Brilliance or hilarity ensues.
JIM’S FACE. Either he just realized his son still loves him or he’s fucking terrified that his son is now in immediate danger. (I think it’s both.)
Oh, Jennifer. You deserve none of this. None of it. Protect her.
Brilliance. That’s what happens today. Brilliance.
FUCKING LISTEN TO SHORTER EIJI.
THIS IS SO MUCH WORSE BECAUSE IN THE MANGA I THOUGHT SHE TRIED TO COVER HIM. BUT THAT ACTUALLY DOESN’T MAKE SENSE SINCE THESE ASSHOLES MAKE IT CLEAR THEY AREN’T TO KILL ASH.
THEY SHOT HER TO MAKE A FUCKING POINT.
JENNIFER.
ASH’S FACE. Nope, this is fine. I was born from water, let me return to the salty depths.
THERE WAS NO ONE WORD YOU COULD’VE SAID THAT WOULD’VE MADE THIS FUCKING HURT MORE, ASH. *drowns in own tears of feelings*
Don’t fucking see why you’re smiling, asshole.
There, Shorter’s fixed it.
EIJI WHY ARE YOU HERE. SHORTER TOLD YOU TO STAY THERE.
*STRANGLED SOBBING*
YOU SHOULD’VE TREATED HER LIKE A GODDESS, JIM. YOUR LAST WORDS TO HER SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THOSE A GIANT TANTRUM THROWING CHILD’S.
Ash’s expressions are going to fucking murder me.
Sir, why don’t you have a cell phone???? Why aren’t you questioning why none of these people haven’t called yet???? (Well, to be fair, this is a panic situation...)
*sobbing* A father’s love.
And a son’s.
MY HEART. *cries* Why couldn’t you have both talked like this from the beginning?????????????????? JIM, YOU GIANT BABY.
Excuse me. I just need to... cry. Lots.
ASH AND HIS FACE. TELL THE POLICE. THEY ARE THE CULPRITS. MY MURDER.
*whispers* You should’ve kept this line to help explain the robbery. And help fund them in LA.
*weeps*
FUCKING DINO.
SO GORGEOUS. I AM SO UPSET.
HALF-TRUTH. ALSO, PLOOOOOOT.
LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. NOOOOOOOOOOOO.
FUCKING NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
LEEEEEEEE. FUCK YOOOOOU.
Chinatowns are everywhere. |||orz
Fuuuuuuck. Yut Lung is here.
Shorter, please. Beggars can’t be choosers. (Or, those on the run from the Coriscan Mafia can’t whine when they at least have working transportation.)
*whispers softly to Mappa* Chicago, dearests, not Cicago.
Guess they’re cutting out one of the best scenes if this guy’s already here.
*blows kisses at Mappa* Gorgeous.
Still... where in LA are they supposed to be? I think that’s supposed to be downtown, but I don’t remember any forest-y areas around downtown. (Says someone who may live in LA county but rarely goes west towards downtown. Maybe there are. I tend to go east. :V)
The Great Shorter And Ash Chicken Raid.
You will not be forgotten.
Oof. Stay hydrated, guys! I’m kinda emotionally drained, so I’m off now. |||orz

I've just discovered there's people who hate Kakeru. Not dislike or don't get the hype about him but genuinely seem to hate him. Now obviously personal preferences are a thing but I seriously don't get where this hate could be coming from because with
1. Akito- phyically assaults people (including kids), held a teenager hostage for daiting & trying to take a box of her's that Akito already knew was empty & also stabbed someone after they tried to help her & left them to potentially die
2. Shigure- regularly makes perverted "jokes" about people who are underage (including the 16 year old girl who lives with him & cleans/cooks for him + he's family) & admits to manipulating everyone around him for he's own selfish goal regardless of how it could hurt others & that he dosn't really care about being kind even to the people he supposedly loves + he likes messing with people he knows are already terribly anxious & he also won in the end while never having to actually sacrifice anything important to him or really learn anything of value
3. Ayame- abounded he's brother to abuse till he was almost 30 & says various inappropriate things in front of & towards High Schoolers
4. Kagura- pretended to love someone 3 years younger then her who she saw as beneath her in a violent (though it was obviously in out-dated slap stick) way until she was like 18 & then slaps Tohru so hard she becomes uncounsious
5. Kureno- enabler of Akito despite no longer being supernaturally bound to her & knowingly fell for a High Schooler
6. Hatori- enabler of Akito & erasers people's memories when told to regardless of how he knows it'll hurt others
7. Katsuya- knowingly married (& later impregnated) isolated & homeless 15 year old Kyoko when he was in he's 20's after meeting her as a teacher in her middle school
8. Ren- everything about her
9. Kyo's sperm donor- everything about him
10. Momiji's parents- how they handled the situation
11. Machi's mum- raised her daughter like a robot, replaced her, insulted her entire personality, acussed her of attempted murder with bassically zero evidence, kicked her out of her home, cut her off from her sibling & only ocasnially calls to insult her leading to her developing a rather unhealthy coping mechanism to deal with her damaged mental health
12. Machi & Kakeru's dad- cheated on his wife, made he's kids fight over thier inheritance before getting another child & then treating the first two like they no longer exsisted
13. Kakeru's mum- took years to realise that she shouldn't use her child to get money/power from an affair
14. Haru- got a little too insistent about phyical affection from someone who he knows is super emotinally scarred (I still love him though just don't think certain scenes with Rin were handeld as delicately as they probably should have been) & can get rather harsh to random people when he goes dark (the worse case of this being when he grabbed Tohru's arm)
15. Rin's parents- belong in hell
16. The Sohma maids (especially the old one)- are part of the reason Akito became as messed up as she did + just straight up seem to not view kids or the zodiac as human beings with thier own feelings or rights
17. Uo's mum- straight up abounded her young daughter after getting into a new relationship
18. Yuki & Ayame's mum- narsastic, dismissive, controlling, litrually sold one of her kids to thier abuser in exchange for wealth/status, never apologised or even acknowledged what she had done
19. Akira- pursued a relationship pretty much out of pure lonleyness, went along with the suppression of Akito's biological gender, didn't do enough to protect Akito from he's wife's abuse (though in he's defense he was incredible sickly), last few things he told he's child before dying was that he was glad he had her as proof of he's relationship with Ren (AKA the person that had made it clear to Akito that she hated her guts) & that she was special due to being god & her bond with the zodiac was her birth right & would always be there (leading Akito to obviously feeling possessive & intilted over the zodiac & base her entire identity on her position as their god)
20. Kyoko- neglected infant Tohru for months due to her depression after Katuya's death & was even planning on killing herself to be with him again before finally coming to her senses (I love her & I tottally get why she did what she did but if it weren't for gramps little Tohru would have been in one hell of bad situation)
21. The Yuki Fan Club- just thier entire attitude towards Yuki & any girl that interacts with him (I get that it's obviously a delibretly over the top anime gag but irl the way they behave would be seriously disturbing & I'm pretty sure might even be illegal now what with all the photos taken of Yuki without he's knowledge)
22. The former school president- he's creepy fravriotisim towards Yuki (& later he's son) & he's flat out harrasing of anyone wearing the school uniform in a none tradishinal way or anyone with an unusual hair colour (despite him bassically admitting that the school officials had already said that Momiji, Haru & Kyo's appearances were ok)
23. Kimi- I like her & she's obviously iconic but honestly the way she treats Machi kind of borders on bullying sometimes for me
24. Hiro- he's a child & I like him but when we first met him you can't deny he was being a grade A shit to Tohru, Kisa & everyone else (& he fucks up again with Tohru during the beach arc)
25. Rin- love her so much but the first time she met Tohru she did try to kick her in the head while in her horse form which you know isn't great & she was rather antagonistic towards Yuki for no real vaild reason
26. Kyo- using Yuki as a scape goat he's entire life even when he knew none of the terrible things that had happened to him were actually he's fault, hurting Tohru in he's true form (I get that he wasn't in he's right mind & was suffering greatly but it still wasn't good) & rejecting Tohru after everything they had been through in the way that he did (again he wasn't in he's right mind & was suffering greatly but it's still an incredibly low blow & I think he knew that as he tragically wanted to hurt her, similar to what he did in the true form scene, badly enough that she would finally choose to give up on him)
27. The entire zodiac (outside of Kagura & maybe Momiji)- it is revealed that the zodiac are supernaturally inclined to look down on the cat & that they know about Kyo's tragic fate yet do not plan on trying to stop it from happening as he's suffering is thier one true reprieve in the curse as no matter what happens to them they will never be as "low down" as the cat yet once the curse finally breaks for everybody almost nobody even thinks to apologises to Kyo for how he was made to be an outsider since birth
28. Naohito- decides to hate Yuki out of jelousy because he has feelings for Motoko (who clearly has feelings for Yuki) despite Yuki showing no romantic feelings for Motoko & barley sharing any kind of connection with her at all which is obviously not fair as just because you happen to be liked by someone who is liked by someone else dosn't mean you should have to except being seen as a bad person (especially as in Yuki's case he never tried to encourage Motoko's obsession with him & in fact barley notices her exsistance as they aren't in any of the same social circles & she follows the ridiculous club rule of not speaking to him without another fan club member present)
29. Yuki- rather judgmental over how others choose to present themselves in regards to gender norms
30. Momiji- I love him but he did try to take advange of Tohru not knowing how old he really was to bath with her & did actually mange to use this fact to sleep along side her one night before she found out how old he actually was (now obviously Momiji is a wonderfully kind person & clearly would never actually do anything to hurt Tohru but let's be real if someone did that to you irl you'd be pretty creeped out & understandably have a hard time trusting them again)
31. Yuki & Ayame's father- has always been complety missing from he's kids lives (& even seemingly he's wive's) despite being mentioned to be still alive & well enough to work
32. Uo's dad- getting dumped for someone else must suck especially when your left with a young child & I know he did eventually clean up he's act but there's no changing the fact that he's years as an alcholic messed up Uo really bad & could have led to her death if Kyoko hadn't stepped in
33. Kazuma- I know he had good intentions & I love him but there's no denying that he did ignore Kyo's right to free will when he removed he's bracelet & though the plan ended up making he's life better if it had gone wrong in any way then Kyo had pretty much admitted (at least to himself) in S2E9 that he would have probably killed himself that night which would have clearly destroyed Tohru
34. Kyo's mum - she was obviously treated terribly by her husband & I do feel sorry for her but her way of dealing with the situation really damaged Kyo
Your really telling me that the character you have the most issues with is a boy who said a few horrible things to the MC when he was 15 in service of someone he loved who was in pain, got told by said loved one that what he'd said was wrong, felt bad about it, befriended a lonley teen that was close to the MC, quickly grew to genuinely care about them & made them come out of thier shell, wanted to help he's half sister but knew he wasn't really the right person for the job, realised that he's new friend was, encouraged the friend & he's sister's growing connection, learned how good of a person the MC has been to he's new friend, admits to he's friend that he'd been horrible to the MC in the past but just dosn't know how to go about rectifying it (especially as she dosn't seem to remember him), introduces he's friend to he's GF (further expanding the friend's positive social circle), finally bumps into MC alone & is shocked to find out that she dose now in fact remember him & even appoliges to him + thanks him for bringing her friend out of thier shell before he comes to he's senses & assures her that she has nothing to apologise for & then visits her in the hospital when she gets injured & even goes shopping for a gift to give her beforehand (even if he dosn't end up getting her something that actually fits her personality because well duh he dosn't really know anything about her).
Out of every questionably moral thing in the series this is really the hill you wanna die on?
I just honestly can't understand it. Sure he's not perfect but then no one in the series is. That's kind of the entire point of the story, that anyone can do things that hurt people but that it's what you choose to do going forward (even if it takes you a long time) that's important & Kakeru, eventually, chose to try to do the right thing. He tried to understand Yuki even though the guy didn't seem to like him at all, he chose to check up on Machi even though she seemingly hadn't made any sign of wanting to deepen thier sibling bond, he chose to finally talk to Tohru instead of continuing the ruse that he'd never spoken to her before, he chose to come clean about what happened to Yuki despite the potential of ending their friendship (& you can't tell me once he'd realised how much Yuki cared for Tohru the very real possibility that Yuki might hate him if he found out what he'd said to her wouldn't worry him at all) & he chose to visit Tohru in the hospital instead of just wishing Yuki luck or hoping Kormaki would go so he could avoid feeling uncomfortable.
You don't have to love him or even like him but I really don't think he deserves this amount of hate (especially incomparsion to some of the other characters I've listed).

Persona 6 Chapter 11: Help from a new old friend
(This chapter might get ridiculous but here we go. Warning: mentions if dyslexia. If this representation of dyslexia is offensive and/or incorrect, please let me know.)
Thrusday March 6th, 20XX Lunch
Jumin sat himself nervously in the corner with his laptop, staring down at his lap, shaking. He had never sat alone, not without Isas at least. But he wouldn't be alone for long if the girls would just hurry up. Finally, the girls sat down with their food trays and Suki with her notepads.(she filled out the last one. That's her "protagonist thing")
"T-took you long enough..." Jumin said, barely audible. Kimi rolled her eyes. "Relax, no one was even staring at you!" Jumin sighed and opened his laptop, opening the window he had earlier in the day.
"These are Isas' medical records. They haven't been updated once since he was admitted. It says the same thing it always says: illness: unknown, condition: unknown, possibly..." Jumin took a breath before speaking again. "Possibly...fatal...."
A lump formed in all their throats once the words left Jumin's lips. Jumin held back tears and gripped the edges of the table. Suki rubbed his back a little to calm him down.
"I'll get you some water..." Kimi said, standing up without another word. Suki continued to rub Jumin's back as he breathed in and out, calming himself down. "Y'know...Isas used to do this, too." He said quietly.
"Calm you down?" Jumin nodded. "I always ate lunch in the computer lab when I was younger because I hated going out and having to face..."him" and the bullies when I was younger..." Suki tilted her head. " 'Him?' "
Jumin shook a little. "Guess I didn't tell you...huh? I guess I should now that it's out there..." He swept back his large fringe of hair on the left side to reveal a large and purple bruise on the side of his head.
"I got this a few days before his arrest...he was an ex-boyfriend of my mom's before she met my dad. One day, he came up to me when I was five and he followed us home. Mom got a restraining order against him but that didn't stop him from coming around....he said he would hurt them...that he'd kill my parents and kill me too...so, everytime he came around, I'd fight him with everything I had. It didn't matter for shit how old I was-I fought him! ....He called me a dumbass everytime he'd beat me down. Said I couldn't read, see, or fight for shit...and that's what all the kids said when I started school....and they'd beat on me too..."
Jumin gripped his pants and gritted his teeth, a few tears falling down his face. "I-I'd skip school a lot and be on my computer all the time...but then my parents stopped sending out fake sick notes a-and...I have dyslexia...I can't read as well as everyone else...and everyone else, teachers, tutors...they gave up on me...I gave up on me...but my parents did it.... Isas didn't...Isas helped me! He went through all my crap and helped me! He's my best friend and I-" Jumin teared up even more, choking back sobs.
"I-I didn't help him...I-I S-should've known....i-I can't lose him, S-Soup...I can't..." Suki sighed and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug.
"I know, Jumin...I know. I've...I've been down that road. But I promise you, you will not lose him. We can save him. We will save him, just like we'll save everyone else. Together." Jumin looked down at Suki, a hopeful smile on his face through tearful eyes. Suki could feel a strong beacon of hope form inside Jumin. (Here we go again)
"I am thou...
Thou art I...
Thou has created a new vow.
Thou has birthed new life and
Blossomed forth the vow of the Hermit Arcana..."
Hermit Arcana: Rank 1
The voice faded out in Suki's head. Wow, three in only two days! She thought. Jumin was now calm and wiped away the last of his tears. "T-thanks, Sou-I mean...Suki. S-sorry, I-it happens when I get..emotional and-"
"It's okay. I actually quite like the name." Suki joked, giggling a bit. Jumin chuckled. "I'll use it more often~" Suki blushed and continued giggling until Kimi returned with a cup of water.
"Well it seems you two are getting along nicely. Come up with a plan yet, Leader?" Kimi asked, turning her head to Suki.
"Not yet-wait, leader? Where did that come from?" Suki asked. "Huh? Oh, yeah! You got your persona first, you're pretty straightforward and strategic when it comes to battle and coming up with things-well, except for right now." Kimi said. Suki nodded, feeling a bit of pride in herself. Leader...I like that.
"So? What do we do for a plan?" Kimi asked.
The trio thought for a moment until Jumin remember something. "I think I know who can help."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Afternoon
"Why did you bring us to your house?" Kimi asked, puzzled as she and the other two stood outside of Jumin's small house.
"Uh...my dad may or may not be or has been a...persona user...heh." Jumin said hesitantly.
The girls eyes went wide in surprise. "WHAT?!" They shouted in unison. "Y-yeah. And so is my mom."
"AND YOU'RE JUST TELLING US THIS NOW?!" Kimi shouted. "I just remembered..." Jumin whispered. Kimi sighed. "W-whatever. We need all the help we can get anyway."
"Trust me. My dad can help. He was the wild card-whatever that means." He...was a wild card? He was the fool too? Suki thought. Jumin unlocked the door to his house and they walked in. "Ma! Dad! I'm home!" Jumin called.
"You don't have to yell, JuJu." His mother said, walking into the living room. Jumin blushed at the nickname while Kimi snickered. "JuJu?"
"S-shut up!!!" Ghara laughed and walked to her son. "You just love to embarrass me in front of girls, don't you?" Ghara smirked. "I'm your mom. It's my job." She said jokingly. Jumin playfully rolled his eyes as his mother kissed his cheek as he introduced the girls. "Mom, you know Kimi. And this is the new transfer, Suki Ichika." Suki bowed before shaking her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Eko."
His mother smiled. "You can just call me Grey, hun." Suki smiled. "So, where's dad?" Jumin asked. "He's in the garage. I'll go get him."
"Thanks Ma." Grey smiled and went to the garage to retrieve her husband. Meanwhile, Kimi and Suki broke off to invade the privacy that was Jumin's house. They were both made their way to Jumin's room, covered in caution tape, when Jumin stopped them. "Woah, woah, woah! What do you think you're doing?" He asked, blocking the door with his body. "We wanna see your room!" Kimi said proudly. "Please Jumin? We really wanna see!" Suki exclaimed.
Jumin sighed, relecuntly lower his guard and stepped out of the way. "F-fine...just...don't touch anything that is not meant to be touched."
"Which is?"
"EVERYTHING." He opened the door to his room and let the girls enter first. Jumin's room was a mess of things. Many anime and game posters covered the walls. A pile of thankfully clean clothes and hoodies laid on top of his futon, which had one side being held up by books. One side on the room was entirely tech and wires in a tangled mess. Four outdated computer screens sat on his desk covered in notebooks and cake snack wrappers. "Your room...is absolutely disgusting." Kimi said, laughing a bit.
"I-I didn't have time to clean! And I didn't exactly think girls were gonna come into my room..." Kimi continued to laugh quietly.
The girls walked around the room, looking at Jumin's possessions. Suki spotted a small picture on his bedside table.
"Jumin~Kun, is this you?" She asked. "Hm? Oh, yeah. This is when I was ten and visiting my aunts and uncles in my dad's hometown. Ma kinda caught me by surprise with picture." Jumin replied, chuckling. "Where is your father from?" Kimi asked.
"Inaba. It's a four hour car ride there, so I guess it's pretty close."
"Close my ass..." Kimi muttered. She turned her head to the corner and saw a red wooden guitar. "Hey, you play?" Kimi asked, turning her head to Jumin. "Yeah...it used to be mom's. I'm gonna get my own and give it back to her..."
"She taught you how to play?" Jumin nodded. "Yeah...Dad and Isas taught me how read regular stuff...mom taught me how to read music..."
"Then when and how did you learn to hack?"
"It just happened. The way my dyslexia works made it easy to just scrunch numbers and stuff. I don't really know a lot of the technical terms....but I can do it...generally okay!" Kimi chuckled. Jumin's father walked in, leaning against the door frame. "You called." He said.
"Oh, dad! We need to talk to you about...Y'know, the thing." Jumin said, shifting nervously. "Son, if everyone else is aware of what you're talking about, you don't need to call it 'the thing'." His father said. "S-sorry..." Jumin whispered sheepishly.
His father patted his back. "It's fine. Now, come into the living room because I cannot seriously talk to you in this room until it's clean."
"Fair enough." Kimi and Jumin left the room first. Jumin's father was about to leave when Suki grabbed his hand. "Um, I'm sorry to do this or ask this of you, Mr. Eko, but...Jumin said that you were the Wild card...is that true?"
He nodded. "Yeah. Still have my membership, too. I'm assuming you're the new one?" Suki nodded, shaking his hand. "Yes. I'm Suki Ichika."
"Yu Narukami. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Um...I promise to protect your son! I'll make it my goal! And I'll save Isas too!" Suki declared. Yu chuckled sadly, looking down. "You...don't have to do that. I know being the fool isn't the easiest job and...you can't really protect everyone. But I know you'll try. And my Jumin can protect himself, trust me. He's...." Yu struggled with his words. "He's had a lot of hits...."
Suki nodded sadly. "I-I know...I just...I don't want to lose anyone...because of me..." Yu sighed and looked back in the living room, watching his son converse with Kimi. "Look, I can't ask you to make sure he comes back in one piece...he's gonna get hurt...I'll feel it when he does...and it'll hurt me too...but I can't blame you. Because you're still just a kid. A kid with big responsibilities that I think no kid should have...so if something does happen, know it isn't your fault, okay?" Suki nodded. "Okay..." Yu smiled. "Good. Glad we had an understanding."
"Yes...oh! One more thing, you said you could feel when he gets hurt...what do you mean by that?" She asked. "That? Oh, yeah. Persona users who have strong bonds with each other can feel when they're injured. It's usually active in battle.". Suki nodded in understanding. Yu smiled at her and they left to the living room. Suki sat with the others on the couch while Yu sat on an arm chair in front of them. "Alright, so what do you need help with?" Yu asked. "It's about Isas. He has some kind of castle and his shadow...he doesn't want us in there. At all. He's probably heightened his security and everything." Jumin said. "Easy, you scope out the area before you make any moves. Make sure you have somewhat of an easy escape and easy entrance."
"I-it's not just that." Kimi said hesitantly. "Obviously."
"Isas...his state is critical. We don't know when he could possibly..." Kimi could not finish. Instead, she bit her lip.
"How was it for you? When you needed to defeat someone's shadow?" Suki asked. "For me, it was always before the fog rolled in. That's usually when the killer would strike so her wouldn't be caught." He replied. "We don't have fog..." The group thought for a moment when Jumin thought of something. "W-what about a date that has significance?" He opted.
"What do you mean, Son?" Jumin bit his lip, gripping his pants. "Uh...well, I don't know if it would be really...right or anything but...this Sunday...it marks the day we first met....if he wasn't busy, we were gonna go hang out and eat ramen and those fancy cake things in the park..." The other three gave each other a look. "That...that could actually work. " Yu said. Jumin smiled proudly. "But...that means we only have what? Three days until the deadline?" Kimi asked worriedly.
"Then you act fast. And you act smart. Everything you collected, everything you gather-use it. Use it to make a good plan. It doesn't have to be a great plan, it just has be-put together, to say the least." The trio seemed to have a better understanding on what to do, thanks to Yu. "Thanks for the help dad." Jumin said. Kimi then stood up enthusiastically and energetic. "Alright! Now let's go to Jumin's room and get planning!"
"Wait-why does it have to be in my room?!"
"Because it'll be easier! Now let's go!" Kimi pulled Suki off the couch and ran to Jumin's room. Jumin was about to chase after them, when Yu stopped him. "Dad?"
"Jumin...could you please do, or at least try to do something for me?" Jumin tilted his head a bit. "Uh...sure I guess. What is it?" Yu exhaled deeply. "Please...try and stay safe? You are our only son....I care about you a lot, your mother cares about you a hell of a lot! And...I don't want to see you get seriously hurt....or...y'know." Jumin nodded and hugged his father. "I-I know dad...I promise that I'll try not to die while in the Toxic Isles."(the name idea is by olala9911)
"Thank you son..." Yu said, pressing a kiss to his temple. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must retreat to my sanctuary before it is tarnished." With that, Jumin sprinted off to his room, the door slamming close behind him.
Yu chuckled, but there was still a twinge of worry inside him. He only hoped that his son would stay clear of harm.
"Isas, wanna play sandball?"
"What's sandball?"
"It's like snowballs but with sand!"
"...Okay!!"
"Jumin...."
Colorful
Colorful / Karafuru Genre: Drama, Slice of Life, Supernatural Episode: 1 [movie] Length: 2 her. 7 min. Release date: Aug 21, 2010
I decided to watch this anime because of the main image. I noticed so many beautiful details and color palette spoke to me before I ever knew what anime is about.
Story : 6/10
Boy wakes up in a limbo, a place between the living and dead word. Location is grey and boys memories are lost. He doesn't know anything about himself and not even his name. Very soon in this place he meets Purapura, a small kid who calls himself an angel. Purapura tells the boy has archive another chance to live in the World but his soul will be but in a boy body who has recently done suicide. The task for the boy will found out why Makoti did suicide and found out how he himself died. Story has a great potential especially until the middle of the movie but after that all ongoing are so long. In my opinion there were a lot of unnecessary moments where they could delete. I had really high hopes about this movie. I waited for an ultimate ending and conclusion but in the end I felt pretty simple and incomplete. These two hours could have been a great short min film. Creators could not go into big details but stay in the main movie thought. It would be a greater success to make the audience think more while watching this movie. In the anime I waited more Sci-Fi effects but the only Sci-Fi detail was the “angel” and the limbo scene. That was a small disappointment because Purapura were pretty rarely in the story but he felt like the most interesting character in the anime. By the Purapura story I understood that this boy was the chosen one. Purapura said because it was a choice by Boss. Of course it is a mystery for everyone that we don’t know who exactly is the Boss but we can guess it is a God or a thing who can decide the soul destiny etc. But then question why there are exceptions who can get a second chance to live.
Animation: 8/10
In my opinion animation had a style and looked good. Anime background scenes were pretty and detailed. The only thing what I noticed and some how disturbed me when I saw real life photos but animated. For me I couldn't felt the reason of these scenes. It can give a visual parallel with one of the movie reasons. How life is beautiful in real life, why you should live, why it is worth to live. But these scenes didn't felt so strong to give this feeling for me (audience). Also I missed more visually beautiful scenes in anime which more described character feelings and ongoing events to understand more events, location, place and characters because the main character was too complicated to fully understand him. With more scenes it would be easier because still I have unanswered questions.
Sound: 7/10
Music was forgotten. I literally didn't notice any soundtracks. There was a silent background music which did not give enough feelings in the scenes. Sometimes music is not necessary but in this case since I there were no huge action it was hard to understand the characters it felt needed overelse it felt kinda boring. The only song which was perfect in the right moment was: Colorful OST - Tegami Haikei Juugo No Kimi He.
From the bright side that’s a great contrast - movie without specific music EXCEPT this perfect soundtrack. This is the first time I ever hear this type of choir music in anime.
Characters: 6/10
Makoto - He was the main character but his attitude wasn’t natural. He was presented as a lonely and sad character. For me it didn’t seemed like that. I believe deep in the hearth he really cared people around him but he seemed too stubborn and selfish to pay attention to others. Of course he was depressed but he didn’t even tried to save the situation - he made it even worse and didn’t think about the result. He was pretty rude to the family without a reason. They wanted to help Makoto and were worried. But how the boy acted to his mother and didn’t give a damn how she felt. The same about Sano. I understand why he didn’t liked the girl but it was sad for me to see this. Only people with who he acted normal were Hiroka. By the way in the end of the story she basically disappeared. Also Saotome – his first friend. Because he was a boy but still I do not believe that was an excuse of his attitude.
Hiroka - I felt so bad for her. She was really nice and warm hearted. In the beginning of the film she was one of the main characters but in the end she was gone. I dont know why but after the middle of the story she disappeared. We found out her work after the school but that was a great way how to continue the story.
Purapura - In my opinion this character needed more scenes. It was a very interesting and mysterious character. I wanted to know more about him. How he became an “angel” and so on. Also I enjoyed his haircut. They looked like two horns.
Saotome - Pretty interesting. [HUGE SPOIL]
If you compare Makoto first and previous life there are not any changes except he got his first friend Saotome. The thing is why Saotome wasnt friends with Makoto in the first life. Why only in the secound. Was ir because he did a suicide? What does it means? Pettiness? Just a luck? Please explain me. [END OF THE SPOIL]
It fascinated me how much one person can change someone so much. Talking about Saotome personality.. We don’t know him much except that he likes trains. He is just a nice dude but for some reason he got nice only in Makoto second life but personally I don’t see a point why that happened. Makoto family - I have a feeling that everyone in his family has personal problems but they try hard to make Makoto happy. They acted like it’s their fault why Makoto ended his life.
Conclution: 7/10
Anime is special. It has a very important theme but the theme is not the main reason to give a high rate. Story was too long and there were unanswered questions as I mentioned it. In my opinion. Main audience is everyone who has felt similar feelings with Makoto. Who has felt depressed or wanted to do suicide (PLEASE dont do it!) And whole movie has a theme like this. Is it worth to end a life and is it so bad as you feel. I also suggest this movie who likes to discuss in general about this anime because personally I have a lot of unanswered questions.
